The ship was sailing in the Gulf of Aden, about 60 nautical miles off Yemen's Awar coast, a critical global shipping lane. Maritime security firms confirm the crew intends to abandon ship, and a search and rescue operation is now underway. The country is the world's second biggest consumer of gold. Gold prices are up some 65% in the past year,
