from cbc news the world this hour i'm neil kumar the los angeles dodgers have now tied the world series at one game apiece after a five-one victory over the toronto blue jays in game two the cbc's gregg ross has more from rogers center
what we saw for the better part of seven innings in this game was a real old school pitcher's duel you had yoshi yamamoto going toe to toe with kevin gosman and it just turned out that yamomoto
had the hotter hand on this night.
In fact, for the second straight game in this postseason,
Yamamoto pitches a complete game.
You do not see that very often in this day and age.
But yeah, Kevin Gosman was cruising for a while in this game as well.
Did give up a run in the top of the first inning,
but he really settled down for quite a while until the seventh inning
when he ran into trouble.
In fact, he gave up a couple of long balls,
so he goes six and two-thirds.
He gets charged with three earned runs in this game.
But again, not a bad outing for Kevin Gosman at all,
aside from those two home runs that he gave up in the seventh inning.
A tough night for the Blue Jays.
A tough loss when you get a good start from your starting pitcher.
Kevin Gosman held them in this game tonight.
But yes, now the series all even at a game of peace.
The Blue Jays will now send Max Scherzer to the mound against Hunter Glass now in game three,
which takes place on Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
The trade war with the U.S. is going into another round. President Donald Trump says he's going to raise tariffs already imposed on Canadian goods and services because of the Ontario anti-tariff ads. Mike Crawley has the latest.
Donald Trump's announcement comes in a social media post from Air Force One. The 200-word post falsely claims former President Ronald Reagan loved tariffs and calls the Ontario ad, which uses Reagan's own words, a fraud.
Trump says, quote, because of their serious misrepresentation of the facts and hostile act,
I am increasing the tariff on Canada by 10% over and above what they are paying now.
Trump has imposed multiple tariffs on Canadian exports, and his post does not say which of them is increasing.
CBC News has asked the White House for clarification and asked Canadian government officials
if they've received any formal notification.

Two people have been killed and 13 others injured in Kiev
after Russian missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital.
Dominic Philitis reports.
Last night's attack on Kiev set off multiple fires
and damaged residential infrastructure,
including a kindergarten.
Although most of the drones and missiles fired at the city were shot down,
some reached their targets, killing two people, and wounding 13 others.
Again, Ukraine's energy infrastructure was hit in the strikes.
The country's Prime Minister today accused Russia of attempting to create a humanitarian catastrophe to coincide with winter.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, meanwhile, said the attacks highlighted again,
just how important patriot air defence systems are
for defending Ukraine cities from Russia's relentless aerial attacks.

Ireland has elected a new president.
Far-left independent lawmaker Catherine Connolly won the vote by landslide with 63%.
For all who vote are for me, thank you very much.
It will be an absolute privilege to serve you.
For those who didn't vote for me and those who spile their votes,
Let me tell you, I will be an inclusive president to listen to all of you.
Conley gained the backing of the country's left-leaning parties.
She's been an outspoken critic of Israel's actions in Gaza.
Her win is seen as a rebuke to the country's center-right government, which was elected last year.
And that is your rule this hour.
For CBC News, I'm Neil Kumar.
Thank you.
