This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

US President Donald Trump may be losing his temper
and threatening to increase tariffs on Canada,
all because of Ontario's anti-tariff ad campaign.
But members of Mark Kearney's cabinet
seem to be keeping calm and carrying on,
government house leader Stephen McKinnon says
they're not letting Trump distract them.
What the Prime Minister has been very strong on
with all of us since this entire process,
got underway is control what you can control. This is obviously not something that we can control
from any point of view. So keep your head down, keep working. All of us, I think, are all pretty
resolute to just keep marching down the field. McKinnon adds that negotiations are already
fairly advanced, especially on sectoral tariffs. And Prime Minister Mark Carney seems to be
focusing on diversifying trade beyond the U.S. He's in Malaysia attending the summit of the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations. We are going to double our non-US exports over the course
the next 10 years. We think we can do it in a much shorter period of time. That's 300 billion of
additional exports. Most of that is going to come from Asia in our view. Mark Carney says on top of
that commitment, his government will lay out a path for at least half a trillion dollars in
additional, rather, investment in Canada over the next five years, particularly building infrastructure
to drive both clean and conventional energy and trade corridors.
Hurricane Melissa has strengthened into a category four storm
and could become a category five overnight.
Forecasters are warning it will unleash torrential rain
that could cause catastrophic flooding in the northern Caribbean,
including Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.
And that has tourists like Canadian Kimberly Farrell
cutting their holidays short.
Up until an hour ago, we had no ideas about what was happening,
and we were kind of resigned ourselves to the fact that we were going to be stuck in a hurricane.
Hurricane Melissa is expected to make landfall in Jamaica late Tuesday, or late Monday rather, or early Tuesday,
passed near Cuba late Tuesday, and the Bahamas on Wednesday.
The U.S. says it has agreed on a framework trade deal with China.
The Trump administration says it agreed to postpone 100% tariffs on Chinese goods,
and China has agreed to delay the imposition of export controls on where earth minerals.
Kate Fisher has more from Washington.
According to US officials, the trade deal would pause steeper American tariffs on Chinese goods
in return for the Chinese delaying the imposition of export controls on rare earth minerals.
Chinese officials were more circumspects and offered no details about the outcome of the meetings
on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit.
But any deal would come as a relief to international markets,
even if it doesn't address other issues like manufacturing imbalances,
and access to computer chips.
The final decision about any agreement
will be determined by Donald Trump and Xi Jinping
and they're expected to meet later this week.

French police have made arrests in connection
with the brazen jewelry iced at the Louvre
and the Paris prosecutor says one of them
was about the flight out of the country.
Dominic Volitis has the latest.
According to French media,
two men in their 30s were detained on Saturday evening.
It's believed one of them was preparing to fly to Algeria from Charles de Gaulle Airport when he was arrested.
The men who were said to be from Paris are now being questioned about last weekend's audacious robbery at the Louvre.
A number of France's crown jewels were taken after four thieves raided the world-famous museum in broad daylight.
There's no indication if any of the stolen items, said to be worth more than $140 million Canadian,
have been recovered. French prosecutors, meanwhile, are remaining tight-lipped about the arrests
and are refusing to say if others have been detained in connection with the heist.

The Blue Jays have today off. It's a chance to shake off last night's 5-1 loss to the Los Angeles
Dodgers. The World Series stands at one game apiece. Game 3 goes tomorrow night,
with Veteran J's pitcher Max Scherzer starting for Canada's team. That is your world this
