From CBC News, the world this hour.

The Toronto Blue Jays beat the L.A. Dodgers tonight in game four of the world series.
Final score, 6-2.
The CBC's Thomas Dagler reports from Los Angeles.
Yeah, what a difference a day makes after that six-hour, 39-minute marathon for game three.
Here we are, game four, and the Blue Jays make relatively quick work.
of the Dodgers tying up the series two games to two and making sure that all those Canadians
who traveled here to Los Angeles for this game had lots to cheer for.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has now broken the franchise record for most home runs by a Blue Jay.
And keep in mind, this is the first postseason where he has been hitting those homers.
As for the superstar on the other team, Shohei Otani, an effective pitcher tonight with six
strikeouts, but an ineffective hitter.
Now, the Jays win tonight. Guarantees two things. First of all, this series will return to Toronto Friday night and potentially Saturday for a game seven. But whatever happens, this is now a best of three with the first team to win two games wins the World Series.
The CBC's Thomas Dagler at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
U.S. President Donald Trump just delivered a keynote speech at the APEC summit in South Korea,
and he suggested the U.S. is about to reach a new trade deal with China.
President-Chief China is coming tomorrow here, and we're going to be, I hope, making a deal.
I think we're going to have a deal. I think it'll be a good deal for both.
And that's really a great result, you know, and that's better than fighting.
going through all sorts of problems.
Prime Minister Mark Carney is also at that summit,
but it doesn't seem like he'll get a one-on-one with Trump.
In a post on his truth social site tonight,
Trump says,
for those that are asking, we didn't come to South Korea to see Canada.
The Bank of Canada is widely expected to cut interest rates Wednesday morning.
The cut could help boost growth in the Canadian economy,
but the bank is also waiting for next week's federal budget,
budget. Peter Armstrong reports.
Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklam has made it clear. There's only so much the central bank can do to help Canada get out of the current crisis.
While monetary policy can't offset the negative effects of tariffs, positive structural reform could.
Interest rates may lessen the burden for households and businesses, but Maclum says what's needed now is fiscal policy, the building of major infrastructure projects to help diversify the Canadian economy.
We could have done this.
without U.S. tariffs.
But the loss of incomes and growth now makes this all the more imperative.
All the more imperative because even if Canada has avoided an outright recession,
Desjardins, Deputy Chief Economist Randall Bartlett,
says the economy is only forecast to grow by a tiny amount.
So the Canadian economy is quite weak.
So he says the bank will likely cut rates, but also make it clear.
It's waiting to see where and how aggressively the federal government spends in next week's budget.
Peter Armstrong, CBC News, Toronto.
Hurricane Melissa is approaching the coast of Cuba tonight after it slammed across Jamaica Tuesday.
Katie Nicholson has more.
Jamaica has felt the brunt of Melissa.
Jamaica's Minister for Local Government Desmond McKenzie detailed the damage after Hurricane Melissa slammed into the island.
We have reports coming out of Black River.
Our number of families being trapped in their homes.
The fate of those families, not immediately clear, but...
Much of the damage was.
Electric poles ripped from the ground.
Landslides and floodwaters closed roads.
Just a year ago, Hurricane Barrel badly hit the same area,
and it was just recovering.
Brian Bogart is with the World Food Program standing by to help.
You can only imagine how difficult it will be for them.
Melissa was a historic Category 5 storm for Jamaica.
It will likely be days before Jamaica fully knows the extent of Melissa's damage.
the most powerful and violent storm in its history.
Katie Nicholson, CBC News, Toronto.
And that is your world this hour.
