This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

from cbicne from cbc news it's the world this hour i'm joe cummings hurricane melissa is now roaring across
eastern cuba it's a video this morning showing people waiting through ankle deep water as it
rushes into doorways. At least 700,000 people across the country are being moved to higher ground.
Meanwhile, in Jamaica, emergency officials are in the process of evaluating the damage from Melissa's
arrival yesterday afternoon. Desmond McKenzie is a government minister.
Jamaica's gone through what I can call one of its worst period. Our infrastructure has been
severely compromised. Melissa made land in Jamaica as a category five storm. So,
swamping coastal communities and knocking out power.
At least 500,000 people are without electricity this morning,
with schools and businesses closed and hospitals damaged.
Calling it a response to Hamas violating the ceasefire,
Israel has carried out a series of airstrikes on Gaza.
Palestinian officials say at least 104 people have been killed.
It comes after an Israeli military reservist was killed this week in Rafa.
It's the second fatal attack of its kind since the ceasefire took effect.
Hamas has been accused in both attacks, but is denying any involvement.
It's a big day today for the Bank of Canada.
Central Bank is making its October interest rate setting, and it's releasing its first economic forecast since January.
That forecast will include the bank's view on where the economy is headed in the midst of the ongoing Trump tariff campaign.
As for the rate setting, another cut is expected, this after the bank trimmed its influential rate last month by a quarter point, dropping it down to 2.5%.
It's a growing problem at prisons right across the country.
It's a use of drones to deliver weapons, drugs, and other contraband inside prison walls.
And in Kingston, Ontario, police and correctional staff are joining forces to do something about it.
Dan Takama has more.
A basketball stuffed with tobacco and cell phones, bundles of knives and drugs camouflaged with fake grass.
Just some of the contraband drone pilots have tried to smuggle behind bars in Kingston.
rival gangs trying to control who can fly into prisons.
Sergeant Jonas Bonham is head of the local police intelligence unit,
which has teamed up with correction staff to tackle drone smuggling.
The task force is the first of its kind in Canada.
Kingston is a prison town, so it just made sense for us to join forces.
Correctional Service Canada says there were more than a thousand reports of drone activity
at prisons across the country last year.
It's big business, as even items like pot or tobacco legal on the street,
are worth 10 to 25 times more inside.
Investigators say they've managed to cut the number of local drone drops in half.
They're hoping other Canadian law enforcement agencies can consider assembling a drone task force of their own.

Now to baseball and good news from Los Angeles, the Blue Jays beat the Dodgers last night, 6 to 2,
evening the World Series at two wins apiece.
Here's Thomas DeGla.
Well, what a difference 24 hours.
hours makes after that marathon, six and a half hour defeat to the LA Dodgers here at Dodgers
Stadium in game three. The Jays bounced back in game four and made relatively quick work of their
opponents. Shohei Otani on the mound starting pitching for the Dodgers. But Shohei Otani,
the batter was mostly neutralized by the Blue Jays going 0 for three at the plate. Then in the
seventh inning, a flurry of offense from the Blue Jays. The Jays would never look back after
that. A good pitching outing as well by starting pitch.
Shane Bieber and the Jays have tied up the series at two games each, which it guarantees a
couple things. This series is guaranteed to return to Toronto on Friday, and if there is a game
seven, it will be in Toronto on Saturday. This is now a best of three. Whichever team
takes two games now will win the world series. Thomas Dagg, CBC News, Los Angeles.
And that is the world this hour. For CBC News, I'm Joe Cummings.
Thank you.
