This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

From CBC News, it's the world this hour.
I'm Joe Cummings.
For the second time in two months, the Bank of Canada is cutting interest rates.
In its October setting this morning, the central bank is trimming its influential rate by quarter point, dropping it down to 2.25%.
Here's Peter Armstrong.
The bank says a cut like this is needed to help boost the economy right off the top.
This release says that, quote, well, the global economy has been resilient to the historic rise in U.S. tariffs, the impact is becoming more evident.
Here in Canada, growth is weak, employment is soft.
And even though Canada has thus far at least avoided an outright recession, it certainly doesn't feel very good out there in the Canadian economy.
So a quarter point cut can provide some relief.
but the bank is also acutely aware of just how limited that kind of action can be.
Another quote at the end of the release says Canadian economy faces a difficult transition.
The structural damage caused by trade conflicts reduces the capacity of the economy to add costs.
This limits the role that the monetary policy can play to boost demand while maintaining low inflation.
In other words, wait and see what the federal government does in next week's budget.

Prime Minister Mark Carney is in South Korea ahead of this week's APEC summit.
U.S. President Donald Trump has arrived as well, and just a few hours ago, Trump and
Carney sat across from each other at a pre-Summit dinner.
Murray Brewster reports.
How was dinner, Prime Minister? You chat with the president at all, sir?
Prime Minister Mark Carney, arriving back at his hotel following an hour-long dinner
hosted by the South Koreans.
How much he and Donald Trump spoke and about what is unlawful.
unclear, but the frost over the Canada-U.S. relationship was evident. A reminder of his
troubles with the United States was in Carney's face from the moment he arrived. Air Force One
was parked in front of his plane. Trump appears to be entering the APEC summit ready to make
trade concessions, or at least adjust tariffs, to secure a broader deal with China. Whether Carney
has the room to do the same in his own meeting with China on Friday remains to be seen. The Trump
administration would not be keen on Canada making concessions to China, for example, on electric
vehicles. Trump is slated to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping tomorrow. Murray Brewster,

It's a video showing people wading through knee-deep water as it rushes into doorways. At least
700,000 people across the country are being moved to higher ground. Meanwhile, in Jamaica,
emergency officials are in the process of evaluating the damage from Melissa's arrival yesterday
afternoon. Desmond McKenzie is a government official. Jamaica's gone through what I can
call one of its worst period. Our infrastructure has been severely compromised. Melissa made land
as a Category 5 storm, swamping coastal communities across Jamaica and knocking out
power to at least 500,000 people. Schools and businesses are closed and hospitals are damaged.
Calling it a response to Hamas, violating the ceasefire, Israel has carried out a series of airstrikes on Gaza.
Palestinian officials are saying at least 104 people have been killed. It comes after an Israeli
military reservist was killed this week in Rafa. It's a second fatal attack of its kind since
the ceasefire took effect. Hamas has been accused in both attacks but is denying any involvement.
Now to the Blue Jays and a big win last night in Los Angeles.
Hit well to deep left center.
And this one will go.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Lines one into the seats in left center, and the Blue Jays take the lead.
That was the highlight from last night's game.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hitting a two-run homer after off Shohei Atani in the third inning.
and got the ball rolling, and the Jays are on their way to a 6-2 victory.
That ties the series of two wins apiece,
with game 5 set for tonight again in Los Angeles.
And that is the world this hour.
