This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

The working people of New York have been told by the wealthy and the well-connected
that power does not belong in their hands.
Zoran Mamdani with a fiery speech.
Over the last 12 months, you have dared to reach for something greater.
The 34-year-old Democratic Socialist rapidly ascended to mayor-elect
on promises to make life in New York more affordable, free buses, child care.
rent freezes and government-run grocery stores.
This race, seen by some as a barometer reading,
one year after voters elected Donald Trump
to a second term in the Oval Office
and one year before the crucial midterm elections.
Trump injected himself into the New York race.
He endorsed former governor Andrew Cuomo, a longtime Democrat,
and suggested he would pull federal funding from the city
if Momdani won.
Katie Nicholson, CBC.
News, Washington.
Democratic candidates also won elections for governor in New Jersey and Virginia.
And in California, voters passed a ballot measure to change the U.S. congressional districts
in a way that favor the Democratic Party.
The move comes in response to a similar tactic by Texas Republicans to draw themselves
a map that could give them more seats.
Now to Louisville, Kentucky.
Witnesses watch in horror as a lot of us.
a UPS cargo plane crashes and explodes into a massive fireball.
Video shows flames on the plane's left wing and a trail of smoke just before the crash.
At least seven people are dead.
Andy Beshear is the governor of Kentucky.
He says the death toll is expected to rise.
Anybody who has seen the images in the video know how violent this crash is.
And there are a lot of families that are going to be waiting and wondering for a period of time.
We're going to try to get them that information as fast as we can.
Louisville is home to the largest UPS shipping center in the world with 300 cargo flights per day.
Prime Minister Mark Carney's first budget delivers a historic investment in the military and the defense industry.
But as Murray Brewster reports, the plan is light on specifics on how and when the roughly $81 billion will be spent.
I have even more good news, Mr. Speaker.
Finance Minister Francois Philippe Champagne.
We will meet our 2% NATO commitment this year.
The Liberal government has set aside an additional $81.8 billion over five years to rearm the Canadian military.
But the new federal budget offers only a vague, big-picture view on how the money will be spent.
It also does not spell out the politically important pathway to meeting NATO's defense spending target of 5% of the gross domestic product.
Defense expert Dave Perry says, given the build-up, he was expecting more clarity.
The government that has made so much of wanting to commit to NATO targets has really only provided a bookend.
There is more money, billions for recruiting, training, new equipment, defense infrastructure,
and beefing up cyber defense capabilities.
$6 billion is set aside to build up Canada's defense industry,
and the government is introducing a by-Canada policy.
How that affects the Defense Department, which has billions of dollars in equipment on order from the U.S.
is unclear.
Murray Brewster, CBC News, Ottawa.
The new federal budget includes a $51 billion infrastructure program called the Build Community Strong Fund.
It will help pay for roads, community centers, and hospitals.
Calgary's new mayor, Jeremy Farkas, is watching closely with his shopping list.
We need not only more homes, but also the roads, transit, and services, and utilities.
The Liberals are aiming to double the pace of construction over the next decade,
promising a speed and scale not seen in generations.
And that is your world this hour. I'm Neil Hurland.
