from cbc news it's the world this hour i'm joe cummings we start with the political intrigue on parliament hill and the latest from the conservative party
it is losing another member of its caucus with alberta m p matt jenneru announcing his resignation it comes just one day
after another conservative MP cross the floor and join the liberals tom perry reports
I just wish them all the best.
From conservative MPs like John Brassard, warm wishes for a colleague who's calling it quits.
Edmonton MP Matt Jenneru says he's stepping down to focus on his family,
though his name had been mentioned as someone who might be interested in crossing the floor
after Nova Scotia MP Chris Dantramont this week jumped from the conservatives to the liberals.
Conservative MP Pat Kelly insists the talk around Genereu was just that. Talk.
disappointing to hear some of the silly rumors.
But to Liberal MP Mark Gerritsen, one conservative jumping ship and another one leaving
should send a message.
The Conservative Party of Canada no longer has room for progressive views.
Conservative leader Pierre Palliev posted a message on social media,
thanking Jenneru for his service, adding he expected him to stay on as an MP until spring.
Tom Perry, CBC News, Ottawa.
Meanwhile, another budget amendment is being voted on today in the House of Commons.
It's from the Block Quebec, and it calls on MPs to reject the liberal budget because it is, quote, harmful to Quebec.
Yesterday's amendment put forward by the Conservatives was voted down.
It called for the budget to be rejected because it doesn't offer Canadians an affordable life.
The final debate and final vote on the budget is set for later this month.
MPs have next week off, and will return to the House on November 17th.
The typhoon Kalmegi is moving now into Cambodia as it continues to sweep across Southeast Asia.
Earlier this week, it claimed close to 200 lives in the Philippines before hitting central Vietnam yesterday and displacing at least half a million people.
Laura Westbrook has the latest.
Reports show that villages along the coast have their roofs ripped off trees also uprooted with these very strong winds.
There are also storm surges that caused damage. There was debris strewn along the coast.
Some boats sunk, and there's also been reports of power outages.
The storm has weakened as it's moved inland, but Vietnamese authorities have warned of more heavy rain
with forecasts of up to 200 millimetres in the centre of the country,
and there's also warnings of possible flooding in low-lying areas.
Now, before Kalmagi's arrival, Vietnam was also recovering from days of record-breaking amounts of rain,
and that caused flash floods.
So this storm really coming on the back of a lot of rain
that the country's been experiencing.

The situation there remains absolutely horrific.

600 trucks were to be allowed in daily as a part of the peace deal.
Etifa says currently only a third or a third or a group.
a quarter of the expected supplies are entering Gaza.
