The actor who plays Bubbles on Trailer Park Boys is facing sexual assault charges.
Mike Smith was charged earlier this month in connection with a 2017 incident in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Andrew S. S. Bumbles, Mike Smith is one of the most recognizable stars of the trailer park boys.
The series has a worldwide audience and has become one of Nova Scotia's most well-known global exports.
The charges against Smith were laid early last month.
Court documents didn't list specifics about the alleged incident,
but he's been ordered not to contact the alleged victim or visit their home, work, or school.
Their identity is protected by a publication ban,
and the allegations have not yet been tested in court.
In 2016, Smith was arrested in Los Angeles and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery
after an alleged incident at a hotel in Hollywood.
The charges were later dropped after Smith and the alleged victim denied the allegations.
Smith is due to appear in court on Monday in Halifax.

In Northeast BC, the number of measles cases is continuing to climb
with new numbers showing the virus spreading in workplaces and public spaces in Fort St. John.
Matt Prepost has details.
The BC Center for Disease Control reports 29 new confirmed and probable measles infections in Northeast BC.
Nine of them are currently active.
Since an outbreak began in May, the Northeast has recorded around 275 total cases.
Most clustered in and
around Fort St. John. Exposures in the last two weeks have happened at the hospital, banks,
restaurants, grocery stores, and in the city's airport industrial area. Health officials say the
virus is spreading quickly through unvaccinated families and believe the true number of infections
is likely higher than reported. While vaccination rates in the peace increased over the summer,
they slowed down as the school year began. People are still being urged to get their measles
shots. As officials predict, the city will continue seeing five or more new infections a day
for the foreseeable future. Matt pre-prost. CBC News.

to make landfall late Sunday or early Monday. The country's gone just gone through
Typhoon Kalmaggi, which killed more than 200 people. Demonstrators in Tel Aviv gathered
for their weekly rally to demand Israel ensure the release of hostages held by Hamas,
but there was a second protest, this won against changes to the country's governing
structure. Many of them say under Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel is shifting away from
liberal democracy and closer to right-wing theocracy.
democracy is kind of a shaky situation. We have a government that try to change our democracy
to dictatorship and we're here to protest. We're here to demonstrate against it. Netanyahu heads a
coalition that includes several hardliners. As for governance in 2003, his government
attempted to water down the power of the courts. That plan got overshadowed by the October 7th
attack by Hamas, but the legislation aimed at controlling Israel's news media is
moving forward in the Knesset.
Canadians traveling to Europe are facing new border measures as a group of 29 nations ramp up security.
As of now, they'll have to register for short stays, and starting next year, they'll need to
obtain electronic travel authorization in advance.
The rules will apply to people requiring visas and those who don't.
The system uses various means, including electronicisks, to collect facial images and fingerprints
to verify identities.
That is the world this hour.
