At a gymnasium-turned evacuation center, one woman says,
I'm anxious and scared because we don't know how strong the typhoon will impact us.
Known as Uwan locally, the country's civil defense office says up to 30 million people
could be exposed to the hazards from the typhoon.

Ahmed al-Sharahar prepares to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington Monday,
when he will join a U.S.-led coalition against Islamic States.
The visit is unprecedented, with Al-Sherar set to become Syria's first lead-up to pay an official visit to the White House.
The United States is reportedly preparing to establish a military presence in Damascus
as part of a security pact being brokered between Syria and Israel.
