You may have heard of the sex cult nexium and the famous actress who went to prison for her involvement, Alison Mack.
But she's never told her side of the story, until now.
People assume that I'm like this pervert.
My name is Natalie Robamed, and in my new podcast, I talked to Alison to try to understand how she went from TV actor to cult member and what she thinks of it all now.
How do you feel about having been involved in bringing sexual trauma at other people?
I mean, I don't even know how to answer that question.
Alison, after nexium from CBC's on cover, is available now, wherever you get your podcasts.
From CBC News, The World This Hour, I'm Gina Louise Phillips.
All eyes will be on the House of Commons tomorrow, when MPs will vote on the Kearney government's budget.
As a minority government, the liberals need two more votes, or two opposition MPs not to show, to get the budget passed.
And if they don't, there could be a snap election, barely six months,
after the last one. But the Chief Government Whip, Mark Gerritsen, says his party is ready.
We're always ready for an election. The Liberal Party has been ready for an election since the last one.
If it comes to that, then we'll proceed to an election. Having said that, I don't believe
Canadians want this and what they want is for us to be working together, and I believe that this
budget reflects that. Both the Conservatives and the Block Quebecois have said they will vote
against the budget, which means any help will come from the New Democrats or Green Leader, Elizabeth May.
The UK is announcing sweeping changes to its asylum policy.
People granted asylum will now have to wait 20 years before applying for permanent status.
That's up from five years currently.
And they could lose refugee status if their situation changes.
Shabana Mahmoud is Home Secretary.
The situation will be assessed every two and a half years.
So if your country becomes safe in that intervening period and you are remaining on this essentially core protection model,
you will be returned to your country because we see.
countries that have started off in conflict and people have moved in order to escape that
conflict becoming safe. So I think that is right.
There is growing public concern about uncontrolled immigration as the number of people arriving
in small boats soars. Workers continue to build a concrete wall alongside Israel's side of the border
with Lebanon after the Lebanese government complained to the UN Security Council saying it
violates their border. Dominic Vilitis has that story.
Work continued on Israel's concrete wall along Lebanon's southern border today.
The Lebanese president says he plans to complain to the United Nations about the project,
which he says extends beyond the so-called blue line
and constitutes an infringement of his country's sovereignty.
A claim UN spokesperson Stefan Dujarik has agreed with.
Concrete T walls crossed the blue line,
making more than 4,000 square meters of Lebanese territory.
inaccessible to the local population.
The blue line is the matte boundary,
which Israeli forces withdrew to when they left southern Lebanon in 2000.
It separates Lebanon from Israel in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
The Israeli military denies the wall crosses the boundary.

For the first time in Canadian history,
a Canadian Prime Minister has attended a commemoration event
for Louis Riel. He led the 1885 Northwest resistance and advocated for Métis rights,
culture, and territory. Today is the 140th anniversary of the day that Canada hanged him.
Karen Pauls has more on this.
A graveside ceremony for Louis Riel in the cemetery at St. Boniface Cathedral.
Mark Carney is in Winnipeg for the Grey Cup, but he also took time to become the first sitting
Prime Minister to attend a commemoration event for Real.
Rielle's title as the father of Manitoba, it captures his relentless drive for the Métis
to be full partners in Canada.
Manitoba Premier Wab Canew said Carney's presence was significant.
In Riel's day, the Prime Minister of Canada was calling for Riel's execution.
And here we are, seven generations later, the Prime Minister of Canada is here to pay respect
and to honor Louis Rial.
Riehl was accused of treason and executed by hanging on this day in 1885.
He is now celebrated for paving the way from Manitoba's entry into Confederation.
Karen Paul's, CBC News, Winnipeg.
As Karen mentioned, it's game day in Winnipeg.
The 112th Grey Cup will kick off in just a few hours as the favored Saskatchewan rough riders
battle the Montreal Alouettes.
The riders will be looking to hoist their first Grey Cup since 2013,
while the alouettes won more recently in 2023.
That's the world this hour.
For CBC News, I'm Gina Louise Phillips.
