This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

from cbc news the world this hour i'm mike miles once a donald trump loyalist republican representative marjorie taylor green announced tonight she is stepping down from the u.s congress the two have split in recent weeks steve fuderman has details
at one time marjorie taylor green was donald trump's most passionate supporter but that was then in the past few weeks this political relationship has gone sour all because of the geoffrey
Epstein case. Green fought against Trump to get the Epstein files released, and that has now led to
this. I'll be resigning from office with my last day being January 5th, 2026. Green announced her
decision in a more than 10-minute video posted on social media, and she repeatedly referred directly
to Trump. If I am cast aside by the president and the MAGA political machine, then many common
Americans have been cast aside and replaced as well. Things between Green and Trump got so now,
that Trump did what he often does to people he disagrees with. He gave her a nasty nickname. Marjorie Taylor Green became Marjorie Trader Green. It's unlikely Green is going to leave the political scene. It just won't be in the U.S. House. Steve Futterman, CBC News, Los Angeles.
And Trump reacting tonight telling ABC News, Green's resignation is good news for the country. Earlier, Trump met with New York's mayor-elect in the White House. Afterward, Zoran Mamdani and Donald
Trump were all smiles, telling reporters they focused on their shared concerns like affordability
in serving New Yorkers and not their political differences.
Paul Hunter has more from Washington.
For some reason, the press has found this to be a very interesting way.
On that, Donald Trump was bang on.
The attention in the lead-up to his meeting with the new mayor-elect of New York City,
Zoran Mamdani, was mega.
Trump and Mamdani had, after all, traded barbs for weeks in the run-up to this.
Mamdani, a self-described democratic socialist, Trump, a seriously conservative Republican.
Trump's own press secretary labeling Mamdani a communist, but said Trump, Friday,
We had a meeting today that actually surprised me. We agree on a lot more than I would have thought.
Even Mamdani, said to have been briefed by multiple other Democratic politicians who've dealt with Trump,
seemed upbeat, if on message.
What I really appreciate about the president is that the meeting that we had focused not on places of disagreement,
which there are, many, and also focused on the shared purpose that we have in serving New Yorkers.
Whatever was said at the meeting, it seems to have gone, in short, very well.
Paul Hunter, CBC News, Washington.
The teachers who fended off a grizzly bear as it attacked a school group in Belakula, BC, are being hailed as heroes.
Newhawk Nation elected chief Samuel Schooner says the group of 20 students and their teachers were on an afternoon trip yesterday
when a grizzly bear suddenly attacked and only stopped after teachers used.
pepper spray and bear bangers.
It's been a hard 24 hours for our nation, but it's also been very enlightening because
they're good, they're in a safe place, they're getting worked on.
I just want to say how proud I am of, you know, how our people came together.
Four people remain in hospital with serious injuries.
Three of them are children.
One is an adult.
They are now receiving treatment after being transferred to Vancouver.
from Belakula Hospital, conservation officers continue to search the area for the bear,
setting up traps, and several cameras. They're calling the attack very rare and are trying to
determine what caused the behavior. At this hour, the puck drops on the first game for the
two newest teams in the professional women's hockey league, with the Vancouver Golden Eyes hosting
the Seattle Torrent. It's the league's first ever expansion, but it's already eyeing,
adding as many of four more teams, excuse me, as early as next year.
Alberta's government plans to use artificial intelligence to write an upcoming bill.
It sets standards for what can legally be called Alberta Whiskey.
Service Alberta Minister Dale Nalley says it'll be a good test case,
adding the bill will still go through the usual legislative process,
allowing changes to be made as needed.
The bill's expected to come for it next spring.
That is the world this hour.
For CBC News, I'm Mike Miles.
Thank you.
