You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors, all doing so much with so little. You've got to be Scarborough. Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights. And you can help us keep climbing.
Starting point is 00:00:27 Donate at lovescarbro.cairbo. From CBC News, The World This Hour. I'm Mike Miles. On that, Donald Trump was bang on the attention in the lead-up to his meeting with the new mayor-elect of New York City. Zoran Mamdani was mega. Trump and Mamdani had, after all,
Starting point is 00:02:33 traded barbs for weeks in the run-up to this. Mamdani, a self-described democratic socialist, Trump, a seriously conservative Republican. Trump's own press secretary, labeling Mamdani a communist. But said Trump, Friday... We had a meeting today that actually surprised me. We agree on a lot more than I would have thought.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Even Mamdani, said to have been briefed by multiple other Democratic politicians who've dealt with Trump seemed upbeat. if on message. What I really appreciate about the president is that the meeting that we had focused not on places of disagreement, which there are, many, and also focused on the shared purpose that we have in serving New Yorkers. Whatever was said at the meeting, it seems to have gone, in short, very well. Paul Hunter, CBC News, Washington.
