Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney is reaffirming the country's support for Ukraine, despite mounting pressure to accept a U.S. peace peace. plan. European leaders here are clearly concerned about the leaked proposed peace deal by the U.S. European Commission President posting on social media, nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine. The U.K. announcing that Ukraine's friends and partners will meet on the margins of the summit. Now, that includes 11 countries, including the U.K., France, Germany, and Canada to discuss how to secure a full ceasefire and meaningful peace negotiations. There seems to be a desire what they say is to strengthen the U.S. plan, which does seem to be code for improve, because this proposed peace deal seems very much aligned with Russia's demands.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Now, earlier, Prime Minister Mark Carney had a one-on-one meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. The readout from that bilateral said that any settlement on Ukraine, Ukraine must include Ukraine's involvement. It must respect Ukraine's core interests and provide security guarantees. Karina Roman, CBC News, Johannesburg. Police and conservation officers are continuing their hunt for the grizzly bear that attacked a group of students and their teachers on BC Central Coast. It happened Thursday in Belakula. About 20 kids and their teachers from the Newhawk First Nation were on an afternoon trip and had stopped by a trail for lunch when they were attacked.
