This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

from cbc news the world this hour i'm neil hurland another round of talks between the u.s and ukraine
wrapped up in miami sunday both the american and ukrainian delegations called the meeting productive
but as raffi buchakhani reports there are still concerns that any peace plan will be tilted in russia's favor
Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, saying diplomacy remains active and the American side is being constructive.
And we are thankful for the efforts of United States.
The head of Zelensky's security council, Rustem Umarov, using much the same language at the start of a meeting, he and a visiting delegation held with the U.S. in Florida.
We are discussing about the future of Ukraine, about the security of Ukraine, about no repetition of aggression of Ukraine.
Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, says the U.S. and Ukraine are on the same page.
After the meeting, Rubio briefly addressed the media.
But there's more work to be done. This is delicate. It's complicated. There are a lot of moving parts.
So did Umarov. But neither side took questions from journalists, leaving it unclear where Trump's special envoy could pick up talks
as he sets off to Moscow sometime this coming week to meet with Russia's president, Vladimir Putin.
Rafi Bucan. On CBC News, Washington.
Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu is asking his country's president for a pardon.
Netanyahu is currently on trial for corruption.
In a case that has dragged on for years, Tom Perry has more.
Hey, I have an idea.
Mr. President, why don't you give him a pardon?
U.S. President Donald Trump was the first to float the idea of Israel's president
pardoning Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Now, Netanyahu has formally submitted a request of his own.
Netanyahu is facing three separate cases stretching back five years involving bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.
He's asked President Isaac Herzog to dismiss them.
Herzog says he'll consider it.
But Israeli opposition leader, Yair Lepid, says there should be no pardon without strict conditions.
Lapid says if Netanyahu wants a pardon, he should admit guilt, express his remorse, and immediately retire from political life.
Tom Perry, CBC News, Jerusalem.
The UN Refugee Agency is warning of a sharp rise of sexual violence cases against women and girls,

They include the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan.

Chris Ochamringa reports from Kinshasa.
Women with children strapped on their backs run for their lives as fighting a rock.
in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The fighting between government forces and M23 rebels
has killed thousands and displaced millions of people
since late 2021.
It has also led to a surge in sexual violence
against women and girls.
The UN Refugee Agency says the situation
is alarming in Sudan as well.
Salma, whose name we have changed
to protect her identity,
is one of the victims of the horrific act.
The armed men using rape as a weapon of war

Now to Lebanon.
Crowds cheer and musicians perform as Pope Leo arrived in Beirut,
Speaking from the Lebanese presidential palace, the Pope called on leaders to do their part to help achieve peace in the region.
It is a great joy for me to meet with you and to visit this land where peace is much more than just a word.
For here, peace is a desire and a vocation.
Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon have been intensifying recently.
And that is your world this hour for CBC News.
