This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

from cbc news the world this hour i'm neil hurland we begin in sydney australia where it's already
monday afternoon and police have just given an update on the deadly attack at a hanukkah ceremony in
bondi beach what's really important is to say that we do have a 24 year old male in hospital at the
based on his medical condition, it is likely that that person may face criminal charges.
I'm very mindful of not prejudiced any prosecution of that person if they're put before the court.
That's Malcolm Lanyon, Commissioner of the New South Wales Police Force.
Fifteen people were killed Sunday. Another 42 were wounded.
Two gunmen allegedly opened fire on a gathering of Jewish families celebrating the first night of Hanukkah.
Phil Mercer reports from Sydney.
We now know that one of the attackers was shot dead by the police, and we're also learning more not only about the attackers, a father and son, aged 50 and 24, but crucially about the victims.
We know that the youngest was a 10-year-old child, and the oldest was 87 years of age. So this is clearly an attack that is causing immense trauma across this country.
since the October the 7th attacks and the war in Gaza, schools, synagogues and homes have been targeted in anti-Semitic vandalism and arson.
And there are criticisms of the Albanese government that it hasn't done enough to stem this tide.
And in response, the Australian Prime Minister had this to say.
What we saw yesterday was an act of pure evil, an act of anti-Semitism.
It is a scourge and we will eradicate it together.

A Canadian man staying in Sydney was hanging out with friends on Bondi Beach
when he heard the gunshots and ran.
Riley Stranahan says the worst part was making the calls
to see if his friends managed to escape.
Pretty traumatizing, just having to make that call, though,
trying to make sure everyone's okay.
I had a buddy didn't answer for a while,
had me pretty shicken up, but yeah, luckily everyone's okay
that I know at least, and those for the people that aren't.
My heart definitely goes out to them because, yeah, it's terrible.
Meantime, police and Providence, Rhode Island, have a suspect in custody.
A man in his 20s, they believe, is the gunman who opened fire on the campus of Brown University Saturday afternoon.
Two people are dead, nine are wounded.
Katie Simpson has the story of a survivor.
It honestly felt like an eternity.
Joseph O'Duro had just finished leading a study session ahead of final exams, around 4 o'clock Saturday after.
The Brown University teaching assistant says students were about to leave the lecture hall
when they heard what sounded like gunshots coming from outside the room.
And we heard screaming from various students.
And then about five seconds later, we see a gunman into the room.
Then you just screamed something and just started shooting.
Oduro says he locked eyes with the gunmen before he dropped to the ground,
narrowly dodging bullets that ended up in the chalkboard behind him.
There was a desk nearby, no more than three meters long.
He says he and some students hid behind it, including one young woman who is shot in the leg twice.
There wasn't too much space, but we may do because at the end of the day, we just all wanted to survive.
