a delegation that includes six canadian MPs has been denied entry into the occupied west bank
were turned back today by israeli officials as they attempted to enter the territory from
jordan new democrat mp jenny kwan is part of the delegation she says they were planning to meet
with Palestinians who have been the victims of settler violence.
The issue that we're pushing for is really grounded on human rights,
basic human rights and humanitarian action.
Having a chance to getting closer to the issue, talking to the people firsthand,
I don't think that could be replaced.
The Canadian MPs, one Democrat and five liberals,
also planned to meet with the Palestinian Authority,
which administers part of the occupied territory.
The trip is sponsored by the Canadian.
Muslim vote, a registered non-profit in Canada.
The Israeli government has issued a comment saying the Canadians were turned away for security
reasons.
Canada has announced another $50 million donation to the Ukrainian war effort.
Defense Minister David McGinty says it will go toward boosting Ukraine's drone capabilities.
McGinty took part today in a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which brings
together more than 50 countries allied with Kiev.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy is urging your
European leaders to use seized Russian assets to pay for the damage caused by the Russian invasion.
He says financial losses affect Russian President Vladimir Putin far greater than the loss of
human life.
Putin does not believe in people. He believes only in power and in money.
He spends around 30,000 soldiers' lives on the front every month, not wounded, 30,000 each
months killed. Russians don't count their debt, but they do count every dollar and every
euro they lose.
That's Zelensky in the Hague today addressing the Dutch Parliament. The United States has
carried out three more strikes on boats in the eastern Pacific Ocean. In a statement on
social media, the military says, without offering evidence, that the vessels were drug trafficking
boats operated by terrorist organizations in international waters. They say,
people were killed. A video has also been posted that shows a boat moving through the water and then
exploding. Since September, the U.S. military has killed at least 95 people in a series of
similar strikes. More than two weeks after it started, the most complex fire in Toronto history
is finally out. But the residents of the two affected buildings still don't know when they'll be
able to return home. Megan Fitzpatrick has more. Fires finally out, but fire trucks are still on site
in Toronto's Thorncliffe Park neighborhood.
And the 408 units evacuated nearly three weeks ago remain empty.
On November 27th, crews recalled to the buildings that are joined together,
where the particle board in between them was smoldering like a cigar.
Fire hoses couldn't get into the minuscule space.
We could not see the fire.
Chief Jim Jessup says it was an unprecedented type of fire
that took innovative techniques to finally extinguish like cameras,
helium, garden hoses, and foam.
I've had phone calls from fire chiefs from across North America
that have never experienced something as complex as this.
Engineers will now assess the building's structural integrity, air quality, plumbing,
and electrical systems to determine when it's safe for residents to return.

A 54-year-old man who steered a vehicle into a crowd at a Liverpool soccer parade last spring
has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
More than 130 people were injured when Paul Doyle drove a minivan into a sea of fan celebrating Liverpool's Premier League Championship.
He pleaded guilty last month to multiple counts of causing or attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
And that is the world this hour.
