Okay, so there's this new play about the Rogers family and their battle for control over the gigantic telecom empire, and I cannot stop thinking about it.

The Trump administration carried out what the Defense Secretary called a declaration of vengeance in Syria last night.
The U.S. military said it hit dozens of ISIS sites in retaliation for an attack last week that left three American citizens dead.
Julia Chapman has more from London.
The U.S. aided by Jordan, targeted ISIS sites across Syria with more.
than 100 munitions. Operation Hawkeye Strike involved fighter jets, helicopters and artillery to take
out weapons storage and other infrastructure thought to be used by the group. Three U.S. citizens,
two soldiers and an interpreter, were killed last weekend in Palmyra. No one has claimed responsibility,
but intelligence suggests ISIS was behind the attack. President Donald Trump says the strike was
ordered to prevent the jihadists from regrouping. We hit every side flawlessly. And
We are restoring peace through strength.
We're all over the world.
More than a thousand U.S. troops remain in Syria, tasked with fighting ISIS.
Trump says the action was carried out with the full support of the Syrian government.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegeseth says this is not the start of a new war,
but he vowed to continue killing America's enemies.

In Florida, members of the Trump administration will meet with Russian officials today
for another round of talks on ending Russia's war in Ukraine.
But there are no signs the Russian president is prepared to compromise.
Dominic Volaitis has the latest.
The Russian delegation is meeting with Steve Whitkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, in Miami today.
This follows U.S. talks yesterday with Ukrainian and European officials,
who earlier this week reported progress on security guarantees for Kiev as part of a proposed plan.

But Putin offered no compromise during his annual press conference in Moscow yesterday,
insisting Ukraine abandon its ambition to join NATO and withdraw from the four Ukrainian regions.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's president, Vladimir Zelensky, said financial support from the EU for Ukraine
has strengthened its position in future peace talks.

Hundreds of thousands of people attended the funeral of popular youth leader in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Sharif Osman Haddi died in hospital this week of gunshot wounds sustained on December 12th.
He was one of the leaders of a protest that saw former Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, pushed out of office.
Police say they know who the gunman was, but believe he's fled to India.

Well this morning, police in Welland, Ontario took a man into custody
following a standoff that lasted nearly a day.
The suspect was identified as 59-year-old Daniel Tronko.
Yesterday, he barricaded himself inside his home
after exchanging gunfire with police.
One officer suffered minor injuries
and was later released from hospital.
Constable Richard Hingley with Niagara Regional Police
says there were some ten.
