Court documents in Australia say the two alleged gunmen in last week's deadly massacre at a Hanukkah celebration recorded a video that tried to justify the attack that killed 15 people. Meantime, the state of New South Wales has recalled its legislature to vote on some proposed new laws. Chris Minze is the premier of New South Wales. Today we're introducing new laws, tough new laws, to protect the community to crack down on hate and strengthen public safety. The legislation bans, the public displays of terror symbols, outlaws violence, incitement to violence in New South Wales and gives police stronger powers during public assemblies. Today, the 24-year-old suspect, Navit Akram, was transferred from hospital to a jail.

Canceled flights or stranded passengers are just some of the consequences when airline workers are on strike or locked out. Canada's major airlines have all gone through this over the past two years. But as Denise Haydari explains, there could be rough skies ahead in 2026. Contract disputes aren't a tailwind for airlines as the new year approaches, even though Canadian travelers already faced big delays and cancellation. this year. And Westjet, their flight attendants have a contract that expires December 31st. And Canadians are going to be faced with situations where these contracts could potentially disrupt travel through 2026 and maybe even 27. In preparation for departure. But industry and labor experts say, even though contracts are already being negotiated, it could be months before any land, with no timeline on when or even if passengers could end up grounded. Starting point is 00:02:41 U.S. authorities continue the search for Ryan Wedding. He's the Canadian Olympian turned alleged cocaine kingpin. There's a $15 million reward for his capture. The FBI says the Sinaloa card. is protecting wedding in Mexico. The CBC's Jorge Barreira spoke with a cartel member about the case. We meet the cartel member in a safe house in Kuliacan, the capital of the northwestern state of Sinaloa.

He says he's heard wedding's name in the news and on social media, but he doesn't believe his cartel is protecting wedding. He says U.S. authorities have made wedding out to be a bigger deal than he actually is to make a big splash when they take him down. Wedding is also not top of mind for the Mexican military.
