There are two kinds of Canadians, those who feel something when they hear this music.
And those who've been missing out so far.
I'm Chris Howden.
And I'm Neil Kuksal.
We are the co-hosts of As It Happens.
And every day we speak with people at the center of the day's most hard-hitting, heartbreaking,
and sometimes hilarious news stories.
Also, we have puns.
Here Why As It Happens is one of Canada's longest running in most beloved shows.

From CBC News, the world this hour. I'm Mike Miles. Mexican authorities have conducted raids
in an apparent investigation into Canadian fugitive Ryan Wedding. The former Olympic snowboarder
represented Team Canada in 2002. Now the U.S. accuses him of heading a drug trafficking empire
and committing murder. Wedding tops the list of the FBI's most wanted fugitives. He's
currently believed to be hiding in Mexico. In a statement, the Mexican government says it
confiscated 60 high-end motorcycles, as well as drugs, artwork, and metals.
Wyatt, excuse me, wedding was not specifically named.
The statement says police carried out raids related to a former Foreign Olympian,
who's among the most wanted fugitives in the U.S.
Rescues and evacuations continue in Southern California,
battered by heavy rains in flooding.
Officials have declared a state of emergency for several counties,
and they say about 8 million people are at risk.
Steve Futterman reports from Los Angeles.
Angeles. It is a very wet Christmas day here in Los Angeles. After a brief break overnight,
the latest storm cell hit in the late morning, prompting new concerns. The first wave on Christmas
Eve resulted in mudslides, rock slides, and debris flows. One of the hardest hit areas was the
small town of Ritewood in the San Bernardino Mountains. It was essentially cut off. There have been
several deaths. In San Diego, a man was killed by a falling tree. His daughter overcome with
emotion. How do you go home on Christmas Eve and tell your kids that their grandpa's dead?
I still can't find the words. There is a high alert in areas that were hit in January's fires.
With vegetation burned out, there is little to hold barren mountains in place. The rains are
expected to continue into Friday. Steve Futterman, CBC News, Los Angeles.
Counterterrorism police in Turkey have detained 115 people suspected of being members of ISIS.
and they say the operation is still ongoing to track more than 20 others.
They're accusing the group of plotting attacks on Christmas and New Year's celebrations.
Istanbul's prosecutor's office says raids were carried out across the city
with officers seizing firearms, ammunition in documents relating to the plot.
Officials say the suspects had contact with ISIS operatives outside Turkey.
In his Christmas mass, Pope Leo is urging an end to all the world's current wars
and lamenting the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.
Leo, making a lot of the tents of Gaza,
the seven minutes exposed to the poge,
to the vento and to reddo.
Leo, making a point of the cold and windy conditions
plaguing those in Gaza's tent cities,
left vulnerable after more than two years of war.
The Pope is pleading for people to reject hatred and violence
and sending greetings to all Christians,
especially those in the Middle East.
Pache and stability for the Libano,
the Palestine,
Leo also expressed regret over the migrant situation in the U.S.
That follows his Christmas Eve comments where he said refusing to help strangers and the poor was like rejecting God.
