At least one person is dead and three others are injured after a shooting on Big Island Lake Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. RCMP are searching for two people considered armed and dangerous. Alexander Silberman reports. One man is dead and an active search for two armed men in northern Saskatchewan is ongoing. RCMP say the community of Big Island Lake. Kree Nation near the Alberta border is under a dangerous person's warning. People in the community
Starting point is 00:01:05 are being told to find a safe location immediately and lock their doors. Larry Wapiscaquan says his son, Neil, was shot and killed early Tuesday morning. And we're about to sleep when my brother called me and told me that my son got shot. Wapistoquan says RCMP were on scene, attempted CPR, but were unable to save his son's life. He says others were shot and taken to hospital. RCMP say they do not have specific details about the victim's injuries or how many require hospital treatment. Police are working to determine if the shooting is random or targeted. They say the two suspects are armed with a gun and were last seen riding an ATV. Seven healthcare facilities are now on lockdown as the search continues.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Alexander Silberman, CBC News, Edmonton. Emergency officials in BC say flooding from extreme weather has washed out some roads on Haida Gwai, residents are being told to avoid any non-essential travel. Catherine Garrett has more. Over the last 48 hours, an atmospheric river rushed into the island, washing out a portion of this road and isolating both sides from each other. People I've spoken to are concerned about the impact this will have on emergency health services as well as things like fresh groceries and gas as it operates as sort of a lifeline
Starting point is 00:02:25 between dodging geets, Skidgett, and Masset. There's no timeline on a fix. This has been closed for about a five-kilometer stretch right in the middle of the island near Jungle Beach. We are still waiting on more updates from authorities as to when this will reopen. Catherine Garrett, CBC News, Haida Gwai. That same weather system also brought heavy rain to parts of the North Coast, closing a stretch of Highway 16 between Prince Rupert and Terrace. Eurostar says some of its train services are getting back to speed.
Starting point is 00:02:56 A power problem forced the high-speed rail network to close. its channel tunnel for most of the day, canceling many trains just ahead of the new year. Travelers are being warned of five to six hour delays. The search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 is back on again, more than a decade after the plane vanished. Michelle Song has details. Starting point is 00:03:35 and spent 11 years campaigning for answers. Now, the Malaysian government says the search continues with the help of U.S. and UK-based robotics company, Ocean Infinity. It's one of aviation's biggest mysteries. Flight MH370 disappeared in March of 2014, carrying 239 people, including a Canadian couple, but most of whom were Chinese nationals. Ocean Infinity now aims to search over 15,000 square kilometers of the seabed, but a prior multinational search resulted in no answers. So all eyes will be on Ocean Infinity, and it will only be paid if the wreckage is found. Michelle Song, CBC News, Toronto.

The Canadians got a hat trick from White Horse. native Gavin McKenna to route Denmark last night, 9-1. McGenna is projected to go first in next year's NHL entry draft. But last night's victory was for family. It's a long ways from home wherever I usually play. So whenever you got some Yukoners in the building, and especially my family,
