check out As It Happens. I'm Chris Howdy.
And I'm Neil Kokesal. Every day we reach people at the center of the most extraordinary stories,
like the doctor who restored a patient's eyesight with a tooth.
Or a musician in an orchestra that plays instruments made out of vegetables.

From CBC News, the world this hour. I'm Karen Hauerlock. RCP say a dangerous person's warning is still in place on a First Nation in Saskatchewan.
Inspector Ashley St. Germain says one person has been shot and killed and three others injured at Big Island Lake Cree Nation, about 300 kilometers northwest of Saskatoon.
St. Germain says police are still searching for two armed suspects but can't confirm how many weapons they have.
We are continuing to investigate to try to narrow down who our suspects are and where they might be.
And that's where it's extremely important for the public to provide any information that they might have
to help us determine the direction the investigation is going and identify those suspects.
RCMP say the shooting has been confined to one area,
but they're still asking the community to stay in a safe location and lock their doors.
The suspects were seen traveling in an ATV, Big Island Lake Cree,

RCMP there have been notified.
The high-speed rail network connecting the UK with much of Europe is resuming some
services after a power issue forced Eurostar to shut down its channel tunnel for most of
the day, stranding thousands ahead of the new year.
The rail network is urging people to postpone any new trips.
John Northcott reports.
We were supposed to leave at 824 this morning and it is now 12.
Just one of the tens of thousands of Eurostar passengers who spent the day frustrated on both sides of the English Channel.
Officials say a problem with the power supply meant the trains couldn't leave and some were even stuck on route,
with delays of up to five hours and passengers left without food or water and a dwindling supply of toilet paper.
And we're stuck.
The shuttle, which carries cars and trucks, was interrupted as well, creating traffic jams around Dover and Folkston in south.
East England. The Eurostar Company says they hope to have full service resumed tomorrow, but
are advising people, if travelers don't already have a reservation, they're warned not to even
show up at the station. John Northcott, CBC News, London. Protesters are flooding the streets
of Tehran for a third day.
Iranians are demonstrating against worsening inflation and the devaluation of the country's
currency. The protests began Sunday after shopkeepers in Tehran's Grand Bazaar staged a strike
when the Iranian Real hit a record low against the U.S. dollar. The unrest is now spreading
to other cities across the country. There are reports security forces are using tear gas to
disperse crowds. The U.S. appears to be ramping up its vendetta against Venezuela. President
Donald Trump is talking about what's believed to be the first known American attack inside
Venezuela. After striking boats off the country's coast, Trump claims are smuggling drugs into the
U.S. Willie Lowry has the latest. There was a major explosion in the dock area where they
load the boats up with drugs. After months of escalation, the U.S. struck Venezuela earlier this month,
hitting a port facility on the coast. U.S. President Donald Trump says it's where alleged drug
boats are loaded up before shipping off for various parts of the world. U.S. media say a strike
was carried out by the CIA using drones.
The strike appears to have taken place just before Christmas.
Democratic Senator Chris Kuhn says he's stunned by the escalation.
Frankly, it's pretty stunning that President Trump would reveal a covert action like this by bragging about it.
The Trump administration says that it's at war with South American drug cartels.

Extreme flooding has washed out several roads on Haidaguay off BC's northern.
coast. The Haida nation says a lot of rain fell after a large snowfall. A five-kilometer stretch of
Highway 16 is closed in both directions, and people are being told not to try to bypass
closures because of dangerous conditions. Emergency supports are available for both the north
and south ends of the area that have been cut off from each other. And that is your world
this hour. For CBC News, I'm Karen Hauerlocker.
