This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

Parts of Calgary are now under water restrictions and a boil advisory that could stretch into the new year.
It all comes after a main critical to the city's water supply broke last night.
As Anise Haydari reports, another catastrophic break happened on the exact same street in 2024.
Calgary's Boness neighborhood flooded from a water main break.
Tuesday night saw firefighters rescuing 13 people from multiple cars trapped by water
overflowing on a major road.
And while nobody was injured, there are now restrictions on mass water use across the city.
To be clear, New Year's Eve is not canceled.
Jeremy Farkas is the mayor of Calgary.
We can still proceed, but we have to do so in a way that recognizes the constraints
that Calgarians exist in right now.
Those constraints also include boil water advisories for multiple neighborhoods.
This break happened in the same area that.
saw the same type of catastrophe back in June 2024.
But Chris Graham with the City of Calgary's utilities
says there was no indication of this problem in advance.
There was nothing in the monitoring or in the operation of the pipe,
the flows, the pressures that would have indicated an issue
before the pressure dropped at the control room.
There is no time frame yet on when repairs will be completed
or when the restrictions will be lifted.

Well, the countdown is on to the winter 2026 Olympics,
and today Canadians learned who will be on Team Canada
battling for men's hockey gold.
Josh McLean reports.
Sydney Crosby's golden goal from the Vancouver Olympics
etched into Canadian sporting history.
The hockey star is once again dawning team Canada's colors
heading to Italy to battle for gold.
His teammates announced earlier today,
Scott Salmond is an executive with Hockey Canada.
We're confident that the team that will be announced today
will make Canadians proud in February.
A host of Stanley Cup and four-nation champions, including 19-year-old Sharks forward, Macklin Sellebrini, and St. Louis Blues, Jordan Bennington, in net.
Connor McDavid secured his spot on the team earlier in the year, the first Olympic appearance for the Oilers superstar.
Former Team Canada gold medal winner Chris Pronger.
It's a humbling experience in something that these players will take with them for the rest of their careers and their lives.
Canada's first game is against the Czech Republic on February 12th.

Trump has announced the removal of the National Guard from several American cities.
The U.S. president saying on social media, troops are leaving Chicago, Los Angeles, and Portland.
Trump adds they will return when crime rates rise again.
Earlier this month, the U.S. federal court ordered an end to the nationalization of the California National Guard.
It's New Year's Eve across Canada, but most of the world is already in 2026.
That's how partygoers welcomed the new year in Paris tonight
with dazzling fireworks around the city's iconic monuments.
Here in Canada, residents of Newfoundland will be first to welcome 2026.
CBC radio is broadcasting a special program tonight until 3.30 a.m. Eastern Time.
It also runs on CBC television and CBC Gem.
As Canadians welcome 2026, the Governor General reflects on the past year
and looks ahead with hope for the nation.
In her New Year message to Canadians,
Mary Simon highlights the courage and unity
shown by communities across the country.
This past year, I witnessed extraordinary solidarity
unfold across our country
in the unity of communities affected by wildfires,
in your unprecedented economic cooperation,
and in the revitalization of indigenous cultures and languages.
In 2025, I saw Canada as a nation that is courageous, inclusive, and committed to building peace.
Simon also sends her best wishes for joy, health, and peace to all Canadians as we start the New Year.
And that is your World This Hour.

Thank you.
