According to police, the number of debt is being described as dozens. However, some local media are reporting the number of 40 killed. Officials are confirming that some 100 were taken to hospitals. So many injured, in fact, many suffering from burns that they had to be taken to hospitals around the country. Officials say there is a major response underway with police, fire,

Swiss authorities are known for prioritizing and forming the families of the dead in cases like this and hence say it is too early to provide further details. However, they do admit that because the resort area of Crenz, Montana is known for its world-class ski runs and is such a magnet for international tourists,
Starting point is 00:01:42 the number of dead could likely be from many countries. John Northcott, CBC News, London. The border crossing between Gaza and Egypt could soon reopen. Israel shut it down during the war. Blake Sifton explains from Tel Aviv. Israeli media reports say that under pressure from the Trump administration, Israel plans to announce the reopening of the Rafa crossing between Gaza and Egypt in the coming days.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Once a major conduit for aid, the crossing has been closed since Israel seized the city of Rafa in May 24 during the war with Hamas. The militant group had used tunnels under the crossing to smuggle weapons into Gaza that were used to attack Israel. The border was supposed to reopen as part of the ceasefire agreement in October. Israel has only expressed a willingness to open the crossing for the exit of Palestinians from Gaza. This was rejected by Egypt, which said that Israel was trying to displace the population by not allowing anyone back into the strip. Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly suggested reopening Rafa in both directions in a cabinet meeting last week, but dropped the idea under pressure from his far-right

Pope Leo celebrated New Year's Day Mass in St. Peter's Basilica today by delivering a special noontime prayer calling for peace. Leo mentioned that January 1st marks the church's World Day of Peace. Canada has completed the preliminary round undefeated at the WIHF World Junior Championship in Minnesota. made it four wins and four games defeating Finland 7-4 last night.
