This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

from cbic news the world this hour i'm wayne tibodeau about 40 people are dead and 115 others injured
most of them seriously after a fire at a crowded bar in the swiss elps new year's eve switzerland's
president is calling it one of the worst tragedies in the country's history john northcott has
details horrific stories of people trying to smash windows to escape from the basement club
with a steep, narrow staircase that made escape difficult.
But eyewitnesses suggest club staff carrying sparklers or flares
may have ignited the club's ceiling,
and then a catastrophic rapid spread of the fire trapped many,
most of them, in their early 20s.
Frantic parents arrived on the scene looking for their children
as victims were laid out in the street
and over 100 emergency personnel scrambled to rescue and treat the injury.
This man describes what he saw.
We were able to help carry.
I don't want to say corpses.
I think everyone who was out and kind of reactive survived,
but carrying bodies out of the fire.
Officials point out that the pain's taking process
of not only identifying the dead,
but officially determining the cause is underway
and are asking for the public's patients.
John Northcott, CBC News, London.
Officials in Calgary say they're making progress
to fix a catastrophic water main break yesterday.
The second major rupture in two,
years. In the meantime, a boil water advisory remains in effect for parts of the city.
Emergency Management Chief Susan Henry has this plea for residents.
Reducing water use right now is critical. Every leader saved helps stabilize the system and
speeds up our recovery. City officials say, so far it is not seeing any real reduction in usage.
In Saskatchewan, police are still searching for two armed suspects. Two days after a man was shot dead on
Big Lake Island Cree Nation near the Alberta border.
The CBC's Alexander Silberman has this update.
The search for these two men believed to be responsible for the shooting still remains active
and ongoing at this point.
And RCMP are still working to identify those two individuals.
We now know that the shooting took place in two separate locations in the community of Big Island
Lake Cree Nation.
One of those sites was in the center of the community, an area with many homes, and the other
spot where individuals were shot was near a gravel road just north of the center of the First
Nation. One person was fatally shot during these incidents. Another three individuals were shot as well
and survived. The latest update we got from RCMP is that those three surviving victims were in
hospital as of yesterday afternoon with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Now, we still don't
have a possible motive from RCMP. They say the investigation is ongoing.
the two suspects they're searching for, once again, not identified.
Police are only saying that these two men were last seen armed with a gun and riding an ATV.
That's the CBC's Alexander Silberman.
And in BC, a snowmobiler has died in an avalanche in northern interior.
