This ascent isn't for everyone.
You need grit to climb this high this often.
You've got to be an underdog that always over-delivers.
You've got to be 6,500 hospital staff, 1,000 doctors,
all doing so much with so little.
You've got to be Scarborough.
Defined by our uphill battle and always striving towards new heights.
And you can help us keep climbing.

From CBC News, the world is our. I'm Wayne Tibido.
We begin with breaking news. Several news agencies are now reporting that at least seven explosions
were heard around 2 a.m. Local time Saturday in Venezuela's capital Caracas. People rushed
into the streets. Parts of the city are now without electricity. This comes as the U.S. military has been
targeting alleged drug-smuggling boats.
Venezuela's government did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
We'll continue to follow this developing story and have more next hour.
The fire that killed 40 people in Switzerland was set off by sparklers on champagne bottles.
Investigators say they are also looking into whether the building safety regulations were followed.
115 people were injured, many severely burned.
Tamara Fresco is at the site of the fire.
standing in front of what used to be Le Bar, La Constellation.
We are in the middle, in the heart of the village of Grand Montana, in the Swiss Alps,
and people have been coming here all day to light candles, to drop flowers, and to pray.
This is a very small village, and most of the people who come here, even though it's very
touristic here, are locals who are still awaiting to hear from friends, from loved ones,
who have not been reached since the night of the fire.
This is a very painful moment, and what struck is how young these people are.
The bar was full that night. They were all celebrating New Year's.
We know some are in hospital. They've been badly burned.
We don't know in what city, because the number of people that are injured is so massive
that they had to transport them in other countries such as Italy, France, and Germany.
This is Tamara Alterresco, Radio Canada, in Cremontana in Switzerland.
The UN Secretary General says he's deeply concerned by Israel's move to ban dozens of aid groups from Gaza.
In a statement Friday, Antonio Gontas called the measures to be reversed via spokesperson.
He said the move will exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza already playing out.
Israel says that banned groups failed to comply with new registration rules,
which aimed to prevent Hamas from infiltrating aid groups.
Prime Minister Mark Carney will visit Paris next week for talks with Ukraine's allies as ceasefire negotiations intensify.
It's been nearly four years since Russia's full-scale invasion.
His office says Canada is working with so-called coalition of the willing to strengthen Ukraine's defenses, deter future aggression,
and push for the return of Ukrainian children taken during the war.
Well, hundreds of lost seabirds are showing up on Newfoundland's
roadways. And a rescue group is asking people to help the birds if they see them before it's
too late. Too late. The CBC's Leila Boudreau reports. They will die. There's no chance they can
get back to the ocean without our help. Longtime wildlife rescuer Karen Goss is pleading with people
to help out stranded dovekeys whose home is the Atlantic Ocean but are being blown in land
from a series of violent gil-force winds.
But people around the province have been reaching out to wildlife experts like her
and bringing the birds who cannot take flight on land back to the salt water.
Like six-year-old Brooke Hayden of Grand Falls, Windsor,
who says rescuing a tiny seabird this December was the highlight of her Christmas.
You should bring them back to the wildlife before it's too late.
Goss says thousands of birds have been cited, only though,
return to the sea will survive. Leila Baud won CBC News Torbay.
And finally, a big win for Team Canada.
So the two straight quarterfinal losses have been avenged.
And now it's on the face of Czechia.
Canada's juniors defeated Slovakia 7-1 in the quarterfinals of the World Junior Hockey
Championships Friday night. The team has failed to meddle at the tournament the past two years,
knocked out in the quarterfinals both times.
And that is your world this hour.
