NATO countries in Europe insist Arctic security must be achieved collectively with allies. On his truth social platform, Donald Trump now says Venezuela's interim authorities will be turning over between 30 and 50 million barrels of oil to the U.S., which will be sold at market price and the money controlled by him.
Starting point is 00:02:00 the U.S. has offered few timelines or plans on Venezuela's political future. Opposition leader Maria Karina Machado has been in hiding for months, but as Jorge Berrera tells us, that could soon change. I'm planning to go as soon as possible back home. Maria Konina Machado telling Fox News, her return to Venezuela is imminent, but she didn't say when. Lewis Carrera, an official with Vente Venezuela, Machado's political party says he thinks she could return in days.
Starting point is 00:02:30 It's what I believe, based on how I know her, says Carrera. He is the party's coordinator in the western Venezuelan state of Dachira, which sits next to Colombia. She is a woman who has a deep love for the country, he says. Carrera fled Venezuela after his home was raided in 2024. He says he believes Machado will be the next president. But the nation's political future remains murky. President Donald Trump has said the U.S. will run Venezuela for the short term, while acting President Delsey Rodriguez insists

Americans who took part in the January 6th riots five years ago are once again marching in Washington. In 2021, thousands of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in protest of Joe Biden's election win. Four people died, nearly 200 police officers were injured. Karen Pauls has more.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump continued efforts to rewrite the history of this assault, condemning those who investigated him for it, and downplaying his involvement. You know that the news never reported the words, walk or march, peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol. Meanwhile, inside the Capitol, Pamela Hemphill, also known as Maga Granny, spoke at a House Democratic event. The 72-year-old served two months in federal prison for taking part in the riots. Hemphill was one of more than 1,500 people Trump pardoned last year, but she didn't accept it. Why? Because it was a lie. January 6 was an
Starting point is 00:04:09 insurrection. I wrote the law. Hemphill credited the Capitol Police for protecting her when she was trampled, and she asked for their forgiveness. Karen Paul's, CBC News, Washington. say at least 25 people have been killed and more than 1,000 arrested in protests. They started in Tehran as a response to soaring inflation and the plunging value of the Iranian currency. The Iranian regime says the demonstrations are being provoked by foreign governments.
