Sabrina stepping into special crimes, where the stakes hit harder.
We want to find the person who did this so it doesn't happen again.
But this time, she can't do it alone.
I was brought here to be a partner.
Partners need trust.
And must learn to put her faith in others.
One last time, are you with us?
I didn't come this far.
To only come this far.
Allegiance.
New season.

from cbc news it's the world this hour i'm joe cummings we go first to the streets of minneapolis
ice out now ice out now that's protesters demonstrating today the day after thirty-seven-year-old
Renee Good was shot and killed in an altercation with ICE agents.
The protesters are demanding an end to the ice deployment in the city, and they're also
demanding accountability after the head of Homeland Security referred to Renee Good as a domestic
terrorist. And that call for accountability is also being made in Washington. Here is Senate
Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. Looking at the video, there seemed no justification for what these
agents did. There needs to be a full investigation at the federal level, although I have little
faith in the FBI at doing a fair investigation or DHS, but at the local level as well.
Meanwhile, the head of Minnesota's State Investigations Agency is saying the U.S. Attorney's Office
has barred it from taking part in the investigation into yesterday's shooting.
Agency officials say they've been told the investigation will now be led solely by the FBI.
And the agency says, without access to evidence and witnesses, the state's
investigative standards cannot be met.
In Ukraine today, more than 800,000 homes and businesses are without power,
following a series of overnight Russian drone and missile strikes.
It's Ukraine's acting energy minister, saying the strikes targeted energy facilities across the
country's southwest.
He says as many as eight mines were hit as well, forcing hundreds of workers to seek shelter.
The Australian government is in the process of establishing a royal commission in the wake of last month's mass shooting.
Fifteen people were killed when two gunmen opened fire on a Hanukkah celebration.
Here is Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
I will be recommending to the Governor General in an executive council meeting that will be held tomorrow
that a royal commission on anti-Semitism and social cohesion be established.
The Royal Commission would operate outside the National Commission.
trial proceedings. 24-year-old Navid Akram is charged with 15 counts of murder and committing
a terrorist act. With its water treatment facility in disrepair, a remote First Nation on the
coast of James Bay has been in a state of emergency now since the weekend. Local leaders are looking
for help from the military to help evacuate the community of about 2000. Jonathan Migno has
the latest. Cruise walked through raw sewage to move patients, medication,
and equipment out of Kassetewan's only clinic.
It's flooded because of a failure at the water treatment plant.
Tyson Wesley is the community's executive director.
He says the plan is to move everyone and everything to a nearby elementary school.
There's a whole list of issues that are happening all at the same time.
Wesley says the community is running out of bottled water.
It's pleading for the federal government to intervene.
That means evacuating residents to cities like Timmins and Capis Gasing.
But so far, only a few flights have been chartered.
We are in dire situation and the response that we're getting is not good enough.
Indigenous Services Canada did not respond to CBC's request for comment by deadline.
A new water treatment plan for Casetian could be years away.
That's because the community sits in a floodplain
and has been lobbying the government for years to move to a new location.
But there's still no clear plan on when that might happen.
Jonathan Migno, CBC News, Sudbury.
Legendary NHL goaltender, Glenn Hall, has died.
You played 502 consecutive games in the NHL.
Isn't that ridiculous, hey, like you worry about your job?
I certainly wasn't going to let those kids come in and take my job,
I stayed in there.
In a CBC interview after his retirement,
that's Hall talking about the NHL record he holds
for the most consecutive games played by a goaltender.
Between 1955 and 1962, he never missed a start,
appearing in 502 straight games.
Hall played for Detroit, Chicago, and St. Louis,
over his 16-year career and earned the nickname Mr. Goley.
Glenn Hall died this week in Stony Plain, Alberta.
He was 94.
And that is the world this hour.
I'm Joe Cummings.
