Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to the Young Turks, the online news show. Make sure to follow and rate our show with not one, not two, not three, not four, but five stars. You're awesome. Thank you. Be sitting pretty, looking cool, sitting pretty. Woo! The guy! Thanks, Chank you, Greta, and I'm sparing with you guys. So we, you know, often have news that could turn out badly.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Okay, let's just keep it real. But today there's a special economic news that could destroy the entire global economy. And Scott Besson, our treasury sector, basically admitted it. Great, looking forward to it. So we'll tell you about that in a minute. Hakeem Jeffries has betrayed us and is working with Jared Kushner. We'll explain why, which none of the rest of the press is explaining to you. They're pretending that it was about housing and affordability.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Come on, man. Jesus, it's embarrassing, right? Israel's found a new way to bribe our politicians. Joy, we'll explain that to you guys. And the Republicans are in an absolute panic over data centers. Their hand got caught in the data center jar. And so now tons of Republicans in Texas saying we're going to vote for the Democrats instead. And so that has sent the Republican Party reeling.
Starting point is 00:01:58 So we'll get to that a little bit later as well. Okay, listen, the most important story of the day, though, is something that you're not even alluding to, not even mentioning. You're looking good. Are you working on them gains? What's going on? Well, thank you. I appreciate it. You also look great. I love the lavender. And everybody knows that's my favorite color. And I'm not afraid to say it. But- Very brave.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Well, I appreciate anybody noticing. All right, so let's get started with the first story. We are launching an economic onslaught against Iran's financial connections around the globe. Well, I don't think there's any questions that the president's running out of options here. Our objective is to sever every economic lifeline that sustains this tyrannical regime until Tehran stands alone. We're probably in for a continuing prolonged war in Iran. Not probably, the war is now officially indefinite.
Starting point is 00:03:00 It is switched to economic chaos instead. All that is clear, guys, what might not be clear to you, as we're going to explain to this story is, they have figured out how they're They're gonna do a new level of sanctions after having sanctioned around for 50 plus years. And that new level is disastrous. And the person who confessed that it was potentially disastrous is our Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. So we're gonna tell you what they're planning and why it might lead to economic collapse and much higher interest rates for you on your credit cards, your mortgages, and everything else
Starting point is 00:03:33 that affects you. So buckle up and brace for impact on this disaster. Anna has a story. The real question is whether or not the Trump administration is actually gonna go through with this. But if you're wondering what the this is, let me give you the details. Because over the weekend, the Treasury Secretary wrote an op-ed for the Financial Times, announcing this new suite of sanctions against Iran, and more importantly, countries that
Starting point is 00:03:55 continue conducting trade or any type of business with Iran. So Besant wrote in the piece that at dawn begins an economic D-Day, the single greatest financial offensive ever marshaled against an adversary. So sanctions, but honestly what's different here, the regime's final refuge now lies in the self-deception of fearful nations that still believe accommodating aggression can secure a durable peace. Now missing from that equation is China, which I don't think is motivated by fear. China is motivated by the need of energy, the need for oil.
Starting point is 00:04:36 They actually use Iranian oil to make up 80 to 90% of their oil import. So that's something to keep in mind. Now as I give you more details, ask yourselves whether or not the United States with its depleted arsenal of weaponry is willing to engage in a potential war against China. So hold on that. So in other words, Besson is now threatening countries that do trade with Iran. And he does continue in his piece with the following. Let's take a look at the next graphic where he says that the alternative. for those who tether themselves to Tehran is the foreclosure of any path to lasting prosperity.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Any nation that serves as a financial artery of a withering regime should expect to share in its isolation. To become a sanctuary for terror is to become, in the eyes of the United States, a global pariah. Those who fear the danger of defying Tehran ought not to discount the cost of testing Washington. Now Bessent went on to share more details in a press conference this morning. Let's take a quick look. We are launching an economic onslaught against Iran's financial connections around the globe, around the globe. Our objective is to sever every economic lifeline that sustains this tyrannical regime until Tehran stands alone. Today we are launching our own. Today we are launching Operation Economic Outcast to foreclose every other option available to the Iranian regime.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Treasury has mapped every node, every facilitator, and every network that Iran has used to smuggle oil and evade sanctions. Beginning today, the actions of Treasury and other agencies will tighten the noose and block every potential source of revenue that funds the IRGC and the EU. the evil Iranian regime. We are enforcing a zero leakage approach. There will be no minimal breathing space for the regime to rebuild this capacity to inflict terror against America and the world. Now it's unclear whether the Treasury Secretary had just finished a jog, considering the fact that he sounded out of breath throughout this press conference. But nonetheless,
Starting point is 00:06:58 he then went on to talk a little bit about how he intends to weaponize the U.S. dollar, which comes without consequence for the United States, and we'll get into that in just a minute. Take a look. Let me be clear, any entity that facilitates money laundering on behalf of Iran will be removed from the US dollar system. Okay, so when I say that this would actually lead to consequences for the United States, I'm not the only one saying it. In fact, during the same press conference, Scott Besant said the same. Final video, let's take a look at that. You described this as an economic D-Day, but D-Day wasn't a threat of an invasion, and the U.S. didn't give a timeline to Germany.
Starting point is 00:07:41 So why not impose the sanctions today? Well, we are giving everyone the opportunity to remedy bad behavior. Why would I want to blow up the global financial system? We believe that it is important to level set and give people a cure period, but they should know that that will move very quickly. and that we are serious. So, Jangke says, we're not doing it today because it's gonna blow up the global financial system and we wanna give these countries a chance to do what we're hoping they're gonna do, which is listen to our demands.
Starting point is 00:08:18 But honestly, there's no reason to believe that China is going to cave to U.S. pressure, especially with President Xi Jinping set to visit Trump in the fall here in the United States. And Trump doesn't wanna blow up that meeting. Yeah. So guys, this Treasury Secretary just told you their plan is to blow up the global financial system. He literally just said it. He said, we don't want to blow it up today. That's why we're setting a deadline for later. And so if other countries do not comply with our absurd demands and deeply counterproductive demands, I'm going to come back to that in a second. If they do not
Starting point is 00:08:54 follow up with our demands, Scott Besson just told you, we are going to blow up the global financial system. That is a stunning admission. Look, maybe it'll take 24 hours, it probably will. Because the people on cable news are not, like, they don't really understand what's happening in news at all, right? They're not very well educated. They don't much know about the economy or foreign policy.
Starting point is 00:09:20 So their producers have to get them to learn all this stuff or at least write it down in their scripts. So I don't think they're understanding the panic that should be happening right now. So how would we blow up the global financial system? Because what I was curious about, and I did a video yesterday, a long video about why this whole economic war could lead to catastrophe, I left one thing out because I didn't know what they meant by extra sanctions. We've already done 8,000 different sanctions on Iran.
Starting point is 00:09:51 We've done every kind of sanction we could imagine. So I was like, what do they have up their sleeve that I can't even think of? And it turns out they did have something I couldn't think of. taking other countries off the dollar system, are you insane? It is insane. That's not gonna, look, that'll hurt them, but it'll hurt us a lot more. So look, people say that sometimes and but they never explain it. I need you to understand.
Starting point is 00:10:16 The entire world uses the American dollar is basically their reserve currency and how they trade, and it's become the global currency. If they come off the dollar as a global currency, that would mean that our interest rates go up significantly. So number one, that $40 trillion in debt will pay a much higher interest rate. We already pay over a trillion dollars a year in interest, and that will go up substantially for our debt and our deficit and all the money that we have to pay. But on top of that, interest rates in the private system will also go up substantially.
Starting point is 00:10:54 So your mortgage will go up, your car payments, your credit card payments, it'll be economically backbreaking for us. And for the whole world, that's why Besson just said it would blow up the entire financial system. But that's not all, it would also damage the US in that right now, because the global currency is the US, we have the ability to do much tougher economic sanctions and people cannot escape those sanctions because we're the global currency. When we're not the global currency, we lose one of our economic tools.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Now look, I don't think we've used that tool in a way that's really helped America and it's hurt the rest of the world, these economic sanctions, but that would now no longer be in our toolbox. And whenever there's global trade deals, they check with us because we have the reserve currency. Now when there will be trade deals, they don't need the US. They won't need to check with us. We lose a tremendous amount of our military power and our economic power, let alone the almost near certain collapse that it would create, not just for us, but for the entire global
Starting point is 00:12:02 economy. So Anna, we're going to play chicken with the entire world. And either this is a bluff, and if this is a bluff, then that's it, no country's ever gonna listen to us on any threat, period. I think we're already there, to be honest with you. gets to the other problem. If you're playing chicken with the world and everyone knows you're the biggest bluffer at the table, they're not going to swerve. Picture this, it's 1 a.m. you tell yourself just one more scroll through social media, and suddenly you're spiraling
Starting point is 00:12:34 over the latest political dumpster fire. That spiral doesn't just exhaust your mind. It actually spikes your internal body temperature. And when your body stays hot, you can never hit that deep restorative sleep. So the fix? It's not a meditation app. It's your bed temperature. Enter Chili Pat 2.0. That's www.w.com.Sleep.com. dot m e slash t yt free shipping free returns and a 30-night trial the headlines will still be there in the morning you might as well wake up ready for them they're going to make you swerve and if we don't swerve then we do it head-on collision that's that's what we're in my opinion headed for and you look just to kind of put it in real world terms that is easy to understand so when we do
Starting point is 00:14:07 trade with china for instance right we do it through u.s dollars right because it is the reserve currency. You can imagine a day in which China says, all right, US, you really need our rare earth minerals badly, but we're not going to sell you our rare earth minerals with US dollars. We're not going to take US dollars. We want gold instead. You know, that's an example of how this could play out in real world terms. And look, I do think that Secretary Besson is bluffing, because I do think that he is worried about blowing the global economy. And I know, I know that he's, that he values the fact that we have the reserve currency, but the fact that we've been weaponizing the U.S. dollar by doing these sanctions, and this isn't the first time, obviously we have a long
Starting point is 00:14:51 history of doing this, that has also led to countries finding loopholes or workarounds, right? So for instance, the Swift system, which is used to process the money in international trade, well, the countries that we've sanctioned have found a workaround and have created a completely different system other than Swift in order to process that money. Which I think is really fascinating stuff. So I'm gonna tell you a couple more things about that. So if they do a workaround and they, so then people don't need to buy treasuries anymore. That's part of the reason why our interest rate would go up.
Starting point is 00:15:25 If people don't need to buy treasuries anymore, we're hurt dog, don't ask us if we're all right in a million different ways. Then we're in the open market for treasuries and the rate could go soaring because they don't need need to buy it anymore. And what happens when Bricks finds a system that goes around us? Whether it's gold currency or maybe they go, you know what? Who's the second largest economy in the world? China is. Why don't we use the Chinese currency? What is Bricks?
Starting point is 00:15:50 It's Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa. By the way, tons of other countries too. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iran. So these are some of the largest economies in the world combined together. They're larger than us. So if they go, oh, you want to see it off the dollar, no problem. And Iran's part of that group. So they're basically saying kick Iran out of bricks, otherwise you won't be able to use
Starting point is 00:16:17 the dollar anymore. And bricks could easily say, don't threaten us with a good time. You want our currencies or our system to be the global reserve currency? That gives us so much more power than you. And so this is a game of chicken we should not be playing. This is a bluff we should have never made. And you know the other person who agrees with me is obviously Scott Besson, because that was a slip up. He should not have said this will blow up the global financial system if we follow
Starting point is 00:16:46 through on the thread. But he couldn't help himself. So that means there's only two possible places where this dumbass idea came from. One is Trump's good, why don't we do it? And I'm positive that best. It was like, no, no, no, no, no, it'll blow up the whole system, right? Or honestly, more likely, as you're going to see a little bit later in the story, the Israelis. Because the Israelis think, who cares if we blow you guys up? You're just our chattel anyway. I'd be happy to see it. Yeah, let's keep it 100, they'd be happy to see it. So here, I'll just give that to you right now.
Starting point is 00:17:15 So it's the last graphic. Prime Minister of Israel immediately puts out a tweet, Benjamin Nanyahu saying, congratulations President Trump and Secretary Besson. On the latest sanctions against the Iranian regime, you just lay exact a steep price from that cruel dictatorship and from those who assist its continued aggression. In other words, good job, little servant boys. Good job, little doggies. We told you, go endanger your own, your economy and the entire global economy because we want more
Starting point is 00:17:47 war and we demand that Iran be destroyed on behalf of Israel. We have zero interest in this. And now we're gonna blow up the entire economy because Israel would like to be the only regional superpower as one of their pundits admitted on Fox News just the other day. In fact, during the press conference featuring the Treasury Secretary, he also He also said to Iran's military, put down your arms and overthrow the regime. What are we doing? What are we doing?
Starting point is 00:18:19 We should not even be at war with Iran. Iran didn't harm us, they didn't have the capacity to harm us. Their weapons can't reach the United States. Because of this war, our military bases in Gulf countries have been completely destroyed. Our Gulf allies have been harmed without the United States having the capability to defend them, this has been a complete, another disaster for the United States. And for what? In what way would we even benefit from this war if we were able to successfully carry out
Starting point is 00:18:49 with the Israelis demanded of us, which was regime change in Iran? Well, I mean, it's just absolute lunacy. And it goes to show you how much of a liability our alliance with Israel really is. We should never have been in war with Iran in the first place. But here we are. Yeah, and so as long as we're allies with Israel, They don't care about us at all. They're a different country.
Starting point is 00:19:13 They care about their own interests. Right. And like I said, one of their pundits on Mark Levins show was like, we're not going to be a regional and global superpower. Like they're bragging about it. And she earlier in the segment, she said, and you know what, your gas prices are going to be higher, but that's a price I'm willing to pay. Yeah, if you're in Israeli, us paying higher gas prices and higher interest rate and
Starting point is 00:19:32 higher this and higher that is a price you're willing to pay, right? Because you're not paying it, we're paying it. She's a TV plastic surgeon, okay? So she's totally fine to absorb higher gas prices for her precious Israel. But we, the United States, are supposed to be a sovereign country, not a slave to a tiny, irrelevant foreign country in the Middle East. Okay, look, last warning I'll give, and this one is not for us, and for the public, it doesn't really matter, because your opinion doesn't matter, our opinion doesn't matter, there's only
Starting point is 00:19:59 one opinion that matters in terms of American foreign policy, and that's Benjamin Netanyahu. And that's why if you vote for Biden or you vote for Trump, you get Netanyahu. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. You vote for Akeem Jeffries is Speaker of the House or Mike Johnson is Speaker of the House. You get Netanyahu. It doesn't matter, okay? So my warning is to Israel.
Starting point is 00:20:20 So, and this isn't about anything we're gonna do, okay? This is you morons, you lunatic fascist cult that is totally out of control. Do you understand that if you destroy the American economy, that Americans are going to be furious with you. No amount of your BS propaganda, I don't care if you buy every cable news anchor and their aunts and their cousins and their kids, and you buy every politician, you buy every priest, you buy every single leader in this country, it's not going to matter because we already know it's Israel.
Starting point is 00:20:55 Over 60% of the country already knows it's Israel that's doing all of this. And so if their leaders go, now, hey, good American boys and girls and dogs, sit, sit for Israel, we're not gonna sit. And it doesn't matter what we say. There is going to be a rage against Israel and very, very justifiably. That is going to change the dynamic of our relationship with Israel. In a way, apparently these lunatics don't understand. And also- Forget being allies, forget milking us for all we've got.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Forget the hundreds of billions you've taken off of us. Forget your emerging militaries and technologies. Forget all of that. You will become our enemies, our enemies. Have you ever been an enemy of America? It doesn't end well. So good luck, keep pressing, keep putting that boot on the neck of Trump and every other dog that you have obviously bought, purchase here in America, and you can get your dogs on cable
Starting point is 00:21:51 TV to pretend that you're the victim or something, and to pretend this war isn't for you, but it isn't going to work. You cause this collapse, and there will be a fury like you've never seen. I totally agree with you on that. All right, well, we gotta take a break. When we come back, we'll talk a little bit about the illusion of a two-party system here in the United States. Very much living under a uniparty. We're gonna show you the latest example, proving it.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Why would I want to blow up the global financial system? We got a moron here. All right, let's go to members on t.t.com. I'm doing this blind. Wage says, Ola, TYT, fam. Another week of buffoonery awaits. Well, dangerous buffoonery, but you're right. Music Matter says happy TYT Monday to you all, sending positivity to you all for brighter days
Starting point is 00:22:45 to come. Well, I love that. And we try to be happy warriors here, but Israel does make it tough on us by constantly abusing the American people and constantly having bunch of liars all over media. Oh, no, it's not Israel, you're all anti-Semite. Now they're saying, by the way, they're criticizing Israel endangers Jewish lives. Please, please, yeah, get the F out of here, man, bunch of disgusting. pathetic liars. Come on, come at me with that anti-Semi BS. Come on, do it. Make yourself more unpopular
Starting point is 00:23:18 and loathe than hated, okay? Churcha de Lenosis says, hi, all. So I guess we kissed the U.S. dollar as a reserve currency goodbye. Ex-U.S. countries are already booking the debase the U.S. dollar. And this just gave them the push the world will need to seek an alternative to the U.S. dollar. Of course, they're making that plan right now. I mean, I forgot to say that in the story. China, the minute they hear the story, they're like, oh, they called Russia, first, India, second, they're making a plan right now. Which currency are we switching to? Because these morons gave us to some leeway some time to figure out when we're going to switch off the dollar. Thank you for making our day, right? So, God, they're so,
Starting point is 00:23:57 pseudo-dragon says anybody doing business with Iran already has a way to get around the US dollar system. Jumping, Jack says, give me everybody a warning before we strike, I guess more of a softy day, because they realize if we do it now, the kind of global economy will instantly collapse. So that's why they're not doing it now. Theater goddess says, I'm hoping the donors are smarter than the administration and put a stop to this. The problem is long of the donors support it.
Starting point is 00:24:21 The global financial system. I'm back on T.YT. Jen Canaan. And Bartor instantly clipped up Besson saying, why would I want to blow up the entire global financial system? because Israel ordered you to and you're their servant, their pathetic little servant, that's why. And you'll all be judged for this.
Starting point is 00:24:59 You think you're not going to get caught forever and ever? We all already know the truth. So keep paying off your media, okay, Israeli propaganda, Israeli propaganda. Keep doing it. Keep doing it. See, it doesn't matter, that media is not even going to exist in a couple of years. We're all going to say they're a bunch of traitors and nobody's going to watch them. All right.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Anyways, let me give you guys some positive news. Our members that have switched over to Noble mobile or any of our viewers that have switched over reporting tons of positive news back. They're saving a lot of money. Latest offers 10 bucks for the first month. So jump on it, that'll save you even more money. We all get cash back if we don't use our data with Noble mobile mobile. But we're all on Wi-Fi, so we don't use that much data.
Starting point is 00:25:44 I usually pay in the 30s. The max you could pay is 50. I mean, I was paying so much more than that. You're probably paying so much more than that. Why pay more than you have to? It doesn't make any sense. It's T-Mobile's 5G system. It works terrific, nothing on your phone, genius.
Starting point is 00:25:59 So t-y-t.com slash switch, please save yourself money. The earlier you do it, the more benefits you'll get, t-y-t.com slash switch. All right, let's go to our next story. So bombshell report in New York Times talks of a secret meeting between Jared Kushner and Hakeem Jeffries. So why has Hakeem Jeffries betrayed us and is talking to the enemy? Because he claims, or the New York Times claims, they're going to work on housing and affordability together. And Jared Kushner is going to be a big ally of the Democrats in lowering prices. And the rest of the media have collectively decided to be morons and believe that cover
Starting point is 00:26:42 story. Why did they actually get together? We'll tell you. Anna has old story. Okay, this is one of the prime examples of Jank Uger being 100% correct in the way legacy media analyzes a story. Because fact of the matter is, Hakeem Jeffries, the House Minority Leader, is bought by Israeli interests. We will prove that in just a minute. And rather than focus on what Kushner's priorities are and why he would actually want to meet with Kushner, they're going ahead and regurgitating this BS about how like, oh,
Starting point is 00:27:11 they're thinking about like housing costs, what they can do to like put their heads together. and do something about it. Sure, sure, sure. So let's get to the details of this meeting as reported by the New York Times. So the Times spoke to five people with knowledge of this meeting, and it was held in a private space in New York City and was described as a catch up for Kushner and Jeffries. I guess they're buddy buddies that need to catch up. That's definitely true.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Right. And they have worked together in the past and they like each other because they're actually on the same team. It's just not our team. Now, in a situation in which you have two members of opposing political groups coming together to actually work on policy that does improve the lives of Americans, I'm in favor of that. I think that's great. That's not what's happening here.
Starting point is 00:27:57 So here's what we're supposed to believe. During the recent meeting, the pair discussed housing, immigration, and the high cost of living as potential areas of common ground. Oh yeah, Jared Kushner real worried about our cost of living. Come on, guys. How do you write this garbage? Cushner suggested that Jeffries should meet with the White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles, two people with knowledge of the meeting said.
Starting point is 00:28:21 Just as a reminder, Wiles helped to get Benjamin Netanyahu reelected in Israel back in 2020. She worked as a consultant for his campaign. But anyway, I digress. Let's move on. So no mention at all of Israel or foreign policy in the New York Times report about this meeting. They write that Kushner is frequently consulted by a number of Trump's advisors, and he has told people that if anything bipartisan is to get done with Congress, Jeffries is the most serious person among Democratic leaders.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Wiles, he has said, is the most serious inside the West Wing, most serious in what regard? In regard to being a gatekeeper and preventing certain information from getting to Donald Trump, in regard to setting up a situation room meeting in which Benjamin Netanyahu was there, the former head of Mossad, Barnea was there, and they lied to Trump and convinced him to go to war against Iran, which has been completely and utterly disastrous. Is that what we're talking about here? But anyway, let's talk a little more about the issues that were allegedly discussed and the positions of these two individuals on those issues. So in a statement, Jeffries did not even acknowledge that the meeting took place probably because he knows that Democratic voters
Starting point is 00:29:41 will engage in a bit of backlash about it. But here's what he did say. Throughout this Congress, Republicans have adopted a my way or the highway approach to governing that has failed the American people to stop the madness. We have repeatedly made clear that an extremist approach will not work and will be met with forceful opposition. So remember, the Democrats are expected to take over the House following the midterm elections. So is this Hakeem Jeffrey's way of saying, we're gonna have a little more leverage as Democrats in Congress? And as a result, we're going to cave to what the Trump administration wants?
Starting point is 00:30:20 Is that what he's like priming us for? And he also says, we are fighting for an affordable America. The question is whether Republicans will join us. That's not a question. You're supposed to be the leader of the Democrats. and you're like, oh, I wonder if the Republicans are such good people that they'll join us in the fight to get to more affordability. When has the Republican Party ever done that? They've never done, even by the way, even if they had done that, you're the leader of the opposition.
Starting point is 00:30:48 You're not supposed to be helping them with their marketing. And they've never done that. So now the leader of the Democrats in the House thinks, well, you know what? The Republicans might change their entire governing philosophy overnight and help the American people, And I'm gonna tell all of you guys about how they might be wonderful people who help you right before the elections. I mean, on that alone, what are you doing, let alone the real reason for this meeting? Real quick, just a very brief video that highlights and bolsters what Jake is saying. Take a look.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Your plans for the housing bill, Mr. President. I don't know. I think it's so unimportant by compared to the Save America. There's so much talk about, oh, we're going to drive housing prices down. I don't want to drive housing prices down. I want to drive housing prices up. They came in and they said, affordability, they made up the word
Starting point is 00:31:40 because that's the only thing they're good at, although I'm going to make it upwards. You signed that housing bill. It hasn't been sent to me yet. It's coming, I understand, and then I'll make it. Here's what I would like to sign. Much more than a bill, a big deal. It's a yawn.
Starting point is 00:31:56 Me, compared to the Save America Act, just about everything is a big yon. Just a big yawn, who cares about affordability? It's a word that was made up by the Democrats. And Hakeem Jeffries wants us to believe that by secretly meeting with Jared Kushner, he's trying to plot some sort of strategy or policy that would lower housing costs, please. So look, New York Times gets a scoop on this meeting, but how do they get the scoop? They got a leak.
Starting point is 00:32:24 So what's the price of the leak? The price is you frame it in the way that we want you to frame it. By the way, if you don't know, that is a deal that reporters make. The national reporters make all the time. They implicitly go, yes, we will lie to our audience as long as you give us a scoop, right? So we're gonna de facto lie in this case by quoting you. Now technically I'm not lying, I'm just quoting you on what the meeting was about. And I'm not going to give the, I swear to you, I'm not gonna give you the audience, the readers,
Starting point is 00:32:55 the context of Republicans have proposed nothing on affordability, not now, not before, not ever. Jared Kushner has never shown a single interest in affordability as a topic. But here, even if you don't agree with that, even though that's just empirical, one thing is absolutely certain that even a New York Times reporter couldn't deny, which is Jared Kushner doesn't work on domestic policy. He works on foreign policy. Now, he doesn't have any real role in the U.S. government, not any technical role, but he is our lead negotiator, peace negotiations with who? With Iran and Hamas and sometimes Lebanon, but mainly Israel. And in fact, as we showed you last week, Jared Kushner went and met with Netanyahu for four
Starting point is 00:33:43 hours, and he came out and said, oh, we're scrapping our peace deal with Hamas. It's now officially dead. We are going with the Israeli position instead, which is that Hamas must disarm everything, nothing left, and then Israel might at that point do some of the things that they promised, but that they will do nothing in gradual steps like we told you. In other words, I work for Israel. But my godfather, Benjamin Nand Yahoo, stays at the Kushners. Every time he goes to America in the past, he literally slips in Jared Kushner's room. That's how close they are.
Starting point is 00:34:13 So he's like, I'm going to listen to Papa. And so Jared Kushner, and whether you agree with that or not, and you think no, Jared Kushner's are American and representing American interests and holding Israel accountable, which again is counterfactual, cannot be shown in any way, shape, or form. But that's okay. Even if you believe that, you cannot deny that he, his field is foreign policy. That is the logical thing that Hakeem Jeffries would be talking to him about, not domestic policy. But nevertheless, you're lied to about why they had the meeting.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Why they had the meeting is super obvious. It's so that Hakeem Jeffries could assure Jared Kushner, and hence the Israeli lobby, Yes, don't worry, if I'm Speaker of the House, we will still be your loyal servants. We will not let any of these newcomers, no matter how many offices they win, will never allow them to have power, no matter how many votes you need. I will find you exactly that number of Democratic votes to make sure you're funded forever. We merge our militaries and anything else that you offer. And, you know, they said they was held in a place in New York.
Starting point is 00:35:21 I would be shocked if it wasn't held in the home of one of the largest Zionist donors in this country. 100%. Okay, because that's where all of these meetings are, but I'm sure it's about affordability. So given this new story, given the fact that Hakeem Jeffries met with Kushner secretly in private, and we're all being lied to about what they were actually discussing, I think it is incumbent upon progressives in Congress to take a stand and say, we do not support Hakeem Jeffries as a Speaker of the House. Now, will we hear from a single progressive, including those who vociferously defended Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker of the House? People like Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,
Starting point is 00:36:04 does she still support Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker of the House? Honestly, like publicly in their statements, I don't know anyone in Congress that has been more vocally supportive of Hakeem Jeffries than AOC. And that is unconscionable. To be fair to AOC, there's not a single Democrat that said that Akeem, Jeffrey should not be our speaker. Does a progressive caucus exist? I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Is there a single progressive in Congress? So this, I mean, remember, Hakeem Jeffries just last weekend said, oh, we're not gonna do Medicare for All. And then he was asked, by the way, a rare good question on mainstream media, wait, weren't you a co-sponsor Medicare for all for over a decade? And why did you change your mind now? Now just as you're going to gain power and be Speaker of the House and could actually push it to a vote.
Starting point is 00:36:47 His mind wasn't there in the first place. We all know that. He was lying. We told you he was lying. We unearth so many Democrats who were co-sponsors for Medicare for All when it was hot and it was popular to do and they were gonna run for higher office. And we told you they were frauds and they didn't mean it if ever came up for a vote. They'd vote, no.
Starting point is 00:37:08 And now Hakeem Jeffries said it publicly. Oh, no, no, I'm not gonna do Medicare for All. And why do you think that he's going around reassuring everyone right now? Because it looks like the Democrats are about to win. That's what all the polling shows. So he goes on TV and reassures his donors in big pharma and the drug companies. Don't worry, don't worry, we're still sellouts. I'm still your bitch and servant.
Starting point is 00:37:30 And so if the Democrats gain power, I promise we won't do anything. We will do the same BS we've done for all of your lives. There was nothing we could do. Oh, Philibuster, parliamentarian, don't worry, don't worry, I'm on your side, Mr. Donor, I begged you, I'm your servant. So he does that for all the drug companies and all the drug companies. insurance companies. Then this weekend, he goes and meets with Kushner, and he's like, don't worry, Israel, my biggest benefactor, I will always be your servant. I am, and I will make sure
Starting point is 00:38:01 that none of those Democrats that are opposed to Israel have any power. So don't worry, if the Democrats win the elections, you're still the boss of us. And so the only housing prices they discussed there, Anna, was how much housing prices are going to be in the condos in the Trump Riviera in Gaza. In fact, I mean, look, that is what the common interest here is between Kushner and Hakeem Jeffries. Now look, Hakeem Jeffries isn't a cheap prostitute. He's a pretty expensive prostitute.
Starting point is 00:38:29 And if you don't believe me, let's take a look at Graphic 7 here, where you will see that the Israel lobby has bought him for nearly $2 million. $1.741 million. And money talks. Now, as far as Jared Kushner goes, what is his number one interest right now, profiting off of The blood-soaked land in Gaza, let's take a look. There are real fears on the part of Arabs, and I'm sure you talk to a lot of them who think, once Gazans leave Gaza, Netanyahu's never going to let them back in.
Starting point is 00:39:04 Maybe, but I'm not sure there's much left of Gaza at this point. So, you know, if you think about even the construct, like, you know, Gaza, Gaza was not really a historical precedent, right? It was the result of a war. And so my sense is, is I would say, how do we deal with? with the terror threat that is there so that it cannot be a threat to Israel or to Egypt, right? I think that both sides are spending a fortune on military. I think neither side really wants to have, you know, a terrorist organization enclave right between them. And Gaza's waterfront property, it could be very valuable. But I think from Israel's perspective,
Starting point is 00:39:34 I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up. Of course, Kushner lacks any self-awareness because you want to talk about terrorism. he is part and parcel of a terrorist regime that is carrying out or is advocating for the mass slaughter of civilians in a tiny little enclave of land that he's salivating over for his own little business deals. And he's hoping, you know, Jeffries will help him out with that too. Yeah, first of all, I want to do a blanket correction. I've said on a couple of occasions that Jeffries has taken five and a half million
Starting point is 00:40:08 from the Israeli lobby. I was confusing him with Schumer. And so he's only taken 1.7 million, as you saw in that graphic, that's the latest numbers. Number two, the media says, well, of course that doesn't affect him. Politicians are such angels. And Hakeem Jeffries in particular is practically a saint. That's why $1.7 million, he totally ignores, doesn't care about it at all. And he just objectively loves Israel and is a hardcore Zionist, not because of the 1.7 million,
Starting point is 00:40:43 because he was born that way. You know, he woke up one day and he's like, oh, God, I hope we give Israel everything. And if they need wars that'll destroy our economy but help them, get us killed, but help them. And they need trillions of dollars of wars. Golly, gee, I'm going to do that out of the blue because I love Israel so much. Come on, how moronic do you have to be to not realize these guys are all bought? Really? Come on, New York Times reporter, I challenge any of you to a debate on whether these politicians
Starting point is 00:41:10 are honest, or if the 1.7 million purchases them, period. It's obvious bribery, and they're obviously corrupt, and they obviously work for Israel. By the way, in domestic policy, they work for Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson and ExxonMobil, etc. But all of you liars never tell your readers that. Instead, you pretend that money in politics is irrelevant. Lastly, Anna brought this up earlier. So we're kind of known for talking to the right wing.
Starting point is 00:41:40 So we're making this, you know, criticism? Criticism. So how does that job? Guys, when the right wing comes to you, Marjorie Taylor, Green, Joe Kent, whoever it might be, and they go, you were right. We're totally against this war. We're against Trump during this war. You were totally right about Israel.
Starting point is 00:41:58 We're now against Israel. We're against Trump supporting Israel. And we're now totally done with Trump. They have come to us, that is a good thing. Heim Jeffries is going to Jared Kushner. Okay, if I'm wrong, and after that meeting, Jared Kushner turns into a progressive populist and like, it dedicates his life to affordability, well then I'll come out and say, oh my bad, then they should have met, then they should have met, right?
Starting point is 00:42:23 Yeah, the guy who tried to buy an island in Albania for his like, you know, bunker needs, for his underground bunker need? Why do you need the underground bunker? Why is Trump so obsessed with the underground military bunker, you know, beneath the White House? Because Israel is planning to use nukes or have us use nukes. Okay, so, but you will all see with your own eyes that Jared Kushner does no such thing. He's never cared about anyone that wasn't a billionaire. He's not going to do anything about affordability.
Starting point is 00:42:48 And you will see with your own eyes that after the Democrats who win the House, which is almost certain now, Hakeem Jeffries will betray you. And he will vote with Israel. And he will make sure that enough Democrats vote with Israel that they get every single thing they want. And then at that point, if the rest of the Democrats are still servants of Hakeem Jeffries, then we will go nuclear on those Democrats. Because that means, look, then third parties become much, much, much more realistic in 2028. Because that would be the Democrats saying, it doesn't matter how much you vote for us. You can give us 100% of Congress and the White House and 100% of the Supreme Court.
Starting point is 00:43:27 And it's not going to matter. We're going to serve Israel and all the donors anyway. I just, look, this is like the one main point of contention between the two of us, because I think I'm already at a place that I think you're gonna eventually get to, which is, there is no hope with the mainstream Democratic Party. No, there's one hope. There isn't, okay, because the establishment, those in positions of real power in the Democratic establishment, the leadership of the Democratic establishment, thinks that they can
Starting point is 00:43:55 keep doing the same thing they've been doing after winning elections, which is screwing their voters over. So Anna, that is not a point of contention between us. That is obviously true. And so I'm not, look, and I already, we already tried taking over the Democratic Party through Congress. It was called Justice Democrats. And it would turn it, unfortunately, turned into a failure because the people that got elected
Starting point is 00:44:15 decided that they care more about their own egos and careers and didn't open the gates behind them. They acquiesced. And they're now, like, AOC is like the biggest fan of the establishment. Let's be honest about it. Every time she goes on TV, she's like, oh yeah, we're all wrong and Hakeem is right and establishment right is right and Joe Biden was the greatest. She remember the very last people supporting Joe Biden from dropping out, even after
Starting point is 00:44:38 the debate was, and it breaks my heart by Bernie and AOC. And they were like, no, Biden, Biden, the corporate Democrat, right? So what the hell is going on here? So that failed. And I'm under no illusions. The minute she went in, the leader of the people who was supposed to open the gate behind them was like, oh, no, no, slam that gate shut. No primaries.
Starting point is 00:44:57 I'm not supporting anyone against my coworkers, okay? So that dream is gone. Now there is a dream that is obvious and it's not a dream, it's super easy, it's not super easy to do, but it's super easy to understand, which is we do what Trump did in the Republican party. We have one guy go into the primary and win it and run against the Democratic Party, run against the establishment, run against Israel, and I nearly guarantee you victory. Then once you have the presidential candidate, you have the whole party.
Starting point is 00:45:29 You can replace everyone at the DNC and you start giving out the orders. And of course, yes, the establishment Democrats are crooks, they're corrupt, and they will oppose the candidate. It doesn't matter, you crush them because you're now the leader of the Democratic Party. If we don't win the primary in 2028, the Democratic Party's dead. Well, we've got more economic news when we return. We'll talk a little bit about inflation. ongoing ridiculous trade war with Canada and more, don't miss it.
Starting point is 00:45:59 All right, let's go to super chat. Elliot ZP says, don't underestimate the resolve of these guys to completely destroy this country for Israel's smallest gain. No, I don't underestimate that at all. I mean, if Israel thought that they could get, you know, one more square mile of Lebanon or Syria or Gaza, they'd destroy all of America. They wouldn't care one second. Look, we're not talking about this because it's uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:46:42 although Anna started talking about it, but for American Jews, I've never seen them care about chosen people who are believing that nonsense, that fairy tale, right? But tons of people in Israel don't view other human beings as fully human. So that's why they don't care about anyone else at all. That's why to them, like a million Palestinians versus one Israeli is not an open question or a hard question. It's supremacism. They're like, they're not humans.
Starting point is 00:47:10 We are the humans. They are, it's a Nazi ideology. It's toxic nationalism, which is Naziism, okay? And so it's a cruel, cruel trick of fate in history that it wound up this way, but it is. GKN, KR, Dan, writes, Jen, Merhava, Turkey's in the security and the, seviya's, and Israel-is-Savashin, why, disheatimal,
Starting point is 00:47:35 What I'm an analysis of you in our team's in our I'm, umma'an, and allan, boston." Obviously, obviously. Okay, so that was in Turkish. I just wanted to read a fun Turkish super chat for you guys. He's basically saying you should know Turkey's ready. If Israel wants to come, Turkey's ready, okay. So, and that is what most Turks think.
Starting point is 00:47:56 So be careful what you wish for. God damn and I'm out of time. All right, we'll be back. Back on T.I.T. Jank and Anna with you guys. I'm actually gonna read a couple of quick comments here because we're also on substack. We love being live on substack. GWB wrote in their secretary of the treachery.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Oh, I like that one. Okay, look at that substack audience coming in. Frederick Cox said, Hakeem Jeffrey says, unintentionally move me and many others I know deeper into the Democratic Socialist community. Look, brother, what I would say to you is I totally get it and definitely progressive populist in my opinion is the right way to go. I would ask you to think more about the populist left rather than DSA, it is different. And I know not a lot of people know that difference, but the populist left is the thing that is super duper popular.
Starting point is 00:49:07 That's all of our popular policies in one place. Last one is Father Russell 5303 wrote it on a super chat. I'm still blown away that I now have aligned with TYT after voting for Trump three times. I will concede you were right, he's an agent of Israel. I have so much respect for people like you because it takes a lot to admit you were wrong. And it's okay. We all are wrong time to time. And the important thing is to learn lessons from past votes, past political behavior, and, you know, change. The thing that I want more than anything, you don't have to agree with voters on the left. But I want us to all see
Starting point is 00:49:50 ourselves, ordinary Americans who don't have positions of power as human beings that need to work together for a better future for our country. That's the most important thing to me. Right, we might have disagreements, but there are areas of agreement. Let's start there. Let's work together. Yeah, 100%. All right, let's go to the next story. We've consistently proposed long-term partnerships.
Starting point is 00:50:14 Well, America has often pursued short-term transactions. The gap between partnership and competitor, unfortunately, has remained too wide in recent days. So last evening I instructed our negotiators to return to Ottawa. We cannot accept what they've offered and we will not give what they've asked. All right, great, because we didn't have any other problems. Donald Trump has decided to start a full-blown trade war with Canada. I mean, it is seismic, the size of this trade war. And what do we always ask for? Maximilist demands as if we have all the leverage in the world. And it is it gonna get through Trump's super thick head?
Starting point is 00:51:00 We don't have the leverage you think we do. Not everybody's gonna count to you and bow to you. So now this is going to be an epic disaster and it has gotten instantly ugly. Anna has the whole story. It certainly has gotten instantly ugly. And as I give you the details of this story, I want you all to consider the fact that energy experts predict that we will run out of our strategic petroleum reserves by September 1st, which is right around the corner.
Starting point is 00:51:27 That is unreal, man. And that is a relevant thing to keep in mind because we rely on Canada, believe it or not, for a great deal of our energy imports. And I'm gonna give you those numbers in just a minute. But first, let's rewind, let's give you some context on how we got to where we are today. So just last week, the United States and Canada were attempting to negotiate a new trade deal, which blows my mind, because if you guys can recall, one of the things that Trump did in his first term was completely renegotiated. NAFTA and created a new North American trade agreement known as the US MCA.
Starting point is 00:52:03 Then he gets elected for a second term and he's like, ah, not good enough. Not good enough, I never keep my promises, so I want to renegotiate. Okay, so thus we find ourselves in a new trade war with one of our closest trade partners, Canada. So President Donald Trump had threatened to place a 50% tariff on 20 billion dollars, 20 billion dollars worth of Canadian imports. Now that's stupid for a number of reasons, but the main reason is the fact that for reference, Canada usually exports about $400 billion worth of goods to the United States every year. And one of the main goods is oil and natural gas. So the goods impacted by these new tariffs would not, of course, impact oil or natural gas.
Starting point is 00:52:48 Like Trump doesn't want to mess with that. But Canada could mess with that. Now, because they have leverage over us in that regard. Now, the goods impacted by the new tariffs include hockey equipment, beer, cement. You should also keep in mind that we import crude oil, natural gas, passenger cars, auto parts, and industrial machinery from Canada. So these negotiations were intended to find a workaround to these new tariffs that Trump was proposing, but these negotiations failed.
Starting point is 00:53:17 The Canadians have had enough. Both the United States and Canadian governments have accused each other of introducing poison. in pills in the last second. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who you heard from in the very beginning of this segment, has stated that he will in fact retaliate against the United States by matching the tariffs dollar for dollar. Here's more from Carney. Take a look.
Starting point is 00:53:41 We recognized from the start that America has changed. Early last year in this room, I observed that the decades-long process of steadily increasing integration our economies was over. Our government understood before many that America would transform all of its commercial relationships, that it would put a series of tariffs on its closest allies and use economic integration as a weapon. Last spring, I warned that America is trying to break us so they can own us. And I promise that that will never, ever happen.
Starting point is 00:54:24 We are keeping that promise. Canada is becoming stronger and less dependent on America. We are already giving ourselves more than they can take away. And we are just getting started. Now in response to this, like a complete toddler, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, vowed to increase even more tariffs on Canadian goods. So on January 1st, 27, tariffs on all cars, trucks, both large and small, automotive parts and steel will be increased to 50%.
Starting point is 00:54:58 Build in the United States and there are zero tariffs. Canada will be treated like a state no longer on trade and in other ways also. They are among the worst nations in the world to deal with. Come on, man. They feel entitled and yet we don't need Canada, they need us. Wouldn't it be amazing if you wrote this about Israel? Oh my God, I mean, that would actually be true. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:55:21 Right, but in the case of Canada, it's not true, okay? is the single largest supplier of energy imports for the United States providing roughly 60% of imported crude oil and other energy, and 90% of imported natural gas. So you might be wondering, like, but aren't we like the top producer of oil here in the United States? We are, we're also the top exporter of oil, and there's different types of oil. Our refineries are only able to refine Canadian oil, okay, Canadian crude. So this is the reason why we export a lot of our oil.
Starting point is 00:55:57 Also, let's keep it real, the oil companies want to make a killing and they're gonna sell to the highest bidder. But in this case, to say that we don't need Canada is laughable to say the least. Yeah. So our oil is not our oil, it's Exxomobil's oil. They keep calling it our oil or energy independence. It's just giant lie by mainstream media to trick you into thinking that, oh, when we drill baby drill, that's not for ExileMobil's benefit, that's for your benefit. No, it's not. It is our oil
Starting point is 00:56:28 once it's in the ground. Once we do the Drill Baby Drill, it's now ExxonMobil and Chevron's oil, and they can sell it anywhere they want, and they do. So it gives us no energy independence at all. That's why we have to import so much oil and gas from Canada. Because they make a bigger money by selling it outside the country than they do selling it inside the country. So that's why we're dependent on Canada. And our relationship with Canada until Trump has been excellent. They actually are a special ally, and they actually give us things in return for what we give them, and we have a mutually beneficial relationship.
Starting point is 00:57:03 The country that feels entitled to everything we have and gives us nothing back is Israel. But Israel can't be touched. So what we've done is we've started a war for Israel in Iran. But now today, as we're starting this trade war against Canada, Scott Besson announced that we might take other countries off the dollar and start a massive global economic meltdown and a warfare against the rest of the planet. It's because you know who does business with Iran right now? China, India, Russia, Brazil, Indonesia.
Starting point is 00:57:36 And by the way, Besson kept talking about like allies of ours better not do anything with Iran, otherwise you're gonna cut you off. Well, wait, what allies is he talking about? Because China and Russia aren't allies? Are you talking about these are other parts of countries in Bricks? Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt. So are we now going to say, hey, we were protecting you with our bases there? Just kidding, not only did we not protect you, we sent all our defensive missiles to Israel,
Starting point is 00:58:04 and you got bombed anyway. But on top of that, now we're gonna kick you out of any kind of economic alliance, because Israel is demanded that we go thermonuclear economic warfare against the planet in order to hurt Iran because they need to be a regional superpower, Israel does. So I tell you all that in this context, because on top of potentially starting a war with the rest of the world economically, we take our strongest ally, the ones we have most connections to Canada, and we punch them in the face, worse than we punch anyone else. It's insanity, total insanity.
Starting point is 00:58:39 I'm not even done yet. So I should note, even before the latest threats by Trump, he had already set automobile tariffs at 25% and tariffs on Canadian steel are already set to 50%. Okay? But if you thought Trump was playing hardball, then just wait until you hear from the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, who's quoted as saying the following. Trump underestimates Canada. We're all in. Up here, we're at a fever pitch. Everyone's in for an economic war. They know they're going to have to sacrifice. In fact, many Canadians have been boy. boycotting the United States.
Starting point is 00:59:16 They're not traveling here as tourists. They're not buying American products. This is immediately after Trump got elected for his second term and started, of course, issuing all sorts of threats against Canada. Ford, by the way, is threatening to completely revoke U.S. access to minerals that the Pentagon needs for military equipment and electronics. He says, I'll cut them off. You don't get a grain of sand out of Ontario.
Starting point is 00:59:42 Ford also threatened to cut off electricity imports from Canada, going back to the to what I was referencing earlier in regard to how much we actually are relying to Canada when it comes to our energy needs. He says lots of bluster, oh, and then Trump responded to it by saying lots of bluster from Doug Ford, who is the premier of the Canadian province of Ontario, but who is better known as the less charismatic, intelligent, and overall unimpressive brother of the late great Rob Ford. America has been carrying Canada for decades, but no longer. The United States will always be far bigger, richer, and stronger. than Canada, let me just remind you all, we're 40 trillion dollars in debt and the bond
Starting point is 01:00:20 yield for the 30 year bond is increasing because of our insane amount of debt. But anyway, without the United States, Canada could survive. It's where they get all of their money and because of their current bad leadership, primarily Carney and his flunky Ford, they will not be allowed to keep taking advantage of the US, their key to survival. Now he also went on to claim that much of the electricity, oil and gas, they're going to, that Canada receives is transported through the United States. That's not true.
Starting point is 01:00:50 In reality, the vast majority of Canada's energy exports go to the United States. As I mentioned earlier, we receive 60% of imported crude from Canada, 90% of imported natural gas. Canada is an energy producer that mostly exports rather than imports energy. And Canada's threat should be taken seriously, okay? During an earlier phase of the dispute, Ontario imposed a 25% surcharge on electrical electricity exported to Michigan, Minnesota, and New York. And here's what Ford also said, we power 1.5 million homes and businesses.
Starting point is 01:01:26 Everything's on the table, I'll do whatever it takes. If Trump continues trying to dismantle Canadian manufacturing, Ford said, he better have a pack of batteries. So we're already dealing with an inflationary environment for a number of reasons. And one of the main reasons is this disastrous war that we have entered. against Iran at the behest of the Israelis. And then to make matters worse, Trump is doubling down on the most moronic trade wars you can imagine.
Starting point is 01:01:55 But don't worry, a reality show plastic surgeon, okay, her name is Dr. Sheila Nazarian, told Mark Levin, it's okay, I'm willing to absorb higher costs as long as Israel gets what it wants. Take a look. For me, as an Iranian, a person of Iranian descent, My appetite is quite high for high gas prices and for higher prices of goods. Because for me, it's a humanitarian issue. They kill tens of thousands of Iranians, unarmed protesters in the streets in January.
Starting point is 01:02:31 She hasn't spared a single word in regard to the innocent civilians in Iran who have been, you know, slaughtered by U.S. and Israeli bombs in this stupid disastrous war, including all those little girls who were killed in Manab in the opening salvo of the war on February 28th. Yeah, so first of all, she says as an Iranian, no, she is an advocate for Israel. It doesn't care about Iran at all, okay? But even if she did, as an Iranian, I don't mind paying higher gas prices. Well, sister, that's on you, man. As an American, I mind paying higher gas prices, whether that's for Israel or Iran.
Starting point is 01:03:12 That's not my business, my business is America. And I mind greatly paying higher gas prices. So Israel, as she admitted later in the segment, so that Israel can become a global superpower. I can't believe they're just saying it now. She's a traitor to the country. Yeah, of course she's a traitor. Of course she is. And then they go, that's a trope.
Starting point is 01:03:31 No, no, no, no. It's not a trope when you say it out loud. When you say yeah, America should suffer for Israel so that Israel can be a regional and global superpower. I didn't say, you said it, so you can kiss my ass with all of your, oh, everybody's an anti-Semite, everybody's a trope, doing a trope. Shut up, no one cares anymore. You guys can all go into Washington and New York and be like, right? All Americans are anti-Semites, right?
Starting point is 01:03:58 We should hate Americans. We should tell everybody that Americans are disgusting anti-Semites, and we should criticize all of them until they suffer and they got to pay higher prices for Israel. The stupid anti-Semites, let's punish them, right? That's what you're saying and we're sick of it, okay? We're sick of a bunch of Israelis all over television telling us go to war, go pay more, do this, and now on top of it, look, we have a perfect storm guys. We have a pure evil government of Israel with 100% control over our foreign policy going
Starting point is 01:04:32 attack more, more war, more genocide, give me money, give me wars, give me caskets of Americans coming home, okay? Because we're not going to use Israeli troops. We're going to let American troops die for us. And now on top of that, you have a moronic manchild president who's kind of mentally challenged, going, oh, tariffs are the right answer. Really? 50% tariffs on our closest ally as you're declaring economic war on the rest of the world.
Starting point is 01:05:04 That's good to our benefit. That's going to help us. No, you guys, one of the things that's most underestimated is not Donald Trump's corruption. Everybody knows Donald Trump's corruption. The anna, that he's now a servant of Israel is obvious to literally everyone in the country other than people on television. They're like, oh, Israel, they have no influence at all. Don't fire me, don't fire me, Zionist, please, please don't fire me.
Starting point is 01:05:30 We all know it, guys, it doesn't matter what you bunch of liars say. So now, the underrated part is how deeply unintelligent he is. He doesn't understand that if for a tariff to work, it has to be targeted, it has to be proportional, and it has to go over the long term, okay? A tariff that is gigantic aimed at our closest trading partner and is not long term because we all know you're gonna taco, right? Oh, 50% tariff, oh, that means you. 120% I mean 10%, 200%, I mean 5%.
Starting point is 01:06:08 I mean what kind of a lunatic do we have as president? Such an absurd pathetic moron. So it's not gonna work, work how? What is that tariff's done to help us? All it's done is increased gas prices. And then on top of the demands of Israel for infinite endless wars, they're going to pulverize this economy. So there's nothing but bad news ahead, because we have a
Starting point is 01:06:33 I'm mentally challenged president being ruled by a purely evil leader in Benjamin Nanyahu. When we come back for the second hour, we're gonna have a fantastic interview because it turns out that Israel is literally funneling money to Ted Cruz in ways you wouldn't expect through his podcast. So maybe this is the reason why he's doing a podcast. We've got that and more coming up, don't miss it. If you're Christian, in fact, I will fight for you to have your religious liberty and practice your Christianity. I believe in that. I don't believe in Christianity, which means that you do not
Starting point is 01:07:15 get to dictate the way I live my life based on your religion. I don't care what the Bible says. You have every right in the world. All those women who identify with your religion have every right in the world to not get an abortion, to not take birth control. But they do not have the right to dictate my life. And what I decide to do with my body, I don't care about your goddamn religion. I'm so tired of having non-stop conversations about what the Bible says. You live your life in the way that you interpret the Bible. Again, I don't care, but you don't get to take the Bible and tell me, while the Bible says this, in this chapter and this verse, I don't care.
Starting point is 01:07:54 I don't care. I don't believe in it. And I have the right based on our Constitution to not believe in it. The closet has been left unscathed. Ain't a whole lot left. I don't know why they need any more law. Let us be clear. provided $18 billion in military aid to Israel. Netanyahu indiscriminate bombardment have killed more
Starting point is 01:08:21 than 50,000 civilians, 60% of whom are women, children, paramedics, and journalists, all of this is against basic human decency. You don't starve children with absolutely no humanitarian aid getting into Gaza. It is a war crime. It is illegal for the United States government to provide Israel with more offensive weapons. We will not forgive us. We've been on our phones too much. I feel like we just need to touch grass or something. I told you. I mean, you know what? Let's actually do it. Let's touch the grass. Whoa. Andrew Yang? It's not racist. Right, it's him.
Starting point is 01:09:19 Yes, it is I. Andrew Yang out here giving money away, as usual. Wait, but literally? Do you use a phone? Noble Mobile will cut your wireless bill in half every month, and you get paid even more if you log off, look up, and touch grass. Oh, I actually have some grass. I don't think that's the kind of grass.
Starting point is 01:09:37 Not that kind of grass, unfortunately. Whoa, wait, what the... Whoa. I guess that kind of grass works, too. All grass works. All grass and we get cash? Did you see that? Thanks.
Starting point is 01:09:48 Make it rain, make it rain, go, make it rain, make it rain, make it. That didn't rain so good, but now it's raining good. Corruption, injustice, the system is rigged against you. Every day, we're blasted by a flurry of terrible news from every angle, which can make it challenging to stay positive and know how to fight back. The damage report is your solution. I'm John Adirola, and my daily morning show cuts through the noise and exposes the real damage being done to our country, the world,
Starting point is 01:10:21 and how we can fight back against it. Corporate greed, crushing workers, we'll name names. Politicians selling you out for their corporate overlords, we've got the receipts. Climate disaster, economic collapse, the rise of fascism. No spin, no establishment talking points, just the truth that you need to survive and resist. But it's not all doom and gloom. We'd love to have you join the Dragon Squad, our community of positive-minded activists who turn the day's news into positive action.
Starting point is 01:10:46 With new episodes every weekday, listen to the damage report to get honest news, unflinching commentary and daring coverage you won't find anywhere else. Listen to the damage report on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts, because understanding the damage is the first step to fixing it. Why would I want to blow up the global financial system? Yes, you did. Yes, you did. All right, back on TYT, Jank and Anna with you guys. Now we've got a really powerful story in an interview here.
Starting point is 01:11:41 So let me get that started for you guys. So Senator Ted Cruz weirdly has a podcast. and we never really understood why. And we thought maybe he's just trying to do more marketing for his runs, et cetera. And then it turns out that podcast gets money and then it gets funneled to his pack. Now you guys are not going to be able to guess which foreign government has been funneling millions of dollars in that podcast. I know what you're thinking, probably Canada or Bolivia. But it turns out it might be a different one. Anna, tell us about it.
Starting point is 01:12:10 Well, responsible statecraft has been and is continuing to out. crush it in their reporting and one of their latest reports is titled Israel is sponsoring ads on Ted Cruz's podcast. Is that legal? Under an unusual deal with IHeartMedia, revenue from the show goes to a ProCruz super pack. Now just looking at that headline alone, I assumed, no, there's no way this is legal. Well, there have already been complaints to the FEC and just wait to you hear the details on that. So the advertisements are apparently part of the part of a $7 million I Am Israel campaign that was launched back in June. So it's geared toward encouraging Christians here in America to visit Israel and see biblical
Starting point is 01:12:58 sites for themselves. And here's how the money makes its way to Ted Cruz's super pack. So IHart Media, which has syndicated Ted Cruz's show, it's called verdict with Ted Cruz, and they've done so since 2022. They cannot legally pay Senator Cruz directly for ad revenue. So what they've set up in this kind of unprecedented deal is ad revenue gets directed to a pro Ted Cruz pack. Okay, so it's associated with the show's advertising sales to the Truth and Courage pack,
Starting point is 01:13:33 a super pack dedicated to ensuring that Ted Cruz is reelected to the United States Senate. As responsible statecraft reports, the company has given at least $1,738,000 worth of digital revenue to the Truth and Courage PAC since 2023, and that's according to the Federal Election Commission filings. So some of some did file a complaint with the FEC hoping that maybe something can be done about this because obviously this is an effort to influence Ted Cruz even more than he's already influenced by Israeli money. The agency though, the FEC ruled in Ted Cruz's favor, finding that there was no available information to indicate that Cruz solicited, directed, received,
Starting point is 01:14:18 transferred, or spent the funds Iheart paid to the pack. So we're still pretending as though these super PACs act independent of the candidate, okay, which is a joke. Cruz's role was limited to hosting the podcast and he does not appear to have been involved with the decision for Iheart to pay the pack. Nonsense. Meaning that he did not direct or solicit any funds. the commission found. What a load of garbage. Now luckily to help walk us through the story and what transpired with the FEC is one of
Starting point is 01:14:52 the people who's on the byline for this story. Connor Eccles, a reporter and the managing editor over at Responsible Statecraft. Connor, thank you so much for joining us. Thank you for having me on the show. So let me just start off by asking you, are there any campaign finance laws anymore? Because this is obviously a way of funneling foreign money like directly, you know, like directly to a senator? Yeah, I mean, in practice, these laws are extremely weak, as you're pointing to, right?
Starting point is 01:15:20 The experts that we talk to for this story who deal with campaign finance law are sort of shocked by the extent to which you can make some of these arrangements work. And you know, in the case of the truth and courage back, the name of this pack that is technically not Ted Cruz's, but that only spends in favor of Ted Cruz related causes, all the way back, the way back to 2020, they were technically the owners of Cruz's half of this podcast. And then they sort of sold those rights or they pass along those rights to IHartMedia so that they could then receive ad revenue. And so what we've seen in the past four years, like you said, there is about $2 million going from various companies and various organizations through
Starting point is 01:16:06 IARP media as an intermediary straight into a pack that supports Ted Cruz. And the staffers of that back, believe it or not, are former staffers for Ted Cruz. Oh my god, that is shocking. I would not have guessed that. Because I know it's totally independent of Ted Cruz, but only spends money to get Ted Cruz reelected. So it is so independent, it cannot help Ted Cruz at all. All right, so now, I just want this to be clear.
Starting point is 01:16:33 Like, theoretically anybody can do this, right? So if any foreign government can funnel millions of dollars to anybody's podcasts. And this is what I want to run by you. So if we wanted, not that we have any connections to money in Qatar, unlike the fevered dreams of the Zionist here in America, but anyways, but let's say that we did, that we go to Qatar and go, give me a billion dollars. You know what? I'm gonna have podcasts that link to the packs of every progressive running, and they're
Starting point is 01:17:02 all gonna get $10 million, $20 million, et cetera. Hey, it's just ads for my podcast, and it just happens to be going to their packs, and it's independent of them. Now every dollar goes to helping them get elected, could we do that? In theory, yes. The question that would go before the lawyers is, well, there's two questions. One would be, is this being done at a fair market rate? So in theory, your podcast has to be popular.
Starting point is 01:17:27 It's hard to tell exactly how popular Ted Cruz's podcast is because we don't have those numbers, but we've seen some as high as 2 million downloads a month. The second thing is that you as a candidate can't quote unquote direct that. money to go towards the PAC because you have to be legally distinct as an entity from the pact. That could mean that all of these other people around you understand your interests and will act in your interests. But if there is evidence that you directly ordered that money to go from A to B, then that's a problem. And the same is true of if the Israeli government explicitly tells Iheart Radio that they want that money earmarked for the PAC. That would also
Starting point is 01:18:08 be a violation. But again, it's a black box, right? We are not going to be able to get easy access to any of that information anytime soon. So we are to believe that Senator Ted Cruz had no say and that IHeart Radio decided independently, we're going to send this money to a pro-cruz super PAC. That's what we're supposed to believe. Okay. And by the way, that if they were sending it to, let's say, Tala Rico pack instead, Ted Cruz would keep doing the show. All right, or he might stop entirely unless it went to his pack. Well, and ironically, they are actually now using the Truth Encourage Pack to spend against Tala Rico and in favor of Ken Paxton in Texas as we speak.
Starting point is 01:18:55 This is amazing. So I don't know if you have any insight into the FEC's investigation into this, If there was an investigation at all, you know, you have complaints filed with the FEC. FEC comes out and says nothing wrong, Ted Cruz is doing nothing wrong. Okay, did they actually carry out an investigation? And if you know anything about it, can you give us details? That's a bit of a black box for me. All I've got access to is sort of those FEC documents that we were that you shared some of the quotes from on the screen earlier.
Starting point is 01:19:28 It's not clear to me that there was any sort of major investigation. there were clearly conversations with Cruz because he himself said that he attended at least one meeting with representatives of IHeart Media as part of the acquisition process of the podcast. But what happened in that meeting, whether there are notes related to it or recording or anything like that, we just don't know. Okay, so there's also a story about how Israel's funding Christian Zionist organizations. I'm going to connect it back to Ted Cruz in a second. But tell us about that.
Starting point is 01:20:02 Right. Yeah. So the, I mean, there's been a lot of things in this case. I think that what you're referencing is, it's something angels, I believe, is the name of the. Yeah, right. Let me find the exact. So it's, or Eagles wings, rather. So they did indeed, and this is reporting from my colleague, Nick Cleveland Stout,
Starting point is 01:20:22 who shared the byline with me on this piece. But they did funnel about a quarter of million dollars to Eagles wings, which is a Christian Zionist organization. in New York, and they've been giving a ton of money to a ton of different Christian Zionist organizations in order to encourage them to sort of bring evangelicals back into the Zionist fold, because you're actually seeing a really significant movement among young evangelicals away from Zionism, something like only, I think, 24% of evangelicals under 35 prefer the Israelis to the Palestinians, or say that they sort of side more with the Israelis over the Palestinians. And that's a big crisis for Israel's lobby here in the US because that is their strongest
Starting point is 01:21:03 force in American politics. So let me get this right. The Israeli lobby number one donor in the last election cycle and in this election cycle funnels hundreds of millions of dollars to our politicians and our mainstream media, unlike you guys doing actual news, our mainstream media says, no, those hundreds of millions of dollars don't affect our politicians because they're angels. And then they funnel money through their podcasts directly into their PACs, and that's not even the Israeli lobby, that's Israel itself, so that's a foreign government.
Starting point is 01:21:36 And our media says, no, that also millions of dollars to their podcast also doesn't affect the politicians. And then they funnel millions of dollars down that you got a quarter of a million to that one group of millions overall to Christian Zionist leaders and pastors. And then our media says, no, that also doesn't affect those pastors at all. But what I'm, and by the way, the reason the media says that is it's largely owned by radical Zionists like Rupert Murdoch and Larry Ellison, et cetera. But they say the fact that they're radicals, it does not affect their coverage at all.
Starting point is 01:22:09 They're very objective. That's why on TV you see nothing but people giving the Palestinian point of view. Oh right, that's never allowed on TV. So, but what I'm driving at here is, Connor, doesn't it look to the naked eye like there's a foreign government funneling millions of dollars to. our politicians, our media, and even our religious leaders to purchase almost every leader we have and have them all say the same thing, which is that Israel is our greatest ally, we owe them all the money in the world, God says to give it to them, politicians say it's
Starting point is 01:22:42 to give it to them, media says to give it to them, and so they put in millions of dollars and get back billions of dollars, or the war is trillions of dollars? Am I seeing anything or is that a fair description of the state of affairs right now? Yeah, I think it's hard to argue that that is, at the very least, the goal of this money, right? It's hard to say exactly how any given person is swayed, right? Like, I don't think Ted Cruz needed to be told that he should care about Israel. I think that is a deeply held view of his, however we feel about it. But there is a ton of money going into this because they see that there is a real decrease in support for Israel among Americans today.
Starting point is 01:23:21 And that that is having an effect on our politicians. So final question for me, and this is really, your answer is going to be subjective. I want to be clear about that. But do you think that these efforts are going to work? Like, for instance, do you think that young evangelicals will somehow be convinced by their pastors that a supremacist ideology is compatible with their Christian beliefs? Well, I can say that I certainly hope that they will think independent. There's a really complicated sort of relationship, obviously, between people and their pastors.
Starting point is 01:23:59 But I do think that we're seeing this younger generation, seeing these images coming out of Gaza, seeing these images coming out of Lebanon, seeing the destruction and waste that has come from the U.S. Israeli war in Iran, they understand that the U.S. being in lockstep with Israeli interests is not beneficial to us at home. And so I really do think that it's going to be an uphill battle for them. But then again, there was a large backlash against Israel that began in the 80s after a lot of actions they did in Lebanon. They were able to turn that around over the ensuing decades and get to the point where this all sort of had to start over again. So who's to say? But my suspicion is that it will be very difficult to put this genie back in the bottle.
Starting point is 01:24:41 Yeah, I'll work very hard to keep that genie out. So my last question is about the actual advertising campaign. So on the they get the benefit of buying Ted Cruz, but they've bought him in many different ways. It's just one of the ways. They've also bought 94% of Congress. But mainstream media would say no, millions of dollars didn't affect those politicians. So but on top of that, they're also promoting Israeli tourism.
Starting point is 01:25:09 Do we know if in the ads they say this is where we murdered the Palestinian kids, this is where we murdered the Palestinian grandmothers, and this is where we murdered the Palestinian moms. And so come to Israel and we'll show you the concentration camp we've set up for the Palestinians in Gaza, which is only 30% of what Gaza used to be in. All the places we're gonna set up the condos on top of dead Palestinian children. Is that part of the campaign? No, no, it's not, of course. They do hold that out.
Starting point is 01:25:37 They do hold that out. But I mean, that's, you know, you're pointing at a really important thing, which is that what these ads are trying to do is to speak to Christians as Christians. They're saying that literally it says, you know, come to Israel and you will be changed. This is an experience that will allow you to have a different perspective on all of these biblical sites that you read about, that you hear about from your pastor. But the reality of it and what Israeli officials said around the launch of this campaign, actually, let me see, the Israeli ambassador to the United States said, we've accomplished
Starting point is 01:26:08 so much in the last three years. We have defeated our enemies. Now it's your turn. Now you have to start again. bring the groups to Israel. So what they're saying is if you bring these groups to Israel, they'll be able to start rehabilitating their image after these years of war and destruction. Or they could try to rehabilitate their image by not slaughtering innocent people in multiple
Starting point is 01:26:28 countries simultaneously, or dragging the United States into a disastrous war that's like creating havoc in the global economy. They could try that. But I know that that's real challenging for the Israelis, especially when they're practicing a supremacist ideology. Okay, anyway. So we're wrapping out. But I just want to point out one thing that Connor just mentioned there.
Starting point is 01:26:45 Connor, in that quote, he seems to be kind of confessing. He's saying, now remember, we bribed you through the podcast and we bribed the Christian organizations. So it's now your job to bring them to Israel so we can have more tourism dollars. And so we could brainwash them with our propaganda into thinking that good Christians should support, should be anti-life, and should be for murdering kids. And so he almost seems to be directing them. He's saying now that we've paid you, it's your job to help us do this propaganda. Am I miss hearing that or did he accidentally kind of say it out loud?
Starting point is 01:27:22 No, there's certainly some of that. I mean, he's pointing specifically to this money coming from the Israeli government itself to these different ad campaigns. But the goal is clearly that. The goal is that, you know, by putting this money into American organizations, and it's not just I-Heart media, you could see these ads on YouTube, on Hulu, on all kinds of different platforms that they're trying to push for people to come and to see something different than what everyone has seen on their phones for the last three years.
Starting point is 01:27:48 Connor, what can I say? Keep doing what you're doing, keep crushing it. And we're happy to feature the work that you're doing because it's super important. And legacy media refuses to cover stories like this that are incredibly important and consequential to our lives here in the United States and the lives of innocent people in the Middle East, of course. So thank you again. And we look forward to hearing from your reporting in the future. Right, thank you for having me. Of course. All right, everybody, we have to take a quick break.
Starting point is 01:28:15 When we come back, I actually want to talk about that story that Jen Kattee's earlier in the show. Greg Abbott doing a 180 on data centers. Why did you do the 180? We're going to give you the details when we come back. Obrador. Let's go to members on t.yt.com. Pessimistic Progressive says, anyone remember last month when AOC says you will continue to support Jeffries because of his housing funding plans? I sure do.
Starting point is 01:28:56 I wonder if this is related. Leopards ate my face moment. Okay. Panic on Funkatron says, this is basically the dumbest attack on the financial system ever conceived. There's no possible benefit for the U.S. either way. Sounds like the U.S. government is captured by a foreign power. Ding, ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. Can you believe that people in mainstream media still act outraged by that?
Starting point is 01:29:21 When I say that, they're like, oh my God, how can you say? that Israel has no influence at all in America. What a bunch of preposterous liars. Kelly Kay says, happy Monday from Canada. On behalf of all Canadians, we're sending a huge F yourself to the orange dictator Donald J. Trump. Enough is enough. We're absolutely fed up with a disrespect towards our prime minister and other elected officials and Canadian citizens.
Starting point is 01:29:46 Still loved the American people, but Trump and his sycophant administration can F right off. You're here, Kelly. Boss Scavenger says if Anna runs for public office, she should wear this house. when she makes the announcement? I mean, I'm wearing short shorts, so probably not. Or maybe yes, but I'm not gonna run for public office. Okay, but I'm taking note. Bradshaw crew won on Twitch.
Starting point is 01:30:06 Thank you for gifting five subs. You're awesome. Matrix almost says no one tells the world we're 40 trillion in debt. They may call her bluff. Yeah, sure they won't find out. And that's obviously his point. Hamilton Slate says, Jeffrey's meeting Cushner is just one big TV commercial for the DSA.
Starting point is 01:30:22 Yeah, it's driving people away from the establishment Democrats. And that I love. Trisha Briggs says, yes, Jank is looking great. Who doesn't love Trisha? Jake Hugar and Anax-Sparing with you guys. And guys, we appreciate everybody who supports us and we do need it in these tough times. So it's not like the radical Zionists in this country don't have power. They tend to be victims when they have more power than anyone else in this country.
Starting point is 01:31:16 And that is super obvious unless you're a liar who works in national media. Anyway, so the reality is if ever there's a time to join us or to support us, it's now. So if you can hit the join button below on YouTube or t.yt.com slash join. And tyt.com slash join is even better because you get us reading your comments during the commercial breaks and interacting with you guys. You get a couple of months off of annual membership and it helps us more and you could do donations through there as well as tyt.com slash join. We appreciate it. All right, let's go to our next story.
Starting point is 01:31:48 How much anger and concern are you hearing out there about data centers. So what we've been focused on is responding to concerns that have been raised about data centers and making sure that we have created a structure that's going to do more than any state to solve the problem. They basically dug their own grave for the problem that's been caused for them and that's why they got the backlash they deserve. And that's why these new standards are in place to make sure they're not going to be able to operate until they come into compliance with the standards that I have set. Now, Texas Governor Greg Abbott looks like he's being tough on data centers there.
Starting point is 01:32:24 It might surprise you, but it probably won't to know that he's a giant liar who had been backing data centers the entire time. So why this giant turnaround? Republicans never turn on their corporate donors. Wait till you see how much trouble Republicans in Texas are that'll lead you to the answer. Anna's got the whole story. Elections. Elections is the answer.
Starting point is 01:32:46 Okay, so Governor Greg Abbott of Texas realized, I'm running for, re-election for my fourth term as governor. And it turns out that Republican voters don't like these data centers, even though we tried real hard to make it a partisan issue. I first of all, I love the American people, I love that we're fighting back. I love that they did not allow this to turn into a culture war issue or a partisan issue. So let's get into it. So he's running for reelection for his fourth term.
Starting point is 01:33:16 And what's been complicating his reelection prospects is the fact that he has been, in pushing for more data centers to be constructed in the state of Texas. So his Democratic opponent, on the other hand, Gina Hinojosa, has basically used his support for data centers to get an edge in the race. Now the backlash against Abbott was so intense that even lifelong Republican voters in the state threatened to cross party lines and vote Democrat. So Twyla Lowry is one example. She's a retired social worker in a, in central Texas.
Starting point is 01:33:56 And she's just one example, here's what she says. She says that, you know, he's pushing for the data centers, everything so shady, and she threatened to vote for the Democrat in the race as a result. Lifelong Republican hasn't voted for Democrats, is threatening to vote for a Democrat over Abbott's support of these data centers. So what does this mean for the gubernatorial race overall? This poll result is incredible. So take a look at this graph up on the screen.
Starting point is 01:34:24 It shows that his Democratic opponent is polling at 49%, whereas he's polling at 50%. She's almost caught him. That is unbelievable. Amazing. Now keep in mind, just to put this in context, usually the GOP in Texas boasts a 9 to 12 point advantage, but all of a sudden, not the case. And the data centers have a lot to do with it, especially if you actually listen to the voters because they will cite exactly why they've turned on Abbott.
Starting point is 01:34:54 So additionally last week, the nonpartisan Cook political report shifted the governor's race from solid to likely Republican? That hasn't happened in forever. So Abbott has gotten the message, okay? That's where the 180 comes in. Tom Weeks is another Republican voter breaking ranks with the party. Here's what he told the Washington Post, quote, my party has failed. Nothing has been done by our party to help. Any Republican who has been in office since
Starting point is 01:35:25 we started this fight, I'm not going to vote for them. We're going to vote for whoever we think understands our plight. And Hinojosa does. That's the Democratic opponent to Greg Abbott. So just a little more context on these data centers because previously Abbott was all in when it came to new data centers. So here's what made these Republicans sour on Abbott. Last November, Abbott had declared his state was the epicenter of AI development as he announced a $40 billion investment by Google. The state had originally offered incentives to companies looking to establish data centers in its communities, including sales tax exemptions for qualifying centers. So according to the Texas Tribune, Texas now has 335 data
Starting point is 01:36:15 setters with at least 248 more in the works. They were being adopted at alarming rates. Within literal days, these proposals would get approved. But this month, Abbott suddenly issued a moratorium on the construction of new data centers, which would pause roughly 1,800 AI data center projects. That number is insane. Okay. So it comes to no surprise that mere hours after the Washington Post piece came
Starting point is 01:36:45 out highlighting these Republican voters who were turning on Abbott. All of a sudden, Abbott was backpedaling on data centers, turning on data centers. Take a look, this is Abbott on ABC News backtracking. Let me tell you what I've done. I have pressed pause on any new data center being able to join the operations in the state of Texas. Other governors have done the same, yeah. Well, here's the deal.
Starting point is 01:37:10 During that pause, I have set guidelines and guard rules. that all data centers have to comply with. Number one, they must identify what water usage they're demanding and make clear they are not taking water from communities that need it. Number two, they must not take power from the Texas power grid that's needed. Number three, they must actually lower the cost of electricity for consumers. Number four, they need to make sure that they are not disturbing neighborhoods or rural communities. These are standards that are now being universally applied by all the data centers in the state of Texas.
Starting point is 01:37:51 So what was amazing about this interview, Jank, is he was also talking a little bit, I mean, he was asked about why there were lightning fast approvals of these data centers to begin with. So I actually want to go to that video. Skip ahead. Let's take a look at that. One massive power plant for a meta data center approved in 20 days, another in just three days, another in two days. I mean, was that a mistake? Well, so the way that it works in Texas, they didn't get approvals from the state of Texas They had to get approvals to build those power plants to power their data centers. So to actually begin the data center, they don't need to get approval from the state of Texas,
Starting point is 01:38:34 which is the way the law currently works. thing that they would need to do eventually is to get approval to plug into the power grid. However, in Meta, for example, out in El Paso, they are outside the Texas power grid there, and so they weren't required to be a part of getting the approvals from the power grid. So there was no public notice, there was no approval. There was at the local level there in El Paso. However, because my guidelines and guard rolls that I've set up are so clear, The META data center in El Paso, which is outside the Texas Power Grant area,
Starting point is 01:39:11 they have announced they will be in full compliance with the guard rolls and guidelines that I've set out. So companies don't need approval from the state of Texas to build the data centers? Yeah, so that's hilarious. Can I just show up and build whatever I want in Texas? Well, if you pay Greg Abbott. If I bribe him? Yeah, if you give him enough money in politics, then of course you can. But guys, to Anna's point there, I mean, look at this hilarious sophistry.
Starting point is 01:39:40 So they're like, he's like, no, technically you don't need permission from the state of Texas to build it. But you do need permission from the state of Texas to plug it into the power grid. Oh, right, because they were going to build it and not plug it into the power grid, which is the whole point. So are you tricked? Did he do a good job of manipulating you with his stupid ass propaganda? Because he thinks you're an idiot and couldn't figure that out, right? And a lot of people are apparently they could figure it out because you're now tied with a Democrat in your race, which you didn't expect. And did you guys see that turnaround?
Starting point is 01:40:15 Anna read you the quote earlier that he was so proud of turning Texas into the quote epicenter of AI development. Now all of a sudden he's like, oh, well, me, I didn't have anything to do with it. They didn't even ask me from permission. Oh, I've said strict guidelines. Oh, I'm the ones. Get the hell out of here, man. You got again, as usually, got caught with your hand in the cookie jar. You got bribed by them, you got bribed by the other company, by the way, to set up that
Starting point is 01:40:38 comical energy grid that got people killed in Texas. Good point. And charge them more while they were in the middle of killing them, right? And guess what, why they were able to set up that terrible energy system? Because they all gave campaign contributions to Greg Abbott, but I'm told by mainstream media that was all coincidence, right? So now the people are pissed, and guys, we have an amazing development in the government in the development in this country that is affecting this story and so many others.
Starting point is 01:41:05 And so as we're in super dark times, there is reason for significant optimism. So on this show on the Young Turks, for 20 straight years, we've been telling you, obviously it's the money in politics. How is this complicated? They bribed them to the tune of millions of dollars. That's what they used to get reelected, that's the source of their power. And then scum politicians like Greg Abbott do exactly as they're ordered by their don't It doesn't really matter who the donors are.
Starting point is 01:41:33 What matters is this corrupt system where the donors can simply buy our politicians. Now as we've been saying that, back then, we were the only ones in online media, and we had this great wall of mainstream media who said, no, we're never going to let the American people find out. We're gonna lie to them 24-7 and say the money, it doesn't affect the politicians at all. So we couldn't get past that wall. Now there's so much online media, and anyone doing a real show that has to be. to appeal to the audience instead of giant advertisers who are the same people as the donors,
Starting point is 01:42:07 now have to tell you the truth. Otherwise their audience goes, you think the millions didn't affect Greg Abbott? Okay, you're a liar, I'm not watching you anymore. So people in media, even on the right and certainly in the middle, are having to be honest with their audience, otherwise they're not gonna have an audience. 70% of Americans, roughly 70% of Americans, oppose the construction of data centers in their communities. And there's a number of reasons cited for that. It is obviously a burden to the energy grid, and it's leading to higher energy bills for ordinary Americans who are not going to benefit in any way, shape, or form or profit in any way, shape, or form from these data centers, the water usage, the noise pollution associated with the data centers.
Starting point is 01:42:52 And also, let's keep it 100. They're ugly. Do you want one of those in your neighborhood? But most important of all, I mean, what a, see, the data center has made a huge mistake. They made the robbery direct instead of removed by one step. Usually the way the robbery works is an oil company will give money to politicians like a president, and then those politicians will give them subsidies back. They'll give them $35 billion in subsidies. But since none of the media ever talk about the subsidies, and the subsidies don't affect you
Starting point is 01:43:23 directly, you never find out, so you're never angry about it. That's a robbery well done. In this case, they set up the data center in your neck of the woods, and then they start having you pay their bills. Yeah. And then all of a sudden, your bills doubled, and you're like, what the hell did it double for? I'm barely making it as it is.
Starting point is 01:43:40 They're like, yeah, you're having to pay the bills of the data center. Why? Why should I pay their bills? They're making trillions of dollars from this AI garbage. Why am I paying their costs? Because America- And our politicians, hold on it, sorry, and our politicians say, shut up and pay the bills. That's what they were saying.
Starting point is 01:43:58 So now since the robbery is so direct, the American people have woken up. And now because you're getting all this news from online media, you go, oh, well, of course it's the money in politics. We're not schmucks. Now that I know that Greg Abbott is getting millions from these guys. And all of a sudden, he's approving in two days, three days without checking a goddamn thing and without caring about his voters. Now all of a sudden, enough Americans have found out that Republicans might even lose in Texas.
Starting point is 01:44:25 Listen, I just, this is what I, this is my read of the situation, Jenk. Americans have been shafted by this redistribution of wealth from their pockets into the pockets of major corporations. And let's keep it real, we've been complacent for a long time, enough distractions to keep our minds off the fact that we've been robbed. But in this case, I mean, Americans have been squeezed too much, and you're right, they were under the impression. The people behind these data centers were under the impression. I mean, Americans have been abused so much already, and they just sit down and take it.
Starting point is 01:45:01 So why wouldn't they just sit down and take it? Will we do this? That's exactly right, because they got away with so much that they thought, we'll just rob them directly. Like, we'll go to their house and get $100, $200, $200 from each one of them and give it to the data center so they don't have as much cost, right? And they thought, why would we get caught on this? We robbed them for a living. That's the whole point of the politicians is to take money from these giant corporations
Starting point is 01:45:27 of foreign governments and then to give them 10 times, 100 times, a thousand times more, but not of their money of your money, right? So they got caught this time by even Republican voters, because in the past what they would say is, oh yeah, the oil subsidies, look away, it's okay, drill, baby, drill, I got a nice talking point. And the Republican voter, and by the way, also corporate Democratic voters, let's be honest, okay. would go, well of course, we drill baby drill, right? The Democratic voters would say something different, but they got hoodwinked in a different way.
Starting point is 01:45:55 Those are the establishment Democrats. So now, and on Israel, they'd be like, oh, special ally, Jesus told you that you have to do it for Israel or whatever. It's in the Schofield Bible, and they would go, okay, yes, sir, take my money, sir, right? But now when even a Republican voter in Texas goes, wait, you just took $150 out of my pocket to give them Facebook? Facebook's worth nearly a trillion dollars.
Starting point is 01:46:19 Why don't they pay their own goddamn cost? So even the Texas Republican voter goes, no, no, I'm not dumb. I just didn't know the information before. The information was hidden for me. All I got was slogans and catchphrases, and I made the mistake of thinking you were on my side. And BS about free markets when really this is socialism for incredibly profitable corporations. And we can prove it guys. You know what right now, both the Pentagon and health and human services are destroying the free
Starting point is 01:46:50 market. We're not allowed to negotiate drug prices. There is no bigger attack on capitalism than saying you're not allowed to negotiate. That means there are no free markets. Who brought that corruption to you? Establishment Republicans and establishment Democrats. They're the unit party. They got together and they sold you out.
Starting point is 01:47:10 And whenever there is a populace from the left or the right, who attacks them 200 percent? The corporate media, the corporate media is the getaway driver. They're in on this. So that's why if there's anyone who's going to help you, they attack them viciously, right? But if they're in the unit party, oh, no, don't look at all the money that they got. No, and don't look at all the money that's drained out of your pockets. And that's how they do this getaway. But one last thing about Texas in particular.
Starting point is 01:47:37 So in this case, it's a corporate Republican in charge, and he's robbing you. And the person running against them, is. is not a corporate Democrat. And Tala Rico is not a corporate Democrat. They're in the populist left wing part of the Democratic Party. That's why they're getting more and more support. If they were like Hakeem Jeffries or Chuck Schumer, we're gonna have the same exact policies as Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton.
Starting point is 01:48:02 But hey, we have a D on our helmet, then they wouldn't be doing as well. So a wing of the Democratic Party has begun to figure it out. So find the populace in your neck of the woods and vote for them, whatever. party they were in. But lastly, he said in that last clip, Greg Abbott did, now that we have these new guardrails, all these companies will be in compliance with those guardrails at a later day. In other words, they were never in compliance because there was never any guardrails in the first place.
Starting point is 01:48:35 And they're never going to be. And they're not in compliance now. So if you re-elect Greg Abbott, who you know for a fact serves those data center companies. companies, after the elections, do you think that they're really gonna follow the guardrails? Or are they gonna go straight back into the robbery? Because at that point, the Texas voters will have told them, yeah, please rob me. And they're gonna hear that loud and clear. When we come back from the break, we'll talk about how the Washington Post was ordered
Starting point is 01:49:03 to rehire a columnist they fired over her posts on social media in the aftermath of the Charlie Kirk assassination. We'll be right back. All right, let's go to Super Chat, where a couple of you have been wonderfully generous. I'm a damn lib, wrote standing strong with TYT, love you all. Thank you, brother. We appreciate you so much. Another wonderfully generous contribution comes from solid pack American horsemen.
Starting point is 01:49:39 Citizens United's masterpiece. Israel buys Ted Cruz's podcast. FEC waves hands because technically nobody said, give me money. A foreign state now funds a U.S. Senate campaign, just rout it through a super PAC and call it digital revenue. But then, how dare you fund a Palestinian charity? Yeah, that's exactly what our government and media do. And I wrote this on Twitter and it's blaringly obvious. So there are almost no Palestinian voices, forget being Palestinian yourself, almost no
Starting point is 01:50:12 one supporting the Palestinian point of view or even stating the Palestinian point of view in television, almost none. On the other end, thousands of pundits, anchors, and guests and politician appearances, All over cable news, all supporting Israel, and they tell us we're objective. No, you're not. You're a bunch of effing liars whose job is to deceive the American people on behalf of the donor class. RC 7801 says about the politicians, but maybe also about the media, f these traders.
Starting point is 01:50:44 Mike Necrophant says the Democrats are not the opposition party. Jeffries and Kushner are meeting because the establishment is terrified of raising class consciousness. Yes, Mike, that's exactly right. Aaliyah Deeb says the reason radical Zionists have such terrible talking points is because there just aren't a lot of rhetorical options. Of course they have to pretend that everyone knows I can see what's happening as anti-Semitic. Yeah, that's right, they have to call everybody anti-Semites because they can't argue the facts. The facts are 100% against them.
Starting point is 01:51:14 We'll be back. Back on TYT, the online news network, Jane Hugar, Anna Kusparin with you guys. And look, we have a podcast network, check that out wherever you get your podcast. And we have 24 hour news network, including damage report, indisputable, and many of our other shows. That's on Samsung TV, LG's, Roku, Zumo, so many other platforms. So check it out. If you can, search TYT on any of those platforms and leave it on all day if you can. All right, let's do the next story.
Starting point is 01:52:16 So a Washington Post columnist who was fired for having an offensive opinion has been rehired. hired because of a court decision. What in the world happened? Anna, you've got the story. Yes. So let's talk a little bit about this columnist at the center of the controversy. Her name is Karen Atier, and she was an opinion columnist for the Washington Post, which is really, really important to keep in mind because there's a difference between a straight
Starting point is 01:52:43 news reporter who's not supposed to share controversial opinions on social media oftentimes. there might be some deal or some work agreement that would allow it. But generally speaking, you do straight news reporting, you keep your opinions to yourself. In this case, we're talking about a columnist. Columnists share their opinions, okay? So that's important. Now prior to her firing, she had been working for the papers' opinions department for 11 years. She was even an award winning columnist.
Starting point is 01:53:12 Back in 2019, she won the special George Polk Award along with her co-author. or co-columnist David Ignatius for her coverage of the Jamal Khashoggi killing. So then September 10th, 2025. That's the day that Charlie Kirk gets assassinated. And she made several posts on blue sky regarding political violence that apparently offended her employer so much that they decided to terminate her position with them. So I'm gonna give you a few examples. Here's one.
Starting point is 01:53:46 For everyone saying political violence has no place in this country, Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year and America shrugged and moved on. So there were political assassinations in Minnesota. Melissa Hortman, her husband and her dog were killed. And so she, I don't think there's anything wrong with pointing that out. And then she also said part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness, and absolution for white men who who espouse hatred and violence. And I'm guessing that second post is what led to the Washington Post deciding to let her go.
Starting point is 01:54:27 Now later in a substack post, she claimed that these threads that she posted on Blue Sky were not about Kirk. No, come on. Like that's where she's 100% of the wrong. Like just own it. You did post it, it was about Kirk. But she's saying that she's trying to draw attention to these political assassinations and how they didn't get the type of attention that they deserved.
Starting point is 01:54:50 And I think that's a fair point to make about the political assassinations. But just own up to what you're actually posting about here. She only directly referenced Charlie Kirk once in the following post I'm gonna read to you. She says, she quoted him specifically and said, black women do not have the brain processing power to be taken seriously. You have to go steal a white person slot. That was a quote that Charlie Kirk has said. Okay, following her termination from the Washington Post, she posted an update pointing out that Kirk was referencing specific black women and not all black women. Here's what she said. Hey, everyone, in the heat of things, I originally saw this quote in a piece in the nation.
Starting point is 01:55:33 And their quote has since been updated to specify that it was specific to Joy Reed, Michelle Obama, etc. But Kirk's clearly anti-black statements speak for themselves, and then she provides a link. Now, the Washington Post did fire her, calling her blue sky posts unacceptable gross misconduct and endangering to the physical safety of her colleagues, which I think is ridiculous. Okay, you might not agree with her. You might totally disagree with her analysis of the situation and political violence in the country, but at the end of the day, she's not putting anyone's life in danger at the Washington Post. I do think that's ridiculous. Now, at the time of her termination, she claimed that she was the last remaining black full-time
Starting point is 01:56:20 opinion columnist at the Post. A month after her filing, though, she decides to challenge the fact that she was terminated. She filed a grievance with human resources claiming that the Post violated her labor agreement. So she has a contract with the Washington Post, and at this point an arbitrator comes in to arbitrate and decide whether or not the Washington Post violated her labor agreement. And it turns out, yeah, yeah, she did, they did. So in a four page letter to the Washington Post, Atia had argued that her post, her posts were well supported opinions within her scope of being an opinion writer.
Starting point is 01:57:00 Hey guys, you might wholeheartedly disagree with her opinion, but at the end of the day, she's an opinion writer, that's what she was hired for. Arbitrator basically said, okay, the Washington Post did violate her labor contract, and they are ordered to immediately rehire. her and give her back pay. Jank your thoughts. Yeah, so I think a lot of you know that we had a very different reaction to Charlie Kirk being killed.
Starting point is 01:57:24 We were horrified by it and I'm still horrified by it. And what I would love is justice for who actually did it. That would be very, very important for the country. And so now Charlie Kirk was a complicated person and did he from time to time say things that we consider hateful? Yes, I don't think that's in question. You can say no, his comments about black people and not trusting black pilots and saying that Islam is putting a sword to the neck of America is not hateful.
Starting point is 01:57:54 Okay, that's fine. That's a disagreement, okay? And I'm not the guy to be like, oh my God, that's Islamophobic, I'm so, you know, for clumped over it. Okay, whatever. But to say that he didn't say anything controversial is absurd. Of course he did, right? So at the same time, he was open to the other side and he would have done.
Starting point is 01:58:13 discussions and he would from time to time agree. And he had a very important agreement with us against the Iran war right before he was assassinated by someone or some entity. And so, but all of that at the end of the day is immaterial. So I don't like what she posted. I don't like that right after someone is murdered in a political assassination, you know, you start to talk about how he was a bad guy. I get it. Like there's some situations like Dick Cheney and Lindsey where everybody's got a right to say any of they weren't assassinated. They had a natural death and then everybody's kissing their ass and you go, no, I don't want to kiss their ass, okay?
Starting point is 01:58:48 I'm not interested in that, right? But is this young guy where the family gets murdered in front of our eyes, right? So it's not the right place to do it in my opinion and we proved it by having a completely different reaction. And I don't like to talk of white men this and white men that. And you can say, well, I mean, he said about black women, I know, but are we going to constantly do this forever? It put each other in different categories.
Starting point is 01:59:12 You're the white men, you're the black women, and we should all be separate. How about we try being Americans? And we lead by example, if you don't want them to say black women, maybe you don't say white men, right? Are we gonna also pretend that white men who carry out acts of political violence suffer no consequences? I mean- Yeah, they do get arrested. Dylan Roof is a good example. Yeah, it's not like we let them go, we forget about what they did. It's not like they're Israelis.
Starting point is 01:59:35 Israelis we let go. They're allowed to commit any crime. Murder Americans, honestly, the sexual tourism, the rape of our children, and literally no punishments almost ever. And so if you want, you can watch other young Turks clips, we're not making that up, that is empirical stories we've shared with you, there's no question about it. Ten Americans murdered in Israel, and no one's even been arrested. Okay, so no one's Israeli here, we all have to actually be equal before the law to the
Starting point is 02:00:03 best of the system's abilities. But now, the most important parts, guys, even if you hated it, we're really, we're what she said. There's two other issues here that are pertinent. One is freedom of speech. You don't get to have freedom of speech about only things you like. If you did, they'd be a pointless, you know, right. No, freedom of speech is for things that are unpopular and things that people don't like, because no one wants to ban popular speech. No one's like, oh, you know, puppies and kids are sweet. Oh, you got to ban that. No, they ban it when you criticize Israel and everybody government hates that and they want to ban it, right? You criticize black women or white men or
Starting point is 02:00:42 whatever it is. Don't ever give away freedom of speech, no matter how much you hated what somebody said. Now number two, the most pertinent part in this particular case is there's a legal contract that binds what the Washington Post can do. And the mediator said, no, Washington Post is in a violation of that contract. They cannot fire an opinion columnist for stating her opinion. So, We're done with it. That's it. Whether you like what she said or not, they're in violation of the contract, and that's called capitalism. Well, that does it for today's show. The Revolution is next. Jake, you want to give people a little. Yes, preview is. We're going to talk about another Republican who's a corporate stooge, and pretty much to rhetorically rip his face off. So you
Starting point is 02:01:29 have that to look forward to. I'll be right back.
