All right, welcome to the young Turks, guys.
We're finally back on air living in the developing city named Los Angeles, otherwise known as a Banana Republic.
And so obviously a big day.
We've got election coverage for you guys, polls of closed in a number of places.
Well, since we last, we're going to tell you that polls closed in places, more polls have closed
because it's taking us an hour to get back on air.
The power went off in LA because we have been competent Mayor Eric Garcetti, probably the
worst mayor of my life.
Mary and Barry in DC doing hardcore drugs in hotel rooms was probably not.
better because he probably tried to do the job every once in a while.
Eric Garcetti has been missing in action.
He does, like, no one, like, they should do a contest.
Where in the world is Eric Garcetti?
Because no one can find him.
He doesn't care about the job at all.
And then other Democrats come out and go, oh, yeah, yeah, Garcetti's doing great.
He's doing great, man.
Yeah, he's doing great.
No, L.A. is an absolute mess.
So I'm going to get back into that in a second.
But first, I've got to tell you about what we're doing tonight.
So we've got the regular young Turks that was supposed to be two hours, now is one hour because we live in a developing city, like I said.
And then we're going to do election coverage, me and Anita Turner, Rashad Ritchie, John Idleau, Michael Schur, Jessica Burbank, David Schuster, all of our stars are here tonight and more.
And then we are going to have Matt Gates on.
We are going to have Rokana on.
We'll get the Republican perspective.
We'll get Democratic perspective.
And right now the elections look like they're going to be miserable for the Democrats.
We'll talk about that throughout the night.
So you have that to look forward to.
But an hour ago, Kentucky and Indiana polls closed.
And I have the first results of the night for you guys.
So it's not, trust me, they ain't anywhere near over.
But this is probably the only time I'm going to get to say.
So I'm glad we made it back on air in the naked time.
Charles Booker leading Rand Paul in Kentucky with 4% reporting, 52 to 48, he's got a four-point lead,
but it's only 4% and it will not last.
So, but I'm glad at least I got to say Charles Booker's leading.
Good candidate in Kentucky, good person, ran as good a campaign as he could.
I would, you know, if I was in charge of the Democratic Party, none of the campaigns would look anything like they do now.
What we would do is we would just fight Republicans and eviscerate them all throughout the country.
But Democratic consultants and Democratic leadership and Democratic donors are all idiots who say don't
fight Republicans, don't.
There's only two guys in the whole country who fought Republicans this cycle.
Tim Ryan, who closed a 10-point lead.
We don't know that he'll win.
He's swimming, yes, a big tide, but he did everything he could, and he fought hard.
He fought dirty.
And I don't agree with a lot of his policies, but God damn it, thank you.
Thank you, Tim Ryan, for showing up for the fight, for bothering to run an election.
Thank you, okay?
Another guy who ran a great campaign was Federman.
He still has a chance of winning, even though he had a stroke.
It was a disaster of a debate where people were concerned about his health, and he might still win.
Oh, hey, look at that.
I wonder if the young Turks were right.
We've been saying for 20 years on air, why don't you fight them?
Why don't you fight the other guys?
And Democrats are like, oh, you guys are horrible.
I can't believe you would say that.
No, you're supposed to lay down like dormats for Republicans.
That's what all the smart people in Washington thing.
Well, for another time, they're going to lose all these elections.
They're never going to figure it out because they're paid not to figure it out.
I have incredible details of that in a second.
In fact, here, I'll do it right now.
Okay.
So, look, they asked in exit polling, what are you most concerned about?
Right now, number one was inflation.
By the way, soon, and one of the top topics is also crime.
That's another thing we'll talk about later.
But on the issue of the economy, the number one question, the Democrats basically had this
response throughout the entire campaign.
Oh, the economy, the economy, inflation.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Oh, that's a brilliant strategy.
Way to go.
Way to go.
With about two weeks left, Joe Biden figured out, oh, my God, the Republicans are going
to cut Social Security and Medicare.
Maybe we should tell people about that.
You think?
You think?
Oh, the geniuses in the Democratic Party figure that out with two weeks left to go.
Way too little, way too late.
There's a thousand things they could have said about the economy.
But the most important thing is if they'd actually done something.
So what a progressive say?
What did the young Turks say?
We said raise a goddamn minimum wage.
It's a $7.25.
It hasn't been raised since 2009.
It's poverty wages.
You make $15,000 a year if you work the whole year without a single wage.
day off. And what are the Democrats say? Oh, no, our donors, our beloved corporate donors, we can never
betray them. No, no, no, we have to keep your wages at poverty levels. Democrats are supposed to be
the working person's party. They're not anywhere near that now. They're not anywhere near
that. All they care about is how far up their donors' ass they can go. So they didn't know
minimum wage. You know what voters said today in the exit polling? If the Democrats do, do
you support raising the minimum wage in fighting inflation? All voters, all voters. Sixty-nine percent of
them said yes. Yes. Raise the minimum wage. Yes, 69 percent. Seven out of ten voters.
It would have been an incredibly winning issue. And yes, what the Democrats said? Oh, they fumbled
it away because they're corrupt. They're corrupt. They're corrupt. Mainstream media lies to you
24-7. I don't see the corruption. Oh, look at that. Joe Manchin and Krista Sinema picked up
checks from the National Restaurant Association right after they voted that bill down.
Oh, I don't see any corruption.
It's quit pro quo.
It's flat out bribery.
Any reporter who doesn't tell you about the bribery in Washington is a liar, and you should
never trust that news organization.
It's the most obvious thing in the world, okay?
So, by the way, don't get me wrong.
Republicans are worse.
I know that.
That's why we fight Republicans every day.
The Republicans are 100% corrupt.
But the Democrats never call out their corruption.
That's nobody there, number one winning issue.
But they don't do it.
Why?
Because they're also corrupt.
So, okay, now let's go to Bernie Sanders said throughout the entire election, for God's sake,
talk about how they're price gouging.
They have record profits.
Why do they need to increase all of these prices if they have record profits?
Talk about the price gouging.
When they asked voters, again, not Democratic voters, all voters,
would you have supported efforts to rein corporate price gouging to battle inflation?
What did that come in?
83%.
Hashtag Bernie was right.
Hashtag Bernie was right.
There's no question Bernie's right.
The progressives are right.
We're right.
There's no question.
If anybody tells you otherwise, they are lying to you on purpose.
I'm so sick of their gas lighting.
I'm so sick of their corruption.
You see those stupid reporters on TV.
Oh, the Democrats have done a brilliant thing
of making sure that wages are super low
and then you protect the outrageous profits
of multinational corporations.
Rov-Joe Biden, Genesee Pelosi, master legislator.
Total utter clowns.
So what do they do?
They blew this election.
They blew it.
And they blew it.
Why?
Not just because of messaging.
Yes, they were awful on messaging.
But they also blew it because they didn't even try.
And then what happened?
What were all the bills that Biden passed?
They were all, okay, let me help the semiconductor industry.
Okay, look, the semiconductor industry maybe, maybe needs to be protected because of our supply chains,
et cetera, et cetera.
But you think that voters are going to be like, oh, the CEOs of the semiconductor industry,
got big, giant checks because of the Democrats.
I can't wait to vote for them.
Really, how could anybody?
be that stupid? How could anybody be that stupid? The semiconductor industry bill got us zero votes. None.
Zero, zero, zero. Show me one voter in America. It was like, well, I went out there and voted for
the Democrats because of the semiconductor bill. Everything that Biden did was give all the money to my donors
first, and hopefully it'll trickle down to you, neoliberal policies. Hey, we said, why don't you
extend the child tax credit. It's sitting at over 80% popularity. Oh, well, Joe Manchin wouldn't
want that. Then kick his goddamn ass. Do something. Do something. No, no, no. Every report will
come and yell at me, yell at Anna, yell at progressives go, oh, if you had just kissed the Democrats
ass more, they would have won the election. But you told people the truth. How dare you? You're in the
news industry? And you told people things that are true? No, no, no, no. What you do is you give to
the semiconductor people. You give to the construction people. By the way, you also give the
construction unions. Let's be honest about it. You funnel all of the money to your top donors.
And then maybe 10, 20 years later, it'll trickle down to Americans. Oh, we lost an election because
the election wasn't 20 years later. The election was right now. It was a year later. Oh,
did we lose again? I guess the Republicans are back in charge and the Republicans are even
more corrupt. These Democrats are never going to, quote, unquote, learn because they're literally
paid not to learn. They're paid to lose. And the corporate media, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, you name
it. They're never going to tell you the truth. They're giant, multi-billion dollar corporations.
What did the, what's the first thing MSNBC told you when the inflation went up? Stephanie
Rule went on MSNBC and said, oh, you cannot raise wages. That would lead to you.
inflation. Well, we didn't raise wages. And we had a massive inflation anyway. You know why?
Because we printed four and a half trillion dollars at the Federal Reserve and handed it to the
top banks and the top corporations in the world. Because that's who donates to the Democratic and
Republican parties. Oh, we can't do voting rights. If we've done voting rights, we would have won this
election. But instead, we didn't do voting rights at all, which everyone before the elections
began, before Biden's term began, said voting rights is super easy, jank. Oh, you guys are always so
mean to the Democrats, to our beloved Democrats who sit there like incompetent losers and never
do anything. You guys are so mean to them. Of course they're going to pass voting rights. You
guys are outrageous. How dare you say that? Well, that's a bare minimum. Obviously, we're going to
pass it. And did they pass it? They didn't pass a single thing in it. Well, couldn't you have
gotten rid of the filibuster? Just make an exception. I know you love the filibuster so much
because it protects your corporate donors. I know how much you love it because it's the essence of
corruption. But couldn't you at least make an exception so that we could all vote so that we wouldn't
have these insane gerrymandered districts.
Couldn't you at least do that?
Nope.
Well, we can't make an exception to the filibus.
Is that true?
No, that's not true.
They did make an exception to the filibus.
And not 20 years ago or not 200 years ago.
They made it in this term.
When their beloved stock market was in danger,
then they said, we have to raise the death ceiling right away make an exception to the
filibuster.
Our donors would be so mad at us if we didn't do that.
Oh, our voters who could.
That's what Joe Manchin and Chris is cinema,
And Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer did.
They spit on the voters because their voters said, their donors said,
you are to raise the debt ceiling right now.
No, you better not give anybody voting rights.
You better not give them higher wages.
You better not give them child tax credit.
You better not give them paid family leave.
All of them polling 70%, 80%.
Which party is so stupid that they wouldn't do a bill that polls at 83%.
That's where child tax credit and paid family leave were.
Who wouldn't do that?
Who wouldn't do that?
Only a party enormously corrupt.
And then when they lose the election, guess who they're going to blame?
Progressives.
They're going to say it was Bernie.
They're going to say it was us.
They're going to say it was AOC.
They said, well, if you just shut up and did corporate propaganda like the rest of us,
then nobody would have found out.
Oh, yeah.
I'm sure they wouldn't have found out at all.
So the Democrats spent two years shoveling trillions of dollars to giant corporations
didn't do the bare minimum, and then come to find out they're going to lose the election.
And the data from the exit polls indicates that we were 100% right.
By the way, spread this video, because it's the last time you'll ever hear about it.
If you turn on cable news, they'll be saying, oh, yeah, Democrats lost because the Democratic policies,
the progressive policies are not popular.
They're not popular.
No, every policy is on economic issues is intensely popular.
You just didn't do any of them.
So understand Democratic leadership and everyone in mainstream media, gaslighters, giant
liars.
Okay, never listen to them.
If they're talking, they're lying to you.
So my numbers are indisputable, indisputable.
We would have won the goddamn election.
Instead, they gave it away to the Republicans because that's what their donors want anyway.
Okay.
So that's my rant to start the goddamn show now that we're on the gun.
God damn error.
Okay, now let me go to crime.
So reason number two why Democrats are going to lose this election, crime.
So what did the young Turks do?
We warned you about it.
We told you like six months ago.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, well, crimes are real issue before the Republicans even realized it.
But you know why we realize it?
Because people realized it, because we have a connection to our audience.
We have a connection to real people.
Working class people are saying crimes out of control, totally out of control.
Cops won't show up in LA, in New York and Seattle.
They just won't show up.
It just won't show up.
And by the way, you don't have to, like, there's a, there's a bunch of reasons why that might be the case, and you should have held the cops accountable for not showing up.
But what did the Democrats do instead?
Oh, it's the young Turks fault.
How dare they talk about crime?
No, no, no.
If we just ignore it, I bet it won't be a problem.
American prospect has a story out today saying crime, massive issue.
The second largest issue, actually in their polling, it was the number one issue.
What did we tell you?
We told you, we told you, we told you.
And so every time we're right, they hate us more.
So now they'll say, oh, you guys told us about crime being a huge political problem
and an actual policy problem.
You told us about that?
Shoot the messenger.
Shoot the messenger.
It's all the young Turks' fault.
It's all progressives' fault.
It's all your fault, okay?
If you're just not told anybody, nobody would find out how incompetent we are.
And so they can't figure out how to run an election.
So, okay, Democrats.
What can you say about crime?
They just couldn't figure it out.
I don't know what to do about crime.
First of all, you could try to fix it.
I know, but my God, that you would have to work for your voters.
That's never going to happen.
I mean, they're Democrats.
I mean, Republicans screw over their voters and actively hurt them.
And Democrats look at them and just ignore them, brush them aside, okay?
So what you could have done is said, you know what Democrats or progressives are for?
We're for justice.
That's our number one issue, justice.
We're for social justice, but we're also for economic justice.
We're also for criminal justice.
Criminal justice means two things.
One is you treat everyone fairly.
Don't go beat up black guys and Latinos for no goddamn reason.
That isn't fair.
That isn't just.
On the other hand, you also shouldn't say, oh, don't do policing.
Well, how about the working class guy who's going to work?
Okay, here, let me give you an example from L.A.
I go to get my haircut of supercuts, the window smashed.
And I asked the hairdresser, hey, what happened?
And she's like, oh, well, we just stopped fixing the window.
I said, why did you stop fixing it?
What do you mean?
Stop fixing it.
She said, oh, people come in every once in a while and just take whatever they want.
And I said, what do you do when they just come in?
Oh, we let him take it.
Well, don't you call the cops?
Oh, we call the cops.
And what happens?
They said, they never come.
And then people start realizing there's no law at all in L.A.
Because Garcetti is not a mayor.
He just, he funneled all the money to his donors.
And then he went on vacation for two years.
Karen Bass ran an election saying, everything's great when they asked her in the first debate.
How do you feel about safety?
She said, I feel 10 out of 10, perfectly safe in L.A.
Meanwhile, the working class is having bricks thrown through their windows, guys barging in
and threatening their lives 24-7.
I said, why is the window still broken?
She said, well, we don't know how many times do we have to fix it.
And the cops never come.
You have to do something about that.
And then when you do something about that, you say, we Democrats are for justice.
Justice for the working class, justice for the average American, justice for victims of crime.
Oh, oh, never heard of it.
Didn't even think about it.
Didn't even occur to them.
So what happened?
Giant issue number two, and Democrats are going to lose the election because they didn't talk about crime at all.
We were right.
We were right.
Anna, again, by the way, for the 200th time in a row, Anna Kasparian said it first.
And when she said it first, everyone piled out, how dare you?
you, you are not a good leftist. You are hurting the feelings of activists. Their feelings
have been hurt. They have an ideology that was set decades ago, and they refused to change
based on facts. And you're also hurting the feelings of democratic politicians. How dare
you, Anna Kasparend. You are an impertinent young lady, okay? God damn it, hashtag Anna was right.
She was right again. And then I jumped on that bandwagon, and then they pile on me. Well, now, again,
I guarantee you after they lose the elections, instead of actually addressing the problem,
both in policy and in politics, they will blame us.
I've seen this movie 100 times.
Guys, this is, so I tell you this, final thing, because we've been right for 20 straight years
on almost every issue.
And every time we're right, they shoot the messenger and they never fix anything.
So going all the way back to the Iraq war, we were on the air, and we're like, don't vote
for the Iraq war.
It's a disaster.
It's both a policy disaster, it's a moral disaster, but it's also going to be a political
disaster.
You're like, oh, you're hurting Hillary Clinton and John Kerry and Joe Biden who are going to vote
yes on the Iraq war.
They're geniuses.
They're so smart.
They're playing four-dimensional chess.
You guys can't figure it out.
What would you know, young Turks?
The Iraq war is going to be great.
We're with George W. Bush.
Had that work out for you, dumbasses?
Had that work out for you.
We've been right on every issue and every time they shot the messenger.
So, look, you're never going to get the Democratic leadership that is deeply 1,000% corrupt
to change.
You're never going to get deeply corrupt mainstream media to change.
You just have to ignore them and tell everyone you know.
Do not listen to them.
And guys, the Republicans are fascists.
They're about to take over and destroy our democracy.
But the mainstream media lets you think that there's only two options.
corrupt and fascist Republicans or corrupt and incompetent Democrats.
That's not true.
You have another option.
It's called primaries.
I know the right wing doesn't care about this country, but if you think you care about it,
right-wingers, you can vote in your primaries too.
But for us Democrats, you've got to vote in the primaries.
What is the number one thing that the media tells, don't vote in primaries,
only corporate Democrats can win, only conservative Democrats can win, only they can win.
Primaries that are not important.
Don't go to vote in primaries.
No, do not lie to that, listen to them.
They are liars.
Go vote in primaries and vote out every incumbent Democrat.
They've done nothing.
They're all losers.
They're incompetent.
Yes, use your own judgment.
Don't vote against just Democrats for no reason.
But for most, unfortunately, 90% of the Democrats are corporate conservative stooges.
And everyone would know that if we had an honest media in this country, but we don't.
Okay, I've got a lot more.
And Anna's going to join us.
So we got, let's take a break here.
And when we come back, among other things, Ron DeSantis versus Donald Trump.
All right, back on TYT, Jank and Anna joins me now.
Look, we're not a billion-dollar media corporation, right?
So when the power goes out in the city, we really got to scramble.
But I want to thank our team for getting us up and having built these home studios
with the money that we have.
And I appreciate them working super hard on it.
And I appreciate all you guys.
without you guys who couldn't even get back on air.
So here are new members that made this possible.
They just joined.
Crypto Mohito, Rob Schultz, Christy Robeson, Athena Nicole 420, Daniel Ford's Dragon,
Connor Burke, Travis Libby, Samantha Dore, Rick Spiegel, Debbie M, 5 Across Your Lips, Alexios,
Philip Stringer, MJ, Laura Ann, KVTTSI, Emily Siegel, Wayne Lang, and Marcy Bernie.
Love you guys.
We don't need mainstream media.
We don't need those corrupt democratic leadership, and we certainly don't need Republicans.
I need you guys. I love it. Thank you for doing this together. All right, Anna.
All right. Well, speaking of teams, main show team worked really, really hard to put together
a show for you today. So we're going to get through as many of those stories as we can before
official election coverage starts. So let's begin with something that broke later in the day.
And it's some pretty intense comments that Trump had in regard to Ron DeSantis and the possibility
possibility of him running in 2024.
The ongoing drama between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis seems to be heating up.
And in a recent interview with a reporter by the name of Alex Leary, Trump seemed to issue
some threats toward Ron DeSantis.
So let's set up some context so you understand what the setting is and what Trump is
feeling right now in regard to running in 2024.
Flying from Ohio to Florida aboard his remodeled Boeing 70s.
57, Trump caught a glimpse of himself on television, a fine-looking young man, a fine-looking
candidate. He quipped to a handful of reporters. Then he saw another potential 2024 presidential
contender. There's our competitor. He's a fine guy, Mr. Trump said Monday night. He was talking
about Ron DeSantis. And so far seems like he's being super cordial, right? That's about
to change. He says, quote, I don't know that he's running. I think if he runs, he's
he could hurt himself very badly.
I think he would be making a mistake.
I think the base would not like it.
Okay, so there's more, it gets worse.
But let me just say, you know, Trump has been compared to like a mob boss many times before.
I think that this interview really crystallizes that point.
He added this strange threat.
If he runs, meaning DeSantis.
If he runs, he runs.
If he did run, I will tell you things about him.
that won't be very flattering.
I know more about him than anybody
other than perhaps his wife
who is really running his campaign.
What?
So, all right, Jake,
I'm going to give you a chance to jump in
because obviously he's issuing a threat
while also trying to clown on DeSantis
as someone who's like being controlled
or manipulated by his wife.
It seems like Trump is really terrified
that DeSantis is going to run
and that DeSantis could beat him.
So just a couple of days ago, I became certain that Trump was going to run, and he was going
to easily win the Republican primary.
So there was a little bit of a holding pattern while DeSantis grew in the polls, and then they
would have all these stories of like, oh, my God, Ron, DeSanis is going to beat him.
He's up to 4%.
He's up to 6%.
I was like, okay, let me see how it plays out, right?
And then a couple of days ago, I was like, no, DeSantis is weak.
Trump's going to bulldoze him, right?
And just as I thought that in the next day, he did Ron DeSanctimonious.
It didn't work well for him.
A lot of right-wing pundits criticized them.
And then Ken Griffin, a giant Republican donor giving $60 million, said he's going to give
it to DeSantis, not to Trump, basically.
He's saying he's supporting DeSantis.
And I thought, well, maybe he overplayed his hand.
And maybe if right-wing media and right-wing donors turn on him, that would be his only chance
of losing.
But here we are one day later.
Nope.
Nope, I was right. He's going to bully DeSantis out of the race.
DeSantis is way too scared to run against them.
So these bullying tactics here that you're seeing, they're definitely going to work.
And, I mean, he's already talking about DeSantis' wife.
So DeSantis is inches away from buckling, getting on his knees, and starting to do the
cruise slash Lindsey Graham, you know, boot licking maneuvers.
So he's not going to run against this guy.
This guy's going to shred any Republican who runs against him.
So as a matter of political strategy, what he's doing right now is totally correct.
Interesting.
Okay.
And look, we had shared a new story with you all not too long ago indicating that Ron DeSantis
had said that he has no plans on running in 2024.
To be fair, politicians say that all the time and then they end up announcing their bid
for, you know, elected office, and in this case, it would be for the presidency or the Republican
ticket specifically. Now, during an interview with News Nation on Tuesday, Trump criticized DeSantis
while simultaneously taking credit for DeSantis' political success. So let's get to that statement.
He said this, quote, DeSantis was not even going to be able to even be a factor in the race.
And as soon as I endorsed him, within moments, the race was over. I got him the nomination.
He didn't get it. I got it because the minute I made that endorsement, he got it. Then he ran
and he wasn't supposed to be able to win. I did two rallies. We had 52,000 people at each one and we
ended up, he ended up, I'm sorry, and we ended up he won. Okay. And I thought that he could have been
more gracious, but that's up to him. So apparently he's not like licking Trump's boots
enough. And Trump seems a little bitter about that. But look, for me, the biggest thing is
once you're up on that debate stage, do you have the charisma to kind of overwhelm Trump and
how good he is at connecting with right-wing voters with his rhetoric, with his insults toward
the other candidates running against him? Trump has this ability to just kind of slap down
anyone, including incredibly strong contenders for the Republican ticket. So I don't know how it's
going to play out for sure, but if I had to bet money on it, I just don't see Ron DeSantis having
the characteristics necessary to kind of overwhelm or more importantly outdo Donald Trump on a debate
stage. No, he doesn't. I mean, he's already signaling preemptive surrender. And DeSantis
doesn't get it. He doesn't, Trump's a fascist. And so DeSantis is like, said to insiders,
It's okay. I'll just run in 28. What's the big deal? I'm young anyway. Yeah, if there is a
election in 28, okay, they think that Trump's going to leave. Did it look like he wanted to leave
last time? Oh, no, Jake, you don't know. There's a limit of two terms for the presidency.
Oh, really? Yeah, no, I'm aware of that. Does Trump look like he cares about any law?
Does he look like he cares about the Constitution? What planet are you guys on? He's not going to
leave. He's not going to leave if he wins. And the Democrats are 200% incompetent. I mean,
he'll just do this and knock him over and win. If any of these dumb-ass Democrats run, he'll slaughter
him. I mean, they're all, they're all, they don't know how to fight him. They don't know how to be
vicious. In fact, when I tell them to be vicious, they're going to yell at me, Jake, you're
being too uncivil. Too uncivil. No, no, no. And so DeSantis has said he's not going to run if
Trump runs. And I believe him 100%. He's scared of Trump.
Everybody's scared of Trump.
And by the way, when Trump says that he made DeSantis, that's actually totally true.
So he's a pathological liar.
But on that, we're the fairest show in America.
He's totally right about that.
Yeah, I wanted to jump in to kind of, because you mentioned Democrats and what 2024 looks like,
at least from where we sit today.
Look, obviously, it's a lifetime between now and 2024.
But there are some ongoing trends within the Democratic
party's base that should be concerning them. So, for instance, we're seeing a pivot among
Latino voters toward the Republican Party. And in poll after poll, their top issue, literally
number one issue, is the economy. And I think Democrats thought that they could continue
like riding the wave of, oh, Republicans are bad because of their anti-immigrant rhetoric.
And look, they are terrible for their anti-immigrant rhetoric. I agree with them on that.
However, in terms of winning elections, you have to meet voters where they're at.
And increasingly, Latino voters are swayed by the messaging regarding the economy from
the Republican Party.
Now, obviously, I fully acknowledge that the Republican Party has no solutions to inflation.
You know, they make a big deal about inflation, just like they make a big deal about crime.
But what are their solutions?
What are they going to do?
We never hear any substantive policy proposals or policy solutions from them.
But the problem with Democrats is when it comes to the issues that are raised by the voters
that they're supposed to be catering to, they either don't want to talk about it at all,
or they turn around and they start promoting policies that have no impact on the concerns
of these voters.
So for instance, the Inflation Reduction Act has nothing to do with inflation.
Nothing.
It's named the Inflation Reduction Act, but it has nothing to do with inflation.
So Democrats think that they can just keep talking about how they pass the Inflation Reduction Act,
But people see what's happening with their personal finances.
They see how much inflation is cutting into, you know, whatever disposable income they might have.
And honestly, many Americans these days don't have any disposable income.
Before the pandemic, you know, nearly 50% of Americans couldn't even afford a $400 emergency.
The bread and butter issues is where the Democratic Party, at least used to win.
But they have completely, you know, neglected and abandoned those issues.
They use the rhetoric, but they don't, while they talk to talk, they don't walk the walk.
And that's a huge issue.
It is.
And they don't want to take ownership of that.
Yeah.
So let me just preview for you on election day here in the midterms.
What is the most likely thing to happen?
Trump will run.
The people who say he's not going to run, I don't know what planet they're on.
I just have no idea why they're saying that.
They keep saying it even though it makes no sense at all.
And so he's very, very, very, very likely to run.
All the Republicans will wet themselves and immediately bow out of the race and start licking
all of his boots.
And so that's done.
The Republican primaries are already done within like literally a week from now when Trump
announces he's going to be the Republican candidate.
On the Democratic side, Biden's a mess.
They're going to lose the elections tonight.
And so he's like 287 years old.
And after losing the elections, he won't have enough leverage to run again.
So Gavin Newsom's been licking his chops.
and he's going to come in with his smooth hair.
He's going to be like, yeah, I'm like the neoliberal of all time, corporate Democrat, right?
And the press is going to give him billions in positive media coverage, billions.
And they're going to say, Gavin's the best, Gavin's, he's with the people.
He looks like the least with the people person I have ever met in my entire life, okay?
He looks like, you know, Bruce Wayne and up in his mansion.
And every once in a while he puts out a baseball cap, oh, you're so with the people.
people. Anyways, he's made a chance to raise minimum wage here in California. He could put
$18 minimum wage on the ballot. He decided not to. So a guy like that, he's going to go in
and he's going to try his stupid slick stuff and think that it's going to carry him just like Hillary
and Biden did. And if, you know, and things being what they are, if a progressive does not
derail Gavin Newsom, Trump will unfortunately, and it breaks my heart and it's the worst thing
in the world, but probably will annihilate Gavin Newsom.
Yeah, look, Gavin Newsom deserves to be annihilated. I want to be just give me a minute to just
calmly talk about what the reality is in California, where regardless of what anyone says,
like, what you will hear in California among both Democratic voters and Democratic politicians
is that all of the issues that we're having today date back to Ronald Reagan.
That argument is insane because while Ronald Reagan did do terrible things, including shut down,
you know, mental health facilities, which by the way, JFK also did that.
But nonetheless, okay, that was terrible.
But Democrats have been in charge for, I don't know, Jake, you've been around a little longer
than me.
How long have Democrats been in charge in deep blue California?
A million years.
I mean, so I don't want to say-
We have a surplus here.
We have a surplus, meaning we have money and resources necessary to fix our problems.
This is the most expensive state to live in with the most expensive state taxes, sales taxes.
What do we get in return?
What do we get in return?
So while, yes, we're frustrated and angry right now because we deal with rolling blackouts
on the regular, fact of the matter is, yeah, there's a bad situation in Texas, too, with
they're privatized, deregulated energy grid. I totally agree with that. Republicans not winning
with that energy grid in Texas. But you know what the difference is? In California, they keep telling
us about how we're going to have a better quality of life as long as we go along with their policies,
pay insanely astronomical taxes, tack on all these additional taxes at the gas pump, which,
by the way, those additional taxes are supposed to fix our infrastructure. I mean, the streets are falling apart.
potholes everywhere. What do you mean? It's supposed to be used to fix our infrastructure. Our
infrastructure is crumbling as we speak. Okay? In Texas, Republicans tell you who they are and they do
what they say they're going to do. So when they say that they want to privatize everything and they
believe in the free market strategy of governing, okay, that's what they do. And we see how it
fails in Texas. But the thing that makes me so sick in California is that people like Gavin Newsome,
With his slick hair and his slick talk, make it seem as though he's looking out for the working
class.
He's looking out for the people who elected him to represent them.
He's looking out for clean energy, this, that, like all of these affordable housing.
He pulled a stunt this week where he's like, I'm pulling all state funding from organizations
dealing with homelessness until they can prove to me that they have a plan that'll work.
Oh, how convenient that you're doing that one week before the midterm elections.
How about you do a little leadership prior to that and maybe have a better way of keeping
track of whether or not these nonprofits or these government agencies are doing what's necessary
to ensure that people are freaking housed in the wealthiest state in this country.
It's insane.
We have a surplus.
There is no excuse for us dealing with the situation we're dealing with now in this goddamn
state.
It is insane.
And every time we hear about how, oh, we're building affordable housing, we're building affordable
housing. They don't build affordable housing. They do the exact opposite. Okay. They loosen zoning
laws in some counties. So real estate developers can come in and build luxury condos or luxury
apartments that sit empty. That's what's going on in California. So I apologize if my
negative commentary toward precious Democrats hurts people's feelings. But we've had one single party
rule in this state and they have taken it for granted. They're entitled, right? They're entitled to
keep getting elected, there's no real challenge to their power, so they get to do whatever
they want. And the same corruption that impacts Republicans in states like Texas is the same
virus that's infecting Democratic leadership here in the state of California.
Yeah, last thing I'll say, Gavin Newsom is a guaranteed loss. You'll see it, print it,
you'll see it with your own eyes. Rich people love Gavin Newsom. They absolutely love him.
So everyone in media is rich, everyone in Democratic leadership is rich, they will give him overwhelming propaganda.
And anyone who opposes them, they will try to rip into pieces, right?
But regular people are not going to like Gavin Newsom.
He's a slick guy who's an old school politician, just try to look fancy and then give all the donors, give the donors what they want.
It's a guaranteed loss if we run Gavin Newsom.
And what you will see in the media is 100% the opposite of what I'm.
I just told you. And then when he loses, they'll say it was Progressive's fault.
All right. Let's move on to a different story. And this has to do with some of the
disgusting tricks that are being played when it comes to absentee ballots.
The line at Philadelphia City Hall was overflowing with people yesterday trying to make corrections
to their ballot as the city estimates 3,800 mail-in ballots are at risk of being tossed for minor
errors. The Federman campaign has joined a lawsuit to overturn the state Supreme Court,
ruling that those ballots with a missing or incorrect date will not be counted.
Republican Party, the Republican Party on both a state and national level, is actively
fighting to toss out thousands of absentee and mail-in ballots in key battleground states,
because they never give up. They'll find a way to essentially,
cheat their way to victory. And keep in mind, we're talking about actual battleground states
where the elections are incredibly close. If successful, their efforts could swing the results
of close races. And you just heard about Philly, which is, of course, in Philadelphia,
think about the Senate race there. Now, in states such as Pennsylvania and Wisconsin,
right-wing organizations and Republican groups animated by former President Donald Trump's
big lie, have filed lawsuits seeking to toss ballots on technical.
ground potentially disenfranchising thousands of voters for failing to put a date on the
outer envelope of a ballot or other small, honestly irrelevant mistakes.
Now unfortunately, in Pennsylvania, they have had some success in disenfranchising some voters.
Last week, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court sided with GOP groups in ruling that mail-in and absentee
ballots lacking a correct date on the outer envelope cannot be counted.
Okay. And so they wanted to do even more. Last week, I'm sorry, on Saturday, Philadelphia
city officials published the names of more than 2,000 voters who had returned defective
ballots and urged them to come to City Hall to cast a new ballot in the few days remaining
before Election Day. So think about that, 2,000 ballots that could be tossed. It really
depends on how many people come back to vote again. In Allegheny County, home to Pittsburgh,
Officials posted lists of more than 1,000 names of voters with undated or incorrectly dated
ballots.
Just over 100 cured their ballots on Monday, according to city officials.
So 100 out of 1,000.
And that's the whole game.
That's the whole point to essentially toss out ballots because the Republican groups that are
pushing for these policies believe that the majority of mail-in and absentee ballots are
cast by Democratic voters.
and they want to make sure that those votes don't count.
Yeah.
So, look, Republicans try to cheat newsflash.
But, you know, I was reading articles about it today.
And in mainstream media, they're like, well, you know, a little bit of this and a little bit of that and we can't tell.
Oh, come on, come on.
Come on.
They're so exhausting, right?
So Paul Weirich said this back in the 1980s.
He's the guy who set up American Enterprise Institute Heritage Foundation.
moral majority. He said, the more people vote, the less chance Republicans have of winning.
Why? Because they're the party of big business and multinational corporations.
People don't want to vote for big business. They want to vote for themselves. And Wyrick knows
knew that. Then he needed to trick them. By the way, Donald Trump said it. Donald Trump said,
look, if we have voting at those levels with mail-in voting, you'll never get a Republican elected
in the national level again. Lindsay Graham said it. They all have said it. They know if more people
vote, they're going to lose. So what do they try to do? They try to disqualify votes. They try to cheat
in every single way imaginable. So since we know all of that already, if I was the Democrats,
I'd fight fire with fire. Whatever Republicans did, I would do in Republican areas. Okay. And then
all of a sudden, you would get a fix to it. Why? Because if you ever, like, even tweak Republican
voters 1%. They'll scream to no end. They will howl, right? And be like, okay, good. Now we're
having a conversation. Okay, so if you don't want us to do it to Republican voters, then you
shouldn't do it to Democratic voters. If you don't want us doing it in person voting,
then don't do it to mail voting, right? And so, but Democrats are too cowardly. So they would
never do that. Oh, no, but then somebody in the media will yell at me. I'm just going to lose
with civility. So, look, I don't know if it'll cost Fetterman the election in Pennsylvania,
but it's super close right now. It's super close. And so if I was Fetterman, if I was the Democrats,
I would have a plan ready to, you know, to, if they're going to suppress our votes,
I'd have a plan to suppress their votes. You can go ahead and cry, cry Republicans,
cry. I want you to cry so we can fix the problem and you can stop cheating, right? But Democrats,
way too weak to ever even consider that.
Yeah, and look, the one area in which Republicans luckily did lose in Pennsylvania is they
wanted to prevent the counties from reaching out to the individuals whose votes or whose ballots
had issues.
They didn't want to give them a chance to come back and cast a new ballot with an accurate
date on the ballot.
But luckily, they lost that effort.
Now, there's nothing in Pennsylvania state law that states that counties have to reach out
to these voters whose ballots had issues.
There's also nothing stopping them.
So some of these counties did reach out to voters.
I would be shocked if all counties reached out to voters, because as the Washington Post had reported,
a lot of the individuals they spoke to who had issues with the date on their ballot never received
any communication from any state official about correcting them.
mistake. So there are definitely voters who have been disenfranchised in the state of Pennsylvania.
Now, let's move on to other states, because there are issues in other states as well.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
has joined Federman, by the way, in Pennsylvania on a lawsuit which aims to ensure that ballots
aren't tossed out due to minor inconsequential errors. We'll see what happens with that.
We'll keep an eye on it. But the elections today.
So I'm glad they're fighting back to some extent, but I don't know how much of a difference
it's going to make. Now, Georgia isn't any better. In Georgia, home to a razor-close U.S.
Senate race that could decide control of the upper chamber. Right-wingers have challenged the
eligibility of tens of thousands of individual voters, making use of a GOP-crafted law,
allowing state residents to file an unlimited number of challenges. And so that's just meant to
slow things down and just make it increasingly difficult for people to vote and have their vote
count. In Arizona, Michigan and Nevada, Republicans have filed lawsuits aimed at requiring
the appointment of more Republican poll watchers, which, look, I don't care about that,
as long as they're not intimidating voters, which we have seen in Arizona, which was taking
place at ballot drop boxes in Arizona until finally a judge stepped in and prevented them from
doing it. But having poll watchers who lean Republican, I don't care as long as they're not
intimidating people who are working at the polls or the voters themselves.
So, guys, if I thought not having to date on the ballot like the issue in Pennsylvania was
a real issue because it was going to have people cheat, et cetera, I would be dead set
against letting them vote, okay? Because I know that if there's a slight ability to
cheat, Republicans will jump all over it. You always have to be fair and think about shoe
on the other foot, right? So is the date being wrong or not on the ballot an issue for these
mail-in votes? No, not at all. And the Republicans have not shown that it's an issue. They haven't
shown that there's any kind of cheating or anything like that, right? So given that, then I would go
to the Ugar method, if you will, the Ugar maneuver. So let go to Georgia in that case, right?
So in Georgia, they're saying, all right, we're going to challenge all the Democratic votes in heavily Democratic districts like Atlanta.
Well, Democrats, what are you waiting for?
Why don't you go to heavily Republican districts in suburban and rural parts of Georgia and go, I challenge, I challenge, I challenge, I challenge, I challenge, and clog it up until they have an eight-hour line and no one can vote.
Well, that would be doing the same strategy as Republicans.
Yes, it would.
It's called politics.
Would you like to participate?
No, no, we're going to take it up with the courts seven months from now when they've already
seated the senator.
Okay.
Well, if you don't want to fight back, you're going to lose.
Yeah, yeah, 100%.
All right.
I think we have time for one more story before we go to break and officially begin our election
coverage.
So let's do it.
It was men that brought prosperity in the leadership.
position in this nation. Okay. But, but, but today we have Marjorie Taylor Green.
And, you know, and anybody that votes for her, you're not real conservative.
Age looking pastor, his name is Jason Grabber, uh, from Spokane, Washington, Spokane, Washington.
And, um, he really does represent the traditional conservative ideology that, uh, he really does represent the traditional
conservative ideology that people like Marjorie Green seem to love, right? Well, let's hear a little more
from Pastor Grabber about where he thinks Marjorie Green should really be today.
Marjorie Taylor Green should be at home being obedient to her husband. That's good. That's what
she should be. Where's her husband? Any of these so-called conservative women, you know, why are
why are we putting them in a position of leadership when they can't even figure out which, you know,
a good husband to marry.
Because any husband that allows her, his wife, to go and run for Congress is a pathetic
beta man.
Amen.
Okay, that, that is wrong.
That is wicked.
Okay, there's something wrong with that man.
He shouldn't show his face in public.
He should be so embarrassed.
Seems like Pastor Graber wasn't fully informed on where the current status of Marjorie
Green's relationship is with her husband.
her husband did recently file for divorce, and he cited that the marriage had been irretrievably
broken, which looking at Marjorie Taylor Green and the kind of person she is, I get it.
But I also want to be clear, this pastor is not delightful. I was being sarcastic. You really
have to be clear these days. You never know. But more importantly, this is what they think of women.
Like, this is what they think of anyone who breaks the conservative 1950s nuclear household model.
And these are the people that the Republican Party tends to cater to.
And so I'm just curious what Marjorie Green thinks about that.
I mean, according to this man, according to this pastor, according to a traditional conservative,
she should just be at home.
She has no place in politics.
I think she has no place in politics for other reasons, but nonetheless, Jenk.
Yeah. I mean, Lauren Bober talked about this recently about how she has to obey her husband, something along those lines.
So, look, it's not my ideology. I think it's a backwards, ridiculous ideology.
And but, hey, that's your side, right? And so Marjorie Taylor Green seemed to have a couple of affairs.
And now that they're separated, she's seen around town with another guy.
And, I mean, do you guys mean it or don't you mean it?
I guarantee you that if it was a Democrat, it wouldn't be just that pastor.
It would be every right-wing pastor in the country.
Imagine if Michelle Obama had done that.
Okay, it would be every right-wing preacher, pastor, evangelical person, forget even their leaders, right?
It would be everyone in right-wing media, et cetera.
But even look, the one thing you've got to give this pastor-grabber credit for is,
at least he's being consistent. He's like, Democrats, Republicans, I don't care. Women suck
and they shouldn't have any rights and their only job is to be to serve men. That is a right-wing
position applied consistently. So I guess give him credit for that. But look, man, we don't live
200 years ago. So I don't care what Marjorie Green does in her personal life at all. That's her
business. And but generally speaking, right-wingers don't agree, but only when it comes to
us, but not them.
Right, exactly.
I also wanted to just quickly bring up another issue with this pastor because I had never
heard about him.
I was curious to see what other sermons he's given.
And the guy is seriously unhinged and preaches some pretty dangerous things, including
what you're about to hear.
He talks about teachers and how they should be beheaded.
So just want to give you a warning about that as well.
Let's watch.
And everybody is getting a riled up white.
We have to have the red wave.
We need to have the red wave.
Otherwise, you know, we're going to be destroyed.
You know, and in some ways, yeah, you know, I agree.
We're going to be destroyed, you know.
But here's the thing.
If we have this red wave, are they going to do anything?
No.
Are they going to pass, you know, the abortion ban nationwide
and have all abortion doctors retroactively put to death?
Are they going to do that?
No.
Okay.
So in that video, he's specifically talking about the need to execute abortion providers.
In a different video, he also talked about the need to behead teachers because he believes that they're groomers.
So this is the kind of hate that this guy gets to preach.
But I'm sure it doesn't incite any violence in the country, Jank.
I'm sure that the political violence that we've seen in the country isn't at all connected to the kind of rhetoric that we hear.
from lunatics like this guy.
So look, if you keep calling abortion murder, you shouldn't be surprised when right winger
is saying, start saying, why aren't we locking up the doctors, the mothers, the women,
and then if it's murder, they're right wingers.
They're going to start talking about executing them.
So it's begun.
It's begun.
So I'm sure he's not the only preacher in the country saying it.
But soon there'll be many, many more.
because the Republicans thought it was a winning strategy so they can get tax cuts for the rich.
So they egg these guys on.
Abortion is the original Q&N thing.
Oh, they're harming the children.
Make sure we give tax cuts to the rich because the Democrats are harming the children.
And they get their followers to actually believe these things are true and then start talking about insane things like murdering doctors.
So welcome to the Republican Party in 2022.
And then you wonder why we can look, no matter how incompetent Democrats are, guys like this
force us to vote Republican, I'm sorry, forces to vote Democrat because the Republicans are
monsters, complete and utter backwards monsters.
All right, guys, we're going to take a quick break.
When we come back, we've got more election coverage for you.
Don't miss it.
We'll be right back.
