You're listening to The Young Turks, the online news show.
Make sure to follow and rate our show with not one, not two, not three, not four, but five stars.
You're awesome. Thank you.
We're going to be able to be.
Welcome to the Young Turks, Jay Gugger, Dr. Rashan Ritchie with you guys on a lovely evening in America.
And I say lovely because of course we have bad news, but we also have good.
Good news. Now, that doesn't happen that often, Rashad. How you doing?
Yep, I'm good, my brother. How you doing, man?
Rock and roll. I'm right here, and they can't shake me.
All right, Rashad, take it away. All right, top story of the day, federal hate crimes conviction,
the murderers of Ahmad Aubrey facing justice. Now, there's still more justice to go. I had an
exclusive interview this morning with the father of Amad Aubrey, Marcus Aubury, as he was
literally standing outside of the courtroom waiting for the jury to deliver the verdict
for these hate crimes. Here's some of that interview. Now this is the federal hate crimes
prosecution of it. We're waiting on the verdict. What are your thoughts so far?
We just know Amar was killed because he was a black man and those Mike Michaels and that Bryant was real racist.
All the evidence show all that and all the evidence showed why they're talking him because he was a black man.
Because you can have white people in the neighborhood, had stuff to break law with and steal stuff with bags and all that stuff they had token with them and they never pursued and bother them.
Amont just had his jogging stuff on no two, no burrow to, no nothing.
And that showed that why they're talking him just because he was a black man.
You know, one thing that comes out during a federal hate crimes prosecution is the context of their hate for a particular race.
So in this trial, evidence has been exposed.
A lot of evidence was exposed.
Evidence of their racism, that's one of the things about a federal hate crimes prosecution is that you can bring in evidence that the state was unable to do so based on their theory of the prosecution and theory of the motive.
Now, what we have found out is that the McMichaels not only were racist against Mr. Maude Aubrey, they were racist against basically every black person they have encountered from people they called associates to co-workers, colleagues, et cetera.
of their racism was extreme and their racism led to the criminal attack and murder against
the Mont Aubrey.
Now, the father, Marcus Aubrey also highlighted the reality of more who should be prosecuted
in that interview.
Here it is.
Police boy, it kept the mic, Michael, them trashed run under the road for many years.
You know, Jackie Johnson tied up and all that stuff too, that racist stuff too.
Yep, she's been indicted.
Yes, we got to clean it all up.
And you know, you got to, you got to sit back and look at, look at that video.
That county police, that daddy, he was just so corrupt and racist.
He had the kind of police on his well.
He tried to throw them all so they want to do their best thing thoroughly.
That's why the fairs had to come in, the GBI, I had to come in and take over this case.
Marcus Aubrey, the father of Ahmad Aubrey, laid it out plain.
In playing language, the reality of the McMicha's and Brian is this.
They coexisted in a systemic structure that not only permitted but protected their criminality.
And he alluded to the fact that they have been protecting these particular men and men like them for years.
He cited the name D.A. Jackie Robinson.
And I want to bring your attention, Jackie Johnson, excuse me.
I want to bring your attention to Jackie Johnson in just a moment because there's another relay that has to happen here for ultimate justice to be had.
Let's put up the picture of the killers again, these murderers, and our brother Ahmad Aubrey, who was slain by those men because of those men's hate.
The mother had to speak outside of the courthouse after the verdict.
Now, she had to remind the government of how they mishandled this from day one.
Now, the government was supposed to be on their side, right?
The prosecution was prosecuting the killers of their son.
They're supposed to be working together to seek justice for Maude Aubrey.
She reminded some folks of a few things.
Let's put up her picture.
She's a pillar of strength, a remarkable woman.
That family has had to go to every single.
hearing, every single motion, and they've been doing it since the beginning.
Speaking outside of the courthouse after the verdict was announced,
Wanda Cooper Jones mother of Amad Aubrey called out the US Department of Justice for
originally agreeing to accept a plea deal from her son's killers in federal court.
Remember that? So now watch the systemic situation from the beginning of this.
One, she was failed by the DA, two, failed by the county three, she was then failed by the
prosecutors who said they would help. It gets deeper. She said and I quote, I now want to
address the members of the DOJ. I'm very thankful that you guys brought these charges of hate
of hate crime, but back, but back in January 31, you guys accepted a plea deal with
these three murderers who took my son's life. She continued. Marcus, the father of Amad
Aubrey, and two of Amad's aunts stood before the courts and begged the judge not to take
the plea deal, that the DOJ, that the DOJ went before the judge and asked them to take the plea
deal with these guys. Cooper Jones said that she spoke to DOJ prosecutors and begged them.
them to not take the plea deal in the case.
She said and I quote, they ignored my cry.
I begged them even after the family stood before the judge and asked them.
Asked the judge to not take this plea deal.
The lead prosecutor, Tara Lyons, stood up and asked the judge to ignore the family's cry.
That's not justice for Ahmad.
Now I've got to remind everyone, over 90% of federal judges accept the plea deals that are offered to them by prosecutors.
If it had not been for the scrutiny of this trial, for the reality of leaders, people like yourself and others being involved in this case, and the family being dogmatic about justice, full of justice for Amad Aubrey, this federal judge would have likely taken that plea deal.
It shouldn't be this hard for black folks to get simple justice in the United States of America.
Now let me tell you another criminal that needs to be locked up for life.
The DA, let's put a picture up. That's a mug shot.
Now, her name is Jackie Johnson, former district attorney of the Glen County District Circuit.
The Crips and Bloods ain't got nothing on her. That's the real gangster. You're looking at her, okay?
ex-Gland County DA Jackie Johnson turned itself in.
This was at the Glenn County Sheriff's Office, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
This is when it happened after a grand jury returned an indictment on counts of obstruction
and violations of oath of office by public officer Johnson was released from the Glenn County
detention center on a $10,000 bond, the paper report.
State prosecutors alleged that she used her position to delay arrest of the white men who chased
and kill the 25 year old Arbery.
Now I wanna remind everyone of this,
the way she is being prosecuted,
they're being light with her.
They don't wanna let you know that not only did she
delayed the arrest,
you tried to cover up the murder.
That's a different charge.
They don't want her to be charged,
they don't want her to be charged
with conspiracy after the fact.
They don't want her to be a charge
with aiding and abetting.
They don't want you to even think about those charges.
They want you to think this woman only violated
her oath of office to the degree
of just delaying the arrest.
This was not a delayed arrest.
This was literally an attempt to cover up a murder.
And when we did some digging, we found that she did it before in another case involving a woman who was killed by the local police and she covered up for them as well.
And the jury, the grand jury who decided not to indict the cops who killed this woman under her jurisdiction said the DA lied to them about the evidence.
If it had not been for a Jackie Johnson SDA, I submit to you, I don't think the McMicha's would have been emboldened to do what they did.
She's just as much guilty for the murder of Amad Aubrey.
Johnson was the county's top prosecutor when Amad Aubrey was fatally shot last year, the one and one of the armed men who pursued him had worked for her as an investigator.
The Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, who's a Republican, sought the indictment after requesting an investigation of possible misconduct by local prosecutors who failed to bring charges in this killing.
You see, we keep talking reform, and the truth is we need replacement.
The laws are on the books to properly enforce, but if the powers that be choose not to properly enforce them, infraction means nothing without enforcement.
culture, it's policy alive every day of the week.
Jank, what are your thoughts, brother?
Yeah, so clearly two very disparate thoughts here, just the same way that you viewed it.
On the one hand, we got a conviction today, and that is a great cause to celebrate, and we got a little bit of justice.
And so, I mean, it makes me want to play this old friend.
Ladies and gentlemen, we got them.
And so great to see these guys get convicted again.
But I was going to say the same thing about Jackie Johnson, and I have in previous shows.
Without the cover of the law protecting them, which is exactly how it was during the Jim Crow days and after the Civil War.
They could not do the terror and they would not assume that they would get away with the terror.
And Jackie Johnson clearly tried to cover up this crime.
That's accomplice after the fact.
And the fact that she was the DA doesn't make that better, it makes it worse.
So it's one thing when your accomplice helps you after a murder, get rid of the body,
is another thing when you're accomplice is the DA and she says, oh, no, don't worry, you'll never be punished.
there'll never be any consequences. Not only does that prevent justice in that case,
and it would have, if it weren't for all of you guys, which I'm going to get back to in a second,
but on top of that, it's a green light to do it again. Right. And not just for the McMicha's,
but for everybody who knows Jackie Johnson, oh, you make a black man disappear in this county,
you're going to, you have a free pass, okay? And this is a great example of it because this,
it doesn't get any more egregious in this case.
So they chase him down, as you all know, right?
And he's jogging in the neighborhood.
And then they shoot him down for no reason in the middle of the day
because there's a black man in their neighborhood and they won't have it.
And so they murder him.
It's an old school lynching.
And she looked at that and thought, add a boy.
And she told the cops not to pursue.
Well, what does that tell you?
That's not an honest mistake.
an honest mistake like that. That's right, right? This is not a close case. Oh, well,
you know what, I knew these cops and they shot a little early and the guy had a gun,
and we probably shouldn't have shot. Nothing like that, nothing, nothing, nothing to justify it
other than, oh, you killed a black man, congratulations, I'll help you cover it up. So she should
see significant time in jail. And look, I say you guys, because to echo what Rashad was
was saying earlier, without public spotlight, they would have gotten away with it.
No question. Jackie would have, Johnson would have covered it up and it never would have risen
back up. She had it buried, it was over. But now, because we're able to put public pressure
on, because of one of the idiots taped a part of it and it leaked, and whoever leaked it,
by the way, is a hero. And because all of us were outraged, both the shows and the
audience and said no, no, no, no, not on our watch. These are not the old days. We're not
going to let you get away with it. And what the right wing do the whole time? Oh, they're just
complaining, you know, the whole time. In this case, and Rashad, in every other case, right?
Oh, they're just complaining. The racism doesn't actually exist. Well, Amin Arbery's dead,
so I'm pretty sure it exists. So, and then one more thing. As I was looking at Rashad,
I saw that they had public defenders, right? Now, they were.
convicted, written house was acquitted. A written house didn't have public defenders. The right
wing had raised millions of dollars for his defense. And as everybody knows, when you're rich and
you got big lawyers, you have a much, much better chance of getting off no matter what happened.
Those are two different cases, two different fact patterns, and the jury made their decisions in both.
But those millions of dollars the right wing got to Rittenhouse made all the difference.
Yeah, yeah.
And listen, I can't neglect the reality of the fact that the DA at the time who engaged in the cover up has now been indicted.
The DA should be held to a higher standard of responsibility.
And here's what we've accepted, Jank.
We've accepted that medical doctors should be held to a higher standard of care.
or higher standard of responsibility.
We've accepted that psychiatrists should be held to a higher standard of responsibility,
school teachers, professors, and others.
But somewhere, we started to believe that law enforcement should be held to a lower standard
of responsibility.
There has to be a point, brother, where we start making examples out of those who violate
the public trust and shock the conscience of America.
And until we start doing that, you will continue to see the inequity of our justice system
played out when it comes to prosecutions like this. This one we caught. We called in time
publicly, but there are prosecutions like this that should be happening all across America.
And don't believe for a minute that this was the DA's first time covering up anything.
And those would never come to the light, unfortunately. All right, next story.
Joe Biden. This is quite fascinating. The advisors are telling him, hey, Joe, you got to choose your political opponent. It can't be Trump. So we got to find somebody. We got to manufacture somebody for you to fight against in order to win the midterm elections. It's fascinating to me that they continue to miss the ball over and over again. All right? So the consultants are now saying that they're worried about the Democrats' fate in the 2022 midterm.
You should have been worried about that last year.
All right, I'm glad you're getting around to it.
I'm worried for you.
You should be worried.
Their proposed solution is to elevate a member of the GOP other than Donald Trump to be Biden's main opponent.
All right, let's get corn pop or whoever that was.
Okay, so they're saying the voters are more likely to side with the president, the president's party if he's compared to an alternative.
That's a damn shame.
This brings us to an article written by Axio, so let's get it to it.
Team Biden's muscle memory is to elevate and focus on the best FOIA Democrats have ever been gifted, Donald Trump.
But as Terry McCullough's loss in the Virginia governor's race showed last fall,
running against an out of office Trump won't cut it with voters. Biden advisors know they need to bring Republicans back
back into the freight and interrupt the ceaseless new cycles about democratic infighting.
They want to avoid inside baseball stories about the president as a legislative tactician
dealing with moderate senators. Advisors are taken Biden's close relationship with Republicans
into account. So Biden confidants, all right? Worry that House
minority leader Kevin McCarthy is to unknown that Biden won't demonize senator minority
leader Mitch McConnell, who's actually a demon by the way, I checked because of their longstanding
and collegial relationship and that elevating Florida governor Ron DeSantis could backfire.
So let me pause here and then I get back into the background of the story. Literally they're
missing the one point that she'll be paying attention to. Delivery, if they delivered on the
agenda they campaigned on, this would not be a problem because the majority of Americans are still
with them as it relates to what they said they will do. The majority of Americans line up with
the values they promoted and proclaimed during the election. The majority of Americans are with
them on the values and the policy that they say they stand for. The issue is not the campaign
rhetoric is the governing. They have not provided the package. They haven't delivered. All right,
it gets deeper. So why not DeSantis, all right? Because it seems like, all right, you know,
DeSantis not a very likable guy. He can't pull the middle, can he? Some Biden advisors are
reluctant to contest every midterm race based on the DeSantis signature issue, COVID-19,
Because the Biden administration's approaches on vaccine and mask mandates may be a political liability with some swing voters.
Biden will likely still invoke Trump when the setting makes sense as he did on his January 6th anniversary speech.
But advisors do not expect him to run the Trump-obsessed playbook they've run against others, all right?
Still, it was only recently that Democrats came around to this realization of not running a campaign focused on Donald Trump, all right?
Now I said this before. I said, I think they're believing they can simply bring everybody back to the table and say, hey, you got to vote for us again because we're really the only game in town.
Look at the alternative. Well, that's not working. Since the Democrats are drubbing in Virginia last fall, vulnerable House Democrats have been warning against taking too much.
talking too much about the former president.
Today, there's close to a consensus that Democrats cannot hold Congress by focusing on Trump.
It would be a mistake to run against Trump in the 2020 elections, says Senator Chris Coons.
All right. One Biden posed to argue that Dems were doing too much governing, okay?
One of the problems, you got to listen, you got to laugh not to cry.
One of the problems, according to this expert, one of the problems is our messaging has been driven by governing, not by campaigning.
And we need to move it to campaign mode. If you're trying to negotiate on the hill, it's hard to draw contrast.
If you're trying to win November 22 elections, you must draw contrast. Now I'm going to speak now as a professional political consultant and strategist for years.
I was the political director and chief strategist for the Georgia Democratic Party.
I won a record number of political campaigns, was cited as best political strategists of the year,
two years in a row. You know how I got there? By recruiting people that gave a damn about the
policies, rather than trying to create optical illusions around them in order to manipulate
voters to participate. It was governing and campaigning. It was connecting the practical to the policy.
letting people know these individuals will fight their ass off for you, and if they can't deliver
it, they will fight tooth and nail to get it to you. And if they don't deliver it,
respect the fact they put every move on the table. That strategy worked. It was governing and campaigning.
The greatest campaigning message you will ever have is your success in governing. And that's
what they have failed to connect here. There's more. Instead of focusing on one polarizing figure,
She argues them should be more broad about who they go after.
She advocates drawing a broader contrast with the MAGA faction,
including Republicans who supported the violent insurrection,
and now won't depart in January 6th Rogers.
That's a much better foil than just talking about picking one obscure congressional leader
that nobody will know anyway or a future presidential nominee that nobody will know anyway.
I got to tell you all, they are probably, the Democrats are going to mess this up so bad,
they will likely pick the next Republican president.
You just got to understand. This is, this is how awful it is right now, all right? Okay, bottom line, Biden may not find a truly effective GOP foil until after the midterm elections. A GOP control house would allow Biden to pick daily fights and present his policies as an alternative. He won't do it. The last two Democratic presidents won re-election after losing the House in the midterm election. Right now, Biden's approval ratings said about 40%, that's the lowest thus far. I got to remind everyone, and I said this on day one,
is an institutionalist.
He's an institutionalist.
He believes there's something sacred about that presidency.
Not a damn thing sacred about that office.
Nothing.
If it was, Trump ruined it.
It's a different game today.
The only thing sacred are the voters that put you in there.
That's the sacredness of democracy.
Not your position, not your precious institutions, but the people who said we're going to vote for you,
even though none of us are excited about you, we're going to vote for you because you're telling
us, here's what you would do with our good faith trust in you.
The institution be damned.
Voters are the sacred ones.
Jank, what are your thoughts here?
All right, so first of all, they're such short-term thinkers.
They were going to run all their campaigns anti-Trump because that's what worked in the last election in 2020.
So as soon as they lose in Virginia running an anti-Trump campaign that McColliff did, they go, okay, that's it.
that's out the window. So they're looking for new foils, as they put it. And one of the things
they came up was, was January 6 people. That's the same thing, guys. That's like you're running in
the past, and you run in the past because you didn't actually do anything. Obviously, I agree
100% with what Rashad said about doing something, but I'll go further, right? So Biden promised a great
number of things. He just didn't deliver on them. Right now, a poll came out recently that said
56% of Americans think that Biden delivered nothing. Literally nothing. 56% of the country
ain't Republican. That's a lot of Democrats and that's a lot of independence that he's saying
Biden and his crew did nothing. So their answer is, oh yeah, so we got to find someone
worse than us. No, do better. Instead of going, okay, look, I'm in the dumpster,
but I need to find someone below the dumpster. Why don't you get out of the dumpster?
Okay, why don't you actually try to pass something? But Rishat, he doesn't have it in him.
He doesn't have it in him. They're respecting the institution is just BS code words for I'm going to
sit on my ass and deliver what I actually promise, which was to the donors. I told them the one
line that progressives said over and over again in the primaries. And we were a hundred percent
right. Every liar in the mainstream media never goes back to it. We said that the most
important thing he said during that whole campaign was when he was in a room full of donors,
that nothing would fundamentally change. And he delivered. He delivered for his donors.
But that's, that's his real constituency is. All the institution talk, the filibuster talk,
the parliamentarian talk is just nonsense marketing for doing exactly what his donors wanted.
They love the status quo. That's what made them billions of dollars. And then they give
millions to Biden and Pelosi and Schumer so they can continue the status quo. So they're never
going to get to the real answer because their whole party for the last 40 years has been set
up on the idea of deliver for the donors and then trick your voters.
into voting for you. Well, time's up. Time's up. We're not getting tricked anymore and it's
driving them crazy. But guys, look, think about that one line in there that to me was so critical.
They're trying to find a person to vilify because Trump didn't work in Virginia. And Biden doesn't
want to attack Mitch McConnell. But wait a minute, Mitch McConnell as the leader of the Republicans,
He's also the worst corporate goon in politics in our lifetimes.
He's arguably worse than Trump.
He's taken over a billion dollars in donor money.
He's the guy who was critical in Citizens United in McCutcheon in making politics dirty and corrupt.
He's patient zero.
And Biden thinks I like him more than my own voters.
I like him more than my own party.
Even if it means we're going to lose, I refuse to attack my dear, dear friend Mitch McConnell
because he cares so much more about him than he does about you.
And that's a fact, that's a fact, that's Axios, mainstream media 101 reporting from Democratic
insiders saying, well, obviously we can't attack McConnell because Biden and McConnell are best friends.
That is grotesque, it's sick.
And the fact that people in Washington, Democrats in Washington, don't realize that that's sick, that not only do overwhelming majority of Democratic voters hate that idea, it's nearly vomitous.
And for a second there, Rashad, I thought they were going to get a little bit better because they at least were coming out with a plan, right?
Before their plan was, we're going to lose and we're going to blame progressives.
That's why you saw article after article.
We covered it on TYT network for the last couple of weeks where they were saying, oh, when we lose, it was.
progressives fall. They did something wrong in the San Francisco school board, this, that,
and the other thing. Now, at least they're trying to win. They're like, okay, I don't know,
let's find somebody under the dumpster. Maybe we blame him for all the problems, even though we're
in charge of everything, right? But then you get to the end of the article and they're like,
no, no, no, the actual plan is to go back to losing. We're going to lose the house. And then
once we lose the house, a bad guy will emerge out of the Republicans, then we'll blame everything
on him. Okay, but when do you pass something? When do you pass something? If the Republicans have
the house, it's already too late. That means Biden, Rashad, that means Biden is currently planning
to pass absolutely nothing for the next three years, including voting rights, including the
bare, bare, bare minimum of voting rights. Yeah. All right, we got more on the other side.
Going to a break.
shot with you guys. Dr. Ritchie, take it away. All right, city of Atlanta, supposedly a progressive
city arrested a trans woman for having cocaine when they knew she did not, called her a homophobic
slur, and then decided to keep her in jail for six months until another lab tested
the fake cocaine.
There was never cocaine.
Let's put up a picture of this woman who was brutally assaulted by the criminal justice system.
She has now been awarded $1.5 million by federal grand jury.
Let's keep a picture up.
A federal jury has ordered Atlanta police to pay over a million dollars in compensation to a black trans woman for arresting her over a false drug charge.
According to the local station, WSB TV, a federal jury awarded the black transgender woman from Atlanta, $1.5 million after she spent six months in jail for being arrested on fake cocaine charges.
All right, so first of all, the money is not enough, okay?
There's a back story here that's extreme.
This actually started October 2015.
The young lady's name is Juzima Gold Ring.
Jusima was walking with friends when two city of Atlanta police officers stopped and questioned the entire group.
The officers accused Gold Ring of the extreme crime of jaywalking.
A crime that she says never happened.
They then arrested her. Now remember, what's the pretext here?
Jaywalking. So the cops admitted on the record, well, we only arrested her for
Jay Walker. Who the hell gets arrested for jaywalking? You already see the targeting,
the bias, the systemic prejudice, right? So they are arresting her for jaywalking.
And as she is handcuffed, something else happens during the arrest,
An officer searched Gold Ring's purse and found a stress ball, a basic stress ball.
He cut it open and tested it for cocaine.
It wasn't cocaine.
It was just the regular stuff inside of a stress ball.
Defense attorney said despite the fact that the test was negative, the officer still charged
Ms. Gold Ring with trafficking cocaine.
During the arrest, Gold Ring's attorney said one of the officers used
an anti-trans slur violating the policy of the department.
Now, because of Georgia law, this arrest is still on the record of this woman.
She has a felony trafficking charge on her record.
She has to go through extra judicial remedy, and it takes time to get it off.
Now, she remained in jail for six months.
They knew good and damn well.
there was no trafficking, there was no cocaine, they misrepresented this from day one.
The story gets deeper.
Even after further test, and those tests revealed she did not have any drugs, she still stayed for six months.
Another test by the GBI, Georgia Bureau of Investigations also came back negative.
Gold Ring was released eventually.
But she served six months in jail.
They did dismiss the charges, former Channel 2 anchor Craig Lucy.
spoke to Gold Ring after her release. She told him she was detained in a male jail where she was
assaulted. The 1.5 million in compensation comes as a result of a lawsuit she filed against
the injustices done to her. Gold Ring's attorney filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against
the city in 2019. Remember this happened in 2015. They filed a lawsuit in 2019. A judge ruled
that the Atlanta police will now have to pay gold ring 1.5 million. Gold Ring's attorney said
she was the victim of police scrutiny based on her identity as a trans woman, all right?
The attorney Miguel A. Dominguez highlighted the win for justice said and I quote,
this case signifies a small but significant victory on behalf of the LGBTQ plus community
and other marginalized people here in Atlanta who have been suffering through
discriminatory and callous policing by individuals who swear to protect and serve their communities,
but who under the cover of darkness are indifferent to the consequences to their discriminatory practices on the most vulnerable among us.
You know, the city of Atlanta who recently had an openly lesbian chief, who has a progressive currently as the mayor,
who has members of council who are noted progressives in the city, they defended the case.
They took it to trial. They defended the cop. They said the cop was innocent. Now, here's the reality
of what we're seeing. It is clear that these cops who are supposed to be investigators,
these cops knew that there was no cocaine. They tested it because of their mobile units to test
drugs, no cocaine. They then still created a false police report citing that this person
has committed a felony trafficking cocaine. There's no cocaine. One, we have to stand up for our
stop. Do you know how fast you were going? I'm going to have to write you a ticket to my new

in this case. She was targeted. This is bigoted behavior. This behavior should have no place
in a public arena whatsoever. We are literally funding our own oppression. They are paid by
tax dollars. The public is funding it. Here's the other side of the coin that must be discussed.
Why are these cops not in handcuffs? They filed a false police report. They lied about what the
substance was, they violated the human rights of an individual, where are they?
What's going to happen to them? Nothing at a damn thing. And that's why I say corruption is
expensive. Democrats, Republicans, independents, non-political people should be on the side
of justice because justice is affordable. It's corruption that costs money. So now the city
is going to have to pay for the corruption of these cops because they decided to be bigoted.
to target an individual because that person is different.
We have to start adding the humanity back into not only our conversations,
but also how we hold others accountable.
What happened to this woman lacks humanity?
Six months incarcerated for something you never did.
Life turned upside down.
You have a felony charge on your record.
And the charge of all things is for trafficking cocaine and you never touched this stuff.
Yeah.
So, Rashad, first of all, I'm going to get into all the injustices you did.
But let's also remember, hey, she got one and a half million dollars.
So we got a tiny bit of justice today.
We got a tiny bit of justice, okay.
Not enough money, Jane.
Not enough.
No, of course not.
And I can prove it.
So you said that they should, the country.
cops should be in handcuffs and get arrested.
Now, of course, for most Americans that grew up on traditional media, they think that's
an outrageous thing to say, Rashad.
I mean, those are cops that just happened to make a mistake, but you know they didn't
make a mistake.
You know that the cocaine, that it did not test positive for cocaine, twice.
They knew it wasn't cocaine.
It wasn't an honest mistake.
It wasn't an honest mistake to pretend that she was jaywalking, right?
So now, what did they do?
They robbed six months of her life, you can't get that back, right?
So, and all we have is time.
And so if they were not cops and they had run into any person on the street, if you're watching this right now, no matter what your political persuasion is, it doesn't know, or your race or anything, it doesn't matter.
Imagine if somebody came up to you on the street, kidnapped you and put you in a dungeon for six months.
Well, would you say, if you, would you agree to that? No, of course not.
Would you think that the person who did that to you should be arrested?
Of course, they kidnapped me and put me in a cell and I couldn't get out.
I mean, it's every kind of crime committed, right?
But in our country, we think it's normal for the cops to do that.
You know what has happened to the cops?
Nothing.
They're not fired.
The police department says they're not going to get fired.
No, because they view that as normal.
And to Rashad's earlier point, the whole system thought it was normal.
Nobody thought, oh, it didn't test positive for cocaine.
Wait, wait, why do we even arrest her?
Jaywalking, wait.
You or I said somebody who were jaywalking?
No, everybody thought, oh, you wanted to, it's super obvious.
You wanted to harass her.
So you made up a charge.
And then the other charge we know isn't true.
Let's keep on going.
Let's keep her in jail.
Keep her in jail.
Everyone agreed.
Keep her in jail.
Who cares?
She's an identity we don't identify with.
We don't empathize with.
And we want to hurt.
So guys, look, the main thing that I ask are our audience and everybody
else. Let's just try a little empathy, right? So put yourself in their shoes for just one
second. So for the right wing who say, oh, there's no racism, there's no sexism, there's no
LG, there's no homophobia, et cetera. Well, does this look like equal treatment? Does it look
like it was justice? You know that if it happened to you, then you out of the blue. You didn't
even do the small, small thing of jaywalk. If cops come up to you, they harassed you. Let's say it's
for your political opinions. Let's say it's for whatever. I know you can't imagine if it's based
on your race, if you're white, right? Or if you're straight, etc. You can't imagine that it could
happen to you. But I'm asking you to imagine because it happens to your fellow Americans. So you
got to make a decision. Do you care or don't you care? If you say, hey, that's a human being like
me. And I want her to be treated just like me. I want her to be treated with equality and with
justice. Then you're an American. And we love you for it. And we'll all fix the system
together, okay? But if you say, no, I don't care about her. I don't care that she was
locked up in a dungeon for six months when she didn't do anything wrong. In fact, I kind of like
it. She's transgender. It bothers me. I don't want her in the bathroom. I don't want her
competing in sports. And if the cops take away her freedom, I was just lying about freedom.
I don't, I want freedom for me. I want also the freedom to oppress you. But I don't actually
want freedom for the rest of you guys. Okay, then that's okay. Just own it. Just own it. And go
around telling everybody how much you hate America and you hate the idea of equality,
you hate the idea of justice, then at least there'll be truth and labeling and we can have
an honest conversation. But if you care about any of those things, you have to be rooting
for her. And if you're not, you should ask yourself, why not? But thank God, we got a little
bit of justice today for her. I hope to God that it would prevent others from doing it. The problem
is we have qualified immunity. So the cops never, ever, ever feel the consequences of it.
And every police department protects every crooked cop till the cows come home.
They never, ever punish them.
So they're out to free to do it again.
And the memo sent to all the cops.
The taxpayers paid for it.
Who cares? Do it again.
There's no consequences.
Yeah.
Qualified immunity, another relic of a racist core that has continued to be applied in very
similar ways in modern America.
All right, we got time for another story?
No, we got to take the quick break here.
When we come back, we've got another story for you guys.
Are we invading Canada?
We will sort that out when we return.
All right, back on TYT, Jank and Rashad with you guys.
Before we get started, I just want to read two quick super chats.
Chaplain Fred said, cannot believe the docs in the house.
Love your work, Dr. Ritchie.
It's a privilege to be part of the TYT family.
always praying for you doc thank you chaplain yeah that's a wonderful thing to say everybody
don't forget but you already didn't forget uh watch indisputable it's on every day it's awesome
and it's the fastest growing show on the planet and robert says if you're a sinner dr richie
will tell you that and you should believe him and probably change is that a haiku
I don't know, but it sounded really good.
Sounded dope.
Money. Thank you for that.
Absolutely. All right.
What's next time?
All right.
The greatest black, white supremacist in America.
No, not Clayton Bixby.
Candice Owens.
Candice Owens now wants America to invade Canada.
because Canada enacted their emergency powers in order to protect Canadians.
And Canadians agree with it, but the small minority of Canadians who disagree with it drive trucks and are connected to a white supremacist movement.
She wants to protect the white supremacist in Canada.
She is now expanding her territory here.
Okay, let's go ahead and put up the tweet. Fascinating here.
Over the weekend, Canada's always tweeted, stop talking about Russia.
That's a good white man. No, that's not what she said. That's what she meant.
Send American troops to Canada to deal with the tyrannical reign of Justin Trudeau Castro.
He has fundamentally declared himself dictator.
But the Russian guy is a dictator.
All right, he has fundamentally declared himself dictator and is waging war on innocent
Canadian protesters and those who have supported them financially.
Now, I think this is the time when I highlight that out of 11 Canadians who were arrested,
four of them actually had body armor, weapons, semi-automatic weapons, and bombs,
and they were going to kill the royal police.
Well, they discovered this before it happened.
But they were in conspiracy to do so.
Okay.
February 14th, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared a national emergency,
which is well within the Canadian statutes and constitution.
The Canadian lawmakers voted last night to extend the emergency powers,
once again, statutorily acceptable.
And the emergency power says that the police can invoke
to quell any potential restart of blockades, all right? All legal, all acceptable.
Now, the Emergencies Act allows authorities to declare certain areas, no go zones.
It also allows police to freeze truckers personal to corporate bank accounts and compel and compel tow truck companies to haul away vehicles.
Now, that seems extreme. I get it, all right? It's Canada. Okay, the Canadian people do not agree with Candace O.
One poll found that 62% of respondents did not support the protesters' message of no vaccine mandates and less public health measures.
There's your data, all right?
65% of respondents agreed with the statement.
The convoy is a small minority of Canadians who are selfishly thinking only about.
themselves. Now here's another caveat. You know, 91% of the truckers are actually vaccinated.
Yeah, 91% already vaxed. Fifty seven percent agree with the statement. The convoy in Ottawa is not
about vaccine mandates and pandemic restrictions. It's an opportunity for right wing
supremacist groups to rally the convoy data right. Right.
there, Canadians agree that this faction of white supremacist protesters does not represent them.
A poll published on the 17th of this month show Canadians don't even agree with Candice
on Trudeau's decision to declare an emergency. The result of a national survey released
by Maru public opinion finds two thirds of Canadian support Prime Minister Justin Trudeau bringing in the
Emergencies Act to give the federal government extra powers to handle the protest across the country.
The protesters represent a tiny minority of Canada's trucker since almost 90% have been vaccinated.
Candace isn't the only right winger taking advantage of this. Tucker Carlson is getting in on
the action. He has t-shirts. It's a play on his name. All right. There you go. Look at Tucker
for getting in on the white supremacist action.
Nice white shirt there.
Pro temper, pro freedom.
All right, the irony here is staggering Republicans like Candace Owens.
They believe that no, America should not be utilized in order to solve actual humanitarian
issues, no invading, no going to another country to solve that.
But America should be used to protect white supremacists in other countries.
That's how we should use the US military, according to.
to Candace Owens.
Cenk thoughts on this.
Yeah, so there's disagreement among conservatives on whether she represents the movement
or not.
Some old school conservatives saying, oh, just ignore her, she's just trying to get attention.
Nobody else thinks that.
And others like Joe Walsh, she's a former congressman saying, no, that's not true.
I think she probably represents a great majority of Republican voters.
And now Joe Walsh doesn't agree with her, but he's saying, let's keep it real.
I think that's what the case is.
I think Joe Walsh is right.
I think that she does represent the majority of Republicans, and that's because she's a good grifter.
She's a professional grifter, and a professional grifter isn't going to give you something you don't want, right?
So why did she rise to fame in the first place?
Because what the right wing wanted was a black face telling them that blacks are inferior and whites are superior.
So Candace gave him that, and they gave her millions of dollars.
So now she's saying, oh, yeah, let's spread white supremacy to Canada.
They love it.
That's why she's getting paid more.
She knows what she's doing.
And so then, you know, you talk about the hypocrisy of the right wing.
My whole life, they've been talking about law and order.
Oh, we got to have law and order, right?
Right.
And then we have law and order here.
And they're like, oh, goddamn law and order, can't stand.
I mean, it's amazing, right?
It's amazing.
I mean, they discussed in the White House for three.
hours after Trump lost the election, many weeks after he lost, and now he's getting desperate.
And Mike Flynn, his former national security advisor, came in and pitched the idea of martial
law, that the military should seize the ballot boxes and should do a redo of the election
while we have military rule in America.
So now, Candace Owens and the right wing are pretending, oh my God, the government.
Seizing power, it's unbelievable, we hate it, can't believe it, can't stand it.
In a while, just a short while ago, they were thinking of doing martial law in America.
So look, there's no bounce to their hypocrisy, and they know it and they laugh about it.
They don't care, they know their audience doesn't care about, facts, logic, hypocrisy, irony, they don't care about any of them.
They just think, me want power, me want power, okay, it doesn't matter who wants it.
The whole point of protests, and I'm pro protests, I don't even mind people taking over the highways.
I've seen left wing protesters. I've seen civil rights protesters do that.
Nothing wrong with that. But the point of the protest is to bring attention to your issue.
Well, here, my God, they got the attention of Canada and America and many other countries.
Mission accomplished. So then you ask the Canadian people, and their answer was, as Rashad read you the polls,
Basically, their answer was, Trudeau, aren't you going to get these guys off the streets already?
Right, right?
They weren't like, oh, we're so sympathetic.
Oh, I can't believe the government's making them take a vaccine.
Oh, don't do that.
We should change the laws.
No, the Canadians in unison shouted, get them off the goddamn streets.
We don't agree with you.
You don't represent us.
You're a political minority.
And if you're a racial minority, your rights.
to be protected. If you're a political minority, that means you lost the debate.
Right. Right. And by the way, progressives, unfortunately, have been a political minorities
before. That's not a thing. You can't complain about that. You have to just go and win the next
election, right? So you can't take over all the streets and say, even though I know I'm 9%
of the truckers and 91% of the truckers disagree with me, I want to win anyway. I want power
anyway. I don't care about anybody else. I wanted. And finally, look, some of the right wing
are making good points about how, look, I don't know why we need Ukraine and NATO, and I don't
know why we're flirting with World War III on this principle of having Ukraine and NATO. I
don't, I don't agree with that. I think it's wrong. Having said that, Russia is literally
moving in troops to take more territory in Europe as we speak.
Usually when aggressive, authoritarian leaders take territory in Europe, it ends very, very, very badly.
And she doesn't say she's concerned about that, but has issues about our policies as well.
She just says, who cares?
J.D. Vance said, what do I care about Ukraine anyway?
The right wing in unity, today Trump came out, and he's talking about, oh, Putin's strategy was so smart, so smart.
He said we could use some of those strong peacekeeping forces on our southern border.
So the right wing, cheerleading and, I mean, celebrating Mother Russia, the right wing.
I mean, we live in an Alice in Wonderland, Wonderland upside down world.
And they turn around and say literally in this case, invade Canada.
I mean, if that's not insane, what is?
This is not a legitimate political party.
It's a party that's lost this absolute mind.
And because they're so desperate to hold on the power, they've never cared about democracy.
All they ever cared about was their ability to oppress others.
I agree with you 100% on that.
And here's the issue.
A party that has basically disqualified themselves, they are still competitive, they are still
powerful, they are still likely to win a midterm election season if Democrats do not turn it around.
And here's the reality of Republicans.
Say what you want to say about them, but they know how to do one thing very well.
They know how to retain power and use it.
Democrats would tell you to give them power.
And when you give them power, they would then complain about how they don't have the power to do what you have empowered them to do.
And that is a problem.
And as long as we continue to elect institutionalists and corporate Democrats,
that problem will permeate in our political culture.
All right.
Jank, that's my hour, brother.
I love it.
everybody check out indisputable just type it indisputable or rachat ritchie on any platform you'll get it
right away and we got a second hour coming up that is amazing including updates on if we're at war
