Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to The Young Turks, the online news show. Make sure to follow and rate our show with not one, not two, not three, not four, but five stars. You're awesome. Thank you. Has just been, you know, not good. I'm so upset. Oh my God. Well, hello. Explosive. Explosive.
Starting point is 00:01:00 the only word to describe what's in the news today, what you're going to hear on the show today. You're watching The Young Turks. I'm your host, Anna Kasparian. Explosive. Lots to get to, including the ongoing unrest in Los Angeles, which has now spread to other parts of the country, including New York. So we'll get into a little on what the Department of Homeland Security has been up to, how protesters and then rioters in Los Angeles responded, and how how things have only escalated from there with the National Guard being called, you know, into essentially deal with some of these issues stemming from riots. And now there are some worries that Marines will be sick against American citizens. So we'll get to all of that
Starting point is 00:01:48 in the first story today. But I want to give you a little preview of the rest of the show. I went on Pierce Morgan's program today. And well, let's just say I don't think I have the right to tell Jank to calm down ever again because I went ham and you'll see what I'm talking about in just a little bit. We're also going to talk about the latest in the ongoing spat between President Donald Trump and his former buddy Elon Musk. It looks like Elon Musk kind of wants this conflict to go away, but Trump's not dropping it. And to be honest with you, I don't blame him given what he was accused of by Musk. We're also going to talk a little bit about Tim Dylan, who's just in my opinion on fire. He's currently hosting one of my favorite podcasts in the country. And that's
Starting point is 00:02:35 because he keeps it real. I don't agree with everything he says. But lately, I've been agreeing with a lot of what he has to say. He talks about Palantir. He talks about how he can't be bought by individuals who have tried to buy him. I can't wait to share that story with you. One of my favorite stories of the day. And then we'll talk a little bit about work life balance and how one TikToker who's basically saying that if you want to succeed, you need to throw work-life balance out the windows, getting a lot of backlash. So we'll weigh in on that in the second hour when Wozni Lombray joins me. So don't miss that. As always, just want to encourage you to like and share the stream if you're watching us live after the live show. If you
Starting point is 00:03:13 want to drop into the Pierce Morgan YouTube channel, give me a little shout out on the interview slash debate that I engaged in. I'm not going to say, no, don't do it. I might say you should definitely do that, but wait until we wrap up the show today. All right, without further ado, Let's get to the big story of the day. After protesters against federal immigration rates clash with law enforcement over the weekend, setting vehicles on fire. California National Guard troops were moved in at the order of President Trump. This is the first time since 1965 that a president has ordered troops in over the objections of the governor. This is a manufactured crisis.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Multiple vehicles set on fire covered in graffiti condemning ice. An electric scooter thrown from an overpass. damaging the highway patrol vehicle, which was then set on fire. Many hundreds descending on the 101 freeway blocking traffic in both directions. Ice raids of local small businesses in Los Angeles has unfortunately led to growing unrest in the city, with protests unfortunately escalating to riots over the last several days. And now we're also learning that more than 500 Marines active duty. Marines are being mobilized to respond to the riots in Los Angeles.
Starting point is 00:04:34 So this is according to ABC News. This was reported today. The Marines are from the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines at 29 Palms, California, whom U.S. Northern Command has said Sunday were on a prepared to deploy status if the Defense Department needed them. And I just want to understand what exactly the Trump administration thinks the Marines are supposed to do against American citizens. These are individuals in the military who are trained to kill. Like that is their role in the military. And so I understand the concerns. No one understands the concerns better than I do when it has to do with the rioters, when it pertains to riots. And honestly, I'm incredibly frustrated by how how things have unfolded in the situation. But the idea that we should use
Starting point is 00:05:28 the Marines against Americans is unhinged. And something tells me that Trump supporters would feel the same way if we had a Democratic president or a Democratic administration threatening to do the same against Republican voters or Trump supporters as they engage in, you know, civil unrest. So with that in mind, let's go back to the beginning and talk a little bit about how this all started, what's going on, how it unfolded. Now, the Marines are expected to arrive over the next 24 hours. Hopefully, the worst that I have in my mind right now doesn't come to fruition. But literally minutes before the Marines deployment was confirmed, Donald Trump was asked if he plans on sending Marines to L.A. And he said, we'll see what happened.
Starting point is 00:06:18 And look, as I give you more details about this entire situation, I just want you guys to know one thing that I know without a shadow of a doubt. Trump wants this fight. Because the one area in which he is still popular, still popular, is his immigration policies. And so for anyone on the left who thinks, oh, this is good optics for us, it's not. And I want to explain why. I want to explain how you can fight back against mothers being ripped away from their kids. You can fight back against Home Depot day laborers, day laborers waiting outside in Home Depot parking lots, okay, getting arrested. You can speak out against that and effectively strategize in a way that helps people see what's going on. But that's not what's happening right now. So let's talk a little bit about how this all started. So these protests began on Friday night following reports
Starting point is 00:07:21 indicating that ICE agents were targeting undocumented immigrants in various raids. Now one was in the downtown Los Angeles fashion district. There was a dress shop that allegedly had undocumented immigrants working in it. The Department of Homeland Security is accusing them of using fraudulent documents. Obviously all of that would need to. to be proven, right? But I mean, including their immigration status. But obviously that led to a lot of rage among Angelinos. Why would that happen?
Starting point is 00:07:55 Even if they are undocumented, because we're talking about a small business. We're talking about people who, you know, the assumption is haven't committed any dangerous or violent crimes outside of allegedly being in the country illegally. On the same day, we started hearing reports about day laborers waiting outside of Home Depot parking lots, waiting for work. opportunities, essentially getting rounded up by ICE, which I will say is one of the laziest and most pathetic ways at targeting undocumented immigrants in this country. Look, if we, and we do, we have millions of people with undocumented status in the United States, some of whom are actually committing crimes. I know lefties want to pretend like that doesn't exist. It does exist. So I have no problem with ICE targeting those individuals. And to be sure, some of the people that
Starting point is 00:08:44 that got arrested by ICE in Los Angeles over this weekend had been convicted of some pretty heinous crimes, but not all of them. And Tom Holman, the borders are made abundantly clear, yeah, yeah, there were definitely people who got arrested for deportation who hadn't committed any other crime other than being in the country without documented status. They're in the country illegally. Okay. So this all kind of began on Friday. Things started to escalate on Friday night, Although on Friday night, for the most part, with a few exceptions, things were under control, right? There were definitely some wreckers. There were definitely some people looking to cause problems. But on Friday night, there was no indication that things had kind of gotten so out of control that we would need the federal government to send in the National Guard to handle it.
Starting point is 00:09:34 So now, again, I did release the names of some of the people that they've arrested. And they detailed the crimes that they've committed. And so there's that. But remember, they've arrested dozens of people over the weekend. So when you're releasing the names of like six, seven, eight people that you arrested and there's proof or indication that they've committed other violent crimes, that's fine. But what about the dozens of other people you arrested? And does it really make sense for us to use up resources in arresting day laborers at a Home Depot parking lot?
Starting point is 00:10:12 So I'll give you, I'll give you some of the names. I want to be honest and fair, right? Some of the people who are arrested have committed some terrible crimes. There's one individual who's a citizen of Vietnam. His name is Chung Fawn, 49. A federal officials say he has a criminal history that includes a second degree murder conviction that carried a sentence of 15 years to life. So, I mean, I would prefer for him to serve his full sentence and then get deported. It's unclear whether that has happened. You have Rolando. Enrique, a citizen of the Philippines, has a criminal history that includes convictions for theft, assault, burglary, and rape, according to the Department of Homeland Security. So these guys, I've gotten a love for, I don't care. I know, I know. I'm supposed to care about all of these undocumented immigrants as if they're all the same. No, they're not all the same.
Starting point is 00:10:59 And I want to be clear about that. Now, since the Department of Homeland Security did not provide any incriminating information about the dozens of others who got arrested, I'm just going to assume that they were just here with undocumented status, and that gave them enough reason to round them up. And that has really upset Angelinos. Why would it upset Angelinos? Because immigrants, and yes, undocumented immigrants, make up a significant portion of the population in L.A. And you want to know something? The vast majority of them are actually contributing to L.A., making L.A. a wonderful place, Not a bad place.
Starting point is 00:11:36 And the fact that Trump is hyper-focused on Los Angeles, which, yes, is a sanctuary city, is because he wants to have this fight. He wants this to be the big distraction from what is a disastrous budget bill that will add trillions of dollars to our deficit. And he wants to lean into the one area where he still enjoys some favorability, some popularity. So things started to really get unhinged in LA after Trump announced that he would be sending 2,000 National Guard troops to handle the riots. Now at that point, there was no indication that we needed national guard troops. First of all, let me just remind you all that during the 2020 riots that took place in the
Starting point is 00:12:38 summer of 2020, the then mayor, Eric Garcetti, did request national guard troops because our local law enforcement was unable to handle the sheer volume of rioters. So he requested the help of 1,000 national guard troops. And remember, the summer of 2020, the riots that took place in that summer, were far more widespread, we're talking about, look, there were obviously like peaceful protesters. I don't want to conflate them with the rioters, but the riots weren't just isolated in one or two parts of L.A. They were all over the place. They were in the San Fernando Valley. They were downtown L.A. everywhere you went, there was looting, rioting, and it was hard to get a handle on
Starting point is 00:13:24 things. L.A. is a sprawling city. It's huge. And so if you're watching these, videos online, you might get the impression that there's rioting happening everywhere. The entire city is dealing with riots. That's not true. It is limited to isolated parts. However, these riots have grown. And last night was probably the worst of it. This continues to grow. I wouldn't be surprised if it does continue to get worse. And to be sure, LAPD chief Jim McDonald did weigh in on the violence and how the department is pretty much unable to to deal with it. Take a look. This violence that I've seen is disgusting. It's escalated now since the beginning of this
Starting point is 00:14:08 incident. What we saw the first night was bad. What we've seen subsequent to that is getting increasingly worse and more violent. Tonight we had individuals out there shooting commercial grade fireworks at our officers. That can kill you. And we have adapted our tactics to be able to have a chance to be able to take these people into custody and to be able to hold them accountable. We are overwhelmed as far as the number of people out there engaged in this type of activity and the type of things that they're doing, they'll take backpacks and the backpack will have a cinder block in it. They have a hammer and they'll break up the cinder block and use that, pass it around to throw at officers, to throw at cars and throw at other people.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Look, there's an abundance of evidence to prove what the police chief is saying there, but clearly as these riots have grown, it's become more difficult for the police department to maintain order. And that's what he's trying to talk about there. But I want to reinforce what he's saying in regard to the violent acts by showing you this video. This was when the protesters, or I shouldn't say protesters at this point, rioters had taken control of the 101 freeway near downtown Los Angeles. And you'll see exactly what talking about. Get down! Get down! Oh! Oh! Oh, my God. Oh.
Starting point is 00:15:35 So rocks, bricks, in that video that I just showed you, a police officer gets hit in the head with either a rock or a crushed-up cinder block that was thrown by someone on the freeway overpass. Real classy. So they're playing rock. into what the Trump administration wants.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Let me be clear about that. So when these riots grow in size and scope, and you have a situation in which the police chief says, we can't get a handle on this, we're overwhelmed. That's going to, in the minds of many Americans across the country, and certainly the Trump administration, justify sending National Guard troops. Now, so far, the National Guard troops have been focused on
Starting point is 00:16:22 protecting federal agents from DHS and ICE as they carry out these raids, but also protecting federal buildings that were vandalized and targeted by some of these rioters on the first two nights of these riots. But what's really interesting is that while the police chief says that the police department is overwhelmed, and that doesn't surprise me, the police department has been dealing with severe staffing shortages for a few years now, you have our mayor's Karen Bass saying something entirely different. Let's take a look at that. Given the point where it has escalated to,
Starting point is 00:17:00 do you think the National Guard is needed now? No, I don't think the National Guard is needed now. Things in L.A. are calm. I will tell you that I'm saddened by the extent of the vandalism and the form of graffiti all through the downtown area. But it is important for people to know that even in downtown, This is isolated to a few streets. This is not citywide civil unrest taking place in Los Angeles.
Starting point is 00:17:30 So she's right that this is not citywide civil unrest. It is, at least for now, you know, isolated in a few parts of L.A. City. And by the way, Paramount California, which is part of L.A. County is not considered part of L.A. City. So that area is not an area that Karen Bass has jurisdiction over. But nonetheless, what she said at the very tail end of that is correct. However, I will also say that current leadership in Los Angeles City, and I mean the City Council and yes, Mayor Karen Bass, is terrible. And typically they don't have a handle on anything at all.
Starting point is 00:18:09 We've been having street takeovers for, I don't know, several years now. and they've been unable to control it. The police department has been unable to control it. So the idea that the police department is going to be able to handle growing riots in the city without any help at all is a little ridiculous to me. And I'm just keeping it real. Now, if the rioters are concerned about the feds coming in, I don't know, maybe I would reconsider rioting.
Starting point is 00:18:38 But the rioters should not be conflated with the protesters, the demonstrators, the people who want to peacefully assemble and speak out against what ICE is doing. Those people need to be protected. But unfortunately, those are also the very people who end up getting conflated with the wreckers who I would venture to say don't give a damn about deportations. Okay, these are, I live in the city. These are the same people who love the chaos and have been engaging in chaos endlessly since 2020.
Starting point is 00:19:07 They love it. Any excuse to burn cars, light them on fire, any excuse to do street. takeovers and do donuts, any excuse to hurl rocks at police officers. And you want to know what happens? The more that grows, the more justification the Trump administration has to send in federal agents and, you know, National Guard troops. I do not think there's ever any legitimate reason to use the American military against American people. But that's, that appears to be what the Trump administration is poised to do. And I find that disgusting. Now, I want to also just briefly comment on what we've seen in regard to police conduct, because some of their conduct has been
Starting point is 00:19:47 just unacceptable, illegal, disgusting. I'll give you a specific example involving an Australian journalist. There's video of a police officer very intentionally shooting a rubber bullet at an Australian journalist who is doing nothing wrong. If you don't believe me, take a look at this. Are you going to cry? I'm good. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. I want to show you some still frames so you can see what I'm talking about here. I know that was a quick video. So if you look at the police officer, he's at the very edge on the left-hand side of the photo. That's the one who shoots at her. Let's go to the next image. There you go.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Then you see him shooting at her. What's the justification for shooting at an Australian journalist? an Australian journalist who's literally doing nothing wrong. She's doing her job. She's reporting on the scene. So when you see those types of acts, that kind of brutality carried out by these officers and nothing ends up happening consequence-wise, that's what leads to distrust and disdain toward local policing. And I would like justice to be brought. I would like something to be done about these cops because if you don't have trust in the police force, you don't have a well-functioning city or society. And that's what we've been dealing with in L.A.

Starting point is 00:22:20 Colgate Total Active Prevention System now at walmart.ca. Police Department, they've been dealing with shortages. And on top of that, on top of the staffing shortages, the city of L.A. just passed their latest budget, which cuts the funding for the police department further, which is going to be a problem. So a key provision of the spending plan is expected to reduce sworn hiring in the LAPD to 240 recruits in six classes of 40, down from Bass's proposed 480 recruits in 12 classes of 40. So that's been the plan at a time. when we're already dealing with staffing shortages, and you also have the police department saying that they're overwhelmed and they can't deal with riots. Recipe for utter disaster.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Now let's move on to Gavin Newsom, who made clear that he intends to sue the Trump administration over its deployment of the National Guard. And he says that this is exactly what Trump wanted. That's correct. This is what he wanted. Congratulations. He flamed the fires and illegally act as to federalize the National Guard. I don't know if that's actually true. Now, The order has, he signed, doesn't just apply to California. It will allow him to go into any state to do the same thing. We're suing him. I don't know what grounds Newsom has to sue him.
Starting point is 00:23:53 My understanding is that whether you like it or not, the president of the United States does have the right to federalize the California National Guard and essentially deploy them to protect federal agents and federal buildings, and that's what they've been doing. The real question is, you know, what recourse do Americans or local politicians have, if any, when it comes to sicking Marines against Americans? That's what we really need to get some answers about. But look, Newsom, who's clearly already campaigning for the 2028 presidential campaign, absolutely loves this. I want to be clear about that.
Starting point is 00:24:28 He loves every moment of this. It gives him an opportunity to essentially posture as some sort of savior who's willing to go head to head with Donald Trump. It helps him distract from or helps distract from his failures in California, including the boondoggle high speed rail, which he has failed and getting built, growing homelessness, housing crisis. I mean, California has been a mess under his leadership. And then there was this cringe moment. Take a look. Come after me, arrest me. Let's just get it over with. Tough guy. You know, I don't give a damn. But I care about my community. I care about this community. The hell are they doing? These guys need to grow up. They need to stop. And we need to push back. And I'm sorry to be so clear, but that kind of bloviating is exhausting. So Tom, arrest me. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Yes, bloviating is definitely exhausting, Newsom. And he thinks he's not guilty of it. He's one of the worst perpetrators. And look, he's done very little to do anything to protect Angelinos or Californians. Again, the quality. of life has been diminished under his leadership. So the idea that he's like going to be a great leader for the country is laughable to me. But I need you guys to also understand where the majority of Americans are when it comes to the issue of immigration. Because poll after poll, you have Americans telling everyone what they think about what's going on. And I think Democrats are not being strategic in response to it. So here's what I mean. Let's take a look at Harrington. And his first term, Trump was way, way, way under water at minus 21 points.
Starting point is 00:26:09 But look at this, he's up over 20 points. Now in the aggregate, he is in positive territory, it plus one point on his net approval rating. Some other polls even have it a little bit higher than that. There is no issue on which Trump is doing so much better than he was in his first term more than the issue of immigration. No wonder the Times has written up the way that he is. Trump is begging for a fight on this because he knows what he's doing. so far is working with the American electorate.
Starting point is 00:26:36 The American electorate believed that the Democrats don't have a clue on the issue of immigration. I mean, you could just take it here. Closer to Trustmore in Immigration, Democrats versus Republicans, got three different polls for you across the board. They all tell the same story. Republicans lead on the issue of immigration. Well, what about the tactic that is currently being deployed by the Trump administration, where they go into specific towns and cities to do these deportation operations.
Starting point is 00:27:05 I'm sure the majority of Americans don't find that popular, right? I don't know. Let's find out. Why are people approving of Trump on immigration, approve of these different immigration actions, while Trump's administration's program to deport those here illegally? Look at this. 54% approval. How about agents searching your hometown for those that they think are here illegally? Again, positive territory here, above 50% for Donald Trump. So it's not just on the broad issue of immigration where Trump is doing well.
Starting point is 00:27:33 It's on the specifics. When you dive into the issues, Trump is above 50% and his actions are above 50%, at least with those most directly connected to what's going on right now out in Los Angeles. So let me ask you guys something. If the response to what Trump is doing is rioting in the streets, flying foreign flags, burning the American flag, I'm just, look, I just want people to think this through. How exactly do you get the American people on your side when it comes to immigration policy? See, rather than rioting, I would think strategically about how to use all the videos that exist of mothers being arrested before they can even pick their kids up from school. They're getting arrested and deported.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Their kids are in school. They're begging to at least be able to talk to their kids before being detained. But they won't let that happen. Those videos are heartbreaking. You lose the argument when you start engaging in violence and when you destroy cities, when you light things on fire, you lose the argument. That's it. People are sick of it.
Starting point is 00:28:51 The scale of riots that we're seeing right now at least, don't even come close to the scale of rights that we saw in the summer of 20, But the riots in the summer of 2020 have left a really bad taste in people's mouths. So when they see that go down on the streets of Los Angeles, and as this now appears to be spreading to other parts of the country, you're going to lose the argument more. It's really important to not provide cover for people who are rioting. They're not accomplishing anything. All they're doing is destroying a city that's already dealing with a $1 billion budget deficit
Starting point is 00:29:28 it and will experience deep cuts to social services as a result. Now, more of the money is going to go toward fixing all the things that have been vandalized. It's just dumb. It doesn't accomplish anything. And all the people that we want to prevent from being deported will be deported with far more favorability toward the Trump administration and doing it. It's just dumb. I can't stand it.
Starting point is 00:29:51 I want to give a big shout out to the peaceful protesters because they're always the ones who get shafted in situations like this. And so do the people who have been in this country for decades. Sure, they might be undocumented, mostly because we have a broken immigration system that our Congress refuses to do a damn thing about, refuses to provide a pathway to citizenship for these folks. But they've been in the country for decades. They haven't caused any harm.
Starting point is 00:30:19 They work. They contribute to society. And they're the ones who are going to get shafted in this situation as well. It's frustrating. And honestly, if I were to sum up how I feel about everything that's going on right now in L.A., I would just say, with the exception of the peaceful protesters, I just hate everybody. Let's take a break. We'll be right back. All right, everyone, I'm getting a lot of comments about my Pierce Morgan appearance today. I'm going to read just one comment in our super chats from History Speaks who says Emily Schrader was lying about the massacres of starving Ghazans.
Starting point is 00:31:14 I have a dear friend in Gaza, literally yesterday her 15-year-old cousin was shot in the head by the IDF. I just, look, history speaks, I literally can't handle. I can't handle the atrocities anymore. which is why I absolutely lost it on Peers Morgan show today. Part of me feels like I should be embarrassed by my behavior. But no, no, the people who are justifying the atrocities carried out by the IDF, they should be ashamed of themselves. And they are disgusting. They are disgusting.
Starting point is 00:31:47 And you'll know what I mean when I say disgusting when we cover my appearance in just a minute. But first, I want to actually talk about the flotilla that was intercepted by Israeli forces, then we'll get to the Pierce-Morgan segment. So without further ado, let's get into it. Calm down, everyone. Everybody's going to be all right. My name is Grytha Thunberg and I am from Sweden. If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces or forces that support Israel. I urge all my friends. family and comrades to put pressure on the Swedish government to release me and the others as soon as possible. The Israeli defense forces have intercepted the flotilla carrying Greta Toonberg and other activists who wanted to symbolically send or deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in Gaza.
Starting point is 00:32:53 I say symbolically because clearly they didn't have nearly enough humanitarian aid to provide adequate assistance. But they wanted to send a message about the ongoing blockade of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Now, luckily, no one was harmed by the IDF, which isn't something that I get to say on this show often. So I guess that's a bit of a win. But the aid mission was organized by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition or FFC. The group has been trying to end Israeli occupation and the blockade in Gaza since 2010. Now, 12 passengers, including Tunberg and French lawmaker Rima Hassan, were on board the ship. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition said the Israeli military had attacked and unlawfully boarded the Madeline,
Starting point is 00:33:42 which is the name of the ship, which was attempting to deliver aid to Gaza, where more than 600 days of war and an 11-week Israeli blockade of all aid has pushed the enclaves 2.1 million people deeper into a hunger crisis. Now, people might argue, well, what blockade? I mean, Israel lifted the blockade. You now have the Gaza humanitarian foundation in Israeli and U.S.-backed organization that's delivering humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. They're luring hungry Palestinians to these humanitarian aid hubs and then shooting them, killing them, upward of 200 Palestinians have been shot and killed as they are desperately trying to get food to feed their families, to feed their starving children. Okay, so don't come at me with that BS organization that I think is just a way to like bait people to a specific place so they can be shot and killed.
Starting point is 00:34:41 That's what I think. That's what's happening. We'll get back to that in just a minute. Now last month, the world's top authority on food crisis warned a famine unless aid is allowed to enter the country. One in five Palestinians are on the brink of starvation. And Israel has since allowed some aid to enter the country, but not nearly enough, which will again get back to in just a moment. But according to a statement released by the FFC, the group was carrying baby formula, food and medical supplies, all of which were taken by the IDF, confiscated.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Now, according to the FFC, the Malin came under assault in international waters, and those on board were unlawfully detained. Now, look, I want to be clear. The ship was definitely intercepted by the IDF. They were not allowed to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. I think that was the point, right? I mean, this was meant to send a message about how far the IDF is willing to go, how far the Israeli government is willing to go to prevent the flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip,
Starting point is 00:35:44 unless it's being delivered by that Israeli and U.S.-backed organization that has been a complete and utter disaster for the Palestinians so far. Now, Adala, a rights group in Israel that said it was representing the activists, said Israel had no legal authority to take over the ship because it was in international waters and because it was headed not to Israel, but to the territorial waters of the state of Palestine, a state that Israel, of course, does not recognize. They have not allowed the Palestinian people to engage in self-determination or to create their own state. In fact, the Israeli government is currently in the process of annexing the West Bank, which was not governed by Hamas and had nothing to do with October the 7th. But October 7th was what Israel
Starting point is 00:36:34 decided to exploit as their justification for the slaughter, persecution. of Palestinian people and, of course, the theft of their land, not just in Gaza, but also in the West Bank. Now, the FFC stated that quadcopters are surrounding the ship, spraying it with a white paint-like substance. Communications are jammed and disturbing sounds are being played over the radio, which, by the way, can be seen in a live-streamed video that was put out by the group. Take a look. Right now, they're jamming our combs. They're saying random stuff just to jam our communication. Okay, they're dropping chemicals on us.
Starting point is 00:37:20 We don't know what it is. Look at this. Look at this. Okay, everyone take cover, please. Okay, everyone take cover, please. Take cover. Incredible. I mean, look, there was a non-zero chance that they would
Starting point is 00:37:38 that they would come up against IDF fire. And I'm just, I'm so relieved that that didn't happen. But treating this flotilla that's just attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to the starving people of Gaza is just so sick in so many different ways. And that was the point. I don't think anyone on that ship was under the illusion that they were going to effectively end the blockade and be able to feed every single starving Palestinians. They wanted to do something symbolic to show the world how far the IDF is willing to go to stop the flow of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
Starting point is 00:38:17 Now, Israel's been against this organization from the jump, as you all know, Israel's defense minister, Israel Katz, said on Sunday that I have instructed the IDF to ensure that the Madeline Flotilla does not reach Gaza. And his wish was granted by the IDF, of course. and Freedom Flotilla Coalition claims that they did come under fire by an Israeli drone attack off the coast of Malta last month. However, I want to be clear they have not provided evidence of that drone attack or that that drone was an Israeli drone. Israeli military, by the way, has refused to comment on it, which I find very suspicious. And honestly, that lends a little bit of credibility to what's being claimed about the drone attack. But again, I would need to see some evidence of that before saying that it's true. Now, according to Madeline's seizure, Israel is essentially downplaying the entire situation,
Starting point is 00:39:11 making themselves out to be the good guys. They're spreading photos where they're giving the activist sandwiches. But so far upward, again, of 200 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli bullets as they desperately try to get food to feed their families from the Gaza. humanitarian foundation hubs. Now again, these hubs are backed by Israel in the United States, and people are getting shot and killed as they're desperately trying to obtain food. Let's take a look at one example. That's the unmistakable sound of automatic gunfire. As crowds of Palestinians, some carrying food, some still hoping to get, scatter from an aid hub in central Gaza. The Israeli military says,
Starting point is 00:40:01 It was firing warning shots, but a father of five lies dead. They said Khalid was shot in the head by a sniper. He wasn't armed. They lie to people and tell them there is aid and then kill them. They are liars. And while these atrocities are ongoing in the Gaza Strip at the hands of the Israeli defense forces, as this has been going on for well over a year and a half. Israel Katz, the defense minister of Israel, of course, wants to basically punish the activists on that flotilla by brainwashing them, propagandizing them with the atrocities that were committed by Hamas.
Starting point is 00:40:44 What about the atrocities you guys are committing? Anyway, Katz announced on X Monday that he had ordered the Israeli defense forces to show the intercepted group the atrocities committed against women, the elderly, and children at the hands of Hamas on October. And by the way, I think it's totally fine to acknowledge those atrocities. Those were atrocities. Innocent people were slaughtered on October 7th. There's no justification for that ever. But since then, similar atrocities have been playing out by the IDF in the Gaza Strip, by settlers in the West Bank. Can they watch videos about that? Are we just going to pretend like the human beings? of the Palestinian people doesn't matter. And we can just
Starting point is 00:41:32 treat them like animals. Watch them get slaughtered and not give a damn about it. He also added, anti-Semitic Greta and her Hamas supporting friends should see exactly what the Hamas terrorist organization, which they
Starting point is 00:41:49 came to support and act on behalf of truly is. I think they see you and the current Israeli government and the idea for what they truly are. absolutely heinous supporters of ethnic cleansing and genocide. And that's probably what motivated someone like Greta Toonberg to honestly risk her life to be on that flotilla to begin with. That's the reality of the situation.
Starting point is 00:42:14 We're going to take a break. When we come back, I'm going to show you all how disgusting I think Emily Schrader is. We'll be right back. I'm just going to read one comment before we get to our next story. And it's from Stinky, stinky feet who says, Anna, I saw the Pierce Morgan appearance. TYT needs merch made that says, you're a vile person. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:54 I mean, if you guys are interested in buying that, then God bless go forward to ShopTYT, but let me tell you what sparked that comment from Stinky Stinky Feet because I did go on Pierce Morgan show today. And I think I've kind of reached the point where I'm so sick of the pro-IDF, pro-Israeli-government propaganda, I just can't stomach it. And yeah, I lost it. Take a look. You're disgusting.
Starting point is 00:43:24 You're disgusting. You've confirmed it was Hamas. They confirmed it was from us. And the only thing disgusting is no humanity. No humanity. None. And blaming the IDF. I can't even handle the voice.
Starting point is 00:43:35 It's the one who is assuring that there's humanitarian aid. I'm an Armenian. I know genocide when I see it. You are a defender of genocide. I had a pretty uneventful morning, went on Pierce Morgan's show today. And Emily Schrader, who I believe is a propagandist on behalf of the Israeli. government triggered me. I have no problem admitting that. Because at this point, after now more than a year and a half of watching Palestinian civilians get bombed to death, starved to death,
Starting point is 00:44:09 shelled to death, I literally cannot handle hearing another Israel defender lie to my face about what's really going on. Emily Schrader falls in that category of Israeli propagandist, liars who provide cover for atrocities, who provide cover for ethnic cleansing, who provide cover for genocide. And so yeah, I got a little heated to say the least. So she's allegedly a journalist. Earlier in the debate, she got challenged on the definition of a ceasefire. Let's take a quick look at that. It is Hamas that has rejected repeated ceasefires. A pause in fighting. A pause in fighting is not a ceasefire. A pause in fighting is not a ceasefire. I'm so sick of the rebranding of a ceasefire, a two-month pause in war is not a ceasefire, period, end of
Starting point is 00:44:59 story. Go ahead, Omar. Then Hamas is welcome. Hamas is welcome to release all of the hostages. I said what I said. If you release all of the hostages, then we can talk about it. This idea that you release, and as soon as the hostages are released, Israel will continue. Their genocide is unacceptable, unacceptable. But anyway, continue. You know what else is unacceptable? The fact that there are more than 50 hostages being held by Hamas for more than 600 days. I fully stand by my statement regarding Emily Schrader being a vile individual. It is atrocious that you still have Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip. Those hostages haven't been released.
Starting point is 00:45:43 They should be released. But let's just talk about this notion of a ceasefire that only lasts long enough for Hamas to release the hostages. And then Israel gets to continue the atrocities they've been carrying out in the Gaza Strip. And also, by the way, the West Bank, let's not forget about the West Bank, which was not governed by Hamas, which has been dealing with the occupation of the Israelis and has dealt with settlers coming in, driving Palestinians out of their legal homes. You guys get the picture. I've talked about this a billion times before. Hamas has agreed to give up governing the Gaza Strip. They have agreed to releasing the remainder of the hostages. All they want is a permanent ceasefire.
Starting point is 00:46:34 But Israel doesn't want a permanent ceasefire. Israel wants to steal that land. They want to push out every single Palestinian that survived this war and take over. They want to build settlements. They announce they're going to be building two illegal settlements in the West Bank. They want the land. This is the greater Israel project, folks. I mean, they tell you what they want to do.
Starting point is 00:47:01 On one hand, you have the Israeli government straight up telling you what they intend to do. And then for whatever reason, clowns like Emily Schrader go on various American news programs to tell us that we didn't just hear what the Israeli government told us and we're not seeing what our own eyes are seeing in the Gaza Strip in the West Bank. A ceasefire means the war ends. Israel doesn't want the war to end. And eventually when they do get what they want, because I think every indication tells me that they're going to get what they want. They're going to take over Gaza. They're going to take over the West Bank. They've tried to annex parts of Lebanon. That didn't work. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to do that in the future. They have annexed parts of Syria.
Starting point is 00:47:46 already. Greater Israel Project. We all know what this is. I mean, anyone who's paying attention knows what this is. But Emily Schrader thinks I'm an idiot. Emily Schrader thinks it's fun to insult my intelligence. I don't appreciate having my intelligence insulted, okay? Because I don't fall for propagandists and scummy individuals like Emily Schrader. There's more. So Schrader also got challenged on a talking point that she made about a year earlier. She was on Pierce Morgan show with Abby Martin, who's excellent on this topic, on this issue. And she made a declaration about what Israel intends to do and what they will not do. And she was wrong about that. So I challenged her. Let's take a look. You were on this very show a year ago debating
Starting point is 00:48:33 Abby Martin. And you said, you fancy yourself a journalist. During that debate, you said that Israel has no interest in occupying Gaza. Israel is now very obviously and overtly claiming they intend to occupy Gaza, can you now admit to the world that you are incorrect? No, the situation on the ground changes. And beyond that, this could have been avoided in the first place. You're vile. You're a vile person. She's a vile person, straight up. Like, the inability, first of all, the initial lie, let's just call that for what it was. It was a lie. And then the inability to acknowledge reality. Okay, I knew everyone who's paying attention knew that Israel intended to ethnically cleanse
Starting point is 00:49:23 Gaza and occupy the God, I mean, just take over the Gaza Strip. Everyone knew, everyone who's paying attention who's honest about what they're reading, what they're seeing, they knew. Abby Martin brings it up, calls her out on it, and she says, no, Israel has no interest in occupying Gaza. And then when she gets called out on it, called out on that lie a year later, unable to take responsibility. That's a journalist. That's a journalist. It's incredible. Total and utter clown. So another pro is real voice on the panel was Shabos Kestenbaum. And look, I disagree with Shabos entirely.
Starting point is 00:50:04 He seems less loathsome than Emily Schrader. He tried to have a calm. conversation. I was too heated and I regret that because I could have had an exchange with him that wasn't as heated as it was. He was trying to lower the temperature and make the arguments he was making. I disagree with his arguments. So I want to just kind of get that out of the way. With that in mind, at one point he stated that everyone who cares about Palestinian should be supporting the newly implemented Gaza humanitarian foundation or fund. And here's what happened next. IDF soldiers are intentionally shooting at and killing desperate Palestinians as they're trying to get humanitarian aid from this Israeli-backed organization, which of course is able to even
Starting point is 00:50:53 exist because they defamed UNRWA. They starved Palestinians for months. Shut up. They starved Palestinians for months. And then as the Palestinians are desperate for food, they lure them in with this Gaza humanitarian foundation and shoot at them. Upward of 200 people since late May have been shot at and killed by Israeli soldiers. And that's true. You know, there was also, I mentioned this in the context of this Pierce Morgan debate. I mentioned the slaughter of journalists in the Gaza Strip, 232. And that's not according to the, you know, Palestinian health ministry or anything.
Starting point is 00:51:35 anything like that. That's according to an analysis done by the cost of war project at Brown University, 232 journalists killed. They're not allowing international journalists to enter the Gaza Strip, likely because Israel thinks that they can maybe hide their atrocities from the international community. We've been able to see what's been going on in the Gaza Strip from the very beginning, though. And this is why the international community went from how to having quite a bit of goodwill toward the Israelis to now wanting to prosecute them, the members of the Israeli government in the international criminal court. You can't on one hand, and this is very important for any Israeli defenders out there,
Starting point is 00:52:22 this is very important. You cannot make a succinct argument about Hamas carrying out atrocities. when the IDF is doing the same thing and you think it's okay. Because if you say it's okay when it's being done to Palestinians, you're providing justification for Hamas doing it to Israelis. Because guess what? Humans are humans, civilians are civilians, and they must be protected. When you come out here and you make clear that you're supportive of civilians on one side,
Starting point is 00:52:56 but you think of civilians as utter animals that should be slaughtered on the other side, You lose the argument. You lose the international community. It's that simple. And that's the thing that disgust me about this whole situation. What disgusts me about people like Emily Schrader, the lack of humanity, the lack of being able to look at Palestinian children and be disgusted with what the IDF is doing right now. I don't understand. I literally don't understand it.
Starting point is 00:53:25 It boggles my mind. Absolutely boggles my mind. We'll end with one more clip. I want to thank Pierce Morgan for giving me the last word on the panel, and I did switch topics a little bit. It's related, but it's a little bit of a different topic, important for everyone to know about. Let's take a look. I just want to mention quickly that Emily is one of these Israelis who's going around doing propaganda tours on manufacturing consent for the United States to go to war with Iran on behalf of Israel. We can't make the same mistake that we did in Iraq.
Starting point is 00:53:56 We should not go to war in Iran on behalf of Israel. If Israel wants to go to war with Iran, they should do it themselves without our military support, and that includes taxpayer dollars. Go do it on your own. Go ahead and the list, baby girl. Go do your thing. But leave America out of it. Our men and women and our armed forces shouldn't die on behalf of your country, period.
Starting point is 00:54:18 I don't really understand what her argument was there when she's like Iran isn't an Arab country. I didn't say it was an Arab country. And what is that argument? The U.S. should not go to war with Iran on behalf of Israel. Now, Israel has bought our politician, so who knows what the Trump administration is going to decide to do? It will be a disastrous war. It will be a deeply, deeply unpopular war that will define Donald Trump's legacy. I mean, the one thing he cares about the most is himself, so hopefully he's smart enough to understand what an error that would be for his legacy.
Starting point is 00:54:57 But I don't really have much hope with any politician, much less Donald Trump at this point. So we'll see what happens. But I want to be clear, for anyone who thinks my behavior and my conduct on Pierce Morgan's show today was unprofessional and unbecoming, you are correct. And I am not sorry. I would do it again. We'll be right back. I'm going to be. I'm going to be.
Starting point is 00:55:31 B. B. Thank you.
