I'm so upset. Oh my
Starting point is 00:01:16 God. Begah! Hi everybody. Welcome to the Young Turks. My name is Dr. Elliot Morgan filling in today. So thank you to everybody at TYT for having me, but I'm not alone. I'm also with the fantastic and lovely Sharon Reed. Sharon, how was your weekend? It's great. It's great hearing you say doctor as well. I'm just, you know, a regular gal, nothing before my name, but I'm just in all. Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:02:21 You were one of the first ones. You called me doctor way before I actually got the degrees. So it's like you knew somehow. It's really, it's psychic almost, you could say. That's right. That's right. Let's go with that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:31 All right. Well, we have many stories to get into today, folks. So let's dive in. Being an American means something unbreakable. If you kill Americans, if you threaten Americans anywhere on earth, we will hunt you down without apology and without hesitation, and we will kill you. President Trump has also been very consistent. Crazy regimes like Iran, hell bent on prophetic Islamist delusions, cannot have nuclear weapons.
Starting point is 00:03:06 So those comments were made back in March, but Chief Pentagon spokesperson, Sean Parnell, decided to repost it following news that multiple U.S. service members were killed as strikes between Iran and the U.S. continued to escalate. Weird, how war just kind of tends to do that. It also proves once again that at least for this administration, the whole bloodlust thing is just not going to get old anytime soon. Two U.S. service members were killed Friday while defending against an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack in Jordan. And another service member is missing U.S. Central Command said Saturday. Four other American service members were medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan, but have since been discharged, SENTCOM said. Other personnel who were evaluated for minor injuries have returned to duty.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Also, Sentcom did announce that on Sunday they found unidentified remains at the location of the strike. However, they have yet to confirm that those remains actually belong. to the missing soldier. And that's not all. Separately, a US service member in northern Iraq was killed in action July 18th, during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordinance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. A second service member was wounded and continues to receive medical treatment for a minor injury. The service member killed during the disposal of an Iranian drone in Iraq on Saturday, was not a bomb technician, but another soldier who was hit by debris or fragments when the drone was detonated to
Starting point is 00:04:34 according to a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity. So if you are keeping track, that means there have been at least 18 deaths of U.S. service members since the war with Iran began on February 28th. It's also important to note that that number is very likely way too low. Because according to the New York Times, even before Friday's strike in Jordan, Iran launched three other attacks that week, injuring dozens of troops and damaging U.S. helicopters. So of course, the U.S. government responded the only way the U.S. government knows how to respond, which is just more strikes. Sancom said U.S. forces struck Iranian military surveillance and air defense facilities, maritime assets, and missile and drone storage sites.
Starting point is 00:05:17 The International Atomic Energy Agency said on Sunday that it was investigating reports of an overnight attack on the construction site of Iran's planned Darcoven nuclear power plant. But the strikes actually go well beyond what they were actually intended to target, with Iranian civilians noting that roads and other civilian infrastructure are getting absolutely destroyed. At a time when temperatures are running over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, residents are dealing with daily power cuts and water outages every other day, res of a 50-year-old retiree in Bushard province said, much of the world is so immersed in their own lives, he said, that the destruction happening in Iran no longer seems important to them. It also doesn't seem like anything is going to be slowing down anytime soon, if anything. Things are very likely to escalate.
Starting point is 00:06:05 In a truth social post this morning, Trump issued a very serious warning to Iran. He wrote, every time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay for that killing many times over. This directive has been passed on to Secretary of War Pete Hegeset, Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staffs, Daniel Kane, and every leader in the military president, Donald J. Trump. Now, according to the New York Times, the U.S. is all. also preparing to send even more warplains as part of further escalation. Air Force F-16 fighter jets from Germany and stealthy F-35 jets from Britain were being sent to the Middle East, according to officials who were not authorized to publicly discuss operational matters. Additional aerial refueling aircraft were also on the way.
Starting point is 00:06:48 You know, which does kind of bring up a question, like, why would we need to send even more fighter jets if we actually obliterate? the Iranian military. Interesting. And it does seem that not only are, we're not the only ones asking that question, because even Maria Bartaromo seems to be a little bit confused. You know, Centcom says that there will be outsized action in retaliation. But I don't understand how it's possible that Iran has the capabilities to fight this way and continue to try to lash out at Gulf countries and U.S. military bases. Because the U.S. has obliterated Iran's military And the president continues to reiterate that. Yes.
Starting point is 00:07:31 And if you look at the numbers of missiles that they've been able to fire off from the beginning of this war, you know, late February, early March. And what they're able to do now, it's, it is very seriously degraded. They've gone from over 100 a day to less than 10, if even that. There's been a number of days where they haven't fired off anything. And they haven't targeted Israel for, for months now. So I think their capabilities are lessened, but they're not zero. And that's the important thing. They are a nuisance.
Starting point is 00:08:01 They're going after their regional neighbors. And that in a way, though, can also in the long term be a benefit for us, Maria, because this unites the entire region behind the United States and with Israel. That would have been impossible 10 years ago. Now it's actually happening in real time. Yeah, so it might be degraded, but Iran's military is still going strong. And back in May, the New York Times reported that according to classified assessments, Iran has regained access to most of its missile sites, launchers, and underground facilities. Most alarming to some senior officials is evidence that Iran has restored operational access to 30 of the 33 missile sites it maintains along the Strait of Hormuz.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Military intelligence agencies have also reported, based on information from multiple collection streams, including satellite imagery and other surveillance technologies, that Iran has regained access to roughly 90, percent of its underground missile storage and launch facilities nationwide, which are now assessed to be, quote, partially or fully operational, the people's knowledge of the assessment said. So they also have another benefit, which is billions of dollars that they raked in as a result of the June peace deal, which allowed Iran to ship oil out of the country. As part of the June deal, the United States gave Iran two major concessions. It lifted its naval blockade, allowing Iranian ships to move oil out of the country and granted an exemption to U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil sales. When the United States lifted the blockade, Iran rushed some 45 million to 50 million barrels out of the country. Analysts
Starting point is 00:09:33 estimated. The Trump administration revoked that sanctions waiver on July 7th after three tankers were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz. But Iran had already moved quickly to get its ships through the strait and headed toward Asia, which has long had a network of buyers for its illicit oil sales. So meanwhile, our own military is suffering, sadly, an anonymous official who spoke with the Washington Post cautioned that the expansion of U.S. operations will be limited by dwindling stockpiles of air defense and long-range munitions and constraints on the ability to surge more troops and aircraft into the area because of battle damage. Military experts have said that in addition to the toll taken on U.S. equipment and munition stocks, the U.S. is unprepared.
Starting point is 00:10:19 for possible ground operations inside Iran, which also happens to be something that Trump is currently refusing to rule out. We do not have enough to safely sustain operations, and I don't think the White House is aware of that. So, Sharon, I mean, you tell me what you think. This just sounds to me like something that was warned about from the very beginning of this when a bunch of people, especially on the left, said that these wars tend to, all wars tend to begin more, wars and this is just another example of that. And it seems we're losing service members in the process. So what is your take on all this? Well, we are and we're dealing with liars and unskilled war mongers. They wouldn't know how to win if this was winnable. And it doesn't appear that it is
Starting point is 00:11:06 because they have failed to measure the resolve of the Iranians. They just don't get it. There's no nuance. There's no skill. There's no diplomacy. Every time he opens his mouth, Donald Trump lies to us, issues threats that don't seem to do anything. He said this thing about you better not kill American servicemen and women before and now more are dead. And Maria Bartaromo is asking very dippy questions as if she doesn't understand what's going on. And if she doesn't, that's an even larger issue than the one she appears to have.
Starting point is 00:11:44 We're being lied to. It's not obliterated. The straight is shut down whenever they say it's. shut down, men and women are dying. You could send in more ground troops or ground troops, I should say, but it's not really going to matter when the other side knows we got you, baby. It's really ridiculous. Yeah, and I would add to that as well, there is just the idea of imperial blowback. And when you have a policy that says basically you can ship out as much oil as you want, make as much money as you want, our own policy seems to have actually strengthened them.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Because as I understand, the memorandum of understanding was basically us just going, yeah, you guys kind of, you guys win, essentially. And in terms of us being lied to, I think Iran feels that they're also being lied to. And I don't know from a negotiating standpoint exactly how you come back from that. Yeah. And he's also gone back and forth and talked about how he has this regime change. Yeah, maybe you do. And now it's worse, right? Now it's worse. You also killed all those little girls and never really apologize for it. So anybody who over there said, well, I hate this regime and I'd love to. It says we hate you more.
Starting point is 00:12:55 It's there's no upside here. There's no skill. The Pentagon, they're lying to us. You have Pete Higgseth who wants to pump service men and women with, well, some people with more testosterone and none of it matters. None of it matters to the bottom line. We are worse off today and less safe because of these. these holes. Yep, and he just wants to pump the weaklings full of testosterone, I guess. So that'll
Starting point is 00:13:22 solve everything, I think. But we'll see how all this goes down. I mean, this has been incredibly depressing already. And we're going to also revisit that story you just mentioned in a bit. So we will be right back, folks. See you soon. I want to tell you about a new podcast series I'm enjoying from Future Hindsight, Occupy an unfinished uprising. Occupy Wall Street is the story of the improbable becoming possible. In 2008, millions of people were devastated by an economic crash caused by Wall Street greed. But it wasn't until 2011 that there was a mass response from the left. A call to protests went out and thousands of people responded. I know, I was there. They raged against a system that was rigged against them and tried to create their own
Starting point is 00:14:05 anti-capitalist village in a small Manhattan park. The movement quickly spread across the country inspiring hundreds of occupations and a new generation of activists. Occupy. and unfinished uprising is told through the voices of activists who camped out in Zaccati Park for almost two months, getting inside the drama of a movement that grew rapidly, felt both transcendent and chaotic, and then violently flamed out. Occupy changed the national conversation about capitalism, popularized the language of the 99% and inspired a generation of activists. As we approach Occupy's 15th anniversary this September, this series offers a reminder that collective action can reshape what seems possible. To listen, search for future hindsight wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back, folks.
Starting point is 00:15:53 This is my first time reading comments. I'm really excited. I hope they're all super fun and insightful, and I bet they will be. So art guy says the U.S. government is definitely hiding just how many casualties there are. That's at t.yt.com. And yeah, I think they absolutely are hiding just how many. And even if you, I think, remove any kind of moral idea or like ethical thing, if you just exit that framework and look at it purely from a historical perspective.
Starting point is 00:16:22 If you go back to the early 2000s, which I'm old enough to remember, when the Iraq war was beginning, all of the numbers consistently lagged behind what was reality. Whatever CENTCOM was saying was only like a fraction of what the truth ended up being. And so if that's any indicator, then I think that, yeah, you're absolutely correct. Jank Stricepfury. I'm Streisepfury, and I apologize for butchering. all names, but does Hexeth do a line of Coke before every public appearance? Welcome back to the young Turks, folks. This next story is a continuation of something that happened last week, and it will absolutely make you sad and hopefully potentially infuriated. Let's dive into it. Our recruitment efforts to hire 10,000 new ICE officers has been extremely
Starting point is 00:17:33 successful, Lawrence. As of today, we have over 80,000 applicants for those 10,000 positions already. People and patriots across this country that say we want to join, we want to help and be a part of this effort. It's overwhelming to see the amount of response and support that our ICE officers have gotten and people who want to join their ranks. It was overwhelming, right? And you would think that with 80,000 applicants signing up for 10,000 ice positions, which is the amount of former Homeland Security Secretary Kristy Knoem wanted to fill, surely they vetted these individuals, right? Well, it turns out that if they did, they did an absolutely horrible job of it, seeing as the ICE officer who killed Johann Sebastian Guerrero had a history of both mental illness and violent behavior. Now, if you're not up to date on this story, a span of less than one week, ICE officers shot and killed two innocent men. There's Lorenzo Salgado Arajo in Texas and Johann Sebastian Guerrero in Maine. Salgado Orero, Mexican Nationals, was in the process of getting a work permit after living. in the United States for 35 years. In other words, he was trying to go about the system in the proper way. Guerrero was from Colombia, but was living in the U.S. legally because he had a work
Starting point is 00:18:48 permit. The names of the agents who killed Salgado O'arjo have yet to be made public, but investigation into his death is being launched by the state. That said, the ICE officer, who allegedly killed Guerrero has been identified by his family and his ex-wives as David Broulet. According to an immediate relative and one of his ex-wives, Ashley Brulette, said he was, quote, extremely mentally ill. He was diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder and attention deficit disorder at a young age. He also attempted suicide twice at age 12 and was hospitalized multiple times. As he got older, things only got worse, especially after he was deployed to Afghanistan. Afghanistan destroyed him, trained him to be a killing monster, a machine.
Starting point is 00:19:34 They took someone who was extremely mentally ill and turned him into a killing machine. That's from an immediate relative. David Broulet has a history of terrifying and violent behavior, according to those relatives. They accused him of attacking women in his life over the years, and one shared a voicemail with the AP from last winter in which he told her that he thought someone should slit her throat. And all of you should have your effing throat cut. Yeah, you should. Am I threatening that I'm going to do that?
Starting point is 00:20:03 Nope, nope. but I do think that you should have your effing throats cut or should have had them cut. Yep. Good Lord, what a guy. So he left that voicemail for his ex-wife, Ashley, who divorced David back in 2009 after he became violent with her while she was pregnant with their daughter. According to Ashley Brulette, he once threw boiling water at her while she was holding their child. An incident her mother, Avis Collins, also recounted. The abuse continued after she left him, she said. Also, It doesn't end there. I mean, this guy, incredible. Despite not having an official criminal record,
Starting point is 00:20:39 hundreds of family court records obtained from the August District Court Clerk's Office detail years of allegations of physical and verbal abuse raised by his second ex-wife on behalf of herself and his daughters. The ex-wife, whom the AP is not identifying because she fears retaliation, alleged that he had stalked and harassed her and physically and verbally abused his daughter, according to multiple requests for temporary protection orders. Burlett tack tackled his teenage daughter and smashed spaghetti in her hair. And during another outburst, he dragged his daughter around the house as she cried, she said. This got so bad that in 2019, after she filed a complaint for protection from abuse against him,
Starting point is 00:21:21 he was ordered to quote temporarily relinquish any firearms. But apparently, none of this is that important to the DHS and they still find it within themselves to protect him. The Department of Homeland Security has not publicly identified the shooter, saying only that he has, quote, nearly a decade of federal law enforcement experience with required training, including use of force training. So just to be clear, he was not a newcomer. He'd been doing this for 10 years, and it wasn't the DHS that I deed him. It was his family that did that. Actually, and their 18-year-old daughter told AP that he admitted such to them after they saw video of him after the shooting. I asked him why he did it. He said it was a very. justified shooting. The guy was trying to run him over with a car. He was asking if I could tell them that he was a good person and not to talk about the abuse and stuff that I had endured
Starting point is 00:22:09 while with him. And he said that the most important thing is his character right now. So on that note, real quick, Sharon, can you give just a brief character assessment based on the information we have so far? Psycho. Okay. Okay. Okay. I mean, have you ever heard of references? I mean, if you You want to work at 7-11, which is perfectly honorable, they would probably say, can we just call someone just to make sure, I don't know, just do a little mini check before they allow you to sell a big goal. This guy has a service weapon. He's been deputized as whatever, and now somebody's dead. Only the best people. This isn't it. Look, people have problems. We have to report sometimes
Starting point is 00:22:58 on unfortunate things, mental health crises, trauma, you said, Afghanistan, the service there. All that is not unexpected in the population. People have problems and we're not demonizing them. That's not even what this is about. This is about someone who should have never been in that uniform staring down the public and killing someone. It's insane. Yeah, and on top of the insanity, you also have the insanity of them protecting him and then going, okay, well, he's, I mean, it sounds to me like, hey, basically he's one of the bros, and this is bros protecting bros, basically.
Starting point is 00:23:43 And of course, it's also hard to know what actually happened that day because none of them were wearing body cams. Oh, wait, yes, they were. They just actually weren't turned on at all. So federal officers at the scene of a killing by U.S. immigration and customs enforcement, in Maine were wearing body cameras, according to four ICE officials who reviewed images from the scene, but the cameras are on multi-function devices that ICE officers use as radio mics. Ice officials who spoke to the intercept identified the accessories worn by ICE officers on the
Starting point is 00:24:16 scene of the main shooting as Motorola SVX video remote speaker microphone to wireless radio mic with one other important feature, a camera. Now, because of this contract with AXON, a law enforcement tech firm, ICE agents are only using these devices as mics despite them being designed to also work as body cameras. And since the cameras aren't supposed to work, they just kind of cover the lenses, I guess, just to be safe. So the SVX mics worn by ICE are designed to record internally, capable of storing over 100 hours of standard definition video according to Motorola promotional materials and a technical support line. The video recording function on the SVX mic, however, requires a subscription. So what exactly is stopping ICE from just getting like a subscription, right? You know, they wanted to blame Democrats, right, for blocking this rollout of body cameras,
Starting point is 00:25:09 but they already had body cameras. I also feel like this is maybe a good thing for Democratic leadership to consider that when you're going, oh, let's just give them more body cams, there's a very good chance that they just won't be turned on. But Sharon, what do you make of of this entire horrible situation. Don't give them another dollar. And anybody who gives them one red cent more has to go as well. This is, they're actually have become this like mafiosa organization, this lawless organization who does whatever they want,
Starting point is 00:25:43 hides behind whatever they say, whatever they pivot on that day. I mean, this is insane. Now I have to teach you how to use like the cloud for your body cams or something. Turn them on. It should be, you know, law, it shouldn't be discretionary. And we shouldn't have just anyone who wants to sign up to terrorize the public in uniform. Yeah, it does make me question to what goes through somebody's head when they're trying to do this kind of job. I mean, I see like the memes online of folks being like, oh, this is just a bunch of people who couldn't hack it in the military. They couldn't hack it as police officers.
Starting point is 00:26:20 So now they're doing this. There's kind of a high school bully kind of vibe to it. And I don't know like for those officers or ICE agents who are decent human beings and I assume there are some, I don't know how they handle this stuff. Because this guy's immediately calling his ex and going, well, he was trying to run me over. And I don't know how that plays either because that's just the tried and true excuse that they've been using this entire time. It kind of blows my mind that anybody is still able to deal with it because we only know who this. This guy is due to the fact that his family said who he was. Like they are not being transparent for the supposedly most transparent administration ever.
Starting point is 00:27:00 And where are all of the other shooters, like the one for Alex Peretti and Renee and the gentleman in Dallas. Like there are so many others and they just seem to be swiping them all under the rug and going, well, don't worry about it. They're actually really perfectly trained and maybe next time we'll turn on the cameras. It's absolutely ridiculous. Yeah, there is no real training. And remember we reported, I believe it was right here and across the network about how training was kind of trimmed. We just want to get people onboarded right away.
Starting point is 00:27:27 That's what Stephen Miller wants. I want to round them up. People with weed whackers and whose children are serving in the military and by any means necessary, including Renee Good, who was just dropping off her kids at school and decided to use her constitutional voice and say, I don't like what's going on here. Shot in the head. Yep. I also appreciate that you brought up earlier the being deployed to Afghanistan and the trauma that occurs in that kind of situation because historically it happens all the time.
Starting point is 00:27:58 And we're also in another war right now where people are being sent there and who knows how much ground invasion is going to take place. But the point is that like trauma happens when you send people into these kind of situations and they come back and then they inflict that on their fellow citizens. And it's absolutely terrible. But we will keep you updated on all of this as things develop, and we will be right back shortly. Hey, y'all, it's Kelly Clarkson with Wayfair. Ever order furniture online and wonder, what if? Like, what if it doesn't hold up? That sofa was four days old.
Starting point is 00:28:30 You should have ordered from Wayfair. With Wayfair, there's no what if. Just style you love and quality you can trust. Visit Wayfair.ca. Wayfair, every style, every home. Welcome back, everybody, to the Young Turks. So the Pentagon has decided to gut an agency that is devoted to what else. swells protecting civilians and they have replaced it with what we're just doing us we're doing a
Starting point is 00:29:59 social break comments whoa i am nailing it and that was my favorite comment of the day i want to read this other comment though i'm so glad that i i didn't screw up at all oh yeah you're excellent i want to read the coke one again uh nerd fergusons says i love t yt because we love jank and anna and when they're not here we have a split second of damn it usually followed by oh snap great guest hosts well you wrote that too soon nerd ferguson if you can't tell i've already gone to oh yeah i've already gone to 17 breaks and we're going to do 17 more before this hour but thank you very much for the kind words i really appreciate it and we are going to go back now back everybody and for real this time okay on to the next story so the pentagon has gutted an agency that is devoted
Starting point is 00:31:15 to protecting civilians and also they've replaced them with who we else, AI, of course. Now, this is all according to a new report that was obtained by the intercept. This news comes right as more U.S. soldiers are losing their lives. And in response to these deaths, War Secretary Pete Higgsath said, Godspeed, heroes, their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve. To which Marjorie Taylor Green responded, sacrifice? What the F are you talking about? They did not willingly sacrifice themselves. They were killed because of the war you, Trump, and the administration are waging on behalf of a foreign country, Israel. You mean their deaths fuel your bloodlust for a senseless war?
Starting point is 00:32:02 Yeah, so bloodlust does seem to be the perfect word to use here. I really don't know how else you can describe Hegs-S Pentagon dismantling their premier agency devoted to preventing civilian casualties. But before we move on, Sharon, what do you make of all this? Look, Marjorie Taylor Green's potty mouth is beautiful sometimes. This is actually a beautiful mind. Let's not sugarcoat this thing, okay? Let's tell the truth about what's going on here. Those men and women should be home with their families, not having someone knock at the door in the middle of the night and tell them, oh yeah, for nothing, they're dead and the straight is still closed and nothing.
Starting point is 00:32:45 And nothing else is going to change here. So you know what? Good on her on this one. But let's stop the rhetoric. Let's stop the lies to the American people. We pretty much got it now. Yeah. I think I agree.
Starting point is 00:33:01 And Marjorie Taylor Green, she has some misses. But when she hits, she will hit him out of the park. She's one of those folks. I'm like, if we could just sit down and have maybe like one conversation, I feel like you could really be great on our side. And she almost is, I think, at least with some issues. But anyway, let's dive into what this agency actually is. So the War Department's Civilian Protection Center of Excellence has reduced its staff from 40 personnel in January 2025 to just nine by the end of the year, according to the report.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Two current defense officials confirm that staffing levels remain the same today. Current and former government officials say the massive cuts have left the Pentagon unable to protect civilians. Now, you might be thinking, why keep just a few people around and not just shut down the entire. agency. Well, according to Wes Bryant, who was the center's chief of civilian harm assessments before being pushed out, the civilian protection center of excellence is being kept on life support in order to run cover for the Pentagon. The Hegzith regime held on to a thread of the program, mostly in effort to be able to say they are following the law. But the reality is the center and its efforts have had little to no influence on or oversight or visibility on operations, as long as they sit in. the seat. They're continuing to try to put out good work, but the reality is most of it is being thrown into the wind and neither institutionalized nor operationalized. And this next part is from the intercept. The tiny contingent that remains at the Civilian Protection Center of Excellence, the officials said, are also prevented from investigating major civilian casualty incidents,
Starting point is 00:34:38 like the U.S. attack on the Shahara-Taybe Elementary School in Minab, Iran in February, that killed more than 150 people, most of them children. Also, in case you're wondering, it does get worse. So according to the report obtained by the intercept, the Pentagon also abandoned a database used to track civilian harm last year without the data management platform, as the database is known. The Pentagon is literally incapable of keeping track of civilian harm. Excellent work from this administration.
Starting point is 00:35:10 As the Pentagon has starved the CHMR Enterprise, the U.S. has killed and wounded thousands of civilians across the world from Latin America to Africa to the Middle East. The World Health Organization put the death toll in Iran at 3,375 people before the ceasefire fell apart this month. The U.S. military has also conducted more than 220 extra judicial killings during a campaign of boat strikes targeting civilians in the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Also, a 10-person civilian harm mitigation team at CENTCOM also had their staff reduced to just one person and who was replacing them. It's robots, of course. Why not? During an army exercise, their new AI prototype cut down the timeline for producing civilian assessments by 97%. Because, you know, why take your time and really be deliberate when it comes to assessing civilian harm? Let's just get it done as quickly as possible, I guess.
Starting point is 00:36:09 And also the report mentions use of what is known as the Maven Smart System, an AI product from none other than Palantir, which is a company that Stephen Miller currently has between $100,000 and $250,000 of stock in, just bringing that for no reason whatsoever. And what are the remaining staffers supposed to do now that their jobs have become basically impossible? Well, according to Bryant, they're supposed to shut up, keep their heads down. and pretend that the civilian harm mitigation and response mission isn't simply a shell. So we have incredible reporting from The Intercept here, and it seems to confirm what seemed like a lot of suspicions that have been going around for quite a while, especially given the amount of silence from the administration in February when that school in Iran was struck, where we killed over 150 people,
Starting point is 00:36:59 many of them being schoolgirls, apparently maybe some of the silence, was a result of them just gutting the entire system that, takes care of whenever our military industrial complex ends up killing innocent people. So Sharon, I mean, my blood is a boiling a little bit. How are you feeling? Yeah, it's sick. You know, I think that they're bumbling idiots. They don't understand how you are supposed to verify AI, chat, whatever. But they also don't care. They're not really trying to over explain or make a good cover story. They're just kind of, you know, just kind of paint kind of paint it with a thin brush, thin coat. It doesn't really matter. After all,
Starting point is 00:37:41 these are little brown girls and you can't possibly love them as much as we love white babies here in the United States. So yeah, this is more sick-o behavior. And the more they act this way and perpetrate these things, the more ordinary, regular, decent people think you might even even done it on purpose. I understand there's no evidence of that, but look how you act and look how little care. Yep. One of my favorite comedy sketches ever is by a duo named Mitchell and Webb. And it's become a meme in recent years for pretty good reason, but it's the one where they're all wearing Nazi attire, basically, and they're looking at one another going, are we the baddies? And I feel like if you have an administration that is going, hey, we're not going to worry about civilian harm and we're
Starting point is 00:38:30 going to fire these people. And not only are we going to fire them, we're actually going to keep a couple around so that they can make us look good and we're going to replace you with AI. Like the idea that you are prioritizing efficiency when it comes to these kinds of assessments makes absolutely no sense to me, especially for an administration that is asking for even more funding, $1.5 trillion, I think the last time I checked, I think they can find enough money somewhere to be able to actually take care of these things. And apparently they can't. And I think that in that Intercept article, there is one quote where they talk about how this just is a reprioritization. It's no longer a priority for this administration to be able to keep track of the damage that they're doing overseas.
Starting point is 00:39:15 I don't know that it ever really has been, but this agency in particular began, I want to say, in like 20, 23, and they had just gotten going. Like they were really, the full steam ahead, basically. And right when they were hitting their stride is exactly when this administration came in and said, No more. In fact, we're going to get a chat bot to do it for you. And we're going to get that chat bot, get that AI from a company that many people have a vested interest in this administration already. So you have conflict of interest, corruption, and what seems to me just like moral depravity. Doctor, that's right on brand. That's just right on brand. So what more is there to discuss? It's right on brand. It's what they're doing. And we'll keep doing. Might as well make money after it too. Yeah. Thank you. I'm glad you appreciated my diagnosis. But on another note, we can go to maybe a story that is slightly less depressing, if that's okay with you, Sharon. So we're going to die for it.
Starting point is 00:40:12 All right. So folks, big news, Manosphere influencers, which by the way is two of the worst words you can never have appear next to each other. Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested yet again over the weekend on new sex trafficking and rape charges. Sharon, on a scale of 1 to 10, how shocked are you to hear that these upright citizens have once again been arrested? Nothing to see here. Okay. I mean, it can't even go on your scale because this is their brand. It's what the Tate Brothers are about. And boy, aren't they owning it? Yeah, they really, I mean, they have stuck to their brand better than I think most influencers have. have. And I hope they stick to it, yeah, all the way to prison. So yeah, let's dive into it. The influencers, Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested Saturday in Miami after the UK sought
Starting point is 00:41:08 their extradition on dozens of charges, including rape and sex trafficking. British prosecutor said Saturday, the brothers are facing a total of 59 charges for alleged offenses that took place between 2010 and 2017. 42 of the charges are for Andrew Tate alone, and then the other 17 are for Tristan. So it's good when brothers can share, I guess. Now, to be clear, not all of these charges are new. In fact, the CPS said it was bringing 38 new charges related to four additional victims.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Both brothers face rape and human trafficking accusations, and Andrew Tate faces charges of profiting from prostitution. and offenses related to, quote, indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. In the UK, the two-face prior charges of human trafficking, rape, and bodily harm, relating to three other alleged victims. The brothers have denied those charges. So in just the UK cases, there are a total of seven alleged victims
Starting point is 00:42:11 who have come out against the Tate brothers, all right? And of course, this is in addition to the multiple charges brought against them in the U.S. and in Romania as well. So in Romania, the brothers were arrested in 2022, alongside two women, on suspicion of human trafficking and forming an organized crime group allegations they have denied. Prosecutors alleged that the brothers trafficked 35 victims, including a 15-year-old. In 2025, the two landed in Miami, where they remained under judicial supervision, even though a Romanian court ruled that they could be extradited to Britain after legal proceedings in Romania ended. And as you can see, that is exactly what they did,
Starting point is 00:42:52 of course, as they've done with literally every single case that has been brought against them. They have denied every single allegation with their lawyer, Joseph McBride, saying the two are, quote, innocent and that this was a political hit job. You know, all of those Democrats that have been out for Andrew Tate. I don't know anybody who talks about Andrew Tate, but apparently it's one big conspiracy because he blames the arrest on a, quote, low-level functionary at the DOJ who didn't get approval for the arrest from Trump. Wow, with lawyers like that. He said, we're confident that once a competent judge sees the facts and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate, will walk free. America does not do
Starting point is 00:43:35 Britain's political dirty work. I don't know what goes through your head and what makes you want to be a lawyer, let alone a lawyer for Andrew and Tristan Tate, but if you were to make me guess how that lawyer would sound and the kind of defense they would go with, this would pretty much be it. This sounds like folks who have been very much cut from Trump's ill, but Sharon, I mean, are you, is this disappointing for you? Are you a big Tate brother fan? I'm assuming not, but just to be clear. No, they're trash. And it was good to see them again, under arrest in their, well, at least Tristan's Andrews, I think, had the short pants, those freeze I'll never understand. But that's the least of his troubles. Look, the lawyer is doing
Starting point is 00:44:16 exactly what you might expect. And by calling out a, quote, lower level justice department person who actually that part's probably true, probably did it so that, you know, let me go ahead and get them arrested. Because if I notify the people at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, it might not happen. So the same smarmy lawyer is doing the dog whistle to Trump and his friends. I mean, Most presidents would say, whoa, I met him one time at a party in college, don't know anything about this guy. Not Trump. He and the family are close. Andrew says he just talked to Baron Trump the other day. So, you know, that's what the lawyer's doing. Let me call it out. Let me try to get this thing undone. Suddenly Marco Rubio will do things like, well, there's a technicality. We can't quite extradite him.
Starting point is 00:45:02 Yeah, okay. They need to get out of here now. Yeah, I also want to know why they were just hanging out in Miami for so long and why that was okay to. because I remember this story hitting and being like, okay, this is the end. And it does just go to show. I think that when you are one of these Manosphere influencers, you very quickly get access to like a lot of power.
Starting point is 00:45:22 And you get access to a lot of connections. And that's what these guys have. And it's working out, I guess, pretty decently for them, at least up until this point. And I also think it speaks to the Manosphere itself. Like you have an ecosystem right now online, I think that really does play. on a lot of insecurities and young men, and it's very seductive for them. But this is who they're
Starting point is 00:45:46 listening to, and they're doing crimes allegedly. And I think that should go to show that, yeah, maybe stay away from these individuals. And it is a pipeline. It's not just for them a pipeline in terms of like, oh, I'm a Manosphere influencer, and now I have access to power and I have Trump's cell phone. It's also a pipeline for the individuals who consume this content constantly. And it starts warping their brains. And this level of insecurity that I think they're seeking to solve clearly isn't going to happen. Because when individuals commit the kinds of things they're being accused of, it's not usually a sign that these are confident, well-adjusted men. These are little boys who think they can get away with whatever they can get away with.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Yeah, they can. I mean, look what the current climate has people doing. It has people who are not traffickers even believing that these people, like the Tate brothers and Trump and anybody else who's associated with Epstein, they're the real victims, okay? Not the children, not the women. They're the ones who are being attacked and targeted. They're just good white men, young men who are just trying to make it in this world. And all you brown people and you women, you desperate, nasty, 30 women have attacked us and ruined our lives. That's actually, it's actually so devious.
Starting point is 00:47:08 It's brilliant what they put out. And actually there's people running with this scenario. Yeah, it reminds me the acronym Darvo, right? Like the deny, accuse, reverse, whatever. Yeah. And I mean, it's like from the top down. The fish rods from the head. Like the previous stories about ice.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Oh, actually the car was coming. They're using that to hit us. We were actually the victim. Yeah, this is a witch hunt. They're just, they're lying. It's all part of a scheme to get the tape. Like, who has the time? I think if we're going to develop a conspiracy on the left to take down some folks,
Starting point is 00:47:41 I don't know who's going to be starting with them. So it seems like just a tried and true thing where the people who want to believe that like these guys are innocent have an excuse to believe that they're innocent. And all it takes is some dufous lawyer being like, oh, actually, you know, This is all just to get them. You can listen to them for five minutes and figure out pretty quickly that these are not squeaky clean dudes. You made Antifa isn't involved? Not that.
Starting point is 00:48:05 I mean, I was at the meeting yesterday. So we didn't get to it, but we have plenty of other things lined up. Don't worry. Anyway, yeah. So we're going to dive into that. We'll keep you updated, folks. But goodness, good luck to Andrew Tate and Tristan. Just kidding.
Starting point is 00:48:21 All right. Good luck to the lawyer. So next up folks, more corruption. Donald Trump has cashed in big time on his own tariff policies, and here's how he did it. So a few weeks ago, Trump's financial disclosure for 2025 was released, and we learned something fairly startling. Let's flash back to last year when Trump announced his draconian tariffs on Liberation Day. But as you'll remember, Trump eventually backed back from those tariffs, and thus the taco meme was born that everybody remembers Trump always chickens out because market manipulation, however, was going on.
Starting point is 00:48:57 So it wasn't quite chickening out. He was actually apparently kind of nailing it. So according to sludge, the day before President Trump announced a 90-day pause on his sweeping tariffs, sending markets exploding higher. His investment accounts quietly purchased hundreds of stocks near the market low. What are the odds? On April 8, 2025, the disclosure shows 327 individual stock purchases worth as much as 12.8 million. billion dollars, one of the largest single-day stock buying sprees disclosed in the filing.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Okay. So just here's a list of the stocks that Trump purchased. These are including but not limited to Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Vidae, and Shake Shack. Because why not, right? Who among us hasn't been awake at 2 a.m.? and decided to buy some stuff off Amazon or maybe some stock and shake shacks up. The S&P 500 jumped nearly 10% the following day when Trump announced the pause. One of the largest single day gains in the indexes history. So Sharon, just purviewing what you've heard so far, summarize, what do you think? What's your hunch here? Donald Trump put on this event and others and gives press conferences and comments to line his pocket. He's a grifter. He's the head of the Trump family grift and a loser who did not have great business sense.
Starting point is 00:50:27 We know about the bankruptcies. We know he inherited things. We know how many things he ruined has now made more money grifting off of the American people than he ever did in his lifetime. So I think the answer is obvious about what's going on here. And it continues. Right now, he's like playing in our faces. They're not, again, it's not really that they're trying to hide things if they're not. Yeah, it used to be that I was like, okay, maybe these corruption charges or accusations are a little overblown. But in this administration, it's just become comically obvious that that's what's going on. And also, you might be thinking, well, maybe it actually is okay. Like maybe this is overblown and it's not Trump actually making these trades. And according to his administration, that is exactly the case.
Starting point is 00:51:10 There's nothing to worry about. It's all fiction. Don't even think about it. Don't even worry about it. The White House has maintained that the accounts are managed by independent financial institutions and that the president plays no role in individual investment decisions. A White House spokesperson told CNN in January that Trump's accounts were invested through, quote, a computer-based model portfolios that automatically replicate recognized indexes,
Starting point is 00:51:33 such as the Schwab 1000, and that neither President Trump nor any member of his family has any ability to direct influence or provide input regarding how. the portfolio is invested or when investments are bought or sold. So you can go ahead and just take that excuse with maybe a very large grain of salt because we have plenty more examples of very fishy trades. On August 18th, for example, the accounts purchased Intel stock valued between $250,000 and $500,000 four days before Trump announced that the federal government would take a nearly $9 billion equity stake in the chipmaker sending Intel shares up roughly 6%. Also, a week prior to that, Trump had met privately with the Intel CEO,
Starting point is 00:52:18 probably just golfing or whatever. And also there's more. Trump's accounts also repeatedly purchased Palantir and GEO Group, the private prison company as well, while both were receiving contracts from the federal government. So even if you imagine for a moment that all of this is on the up and up. It still doesn't look good. And my understanding, at least prior to this administration, or the second administration, was that Trump really cared about image a lot. He cared about making sure that he came off in a particular way that he was endearing to working class Americans, which is perhaps largely why he was elected at least initially. And this just seems like corruption that is so brazen that it even goes against his own narcissism, if that makes any
Starting point is 00:53:03 sense, but I guess greed will do that. Sharon, what are your thoughts? Yeah, but he's such a weirdo. He's such an old weirdo. How much money does this old weirdo who has captured the American presidency need? Okay, got it. You're not going to jail, you've insulated yourself, you've upended American government that we've had since, I don't know, forever, and you win.
Starting point is 00:53:29 But you can't take it with you, okay? your cancels are flaring up, you've got all kinds of issues. Why do we have to do it at this rate and this speed? It's like an overdrive. I don't even believe he cares about his children that much. He cares about himself first. So this is about first person greed. It's just bizarre.
Starting point is 00:53:50 And the guy who doesn't really care and is doing it in our faces and not even trying to tell good lies anymore or intricate lies. also then wants to fight to keep his name on, you know, the Kennedy Center. So does he really care about image? Can he salvage any of this? He's just an old weirdo. Yep, he isn't a weirdo. Well put, I agree with that diagnosis entirely.
Starting point is 00:54:14 Also, I mean, I don't know how much of it is him and how much of it is like just people in his ear. And I don't know, in my mind, his brain is just like an Adderall pill that's been shoved inside of a chicken McNugget. Like I don't think there's a lot of. going on there at this point. I think he's been hooked up to electrodes and he's probably controlled by some AI program already. That's my conspiracy theory.
Starting point is 00:54:35 But at the end of the day, he's still got people surrounding him, telling him exactly what he wants to hear, and that everyone loves him, there's nothing to worry about. And I think those individuals, in addition to him, because ultimately the buck stops with him, they also are just pilfering the American people and they have absolutely no shame in doing so. It's assonine. Yeah, it is. You know, sometimes I think about like the.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Wizard of Oz and you know, they pull back the curtain and the whole thing cromels of it. Like when is that moment going to happen after this administration is over? They have to go somewhere, okay, and exists, I think amongst us unless they plan to press the button on the way out, you know, the last day, I don't know, but it's just so weird, this little crew. Like what do they do with their office parties? Really? Yeah, I hesitate to, I shudder to imagine what they you do at least the night progresses. But yeah, it's absolutely insane and good luck to them. I mean, this is a great example of how when you elect people who, on the pretense that they're
Starting point is 00:55:37 successful business people and their entire brand is making as much money as possible, this is guaranteed to eventually happen. But anyway, we are going to move on to one more story, folks. I believe we have time. No, we don't. Bye, everybody. Thank you for being here. Sharon. My pleasure, doctor. Thank you. You were excellent. I mean, a few hiccups, but other than that, absolutely flawless. So, right? I mean, no notes whatsoever. None.
Starting point is 00:56:07 I see smoke coming out of the producer's ears. But anyway, thank you, everybody, for being here. And hopefully, I will see you next time. Have a good one. This episode is brought to you by Activia. You might already be eating yogurt, but not all yogurts are created equal. If you're Christian, in fact, I will fight for you to have your religious liberty and practice your Christianity. I believe in that. I don't believe in Christianity, which means that you do not get to dictate the way I live my life based on your religion.
Starting point is 00:57:05 I don't care what the Bible says. You have every right in the world. All those women who identify with your religion have every right in the world to not get an abortion, to not take birth control. But they do not have the right to dictate my life. And what I decide to do with my body, I don't care about your goddamn religion. I'm so tired of having non-stop conversations about what the Bible says. You live your life in the way that you interpret the Bible.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Again, I don't care, but you don't get to take the Bible and tell me, well the Bible says this, In this chapter and this verse, I don't care. I don't care. I don't believe in it. And I have the right, based on our Constitution, to not believe in it. That's been left on scape. Ain't a whole lot left. I don't know why they need any more bomb.
Starting point is 00:57:57 Let us be clear. The United States provided $18 billion in military aid to Israel. Netanyahu indiscriminate bombardment have killed more than 50,000 civilians, 60,000. percent of whom are women, children, paramedics, and journalists, all of this is against basic human decency. You don't starve children with absolutely no humanitarian aid getting into Gaza. It is a war crime. It is illegal for the United States government to provide Israel with more offensive weapons. We will not forgive us. We've been on our phones too much.
Starting point is 00:58:50 I feel like we just need to touch grass or something. I told you. I mean, you know what? Let's actually do it. Let's touch the grass. Whoa. Andrew Yang? It's not racist, right?
Starting point is 00:59:05 It's him. Yes, it is I. Andrew Yang out here giving money away, as usual. Wait, but literally? Do you use a phone? Noble Mobile will cut your wireless bill in half every month, and you get paid even more if you log off, look up and touch grass.
Starting point is 00:59:19 Oh, I actually have some grass. I don't think that's a kind of grass. Not that kind of grass, unfortunately. Wait, what the... Whoa. I guess that kind of grass works, too. All grass works. All grass and we get cash?
Starting point is 00:59:33 Did you see that? Thanks. Make it rain, make it rain, make it rain, make it rain, make it. That didn't rain so good. But now it's raining good. Corruption, injustice, the system is rigged against you. Every day, we're blasted by a fire.
Starting point is 00:59:53 flurry of terrible news from every angle, which can make it challenging to stay positive and know how to fight back. The damage report is your solution. I'm John Adrola, and my daily morning show cuts through the noise and exposes the real damage being done to our country, the world, and how we can fight back against it. Starting point is 01:01:36 How are you doing today? I'm doing fantastic. Happy to be back on with you guys, as always. Yeah, I feel like it's been a while since we've done a show together. It's also a Monday, which is a little unusual. But happy to be here. And we have a ton of stories. I know you guys had Elliot and Sharon in your first hour.
Starting point is 01:01:53 So we're going to continue with some more great stories. So on that note, Waz, if you're ready, we're going to get right into this first story. Let's get into it. Vice President thirsts for the approval of Groypers, people primarily driven by their insatiable need to blame Jews for all the world's ills. Just as spineless progressives will say or do anything to get a pat on the head from Zoran Mamdani, Vice President J.D. Vance seems to be crafting his every utterance for the plotts of Tucker Carlson and the Groyper right.
Starting point is 01:02:22 I don't think Vance shares their viewpoint, but what the Vice President lacks in conviction, he more than makes up for in pandering to the conspiracy theorists of the Twitter sphere. Israel is trying to undermine the United States. Little tiny Israel is trying to undermine the United States. Our greatest ally fought next to us, shoulder to shoulder at war. Now they're our biggest enemy. They have influencers in America, don't you know? Paid influencers. I'd like to know who these paid influencers are. So Israel firsters like Batia Angar Sargon and Mark Levin are still furious. with our vice president, J.D. Vance, for calling out an Israeli sciop on the Joe Rogan experience.
Starting point is 01:03:05 But we've just learned even more about that sci up, thanks to a deep dive from the Wall Street Journal of all places. Okay. So if you need a very, very quick refresher, here is this. So last week, Time wrote an article about how Brad Parscale, who has registered as a foreign agent, by the way, is operating a pro-Israel influence campaign. And that has drawn the ire of both the Israeli government and the American government. The Israelis are mad that the scheme isn't working the way they apparently want it to work, given that the country's popularity continues to plummet to an all-time low. We've never seen disapproval for Israel like we're seeing today. And the Trump administration is mad because all of the pro-Israel influencers came out against the U.S. Iran memorandum of understanding.
Starting point is 01:03:54 So that helped to sabotage the very, very short-lived piece. So now, J.D. Vance has discussed the pro-Israel influence operation on Joe Rogan show. So now that has gone out to all the millions of people who still listen to Joe Rogan. And he is now being labeled an anti-Semite for acknowledging its existence. So before we go any further, was what are your initial thoughts on all of this so far? It's kind of crazy that J.D. Vance is on Joe Rogan talking about all this. I think J.D. Vance has aspirations beyond his term as vice president. He wants to run for president himself one day. And, you know, he's kind of licked his finger and seen which way the wind was
Starting point is 01:04:38 blown, what direction is going. And it's obviously on both sides of the aisle at this point, especially generationally for Republicans, younger Republicans, and pretty much every single demographic of Democrats are anti-Israel, like they just are. And I think that's J.D. Vance is trying to get ahead of that because he's affiliated with a White House is probably the most pro-Israel White House in the history of our country,
Starting point is 01:05:04 in the history of Israel. And so yeah, it's not hard for a guy with even half you know, a brain of political savvy to see like, all right, man, I need to distance myself from this nation that's becoming a pariah throughout the entire world
Starting point is 01:05:20 and especially in our own country. Yeah, it is interesting to see him go so obviously against the rest of the White House and against Donald Trump. Clearly, he is reading some kind of polling that they are not reading or he's at least acknowledging it. And he's trying to really get to the younger generations if he's talking about all of this on Joe Rogan show. But the Wall Street Journal did recently publish this piece. And here's the headline, it says, Israel's $50 million experiment to change U.S. public opinion, The Israeli government is trying to shore up its U.S. reputation with help from influencers,
Starting point is 01:05:58 Trump insiders, and millions of AI-driven texts. Okay, so not all of the information contained in this piece is new. For example, we've known for some time that the Israeli government has devoted $700 million to its budget for Hezbara in 26. What is that? $700 million, okay? But it's worth reviewing what we already know. along with all these new revelations from the expose.
Starting point is 01:06:25 So here's what it said. Israel has retained at least six firms to help with the effort in the U.S. over the past year. Three dozen new people, many of them marketing professionals, have registered as foreign agents for Israel. The country is on track to spend more than any other on U.S. influence disclosed with the federal government this year. And that's according to Nick Cleveland Stout, a researcher who studies foreign lobbying
Starting point is 01:06:50 at the Quincy Institute for. responsible statecraft. So the Wall Street Journal gave the following example of an influence operation that was drafted but was never formally executed. So a group called Show Faith by Works, filed documents with plans to send pro-Israel messages specifically to megachurch attendees and Christian college students saying it could reach some four million of them in the Southwest through a geo fencing campaign. The group created last July said the work would involve positive associations with the nation
Starting point is 01:07:25 of Israel while linking the Palestinian population to extremist fashions and would cost more than $3 million. So I don't think it's anyone's surprise that they decided to target churchgoers in churches, people who go to church, you know, they're like they're already very pro-Israel for reasons that are, I guess, makes sense. They're in the Bible, I don't know, but they seem like, they seem like, they're, a very vulnerable population. They would be easy to be influenced in this way. And it does seem to be working to an extent. But there were other influencers who were involved as well outside of churches.
Starting point is 01:08:00 So the effort includes creating websites, posts, and links with pro-Israel content that are designed in part to trigger more positive results about the country on AI chat bots like Claude or chat GPT. If you have to do so much just to get people to like you, perhaps, you're just unlikable. You know, maybe just try to be nicer to people. Maybe stop doing genocide. People don't like that typically. And it is suspected that the Israeli government is even paying for automated text messaging
Starting point is 01:08:32 services that attempt to educate random Americans about the importance of the U.S. Israel Alliance. I can't imagine getting a text like that on my phone. I don't know what I do. Unfortunately for the Israeli government, though, their efforts have yet to bear fruit. And that is very fortunate for the rest of us. So some 60% of American adults now have an unfavorable view of Israel according to a March poll by Pew Research. And as I mentioned earlier, that is perhaps the most amount of Americans that have ever had or held a disapproval, a disfavorable view of Israel, at least in my lifetime that I can think of.
Starting point is 01:09:11 And Israel is not that old, so probably of all time. You know, this is the first time that Americans have actually been able to see a lot of what is going on in Israel and surrounding areas. We saw what they did in Gaza and the West Bank. We saw, we see them now in Lebanon even. And they have said that they're going to continue these expansive efforts. And they, they are doing so without any kind of remorse. We are going to talk more about Israel later on in the show, as I'm sure is, is not a surprise to anyone. But, was what are your thoughts on like how concerted this effort is?
Starting point is 01:09:44 And it's also like you're doing too much because nobody likes you. Yeah, it feels like what they're doing is trying to shore up the last bit of support that they do have, which, you know, they got the evangelical Zionist base, like these people that think that God or Jesus is going to come back when the Jews inhabit Israel or whatever is kabuki nonsense they believed. and, you know, other people on the right who are just on board with whatever Donald Trump's doing. It seems like they're just trying to shore up their remaining support. I think the problem for them is not that they think that this is some kind of public relations problem. Or, you know, the only real problem are these, like, virulent anti-Semites who want to see all the Jews of the world rounded up and killed. But the problem for them, that's just not the case.
Starting point is 01:10:38 Yes, of course, there's some anti-Semitism out there. that's definitely part of this backlash. But to me, by and large, it feels like most of the anti-Israel sentiment is just based on their actions. Like, that's what they do. That's the one thing they don't want to change. Like, your cue rating has gone down in accordance with the brutality that they've carried out that war. Or, I mean, if you could even call it a war in Gaza. And so, like, if you're not willing to change how you're prosecuting, you know,
Starting point is 01:11:11 that occupation over there, I don't know why they would think like getting some dudes to tweet stuff and, you know, AI chatbots to be more favorable in their sort of coverage of you. It's just, it's just nuts to me. Yeah. And this comes up quite a bit, you know, when the obvious solution is just, you know, be more likable, you know, stop doing all these things that make people not like you. But instead, they're like, no, that's not an option. We're going to continue to do all these terrible, heinous things. And we're going to continue to do it on camera in the age of social media when the world is more connected than ever in this particular specific way. And so we're just going to do all this other stuff to try and counter all of that, you know, stopping the genocide is not an option. So we'll just do
Starting point is 01:11:59 chat GPT and church and social media campaigns to just try and make people like us more, but it's not working. And that is very comforting because today I feel like people are so easily fooled. People don't know what to believe all the time. They don't know what's real and what isn't. And so it is comforting that it is not working the way they want it to. And it feels also very similar to the way the Republican Party overall. And you know, you can say for the Democrats, too, the way that they both operate. They refuse to just give the American people the things that they're asking for, the things that they even campaigned on. And instead, they have to go on all kinds of offensive in like this runaround. Like, it would be a lot easier if Donald Trump
Starting point is 01:12:40 just release the Epstein files, but he won't do that. So we have all this other stuff that he's doing instead. So it's all just like very similar tactics. I'm just drawing parallels, okay? On that note, we're going to jump topics. We're going to get into another story. We're going to talk a little bit about Jake Tapper versus Abdul Al-Sayed. Let's watch. Good to see you again. So you had a huge rally last night with Bernie and AOC. I want to play something you said at this rally in Detroit last night. Are we going to let 50 million in lies? steal this election? Are we going to let Trump donors, billionaires, and AIPAC lie steal this election? Steal this election is a pretty stark term. I haven't really heard it
Starting point is 01:13:31 used since 2024. To be clear, this is a close race. Congresswoman Haley Stevens is a four-term congresswoman endorsed by outgoing Senator Gary Peters. Are you saying that if you don't win this election, it will be because it was stolen? Is that what he's saying, Jake? Okay, so yesterday, Jake Tapper interviewed the Michigan Senate candidate of Dahl El Sayed. But as you just saw, Tapper seemed much more concerned about El Siyadh's language there, instead of the tsunami of outside spending that is coming into this race. And before we get to El Sallad's response, you should know this. A-PAC and its affiliated groups have spent close to $30 million backing Haley Stevens,
Starting point is 01:14:13 and that is their largest investment ever in a single race. Stevens has spent $1 million on advertising, but her backers have spent $50 million. And most voters are unlikely to realize many of the ads blanketing Michigan's airwaves are funded by APEC. They never mentioned Israel, instead highlighting Stevens' work on manufacturing and featuring former President Barack Obama. And, was this Obama thing was crazy. You know, they put him in there insinuating that he was supportive of Haley Stevens, that he even endorsed. her maybe. And a lot of black Americans in that district said, yeah, I was going to vote for her because it looked like Obama liked her. But Obama has never endorsed this candidate. And so it's
Starting point is 01:14:57 very misleading, very intentionally misleading. What are your thoughts there? I mean, again, it speaks to the complete and utter lack of good feeling towards Israel that APEC knows they can't mention Israel in their ads because it's toxic. You don't want to like, They can't publicly affiliate their preferred candidates with their cause. That's like kind of all you need to know about how toxic, you know, everything around Israel is particularly for people who identify as Democrats. And so, yeah, it's not surprising. Like, you can't win if you stick the Israel tag on somebody in a Democratic primary.
Starting point is 01:15:41 So they got to do all this underhanded, you know, smoke and mirror. tactics in order to defeat Al-Say-A-D. So, again, the sheer amount of money that is being dumped in this, and then, you know, you'll get guys like Jake Taber to be like, well, you know, foreign countries are all trying to influence our stuff.
Starting point is 01:16:06 Like, there's no comparison. It's like by orders of magnitude more, the amount of money that gets poured in. Yeah, we know, you know, the Saudis try to influence Congress and we know the MRI. Rattis try to do it. I mean, in New York, the Turks were paying Eric Adams and plane tickets. Like, we know other countries try to influence our politicians.
Starting point is 01:16:27 We get that. But the degree to which, you know, the Israeli government and their marketing machine works is nuts. You can't compare it to anything else. Yeah, I mean, it's just like what we were just talking about. They're going out of their way to really spread this message. And like the self awareness that they're exerting by not mentioning Israel, as you pointed out, it's so telling.
Starting point is 01:16:53 Like they know that they have bad PR right now, except it's not PR. It's just that we can see for the first time what it is that you're actually doing. And we can hear the things that they say about their goals in the region and about how they feel about people who are not Jewish or who are not Israeli specifically. So all the money that is going into this race against Abdullah al-Said is very, very telling. So let's hear how he responded to Jake Tapper. I believe in the rigor of the democratic process, Jake, but I also believe that the corruption of billionaire money,
Starting point is 01:17:25 A-PAC money to the tune of $50 million being spent is anti-democratic on its own terms. If you were to take all the outside spending in this race out, this would not be a close election. But it speaks to the way that unfortunately, money from DTE, our local utility, money from Blue Cross Blue Shield, money from A-PAC has come in to try to truck this election in favor of somebody who they know is going to do their business instead of the peoples. And I think that's anti-democratic on its own terms. It's why I'm running on getting money out of politics so we can put money back
Starting point is 01:17:54 in people's pockets and pass Medicare for all. Okay, so that sounds like a like a pretty good response to me. He didn't say that he thinks that everything is rigged like Jake Tapper tried to insinuate. He just said there is a ton of outside money flowing into this campaign and that alone should be worthy of note, right? Jake Tapper, however, he wasn't done. He had more. Here's what he had to say. So the attacks on Haley Stevens are also at issue.
Starting point is 01:18:24 I know there are a lot of attack ads against you, but there are so many attacks on Haley Stevens that on Friday, you posted, quote, it's become impossible to ignore the way that people online make fun of my opponent. For things that have nothing to do with her policies or politics, it's unkind and unhelpful, unquote. It's true that there are some really harsh comments. about Haley Stevens that I've seen. Here's one, quote, she's a suit with a large APAC bank account.
Starting point is 01:18:48 That's it. She can't string together two coherent sentences. She's a sellout who forgot how to think for herself. Corporate money can't buy her a personality. Do you know who said that? That was you and your campaign. And I want to speak to that because every single time we talk about all the outside money coming in as a crutch in this election, it seems as though we're not hearing any explanation as to why. I think we saw some of it last week when the congresswoman voted in favor of sending $3.3 billion of our tax dollars that should be spent on our health care and our schools to a foreign government to buy bombs in tanks. I would really like to hear a fulsome explanation of exactly what the tradeoff has been. And unfortunately, $50 million doesn't fall off trees,
Starting point is 01:19:30 doesn't come from nowhere. It comes because there's been some expectation on the back. So I'm yeah, and everything he said was right. Like she can't string together two sentences. It's very uncomfortable to watch her speak. And I'm not running for anything. So I feel like I can say that. I'm also not a voting person in Michigan. But, you know, like they're all thinking it, right? Well, the interview went on Elsaid grew visibly impatient when Jake Tapper suggested that he is not sufficiently tough on the late Ayatollah of Iran. very specific. I don't know what that has to do with the people of Michigan who just want health care. But here's the clip. The war with Iran is clearly heating up. Three U.S. service members, well, two were killed and one is missing overnight.
Starting point is 01:20:16 They were stationed in Jordan. 20 weeks ago when Iran's supreme leader was killed, you told your staff, according to audio obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, quote, there are a lot of people in Dearborn who are sad today. So like, I just don't want to comment on common A at all, unquote. I thought that quote, was interesting because the Ayatollah has killed tens of thousands of innocent Iranians, not to mention the proxies that Iran has funded that have killed innocent civilians all over the Middle East. Why were you worried about offending people who support the Ayatollah? Jake, on a day where we're mourning the loss of two more service members in a war we never should have fought, I think all of us ought to step back and ask whether or not everybody in Michigan,
Starting point is 01:20:59 frankly, everybody in America shouldn't be sad about the fact that this point. president backed by the prime minister of a foreign government took us to a war. We had no business fighting in. So yeah, I didn't want to comment on it then because it's a ridiculous pretext. And now you're asking me about the Ayatollah, who's dead, by the way, and you're not asking me about the service members who've died. You're not asking me about whether or not this war should have ever been fought. You're not asking me about whether or not the costs that are being borne by Michiganers in the tax dollars we pay or the gas prices that are insane right now are worth it. And so, look, let's have a conversation based in Michigan. I'm running for Senate
Starting point is 01:21:32 in Michigan. And I think here in Michigan, all of us are probably sad about the fact that we went to war that we never should have fought. Yeah, I like that he brought it back to Michigan there. And it seems I'm not trying to, you know, take credit away from Abdullah Syed. But that is a very similar play to what Mamdani did, right? They kept asking him about Israel. They kept asking him about Iran. He said, I'm running for the mayor to be the mayor of New York City. So I'm going to speak to issues that are important to the people of New York City. In Michigan, with this race, it's a Senate race. So there is a degree of, you know, they're going to have to vote on these types of things. But at the end of the day, you're there to represent the people of your state.
Starting point is 01:22:15 And this question, like I also love was that he pointed out that this Ayatollah is dead, the one that, the one that Jake Tapper is pressing him on. Like, can we move on? Can we talk about the actual issues? Because this is what we need to be talking about. And we also need to be talking about all this outside influence that is flowing into this race and why that is happening. What are your thoughts? I mean, it's dumbfounding, dude. Listening to Jake Tapper talk about innocent civilians being killed, really? Are we going to apply that standard across the board to other leaders of other certain other countries?
Starting point is 01:22:56 Like, it's nuts. The idea that you guys give a damn about civilian deaths. It's absolutely insane. And then, you know, it ignores the fact. And look, everybody who watches TYT knows my stance on over religiosity. I think it's crap. I think we'd be a better society without it. However, that doesn't ignore the fact that the Supreme Leader,
Starting point is 01:23:26 is seen as a religious figure, a religious leader. Okay? So if there are Shia Muslims in Michigan and this, who see this guy as one of their religious leaders, and this guy who's courting their vote doesn't think he should go out and celebrate his freaking brutal death and assassination, I mean, like, give me a break, dude. Like, just the idea to Jake Tappell,
Starting point is 01:23:56 Oh, the Ayatollah's responsible with tens of thousand. Is his proxy, like, shut up. Jake Tappar is just playing stupid right there. It also didn't accomplish anything, like, really. They killed the Ayatollah. Good job. They have a new one. Like, they already have a new Ayatollah.
Starting point is 01:24:14 So that's what I'm saying. What was he supposed to do? Like, oh, we can, yeah, let's do it. We killed the Ayatola. We started a war. Like, what the, like, this is nuts. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:25 And it's true, like the average American is more concerned. Like yes, I don't want to see the loss of life. I don't want to see all that destruction over there. I don't know why we're doing this. I'm confused as to why all of this money needs to be spent over there. All of my money needs to be spent over there. All of my money now needs to be given to the military industrial complex. So we can do war in Iran for reasons that they will not tell us.
Starting point is 01:24:47 He's absolutely right that the people of this country don't aren't, we're not trying to celebrate anything that's going on over there. not even in like solidarity with our military because like what are we celebrating, you know? And even if we killed the Ayatollah, what difference has it made? There's a new Ayatollah. Okay, nothing has functionally changed over there. They tell us the war is over. It's still going on.
Starting point is 01:25:11 People are over this. And as a senator, he's going to have to vote on issues like this. And I would hope that there is at least one senator somewhere in the country, because this does affect me even down here in Texas. I want there to be more senators who are going to say things like this out loud and then vote accordingly because like I know I can't rely on either of my Texas senators to do that. You know what I mean? So I'm looking at people like Abdul Al-Sayed to have a voice somewhere in this country. So any final thoughts for good or our first break?
Starting point is 01:25:43 I know there's a lot of hand-wringing about the Ellison's just buying up media, you know, owning CB. 60 minutes, blah, blah, blah. They're about to get the Warner contract so that they'll own CNN. CNN could die tomorrow. I'll be happy to see it. If I never have to see Jake Tapper, Dana Bash speak ever again,
Starting point is 01:26:08 kill that thing. Now, it's useless. We don't need it in our discourse. We don't need these hacks anymore. We got stuff like TYT. We got Sateo. We got breaking points. We got all kinds of other stuff.
Starting point is 01:26:21 we don't need these jokers anymore. Yeah. And it seems a lot of Americans are starting to look at other sources outside. The problem is a lot of them don't realize the things that they're not getting reported to about, like the things that they don't know. They don't know what they don't know. They just think that that is the news and that's it. Then that's all there is.
Starting point is 01:26:41 But a lot of people are finding other sources and that is encouraging. So, all right. We're going to take a break. We will be right back with much, much more. Hey guys, let's check out some of your comments and see what you guys had to say. This is over on YouTube members. Kings of Boxing 6467 says, do Palestinians really need all that space? You know what?
Starting point is 01:28:02 That's a great question. No one has asked before. Maybe they just like, they don't need all that space. Maybe the Israelis could just utilize it better, really develop the land, get some beachfront property going, really get the most out of this desert property that they have. box says, unless Israel kills Americans, then we will just not notice. Yikes, that would be truly something if it came to that. And Aziz Husani, 5745 says, I believe depression is coming sooner than later. Sorry to say it.
Starting point is 01:28:35 You know, I guess it had to be said. So thank you so much for saying that. It is not a fun thought. It's a depressing thought, which is, you know, that's the joke, right? Let's see, how much time do we have? We're going to go back to the show. Thanks so much. Those are your comments.

Starting point is 01:30:06 And on that note, we have some more stories. So let's get right into it. Hakeem Jeffries is fighting the good fight. And it's not against the Republicans. It's against his own fellow Democrats. And who's surprised? Nobody. Okay.
Starting point is 01:30:20 So Bernie Sanders has been at the forefront of endorsing a host of progressive challengers this midterm cycle. But I'm going to take you back to March in North Carolina for just a Second, Bernie endorsed Nita Alam over Valerie Fushi, and that is the conservative Democratic incumbent and member of the Congressional Black Caucus, and that part is relevant. So Jeffreys decided that Sanders had gone just a little too far with that endorsement. So he tried to reason with Bernie Sanders on a phone call. And this is per reporting from CNN.
Starting point is 01:30:53 It says the House Democratic leader Warren Sanders against meddling in House primaries, particularly one involving a black Democrat in such a critical midterm election year, according to three Democrats familiar with the conversation. He seemed to not care, said Representative Greg Meeks of New York, a Jeffrey's ally, who was also on the call, said of Sanders recalling the previously unreported phone call. So they were surprised that Bernie Sanders was like, no, I'm not going to endorse this conservative Democratic candidate just because she's the incumbent. And just because she's a member of the Black Caucus, I'm going to endorse the progressive candidate.
Starting point is 01:31:33 That is what Bernie does, okay? If he endorsed anyone else, it would have been hypocritical of him. And that is not anything that in however old Bernie is, he's never done that. Okay. So Representative Fushi, though, she would go on to barely, barely win her primary. She eeked out a victory within less than a 1% margin. Okay, so that was a very, very close call for her and a very, very close call for the establishment Democrats. And despite this, even though the fact that they they lost that particular
Starting point is 01:32:04 race, even though by not much, the Sanders faction of this entire party, they have more than enough reason to celebrate. Okay. So just this election cycle, Sanders has endorsed more than 90 candidates helping defeat House incumbents in New York City and Colorado. Of the 60 candidates who already had their elections, 42 have won their races, including 10 out of 16, federal candidates according to his team. So that's 42 out of 60. So over two thirds of his candidates are winning their races. And some Democrats have criticized Sanders for getting these Democrats in office, okay? They've criticized his efforts as a waste of resources, as it forces them to spend money in primary races instead of allocating that money to fighting the GOP. How dare Bernie Sanders
Starting point is 01:32:53 waste people's money? Bernie Sanders is the one that's wasting all over money. That's That's the story that they're trying to sell us right now. Okay? It's not lost on voters that this would be a non-issue if the DNC money was actually just withheld from primaries entirely, thereby, you know, forcing each candidate to battle it out on their merits and on their ideas and what a concept that would be. You know, who to thunk that people would just be able to vote for whoever it is that they want to vote for based on the ideas there.
Starting point is 01:33:22 Still, some have called into question the character of Sanders endorsements, Democratic representative of Hillary Shulton decided to use Graham Platner's disgraceful exit from the main race as fodder against Bernie Sanders saying Bernie has endorsed some flawed candidates recently. I think it's really important to look at the judgment that has been exercised. The grand platinum situation should be a huge warning sign to a lot of voters about what that stamp of approval might mean. And you knew as soon as that happened that the bulk of the criticism was going to come from other Democrats, not from the Republicans, because the Republicans don't care about things like that, okay? If this was a Republican candidate, Grant Platner would still be on the ticket.
Starting point is 01:34:03 It would have stepped down, right? Like, the Republicans can't criticize that because all of their guys are way worse than Grand Platner. But other Democrats, they're using this as just exactly what they needed, right, to get the progressive wing of the party. And by the way, these are like, these are the same Democrats who just what, like a year ago, rallied around, Andrew Cuomo, who had equally troubling allegations, if not worse, okay? So they're completely hypocritical and they really just want to stick it to the progressives and Bernie Sanders and AOC and the like. So the showdown between the Jeffrey side of the Democratic Party and the Sanders side all comes down to two consequential races in Michigan.
Starting point is 01:34:46 There is the Abdul al-Said versus Haley Stevens Senate race. And then there is the three-way house race between progressive William Lawrence and conservative Democratic, Democrats, Matt Mazden, and Bridget Brink. So despite Lawrence making comments that some have considered demeaning to black voters, comments that he, by the way, has apologized for, Lawrence still holds a slight advantage in his race per sema for, but the race between El Ceyed and Stevens proves to be more contentious as we just talked about. But over at the bulwark, which is an outlet if you're not familiar, and it's helmed by
Starting point is 01:35:22 mostly disaffected Republicans who have come over to the left. But it still is, in my opinion, pretty right leaning. They provided a lopsided analysis of the race by saying that Stevens, a four-term moderate House Democrat with close ties to party leadership, has been relentlessly ridiculed on social media for her voice and physical appearance, prompting her allies to accuse El-Sayed of sexism. El-Said, a progressive former health official, has seen his campaign drowned in outside advertising, accusing him of being the Republican's preferred nominee and propping up Stevens.
Starting point is 01:36:00 So the article didn't actually call out the intense Islamophobia that has been directed at El Syed, but it did highlight blind spots like this. They said the fact that Michigan's primary is so late in the summer allows very little time for the two camps to make nice ahead of November, as if that was even an option. Stevens backers are quick to note that already some El Sayyad supporters have threatened to not vote for her in the general election if she is the party nominee. And why would they? If you support Abdul al-Sayed, there is nothing for you from Haley Stevens. She is on record. She is on camera. She has said publicly that she loves Israel. She wants to give them more money. She thinks we should all support Israel.
Starting point is 01:36:42 She's very, very outwardly, unapologetically pro-Israel. And I'm going to assume that if you're somebody who is supporting El-Said, you are not as overtly pro-Israel. as somebody like Haley Stevens. So now all eyes are on the DSA, which is being actively rebranded as like the Tea Party of the left. And as one conservative Democrat put it, the DSA, which Bernie's a part of, is trying to hijack the Democratic Party. And what you're seeing is people don't want that.
Starting point is 01:37:12 The Democratic Party wants to be the Democratic Party. And he's trying to use the Democratic Party as a vessel for socialism and people don't want socialism. things there. To be clear, Bernie Sanders is not actually a member of the DSA, despite referring to himself as a Democratic socialist. And also, it seems that the people do want that. It seems as though the people do want something that is not overt late stage capitalism. They want something that is a little bit more socialist or just more populist. They want this thing and they're demonstrating it because they're winning elections. These DSA candidates are winning their elections.
Starting point is 01:37:51 42 out of 60 candidates, that is nothing to scoff at. And you can't just pretend that that's not happening. But the reason for their nervous tone is perhaps best summarized here. They said they're spooked because they're seeing all of these young rising talents and most of them are progressives. There isn't a lot of star power coming out of the sort of centrist establishment wing of the party. And that's from Mark Longabal. And he was a 2016 Bernie Sanders campaign strategist.
Starting point is 01:38:20 So he might know something about that. And also, yeah, it's really hard to be like animated about a centrist position, you know, like how are you supposed to have any kind of charisma or fire people up with a centrist platform? And I understand that that can be a little bit tricky, right? Like, I think that's a big part of the reason why we have Donald Trump as our president today because he was so fringe and he was so loud and outspoken about it and people hadn't seen anything like that. And what we tend to see is that the two ends of the the bell curve, that's where, you know, the people are the loudest. And that's where you can go viral. And that's where you can get all the headlines, right? People in the middle are kind of
Starting point is 01:38:59 boring. But that is, unless we change something, that is the nature of our electoral system right now. And also, although Michigan is set to be a bellwether for the rest of the country, there is no question that Bernie's endorsements do matter. And Rokana said it himself. He said, I mean, there's the Pope, then there's Obama, and then there's Bernie. Bernie is highly influential, and they can pretend that he's not all they want is just not true. So, Was, what are your thoughts? I know we covered a lot of stuff, but let me just get your overall thoughts there. I'm actually heartened by this because we all know that basically since Trump won again,
Starting point is 01:39:41 that the Democratic Party establishment has been made wholly. irrelevant. I shouldn't say irrelevant, excuse me. They've been discredited. They have no credibility with the base of the party anymore. And that Hock Jeffries would call Bernie Sanders and lecture to him about primaries and, you know, sticking with incumbents. And this person was a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Let me need a first to tell you guys something about the Congressional Black Caucus. They stink. Okay. There's some of the most reactions. Corporatists, you know, in the pockets of big money Democrats that exist in Congress. These are not people worth saving.
Starting point is 01:40:28 And everybody knows this except for the establishment. And why I would say I'm heartened by this, because if these guys had any political savvy, any political know-how whatsoever, if they weren't so out of touch, they'd be doing the opposite of what they're doing right now, they'd be co-opting this progressive wing of the party because that's who the energy is behind. Instead, they're making it their duty to be publicly in opposition to the people and the movements that have the most energy behind it from the base. So these guys are actually making themselves irrelevant. It's hilarious that they're not riding the coattails of Bernie's and AOC.
Starting point is 01:41:14 and these idiots had to be drag kicking and screaming. Some of them didn't even want to do it to endorse. Zoran Mamdani, who is probably the most popular Democrat in the freaking country right now. And they're doing the opposite of getting behind him. And so, yeah, man, like, I think this is great, honestly, that Meeks and Jeffries and Gottheimer. These guys think they got the pulse of the people who actually vote for Democratic kids. candidates, they're freaking a joke. And we'll be rid of them soon. And the last thing I'll say, like,
Starting point is 01:41:51 using Tea Party as a pejorative is so crazy to me in this instance because those people won. They got what they wanted to. Republican Party has become more conservative, more reactionary, more in line with what those people want. Why the hell would the progressives in the Democratic Party not want to emulate that and drag this freaking corporatist? just disgusting capitalist establishment to the left, where the people are at some point, there needs to be a mechanism that pulls our politics to the left for once. If one party's going extreme right every single time,
Starting point is 01:42:30 and the other party's like, we want to be mealy-mouthed and kind of be centrist or whatever. What direction is politics going to go to the right inevitably? Hello, can we have a balancing of that dynamic? and that's what, you know, the energy within the grassroots of the party right now is trying to do, and I think they're doing a pretty damn good job of it. They can try to do this Grand Platinum. Bro, I'm not convinced Grand Platinum should have dropped out of the race, to be honest.
Starting point is 01:42:56 I know his team, like the volunteers and stuff were dropping out. I'm like, man, you got this far. You might as well should roll the dice, especially if the establishment is going to try to come in and be like, or we're dictating terms after they got their butts whipped, okay, in terms of who the people wanted and who they rejected. And so, yeah, man, I'm happy these dudes are so stupid and out of touch. Yeah, it is interesting because, like, I love that we're calling them conservative Democrats now because that is exactly what they are, right?
Starting point is 01:43:29 The Democratic Party of this country is rather conservative. The fact that we even have a progressive wing of the Democratic Party is kind of silly. because it should all be that. All we want is health care for the people. And the Democrats say that they want those types of things, but they don't actually do those types of things, right? They'll give you some breadcrumbs here and there. But we watch the entire rise of fascism in this country and authoritarianism.
Starting point is 01:43:56 We watch Donald Trump and all of his lackeys and all of these terrible people take over all three branches of our government. And the Democrats just sat there being like, oh, my God, did you see that? That's ridiculous. That is my job to do. Your job is to do something about it. Okay? All I see all day is Corey Booker just tweeting about how bad things are in Washington.
Starting point is 01:44:15 He can't believe blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then he'll like start talking about his girlfriend. And it's like, Cory Booker, your job is not to talk about these things. Your job is to actually do something about these things. And so the establishment Democratic Party, they're very pro-Israel and they're not willing to break from that platform. But they're also just very happy to maintain a status quo. that is no longer working for people.
Starting point is 01:44:38 And I think the Democratic Party for a long time got by on the fact that most Americans were generally okay. Right now, nobody is okay. And it's starting to bite them. And people are looking for anyone who feels authentic, who feels real, who is not serving an entirely different country, an entirely different government. They want someone who's just going to represent them and just bite for the things that they actually want and need here in the United States. And those happen to be progressives. And those progressives are also Also younger, they're more vibrant, they are more vital, they have more life force to them, they have more fight in them, and they're much more connected to the everyday American population
Starting point is 01:45:17 than the people that we currently have in Washington. And that is why everyone is under threat, okay? So yeah, let's see how that goes for the Democrats if they continue to fight the progressive wing of this country. It's not a threat, it's just like it is what it is, okay? We're gonna take another break, we'll be right back. Hey guys, we're going to check out a few of your comments before we go on to our last stories. Let's see, over on YouTube, the member comments, we have Major Blood 77, says the best part of religion is weak people can just live like savages and then repent and feel safe.
Starting point is 01:47:09 Religion just lets people behave without morals. Yeah, and they like to fall back on those morals as if that is how they live. But it proves otherwise. And the breaker of walls 9036 points out. that Haley Stevens actually did say this. She said, Israel comes to me in my dreams. You're running for the American Senate. You're running for the US here for Michiganders. What are you doing? Dreaming about Israel, you weirdo. Welcome back to the show. We have another story for you before we get to our bonus episode. And then we have a couple of, I think they're lighter stories. We'll see. They can kind of go either way these days, you know. So one more story. Let's get right into it. When it comes to Benjamin Netanyahu, we're speaking about someone who's the subject of an
Starting point is 01:48:16 international criminal court arrest warrant. And he's the subject of this arrest warrant for alleged crimes against humanity, for war crimes, and he's the architect of the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza as Israel's prime minister. These are not facts of my personal assessment. They are facts of public record. And I believe that when someone is charged with an international criminal court warrant, It's something that should be taken seriously, whether it's Benjamin Netanyahu or it's Vladimir Putin or
Starting point is 01:48:44 whomever else. All right. Well, John Fetterman, who by the way, in case you forgot, is still a senator, he had some words for New York City mayor, Zoran Mamdani regarding Mamdani's expressed interest in having Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested, should he ever touch down in New York? Netanyahu is expected to be in New York in September. So the Democratic senator, John Fetterman, he had this to say about Mamdani. He said, well, he's such a tough guy to say that kind of thing.
Starting point is 01:49:16 He has no way to do that. Of course, obviously, America is not even part of that corrupt court. And he said that to Maria Barty Romo on Fox News. And when he said the corrupt court, he was talking about the international criminal court, the ICC, in the Hague. Okay, that's what he's talking about right now, the Democratic Party, as well as the Republicans, have positioned themselves as anti the ICC. When you're on the other side of the Hague, you're probably on the wrong side of history.
Starting point is 01:49:45 I think that's just like generally an okay statement for me to make. Okay. So the ICC has issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu. They did this back in 2024 for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Palestine. I don't need to give you the details on all that because this audience knows exactly why this arrest warrant has been out for him. Of course, these allegations, Netanyahu has denied them. He said they're not doing any kind of genocide. He's saying they're being so nice to the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Starting point is 01:50:17 They're doing everything they can to just, you know, prevent genocide from happening to the Israeli people because of October 7th. That's what he's saying. Okay. So back when Mamdani was on the campaign trail, this did come up. Mamdani has himself accused Netanyahu and the IDF of committing genocide in Gaza. And while he was running for mayor, he said that if it came to it, if Netanyahu or someone like Putin was ever in New York City while he was mayor, he would perhaps order the NYPD to arrest them per the ICC warrant. So in response, Netanyahu called him a terrorist. It's so unoriginal. Okay. And he said, I think the problem is that he doesn't recognize and he doesn't care that those who hate the Jews and Israel ultimately hate America.
Starting point is 01:51:04 Untrue, just like just these people live in Loonieland. It's just not the case, okay? More recently, though, Netanyahu has said that the only reason Momdani is even talking about this is because he is trying to distract from his own failed policies in New York. Failed policies where? I don't know. I don't see them. So this is what they said, though.
Starting point is 01:51:25 In a statement, the prime minister's office called the ICC, which issued the arrest warrant for Netanyahu in 2024, a kangaroo court. that has no jurisdiction over Americans or Israelis, and they accuse Mamdani of seeking to distract the public from his own failed policies. The ICC's bogus arrest warrant against Prime Minister Netanyahu was issued by a disgraced former ICC prosecutor, Karim Khan, a few days before allegations of sexual misconduct against him became public. And he continued, it was a clear attempt by Khan to divert public attention and seek protection from scrutiny. So Bibi's office said that they were doing their best to minimize harm to civilians while taking out Hamas after that. And they said more, they said instead of backing Khan's criminal behavior, Mr. Mamdani should focus on fixing the damage his policies have caused in New York. Like Karim Khan, Mamdani appears interested in diverting public attention from his follies and attacking the leader of the Jewish state and the only democracy in the Middle East.
Starting point is 01:52:30 it said of the ICC chief prosecutor who filed the charges against Netanyahu and Yeov-Galant. So what's interesting is they didn't bother to cite any of Mamdani's actually failed policies because I don't think he's even been in office long enough to have had any. Like there would not have been enough time for him to have implemented some kind of policy and then we all watched it fail. Like these things take time. Okay. So it's just it's just pointless.
Starting point is 01:52:58 It's just a dumb racist argument. And they call them a re, like whatever. So there are questions as to whether or not Mamdani as a mayor even has the authority to make such an arrest. The ICC, as they said, does not have jurisdiction in the United States. And also New York governor, Kathy Hochel, as well as some legal experts have said that Mamdani does not have the power to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu. And of course, Donald Trump has stepped in to defend his friend Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump says that Netanyahu will not be arrested. when he visits New York in September.
Starting point is 01:53:31 And by the way, before I get to you, Was, I just want to remind people the reason why Nangyahu is expected to come to New York City in September is he's coming to attend a United Nations General Assembly. This man is coming to the UN General Assembly, just let that sink in. Was, what do you make of that? Yeah, I mean, it's not surprising that the people who essentially have a a monopoly on all the power in our country would do what they do to protect
Starting point is 01:54:04 Benjamin and Yahoo. That's not surprising. I just, you know, I just think it's admirable that Mom Dani sees it as his job to express where he stands morally. And some people might say, oh, this is just attention seeking or, you know, it's just a
Starting point is 01:54:21 troll or whatever on his part because he can't actually get the NYPD or the feds or somebody like that to arrest this guy. But I do think it's important to state clearly where you stand and to bring attention to, you know, the atrocities that have been committed under this guy's rule. Like, we're talking about tens of thousands of children murdered under this guy's rule. Like, just let that sink in. You know what I mean? And so, yeah, I think it's great that he would give a public microphone to that.
Starting point is 01:54:59 to those atrocities to what many people are calling a genocide. And so, you know, I'm not surprised that Trump would step in like this. I mean, think about it, bro. Like, he got hundreds of millions of dollars from pro-Israeli, you know, interests that backed his campaign for president. Like, allegedly he's partying people for like $2 million a pop. Like the idea that he wouldn't use his office to protect his boy. Benjamin and Yahoo is like, come on, of course.
Starting point is 01:55:32 That's in line with everything he's done. All of the corruption, it's in perfect symmetry. Yeah. And the fact that they're dogging people like Zoran Mamdani about this, and even Abdul al-Sayed, okay, like these are not people in the executive branch. This is, especially in Mondani's case, he is the mayor of a city. And he seems to also understand that it might be difficult for him as a mayor to get this done. He said that he's exploring his options.
Starting point is 01:55:58 But he said, yeah, like, this is above me. This is from the ICC. This is an international criminal court. And the, like, the ICC happened later. But they're in the Hague. Like, what is the imagery that comes from that? Those are the people who prosecuted the Nazis, you know, during the Nuremberg trials. So it's really just like that is what the United States government, the Republicans and Democrats at this point,
Starting point is 01:56:22 John Federman is John Federman, but there are other Democrats who feel this way. They're saying, you know, the Hague is a sham. The ICC is a sham. We don't recognize that authority, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, because they want to so much be in line with Benjamin Netanyahu. And we are in line with them, okay? Like, all of our money is doing the things that Benjamin Netanyahu is doing. He's able to do what he's doing because of all of our money, because of all of our
Starting point is 01:56:50 weaponry, because we are enabling him, okay? He has the backing of the largest country in the world, like one of the most, powerful countries in the world, not the largest. And he knows that, right? So he can just do whatever he wants. And if he's incriminated, then we all are incriminated. And they can't let that happen, unfortunately. I did want to get to one of your comments real quick before we break for the bonus episode. Socrates bartender said, did Yaz just do a Hamilton adjacent joke? Or is that just in all of our brains now? I don't remember doing a Hamilton adjacent joke. I don't know what I said. It could have been anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if I did because, yeah, it is just like
Starting point is 01:57:31 all in your head. Like, I don't know what I like, was it in the room where it happened. Got a little burn. I don't know. No, that's usher. That was the usher burn. That's, that's a, that's great. Sorry. It's the wrong. It's the wrong burn. So let me check a few more of your comments before we go because I didn't get a lot of time to read them during the break. Dusty G-21323 says, we have yet to dictate the terms in Iran though, bro. We don't even have CIA greyhounds on ground there yet. They're still bombing and talking. Nothing is happening.
Starting point is 01:58:07 Gas is down? I don't know. Is gas down because it's going back up, right? So Donald Trump, he said, you know, sometimes he was confronted about the affordability crisis on camera. And he said, yeah, you know what? prices might go back up because I'm going to continue to do things in the Middle East and the prices are going to go up and people are going to have to deal with that. And he said that in response to a question about the affordability crisis. So right now the prices are going, the gas prices
Starting point is 01:58:35 are going back up. And I was on the damage report this morning and it showed there was a direct negative correlation between the prices of gas going up even by just like 10 cents and less approval for whatever party or president is in office at the time. So gas prices are very, very fickle, both economically, but also politically. And the Republican Party should be very wary of that, but Donald Trump really seems to not be bothered about any of that right now. GMac 8852 says a lot of civilians and military have been killed and injured because of this nonsense. Unfortunately, many more will be killed and injured. And yeah, especially there's no accountability anywhere. Okay, he's been wanted by Netanyahu, who's been wanted by the, the ICC for a very long time
Starting point is 01:59:22 since 2024. And it doesn't sound like a very long time on the surface. But when you consider, as was mentioned, tens of thousands of children and adults are being killed indiscriminately. There is history being destroyed. There is land that is being destroyed and bombed. It's devastating. So every day that this continues, every single day that this goes on, it is devastating. for those people over there. All of the money that is being spent, all of our money that could be so much better spent, doing literally anything else besides destroying things, it's a waste. It's all just a complete waste.
Starting point is 01:59:58 And it's crazy to think that this has been going on since 2024. And we still haven't been able to get a handle on it. In fact, we just continue to enable it. And this is from Joe Biden into Donald Trump. So both parties are complicit in this. And at the time, even when the Democrats were in power, We were still speaking out against this. Okay, so it's not like this is a Republican only issue.
Starting point is 02:00:22 There are a lot of Democrats that are actively supporting this. And this is why so many of them are getting primaried by other more progressive Democrats. And that is why those progressive Democrats are winning so many of their elections, not localized either, across the entire country we are seeing this. And the Democrats really don't like to win elections, it would seem, because if they wanted to win elections and win seats and win power, then they would just let this happen. Okay, they would notice that these progressives are actually promising the American people, the things that they want to hear.
Starting point is 02:00:57 Hopefully they'll follow through. Okay, we can only know that once these people actually get into office and we can see what kind of leaders they actually are. But these are people who are actually speaking to the American people. Meanwhile, the conservative Democrats, as we now call them, the establishment Democrats, they are busy just trying to run interference, I would really rather if they just actually governed and did their jobs instead of trying to fight other Democrats right now. The progressives, though, we do have to fight. We've been having to fight. We've had to fight to have our voice
Starting point is 02:01:28 heard. We've had to fight on behalf of the American people so that people are actually being represented in our representative democracy of a government. Okay? Like, that was the whole point of all this. And it's finally happening. And the people that we're having to struggle against the most are other Democrats. And unfortunately, I would like to say that this is surprising, but it is not. We knew that this was going to happen. We knew that we were going to have to fight the establishment Dems who are in Congress, people like Hakeem Jeffries and Corey Booker. But we also know that we were going to have to fight people like Jake Tapper, you know, and the mainstream everyday media that regular everyday Americans are consuming. So hopefully we get
Starting point is 02:02:09 more people over on networks like this one. And I think that that is. starting to happen. So on that note, we're going to wrap this first hour and we'll see you in the bonus episode. All right, we're back.
