Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to The Young Turks, the online news show. Make sure to follow and rate our show with not one, not two, not three, not four, but five stars. You're awesome. Thank you. All right, welcome to the Young Turks, Jake Ugarana Kusparian with you guys. I wish I could say we had good news for you, but we don't. We have lots of bad news for you today. So Trump has gone on a rampage and none of it is positive. The Palestinians are an enormous victim, we'll tell you about that in a second.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Well, nonsense, ludicrous, lunatic talk about sending U.S. citizens to Al Salvador. And I mean, is the entire FBI going to be fired? We're going to find out sued. And if all of that wasn't bad enough, leaden back in the water for your kids. Yay. We're going to do that story on Thursday, remember? Oh, is that right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Okay, all right. Well, so then tune in for that on Thursday. There's been so much breaking news. We have to shuffle things around. As the day progresses, as more and more news stories break. But we will get that story to you all on Thursday. So keep a lookout for that. All right, let's do the news.
Starting point is 00:01:38 All right, let's begin with some pretty devastating news for Palestinians who have dealt with over a year of their family members getting slaughtered, of their homes, their schools, their universities, their hospitals getting pulverized. Now they're hearing that the president of the United States will aid in about the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. You can't live in Gaza right now, and I think we need another location. I think it should be a location that's going to make people happy. If we can get a beautiful area to resettle people permanently in nice homes
Starting point is 00:02:13 and where they can be happy and not be shot, not be killed, not be knife to death, like what's happening in Gaza, I don't think people should be going back to Gaza. When Palestinians have the right to return to Gaza, if they left while the rebuilding was happening. It would be my hope that we could do something really not. really good where they wouldn't want to return. How many people are you thinking about? All of them. Few things are more humiliating than the United States getting dog walked,
Starting point is 00:02:42 the president of the United States getting dog walked by a foreign leader. And in this case, as is usually the case here in the United States, Benjamin and Yahoo, the prime minister of Israel, smirks as Donald Trump does his dirty work. His dirty bidding in promising to ethnically cleanse the Gaza Strip of Palestinians, forcing them off their land and essentially pressuring neighboring countries, particularly Egypt, to absorb them as refugees. Yeah, so first of all, yeah, he had that sly smile on his face the whole time, Netanyahu, like he just ate a bird, but also he looked like he was a ventriloquist.
Starting point is 00:03:21 And meanwhile, the puppet is talking. And so we just exchanged puppets, that's all that happened. And I told you that Trump would be worse than even Biden, who was horrific. And so, and we told you that they had a deal. And that's why Netanyahu did that so-called ceasefire as soon as Trump came in. And the deal is, yeah, I destroyed Gaza. Now you use it as an excuse to expel all the Palestinians. And you help us with the ethnic cleansing.
Starting point is 00:03:51 So there you go. exactly as ordered by his boss, Trump came in and was like, yeah, dear, I'll do everything you ask. Even more pathetic than Joe Biden. Let's be clear about it. So this was during a press conference between Netanyahu and Donald Trump. This was a long planned press conference. Now, here is Trump stating that Palestinians would love to leave Gaza because he would know what's in their hearts and minds better than they do. and that they have absolutely no other alternative but to leave Gaza. Take a look. I feel very differently about Gaza than a lot of people.
Starting point is 00:04:30 I think they should get a good, fresh, beautiful piece of land. And we get some people to put up the money to build it and make it nice and make it habitable and enjoyable. Somewhere else. But you say they don't want to leave, though. How can you say they don't want to leave? I don't know how they could want to stay. It's a demolition site. That amount to forcibly displacing those people from Gaza.
Starting point is 00:04:53 I don't think if they had the opportunity they'd love me, if they had an alternative together, they have no alternative right now. I mean, they're there because they have no alternative. What do they have? It is a big pile of rubble. Right, it is, it is a big pile of rubble. Why? Why is the Gaza Strip a big pile of rubble?
Starting point is 00:05:16 Could it be due to the terrorist you're sitting next to, the prime minister of Israel? Could it be that that guy is the one who led the effort in essentially destroying the entirety of the Gaza Strip, killing tens of thousands of people, most of whom were innocent civilians, women, children, elderly people? And we're gonna pressure other countries to absorb Palestinian, help ethnically cleanse Gaza of Palestinians and essentially settle them as refugees and other neighboring countries. By the way, the neighboring countries, including Egypt, not interested, but when the pause on foreign aid was announced, remember there were two exceptions, and those two exceptions were Israel, of course. American taxpayers are the personal
Starting point is 00:06:01 ATM machines for the Israeli people and Israeli government. There's no question about that. But there was also foreign aid continuing to flow to Egypt. Why? Maybe that's a part of the bribery that the United States wants to engage in in order to convince Egypt, you know, to take Palestinians in. Well, it's part of a piece that they made. And so the only reason Egypt's getting a dime is because Israel authorized it. Otherwise, they would never get anything. Now understand the Middle East has no funding from America anymore at all except Israel.
Starting point is 00:06:32 So all their competitors wiped off the board. Now they don't, this is just a literal fact. And you can catch all sorts of emotions about it if you like, okay? You can catch them on both sides. But we now, Israel went from being the country that we gave the most aid to, to being the only country we give aid to. And along with Egypt, only because Israel ordered it. So now they have all of our aid. And now we're canceling aid to the UN, to everyone else that might ever think about helping Palestinians.
Starting point is 00:07:09 So what did you get? You got America first? No, you didn't. You got America second at best. Israel is always first. And by the way, if you're a Democrat, don't tell me that, oh, you're outraged by this. No, they love it. Okay, because Joe Biden did the same goddamn thing. And all we heard from, I don't mean Democratic voters, Democratic officials, leadership, etc. Oh, it's great. Israel, Israel, we love you, we will obey you, no matter what. And what did Biden give them over $20 billion? We've now given over $300 billion. to Israel, okay, when do we get our end of this deal?
Starting point is 00:07:45 This is, and I don't, again, this is, you can catch all kinds of feelings about this, I don't give it, goddamn, I'm tired of this robbery. They bribe our officials through so-called campaign contributions. The aidosis have given $337 million to Donald Trump, Sheldon and Miriam, and they bought him on behalf of Israel, that is an undeniable fact. Anyone who is lunatic enough to say, no, I bet Trump's not affected by the $337 million. I bet Biden wasn't affected by the 11 million he got from APEC. I bet none of the politicians were affected by over $100 million that APEC spent in this election.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Oh, yeah. Oh, are they bought by Israel? That sounds so outrageous and offensive. No, the ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinians, it is what is deeply offensive. The fact that all of our presidents are bought is deeply offensive. So MAGA, enjoy America second. should be, his words, cleaned out. Now, additionally, Trump made it very clear
Starting point is 00:09:15 who's running or calling the shots when it comes to foreign policy related to the Middle East. And you're gonna get a little taste of that in this next clip. So talk to the President with Prime Minister Netanyang today. Do you intend to impress him about how many deaths are vener to Palestinians?
Starting point is 00:09:31 Are you concerned about that death? I talk about that too. Both sides mean a lot. I talk about that. I talk about the other side. I'm gonna talk about everything. What's your main message to him today during your meeting? Well, I'm here to listen.
Starting point is 00:09:45 He's here to see me and I'm here to listen, so. He's here to see me and I'm here to listen. Yeah. I'm here to listen to my boss, okay, the person who calls the shots, especially when it comes to what happens to Palestinians, the fate of the Palestinians, the land in the Middle East, the decisions I make about Middle East foreign policy, it is so utterly disgusting.
Starting point is 00:10:08 But this is what we're dealing with, right? I mean, the bribery is a huge problem. It impacts both parties, but you're right, Biden didn't go as far as Trump is willing to go in aiding and abetting the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. But I just wanna take a quick moment to talk about what Biden did do. Because Biden refused to use his leverage. He refused to withhold American weapons and military aid to Israel until Israel agreed to a ceasefire. When you don't use any sticks at all, there is no incentive to bring Israel to the negotiating
Starting point is 00:10:43 table in good faith to actually sign a ceasefire deal. So his mess bled into the new Trump administration, thus allowing Trump to do whatever he pleases. Yeah, so that was wonderfully pathetic, as he said, big bad, tough guy Donald Trump. Oh, nobody's the boss of Donald Trump, he'll do whatever he wants. And he said, oh, I'm, I will, I'm here to listen. I'm going to listen, Benjamin. Please keep sending the money.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Oh, Trump, pathetic. I'm here to listen. I'm here to listen. Yeah, why don't you send another $300 billion of our money to your overlords? So come on, man, there's not a person in the country that isn't a moron or a mainstream media reporter who doesn't realize that Washington, D.C. is occupied territory. It is totally owned and controlled by Israel. And so if you deny that, you're denying reality.
Starting point is 00:11:44 And so now Trump's saying, oh, we said somewhere to go. I bet they'd love to go. That's not 1% true. Yeah, why do we talk to the people who lost their homes in the Pacific Palisades? Because I recall Donald Trump, you know, calling out Mayor Karen Bass in Los Angeles for not allowing homeowners in the Pacific Palisades to access their lots. They wanted to access their lots right away. Well, why?
Starting point is 00:12:08 Why don't we just clean out the Pacific Palisades? You know, and there's nothing left. There's nothing left. Why don't we just find some other fresh plot of land? It'll be so beautiful. Why would they want to go back to their homes? And you know, maybe we send them to Guadalajara, or maybe we're going to say we'll send them to El Salvador.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Who cares about them? And maybe if somebody attacks Texas and destroys Austin or Houston or Dallas, we'll go, oh, it's already destroyed. And my God, if Israel did it, it would be allowed. I mean, God help us if Israel decides to attack us, because it would be totally allowed. No one would dare object in Washington because the bribes keep flowing in through campaign contributions from APEC and the Edelson's and everything else. It is disgusting. No, they don't want to go anywhere else.
Starting point is 00:12:57 That's their home. You tell somebody in the middle of Texas, that's all right. The Mexicans or the Israelis or whoever the hell. bombed your home, killed your family, but that's all right. We got you a beautiful place for you. Fresh start in El Salvador, go for it. Okay, what would they do? What would they do?
Starting point is 00:13:13 Everybody watching knows what the people of Texas would do. They would fight back against the colonial, imperial sons of bitches that destroyed their houses and their family. But if the Palestinians ever dared to fight back, terrible savages, they're the violent ones. No, Israel destroyed Gaza. The Gaza didn't destroy Israel. Israel is Goliath destroying everything in its path. Not innocent little victim, my ass, not 1% victim.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Israel, it loves this and loves bringing, and playing along with our presidents. Then Yahoo comes, he gets standing ovations from all the corrupt Republicans and Democrats kneeling before him. And then he plays puppeteer with Biden, Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, and then I will listen to it. That's Donald Trump for you. Okay, where's the tough guy? Nowhere to be found as long as the money's flowing. are worth talking about, and this is what the United States assisted Israel in doing. Today, today Donald Trump signed an executive order to withdraw from the UN Human Rights Council,
Starting point is 00:14:48 also withdraw from UNRWA funding, of course, helped to provide humanitarian relief to the Palestinian people, and he wants a review of American involvement and funding in the UN, thus signaling that he would like to pull American support out of the United Nations. Now Politico obtained a fact sheet from the Trump White House that reads as follows. The UNHRC has demonstrated consistent bias against Israel, focusing on it unfairly and disproportionately in council proceedings. In 2018, the year President Trump withdrew from UNHRC in his first administration. The organization passed more resolutions condemning Israel than Syria, Iran, and North Korea combined. Now, Elise Stefanik, another stooge of the Israeli government, says that, you know,
Starting point is 00:15:40 is Trump's nominee for ambassador to the United Nations? And she wrote on X, today's executive order is the correct action by President Trump to deliver America first, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, you get the point. We are bought. America first, what a joke you are. This is not America first. How is this America first? Because they think Israel is above America.
Starting point is 00:15:59 So when you say that we're giving all of our. money to Israel and we're cutting funding to anyone who might help the people that Israel slaughtered viciously killed their children, their grandmothers, their aunts and uncles. But if you are there to try to help those people 1% America first, of course by America first, I mean Israel first, and America maybe 87th whenever we allow it, okay? So look guys, if you don't, if you're gonna complain about tropes or whatever BS, well then don't do them. Yeah, don't, don't slaughter just people. Just don't, don't slaughter entire families. Don't bomb hospitals. Don't bomb refugee camps. Don't kill people after you've told them, hey,
Starting point is 00:16:42 this is where you can evacuate to for a safe zone and then drop 2,000 pound bombs on those refugees. If you don't like tropes, then don't live by them, okay? Because that's what we saw in Gaza, this entire time. It is unbelievable to me. Look, it's just, it's an effort to shut people up and make people pretend as though they're not seeing what they're seeing with their own eyes. They're not hearing what they're hearing with their own ears. We all saw it, guys. We all saw it. They tried to shut down TikTok to ensure that young people weren't sharing footage of what was happening on the ground in Gaza. Make sure that you have the PR going for you, as Mitt Romney said. He said the Israelis are great at PR. But now we're going to have to
Starting point is 00:17:24 shut down TikTok because they're losing the PR battle. Because now the world is objecting to them murdering Palestinian child after child after child, crushing their heads with the concrete that falls on them when they put the, drop the bombs on their buildings, burning them alive. Oh, why is TikTok, why are America's citizens allowed to show that? Don't they know that Israel's in charge of America and all of our media? If you don't want the trope, then don't goddamn do it. Because don't tell me that mainstream media doesn't kiss Israel's ass and pretend that they're the victims when they slaughtered and genocide in all of Gaza.
Starting point is 00:18:01 So one of the worst genocides I have ever seen in my lifetime. So anyone still debated, oh, is it a genocide? Oh, I don't know. My feelings are hurt if you call it a genocide. I don't care, man, 62,000 dead now in Gaza. I think that their feelings and their lives were worth a thousand times your feelings. Their lives, their lives are worth a thousand times your feelings. So no, no, oh, don't say it, don't say it.
Starting point is 00:18:26 No, I'm saying it, and you're not going to stop me from saying it. I don't care if it's a Republican or a Democrat. This government works totally on behalf of Israel and not the U.S. citizens. Where's my goddamn $300 billion? Why doesn't Israel pay us back if there's such a great ally? No, always take, take, take, take, take, and never give. So let's talk about the death toll. And I should note that these figures are still an underestimate.
Starting point is 00:18:52 because now that there's a ceasefire, now that they're starting to clear some of the rubble, they're discovering dead bodies. Some people have been missing for so long, they're presumed to be dead. So drop site news recently reported on this saying that Gaza government media office, the death toll from the war has surpassed 61,709 people including 47,487, whose bodies have reached hospitals while 14,222 remain missing under the rubble or on the roads. Here are some additional details. The number of injured individuals has risen to 111,588. More than 6,000 detainees have been arrested by the occupation,
Starting point is 00:19:37 subjected to severe abuse and torture with dozens killed under torture. In fact, there was evidence that some of them were being raped. by the Israeli prison guards and when there was an effort to investigate those rapes, the Israeli settlers were very upset about that and went into a complete rage and demanded that the Israeli government prevent any type of investigation into Israeli prison guards raping Palestinian detainees. There's more. Over 2 million people have been forcibly displaced, some more than 25 times in conditions lacking basic necessities. This means 8% of Gaza's population has been directly impacted by the genocide.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Now Jeremy Scahill of Dropsite News reports that the conservative Gaza death toll from the US facilitated war against the Palestinians of Gaza continues to rise as people returning to their neighborhoods discover mass graves and people buried under the rubble or killed and their bodies left at the scene. So the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel still holds. for now, but during the press conference between Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump, honestly, that did not inspire confidence that the C-Spire will hold. I feel, based on what Netanyahu himself was saying, he was hinting that as soon as all
Starting point is 00:21:01 the hostages are returned, no, no, we're going to continue. No, they're taking Gaza, guys, keep it real. They're definitely taking northern Gaza. Maybe they're going to take all of Gaza. No, they're going to take all of Gaza. Why do you think that they were supported Trump so much? That's what we explained to you guys. I said, look, why, you know, to vote for Kamala Harris was painful because she said that
Starting point is 00:21:26 the ethnic cleansing was no big deal and that we should keep funding Israel's genocide of Palestinians. So why was, but how could Trump have been worse? Because I, we told you, we reported it here. The Israeli papers were already reporting that Miriam Edelson paid Trump to, you. to make sure that Israel could annex more Palestinian land. And then Netanyahu is like, bends over backwards to help Trump in every way before the election and after the election.
Starting point is 00:21:56 You think he's doing that out of the goodness of his heart? No one could be that unbelievably naive. No, they have a deal. And the deal is you're going to let us steal this land. You're gonna let us finish the job. And that's what Trump would say, remember, during the campaign, he said they should finish the job. Finish the job means finish the genocide, kill as many of them as you want, do it with our money, and we won't help them one inch.
Starting point is 00:22:23 After you slaughter them, we're going to make sure that they can't get treated for disease or get any food until they're all starving. And maybe you could put, you want to talk about camps, that's camps. Gaza is a giant concentration camp run by the state of Israel. Inarguable. And now Trump's saying, well, it's such a terrible. concentration camp and Israel slaughtered them all. So why don't we just move him somewhere else and steal their homes? And Jared Kushner talked about it earlier before the election.
Starting point is 00:22:52 So Gaza's got great waterfront property. So Trump and Kushner and Natyahu and all those guys will probably make a lot of money from this genocide. So for people supporting Israel, I hope you're proud. And by the way, there's no one in my lifetime that has driven up anti-Semitism more than Benjamin Netanyahu. And the whoever comes in second is like a million miles behind. Net Yahoo is making the whole world despise Israel. Let's take a break. When we come back, we'll visit whatever the hell is happening here domestically.
Starting point is 00:23:43 All right, back on TYT, Jank and Anna with you guys. And Catlow, thank you for gifting five young tourist memberships on YouTube. Dono said at t.t.com. Listen, Jake, you and I know Biden, Kamala, and the DNC didn't do a damn thing to stop Israel. That's right, that's why we said it three or four times in that story. So no one is innocent here. Almost all the politicians are deeply, deeply correct. They love their bribes, and they serve Israel first, except Bernie Sanders and a couple of others who have been wonderful human beings trying to stop this madness.
Starting point is 00:24:22 All right. You know, I'll admit something that was super naive. I was hoping that one of Trump's questionable qualities, his massive ego, would maybe work out to the benefit of the Palestinians in this case. because Donald Trump doesn't like to be humiliated. But I guess if the price is right, he'll do it. He'll do anything if the price is right. Yeah. It's so, look, guys, it's so embarrassing to see an American president.
Starting point is 00:24:52 I mean, one president after another, like lining up, lining up to be humiliated by another foreign leader. Like, it disgusts me. I think by the end, Netanyahu might actually literally put him over his knee. And if Trump says anything that he doesn't approve of, just spank him on national. I mean, that's what I, that's what I see when I look at that press conference. Yeah, so if you're maga, that's one of the most embarrassing things that's ever happened to your leader. Are you gonna sit there and take it? Yeah, you probably will. Okay, you go, yeah, well, I got an excuse. I got an excuse. Israel's a special ally, whatever the hell that means.
Starting point is 00:25:24 That's why they were allowed to take 300 billion off of us. Oh, don't send a dollar to help AIDS or malaria. But Israel 300 billion right away, right away, 900 billion. It doesn't matter. It's not our money, it's Israel's money, right? Right? So anyway, you guys get it. Let's go. All right. Let's talk about what's happening over at the FBI. I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution. I am your retribution. Well, revenge does take time. I will say that.
Starting point is 00:25:55 It does. And sometimes revenge can be justified. You know, it's a terrible, terrible path that they're leading us to. And it's very possible that it's going to have to happen to them. Well, it appears that the wheels toward retaliation are already moving, spinning, because the FBI has now provided the Justice Department the names of 5,000 FBI employees who worked on cases related to January 6th. Now, the demand for that information has led to utter panic among FBI employees who suspect that their jobs are on the line, who suspect that they will soon be terminated, and their right to be concerned. According to CNN, acting deputy attorney general Emil Bove in a Friday memo with the subject
Starting point is 00:26:45 line terminations had given FBI officials a noon deadline Tuesday to submit the details of thousands of agents and analysts. Bov previously ordered the firing of eight senior FBI officials, including those who oversaw cyber national security and criminal investigations. Both also wrote that upon receipt of the requested information, the office of the deputy attorney general will commence a review process to determine whether any additional personnel actions are necessary. Now thousands of FBI agents are in fact impacted by this.
Starting point is 00:27:23 I mentioned that 5,000 agents and their information has been sent over to the DOJ. And more than 5,000 employee details were submitted, including employee ID numbers, job titles, and their role in the January 6th investigation, sources said. But not their names. There are more than 13,000 agents and 38,000 total FBI employees, which is interesting. 5,000 out of 13,000 FBI agents worked on January 6 related investigations. But we don't know if they were all working on January 6th simultaneously or if they were staggered in these investigations. Now, last month, the DOJ fired more than a dozen officials who worked on the federal criminal investigations into Donald Trump, including the classified documents case and the federal investigation into election interference.
Starting point is 00:28:17 Several unnamed FBI employees have now entered a class action lawsuit against the Justice Department. department. And this suit is essentially accusing the DOJ of violating both the Constitution and privacy laws by demanding agents complete a survey that they allege is designed to purge the bureau's personnel. They're worried that the personal information disclosed in the surveys will later be released to the public. And the reason why they're doing this lawsuit is because they want a federal judge to step in to ensure that that information is blocked from being released to the public. The survey questions included detailed information about the positions at the Bureau, and
Starting point is 00:29:05 specific roles in January 6th investigations, including whether they executed arrests, whether they participated in grand jury investigations, or if they testified at any trials. And according to the wording of the suit, the very act of compiling lists of persons who worked on matters that upset Donald Trump is retaliatory in nature, intended to intimidate FBI agents and other personnel and to discourage them from reporting any future malfeasance and by Donald Trump and his agents. So we'll see where the suit goes. They're hoping a federal judge will protect them from having their personal information
Starting point is 00:29:47 released to the public. But in addition to that class action lawsuit, lawyers and prosecutors and FBI agents wrote to the DOJ denouncing the possible dismissal of employees who worked on Trump-related investigations, calling it a violation of due process. They also threatened to take legal action. The letter says, if you proceed with terminations and or public exposure of terminated employees' identities, we stand ready to vindicate their rights through all available legal means. And the letter also warns that should names of the agents become public, they would be subject to immediate risk of doxing, swatting, harassment, or possibly worse. Yeah, disastrous idea. And here we go. All right, so guys, look, first of all, I'm not at all
Starting point is 00:30:38 surprised. And so why are people surprised? Number one, a lot of the media that they watched didn't told them that Kamala Harris was going to win. And so they didn't realize that Trump was going to win. So they're flabbergasted by that. So the second thing is, yeah, they said, oh, Trump's the boogeyman, et cetera, et cetera. But even they didn't really believe it. And so I guess the viewers of mainstream media and some other shows didn't believe it either. I believed it. And so that's why we took action a year and a half ago here to try to make sure Biden got out of the race so we could win this race because we knew things like this would happen. Because when Trump says he's going to do something like this, he does it. So I don't know why everybody keeps being surprised.
Starting point is 00:31:25 You didn't think he'd go after the people who investigated him? He's Donald Trump, the thinnest skin alive, right, of any man. And he hates people who targeted. him and he targets them back. Now, and did you think he was going to do it proportionately? I don't know why the people who opposed Trump thought that he would be rational when he got into office. So I have never understood that. So that's why I never understand when all the cable news hosts are like, oh my God, no one
Starting point is 00:31:57 expected this. And why were you all forklempt about him earlier then? Was he going to be a fascist dula or wasn't he? So if you thought he was going to do fascism, why would you be surprised? by this. This is like, this is what you would do. You would fire anyone in law enforcement who would enforce the law against you, right? So, so Anna, I don't know that they're going to fire all 5,000. Well, yeah, I was going to weigh in on that because, look, I'm not an expert on the FBI. So I will say as a civilian who's looking at those numbers, 13,000 FBI agents
Starting point is 00:32:33 sounds like a lot of agents. But you can't, yeah. But I don't know, maybe that makes sense. There's a total of 38,000 FBI employees, but of those employees, 13,000 or agents, if they fire 5,000 of the 13,000 FBI agents, I mean, that's gonna be difficult to replace. Yeah, so what do I think Trump's actually going to do? Okay, that's a very important question. But there's one thing in here that I'm going to keep an eye on, probably no one else will, but we'll follow it for you guys here, which is, okay, so number one, he's going to going to huff and puff and he's going to make his base happy by saying, ah, defund the police,
Starting point is 00:33:14 defund FBI, make sure that they never get to investigate any Republican or right winger or MAGA or Trump ever again. And I know, I know MAGA thinks that they are the victims here. And that the FBI, oh my God, I can't believe they went to go get top secret information from Mara Lago's bathroom. Oh, I bet the FBI is the bad guys in that case. But okay, you put that aside, when he gets to the firing run-of-the-mill FBI agents that were given a job and did their job. And some of these guys have absolutely nothing to do with the Trump cases, right? If they go to fire them, I'm super curious. And this one I don't know. Is Maga going to go, yeah, man, oh, yeah, I hate the police. I hate law enforcement. Let the robbers run wild.
Starting point is 00:33:58 All right, great, then you'll be just like the radical left. And then you'll be telling me in a couple years, there is no crime, Jank. There is no crime in the federal government. It's a left-wing narrative, right? So we're just going to reverse roles. So we have been consistent throughout. This is a terrible plan. Okay, so what's the thing you should look out for? As I was reading these stories, I saw something that was curious in there. Some of the FBI agents work in enforcement in cyber crime. Hmm, I wonder why you would want to get rid of the agents who work to make sure there isn't cyber crime. Okay, but I'm sure the crypto guys are not up to anything bad.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Let the Silicon Valley CEOs that are in Doge, go into the Treasury. Now, by the way, new action at the SEC to legitimize crypto, okay? No, not forget legitimizing, not enforcing rules against crypto anymore, okay? Are there rules against crypto? So, no, no, the regulations to me. By the way, there's not a rule against good, that's a good question. I'm not saying generically, oh, go get crypto. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:35:06 These guys at the SEC and the guys of the FBI, their job is to make sure that if you're in crypto, you don't get robbed, you don't get ripped off by the guys at the top. Now all those cops are being fired so that the criminals, if they want to, and they haven't done it yet, as far as we know, can run wild and there'll be no law enforcement at all. They just defunded the police. But one last thing about it. So even if they don't fire all those people, and firing all those people, I think is crazy and too far and he'll pull back, is my guess. What he's doing is he's sending a message.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Nobody better investigate me or any of my allies or any of my donors. And if you do, I'm going to end your career. I'm going to take food off your family's table. And I'm going to ruin you if you try to do law enforcement during the Trump era. All right. Let's take a break. When we come back some pretty big news in regard to an executive order that would impact the Department of Education, later on in the show, we have more bad news.
Starting point is 00:36:10 So stick around, you're gonna enjoy it. All right, back on TYT, Jank Anna, Ronald Strawn, and Alan Wade. They just hit the join button, became young tourist members. We appreciate you guys. So look guys, you are us, we're you. And so if folks don't support the show, then there won't be a show. And if you do, we love you, and this is a beautiful, open-minded community. And we're so proud to have you as our audience.
Starting point is 00:36:56 And I am the Andromedon galaxy. Thank you for upgrading. That those shows of support are so important to us. And that's also through the join button. You guys are amazing. Anna. Well, the Education Department is in the Trump administration's crosshairs. Let's get into it.
Starting point is 00:37:13 President Trump finalizing plans to gut the Department of Education. Sources to LABC News, the president now weighing an executive order to direct his education secretary to submit a proposal to dismantle the agency. and call on Congress to eliminate it. To my friends who are upset, I would say with respect, you know, call somebody who cares. They better get used to this. It's USAID today. It's going to be Department of Education.
Starting point is 00:37:41 President Donald Trump is making good on one of his campaign promises, and that was to eliminate the Department of Education. Now, political reports that he intends to do so through an executive order, obviously there are going to be some obstacles in accomplishing this through an executive order, and I'll explain how in just a moment. But the EO isn't going to be signed until his education secretary nominee is confirmed. And that, of course, is Linda McMahon. So from what we know at the moment, Trump's plan to shutter the education department would come in a few different phases. So his executive order would direct the department to create a plan that would,
Starting point is 00:38:25 wind down the functions of this federal agency and its existing administrative authority. But the order was also expected to call for the agency to inventory a complex set of laws needed to delegate the department's powers to other agencies and then close the department. An acknowledgement that some of conservatives' biggest desires for change hinge on congressional approval. And this is where Trump is likely going to run into some issues with what he's trying to do here. Now, of course, Doge is involved in this. A third anonymous source that spoke to Politico revealed that representatives from the Department of Government Efficiency were working at the Education Department Headquarters on Monday of this week.
Starting point is 00:39:15 They were seeking to access records at the agency. But if the Department of Government efficiency is so worried about government waste, And there is government waste. I will concede that that's certainly true. It is a little strange. It's curious that they keep focusing on these various government agencies that receive a tiny, tiny sliver of resources from the federal government relative to what the Pentagon receives. And consider the fact that the Pentagon has failed every single audit. Seven audits in a row, they have failed every single one. They're now receiving close to a trillion dollars a year. Okay, money allocated to the Pentagon by Congress. But take a look at this.
Starting point is 00:39:57 This is the pie chart showing you where our resources went for fiscal year 2024. So the Department of Education received $229 billion. That sounds like a lot of money, but it's $229 billion of the $9.7 trillion allocated to federal agencies in 2024. Now, Senate confirmation hearings for Trump's education pick, education secretary pick. Linda McMahon hasn't been scheduled yet. Her financial disclosures and other paperwork still need to be cleared by the Office of Government Ethics. But this effort to close the education department puts her in a pretty rough spot once
Starting point is 00:40:38 those confirmation hearings happen. Common sense tells me they won't attempt to close the education department until the secretary is confirmed said another person familiar with the discussions who was granted anonymity to address sensitive information. And look, it is worth noting that there could be a silver lining here involving, I can't believe I'm saying it, congressional Republicans, because some of them are already side-eyeing these plans. And they're not necessarily in favor of shutting down the education department. And doing so, by the way, is not as easy as signing an executive order. It's much more complex. Here's why.
Starting point is 00:41:17 I don't think we need the Department of Education. I'd be fine if it didn't exist, but I can also count the 60. And to dismantle a federal department, you need an act of Congress. One of the Republican Party's platforms in 2024 is to rein in wasteful federal spending, but abolishing a federal agency doesn't automatically turn off the spending tap. All the money the Department of Education has really is the money that's authorized by Congress. All of these programs who continue to exist and get money unless Congress, voted to stop funding them.
Starting point is 00:41:49 The debate about the future of the department is symbolic. What really matters is what we decide to do about the staffing and funding of these assorted programs. And it looks like congressional approval might stand in the way of Trump getting what he wants here. Some conservatives concede they currently lack enough support for legislation to close the department and farm its core functions out to other federal agencies. But we have to wait and see what happens.
Starting point is 00:42:16 I mean, there could be a tremendous amount of pressure on these Republicans in Congress to do what Donald Trump wants. Again, we have to wait and see. But one thing that I want to just clarify for everyone, I think there's a huge misconception about what the bulk of the education department actually does, like what they focus on. When it comes to the bulk of funding that public schools receive, that actually comes from property taxes that are paid on a local level. The education department does do some work as it pertains to public schools, but most of their focus, especially when it comes to financial elements of the department, is for college students. So they provide financial relief, you know, loans, those types of things to college students. There are other things that the agency does as well, which I can get into in just a moment.
Starting point is 00:43:04 But before I do, what are your thoughts, Schenk? Yeah, so this one is another one that I'm not sure about, and I'm super curious to see what's going. to happen, I'm gonna tell you my opinion about it in a second, but I'm curious what you guys think too. Like your said, and this question really tests your optimism, pessimism, et cetera, to some degree. So whenever we're live, which is Monday through Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. Eastern, we do polls on the topics that we're talking about. It's in the chat. It's also at t.yt.com for this one and the community as well. Will the Republicans succeed in eliminating the education department? Right now, I'm at a, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:41 I think I got it at about 50-50. So number one, do I think they should? No, I oppose it, right? That's easy for me. I think education is monumentally important. Education saved my family's life. My dad was a very poor farmer in southeastern Turkey, got a free college education in the 1960s in Turkey,
Starting point is 00:44:00 became a mechanical engineer, and we got to live the American dream ultimately because of that. And so you're not going to find anyone more in favor of education than I am. So now, that doesn't mean that everything that the education department spends money on is wise. And remember that, you know, I actually want to tell you a quick divergent story here, but it's going to relate. So part of the reason why the teachers unions all backed Hillary Clinton instead of Bernie Sanders in 2016, even though Bernie Sanders was so much more in favor of unions and the teachers unions was because they were so worried that Hillary Clinton would go towards
Starting point is 00:44:42 private education if they didn't back her immediately. And she felt crossed by them. Because that's what Barack Obama did. Oh my God. They didn't come into his camp early enough. So he punished them by emphasizing private education. And so they were worried, oh my God, we're going to go more corporate, et cetera, et cetera. So that's the Democratic Party. Let's be honest about it. So if you said to me, hey, I could find one or two things in the education department that doesn't make sense, you know, funds, private education, et cetera, great. I would believe it and I would be against it. If you say, nuke the whole department, I'm totally against it.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Now as to why I'm unclear here, well, and the silver lining. And I know don't, I'm sure somebody will take it out of context, but here we go. Let me explain it in context. So Republicans have been saying my whole life that they're going to get rid of the Department of Education and they're going to do massive cuts. And so they're going to save trillions of dollars. It's not just Musk and Trump that said it. Every Republican has been saying it for decades now, right?
Starting point is 00:45:43 And they all pretend that there's trillions of dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse, et cetera. And they're going to clear that out. And why? Because they always say so we can give more tax cuts to the rich, right? So then Trump is saying the same thing. So now we're going to have it out. Are they going to be able to kill the education department or are they not? And so part of that will be determined by a Republican and they're going to need to fill a
Starting point is 00:46:03 some Democrats. That's true, right? So it's going to be difficult, very, very difficult, okay? But a lot of it is going to be determined by the reaction of the American people. My guess is they'll say, no, brother, we ask you to keep prices down. We asked you to get us out of wars. We ask you to have a very tough policy at the border. So those are, you could consider that right wing position as moderate, whatever you want. But that was very, very clear. We didn't ask you to get rid of the Department of Education. So, or they'll say, yeah, no, we love it. We love the cuts. We did ask you to get it. rid of it. So I don't know the answer. And I'm intensely curious to see what's going to happen. So I don't know the answer either. Obviously we're just speculating and we're predicting what
Starting point is 00:46:42 could happen. But what I do know is parents are upset with the public education system, even though the public education system is impacted more on a local level, right? So there are some standardized elements to our public education system coming from the top. and you know, the education department. But in reality, when it comes to funding decisions, that's actually far more localized than the Trump administration would have you believe. So part of the messaging that I have a huge issue with coming from Trump administration officials and Trump himself is they're making it appear as though the education department focuses all of its energy on public schools, but it doesn't. Now it does do some work with public schools.
Starting point is 00:47:30 So for instance, you know, again, public schools primarily, you know, a state and local responsibility, but the Department of Education does serve more than 50 million students at 130,000 public and private schools. The department provides billions to aid students with disabilities and students in low income communities. And the education department also provides financial aid for college students. So FAFSA, that's a federal thing. That's not a state or local thing, right? FFSA is what you apply to if you need financial aid, so you can actually go to college. So if you dismantle the education department, what government agency is going to handle college aid if a student wants to go to college. And by the way,
Starting point is 00:48:15 I agree with conservatives when they argue college isn't for everyone and there should be more emphasis on trade schools for some students. I agree with you on that. So emphasize the trade schools, but also provide the opportunities for people who want to go to four-year institutions to be able to do so. If you dismantle the education department, you have to have some solid answers in regard to what is going to happen to all these different services that are provided to the American people from this department. Yeah. And so I don't know that they're going to bother with answers. And so, and look, we give Trump credit sometimes for doing the optics, right? Right, right? The Democrats never know how to make their own case. Joe Biden has been murmuring for four years straight. Chuck Schumer has been murmuring for about 20 years straight, et cetera, right? There's like the world's worst messengers. And Trump puts on the outfits. Like he's like YMCA. He'll be, you know, a Native American soon with the whole, or leatherman. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:49:14 But he was a truck, you know, garbage truck driver. He was a McDonald's fries guy, et cetera. So now when we give him credit for that, we say not that we agree with them, but hey, on a messaging. way of looking at it. That's effective. So what is the message that conservatives and Trump and Magar are sending now? Whether you like it or not, or where you think it's fair that Americans are receiving this message or not, I'll tell you definitively the message that's being sent out. We're not in favor of education. Like, because if you were in favor of education, you would make a much more concerted effort to say, no, no, no, we love education. We want you guys to get an education. We want everybody to be, you know, we want America to be strong and have the smartest, brightest, best educated citizens in the world. But we think the Department
Starting point is 00:50:05 of Education is not helping with that. It's counterproductive, blah, blah, blah. But here's what we're going to do instead. Right. Right. And we're going to make education better. I've heard none of that. No, there's none of that. And that's what worries me, right? Because, look, I'm not going to sit here and pretend like we've got it all figured out when it comes to our education system. Our public education system is failing our students. There's no question about that. There's a huge portion of elementary school kids who should be able to read and they're unable to read. That is a huge problem. So when you have that issue and it's been festering for a long time in this country and year after year we keep falling off in terms of the rankings,
Starting point is 00:50:43 country rankings in education, Americans are going to get increasingly angry and frustrated when there haven't been any solutions. And then when someone like Donald Trump comes along and he says, the education department is failing the American people, look at these test scores, well, at that point, all of these Americans are pretty much primed to support the idea of dismantling that department. And so I am curious to see how this plays out, you are right, look, I think this is a perfect example of how our institutions work and how in some instances they hold, right? So the Senate filibuster, the legislative filibuster, would make it incredibly difficult to find enough votes in the Senate to dismantle the education department.
Starting point is 00:51:29 So I actually don't think at the end of the day it's going to happen for sure. Like people act like it's already happened. But even if it's not dismantled, we do need to come to terms with the fact that education has failed the American people, our students, and there needs to be reforms and changes. And let's have that conversation. Yes. And instead, look, maybe we will. Maybe we will. Maybe it'll start a national conversation. And this is where we really need the Democrats to be effective. God help us. So then tell us why the education department is essential. Tell us what's so great about it. Emphasize the two or three parts that you love the most and you think are the most essential. Don't just go them bad guys, bad guys. We already know, okay, okay, like make an effective case. And if you're Republicans, I get that you want to do cost cutting, but have you even made a case for making education better? Because I haven't seen it. So whether you like it or not, the message you're sending out is we don't want any stinking education.
Starting point is 00:52:29 And so, and by the way, then you've got to ask yourself, why doesn't your side want the American people to be educated? All right. When we come back, we'll talk a little bit about what El Salvador is offering up to the American people and the American government when it comes to imprisoning people, including America. Americans. And later in the show, we will also discuss, well, someone that was just hired by the Trump administration, someone who's referred to as a former professor and far-right conspiracy theorist. So look forward to that. We'll be right back.
