Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to the Young Turks, the online news show. Make sure to follow and rate our show with not one, not two, not three, not four, but five stars. You're awesome. Thank you. Hey, guys, you've heard of the Young Turks podcast because you're listening to it right now. But make sure that you subscribe and give it a five star rating if you like it. Thank you for listening. Oh, man. Birthday, everybody.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Okay. 18th birthday for the Young Turks. Jay Huger, John Iirola, J.R. Jackson, some of the old school crew. All right, we got a great show ahead for you guys. Guys, we got Bloomberg, we got Trump, we got Bernie. There's a usual set of hair pulling exercises. My favorite, I'll probably come back to it. It's not one of the stories, but I'll come back to it in seven of the stories probably.
Starting point is 00:01:18 Chris Wallace today said, you know, if Bernie Sanders keeps winning these primaries, the Democratic Party won't be able to stop them. Yeah, that's kind of how it works. But the assumption there, which is that the Democratic Party desperately does want to stop him, is an interesting one. Okay, all right, so let's do it. Let me talk about the birthday first. All right, guys, we have been on the air for 18 years.
Starting point is 00:01:44 This is our 18th birthday, and that is unreal. Back on February 14th, 2002, Sirius satellite radio launched, and we were their only original talk show at the time that other shows on, but we're the only original one and so that is our birthday and so hence this has been 18 years now we're all grown up and we're all grows up we're adults now going off to college so he can now smoke go to the military yeah that's right or get killed which might happen okay anyway let's see if we make it the 19 but seriously that is actually part of the story of the young Turks I mean every year we're like let's see if we can do another one and it hasn't been easy
Starting point is 00:02:25 and it has been in some ways one miracle after another to stay on air yesterday in the post game for the members. John and I were talking about how in 2006 we were on to our last payroll and we were about to go under and just bounced off the ground and got back up. That's happened many times. But here we are. Look, if you look at the metrics that the rest of the world cares about, which is there's one, money right there that's why we New York Times has never written a story about us
Starting point is 00:02:58 maybe ever but certainly not anything positive NPR's never done a story none of these big outlets have ever been like wow young Turks holy cow oldest show in internet history so we went online in 05 at the end of 05 so that's been 15 years so we started as a radio show and then let's show you all the platforms we're on in a second so if you're going by the metrics of of Hey, are they as rich as Bloomberg? No, we're not. Okay, so I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Nothing I can do about it. Believe me, we've tried. But there are other metrics. So I'm going to get hokey in a second in thanking you guys. But let me show you the numbers. Lifetime views for the Young Turks online. This doesn't even count radio. 12.8 billion views.
Starting point is 00:03:47 18 and a half million subscribers on our network across all the different shows and channels and platforms and minutes watched. So because you could have views and maybe people are only watching two seconds or you could have a lot of subscribers but maybe people aren't actually watching minutes watch you can't argue with. About 38 billion minutes viewed. So look, no matter what happens to us today, tomorrow, the next year, they can't take that away from us.
Starting point is 00:04:17 We reached a whole heap of people with our progressive message. Wow. We're proudly called the homo progressives and we got through to literally billions of people. Now those are views, not viewers, obviously there aren't 12.8 billion people on the planet. But even so, you know, even if somebody watched two videos, 10, 20, 200 videos, you still have reached an unreal number of people. If you told me that number 18 years ago, when Ben and I and Dave first plugged in the microphones In my living room, in my one bedroom apartment, I would have said, look, man, I got a giant
Starting point is 00:04:55 ego. I believe anything is possible, but 12 billion views, bring it down. Certainly Dave would have never believed it, and Ben would have never believed. None of us would have. So look, how do we get here? Here comes the hokey part. We never got celebrated by the rest of the media. And yeah, we joke around about it on the show all the time.
Starting point is 00:05:18 There's a slight bit of bitterness there. Yeah, slight. Yeah. But look, they don't, as my wife said, people you're leading a rebellion against are not likely to give you a pat on the back. So fair enough, fair enough. But there are other people in the world, you guys. So first, just on a personal level, I've now met thousands of you.
Starting point is 00:05:39 And the credit you guys give us and the love that you guys give us is worth a thousand articles or anybody in the mainstream media or the elites or the people inside the club giving us credit. God, you guys are so wonderful to us. And so how do we make it in a digital media atmosphere that is near impossible? We've literally had hundreds of companies go bankrupt in the time that we've been on air. Well, you know, the reason they go bankrupt is the advertising situation in digital media is a disaster, total utter disaster. It's not just specific to us, it's specific to the whole industry.
Starting point is 00:06:18 You carried us. So that's very literal financially through membership, t-y-t.com slash join. If you're watching on YouTube, there's a little button down below it says join. Yeah, and sometimes people say, oh, you know, you asked the audience for too much. That's absolutely true. I do. I do ask you guys for too much. And I wish I didn't have to, but I don't have a choice.
Starting point is 00:06:37 That's the only way we stay on. But we love you for it. It's, you know, look, I'm king hokey, okay? But everybody around here is hokey and corny. And our love for you, I think is, I think we show it to you over and over again because it's as earnest as it can be. And then, you know, another way to keep it us on air is t.yt.com slash yes. It's just a contribution in any way that you can.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Anyway. So if it wasn't for you guys, would have been out of business a long, long time ago. You know, New York Times did do a story on a couple, on just about every right wing outlet. But the one that sticks with me and I'll keep it real is Dennis Prager. And in the middle of the article where they're doing glowing praise of this conservative guy with his horrible, unbelievable views trying to do propaganda on college campus, et cetera, they say, oh, by the way, two billionaires give him $20 to $25 million a year and don't expect anything in return.
Starting point is 00:07:30 So whereas we have to actually be sustainable, right? They just mention it like, oh, by the way. No, not by the way. They get $25 million a year for free to do propaganda for those two billionaires. And maybe ask why? Yeah, but hey, money, money, they have money, bravo, okay, so there I am again. But guys, like when people come up to me and hug me and they say wonderful things like we change your life or we changed your mind or sometimes folks tell me they got the courage
Starting point is 00:07:59 to leave fundamentalist religion, they got the courage to come out and say they're gay. Or thousands of stories, I can't thank you enough. It's been a wonderful 18 years. So which platforms are we on currently, this little engine that could, let's show you, obviously our own website, t-y-t.com, we got our app, YouTube, Facebook, Roku, Pluto, Comcast, X-FINITY X1, Comcast, X-1, Comcast, Exflex, Zumo, and you name it, and it goes on and out. Okay, now, Lifetime platforms, just for fun, I'm not going to read all of them, but these are the platforms we used to be on, right? Like, oh, look at Air America there, current TV, blip. Air America's where I first listened, by the way. Oh, is that right? That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Fusion, where John had the TV show, AOL, where we started off some reporters that still exist in the world today. They're reporters partly because we helped them, and I feel very, very proud about that. So if you notice MSNBC is not on there because that wasn't TYD, that was just me. And Go 90 is there where True North was for like a day before it shut down? We've spent a couple months in the North Pole. Nobody needs to see it though. Well, back when it still existed.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Briefly, it was very brief. The North Pole existed. When the North Pole existed. Oh, that's true, yes. Science fiction, really. And not only did you guys keep us in business through membership and do now, but when we ask you for a studio, the studio is built by you guys, we asked you for reporters, you did that, you did that, you're the best. So, last thing, guys, so you see JR next to me, he's been here, what, 16, 17, 17 years? April of 03.
Starting point is 00:09:41 One of the first young Turks ever, and he missed the living room, but he was there afterwards in our first little tiny, tiny office studio. And I just want to run through some, and John, you've been, has it been a decade yet? It's been more than eight years. I came in January 2012. Okay, obviously, a huge part of this show. long. Jesus.
Starting point is 00:10:04 By the way, John started, John, I know he's been here twice as long as you and you've been here forever. Crazy. John started, is the only person to have started two out of our top ten channels. So both damage report, which is on the air now and think tank in the past. So wonderful work by John. All right, but I want to tell you about the folks that are not here and some you see all the time, some, I'll just go in random order here, no order you have the pictures, guys.
Starting point is 00:10:31 But some folks you never see, right? So first, commander of the armies of the East, Aaron Wysaki. So Aaron's a legend, he runs the boiler room in Pittsburgh, does publishing for us, but he's done social media, he's done everything else. Can we see Aaron? There he is. He was a kid when we hired him for God's saying, right here. He's been about 11, 12 years, depending on how you're counting, he's part of the Decade Club,
Starting point is 00:10:57 runs our office in Pittsburgh, is one of the greatest guys I've ever worked. Why Sakey does this stuff, and I don't hate to interrupt. It relishes it. Why Saki does the things that many people may not want to do the analyzing of certain things to make sure things go out a certain way. So it's less of a guesswork and more of a reading the way things are going and making sure we're along that same range, because you have to continue to progress and continue to move with the times.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Again, Ophibs when we started with YouTube. If you look at YouTube 2005, it is not the same YouTube that is right now. So as things change, you have to change with it. You can't just say, oh yeah, we came with YouTube, so just sit back and just keep putting our videos, no, it's not how it works. Yeah, Aaron wrote all those waves, survived all those waves, carried us through all those waves. Look, I get a little emotional talking about that because it's easy to celebrate the people you see all the time.
Starting point is 00:11:46 That's, you know, we're the ones that get the credit from time to time, right? But it's harder for the folks you don't see, right? And those are the bigger heroes, the folks you don't see that work throughout the night for year after year after year, putting in the hard work to make this place possible. All right, next is obviously Anna, Anna Kasparian, who's been here now a dozen years at least. That's a fun picture. The most Anna picture. It's a great picture.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Queen of salt. And Cassie, who took that picture? Oh, nice. Thank you, Cassie. So Anna's in Germany right now, but she'll be back next week. You guys know her. And then from time to time, you'll see a picture of this guy on air. Bart, our audio guy, who's done, been a stage manager.
Starting point is 00:12:33 These are all the folks that were in the Wilshire studio, so in the decade club, I believe. I didn't do all the math on it. But Bart's awesome, and we love him for it. It's also the last time Bart wore a college shirt, button to the top. Of course, my co-founders, the ones that were in the living room back on the very first day. Actually, we started at Tony Romas. That was our first meeting ever. Ben Mankowitz, now host Turner Classic Movies, obviously comes on the show still to this day.
Starting point is 00:13:02 In fact, he was with us in the Iowa caucus, does old school with me. A guy you see from time to time on the air Friday post game, Dave Kohler, the ever irascible and eccentric Dave Kohler. That's a good picture of Dave. I really like that picture, actually. That's a great picture. That's more Dave Kohler than I did that other one was in. That's a great picture.
Starting point is 00:13:20 And obviously the smartest guy who works at TYT, Edwin, our stage manner manager. Oh, that's the laugh you hear every once in a while on the background, that's Edwin. So now you can put the face to the name. If there's something you don't know about, pick a country. Bring it up, don't ask him. So, hey, so, Evan, can you tell me about the history of Peru? Don't ask him, just be like, so Peru and Edmund will go. Yeah, how do Badgers work?
Starting point is 00:13:51 Trump could use that. All right, another letter. Another TYT legend, at least a legend in our own minds, Jesus Godoy, first ever internet TV director. I know. But by the way, we used to kid around about that. That actually is true, he's the first ever director of internet television show. Jesus Godoy, also with us 17 years, came just a little bit before JR. He was in the living room, he was an intern when we first started.
Starting point is 00:14:20 I think our first intern, poor guy's been with us the whole time. Still an intern, but he's holding that hope. Gonna get that salary. Now he manages the stage crew, among other things, and it still directs. And now she's not with us anymore. There's a lot of folks that were here, Tom Hanks, so many others that were great. But I got to acknowledge Jill Pike, because she helped start the show. She was one of her original co-hosts with me and Ben for a long, long time.
Starting point is 00:14:49 She's wonderful, a huge part of the show. Last couple of folks here, epic. has been here from day one, Michael Shore in the living room with us. Now, almost never full time, right? Always like doing this and the only thing at the same time. Mark Thompson's been here a long time too, but Michael was here from day one. So thank you to Michael Shore, who's now with I-24 and Cheddar. Someone you also never see, but does wonderful work behind the scenes and has been here
Starting point is 00:15:17 and carried the company is Praveen Singh. She does marketing, PR, and so many other things for us. So, Praveen, you're the best. She's in San Francisco. That's a great picture of Perva, yeah. So thank you, Bruce. Who takes these amazing pictures? Was that Cassie too, probably?
Starting point is 00:15:33 I assume all of them are Cassie. And then finally, one of their aggressive progressives, Steve-o, also I think in the Decade Club certainly was in the Wilshire studio back in the day. I like how they were kind of reluctant to put Steve's picture out. He's our chief business officer as well. So multifaceted here. All right, guys, I can go on and on. But we mostly want to thank you for allowing us to exist for all these years.
Starting point is 00:16:01 And we don't have billionaires, but we do have you guys. And then we're gonna show you a video here, so summarize a little bit. One small thing before you go to, because I had thoughts really fast, I know obviously we always go a little long. But there's a thing about when we started, the objective wasn't always to just get rich. Of course, you want to make money. But the objective wasn't get rich, which is the reason why we stuck through it. and then bounced off the ground those few times to make it up because we were thinking
Starting point is 00:16:26 we have something we want to get to as far as the country. Not a matter of, oh, my God, I can't wait for someone to give me a million dollars so we can do this and be seen and known. Being seen and known comes with inspiring people. And as you talk about meeting thousands of people, what they tell you, and they tell me this, and I wasn't even directly doing it. What you guys did was made me feel like someone heard what I was always thinking when I'm in the middle of this state, city, whatever, and these are my parents thought
Starting point is 00:16:51 differently me. And I'm like, I'm being raised and it just doesn't make sense to me. Am I the crazy one? And I can't tell you how many times on the air, early days. We said, am I the crazy one? I can't be the crazy one because this makes too much sense. And so when other people, we didn't know, we were talking to a camera and we couldn't see you. So we don't know who we're reaching until it's been doing it for long enough for we get a chance to see and meet the people we've seen. So when I meet people out on the streets and they say, oh man, I'm sorry to me to me to bother you. Hey, I'm just saying I liked watching here. I've been watching since this day, and on this platform, I always ask people, where did you watch, where did you
Starting point is 00:17:22 first start watching, and then what kind of hooked you? Because I'd like to know what it is we did, because you don't know when it happened that it got certain people's attention. So people felt isolated, and then they felt like they were part of something, and that's part of the giving part of it. 2020, we got people that on Instagram, doing Patreon pushes and all this stuff, and their objective is strictly to be known. Instagram celebrities, in general, I'm not going to lump everybody, but I'm sure the
Starting point is 00:17:48 major majority of them, we're like, oh, man, I can make some money by just go on Instagram, maybe hooking people. Everyone's trying to do it. That wasn't the objective. The objective was for us to tell the truth in the middle of things, in the middle of an industry, I'm going to call politics an industry, that has no interest in telling you the truth. I'm so glad you brought that up, Jerry, because I, look, when Ben and I first started, I remember we had a conversation right in the beginning when we said, when we come back
Starting point is 00:18:15 to being in the middle, which is where we, you know, we're. where we actually are, because the polling indicates that about two-thirds of the country agrees with our positions, then we'll know that politics is back in balance. Back then, Ben was to the left of me. Now I'm to the left of him. But I think Ben, mission accomplished, like some people are saying he's not left enough, right? And by the way, I don't know if I'm outing him here, but he voted for Bernie Sanders last time, okay?
Starting point is 00:18:40 But now a lot of people think Ben is not left enough, right? I was on a podcast just yesterday where somebody was saying that I'm not left enough. All right, we're getting back in balance, that's what we wanted. And so now millennials and Gen Z are 80% progressive. And if we help push the country in that direction, you know, I just want to keep going, man. That's all I care about. Then I'm incredibly proud of that. And by the way, we're 18 days away, it's funny, it's our 18th birthday, we're 18 days
Starting point is 00:19:08 away from Super Tuesday, where a guy who is so progressive that when we started, no one on planet Earth could have imagined could be president. If you had said it on in February 14th, 2002 that Bernie Sanders will one day be president of the United States, you would have been laughed out of every room. I mean, you would have been left out of every room until about a couple of weeks ago, right? But let alone that, look, I'm proud that I was the first guy in 2013, first pundit to say, yeah, I think Bernie Sanders can be president. I think he has a good chance of winning.
Starting point is 00:19:39 Not like he should, but I'm saying he could. And here we are. I remember watching that video and being very frustrated. I was not happy with that particular prediction how early it was. I just want to say briefly, and partially because I want to make sure that this segment takes a long time, because that is a tradition that goes back 18 years. But also, like, I'm glad that you went over the numbers and how many people have watched, and it's so amazing, but also, one thing that I don't think people will get is, so we've reached
Starting point is 00:20:08 a lot of people, but we've sort of reached a lot of people that we haven't even directly reached, because I don't think most people know how many shows would not exist or would not exist in the form that they're in if it hadn't been for the young Turks. Like, there had been radio for a long time, but when you guys started on YouTube and started to figure out over time how that could work, what that should look like, how do you structure that, how do you present yourself to the audience, I mean, there are a lot of people who now have shows that either consciously or perhaps not so consciously were doing the Young Turks, basically. They might disagree, and now they have totally different things and everything, it's awesome, that's what we want.
Starting point is 00:20:44 And by the way, some of those people are right-wingers. Like, there are people who do our thing, but they're insane right-wingers, but they're trying to be the young Turks. And I think that that's amazing too. It's another reason why it's crazy that the New York Times has never like, isn't that sort of important that this whole ecosystem has sort of sprung out of this initial experiment that nobody thought could work? And that was kind of the point I was making as far as like, now people don't realize, hey, becoming an celebrity. is a thing and a normalized thing, but literally it was not a thing before. It just wasn't. And we were just like, hey, literally, Jose, you know, Jesus, Jesus said, hey, let's put a camera
Starting point is 00:21:22 while we do this radio show, and let's just talk, and there's a camera looking at us. That's a good call. And we were YouTube's first partner too. So, I mean, it's also amazing that nobody's here with this credit for being the longest running show in internet history. So that's a hell of a thing. It doesn't matter, guys, it doesn't matter. Look, the bottom line is, let's keep going.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Let's keep going. Otherwise, you're no longer the longest running show. All right. So, having said that, just one last thing, show you guys a video of some of the fun moments that we've had over these last 18 years. Welcome to the Young Turks. For so long, all you've seen on television is conservative hosts, conservative commentators, and conservative talk shows. But now we say the time has come for regime change in American television. This is a noted American talk show host, Jen Cueger, and I doubt.
Starting point is 00:22:10 anybody knows who he is. Show the goddamn paper right here. Picture, headline, USA, Safer, Bush, Sess. Happy birthday. How old are you? 32 years old. You are an old man. I was telling this kid this morning, I was 22 when I started at TYT. We were supposed to celebrate Ida Rola's birthday.
Starting point is 00:22:29 I don't know how I got reeled into this. I volunteered, though. Hey, everybody. Why don't break down? That's what's funny. But everyone wanted to watch, Jank versus J.R. We were told that everything would go well. We would have roses thrown at our feet.
Starting point is 00:22:48 We would be seen as liberators. We wouldn't need that many troops. And all of these predictions turned out to be incredibly wrong. They have no shame whatsoever. The whole premise of the show is that we are believers. We actually believe that we can make a difference. Yes, we dare to believe that we can make a difference in our government. I was going to introduce myself, but it sounds like you guys might know us.
Starting point is 00:23:13 We do news a little different in the establishment media. We do it honestly. Thank you, Jay Cougar, of the young Turks. This convention is going to be nuts. Jesus Christ, booze, and then applause. Today for the first time, it really hit me that there's an excellent chance that Trump is going to be our next president. It's sad for America that we stooped this low. And I'm going to fight with every fiber of my body to make sure we never make that mistake again.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Now more than ever, I want to fight for Wolfpack. We cover and return to more than I think anyone else, the topic of climate change. We're not just talking about it. TYT sent an awesome, extremely talented crew and myself to the Arctic last year. Yesterday, North Dakota looked more like a war zone than the site of a protest over the construction of a pipeline. Alexandria Ocasio-Corp-Dazzo, everybody! Great to have you here on set. It's awesome to be here.
Starting point is 00:24:09 You know, this is where it started in a lot of ways. Hello. Hi. When the Justice Democrats started, I remember I was there. Will you join the Justice Democrats? Yes, with enthusiasts. Justice is coming. You've got three, but we only know the results of two.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Oh, too. It's been almost 12 hours, and we're totally running out of time. We're having fun. It's election night. I'm calling it. Alexandra Ocasio Cortez, the winner. Congratulations, thank you. No small part thanks to, honestly, journalists and outlets like yourself that are willing to cover this story from the very beginning.
Starting point is 00:24:47 For all of you who volunteered, all of you who donated, you're David, you just be Goliath tonight. We were told that we would be lucky to have one just Democrat in Congress. We have seven Justice Democrats, a caucus of justice in the House of Representatives. About a year ago, if I had told you that AOC was going to defeat one of the most powerful Democrats in the country, and then right-wingers would sue her if she blocked them on Twitter. Oh my God, how much have we changed the world in about a year. So this is what democracy looks like. D-Y-D!
Starting point is 00:25:20 B-YT! One more time! I love you guys! When I was here, is when I started with these guys, I thought me and J-Q were about to change the world to make a million dollars. We're still going to change the world part. Thank you all for independent, TYT, thank you, all your sisters and brothers and the independent media family. Thank you so much for giving the people of this country a different view.
Starting point is 00:25:45 All right, still at the same place. Love you guys. Thank you for making this possible. You reached a lot of people. You are the Young Turks, and we have spread that progressive message wide and far. Let's keep it going. Thank you. TYT.com slash join to keep it. keep it going. All right. We need to talk about a relatively new show called Un-F-The-Republic, or UNFTR. As a Young Turks fan, you already know that the government, the media, and corporations are constantly peddling lies that serve the interests of the rich and powerful. But now there's a podcast dedicated to unraveling those lies, debunking the conventional wisdom. In each episode of Un-F-The-Republic, or UNFTR, the host delves into a different
Starting point is 00:26:30 historical episode or topic that's generally misunderstood or purposely obfuscated by the so-called powers that be. Featuring in-depth research, razor sharp commentary, and just the right amount of vulgarity, the UNFTR podcast takes a sledgehammer to what you thought you knew about some of the nation's most sacred historical cows. But don't just take my word for it. The New York Times described UNFTR as consistently compelling and educational, aiming to challenge conventional wisdom and upend the historical narratives that were taught in school. For as the great philosopher Yoda once put it, you must unlearn what you have learned.
Starting point is 00:27:10 And that's true whether you're in Jedi training or you're uprooting and exposing all the propaganda and disinformation you've been fed over the course of your lifetime. So search for UNFDR in your podcast app today and get ready to get informed, angered, and entertained all at the same time. All right on a young Turks. I knew I'd forget somebody that was in the decade club, but at least one person. Rick Strom, TYT sports. So he's been here a long time as well, and great shout out to him.
Starting point is 00:27:53 He's doing, having great success. Please check that out on our Facebook, TYT sports. And so many others that were here, we just don't have time. for both employees who were here in the past, not here anymore, and other people who was just only here seven or eight years, right? And you know, some folks we've had on air like Jimmy Dorr and West Clark and, you know, there's been ups and downs up, but I saw Jimmy the other day and I got nothing but love for Wes and all of them.
Starting point is 00:28:19 So they all made this possible. All right, let me read a couple of comments and then we really got to do the news. LA Field says happy birthday to TYT, happy membership anniversary to me. And he said, even though today's my last paycheck due to a layoff, it's so sad. He said, I know I can afford another year of T.O.I.T., I consider membership by utility. Wow, okay. I hope you get back on your feet. We're all rooting for you, brother. Thank you. You're way too kind. P.K. Murph says, happy birthday, T.Y.T. from Fouquet. First heard y'all on Air America. So a shout out to Tom Hartman and Al Franken
Starting point is 00:28:52 for leading me in your direction. I had Tom on the show yesterday on the conversation. and what goes around, comes around in a good way. Dark faces, happy birthday, TYT, you're legal now, so make the whole day a happy half hour. Check out Brett's show, who's also been here a long time, happy half hour, especially if you're a member. So Jolla says, happy birthday, TYT with love, laughter, and respect to all of you, TYT, staff, members, and followers. Thank you, too, So Jolio. Those are all members. And then in the YouTube super chat, Troy Peron says, you all make me in the world better with your work.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Thank you, brother. Amy Sofda says, happy birthday, TYT, thank you for speaking the truth and shining the light on so much others that others want to brush under the rug. Cassie Kraft says, I love True North John. I knew someone saw it. Yes. Thank you. Thank you for using YouTube super chat. Too many others, you guys are all wonderful.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Just Linda writes in on Twitter, Amen, J.R. Until I found you guys, I thought I was crazy and all alone. I remember crying the first time I watched my first video on YouTube. What? So, okay, look, there's so many others. But to Linda and all of you, I assure you, you are not alone. There's one thing, just for a take I said, please tell me the video, the one we just ran, will be available to share with non-members.
Starting point is 00:30:16 What an epic piece of your history that would help so many others. And we get those types of comments sometimes when we run videos or if I post something, people say, hey, how can I get that to share it? And I just want to put it out there in case we do get a chance and it'll be available somewhere. I don't know if that's possible. 100%. We'll definitely make it possible. TYT.com, okay?
Starting point is 00:30:33 So we'll definitely put that up and thank you guys. All right, John, let's do the news. Okay, let's jump into what's been happening today. The possibly unprecedented and it's certainly dangerous relationship between Donald Trump and William Barr, the current state of the DOJ, which has been incredibly deferential to his desires, continues to develop. We found out today that Attorney General William Barr has assigned an outside prosecutor to scrutinize the criminal case against President Trump's former national security advisor, Michael Flynn, according to people familiar with the matter.
Starting point is 00:31:04 To catch you up, in case you don't know about Michael Flynn's legal troubles, in December 2017, Flynn struck a plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team, pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with the Russian ambassador and agreeing to cooperate. Now, Flynn was one of multiple people in the administration who just forgot that like they had been talking to a whole bunch of Russian officials. And one would think considering the conversation at the time about what was going on, that that would matter. And the right wing has, to their credit, been obsessed with Michael Flynn ever since then. But in thinking that they had been unfair to him, that the DOJ was being too harsh to him, that they should let him go. And it doesn't matter that he conveniently left off all of these inconvenient facts.
Starting point is 00:31:50 And so we don't know exactly what this scrutiny is going to produce, but we do know what the right wing media wants. They've been very vocal about it throughout the day. Look, they're lawless, they don't, and we've gone over this. And so you have the career prosecutors who are still trying to do their job and they go through the process. And this is what happens in countries that devolve into chaos and then wind up having governments that do terrible things.
Starting point is 00:32:13 they then have political correctness come in and go, yeah, you were legally correct, but we're not interested in being politically correct. And the dear leader says that he wants his friend out of jail, so he doesn't care that he broke the law. And by the way, other people that didn't break the law, he wants them in jail, and he doesn't care that they didn't break the law. And so that's how democracies devolve, and we're right in the middle of that right now. It's hard for people to see it sometimes.
Starting point is 00:32:39 I was thinking that the other day, it's hard for people to see exactly what's happening in the country when it's happening. We think, oh, we look through history and we're like, hey, that happened. I read that book, that's how it happened, but when we're in the middle of it, or when someone who happens to be in the opposing party, and not everyone that's in the opposing party is saying this, but when someone says, hey, pay attention to what this guy is doing, it's what we've always warned others about, just pay attention. Because if you don't, it'll happen to you.
Starting point is 00:33:06 So if you want to push back and say, oh, how could you say such as America, nothing like that could ever happen, that's exactly how it can happen. When you have an attitude like that, and you don't pay attention to exactly what's being done. Yeah, to your point, Jay, I remember being in a museum, it's a long time ago here in L.A. And I always wonder, like, how in the world did that Germany slip into what it slipped into in the 1930s, right? And then they laid it out. That's why you go to museums, okay? And they showed, like, the newspaper articles from back in the day, et cetera.
Starting point is 00:33:35 And the answer is, gradually. And they'd take away a little bit of freedom. They'd break a law here, no consequences, they break another law, no consequences, and eventually might makes right, and then eventually they start coming in with batons and beating people up, but there's no law anymore to enforce, and all there's left is power. And I mean, it's happening right in front of our eyes. If he wins re-election, now he thinks he's 100% above the law. And right now, that is correct.
Starting point is 00:34:05 Yeah, I'm gonna jump around just a little bit. Can we get B3 ready, the Lou Dobbs video? Because you're talking about that process and you need legislative checks, hopefully. Hopefully the courts can provide a check. Maybe the media can provide a check. And you always sort of wonder, what was the media saying in the run-up to that? Well, I don't know, perhaps it's the museum. But we do know what some in the media are saying about the DOJ and about Trump right now.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Yesterday, William Barr had his little comments about how Trump is making his job hard. Like, obviously there's a lot of distance between them. I mean, he said his job was hard. And I want you to take a look at even that, that sort of like show of frustration with Trump from William Barr, who from day one in that position has done nothing but protect Donald Trump do his bidding. That's why he was there because he wasn't going to be like Jeff Sessions and recuse himself. So let's go to Lou Dobbs last night talking about Barr from yesterday.
Starting point is 00:35:02 I guess I am so disappointed in Bill Barr, I have to say this. You know, it's a damn shame when he doesn't get what this president has gone through and what the American people have gone through and what his charge is as Attorney General. Where the hell is the report? Where the hell are the indictments? Where the hell are the charges against the corrupt, the politically corrupt, a deep state within the Justice Department, the FBI? And why in the hell aren't we hearing apologies from someone?
Starting point is 00:35:36 in that rancid, corrupt department about what they permitted. But then to hear this attorney general complain about this president who's fighting every one of those damn people to do the right thing and to get this country straightened out. And it's his mission to do so, not to carp about his boss. And by the way, I don't want to hear any crap about an independent justice department. This. Colgate Total is more than just your favorite toothpaste. It's dedicated to advancing oral health.
Starting point is 00:36:08 The new Colgate Total Active Prevention System features a reformulated toothpaste, innovative toothbrush, and a refreshing antibacterial mouthwash. All designed to work together to fight the root cause of common oral health issues, such as gingivitis, plaque, and tartar. Use the full routine twice daily and be dentist ready. Shop the Colgate Total Active Prevention System now at walmart.com. Justice Department, as does everyone, works for the president.
Starting point is 00:36:36 It is part of the executive branch. Lou Dobbs never before in his life has felt that the Justice Department should be the personal lawyers of the president. And I guarantee if Trump loses later on this year, he will not continue to say that they should be working for the president. But look at that, I don't want to hear that crap about an independent DOJ. No, because you would have that in a presidential system. In a monarchy where you have your king, no, obviously all of them are supposed to be working
Starting point is 00:37:01 for him. But look at, we're gonna talk more about that. He was slamming William Barr there for like a throwaway comment about tweets. He called him part of the deep state because of that. And he said, why are you like, why are you doing this when you should be getting indictments against the people in the DOJ? Not like particular people. He's not saying here are people in the crimes they committed. He's saying, go find people and bring me indictments. You should be rooting out the people who are working against our dear Lord Donald Trump. against our political enemies. And so also in the museum you see propaganda, and that was a huge part of it.
Starting point is 00:37:36 And you think that like the Germans, like the National Socialist Party when they first came into power in the 1930s, they're trying to get into power and then did, that they came in and said, oh, we're gonna murder everyone? No, they didn't say that, okay? They said, oh, we're trying to protect the homeland. And he's the only one that cares about Germany and the Germans. And he's just trying to, and you've got to give him the power so he can protect. You can protect you so he could protect the homeland and we could protect Germans outside
Starting point is 00:38:03 of the homeland too because those are poor minorities that are being exploited in other countries and we have to go help them et cetera and they did propaganda on purpose and then their enemies their enemies were less than human and they were the ones causing all the problems and et cetera et cetera and if anyone crossed the leader you'd have someone like that go back in the day on in the newspapers and the leaflets etc and say r d is now a our enemies and he has to be rooted out, rooted out, okay, and they would get rid of them. And then until everybody got the message, you're not allowed to disagree with the leader even a little bit, not even as John pointed out, a show disagreement. It wasn't a real disagreement, it was meant to show that he's independent while Bill Barr is not actually independent. He did reduce Roger Stone's sentence. He did put someone on the Flynn case to reduce his sentence or maybe let him go.
Starting point is 00:38:56 He did butcher the Mueller report and lie about it. He's done everything Trump has asked him to do, and then he just did a little show of like, oh, I am upset about his tweets. And Lou Dobbs is like, that's it. He's part of the deep state and it's rancid. We've got to get rid of him because the important thing is not, is Bill Barr really on our side or not. The important thing is to terrify anyone who might oppose the president even a little bit. Justin Amash, Matt Gates, Jeff Sessions.
Starting point is 00:39:26 These guys get run. Mitt Romney, they get run out for the smallest of things. Matt Gage is the big, it was one of the biggest kneelers in front of the president. But, I mean, there was one thing, which, by the way, just yesterday, they did pass, the Senate did pass a limitation on president's war powers against Iran. That's what Matt Gates was put on punishment for even suggesting before the vote actually happened. Of course, he's represent him, so that was a Senate vote yesterday. But just because of that, he's off of the impeachment trial.
Starting point is 00:39:52 When he was one of the biggest mouthpieces, it doesn't matter. You are now an enemy. And until I get rid of all of my enemies and not only have people like bar around me, who now he's towing that line, then you have, then we're not a complete country yet. Anytime the interest of the president only matches up to be the interests of the country, that sounds like a dictator to me. And when you have someone like, who's our boy in the impeachment who said, if the president thinks it's the national interest for him to get reelected,
Starting point is 00:40:18 he can do whatever the hell he wants, ah, my old, Dershwitz. Dershwood says that. Then that becomes the norm. That's a legal argument he made. in front of the Senate. That's what we're supposed to do now? Yeah. Come on.
Starting point is 00:40:30 So I know we do have to go to another break, but you're going to want to stick around because we've got, I think, my favorite story involving Michael Bloomberg. Before that, though, I do want to say, because I know a lot of people were interested in seeing that birthday video. They're so impressed. Like, think about how gargantuan a task it is to go through 18 years of content and make that and make something so awesome. So you probably want to know and you should know who actually made that.
Starting point is 00:40:54 So our editor, Mary and Norma did the graphics, I can't imagine how you put all of that together, but they did an amazing job. That's a video I'm going to be going back to for a long time. So thank you and credit to both of them for that. And with that, we got a lot of more news to get to. So let me take a short break. But Malcolm has been here forever and he's actually with me back when I was doing the public access show. He was? Yeah, in his sense, the guy I've worked longest with. Oh my God, I had no idea.

Yeah, and take that seriously, by the way, because I remember when we were raising money for the studio, I was sorry, we had this awesome shirt that you could get for donating. In fact, it was this shirt. And a lot of people are probably thinking, ah, they'll bring it back, it's too good. No, we never brought it back, and that is why it is faded to this color. That's right. No, but every time I see somebody in that shirt, I know they built the studio.
Starting point is 00:44:21 Every time I see the Game of Thrones thing that we did, watchers on the wall, I know they built our reporting team. So that's why a part of why we do it. So thank you guys. I was just giving this one. Yeah, what am I gonna do? Okay, Canon Biden writes and Lou Dobbs makes me feel insane. So glad TYT exists to remind me that I'm not insane.
Starting point is 00:44:42 And the black Zach Morris says I was in need of a news platform that spoke in a normal voice and gave me unbiased news. I felt like Fox, MSNBC, Santa, et cetera, were either not telling the full story or willfully not talking about issues in the USA. Happy birthday, TYT. I love you all. Well, the black Zach Morris, we love you too. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:45:03 And, oh, last one, I'll go back to the members. Whitty sometimes writes in, happy birthday, TYT, I was raised in a small conservative hotbed in North Carolina by politically apathetic parents and never realized how progressive I was until Will TYT help me sort what I thought? So amazing. Thank you guys. DYT.com slash happy birthday. God knows we need it.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Okay. Yep. This is going to be a little bit of fun. You've probably heard for years. One of the most frustrating attacks against Bernie Sanders is he's not even a Democrat. You've heard that over and over and over again, but you've never heard it delivered in as hypocritical a fashion as you're about to. We're going to show you a video.
Starting point is 00:45:42 And this is a Democratic Congressman Gregory Meeks. I want you to bear in mind as you watch this, that he has already come out and endorsed Michael Bloomberg. Now watch. Just for me is Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat. So I don't understand why Bernie Sanders, who does not want to become a member of the Democratic Party. He vowed he would run, and if he wins, rule, you know, preside as a Democrat. Run as a Democrat. We've asked him on a continuous basis, if, in fact, you want to be the Democratic nominee, you should be a Democrat.
Starting point is 00:46:12 If you're not a Democrat, you should not run. He should run as an independent. He's not a Democrat. So to me, I wouldn't allow a Republican to run as a Democrat for the Democratic nominee. You don't think he should be allowed to run in the Democratic Party? I don't think he should be a Democrat. I think that he should say if he wants to be a Democrat, he should register in the Democratic Party. And then you can talk about running and to be my representative.
Starting point is 00:46:35 I want a Democrat to be my representative as president of the United States. Okay, but there's problems with that whole thing, but the most important is I would never let a Republican run as a Democrat. What have I done? He's endorsed Michael Bloomberg. Michael Bloomberg registered as a Democrat, do you know when? It was October 2018. Like to put it in perspective, the month before that were the Kavanaugh hearings.
Starting point is 00:47:02 So even that, he made it through all of that before finally registering. He made it through the kids in cages, he made it through it all still as a Republican. It was just a little bit ago. And unfortunately, like the host doesn't ask him about that obvious, shocking, blatant, brutal hypocrisy. On the other hand, Michael, Bernie Sanders didn't give money to all the politicians in the country, okay? So take that, John. Yeah, I don't think of us. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:31 So, now, we need someone who's electable who can beat Donald Trump, someone who could pull in independence. But what we don't want is an independent. Now, but we need independence, so who's polling best among independents? Bernie Sanders, don't want him, banish him, banish him. Okay, you know, they keep saying Mike Bloomberg is so electable because he was a Republican until like yesterday, okay? I mean, during the Kavanaugh hearings, he was Republican, independent, I don't know. He was a Republican governor for a billion years.
Starting point is 00:48:09 Mayor. The mayor, sorry, but for a very long time, enthusiastically. Okay, there's in another story today that just came out, it is reported that when he told some woman who worked for him who was pregnant, kill it. He's gonna get Republicans to vote for him because he's more electable. Oh come on, can you imagine if Bernie Sanders. had said that. Can you imagine?
Starting point is 00:48:37 Can you imagine? Right? But here's the Honorable Representative Meeks telling us, nope, nope, he's to the leftist. But by the way, he means it. He doesn't like people who are to the left of the Democratic Party. He doesn't mind people who are to the right of the Democratic Party, but just the only thing that matters is where's the donations coming from? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:55 So this, I don't even know if he would even say that part as far as people who, Bernie's too much to the left of him. That is the reason. But at least in that section, maybe the rest of the interview he did something else. So let's be fair. So the thing is, what he was concerned about in that clip was he's not a Democrat, he's an independent. He's not Democrat, he's not Democrat.
Starting point is 00:49:11 We've asked him to be a Democrat and he's not Democrat. So if he's hung up strictly on a name, this is another follow-up potentially that he could have been asked as well is, okay, so what is it about what Bernie is proposing that is not Democratic, or doesn't match up with the Democratic Party if he's not Democratic. Affordable College, women's rights, health care, affordable drug costs, livable wages, fair taxing for people. We're wars, especially interventionist wars around the world, protecting the environment, climate change, immigrant rights, gun control, kids' education system from the beginning,
Starting point is 00:49:44 from like kindergarten, livable wages, things like that. So those things, you can list 20 things and ask Revenue Meeks, ask Gregory Meeks, hey, are those things not things that Democratic Party believes in? Because this is what you're saying you don't agree with, because that's agenda versus titles. So our titles have to say, hey, I'm a Democrat. It doesn't matter what I'm actually going to do for people who voted for me. But as long as I have a D next to my name, it's all good that I just screw people over.
Starting point is 00:50:11 Has nothing to do with these agenda policies. That's such a great point because that's a more nuanced point than the ones we made, sorry, John. Okay, because that's such a wonderful follow. The obvious follow up is the one John said, wait, you're- That's always what I said. Yeah. Wait, you're backing a Republican, right?
Starting point is 00:50:30 Like, how could she not ask that? But Jarrah's question is amazing. Can you name one policy position of Bernie Sanders that is not sufficiently democratic? Yeah. We'll wait. We'll wait 40 years. Okay, you won't be able to come up with one. I can name a lot of my Bloomberg's, okay, when he said we should target black and Latino
Starting point is 00:50:49 males on purpose and we should leave white people alone on purpose. That was not a very democratic position. And he had that position until what? A month ago? Yeah. And that was, it's not hyperbole, like literally until two months ago. One of the best things about Mike Bloomberg, and I hear a lot on the media that he's like really savvy, like savier than Trump, he waited until like three months ago to apologize
Starting point is 00:51:13 for stop and frisk. He waited until just the end of 2018 to change his party registration when he knew he was just going to do it opportunistically to run on the Democratic side in the same way that he registered as a Republican right before running to be the mayor of New York City. He doesn't plan ahead literally at all for this because he believes that he can just use his money to buy up the ads and bamboozle people and believing he's something. He's not, but look, I want to talk about who he is and why switching your party doesn't mean anything. You said, where's the money going? Well, let's talk about where Bloomberg's money went.
Starting point is 00:51:47 Now it's going to stupid ads, but where was it going for years and years? So I'm going to jump to this tweet. So this is from back in 2018, back before he was a Democrat. He pledged $80 million to help Dems win the House. He also held a fundraiser at his house for Republican Representative Peter King and asked for everyone who showed up to raise $10,000 for the Republican representative, which seems like it's gonna hurt your chances of taking the House. But let's take a holistic look over the past couple of decades, because remember, he wants
Starting point is 00:52:16 to be the Democratic president, which is gonna have to deal potentially with a Republican Senate and a conservative Supreme Court. So let's talk a little bit about how we got those things. So since 1987, according to the FEC, he's donated over $900,000 directly to Republican candidates' campaigns, national GOP party committees, and federal packs of state Republican party committees. That might seem like a lot of money, it ain't nothing compared to what comes next. Bloomberg has given $4.6 million to New York state GOP party committees, and roughly $300,000
Starting point is 00:52:47 for Republican state and local candidates. So he has spread millions upon millions of dollars around to make sure that as many local and state level Republicans get into office as possible. But even more importantly, Bloomberg's Independence USA Super PAC, which he funds exclusively, spent nearly $10.1 million supporting Republican federal candidates between 2012 and 2016. Not 82 and 86, this was a couple of years ago. The majority of that $5.9 million helped Senator Pat Toomey win re-election in 2016 just A couple years ago against Democrat Katie McGinty, an environmental policy expert and another
Starting point is 00:53:27 Emily's list in Dorsey. So remember how much he cares about climate change? Not so much if it means that he would have to turn against Pat Toomey. Americans for Responsible Solutions, another one of his in 2014, he gave it a quarter of a million dollars backing Republican Senator Susan Collins. Remember her votes with impeachment and Kavanaugh? You remember all that? Yeah, he wanted to make sure she was there to do.
Starting point is 00:53:51 that. He donated a quarter of a million dollars to the West Main Street Values Pack by far the group's largest contribution, which spent a little bit more than that, actually, to help Lindsey Graham win reelection. It also spent six figures against Democratic Senator Tom Udall of New Mexico. And so all of these people, the todiest of the toadies of Donald Trump, he helped them keep their seats. And in 2012, just a handful of years ago, he endorsed Republican Scott Brown in his Massachusetts Senate race against Senator Elizabeth Warren, who's now one of his primary opponents. So like, he helped get us in the situation we're in, a situation where if he hadn't done all
Starting point is 00:54:32 of that, even with Donald Trump as president, we wouldn't have had a Senate that would be passing laws on his behalf, confirming horrendous Supreme Court justices on his behalf, and if he somehow, against all odds, becomes president, he will find it much harder to pass his agenda, except where it lines up with the Republican Party that he was a part of just a couple of years ago, because he worked so hard and spent so much money to give control over this country to the Republicans up until just a couple of years ago. So look. But he has a dean next to his name now.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Yeah, so look, recently I've learned what actually drives politicians even more than we realize. So we'll have conversations on air about progressive Democrats versus conservative Democrats. Well, that actually gives too much credit to politicians. That indicates that they care about policy at all. They actually don't. If progressive Democrats had more money that they were gonna give to other Democrats, then they would all be progressive.
Starting point is 00:55:27 They don't care. All they care about is, where's the money? And so Bloomberg tried to defeat a lot of these people and did defeat a lot of the other Democrats, but now Bloomberg's giving money to Democrats. So they're like conservative, progressive, oh, come on, come on, what are you, children? Who cares? Where's the check? Daddy Mike Bloomberg has the check.
Starting point is 00:55:49 And Bernie doesn't, Bernie collects it 25 bucks at a time. Do you know how hard that is? I don't wanna do that, that's a pain. This guy's giving me a big fat check, so I endorse him and tell you that Bernie's not a real Democrat. And that's not just my great meeks, and it's not personal, I don't know the guy from Adam, okay? It's all of them, they all do it. You see, just turn on your TV any day of the week, and you'll see all of them doing it.
Starting point is 00:56:14 The network of money that goes around from packs to smaller packs, to super PACs, to congressmen, to Democrats versus Republicans versus independents is so intertwined that if a PAC gave you $25,000 to run for your reelection, and then that same pack decides to also give to Bloomberg, what you can't do is go against that pack because that pack likes Mike Bloomberg. But if you don't like what that pack is done as far as endorsing this guy who's going to run for a higher office than you, you can no longer do that because now your job is in jeopardy. Strictly because the money that you're getting from those places is in jeopardy.
Starting point is 00:56:50 So if you work for Starbucks, and Starbucks is like, hey, we have this much money to hand out. You can be like, well, I guess I'll show up to work at 6 a.m. like you guys ask me to, because I'd like my money, because I want to keep my job. So these people want to keep their job. They're not looking to represent you, they're looking to represent themselves. Because it's a nice paycheck, and it's a nice prestigious job so they can get off work and say, you know, I'm the esteemed senator, I'm esteemed representative from wherever, because that's what works for their ego.
Starting point is 00:57:14 It's not about representation anymore. It makes you wonder, what would these people believe in? What principles would they actually have if they were unleashed from that? We'd find out who these people really are and they might actually represent you. You might like a few Republicans and vice versa. Republicans might like a few Democrats because they're actually saying something they believe in. Wolf-dash-pack.com.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Yeah. Thank you, brother. Yeah, yeah. It's just, and I imagine if Bernie Sanders donated money to keep Lindsey Graham in office. By the way, to all of the Democrats, all of the 50 Democrats running against Mike Bloomberg, you idiots take this seriously, every day five new stories come out that if you made an ad, it would destroy him. He's put himself in the position to go through a meat grinder in this race, but they're not taking
Starting point is 00:58:05 it seriously, they're not running ads against him. Make an ad of him, like spending millions of dollars to give Donald Trump as many allies as possible. He helped Kavanaugh get into the Supreme Court effectively. No, I just figured it out as you were saying it. See, that was smarter, Mike Bloomberg. He said, even if I lose, I'm gonna keep helping whoever's the candidate, unless, of course, they attack him.
Starting point is 00:58:29 That is why a lot of the candidates, I bet you right now is going, wow, I do want to sweet, sweet money. No. So I don't matter. I know, it's a mistake. Of course it's a mistake. It's a terrible mistake. Of course it's a terrible mistake, that's why he said that, right?
Starting point is 00:58:41 But a lot of the corporate Democrats, even if they're running for president, they're like, oh, money. No, no, no, I'm not attacking him. I want his money later. You're not going to get it later. There ain't no later. Don't you want a reason to need the money? Because you're not going to need the money.
Starting point is 00:58:57 Okay, damn it, we're out of time. You know, can we just run Buttigieg's thing? Let's just run it. Okay, let's just tell the story. I mean, look, you did Iowa, in New Hampshire, he did very well. He needs inroads into Nevada. I don't think this is it. I think this is it.
Starting point is 00:59:12 So much for the chance to join you. Thanks for invite us to this evening. And I bring greetings from South Bend. He speaks a million languages, but I don't think Spanish is one of them. Yeah, yeah. See, I wanted to run it because yesterday I said on the show it occurred to me for the first time. Oh my God, he doesn't speak Norwegian.
Starting point is 00:59:33 Has anyone tested him? No, I'm serious. When he came out, we didn't know anything about him. He didn't know anything about him and he seemed like a really smart young guy and he said he smoked a Norwegian and he said a couple of sentences. We're like, oh my God, he speaks to, and he learned it to read a book. And then I was like, wait a minute, that guy's one of the most full of crap guys I've ever known.
Starting point is 00:59:53 Oh my God, he doesn't speak Norwegian. Okay, so if you're out there and you speak Norwegian, if you ever see Pete Buttigieg, just launch it to Norwegian, see if he can keep up with you, okay? I don't even know if he plays piano. I've never seen him play piano. I'll state to August. This is what happens when you don't have principles when you don't have an agenda, when you don't have policies that you actually believe in.
Starting point is 01:00:16 You think, hey, I can get the vote by acting like it. I'm gonna, and John, you mentioned this before off the air. You said he wasn't even speaking Spanish. There was a line he had memorized in Spanish to say, and he forgot it. It's like, you can speak in English. Yeah, you can speak in English and forget a line and you'll stumble, even though you've spoken English since you were two years old. If you stumble on a line you're trying to remember, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 01:00:38 It doesn't mean you don't speak the language, it means you were rehearsed and your rehearsal didn't work out. So I was with Dolores Swarta a couple of weekends ago, and they're like, okay, let's do something in Spanish. And I was like, no. Okay, I know some Spanish, but not well enough to speak. So here's all I can do, Sise Puide. Okay, I know that, it's genuine, I know it, and I can say it.
Starting point is 01:01:02 Everything else, and I'm not gonna look good. But a guy like Buttigieg is like, of course, let me memorize it, and I'll tell everyone I speak Spanish. Exactly. And Norwegian. We had to take a break for the second hour. J.R. Thank you for joining us on the first hour. We're going to be back in just a couple of minutes.
