All right. Welcome to the Young Turks on a huge momentous day. Obviously, I'm referring to Cinco de Mayo.
In fact, a lot of news organizations, democracy now, guardian, etc., pro-publica, are calling it
giving newsday.
And we're definitely participating in that as well.
We have the one-hour show for you guys as we normally do here during this coronavirus days.
And then we have a three-hour spectacular right afterwards that is going to unveil my five-year
plan to take over the country for progressives.
There's a couple of surprises in there that I think that you will like.
And so the other thing that we're trying to do here, there's a lot of fives today.
It's a 5-5 on the calendar.
I've got a five-point plan for a five-year takeover.
And these are all, by the way, coincidences.
And we're trying to raise $55,000 today.
So can we do that?
I don't know.
We're going to find out.
So first of all, let's look at the thermometer.
We start from the beginning of the day, not from the beginning of the show.
And so far we already have $3,987.
Can I see 4,000? Can I see 5,000 before the commercial break? I don't know. I won't even check it before the commercial break. But you see my point. We will check it after that. We're going to go back to that over and over again throughout the day. But we're also going to give you extra content. And we're going to have fun at the end. Me, Anna and John will play some games including TYT trivia and stuff that and pleading the fifth. What do we want to answer and not answer? I think you'll love all of it. And there's one more thing.
that's happening today, our new shirts are out.
Every time we do an audience fundraising campaign, we, for the folks who give a good amount
of money, we give a present on top.
So now this campaign is called press on.
Double Entadra, I'm not saying anything except for what I've said.
It wasn't my idea, but I love it.
And so here's the shirts, let me show you.
We press on, okay, get it, get it?
Okay, I love it.
They get it. They get it. Can I just comment on the shirt really quick? I really like that
design. It's a great design. And I love that old school microphone on it. Like, those microphones
are so cool. Like, they don't make cool stuff anymore. I mean, they make stuff that works better,
but I just like the way that looks. Totally agreed. It was a collabo, but mainly Carlos. And graphics did
a great job, Carlos. So I have my shirt here. I'll put it on later in the day. Oh, so for
everyone who gives $127, and it's retroactive too. So if you already gave $127, everyone will get
that t-shirt. And guys, don't get us twisted. The shirt's not worth $127. We're just giving
it as a present to folks who are giving $127. And the other great thing about it is for the rest of
my life, when I see you guys in those different shirts from those different campaigns, I know
that you built our studio, you built our reporting team, and kept us sustainable and alive in these
days. So, and then there's one more real quick, and then we'll get to the news. This is the hoodie
that's out now. It's awesome. It also, as we press on. Yes. Yes, the hoodies, the TYT
hoodies are amazing. If you just want to get a random one, go to shoptot.com. But for these,
again, this is not the price. It's that for the folks who gave $1,000 or more, we're going to
send you a hoodie as well. I got a donor wall in my room right here in my house for folks
who have done that. And I look at your names like 18 times a day. So thank you guys. All this is
at t-y-t.com slash go. If you want to find out what other gifts you might get or naming rights
because we allow you to name things in our studio and now apparently in my house, you can go to
t-y-t.com slash press on to see that list. All right. Anna, let's do the news.
All right. The Trump administration continues to exploit the coronavirus for political purposes,
favoring Republican states while completely neglecting Democratic states or blue states.
Before I get to that, though, I think it's also important to note that Trump is specifically
shutting out members of the coronavirus task force from being able to testify before House
committees. But that's not the case when it comes to the Senate, which is, of course, controlled
by the GOP. The Associated Press shared the details of this story saying no member of the
administration's coronavirus task force can agree to testify on Capitol Hill unless the invitation
is expressly approved by the president's chief of staff, Mark Meadows. Given that competing
demands in these unprecedented times, it is reasonable, according to the White House, to expect
that agencies will have to decline invitations to hearings to remain focused on the COVID-19
response, including invitations to participate in multiple hearings on the same or overlapping
topics. But I really want to emphasize that they are rejecting requests from lawmakers in the
House, but they are fulfilling the request when it comes to the Senate because the Senate is controlled
by the GOP. The memo follows a recent White House move to block Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top
infectious disease expert, from testifying before a House panel while allowing him to appear
the following week at a Senate hearing.
CNN has more details on this story, including, you know, what the possible motivations are.
I think you can probably figure that out.
But let's hear what Jim Acosta had to say.
Even though the president and other top aides have touted their response to the pandemic,
sources tell CNN the White House is moving to limit coronavirus task force members from
testifying at congressional hearings.
That means fewer hearings featuring Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Deborah Birx,
although Dr. Fauci is scheduled to appear before a GOP Senate-led committee next week.
Fauci had been requested over in the Democratic-led House, but that request was denied.
So Wolf does beg the question.
The president says he's doing a spectacular job with this pandemic and the response to the pandemic.
Why won't they let Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx, and others from the task force say that up on Capitol Hill?
So this is a problem because, first off, we're in the middle of a crisis and politicizing it in the way that the Trump had
has is devastating because we all need to be on the same page in order to combat this.
But secondly, the reason why you have this task force with these health experts to begin
with is because they're able to answer incredibly important questions that lawmakers need answers
to in order to keep their constituents safe.
And Trump, again, is politicizing this as a way to give Democrats a middle finger, give
blue states a middle finger, while doing all sorts of favors for Republicans.
So, the ostensible reason and excuse was, my God, they're so busy, they can't do this.
Obviously, that makes no sense, given what I Anna told you that they're going to the Senate.
But you know, Trump, he can't help himself.
He's got verbal diarrhea, so he's going to blurt out the real reason.
So they asked him about it, and he said, because the House is a setup.
That's a direct quote.
And then he went on to say, the House is a bunch of Trump haters.
They put every Trump hater on the committee, the same old stuff.
So we actually have video of him talking to reporters about that.
Let's just go to that quick video.
It's a little bit of chopper talk, unfortunately.
But here he is giving his ridiculous reasoning.
Because the houses are set up.
The house is a bunch of trumpeters.
They put every trumpeter on the committee, the same old stuff.
They frankly want our situation to be unsuccessful, which means death, which means death.
And our situation is going to be very successful.
The Dr. Fauci will be testifying in front of the Senate, and he looks forward to doing that.
But the House, I will tell you, the House, they should be ashamed of themselves.
And frankly, the Democrats should be ashamed, because they don't want us to succeed.
They want us to fail so they can win an election, which they're not going to win.
Okay, so that was already bad enough.
I'm not going to give you the information because I don't want to answer to Democrats.
I mean, look, guys, I know we've gotten used to the insanity of Donald Trump, but if any other
president did this in a national crisis, it would be unbelievable.
If during World War II, FDR was like, other Republicans are haters, I'm just not going to give
them any information about the war, okay?
People are like, what are you talking about?
You have nothing to fear about the haters.
I'm very afraid of them.
I won't let them testify.
I mean, all this is absurd, absurd.
You have a stupid clownist president, and so he does stupid things, including now the latest news,
saying, you know what, we're going to start shutting down the task force completely.
As early as this month, as early as this month, while we're still seeing more and more people
contracting the virus, we haven't had a single day where the death toll was under 1,000 people
for over a month. And the Trump administration is now talking about winding down the coronavirus
task force in an effort to prematurely open the country back up. You know, really, that's one other
part of the story that I think needs to be emphasized. Yes, there's the politicized component
of it. We're seeing that from the Trump administration. But what Republicans are on board for
is to prematurely open the country back up to get the economy going. And if you have Dr. Anthony Fauci
answering valid questions from Democrats who understand the severity of this virus, well,
Fauci is likely to tell them the truth about what's happening and how unbelievably irresponsible
it is to prematurely open the country back up. And so that's why I think Trump is really like
blocking health experts from speaking to congressional committees. Okay. So,
And as usual, of course, terrible communication on this, blundering, buffoonish management as usual.
So reporters asked Dr. Fauci, hey, is it true that the task force is winding down?
And he says, quote, not true.
No.
He said, I've been in every task force meeting and that's not what they're doing.
Turns out they didn't tell Fauci.
They didn't tell Fauci that it's winding down.
So Trump administration official told the New York Times, the task force will be won.
winding down as the White House moves towards phase one of Mr. Trump's plan to open up the country.
So it is true. They have confirmed it. They are, it's a task force on a disease that we are in the
middle of right now. It's like taking Eisenhower off the battlefield in the middle of World
War II and say, okay, we're wrapped up, mission accomplished, this thing's done before we even
get into Europe. It's unreal. He's leaving the battlefield.
He's such a coward.
He's so incompetent.
And I can't stand the media anymore.
Having debates, oh, well, I wonder if Trump's was a little late.
I wonder if it had an effect.
Of course it had an effect.
We have 72,000 dead.
We lead the world by a huge amount.
Italy's number two or 29,000 deaths.
I understand, but the per capita situation,
our per capita situation for the rest of the world is a disaster.
and number of deaths, a number of cases.
The number of cases, we nearly triple, we triple and nearly quadruple the second largest country
with cases.
And why?
Because he sat on his hands for two months.
And so South Korea had testing within two days, two days, we still don't have adequate testing
in America.
And we're having a debate as to whether this is right or not.
And now he's taking his health officials and disbanding them and saying, no, we're
We're going to have no task force at all because this thing's solved already.
They're saying now, soon we will have up to 3,000 deaths a day.
That is a 9-11 every single day on Donald Trump's watch while he's hanging a mission
accomplished banner.
Yeah, it's, we have no leadership.
There's a lack of leadership.
And even in California, you know, this is anecdotal, but you see people.
not taking the social distancing order seriously anymore.
There was traffic on the freeway, you know, around where I live today,
based on what my husband told me when he was out buying groceries.
And the fish rots from the head down.
So if you have a lack of leadership in the federal government and you have the Trump
administration urging states to open their economies back up, open their businesses up,
that type of messaging, unfortunately, does get through to the general public.
and they start thinking, oh, well, maybe it's safe to go out.
And you're right, Jank, the thing that frustrates me the most about reporters is that they
humor Trump, right?
They entertain these debates.
It reminds me of how they were still debating whether or not Donald Trump is a racist
person two years into his administration.
Why are we having this debate?
It's obvious.
We know he's racist.
It's not worth debating anymore.
Let's move on.
At this point, it's abundantly clear that Trump was briefed about the severity of this
virus in January. It's been confirmed and he still didn't take it seriously. Lack of leadership
and even worse, his willingness to use this tragedy, this crisis to provide political favors
to people who have been supportive toward him. One example of that is how the small business
loans were given out. If you look at the number of small business loans and where most of the
money went, they went to red states. And the New York Post interviewed Trump about it.
He didn't try to hide that fact.
In fact, he said the following.
Trump echoed recent remarks by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who last month refused
to open federal coffers for blue state governments, including New York's, that have been hit
hard by the pandemic.
Here's what Trump said.
I think Congress is inclined to do a lot of things, but I don't think they're inclined to
do bailouts.
That's hilarious because they've done a massive amount of bailouts for major corporations.
A bailout is different than, you know, reimbursing for the plague.
It's not fair to the Republicans because all the states that need help, they're run by Democrats
in every case.
Florida is doing phenomenal.
Texas is doing phenomenal.
And Midwest, the Midwest, is, you know, fantastic, very little debt.
I find it incredible that a man who has all sorts of foreign debt as we speak has the audacity
to point to states that have his own.
own like people living in them and accuse them of having too much debt and say that they don't
need any help. It's disgusting. So the blue states give, I think about $160 billion more
than the red states of the federal government. I think it's time the blue states ask for their
money back. If you're not going to help us in a time of emergency, great. Then I don't want
to help you bums in all the red states. You guys are welfare queens. And I'm tired of it.
I'm not going to give you the money. Okay. New York has given 20, gives 22.
billion dollars more than it takes in from the federal government. They give me my goddamn money
back. Give me the 22 billion back. So they have every right to say that. Now, what I say
things like this, you know, it's not even Republicans. It's liberals who cry. I said it on Twitter
today and they're all like, oh my God, you can't do that. Yeah, you know what you do? Trump
and the Republicans bully you day in, day out, they push you around. And then when you get
hit with a disaster, a pandemic, he says, no, you got to kiss my ass to get money. And I'm not even
going to give it to you. That's what McConnell and Trump do. And what do you guys do? Instead of
fighting back, instead of fighting fire with fire, a lot of, most of the liberals sit there and cry.
Oh, Trump's not doing the right thing. Trump's such a meanie. Well, that God damn it,
why don't you fight back? Why don't you point out that we give more than they take, and they
take? And yes, I'm using welfare queen to throw back on them, you morons, okay? And they sit there
And they go, oh, no, no, we shouldn't do it. We shouldn't do. We shouldn't do what the Republicans
do. We should just cry. No, you fight back and you win. I'm so tired of Democratic softness.
Look at this bully standing around here in the middle of a pandemic with 72,000 dead saying,
I demand political favors. And the Democrats don't know how to fight back at all.
We got to take a quick break. But when we come back, we have a pretty devastating story
regarding the police brutality that's been taking place in New York City in their effort,
as they say, to enforce the social distancing rules.
We'll be back with that story and more.
We need to talk about a relatively new show called Un-F-E-NF-The Republic or UNFTR.
As a Young Turks fan, you already know that the government, the media, and corporations
are constantly peddling lies that serve the interests of the rich and powerful.
But now there's a podcast,
dedicated to unraveling those lies, debunking the conventional wisdom.
In each episode of Un-B-The-Republic or UNFTR, the host delves into a different historical
episode or topic that's generally misunderstood or purposely obfuscated by the so-called
powers that be. Featuring in-depth research, razor-sharp commentary, and just the right amount
of vulgarity, the UNFTR podcast takes a sledgehammer to what you thought you knew about
some of the nation's most sacred historical cows.
But don't just take my word for it.
The New York Times described UNFTR as consistently compelling and educational,
aiming to challenge conventional wisdom and upend the historical narratives that were taught in school.
For as the great philosopher Yoda once put it,
You must unlearn what you have learned.
And that's true whether you're in Jedi training,
or you're uprooting and exposing all the propaganda and disinformation you've been fed over the
course of your lifetime. So search for you and FDR in your podcast app today and get ready
to get informed, angered, and entertained all at the same time.
All right, back on a young tourist guys. And we're going to check it on the thermometer in a
second. But I also want you guys know, look, giving Tuesday is a phenomenon that normally
happens after Thanksgiving. They moved it up.
of coronavirus to help a lot of different folks, including businesses like ours, but you
can give charity to and other things, not just money, but food, clothing, et cetera, to so many
other organizations. Givingtuesday.org is where you should go to check that out. I want to read
some comments here, and then we'll go to our case in a second. On YouTube super chat, Hanny Banani
writes in, my super conservative dad has that old style microphone as a tattoo. He's getting a shirt.
You're welcome for the boomer representation. Well, Henning. I love it. That's awesome. Everybody who gives
$127 at t.com slash go as a present gets this we press on a t-shirt. So that's phenomenal. Gem I,
Gemini 93 Gallo also wrote in our YouTube super chat. Donated 15 bucks on the TYT donate page.
and now here, because I believe TYT is essential, especially during this pandemic.
Much love to Jank, Anna, John, J.R, Brent, and a whole TYT family.
Thank you, Gemini.
We super appreciate it.
Let me give one more here.
Alectic, Mr. Lania says, the young Turks warned us Trump could get elected when the mainstream media was in denial.
They gave a AOC a platform when others ignored her.
They tell it like it is.
I'm proud to support independent journalism by supporting TYT.
Hashtag giving Tuesday.
hashtag giving newsday. Thank you, man. Really, really appreciate it. Let's check in on t-y-t.com
slash go and see how we're doing. We're trying to raise 55,000 today to keep us sustainable.
That's amazing. I asked to see if we can get the 4 or 5,000 by the break. Wrong. 8,055.
Can we see 10,000 by the end of the hour? We've got a three-hour special coming up at the end of
this hour as well. So thank you guys, but it's so, so important. And we really appreciate it.
in these tough times. Anna, go ahead. All right. Mayor Bill de Blasio from New York has indicated
that New Yorkers can only be outdoors if they are wearing masks. And he has donated a significant
number of masks to the people living in all the boroughs. But unfortunately, not everyone
will follow these rules or the social distancing guidelines. And when you have an issue of
police brutality in New York City, which we all know has been the case for a long time now,
unfortunately there is a recipe for disaster. And that is what we're seeing with a few of the
viral videos online, including one featuring a police officer who has a history of
police brutality accusations against him. The city has actually spent thousands of dollars
in order to pay for settlements involving this officer. His name is Francisco Garcia. And in the
latest example, we see Francisco Garcia showing what kind of police brutality he gets engaged
in. Now, let me give you the details on what you're about to see on video, just to give you
context. The man who is apprehended by the cops in this video and treated brutally is Donnie Wright.
He's 33 years old. And one of the three people arrested during this encounter, he was
charged with assault on a police officer resisting arrest, menacing, and two counts of
disorderly conduct, okay? So those are serious charges. You should know what the consequences were for him.
But I want you to take a look at this video and see what the scene was like and ask yourself
whether or not this was the appropriate way for Officer Garcia to handle it. Take a look.
Move the f*** back.
Move the f*** back.
What are you flexed for?
No flex.
Why you're the last on to?
Look, look.
He didn't even do nothing.
He's gone.
He didn't even do nothing.
Look.
He didn't even do nothing.
He didn't even do nothing.
He's a p.
That's a, that's a f***.
You fuck out.
You got all that.
He got all that.
That's right.
That's right.
We got it off.
We got it off.
Let's go.
Back up.
Back up.
Back up.
Back up.
Make up.
Jeez.
So, look, we can't see what's happening off camera.
But we do see that the officer is approaching what sounds like a group of people.
a group of people while brandishing a taser. At that point, the cop gets physical with Donnie Wright
and throws him to the ground. And you can also see that he puts his knee on the back of
Donnie Wright's neck, which is incredibly dangerous. He could have easily killed him in that
way, either by suffocating him or snapping his neck. And even the police union in this case
found that video to be an issue, did not agree with the tactics that Garcia was using there.
And once you read about the history with Garcia, you understand what type of violence
he resorts to immediately when he should be de-escalating a situation.
Okay, we're going to get to the contrast of how they dealt with white New Yorkers instead
in a second, which if you're not already enraged, will send you, I hope, if you're a caring person,
into not into a rage, but into action to fight this injustice that happens so regularly.
It's just, it's demoralizing.
So okay, the ostensible reason for this is you guys aren't wearing masks.
Well, first of all, the cops aren't wearing masks.
So how does that help?
And okay, you need to be social distancing.
So we're going to tackle you and we're going to punch you in the face so you can have better
health. Really? Really? That makes sense. And you guys saw enough of that video to see why he threw
that guy down. It was not, I didn't have anything to a coronavirus or social distancing or mask.
Garcia didn't have a mascot. No, no, why you flex in? What does that mean? You're disrespecting
me. And biggest crime in America, it's in no law book at all. But if you say anything that's
slightly upsets a police officer, he will assault you, he will do a false arrest on you, and he might
endanger your life. So that's what happened there. Now, if they did that to everybody, it would be
outrageous. But what's worse is they only do it to blacks and Latinos. The fact that Garcia's
Latino doesn't make any difference at all. The question is, what are the orders from top down?
What is the culture that is created from top down in the NYPD and so many other police departments
across this country? You think they're going to do that to anybody on Wall Street? Wall Street's in the same
damn city. You think they're going to do it to anyone? Are you kidding me? Garcia would sweat himself.
He would soil himself at the idea of doing that to a banker. Because you know what would happen?
It wouldn't take seven infractions. The minute he even looked at a banker the wrong way, he'd be fired.
So it's disgusting what happens. Wait until you see the pictures.
So before I get to the pictures, I do want to give you the response from police officials.
He has had his badge and gun taken away pending an investigation and he's, it sounds like they've
given him like desk duty.
But part of the reason why I believe they finally acted here is because, again, Garcia does
have a history with brutality.
So for instance, according to a complaint that was filed back in 2013, Garcia allegedly told
a woman eating with her partner inside a Harlem restaurant that she dressed like a man and
then later called her a gay slur. A year later, Garcia was accused of wrongfully arresting a man
trying to visit his girlfriend inside a Washington Heights building. According to a federal
lawsuit, which the city settled for $27,500. Garcia forced the man to the floor face first,
then punched, kicked, and clubbed him. Okay? By the way, in the first case that I told you
about the city had to settle for $8,500.
Now, a police spokeswoman, Sergeant Mary Francis O'Donnell, said in a statement that, right,
the victim here, took a fighting stance against the officer when he was ordered to disperse
and that he was arrested and charged.
And I told you what his charges were.
Also, three people were arrested in that dust up, including two guys taken down by the
New York Police Department, as well as a woman who allegedly had her own stun gun.
And by the way, Garcia's alleging that the stun gun that he was brandishing was not his.
I'm not sure if I necessarily believe that.
That has not been confirmed, but that's what he's alleging.
And this is what we're dealing with.
I mean, we know that New York City has had a problem with police brutality.
And unfortunately now, they've been given, in their minds, a green light to enforce these social distancing guidelines and the mask guidelines, as viciously.
as they have been towards some members of the community. Now I want to fast forward to what we're hearing
to, hearing from the public advocate in New York. He's tweeted the following. There were pictures
of parks, for instance, that were full of people, many of whom were white and didn't seem like
that was an issue for anyone. Many of them are not wearing masks. But he also posted some imagery
of how black and brown people are being treated in New York City. He says, I don't know specifics
of each picture. I do know. We all must abide by social distancing rules. Too many people aren't,
and it's problematic. Many warned. New York City mayor about relying so heavily on the New York
police department, there's been no response to a request for summons slash arrests demographic data.
So we're going to stay on this story and see what the demographic breakdown is once it's
available. For now, it's not. But based on what we've seen in some,
of these viral videos, it seems like a lot of the emphasis is on certain neighborhoods
as opposed to others where people are obviously not following these social distancing guidelines.
So look, it's partly about race, partly about class. So in the richer parts of town,
people are not social distancing. You see it in the pictures. They're all jammed together
in a park. A, nothing happens. B, cops come by and politely give them mass. In the poorer
parts of town, the social distancing is not as bad, right? Like, is, they're not as clumped together
as they are in the, actually in the richer part of town. Who cares? They get ass kickings anyway.
Did Garcia look like he was politely handing out masks to them? No, no, politely, impolitely handing
out assault, one after another after another. Why? Because far too many cops in this country,
including in the NYPD, and yes, de Blasio has been trying to change it, but the NYPD has been
fighting him tooth and nail every single year. No, we like to have fun. We're the biggest
gang in New York. And we like to assault people. And we do it for a living. Now, we'll never
do it to white rich people. Never, ever, ever, because we value our jobs. And you think that if they
go around kicking the ass of bankers or people on the Upper East Side or by, you know, Park
Avenue that they're going to get an $8,000 settlement? No, no. A wealthy guy working in finance
or anything else like that, if a cop did that to him, what Garcia's done to countless people,
they'd get an $800,000 settlement. They'd get an $8 million settlement. They'd be like,
oh, our dude, can you believe what has happened to me? And by the way, they would deserve it.
And it shouldn't happen to them. But the problem is blacks and Latinos in this country
are invisible. So if it happens to a rich person, it'll be giant headline news.
When it happens to poor minorities, every single day in this.
this country, invisible, don't care, and the band plays on.
So, okay, finally, finally Garcia's taken off duty for a little while and let's see what
happens with it.
But they're not, this disparity is endless and infuriating.
Well, let's move on to one other story that's infuriating before we go to our break.
As we've seen, there have been a number of anti-Stay-at-home
protests throughout the country, many of which have been organized by right-wing groups who have
a financial incentive to prematurely open the country back up.
Now, unfortunately, based on what we're hearing from the FBI, one of the organizers of an
anti-state at-home protest in Colorado was found to be stalking away pipe bombs in his home.
A 53-year-old man is now facing federal charges after the FBI found four pipe bombs in his home.
including other materials to create additional pipe bombs.
Bradley Bunn apparently caught the attention of authorities when he was promoting a May 1st
armed rally against Colorado's stay-at-home order on social media.
In the days leading up to the protest, according to reports, investigators discovered social
media posts described as angry and aggressive.
Soon after, investigators received information that he was in possession of pipe bombs.
was arrested before he could attend the rally, luckily.
Now, here are the pictures that the FBI has released to show the evidence that they found.
This is one of the pipe bombs that they discovered.
And he did give a few hints on social media.
And I think that's the reason why the FBI was alerted to his behavior.
So for instance, on Bunn's Facebook page, there's a seal that reads, when tyranny becomes
law, rebellion becomes duty.
In a post, Bunn also stated he might not live much longer, which is pretty terrifying, especially
with what this country's experienced with mass shootings and usually what happens to the perpetrator
in those shootings.
But his daughter came forward and said that she was actually happy that he was arrested because
she felt that, you know, this is the best way to keep other people safe, of course, but also
to keep him safe. He apparently was in the military, was dishonorably discharged. We don't have
too many details on that. But clearly his time in the military had a negative impact on his mental
health. Yeah, well, whatever there was of it before. So, hey, hey, surprise, another right-wing
terrorist. Almost every terrorist arrested in this country in the last two years has been a white,
right wing terrorist, almost every single one. That's according to the FBI, that's according to the
ADL, and everyone who tracks it. So should we start profiling white people? Of course not.
But maybe we should stop profiling other races that aren't doing it. They just not. And so
under Trump, there's been a giant rise in white right wing terrorism. And are they treated as
terrorists, does the press talk about it? As if, oh, my God, there's a, oh, my, we got to be
careful. There's all these right-wing terrorists running around. No, no. Oh, yeah, okay, so another
right way or wanted to blow people up and kill them with bombs. That's not a big deal.
But Muslim does it. Oh, my God, this whole world is in big trouble. Muslims are irredeemably
violent on and on and with this crap. So, and it's not just about ethnicity. It's definitely
about the politics. So when the left wing does a protest, maybe the states literally consider
laws sanctioning, running them over with your vehicle and killing them, okay? And they talked
about arresting them. And then they started trying to pass laws where if a protester
talk to anyone else. But that person that they talked, you didn't even go to the press
protest, they're like, arrest them, which is just about the most unconstitutional thing.
you can imagine. Now, is there a big push to arrest anyone that these right-wing terrorists
has talked to before they went and did what they did? Nope. Because there's right-wing privilege,
right-wing privilege. The minute you, you know, you do anything to criticize them, they cry and cry,
oh, you can't say that about the right-wing. We can say anything we want about black people.
We can say anything we want about Muslims. You can say anything you want about Antifa. You can say
anything you want about left-wingers. Oh, my God, they're protesting oil pipelines. That's going
leak into our water and damage our kids. Monsters, run them over with your car, kill them,
who cares? Oh, poor right-wing terrorist pointing weapons against legislators in Michigan,
going and raiding the capital. A poor right-winging Bundy guys pointing weapons at cops
threatening to murder them. Poor right-winger who was going to do a pipe bomb and kill all these
people in the middle of coronavirus. No, no, no, no, you can't talk about it. We can't talk about it.
Those are the real terrorists in this country.
And by the way, read history.
That is the history of America.
The terrorists in this country have overwhelmingly been white, right wingers.
You know what?
Who fits that description to a T?
The clan, the biggest terrorist this country has ever seen.
So throughout its entire existence, all we've had is monsters like this, either threatening
to kill us or actually killing us and lynching us.
But what does the media do?
Oh, it's the brown people.
It's black people.
It's Latinos.
Oh, poor white, right-wingers.
No, no, no, no.
They're patriotic Americans, don't tread on me.
Patriots, my ass.
That guy's a criminal to spend the rest of his life in jail.
If there's going to be a Guantanamo Bay, he should be in it.
And FBI, credit where creditors do excellent job in apprehending him before he killed anyone.
We got to take a break when we come back an excellent TYT Investigates story that shows you

All right, I'm back on a young church.
Let me read a couple of member comments.
Pocket in a pocket-rights in, the only appropriate thing for a police officer do in a situation
where a citizen's not wearing a mask is to hand them a mask, which,
by the way, is what they're doing in the rich parts of New York, but not for blacks and Latinos
in the poorer areas.
Ross Steff writes in, meanwhile, the protesters in Michigan screaming police officers
faces and face no retribution.
That is absolutely right.
Welcome to America.
Brent Hudgin says, every time I see these videos with your commentary on TYT, one thing
is clear, the nationwide military style police force is how the establishment plans on defending
itself against the most downtrodden individuals in the country.
That's also right.
Last one is on YouTube super chat, Liz Smith, gave two bucks and said, wish I had more to give.
No, Liz, we love you for it.
You know, we appreciate every dollar and because it's, everybody's got a different economic
situation and these are tough times for everybody.
So if you can't give, please don't, okay?
Make sure you're taking care of yourself, your family first, okay?
But if you can, yes, small business like ours are also on hard times.
If you can help, that would be amazing.
And a lot of you have, and I love you for it.
So it's t-y-t.com slash go.
Today is giving Tuesday, also giving Newsday, and we're trying to raise $55,000.
And let's take a look at the thermometer, see where we are right now.
Amazing, 11,689.
Remember, guys, we have three more hours coming up for you guys, including the first hour
where I'm going to explain the five-year plan on how to take over the country for
Progressive.
So don't miss that.
Share the stream.
Tell family and friends.
And let's keep it going and see if.
we can hit our goal. All right, Anna. All right. Congress is considering a fourth stimulus bill,
and it's important to consider how this type of legislation is decided, how it's written,
what type of provisions it includes, especially when it comes to an industry that is looking
for a bailout, and that's the oil industry. Now, keep in mind that the fossil fuel companies
did not receive the bailouts that massive corporations did and small businesses did in the
previous stimulus bills, but lobbyists from these corporations, these oil companies, are now
working with Morgan Stanley in order to figure out just how to appeal to Democratic congressional
lawmakers in order to make sure that there are provisions that give them some money. So,
TYT investigates, with your help, by the way, was able to break a story. And by the way, they also have
the audio and the internal memo that Morgan Stanley wrote in regard to a meeting that they had
with oil industry lobbyists. So let me give you those details. And then we'll listen to some of the audio
from this phone call. So the report describes and links to audio of an April 22nd conference call
between Morgan Stanley and Aiken Gump, one of the top lobbying firms in Washington. Aiken Gump's team
consisted of a lawyer and four lobbyists. Two of them former members of Congress, they're
There's that revolving door again.
And the other two former Republican staffers.
So Aiken Gump works as the lobbying firm for ExxonMobil and for Chevron, to give you a sense
of who they're working with.
Morgan Stanley's internal report summarized a number of paths for potential financial support
for the fossil fuel industry, referring to, quote, a likelihood that Congress would authorize
a bailout in the form of purchasing oil for the government's strategic.
Petroleum Reserve. Now, if you guys can remember a few weeks ago, we shared a story with you
where Donald Trump was looking to help the fossil fuel industry by getting the government
to purchase a bunch of oil and store it in the strategic petroleum reserves. Democrats actually
fought him on that, and they won. But they're looking to get some help from members of Congress
so they can actually accomplish this.
So the report describes the unfavorable situation for oil and gas companies and says that
no money is expected from the next stimulus package, but the lobbyists see some possible tactics.
An oil bailout, it says, could be coupled with renewables tax credit extensions, while regulatory
support could be in the form of the strategic petroleum reserves purchases, relaxation in regulations,
and diplomatic support from negotiations with other oil producing countries.
So I want to now go to some of the audio because one of the former lawmakers involved in this call
was a former representative Lamar Smith, who's a Republican, and he starts strategizing in the clips
that you're about to hear. Take a listen.
Hopefully, as you just mentioned in the 4.0, the next big stimulus package, which is expected
to be as large as the CARES Act, that there will be some provisions in there that will be
helpful to the energy industry. One, there may be some more money for storage. I think specifically
there's going to be a big effort made to get loans to at least mid-sized energy companies
that are not necessarily qualifying for loans right now to try to help keep them afloat,
so you'll have additional funds for that. I think if the national security argument catches hold
as it should, that will justify and maybe persuade some hesitant members of Congress that
the energy industry is in a different category and definitely needs to be helped for the sake
of the economy, which also means for the sake of jobs as well.
Okay, Jank, so two notable things that I want to talk to you about from that clip.
So first of all, he mentioned, oh, the upcoming stimulus bill is expected to be as large
as the CARES Act, which we all know was a multi-trillel.
dollar handout bailout to massive corporations.
So I don't know how accurate his assessment is.
I don't know if it's actually going to be as massive as the CARES Act was, but that's something
to be concerned about because we know that the vast majority of funds did go to these corporations
in the form of bailouts.
Yeah.
I don't know if he's referring to the PPP, which was for small businesses, and the first
version of that was $359 billion, which compared to the giant amount they gave to the biggest
banks and businesses in the country was a relatively small amount. So I'm not sure if he's referring
to that or not. But this is business as usual in Washington. Giant corporations hire
connected former Congress people, including Democrats. The other guy on the call was Joe Donnelly,
former senator from Indiana. He lost his race, ran as a Republican light, and immediately became
a lobbyist, and now is helping oil companies and gets rich off of it. So when we say that
corporate Democrats aren't the same as progressives, a lot of the people in the media say,
how dare you? You guys are ruffians, barbarians. Joe Donnell is such a wonderful progressive
Democrat. Yeah, now working for Chevron and Exxon Mobil and trying to figure out how to take your taxpayer
money and put it in their pocket.
Exactly. And the second thing that stood out to me was the argument that the oil companies
are planning to use in order to get the money that they want. And they're going to push this
idea that, hey, you know what? It's all about national security. We want to keep the country
safe by giving a bailout to the oil companies. One thing that they also want to try doing,
by the way, is using tariffs on foreign oil in an effort to basically force Americans to purchase
oil produced here in the United States.
So T.W. Chang has been doing amazing reporting on this at TYT Investigates. This is why he has
so many reporting honors and awards throughout his career. I can't thank the Young Turks
audience enough for hiring him. And we did it through you guys. And he was charged with,
with following the money in the case of environmental issues.
And this is exactly what happens.
So they, in that same conversation, they also talked about, hey, we might have to, you know,
give some to the renewable energy companies in order to get the Democrats to play along so
that we could funnel the money to the big oil guys.
And so, and TWA is also written in the past about Harold Ham, a giant Republican donor,
the one that you're referring to there.
Now with his plan to do tariffs on oil coming inside the country, he has the oil produced
inside the country so that, you know, that would give him an unfair advantage.
And he's thinking Trump's doing tariffs anyway.
But as T.I reported, that was a little bit more complicated because there's also donors,
the big multinational oil companies don't want that, because they trade oil all across the world,
whereas Harold Hamm is getting oil from here.
So the donors are battling each other as well to see who's going to get the handouts from
the American taxpayers.
And since they have all these former congressmen and senators and staffers in their back pocket,
they're like, go talk to your buddies.
And don't worry, at the end of the day, Democrats will play along.
But to be fair, and credit where credit is due, so far they haven't, and so far they have
not allowed for subsidies to oil companies.
And I love that.
So if they keep fighting like that, I'm super happy to give them credit.
Yeah, absolutely, I agree. And understand that the tradeoff that they are proposing in order
to lure Democrats into agreeing to these provisions is, hey, we'll extend tax cuts for renewable
energy companies. But that doesn't do enough in pushing the country in the direction it needs
to go in, which is completely eliminating carbon emissions and focusing solely.
on renewable energies. This is an industry that's dying. They know they're dying. And they're
trying to milk the U.S. taxpayer as much as they can on their way out. And it's disgusting.
So I do commend Democratic lawmakers for not biting on this so far. But we're going to keep
our eyes on it and see how this story develops.
In fact, we've got more exclusives coming out for you guys, like that tape that they uncovered.
So check t.com every day. More breaking news on this as we go.
All right. Well, one final story for you before we go to our next hour. Donald Trump
has been trolling female journalists by suggesting that they behave like Donna Reid from It's
a Wonderful Life. So he's looking for female journalists who act like 1950s housewives. And
you know, I would, there are things I want. Like I would want a leader who doesn't cry and
whine all day about how the media's mean to him. But you don't always get what you want, right?
Now, he was talking about Donna Reed.
She was talking about a reporter, Paula Reid, during an interview with the New York Post,
and he said the following about her.
It wasn't Donna Reed, I can tell you that.
And Donna Reed actually responded to it and said, I'm sorry, Paula Reid responded to it and
basically said, fact check, that's correct.
I'm not a 1950s housewife, I'm a professional woman.
who's doing her job, asking Trump, you know, the questions that he should be asked.
We're in the middle of a pandemic.
And he apparently can't handle it and needs to immediately resort to saying disgusting,
misogynistic things about women.
And he said that she was angry and mean.
I mean, there isn't a stereotype that Donald Trump doesn't love.
His old, old head is filled with that garbage.
And he's never grown.
He's never matured.
He's still the same little spoiled brat and he's sitting here in the year 2020 telling female
reporters that they should act like docile housewives from the 1950s.
It's gross.
It's always been gross.
The only thing worse is Republican women who vote for that and go, yay, that's right, send
us back to the kitchen, presumably bare feet, and tending to your needs.
But like, so for the men who support him, though, like, understand that he is, like,
he positions himself as like the strong alpha male, but he has a difficult time getting
mildly challenging questions from female reporters.
Like, I would argue a strong man, like an alpha male is a leader who's not afraid of
questions and can answer them in a straightforward way without any worry.
Instead, Trump cries and whines, you know, to give you his exact quote about Ree,
He said, Paula Reid, she's sitting there and I say, how angry?
I mean, what's the purpose?
They're not even tough questions.
You know that they are.
But you see the attitude of these people.
It's like incredible.
No, I see the attitude of you.
You're the most powerful person in the world.
And you can't handle questions from reporters.
You crumble and then you start crying and having a complete nutter meltdown.
It's ridiculous.
All right.
When are you going to stop crying, Donald?
Donnie, for God's sake, stop crying.
All right.
