You're listening to The Young Turks, the online news show.
Make sure to follow and rate our show with not one, not two, not three, not four, but five stars.
You're awesome. Thank you.
There are some problems here. Sorry, big time.
I'm so upset. Oh my God.
On today's show, David Pine, one of the individuals who worked on the arrow two missile interceptor system,
which Israel took all the credit for and won't share the intellectual property with us.
for, even though we paid for it and we developed it. Yeah, he's going to be on the show today,
but for members only, one of the conversations that I'm really, really looking forward to
this week. So for our members, you are in for a treat, David Pine, who was the subject of a massive
drop site story. One of the main sources for that story will be one of the people I interview
today. So that'll be in the bonus episode, t.com slash join. We're also going to have Glenn Greenwald
join us for hour two, where we're going to dive into some spicy topics.
including the possibility that the FBI is framing the so-called suspect in the DC pipe bombing story.
So that case is really fascinating and it's very complicated.
So I'm glad that Greenwald will be here to kind of help suss out some of the more, let's say,
suspicious elements to that story.
Welcome to the Young Turks.
I'm your host, Anna Kasparian.
You are in for a fantastic show today.
I do say so myself.
Me and my team worked really hard on the show today, and we've got a lot to get to.
So without further ado, let's give you some updates on the UN General Assembly in New York City.
I can report to you with pride that America is back and our country is stronger today than ever before.
Our economy is the envy of the world.
If you notice there, President Trump paused with the expectation that he would get,
a round of applause during his UN General Assembly speech. Obviously, no one clapped. And honestly,
much of his speech was humiliating for the American people. And I don't say that based on,
you know, partisan hostility toward Trump. I say that because genuinely speaking,
our country looks clownish on the international stage. And I don't think it's because of the
American people. I think it's due to the corrupt political system.
and the politicians who signed up to represent us, but are doing the exact opposite.
They are humiliating us. They are showing the entire international community, the limitations
of our military power. And we are severing ties with longstanding allies, both in trade
and when it comes to certain security packs. So let's get to the details of what happened today
at the UN General Assembly. This is an event that happens annually. And maybe there wasn't a round
of applause for President Donald Trump because of the fact that the United States has worked
really hard to destroy the global economy in order to fight Israel's war against Iran.
And look, either way, all Trump did during his speech was double down on his absolute insanity.
Take a look.
I have a big decision to make.
Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country?
than it ever was before, maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world.
Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy
people and countries again? Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope
of future greatness or generations?
Nice. So he used some of the time in his UN General Assembly speech to threaten
nuking Iran, threaten Iran with nukes, basically. Either you do as I say, or I will annihilate
you, which, you know, the president, he's a little older, you know, during a different
press conference today, he asked, where's Marco, meaning Marco Rubio, and Marco Rubio was
literally sitting next to him during the press conference. So maybe Trump has a difficult time
catching on to certain things because of his age, you know, because of the cognitive decline.
But fact of the matter is, this tactic has not worked when it comes to Iran. They have not moved
even an inch when it comes to their demands. And their demands were clearly outlined in the
MOU that the president of the United States, Donald Trump, the man we're hearing from, signed
himself. He agreed to it. And he broke his promises, much like the broken promises to his base,
the American people. And so he follows up the threat of annihilating Iran with nukes. Let's just be
honest about what he's saying there. By saying this, let's take a look. But I believe we'll make a deal
right after the election because it doesn't make sense for them not to. They're waiting to see
how I do in the midterm election. What they don't realize is that I'm not running. I did that already.
and won in a landslide. We won in a giant landslide. And I'll be here for two and a half years. The Republican Party is running, and I'll be helping them. But I am not running. I gave absolutely no credence and will not give credence to the election when it comes to Iran. It doesn't even enter my mind. The only thing that does is that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.
Right. So immediately after he threatens to nuke Iran, he then goes on to say that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon because Iran is such a threat to the world because Iran is so violent and dangerous. What? But he was honest about one thing there. He was honest about the fact that he doesn't care about anyone other than himself. He doesn't care about the Republican Party. He doesn't care about the midterms. He doesn't care about the
fact that there will be a shalacking of epic proportions for the Republican Party, thanks to Trump's
stupid decision to enter this war against Iran, which has led to what? Egg on our face, depleted
munitions, depleted interceptors, a disastrous energy crisis that's only going to get worse,
the longer this goes on. He doesn't care. He doesn't care about how that impacts the Republican
Party. Homeboy was a lifelong Democrat until he decided to run for president and all of a sudden
he's a Republican. He doesn't care. This was the big hang up I had with Trump when it came to
whether or not he's a fascist. Because I don't think he's driven by ideology. He's driven by narcissism
and ego. However, the result of his behavior ends up being fascistic. So it's unbelievable how
selfish this guy is. Now, Trump lashes out even though he's fully aware of the limitations of the
U.S. military power right now. He knows the limitations better than anyone else. And look, we can't
beat the Houthis. Trump gave up on beating the Houthis last year after two months of warfare
against them. And we're unable to defend our allies in the Middle East, including our Gulf
allies. So what is this? He needs, I get that he wants a win, which is why he's like focusing
hard on this like so-called deal for Greenland. And you know, he's hoping that these are the types of
wins that help his legacy and also help the Republicans clinch the midterms. That's not going to happen.
It's just not going to happen. At the end of the day, people are motivated and incentivized
based on their own pocketbooks.
Voters are galvanized based on how political leadership is impacting their personal financial
situation. And right now, Americans are struggling. And you can't put lipstick on a pig.
Now, the markets seem to react favorably to a report, both in Reuters and a Japanese outlet
known as Kyoto News. And that report claimed that Iran is willing to open the straight
poor moose if the United States eases its blockade of Iranian ports. I am very skeptical of that
reporting. Why? Well, both sources, the Japanese source and Reuters, they both relied on the same
unnamed senior Iranian government official. Obviously, Trump and supporters of the war against Iran
care deeply about how the stock market's doing. I mean, it seems like they couldn't care less
about how ordinary consumers are impacted by this war.
But they are very concerned about the stock market.
So who knows who this source is?
I was skeptical of it.
And it turns out I was right to be skeptical of it because the Iranians have already
denied the report.
In fact, Iran has become more and more hawkish the longer this war has gone on.
And honestly, it does not seem that the story is true, considering today, literally
today.
And this is also shocking.
We learned that both Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Besson conceded that the administration is actually considering an export ban on diesel.
In fact, here is Trump.
This is straight from the horse's mouth.
Take a look.
Senator Solomon today has called for a ban on diesel exports, a temporary ban.
What?
A ban on diesel exports?
Chuck Grassley called for the same thing.
Mike Rogers called for the same thing.
Is that something you're considering this?
Well, I've called for that too.
I've said, let's not send out the diesel.
We make a lot of diesel.
I could have a little bit of an effect on regular automobile gasoline,
because when you do that, you know, it's sort of a flow, it's a balance.
But no, I've called for it.
I've called for it within my people.
I've been talking about it.
Scott, do you want to talk about that person?
Yeah, we're examining that, whether it's feasible
in terms of the overall refining capacity,
and whether a full or partial ban would work.
Is there is a timeline for decision on that basis?
Fast, one way or the other.
Fast.
One way or the other, fast.
Now, it remains to be seen whether or not there will be an export ban on diesel.
But if there is an export ban on diesel, understand what we are signaling to the international community.
We are signaling that we decided to start a war against Iran on Israel's behalf, which has turned to a war of attrition, a quagmire, a war against a country that did not pose a threat.
to the United States in any way, shape, or form, a war that was unnecessary considering former
DNI, Tulsi Gabbard, had testified before Congress prior to the war to indicate that our intelligence
found that Iran was not building nuclear weapons. So we will deny the global markets, diesel,
if we do the export man. And I understand, look, I'm an American. At the end of the day, I, of course,
want to prioritize America. So I see the upside of doing that. But it doesn't come without consequences.
That's what I'm trying to say. So we start a war that causes this epic energy crisis, especially when
it comes to diesel. It's our fault that we did this. And then we're going to leave everyone on the
international community, especially our allies, to hang. Like, high and dry. Sorry. I mean,
It's just, it is a disaster, especially if you happen to be someone who's concerned about the
multipolar situation.
We are obviously already in with China being as ascendant as it is.
Because China looks like the adult in the room.
While the US just keeps stirring the pot, causing all sorts of trouble and death.
So that's where we're at.
I mean, the UN General Assembly this year, you could feel the tension in the room.
You certainly can.
Now, there were other things Trump brought up during his speech, which included how successful
his operation in Venezuela was.
Okay, well, think about what that signals to the world.
Okay, so in other words, the criminal patted himself on the back for literally kidnapping a foreign
leader and his wife to steal.
This is what it was all about.
We all know this, right?
Please tell me we all know this.
It was all done in order to steal Venezuela's oil so we can launch a war against Iran on Israel's behalf and have a new source of oil that we can tap into.
That's what this war.
That's what the kidnapping of Maduro was actually about.
That's what it was about.
So disgusting.
That's what he's signaling to the world.
And then because Trump can't help himself, he took credit for something else.
Let's take a quick look at this.
One year ago, when I addressed the great leaders in this hall, the war in Gaza was still raging brutally.
The hostages were still deep in Hamas tunnels, and there was no end in sight.
It was never going to be resolved.
But here on the sidelines of the General Assembly, we took the first steps that changed everything.
A few weeks later, we ended the war in Gaza, saving untold thousands.
of lives. I want to express my gratitude to the United Nations Security Council for their
unanimous endorsement of our 20-point Gaza Peace Plan and for officially approving the Board
of Peace. It's going to be a very significant group of people.

There is no peace in Gaza.
The Israelis who Trump wants to provide another nearly $3 billion in 2,000 pound bombs to
is currently bombing tents, literally killing refugees who have been displaced
because pretty much every building in Gaza has been leveled by the Israelis who seek to take the land for themselves.
Like, what Gaza Board of Peace? What are we even talking about here?
The Israelis are bombing tents as we speak. There is no end in sight. In fact, the Israelis have
already moved on to terrorizing Palestinians in the West Bank, carrying out the so-called Gaza model,
as Isaac Herzog likes to say in South Lebanon.
And then they are ramping things up in Syria as well as we speak.
That's a newer development.
What peace?
What peace?
Just shameful, man, absolutely shameful.
But, I mean, what else did we expect?
What else did we expect?
I want to talk about some of the other moments that stood out to me.
And it really highlighted the era we're in.
So during the annual UN General Assembly in New York City, what really highlighted the era of conflict that we find ourselves in was how often, you know, walkouts happened.
So people would walk out delegations in particular would walk out during certain speeches.
And so I want to start off with Iran because the Iranian delegation, or at least the important members of the Iranian delegation, didn't even bother walking out because they didn't even show up for.
Trump's speech. So let's take a look at this post on X by Ryan Rosbiani, who says,
Iran's foreign minister, Abasarachi and his delegation walked out before President Trump's speech.
It appears only one person stayed behind who stared down Trump the whole time.
But there were other instances of delegations walking out, especially when it came to some of the
statements that Trump was making during his speech. So let's take a look at what he had to say.
about Cuba and how the Cuban delegation reacted to it.
My administration is also seeking a fundamental change in the situation in Cuba,
where the communist regime is under great pressure, the biggest pressure they've ever been
under.
It's an absolutely failed state.
It's failing like never before, and it will fall.
Marco Rubio is handling a negotiation.
He's deep into negotiations with Cuba.
Let's see what happens.
We'll not allow a haven for foreign adversaries to threaten America on our own doorstep.
It's right at our doorstep.
The Cuban regime has also spent decades coordinating with the left-wing radicals and communist networks here in the United States.
As our State Department has detailed, they've cultivated ties to subversive and radical groups,
such as the Communist Party, USA, Antifa, and the Democrat Socialists of America.
Well, your State Department has no validity. It's not credible. It's being led by Marco Rubio,
a Cuban American, who's had an axe to grind with Cuba since the moment he was born,
his own personal little pet project. Yeah, so spare me the nonsense about like,
oh, this is what the State Department says. I'm sure they do. I don't really care.
But you want to talk about a failed state.
Cuba is for the most part a failed state because the United States couldn't accept that
they had a revolution, whether you like it or not.
And since we were unwilling to accept that, there's been an endless blockade, embargo
on Cuba crushing ordinary civilians, as we all know.
It's all manufactured to create a failed state.
But who's embargoing the United States?
Because we are a failed state.
We are a failed state.
Most Americans are living in poverty at this point.
Credit card debt is at record levels with interest topping 35% in some cases.
We are a failed state.
And it's our own, I don't want to say it's our own doing.
It's our government's doing.
The United States government is at war against its own people.
And it's been that way for a long time now.
So for him to stand there and say Cuba's a failed state,
knowing full well what we, the United States of America,
have been doing to Cuba, is just so laughable.
So the Cuban delegation, in my opinion, rightfully walked out of this murderous monster's stupid speech.
I mean, what war aren't we willing to start at this point?
Oh, I know, just one, just one.
The one country we probably should be at war with, Israel, we're not at war with.
We're doing their dirty work for them.
Speaking of Israel, at one point, the Turkish president, Erdogan, of course, was giving his speech.
He touched on growing anti-Semitism, but the bulk of his speech focused on the atrocities committed in Gaza.
Now, of course, those atrocities committed by the Israelis hasn't really persuasive.
waited Erdogan to stop trade with Israel or to listen to the demands of the United States as it
pertains to cutting Iran off economically speaking. So, and I mean, why would Erdogan do that?
Why would the U.S. ask Erdogan to do that? Well, for Israel, of course. So he talks a big talk,
and I liked some of his speech, what he had to say. But make no mistake about it, while the people of
Turkey would like Erdogan to actually engage in policy that punishes Israel.
You know, the country that's starting to ramp up war against Turkey as we speak, that country.
The leadership in Turkey, Erdogan in particular, his actions really do counter what you're
about to hear him say during his speech.
And if you pay close attention, you'll notice the Israelis who have some sort of illness
where they're never able to look inward or take personal responsibility for their own war crimes,
they walk out, take a look.
Those in Palestine, in Lebanon, Sudan, and in other crisis zones who have tied their hopes
to the UN are deeply disappointed.
But let me remind you that one day, everyone will have to seek refuge in the collective conscience
of humanity. Today we may feel safe. We may feel prosperous and at peace. Today we may live in comfort,
far away from conflict zones and from crisis areas. But none of us knows what tomorrow will
bring or what might happen to us. They're going to bomb you, Erdogan. They're going to bomb you.
eventually, they're going to come for you.
You know that.
You know that.
But you have no problem selling oil to Israel.
You have no problem making business deals with Israel.
You know what's coming.
And you are emboldening it.
You're empowering it.
You are supporting it through your actions.
That's just the truth.
That is the truth.
Israel should be alienated on the international stage.
But what we have is cowardice on display day in and day out
by world leaders and especially the leaders of Middle Eastern countries, especially.
Some of my favorite designs on ShopTYT are Get Caught Trying and Team Joy.

Syrian leader Ahmed al-Shara or Al-Jalani was just, you know, couldn't be bothered with what Erdogan.
had to say wasn't really paying attention. I-24 News had a shot of him just scrolling through
Instagram as Erdogan was talking about the crimes the Israelis have committed against the Palestinian
people in Gaza. I mean, Israel wanted to arm al-Qaeda terrorists and treat them in their
hospitals for a reason, didn't they? But they're still not happy with Jolani. There's some concern
that the Israelis might assassinate him.
So we'll see.
We'll see what happens.
Israel is a terrorist state.
They are at the heart of all of the conflicts.
One of these Zionist organizations has been putting out like these graphics of one of my quotes as if I'm saying something inaccurate.
My quote is something along the lines of Israel is the greatest threat to world peace.
Where's the lie?
Please share that quote far and wide.
I am proud of it because it's the truth.
They think that's anti-Semitic.
No, it's just the truth.
It's just the truth.
Anyway, we got to take a break.
When we come back, lots more to get to.
I wanted to talk about Trump's, you know,
meeting with Mom Dani, which there's some interesting inside info that you might not know about.
So I'll share that with you.
But before we get to that, we got to talk about the Paramount Warner Brothers merger
that absolutely is going to happen.
and it's because Democrats have basically helped the deal to go through.
I'll explain all of that and more when we come back. Don't miss it.
America is back and our country is stronger today than ever before.
Art guy writes in and says Cuba is failing because the U.S. is making it fail.
Funny how he didn't mention that.
Of course he didn't mention that.
But let's also not pretend as though Obama would do the same.
You think Obama? Well, actually, to be fair, no, no, no, I'm not being fair to Obama.
Obama actually lifted the embargo, and I thought that was the right path forward.
So I'm being unfair, so I take that back.
But historically speaking, Democratic presidents were totally cool with the embargo.
They wanted to keep it in place.
And when talking about how Cuba's a failed state, they would never mention the embargo and the role that it plays.
Winston Smith, the second, says, why would anyone make a deal with the United States
or Israel, right? I totally agree. There is a common understanding that Israel nor the United States
will not adhere to the terms. Our reputation is well established under Trump. It breaks my heart
because this will have ramifications for future generations in this country and they don't deserve it.
Okay. Nader Studio 2377, thank you so much for the super chat. Thank you to everyone.
our members, super chatters, people who donate to the show.
Thank you to everyone for keeping us afloat,
especially at this incredibly difficult time where anyone covering the news,
the way we cover it, is under attack, not just through rhetoric, but also financially.
So thank you for giving me a voice and allowing me to do what I do every day on the show.
I really, really appreciate it.
Bossman in our ex-community says, yep, I'm buried in credit card debt and burying fuel and groceries.
buying fuel and groceries.
Unfortunately, we have some bad news when it comes to, you know,
free and independent journalism here in the United States,
especially when it comes to some of our legacy platforms.
So let's talk about the latest in the Paramount Warner Brothers merger
that appears is going to go through.
So here are the details.
Looks like David Ellison's quest to consolidate and control,
more U.S. media and entertainment under the banner of Israel First propaganda will actually go through.
Now, what am I talking about here? I'm talking about the proposed Paramount and Warner Brothers merger,
which a group of states claimed they were going to work really hard to prevent,
but it turns out that the state leading that charge ended up folding in a very pathetic way.
So this coalition of states was led by California. They sued to block this $81 billion merger.
Now, some of you might not know, so let me just back up a little bit. David Ellison recently did the Skydance Paramount merger.
Now he is seeking to basically merge Paramount with Warner Brothers. And Warner Brothers, of course,
is a consolidated company that includes, you know, brands like CNN, HBO, you get the picture.
So in other words, you're going to have one guy who told the Financial Times that he hired Barry Weiss
to be the head of news at CBS because she's Israel first.
That guy is going to control pretty much all of our media.
But there's also other foreign interests at play.
So I can't wait to share that detail with you.
Just hold on for that.
So the coalition of 11 states that tried to block Ellison's Paramount from merging with Warner
brothers was led by California's Attorney General.
His name is Rob Bonta.
And for a brief moment, I made the mistake of thinking maybe Bonta isn't as bad as I thought.
And it turns out he is as weak as you can expect any democratic politician to be.
So let me make my case.
He folded under the pressure of California's governor, Gavin Newsom, who is a scumbag of epic proportions.
I've been warning everyone about that.
A lot of Democratic voters think like, oh, I know as a Republican because she's mean to Gavin
Newsom.
No, Gavin Newsome is scum.
And so what Newsom did, okay, is he started behind the scenes whining and crying about how,
oh, but what if Paramount leaves the state?
It's going to be so bad, we're going to lose so many jobs.
Guess what?
actually leads to more job losses in the state of California.
So he's behind the scenes pressuring Banta to like loosen up.
You know, I'll loosen up on my buddy Ellison.
Let him do the merger.
You know, agree to a settlement, if you will, where we get some concessions from Ellison.
And this settlement is a joke.
The concessions aren't really concessions, and I'm going to explain why.
So Paramount did threaten to leave the state.
of California by October 1st and that it would hurt California's economy unless Ellison gets his way
and the merger goes through. So the Wall Street Journal claims that Paramount was already in talks
to move to Tennessee. And then Gavin Newsom, of course, is in a panic about this. He starts
pressuring Bonta to fold because losing Paramount would hurt the state. Newsom himself has been
destructive to the state. Homelessness has
has exploded under his watch.
Crime exploded under his watch.
Now things have gotten a little bit better,
but he's a complete, nother disaster.
He is not at all driven by principle.
He has no values, which is why on one hand,
he can promote policy that would literally
criminally punish parents who don't accept,
don't allow their children to transition.
And then at the same time,
At the same time, he'll go on Charlie Kirk's podcast and say, yeah, it's unfair to include
transgender women in women's sports.
Like who are you and what do you actually believe?
And much like Trump, Gavin Newsom believes in one thing and one thing only, himself, himself.
He's planning on running for president.
And he knows that if there are more job losses in the state of California, it's not going
to reflect so well on his record, right?
Well, I've got news for you, Newsome, your record is trash.
And I can't wait for you to run because I can't wait to remind everyone or inform people who might not know what a piece of crap you are.
But anyway, let's get back to this merger.
Newsom was concerned Bonta would lose at trial and at times acted as an unofficial mediator between the two sides.
So people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal.
Publicly, though, Banta did engage in some tough talk, likely knowing he was going to fold.
So just last Thursday, it hasn't even been a week, literally last Thursday.
This is what he said of Paramount.
Quote, if they make that choice to leave, that is their choice and their choice alone.
Basically saying, look, I'm undeterred, okay?
I'm going to move forward with this lawsuit that includes this coalition of states who want to block the merger.
But in the end, Ellison had his way with him.
There's no question.
Bonta said Monday that he,
He was satisfied with concessions.
The attorneys general won on behalf of workers, but stressed the settlement is not a vote
of support for this merger.
No, no, no, no.
You don't get to have your cake and eat it to.
You don't get to allow the merger to go through, basically drop this suit, and then say,
I'm not co-signing onto this merger.
No, no, but you are.
You're helping by saying you accept the settlement of concessions.
What are the concessions?
Newsom called the agreement a win for California workers in our creative community.
Is it?
Is it a win?
Because if you read the fine print, and I did, that is a lie.
And I want to show you the receipts.
So the merger now means that David Ellison will now control Paramount, which of course
includes CBS, CNN, HBO Max, and a host of other television channels.
And if you read the Wall Street Journal's exclusive on this settlement between the Coalition of States and Ellison, you would be under the impression that, look, Ellison made all sorts of major concessions, including keeping entertainment production in California, increasing the production of films made in the state of California, and also maintaining the editorial independence of
CBS, let's pause for laughter, and CNN.
But as you can imagine, smoke and mirrors, all a lie.
You just got to always, guys, this is the most important thing.
If you want to know the truth, you have to read the source material.
In this case, the terms of this settlement, which will explain to you exactly what the concessions are.
If you just rely on corporate media to summarize the concessions for you, the way they want to summarize it,
you're going to be misinformed, intentionally so.
Yeah, I'm calling the Wall Street Journal out.
Totally lying about this merger.
So when it comes to film production in California,
the settlement requires allegedly Paramount to meet a quota.
At least that's the way the Wall Street Journal sold it to us.
They write.
The parties have also considered potential penalties of Paramount
doesn't make good on an earlier pledge to make 30 movies a year after the merger,
including having to sell its stake in Miramax.
So basically, if you don't make a minimum of 30 films a year in California,
well, then we're going to force you to sell Miramax because, you know, Ellison, he owns that too.
What the Wall Street Journal fails to report is that 30 films happens to be less than the number of films
Paramount and Warner Brothers produced last year combined.
Remember, this is a merger.
Before the merger happens, you have two separate entities that produce films.
The two separate entities produced more than 30 films last year.
Okay.
So the settlement will allow fewer films to be produced.
And let's actually read the fine print as highlighted by Alvaro Badoia.
He's the host of Fair Fight podcast.
This is an actual screenshot from the terms of the settlement.
Okay.
And if you see at the very end, the highlighted,
portion reads as follows. For each of the commitment years, at least 50% of the films subject
to this section shall be produced or jointly produced by the combined entity. Okay, do you guys
get that you're being lied to by the Wall Street Journal? Some of my favorite designs on Shop

We've been using Shopify to run our merch store at shopty.com,

So Badoia also notes that Ellison did not agree to make, that is, produce 30 films a year.
He agreed to make 15 films a year, and he only agreed to distribute the rest.
Paramount, by the way, made 18 films last year.
18.
And here's how the Wall Street Journal reported this so-called concession.
Ellison made his biggest concession yet to spend at least $1.5 billion more on domestic production over five years.
People familiar with the offer said.
So that is obviously going to appeal to other states that joined this coalition of states that filed the lawsuit in order to attempt to prevent the merger from taking place.
So what about editorial control, right?
Seems like there were some concessions when it comes to editorial independence.
You would be moronic to believe that.
The whole reason why Ellison wants to buy up all the media is because he wants to control messaging on Israel, on Israel specifically.
And you see that play out on CBS.
I mean, it's just so obvious.
So, like, the idea that he would, like, spend all this money $81 billion and allow for editorial independence is so funny.
to me. Anyone who believes that is hilarious. Some of the most gullible people on the planet.
So the Wall Street Journal says that the settlement addresses the concern of the lack of
editorial independence if this merger goes through. The sides, though, have explored the creation
of a board to ensure that CNN retains editorial independence. Oh, really? Is that what they
were exploring? Impressive. Except there's a major caveat, guys, major caveat that the Wall Street
Journal weirdly left out of their reporting. So strange. As Matt Stoller pointed out, let's take a
look at another screenshot of the terms of this settlement. Editorial Independence Board
Members shall be appointed by the Combined Entities Board of Directors. In other words, David
Ellison.
David Ellison and his cronies will get to decide who's on the, it's not going to be some
independent third party.
No, come on.
Sadly, this merger is going to go through the Writers Guild of America, which filed a
separate lawsuit in July, announced on Monday that it could not afford to continue the
legal battle alone and that it had settled its lawsuit as well.
And if you're wondering what the cherry on top is, the foreign influence in this
country is absolutely disgusting. And while Israel certainly has the most undue influence over
this country, it's not just Israel. Our politicians are happy, happy to sell this country out.
So the deal follows the FCC's September 17th decision allowing sovereign wealth funds from Saudi
Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE to hold a non-voting 49.5% stake in the merged company.
So Warren Gunnells, who worked on policy for Bernie Sanders, puts it well.
Here's what he says.
49% of these U.S. media assets will be owned by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and UAE.
15 out of the 19 hijackers on 9-11 were from Saudi Arabia.
Two were from the UAE.
Saudi's crown prince ordered the assassination of Washington Post journalist with a
Bonesaw America First, how bizarre.
Yep.
We don't live in a sovereign country, guys.
It is so obvious and we have to do something about it.
And it isn't just one party that ushered this disgusting, corrupt environment in.
I want to go to a final video because this highlights and really emphasizes what I'm talking about here.
This is Max Blumenthal on Tucker Carlson's podcast yesterday.
I think he spells it out perfectly.
Take a look.
About a week after Charlie Kirk was assassinated,
his podcast, which was being broadcast on Salem Media,
was effectively taken over by a federally registered Israeli foreign agent,
which was being, yeah.
It's called Clock Tower X, which is operating this gigantic,
I don't want to say multi-million.
And it's like 100 million, 50 million.
It's one of the biggest foreign lobbying contracts ever.
It's operating it on behalf of the Israeli foreign ministry.
It's being run by Brad Pascal, who is Trump's chief of staff in 2020.
Remember, he got Baker acted, like his house was raided.
On video, he got video.
It's a very ugly scene.
He was fired.
I'm actually surprised they fired him, given who else they don't fire.
But he, you know, and he had created, like, Trump's whole Facebook strategy, like,
including like the seemingly like bots and probably he was a talented guy. Israel hires him,
plucks him out of the wilderness and he takes over Salem Media, which is one of the largest
pro-Maga, pro-Republican conservative media platforms. They had Charlie Kirk's podcast,
but they have like they've Scott Jennings podcast who's being talked about as possibly the
next White House press secretary. All these people are kind of like involved with the Israeli
foreign ministry now. Who got a 30% stake in Salem Media? Lara Trump, Trump's daughter-in-law, and I believe
Don Jr. So they are seemingly involved somehow in this contract. And then they also have
themselves or are doing business with Israeli drone companies, which are getting contracts also to do
anti-drone technology in Iran. There's all kinds of incentivization.
to maintain this relationship.
We're an occupied country.
I mean, how much more evidence do you need?
This government doesn't serve the American people.
It serves its own interests and foreign interests.
And the reason why it serves foreign interests is because they're corrupt and they benefit
from doing so on a personal level.
So Gavin Newsome is a scumbag.
It is my absolute mission in life at this point to convince Americans that you,
you are being misled by this like two party system that we supposedly live under.
It is not a two party system on the issues that impact your day to day, the most important
issues.
So there you have it. Paramount expects to close the deal in about two weeks. We'll be right
back.
Merge.
What's up, everyone? Welcome back to the show. Welcome back to our social break, I should say.
All right. Viva Samud, Pact resistor says, Mr. Trump, the judge.
general assembly has voted, you're officially shamed. Please stop treating the planet like a hotel you
refuse to pay for. Kindly sit down, hair, Mussolini, diaper wearing, drum, Antonio, meaning I think
Antonio Gutierrez. He did give a pretty passionate speech. Fawaz Ahmadz, Jad says,
according to Gemini, three out of seven things he said was false, misleading, or exaggerated,
such as Operation Midnight Hammer claim.
Foz, I love you.
Of course he's lying.
Of course he's lying.
More than, believe me, more than three lies.
Okay, way more than three lies.
But I'll read the rest of your comment.
As Operation Midnight Hammer claim he made because U.S. strikes severely damaged key above ground facilities
and surface infrastructure, deeply buried underground sites such as Bordeaux, were hardened
against conventional strikes.
That's why they're talking about using tactical nukes,
otherwise known as nuclear weapons on pickaxe Mountain.
It's just Anthony writes in and says,
I notice the left is mad about an actual authoritarian dictator being taken out of power
while constantly calling Trump an authoritarian.
I don't know which dictator you're talking about, to be honest with you.
There's a lot of them, and we do business with them.
We support them.
We arm them.
But Trump is an authoritarian.
Are you going to deny that?
I mean, think about what he wants to do to free speech.
He is an authoritarian.
So I didn't even think about this, but in our super chat section, we have,
It's My Fault 81, who says of the merger, the biggest loss would be John Oliver's show.
So obviously the viewer loves John Oliver's show, and that would be a loss,
depending on whether or not you like his show or not.
But even if you don't like his show, it would be a loss.
So John Oliver is highly critical, of course, of Trump.
But more importantly, early on in the genocide, I remember Oliver doing a pretty good segment about what was happening to Palestinians and the crimes against humanity that were being carried out by the Israelis.
Oh, John Oliver's show will be canceled when the merger happens. I guarantee it. And it sucks because, look, I love HBO. HBO just consistently puts out great entertainment, great content, great shows.
If what happens to HBO mirrors what we saw with CBS, I mean, it's an expensive subscription.
So I guess I'd save some money.
But I would can't, I mean, when the merger happens, I'm canceling my subscription.
I'm not putting money in that man's pocket if I can, you know, help it to some extent.
I know I can't prevent all of it.
But I'm not paying for that subscription with David Ellison owning HBO.
Hell no.
But you make a good point.
You make an absolutely good point.
And it would be similarly wrong if like a conservative.
show ends up getting canceled because of these, you know, conglomerates and these mega mergers
going through.
Americans should be able to hear perspectives across the political spectrum and not have one
person control, like, 85% of the messaging in our media.
Anyway, okay, let's do one more story before we bring Glenn Greenwald in for the second
hour.
Let's talk about Trump's, like, strange affection toward Zoran Mamdani and how people
are melting down over it.
This afternoon, President Trump and I met at Gracie Mansion to discuss the city we both
are so fortunate to serve New York City.
Each time the president and I speak is about the same topics, how to improve the lives of
New Yorkers and how to use the power of government to take on the cost of living crisis,
to grow our economy, and to build a better, stronger New York.
I certainly hope he will be a great mayor. You have to understand. I want what's good for New York.
it's good for the country. So if I had a choice of having him be a bad mayor or horrible mayor,
I don't want that. I want him to be a great mayor. And he certainly got potential. Got great
potential. Some of my favorite designs on ShopTYTYT are get caught trying and team joy. And let me tell you,

There you hear Donald Trump yet again being incredibly complimentary to the New York City mayor
that Israel firsters who now occupy most of Trump's base meltdown over every single day.
I mean, the meltdowns over Zoran Mamdani simply because he's Muslim.
They never point to actual policies they have issues with.
It's always he's a jihadi.
Like, what?
What?
It's just because he's Muslim, right?
So there's a certain form of bigotry that's totally accepted, widely accepted in the United States.
It's disgusting.
Like you got a problem with his policies.
All right, let's have a conversation about it.
Let's debate about it.
Like, I love that wonky stuff.
And to be sure, you know, he campaigned on a few things that I didn't really agree with necessarily.
But like, you want to have a debate about that.
Great.
But these people don't care about the policy.
What they care about is the fact that Zoran Mamdani is a Muslim American who is critical of Israel.
that's it. So when you have the president of the United States like blushing and smiling and almost
like flirting with Mom Donnie, you have people like Laura Lumer totally freaking out. So we're going to
get to her in just a minute and you don't want to miss a chef's kiss. So delicious. I mean,
we got to like latch on to whatever we can get in today's environment, right? Like there isn't a lot
of great things going on, but I'm here for Laura Lumer melting down. Before we get to that, though,
Let's talk about what this meeting was.
Now, Mamdani hasn't even been mayor for a year yet.
Okay?
And what's amazing is that Trump has met with him three times already.
Three times.
That's incredible.
So why?
Why are they having these meetings?
Well, apparently, Momdani is the one who invited Trump to have a conversation.
The conversation centered on the New York Police Department,
building more housing in New York City, which I was happy to hear, because oftentimes when it comes to democratic proposals for the housing crisis, they focus on subsidies only. But the big issue is the inventory of housing. So obviously, Mom Doni is focused on housing developments that can ease the cost of rent. And I think that's the right way to go about it. If you look back at the 1980s, there were rent freezes that had
consequences that I'm concerned about. And it seems like he's aware of that, which is why he's
pushing to build more housing. Anyway, they also spoke about immigration. And by the way, here's a little
bit of a backdrop that you should know about. Mamdani just last week announced that he, along with a
coalition of cities that he is leading, are going to sue the Trump administration over a new federal
rule that targets immigrants. So I don't want to get too sidetracked on this, but I just want to
give you a few details about the lawsuit. So the rule that the coalition of cities is trying to
fight against allows the federal government to deny green cards to immigrants who have received
any public assistance. And so the new rule, they believe wrongfully broadens the definition to
include immigrants receiving temporary or supplemental assistance. And immigrants that the Fed suspect
would become dependent. So like, I guess trying to predict whether an immigrant would be
dependent on, you know, public programs could also allow them to deny green cards to said immigrants
trying to come into the country, the legal way going through the process. And in addition to this,
the Trump administration has also canceled the temporary protected status for Haitians.
So Mom Doni has decided to spearhead this coalition of cities in this lawsuit. That just
happened. And so this meeting is happening. And Trump is
behaving the way he is, even with Mamdani filing that lawsuit, which makes the story even more
incredible. So despite all that, Trump seemed very goo-gu-gu-gaga in the presence of Mamdani,
despite this legal battle. And Mamdani really didn't shy away from talking about immigration
in the presence of the president. So let's take a look at that.
The president and I have both been very frank about the many disagreements that we have.
and immigration is one of those places.
We've both spoken about very different approaches, very different beliefs.
And I will continue to have conversations with the president and frankly with anyone who can
deliver relief to the people of the city.
That's a leader.
That man, whether you agree with his policies or not, at the end of the day, he's a leader
because he is trying to find solutions.
And if that means having to work with someone.
you vehemently disagree with.
At the end of the day, Trump, whether you like it or not, is the president of the United States.
So when it comes to a housing development that Mamdani really wants to build in New York City,
you're going to need federal funding for that.
And so I don't know how he does it.
It takes a certain level of finesse to do what Mamdani does because he is able to disagree with Trump,
even in Trump's presence.
I mean, you can notice that during their, you know, joint press conference, while also getting
Trump to like him and potentially help fund one of Momdani's projects, housing projects.
Now, whether or not that actually goes through remains to be seen, but it's just, it's incredible
stuff. So Mamdani told reporters that the conversation with Trump was productive and that he
told Trump the Haitian community. He said this out loud, okay, that the Haitian community
was a critical part of the city's economic backbone.
And Trump seemingly reacted to it by softening his own stance on the issue.
Let's take a look at that.
Are here on protected status and it's been removed.
Well, the mayor feels very strongly about it.
I can tell you, and he did bring it up.
But he feels very, very strongly about it.
I feel strongly about a lot of things.
I feel strongly about taking care of people.
And that's what we do.
we're doing a good job of it.
What? What?
Oh, man.
That was pretty incredible.
Now, despite their differences,
Mom Dani says that he invited Trump for a meeting in order to work together
to address the affordability crisis,
the affordability issues that Trump himself claimed that he wanted to do something about.
So Mom Dani clearly cares about the people of New York City so much that he's willing
to have some sort of relationship with Trump.
He's willing to have these negotiations and these conversations with Trump.
And I don't think Mom Doni likes Trump.
I don't think that he loves the fact that Trump is the president of the United States.
But he also understands how to wield power, how to secure deals that are going to benefit the people you represent.
So that's what a leader does.
They put their own personal animus or feelings aside.
And they try to find the best path forward to actually accomplish the policies that will benefit his or her constituents.
And I love to see that.
That's not me co-signing on anything Trump has done.
That's not me saying I think Trump is a great leader.
This is me saying, Mom Doni is a leader, a great leader who's willing to take stock of the
situation he's currently in and do what he thinks needs to be done in order to secure wins for
his own constituents.
Now, that includes the construction of this new housing development.
I want to give you a few details about it.
So that potential project calling for 12,000 housing units to be built above a multi-billion dollar platform,
atop Sunnyside Yard, was actually first broached when the two met in February at the White House.
So a major project like that obviously is going to need federal funding.
And so we don't know if Trump promised anything to Mom Donnie on this particular matter.
We don't even know the details of the conversation.
We just know they discuss this housing project.
But Mamdani claims that Trump promised to take the project to the next level.
Caviad, of course, Trump promises a lot of things that he doesn't actually fulfill.
But let's hear more about that project.
What we're speaking about is 12,000 homes, 30,000 jobs, the prospect of an entire new neighborhood in a city where housing is the number one cost.
And I appreciate the president, his interest in this.
We also know the president, not just as the leader of the country, but also as someone who has built quite a lot of housing here in our city.
I don't know, Mr. President, you want to add anything?
Well, I can tell you that Sunnyside's a big job.
I've been watching that for 35 years.
Everybody's wanted to do something with Sunnyside Yards.
Well, we met at the White House a couple of times, but we met at the White House.
The mayor brought that up, the possibility of doing Sunnyside Yards.
It's a very, I would say, that was a very federal-oriented job.
You're going to need a lot of federal approvals and probably some federal money to do it.
But it's always been a great location.
I owned a building in Sunnyside.
It was a great building.
I know it very well.

What happened to that building?
Anyway,
Look, we are $40 trillion in debt and counting.
If we're going to spend any money, it should be on housing projects and things that actually ease the pressure off Americans.
But Trump has done none of that.
And he has focused his resources or the country's resources, which is really, we don't have much resources.
Like, we're so much in debt.
He's putting us deeper in debt in order to fight Israel's world.
wars in the Middle East. It is destroying this country, financially, morally, in many ways.
So I don't have much hope when it comes to Trump, but I do have hope in Mom Dani because he's trying.
And so we'll see what comes of this. But in the meantime, the really important thing to take away
from Trump's meeting with Mom Dani is the reactions to it. Because people who hate Mom Dani,
simply because he's a Muslim, freaked the F out. Take a look.
I have said time and again that I will work with anyone, no matter what party they belong to,
no matter how much we may disagree on other topics, whoever has the power and the will to lift
that weight off New Yorkers' backs. So there's two things about the president. He cares about his city,
born and raised here. And so he's never going to truly abandon this city. Number two is he's
likes to get things done and he'll work with anyone.
Zerun Mandami has been smart about it, even though they spar publicly.
He calls the president when he has an issue.
They're able to reach some common ground on some things, not going to get anything that
you want.
And honestly, if you talk with people in Washington, this is the way things used to be.
It didn't used to be so hostile when it came to getting things done for the American people.
New York City Mayor Zeranamamani had what he called.
a productive meeting with President Trump prior to the UN General Assembly, which kicked off today.
And while some Republicans, like Lawrence Jones, over at Fox News, can see the positives in Mom Donnie and Trump coming together.
Others in the MAGA community do not agree.
And that's putting it lightly.
So let's have a little bit of fun.
Brianna Morello, who I don't know if she still works at, well, Info Wars doesn't exist anymore.
But she used to work at Info Wars.
President Trump calls Mom Dani a communist.
Now Trump tells Mom Dany to his face.
He has great potential.
So that was a pretty mild, you know, post.
But it's going to go from mild to just absolute meltdowns.
Let's go to Sid Rosenberg.
It's so good.
It's so good.
Days like today make me consider going back to sports.
Please go back to sports.
That'd be great.
Sad but true.
What good is the fight?
if we are not all in on the, if we are not all in this together, you might as well refer to my city
now as New Yorkistan. Okay, so Sid Rosenberg is just a bigot, a racist. That's it. That's all he is.
But let's give you more. That terrorist scumbag, why is he a terrorist? Because I don't know,
Israel supporters, Zionists think that all Muslims are terrorists, because they have to condition
Americans to think that they're terrorists in order for us to be complicit in the slaughter of
innocence in the Middle East on behalf of Israel. Is that why Sid Rosenberg? But let's go to the
rest of it. He says that terrorist scumbag, Mahmood Khalil, is at Yom Kippur breakfast in Brooklyn.
And my president is complimenting that jihadi terrorist rat F. You get the picture.
Any receipts on Mamdani being a jihadi?
Or do you just think all Muslims, by definition, are jihadis?
Because I think you're a terrorist, Sid.
You aid and abet and support terrorism.
The Israelis are terrorists, and you support Israel.
I think Israel is far more dangerous than Iran is.
Israel has proven itself to be the biggest hindrance to world peace for decades now.
So, Sid also crashed out on his radio show, so maybe he should go back to sports.
But in the meantime, this is the kind of quality content you can hear from Sid. Take a look.
But of all days, President Trump, your daughter is Jewish.
Your beloved son-in-law, Jared Kushner is Jewish.
The grandchildren that you love and you're a great-grandfather, great.
They're Jewish.
and you're going to meet with this piece of garbage on Yom Kippur
and buddy up to this guy on Yom Kippur?
This has now gone on way too long.
We had two meetings at the Oval Office where the president went out of his way,
went out of his way to compliment Mamdani, smile, shook his hand.
Oh, keep crying, keep crying.
Sorry that not everyone has a bigoted racist mindset like you do.
But anyway, let's go to Mark Levin, the unfortunate hog that has some sway over this administration.
He says, Mamdani is a Marxist, maybe Islamist-American-hating POS.
He and his DSA are destroying our country.
Oh, the...
Mom Dani and the DSA are destroying our country.
Tell me again why we have a energy shortage that's tanking the global economy as we speak.
Tell me why, what is it, 19 officially, but likely more American service members have been slaughtered in the Middle East recently?
Why is that?
Is it to fight Israel's war against Iran to help Israel build its little empire in the Middle East?
Is that why Mark Liven?
And you have the freaking audacity to say that Mamdani and the DSA destroyed.
our country, we spent $8 trillion fighting Israel's wars in the so-called global war on terror.
You have the audacity to claim that a mayor who hasn't even been in office for a full year
is the one who destroyed our country. Is he the one who put us $40 trillion in debt?
You piece of...
Let's go to Laura Lumer because, I mean, Laura Lumer is literally a mental patient.
Like, she should be institutionalized, but unfortunately, our president is taking advice from her.
She says of the meeting between Mom Donnie and Trump, I'm pissed off.
When are you not pissed off?
We work so hard to combat the radical left and the anti-American Islamic jihadists who work to destroy our country every day.
And for what?
So they can be rewarded?
There is never going to be any accountability.
I realize that today.
Can you imagine?
Like, again, a woman whose own father institutionalized her.
because she is insane, is advising the literal president of the United States.
She has more sway than our former counterterrorism chief, Joe Kent had.
Do you understand that?
And she says there's never going to be any accountability.
Like, for what?
What did Mom Donnie do?
What do you want accountability for, bitch?
What about the country you support that's slaughtering children as if they're playing a freaking video game?
Do you ever care about any accountability in that regard? You don't, right? So you can keep crying.
There's more. Let me give you one more. And then we'll wrap this up.
She says, I'm a diehard Trump supporter. And today, I am feeling demoralized good.
Because Mom Dani is a full-blown communist jihadist. No evidence of that, of course.
is the spiritual leader of the communists in America. That might be true. And he met with the president
today in New York City, less than 45 days before the midterms while his wife is celebrating October
7th. And while, what? Okay, so that's a lie. Mamdani's wife is not celebrating October 7th.
And while Jews are being slaughtered in New York City by Muslims, okay, this woman needs to be
institutionalized, totally making things up. By the way, Laura Lumer is the person who,
reacted to Muslims getting gunned down at a mosque in San Diego earlier this year by saying,
we need to round Muslims up and deport them for their own safety.
She also said the feds should conduct raids at mosques to round Muslims up.
Listen, every action has an equal or more intense opposite reaction.
And that day's coming for you, Laura.
That day's coming for you.
So I can't wait.
Final thing I'll say about the Mamdani meeting with Trump.
So let's go to the political playbook reporter Will Steakin, who says Trump's joint presser
with Mom Dany was not originally planned.
Source familiar with Playbook says or tells Playbook.
Mom Dani asked Trump on the spot if he would join him and called on the three news outlets
Trump banned from the White House.
So the three outlets, of course, were Politico, MS Now, and CNN.
Now, to most people paying close attention, this looks like a subtle jab at Trump.
But you have to also think about this from Trump's perspective.
And it gives you a sense of how strategic Mom Dani is.
From Trump's perspective, Mom Dani is complimenting him by inviting him to take part in this
press conference.
And we all know Trump is a ham.
He loves media attention.
So I have no doubt he took it as a compliment.
And that primes the president, the buttered up president to be extra complimentary to Mom Dani during the press conference.
It's so genius.
And by the way, it looks like Trump didn't even really want to leave.
Take a look at this.
Thank you.
Appreciate it.
All right.
The mayor will have time for a few more questions.
We can go to New York One.
Got Kelly Mena over here.
Hi, right over here.
How are you?
The president is still here.
The president's still here.
I want to follow up on what he said about the mayor.
The mayor, you said Mr. President is with the mayor.
Sorry, just before you go, the president is saying you can answer a couple more questions.
Oh, okay, great.
Yep.
He didn't want to leave.
He loves that sweet, sweet mom, Donnie presence.
It was so incredible.
Anyway, cry harder, Lumer.
I'm enjoying every minute of it.
We'll be back with Glenn Greenwald and more.
You don't want to miss it.
It's going to be maybe our finest hour.
We'll be right back.
President Trump, who obviously loves me.
Hey, Andrew, what's up?
Hey, Jake, you ready to make the switch?
Yeah, I guess.
I promise it's easy.
Universal, basic, and you get income.
Yeah, you keep saying that.
But you sure I'm going to have coverage?
Of course you will.
You think I would have bad service?
I'm Andrew Yang.
Of course I have good service.
All right, let's try.
But I'm so bad at tech.
So, wait.
Should I do this thing of the hashtag business?
Andrew, you're still on, right?
Yep.
Oh, I see it.
You crazy.
Oh, wait, I don't see it.
Oh, yeah, I do see it.
Here we go.
I actually did not realize that you'd be searching in real time, but I love it.
How much do people actually normally say?
Yeah, the average American is going to save between $500 and $1,000 a year on Noble.
Yeah, no.
You know what I'm going to do, Andrew?
Are you ready to become a noble member?
The two buttons are do it and go back.
There's no going back.
We're doing it.
We're doing it.
Here we go, Noble Mobile Mobile.
Oh my gosh, I just called you and are you now on Noble and not Verizon?
Why didn't you tell me it was going to be super easy?
I know, man.
Now you just stay away from your phone and watch the money roll in.
I can do that.
You can go phone, yeah.
Jank, you still there?
Andrew?
Oh, well, at least I got Noble Mo.
It was really just one take.
The whole thing is wild.
It's in my shoes.
This in my shoes.
Hi, I'm Brett Ehrlich with Breaking News with Brett Ehrlich. This is Breaking News with Brett Ehrlich. Hi, Brett Ehrlich here.
According to EPA head Scott Pruitt, climate change is not happening. He cited a meme on Facebook he saw.
When pressed to back up this source, he said it must be accurate because the watermark said it was made by a scientist.
So your move, truth?
At TYT, our mission is to boldly pursue truth, challenge the establishment, and drive
positive change. At a time when corporate capture of our media, our government, and our politics
is nearly absolute. Everyday working people need a champion of fight for them and a pushback
against the powerful interests that threaten our democracy itself. At TYT, we're proudly progressive
and call out corruption and duplicity wherever we see it from Republicans, Democrats, or anyone
else. And unlike mainstream news media outlets, we're not beholden to corporate advertisers,
to defense contractors, to Wall Street, or to Big Pharma.
We only have to answer to our audience, and for nearly two decades.
We've accomplished that by delivering honest, timely, and insightful perspectives on the day's
news without fear or favor or concern for whose toes we might step on or which powerful
elites we might offend.
And while we're super serious about the news, we also manage to do it in a way that is
fun and lighthearted.
We can do this together and serve our audience.
and yes, have fun doing it.
People have died for us to have the chance to vote.
This is just the beginning of a much bigger fight over
the president's desire to interfere in the midterm elections.
He's deploying multiple strategies using every tool available
and testing out each one of them.
You're damn right.
We're going to have ICE surround the polls come November.
to stop people.
We have got to be pumped up.
We are winning in Iran.
Welcome back to the show, everyone.
I just want to read one comment from our super chats and then we'll move on to the rest.
So Fouaz writes in and says, in reference to the Paramount Warner Brothers merger,
Lena Kahn explicitly warned us about Microsoft Activision.
She predicted standard consolidation leads to higher prices and massive workers.
layoffs exactly what happened. Exactly. I mean, mergers don't add jobs. Like by nature,
mergers typically shed more jobs for American workers. So I guess you can have that to look
forward to, even though Gavin Newsom claimed that preventing the merger would actually lead to
job losses. Newsom is the worst. Anyway, let's leave that aside for now, because joining us
now is the great Glenn Greenwald, Glenn, another hour that we get to host together, which I'm very
excited about, because you know, you're one of these people who has a skeptical eye when it comes
to official government narratives. And I appreciate that because usually there's a lot of backlash
that you have to deal with when you're willing to challenge official government narratives.
People think you're some sort of kook or whatever. But you've proven to be right more often than not.
certainly when it came to Russia Gate, I had egg on my face in that regard. So I'm really excited
to have you because there's a different story that I really want you to weigh in on regarding January 6th.
Anyway, how are you doing? I'm good. I do feel compelled to tell the audience, even though I don't
like to boast of my successes that we did both of us and many other people on the internet.
This is Lavender Test, where GROC AI measures you for what your likely score would be for the
horrific algorithm Israel uses to decide who in Gaza is.
is really a threat. And you got a very good score and you were very proud of it. Everyone was
congratulating for you. And then I did it and my score was actually higher. It was. If you detect any
resentment toward me from Anna tonight, it's because of a little bit of residual anger that I
surpassed. Yeah, jealousy that I got a higher score. Well, make no mistake. There are people who got
higher ones. Was that? Yeah, there are people who got higher ones. But make no mistake. Whether it's
my 68, what was yours out of 100?
I think it was 78 or something.
Both of us would be...
More than yours is how we call it.
Both of us would be killed by Israel and our entire families, if not our entire block.
Yeah. The entire neighborhood.
Yeah. 100%.
So at the end of the day, we both end up in the same place.
Totally. Well, okay. Now, let's talk a little bit about a story that caught my attention.
And I really don't know what to make of it other than the fact that the suspect at the center of this is an autistic
black man and the case against him seems thin. But it has to do with the, you know, the DC pipe
bomber. You know, this was a case that for five years, we didn't have a suspect. And now suddenly we do.
And people are questioning whether this individual is being framed. Let's get into the details.
I got a call from, as I said at the outset, someone I know in the federal government who's
highly informed and very experienced and skeptical of everything was like, this is the craziest thing
I've ever seen. They grabbed this random autistic guy and put him in jail. Like right after Steve Baker
named this federal employee as the pipe bomber, this is shocking that this could happen. And this is a
federal employee who told me this in a relevant agency. Last year, the FBI arrested a young man
by the name of Brian Cole Jr. as the prime suspect who allegedly planted pipe bombs outside of
the RNC and DNC headquarters on January 5th, 2021, a day before the January 6th riots. But many suspect
that he's actually being framed, including his own parents, who say that their son couldn't have
possibly had a motive to commit this crime. Now, of course, his parents are going to say that.
Parents always think their kids are innocent, even if they've committed a crime.
So that doesn't necessarily mean much, but there are a few things that stand out to me about this case.
The parents also allege that the government has yet to provide a motive for why their son would carry out this crime.
So let's get to the context. On January 5th, 2021, someone in a gray hoodie planted pipe bombs outside of the DNC and RNC headquarters in D.C.
which were discovered the next day on January 6th.
In fact, they were discovered, like, one of them right before and one just as the riots were underway.
And obviously, we're talking about pipe bomb.
So that is going to draw a lot of law enforcement attention away from an area where the riots are taking place.
Now, the federal government investigated the matter for almost five years without identifying a suspect.
They repeatedly begged the public for tips, they offered a huge cash reward for any information,
and then suddenly in December out of nowhere last year, a 30-year-old Brian Cole Jr. was arrested
for the incident. So Cole Jr. was indicted on four felony counts, including interstate
transportation of explosives, malicious attempt to use explosives, attempt to use weapons of mass
destruction, and act of terrorism while armed. Now, he could face light.
in prison if he is convicted of terrorism or weapons of mass destruction charges.
And we should also start by noting that according to officials, Brian Paul Jr. confessed
to the crime. But you should also know that he is autistic. That is an important detail to the
story. And there have been many instances in which authorities have been able to force a false
confession from a suspect. So with that in mind, he could have been pressured into a
a confession by authorities, and here's how.
The government has said that he confessed to this crime, and it is widely known,
universally known, and there have been studies that show it, that prove it, that people
with autism are much more likely to falsely confess to crimes they did not commit because
autistic people sometimes have a great deal of emotional intensity.
They are pleasers.
They just want it to stop.
They will admit, and studies have shown this, to anything.
if you push them hard enough.
And so the fact that I'm reading in the paper that an autistic man confessed to a crime
means a lot less than if you confess to a crime or I confess to a crime.
It's like this is a well-known thing.
So look, there have been instances of suspects who are not autistic and they end up confessing to a crime.
They did not commit.
So that is true and it's important to keep in mind.
Now, what did the government claim?
So the Justice Department said that Cole told investigators that he believed that the 2020 election had been tampered with and that, quote, someone needs to speak up, end quote.
Over the course of a 90-minute interview, investigators said he walked the interviewing agents in detail through his construction, transportation, and planting of the pipe bombs.
But even the confession based on the telling of the federal government isn't so cut and dry.
Cole allegedly told investigators that he disliked both political parties and didn't consider
himself a political person.
In fact, his parents say that he wasn't interested in politics at all.
But after the 2020 election, this is what the feds are saying.
After the 2020 election, when it first seemed like something was wrong and stuff started
happening, Cole Jr. began following the issue closely on YouTube and Reddit and felt
bewildered the court documents said. Prosecutors alleged Cole told them that he bought the bomb
making materials between 2018 and 2020, which I think is incredibly strange. Okay, so really he bought
bomb making materials as early as 2018. Like, did he predict that there was going to be some
funny business with the 2020 election? It just doesn't, it doesn't make sense to me. But before we hear
from his parents. I want to bring Glenn Greenwald in and get your thoughts on this, Glenn.
Yeah, I think there's a lot of reasons to be skeptical here without necessarily concluding
that he's innocent because we don't have access to the whole case file, the evidence or anything
like that. So I just, before I get into my analysis of it, I just want to point out a couple facts.
One is that he confessed only after hours and hours and hours of interrogation where he was
vehemently denying he played any role in it. So it wasn't like they just brought him in and
like after 15 minutes, he's like, yeah, I did it. Here's how he was insistent that he had no role in it.
He was shocked. And then only after many hours of being badgered by obviously highly trained
FBI interrogators who are experts of manipulating people, scaring people. And of course,
you add onto the autism. Only then did he quote unquote confess. But even the confession is
conveyed by the government doesn't make sense to me in terms of motive. Because one motive is he got
convinced after the 2020 election that it was actually the byproduct of fraud. But then,
Then the other explanation is he dislikes both parties, which are really contradictory to me,
because if he, his motive was that he was convinced that Joe Biden beat Donald Trump as a result of fraud,
why would he want to put a bomb outside of the RNC, that he would see the RNC necessarily as a victim,
as the victim of fraud. That's Trump's RNC on whose behalf he's supposedly engaging in terrorism.
So this makes no sense either. And it's not surprising because this is a very apolitical recluse who lives with his parents,
Never bothered anybody, never engaged in political activism, never showed any kind of political preference.
And then suddenly he goes out and plants bombs at the RNC and the DNC.
So before I just get into the evidence, let me just give you this one analytical framework that I think is crucial.
I think the analogy that I always have in mind when I think about this case were the 2001 anthrax attacks,
which I reported on for years.
And just to remind people who don't know, the anthrax attacks were sent to major newsrooms,
to government officials, senators, and it was only about a month off 9-11.
So we remember like the paranoia and the anger and the fear that 9-11 produced, but really
it was the anthrax attacks that radically ratcheted up the fear levels.
And right away within like days, government officials were leaking to Brian Ross and ABC News
that they did test on the anthrax.
And it was almost certainly Saddam Hussein's biological weapons program, that it had all
the telltale signs of the way Sodom makes anthrax.
John McCain went on David Letterman like two, three weeks after 9-11.
And he said, we know basically for certain that this anthrax came from Saddam Hussein.
So they were exploiting the fears around this to already exaggerate the threat of Saddam Hussein based on total eyes.
Just like this case, they didn't resolve the case until seven years later.
They originally after admitting it wasn't Saddam, years later when the invasion was done, they accused an army scientist.
It wasn't him.
He sued.
he won defamation damages.
And then finally, like in 2007, they said, oh, we found out who actually did it.
And they said, it turns out it was actually sent from a U.S. Army lab.
Wow.
Oh, this anthrax was like highly weaponized.
It's only done for like by a few countries that really are evil and operate with like
highly weaponized anthrax.
Turns out it came from the U.S. Army, a U.S. Army scientist.
But he never had to put on trial because he conveniently killed himself.
right as the FBI was closing in.
So we never had to test the government's claims, which were very weak in terms of it.
But it did its job.
It was like it was like a politically exploited crisis that really ratcheted up the fear level.
And it came from the U.S. government.
So now just compare that to what happened here.
The U.S. government had a huge incentive as in many other power centers to depict January 6,
not as like a protest that became violent, which it did, or not as a protest that led to property
damage, which it did, but like as an actual coup attempt, as a genuine attempt to violently
overthrow the U.S. government. And this component, you know, if you look at what happened to the
Capitol, it's kind of hard to conclude that, right? Like nobody brand just a weapon. It was subdued
after two hours. You know, it was a protest that definitely turned into a violent riot. But to create
that as an insurrection, a real attempt to overthrow the government is kind of difficult.
But when you add onto that, that there were bombs outside the RNC and the DNC that really starts to,
you know, amplify the fear around January 6th, just like Anthrax did with the threat of Iraq.
And so, you know, it took six years, which I think is very odd because most places in the U.S. are under heavily,
a heavy surveillance where everything is detected in one way or the other.
But especially near the capital and outside the RNC and D.
I mean, Kamala Harris was like very close by, you know, to where the bomb was supposedly planted.
We don't have that. It took six years to, you know, troll through the surveillance and the facts to find this guy.
And then also let's remember that Dan Bongino, who, you know, has always been well connected to parts of the security services and the armed agents of the United States, had been saying for a long time, this was an inside job.
He knew for sure that it was the FBI that planted these bombs, someone acting on behalf of the FBI.
And then it turns out he gets into the FBI, associate director's chair.
And he's like, oh, I was wrong.
The evidence is super tight.
It wasn't an inside job.
Congratulations to the FBI.
You finally caught the culprit.
And then it turns out the evidence that they, usually with like a prosecutorial press release and DOJ press release,
they purposely exclude exculpatory evidence and heavily emphasize to convince you,
that it's such a clear-cut case of guilt. They emphasize all that you read that press release.
I don't think I've ever read a week or DOJ press release. There's like nothing there.
Right. And so all you have really is this confession, which as you correctly pointed out,
isn't just for autistic people, maybe especially still, but we know so many times false concessions
get extracted, especially after, you know, it's one thing for like the local police in a small
town to interrogate you. They're bringing in the highest skilled, most like trained FBI interrogators.
they could probably get a confession out of anybody after a certain amount of time.
And to do it here just seems so easy.
So just to give the audience Dan Bongino's statement prior to joining the FBI, let's go to Graphic 13.
This is what he said in November of 2024, quote, there is a massive cover up because the person who planted those pipe bombs, they don't want you to know who it was because it's either a connected anti-Trump insider.
Or this was an inside job.
Those bombs were planted there.
This was a setup.
I have zero doubt.
That's what he said.
I'm not co-signing onto what he's saying about this necessarily being an inside job.
My concern at this moment isn't to promote a theory, but mostly to talk about the facts of the case as we know them at this moment.
And you're absolutely right about the DOJ press release.
I read that thinking to myself, how did they conclude that this guy is the same?
suspect. Like, where did this come from? And so what you should know to the audience about,
you know, his upbringing and everything. So his family is upper middle class, their bail bondsman,
and he does live with his parents. And his parents spoke to Tucker Carlson about this case,
about their son. And they had some interesting things to say. So the parents told Tucker Carlson
that their son had no motive for this alleged attack and that the government didn't provide
any explanation to them. Like they didn't even explain what they believe their son's motive is to the
parents. So here they are explaining their interactions. By the way, they've been like so complimentary
to like the investigators in this case. They're like they've been very polite and very nice,
but we think that, you know, they have the wrong person. Anyway, let's hear more from the parents.
The government, I think, is under the obligation to provide a coherent motive to explain
why we arrested this person and are still holding him in jail.
I haven't heard one.
You haven't?
No.
I haven't heard no motives at all.
None.
Can you think of a motive?
No.
No.
Not at all.
Do you think that if your son, since he does live at home and works at the family business
and is autistic and gets up at 6 a.m. to walk his dog to 7.11,
do you think if he was planning a bombing that you might have noticed?
I would think so.
I mean, that is a good point.
I mean, he's he's autistic.
He's living with his parents.
If he's like plotting to bomb the RNC and DNC headquarters,
they might have had some hint that there's something going on.
And again, his parents also stated that he never showed any interest in politics.
We don't have to go to that video because I want to just go to one other element to the story
that I'm not promoting, but this is the perspective of some on the right.
So this brings us to a woman by the name of Shawnee Kirkoff.
She is a former Capitol Police Officer.
She was a police officer at the time that these pipe bombs were planted or put near the
RNC and DNC headquarters.
She's now working for the CIA.
But anyway, shortly before Cole Jr.'s arrest, the Blaze had published this investigation
arguing that Kirkoff could be the suspect.
Now, the report has been entirely scrubbed from the internet.
And I feel that if the blaze stood by its reporting, they wouldn't take it off or delete it.
But anyway, we did manage to find a New York Times piece that summarized or explained the reporting that's now scrubbed from the internet.
You have to keep in mind, this is the New York Times interpretation of the reporting.
So make of that what you will.
But they say that the authors wrote that they had arranged a forensic study of Kirkopp's gate.
by an unnamed analyst, a software algorithm, the story said,
showed that she was a 94% match to the pipe bomber.
The analyst determined that the match was closer to 98% based on visual observations.
In the story, they also claim that several anonymous members of the intelligence
community had confirmed these findings.
And the writer said that this gate analysis had been done by using security video
of Kirkoff, as well as footage of her playing soccer eight years earlier,
and then comparing them with the January 5th video of the pipe bomb suspect.
They concluded that Kirkoff's height, five feet seven inches, a figure written on her online
athlete bio, and the fact that she had a broken leg in a college soccer game or she broke
her leg in a college soccer game were more proof. So what does that mean?
Apparently, the broken leg they surmised had given Kirkoff a distinct limp, which they said
matched that of the pipe bomber, Kerkoff, in fact, made a full recovery and does not present
a limp. Now, Steve Baker is one of the original authors of that Blaze investigation regarding
Kirkoff. And he has continued to follow the story. But an important element that you need to
know about, Kirkoff sued him for defamation and she won, but she won by default. Because for
whatever reason, Steve Baker was uncooperative and missed important deadlines for the suit,
kind of like what happened with Alex Jones in the Sandy Hook parent lawsuit that was filed against him.
He won a default judgment, and that's what happened here with Kirkoff.
But, you know, there are some on the right who believe that this was an inside job by the feds,
that they, you know, planted these bombs. And part of the reason why they did it was to attract the attention
of the limited law enforcement that was on the scene at the time right before the riots started.
So things would, you know, be a lot more chaotic and dangerous with less law enforcement
focused on the, you know, capital building.
Curious what you think about this theory.
Yeah, I mean, without in any way discounting what Dan Bongino said was 100% certainty
before you got to be the FBI assistant director, which is that this was an inside job.
I don't discount that in any way.
And I'm not intending to by casting serious data on that story.
I always found that story very dubious from the start.
Because for one thing, gait analysis is not a serious science.
Like almost nobody takes it seriously.
It's not even admissible in a lot of criminal cases.
They presented it as this thing that can like almost like DNA evidence that can achieve up to 98 or 99% certainty.
It's not even close to that.
It's barely like a science that's taken seriously.
Beyond that, like she clearly did have, at least from what was presented, a very crystal clear alibi,
which was that she was at home with her dogs, walking her dogs at exactly the time that the pipe bomb was planted.
There's video of it that was time stamped.
And on top of that, the blaze did end up not just scrubbing it from the internet, but actually retracting the story.
That's why it's gone from the internet.
And you know, this is a like financially well off like conservative backed news outlet that
if they they really didn't believe that the story should be retracted, I doubt they would
have retracted it. They would have found a way to fight this this lawsuit. So when you already
have serious doubts about a story and then the news outlet that's very ideologically inclined,
serves a right wing audience, has an interest in front of the story, actually retracts it
and kind of just takes it off the internet. I don't at that point put.
not stock in it. But that's just all that means is that this one, you know, woman who used to work
at the Capitol Police and I was at the CIA probably didn't do it. But that doesn't mean that nobody
else in the government did. I just want to say on it too, like, what struck me so much about the
parents' interview with Tucker is that it became like so much more convincing to me that their son
was apolitical and certainly not anywhere near politically passionate enough to plant bombs.
because they weren't really particularly political or like certainly not strident in their tongue.
Like you said, you know, a lot of parents in that case, especially if you're political,
would be like ranting and raving against the racist FBI or the evils of these investigators or the like.
As you said, they were very like, they didn't want to attack anybody.
And this is like the mentality of people who, it's not a very political mentality.
And so obviously you can have a political parents and the son for whatever reason gets politicized.
or radicalized, but it just to me kind of fortifies my impression that this guy was nowhere.
Do you know like what it would take to just out of nowhere at the age of 30 when you're living
life as a recluse? Like just suddenly go and create two bombs. And as you said, the fact that
two, they like claim that the bomb material was bought between 2018 and 2020 really makes me doubt
that claim because you would think it would be like a sudden thing. Like he would be, wow,
I have to go act. I'm going to go build bombs. And no, they probably have like,
receipts that supposedly support this theory that are from like 2018 and 2019.
Why would why would he be buying as you said earlier material for a bomb three years,
two years before?
Right.
As though he were going to anticipate that he were going to do something like this when
nothing in his behavior or character suggested that he would ever even consider that,
let alone do it.
Yeah.
I mean, look, you're making devastating points here.
And I think you're right about the Blaze story that was scrubbed from from the internet.
And look, I'm glad that they're doing their due diligence and have retracted it.
But I think you're also correct in noting just because they retracted that one theory or that one claim about one woman.
About one woman doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't some funny business going on with this allegation against Cole Jr.
So as this story develops, I want to stay on it and give you guys updates.
But it's not the first time authorities have framed someone or forced to confess.
from an innocent person or convicted someone who actually didn't commit the crime.
And I do find this whole case incredibly suspicious.
Anyway, we got to take a break.
Let's do that.
When we come back, we'll move on to some other news, including, well, how the Trump administration has exploited the assassination of Charlie Kirk for their own political purposes.
We'll be right back.
All right.
Let's go to YTP Renewd, who says, Kami Mamdani, Marx compared religion to O.
Opium. Actually, that's a really good point. I think in terms of economic policy, that's what, you know, people typically think of. But point taken. Anthony is obviously a Trump supporter. Anna, you and Jake sit on camera and insult Trump every day. Do you think you would be allowed to do that if he was the anti-speech authoritarian you say he is? Well, look, he hasn't gotten to me yet, but let's not forget that he banned three major news organizations from the
White House press pool. That is what authoritarian, and specifically said that he wants positive
coverage of his administration. So that's what authoritarian do. I don't think I'm even on Trump's
radar. Can I add one point to this? Because I just hear this all the time. It drives me crazy.
Yeah. Conservatives were basically unanimous in arguing, and I agreed with them, that there was a lot
of censorship against conservatives and right-wing viewpoints in the Biden years. That didn't mean
that every conservative online or in the newspaper was hauled off to prison. You can't just say,
like, hey, there's a couple of people still able to criticize Joe Biden or question Fauci, and they're
not being hauled off. Therefore, there's no censorship. It's not an absolute either or thing.
It's a trend that's designed to create a climate of self-centeredship, where as long as you do
it to some people, other people will notice and the idea is you create a climate of fear. That's how
censorship works. Right, the chilling effect. But yeah, it's wrong when a Democratic president does it,
although a Democratic president hasn't gone this far.
And it's wrong when a Republican does it.
We need to be fair.
Let's get back to the show.
Welcome back to the show, everyone.
Anna Casparian and Glenn Greenwald with you.
Glenn, we just had an epic segment about the DC pipe bomber
and some of the concerns about how the feds are using certain things to their own advantage.
Now, what's really interesting is after Charlie Kirk was assassinated,
I think it's pretty clear the Trump administration has used.
that tragic assassination for their own purposes.
Let's get into the details of what the New York Times reported today.
Watch.
The last message that Charlie Kirk gave to me before he joined his creator in heaven
was he said that we have to dismantle and take on the radical left organizations in this country
that are fomenting violence.
That was the last message that he sent me before that assassin stole.
him from all of us. And we are going to do that under President Trump's leadership. I don't
care how it could be a RICO charge, a conspiracy charge. So that was Stephen Miller just days
after Charlie Kirk was assassinated. And I don't know, Glenn, I don't believe that Charlie
Kirk sent him that text message. Obviously, I'm speculating. Curious if you think Charlie Kirk
sent him that text message. You know, it's so interesting because I have been somebody who has devoted
like a large part of my adult life to the cause of free speech, both as a lawyer and then as
journalists. And I don't say this about many people because all of us are tempted to kind of
be okay with censorship when it's directed at the ideas we really hate most. Like you have to
fight against that. You have to fight against that temptation like purposely defend free speech
when it's directed at the people that you most hate. And Charlie Kirk is one of the very few
people despite a lot of differences I have with him who almost qualifies as an absolutist when it
for free speech and went out of his way not to make exceptions for people he didn't like.
To the point that when President Trump started prioritizing censorship on in order to protect
Israel, you know, classifying Palestinian activists as terrorists and posing hate speech codes
on colleges to punish Palestinian pro-Palestinian adopting the IHRA, expanded definition
of anti-Semitism, Charlie Kirk was constantly objecting.
And he would say things like there's no hate speech exception to the first member.
All speeches is free speech.
There's no thing as hate speech.
And he was talking specifically about protecting people who have ideas that are the exact opposite of his.
Left wing ideas.
Israel ideas.
He actually had me on his show to talk about this.
You know, like when the House had passed the anti-Semitism act, he just wanted me to come on and just
denounce it, explained to his audience like what the Trump administration was doing and why it was such a threat to free speak.
Maybe he said to to Stephen Miller at one point, hey, we need to do something about Antifa,
or like the violent left wing activist or whatever.
But I am quite certain, 100% certain because I knew Charlie pretty well,
that he would never tell the U.S. government publicly or privately that they need to start
criminalizing political activists devoted to an ideology or cause that they oppose.
It just is the exact antithesis of everything he always did he believed.
Everything you're saying is true.
And it was hard for some people on the left to understand, like why.
I thought Charlie Kirk actually provided a lot of value to the political discussion,
even though I myself vehemently was against a lot of what he had to say.
I found some of his commentary about Gaza in the beginning of the genocide, particularly gross and
disgusting. But he did defend free speech for everyone, including his political opponents,
which is why it is honestly pretty shameful that so far the Trump administration has basically
exploited that tragedy in order to push for more censorious treatment and even the criminalization
of their political opponents. And so the New York Times reports that since then, there's been a
crackdown on exclusively left-leaning groups who are smeared by the administration as terrorists,
the enemy within, and also anti-American. By the way, mind you, the Tyler Robinson case is like
still underway and we still don't know the truth behind the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Right now the assumption is that Tyler Robinson did it and that he was motivated by his left
wing ideology on the transgender community. But that needs to be proven in court. We still live
in a system where people are innocent until proven guilty. Nonetheless, TPSA spokesperson Andrew Colvette
made sure to add fuel to the fire if you ask me. He comments
for the New York Times and the story and said, quote,
what we are finally coming to grips with on the right is that our opponents on the left,
some of them, enough of them, want us dead.
You have to deal with this or you are a sitting duck.
Well, what does that mean?
How do you deal with this, Andrew?
Like your vague comment, first of all, just dripping with paranoia that actually fuels
more political violence is really not helpful.
And anyone who disagrees with the Trump administration,
clearly is considered a threat. So tax agents have examined nonprofit groups.
By the way, can we have some tax agents like investigate nonprofit groups in California
who are allegedly helping the homeless, but they're actually pocketing the money?
Can we do that? But no, we can't actually do that. We're going to focus on this.
Investigators have looked into the books of labor unions. Prosecutors have brought charges
against anti-ice protesters, asserting that a leftist conspiracy,
theory is provoking political violence on the streets, which is interesting because Andrew Colvett,
you know, has a lot to say about conspiracy theories surrounding who actually assassinated Charlie
Kirk. He's perfectly happy to engage in this conspiracy theory. Now, Trump issued two directives
soon after Charlie Kirk was killed. He designated Antifa as a terrorist organization last year on
September 22nd. And then a few days after that, he signed a national security document directing an
attack on what he described as networks that fomented political violence. And so these networks are
described by the administration as anti-American, anti-capitalism. So you're considered a terrorist if you
think that capitalism is not a great economic system, I guess. Anti-Christianity support
the overthrow of the government, extremists on immigration, race, and gender, and those who are
hostile toward traditional Americans. I don't know what a traditional American is.
Important to note that domestic terrorism, by the way, isn't even defined in American law.
And shout out to libertarians, okay? And I mean it because they are kind of on the front
lines fighting against this. According to an amicus brief filed last month in the Minnesota
case, in a Minnesota case, by legal groups that included the libertarian Cato Institute and the
right leading society for the rule of law. Trump's political vice.
violence directive known as National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 effectively uses the domestic
terrorism label to justify criminal investigations into disfavored groups that would not otherwise be
targeted. So there are definitely some areas in which I find myself agreeing with libertarians.
This would be one of them. But it is really sick to exploit a tragic event like Charlie Kirk's
assassination in order to push through, you know, this.
the political persecution of Trump's political opponents.
Glenn, you-
Yeah, especially since Charlie Kirk stood for exactly the opposite and has denounced these
kind of attempts to criminalize ideology and free speech in the past.
You know, I have to say like, there's so many things that anger me about conservatives and
how they're behaving under Trump and the things are justifying when they had pretended for
so long to be opposed to it.
So let me just remind people too, that one of the biggest conservative grievances about
about the Obama administration was that he had unleashed the IRS to investigate conservative
activist groups and nonprofit groups to see if they really were just partisan activist and
should lose their nonprofit status. And they claimed it was almost entirely directed against
right wing conservative nonprofits. And therefore it was an attempt to weaponize the IRS on the federal
government to persecute Obama's political opponents. And on top of that, you know, one of the things
that happened in the wake of January 6th that I spent,
spent months denouncing when I was on substack the first time was that immediately the Biden
administration seized on this, Adam Schiff and Benny Johnson, who ended up being the chair of the
9-11 committee, started saying we need to change the international terrorism laws that were enacted
after 9-11 because of that fear and that crisis in order to just amend it to say international
and domestic terrorism. So they wanted to take all the 9-11 powers that they gave themselves
to spy on, to detain without due process, to do everything.
against for international terrorist groups and start to classify right wing and conservative
groups as terrorist organizations by claiming that they were an insurrectionary movement as
proven by January 6th. They started saying things like right wing people who were at the capital,
just being at the capital means you should be put on the no fly list, one of the worst
abuses of the post 9-11 Bush Cheney assault on civil liberties. And I even would write
writing articles on the dangers of calling people domestic terrorists. It really, unless they,
you know, are planting bombs.
And even then we should be very careful. And every conservative I know clap for by denunciations.
Other people are denouncing this as well. Always saying, yeah, we can't have the federal
government importing the war on terror onto domestic soil because we use it to persecute their political
antibodies. Everything the Trump administration is now doing in conservatives pretty much unanimously.
Very few are objecting are cheering for. And the last thing I want to point out, you know,
like if I could just wave a magic wand and make everybody in the country have like a recognition
of just like a basic fact, I might choose the recognition that when the United States starts
wars and starts like campaigning to start a war, and they tell you that their goal is to
liberate the oppressed peoples and bring them freedom and democracy, that's never actually
the goal. The United States doesn't fight wars to liberate the oppressed. You know, we heard
that we're going to bring freedom and democracy to Venezuela to Iran. Obviously, that's not Trump's
goal and never was. It's never the United States goal. And I wish people would just every time the
government unveils a new war by selling it that way would laugh in their face.
and be like, okay, what's the real motive? But I think the thing that I would actually pick
is that when you capitulate to government demands for power, justified by some very emotionally
laden crisis or crime or attack, you should immediately get a hold of yourself and realize that
your emotions are being manipulated. That's how we got the Patriot Act and warrantless eavesdropping
and all these other once unthinkable abuses because it was justified by 9-11. The Cold War brought
in all kinds of abuses.
domestically. And now here's Trump doing the same thing with Charlie Kirk's death and Stephen
Miller going right on TV and say, okay, I know you're angry. I'm angry too about what was done to Charlie.
We're going to dismantle these left-ling groups. People are like, yeah, dismantle that and not thinking
through the consequences of how long this will endure, what the authoritarian impact will be,
how it might be used against them. The next time there's a Democratic president. And it's just one of
the big plagues of life that we need fear in order to survive. It's an important instinct.
But that also means people in power can manipulate our fears to get us to give them powers
because they're promising to use it to protect us and saying we'll die unless we agree to it,
when in reality, they just want that power and are manipulating your emotions to get it.
I mean, it's very Orwellian, like the whole war is peace type thing, right?
And for me, the red flag is always when the government tells you you are unsafe and they want to protect your safety.
I became politicized during, you know, the aftermath of 9-11.
And even as, yeah, even as a teenager, I was like, why are we going to go to war against Iran?
This makes no sense.
And we did it anyway.
And so many Americans thought that, I'm sorry, Iraq.
Iraq was a huge threat to the U.S.
And it just, it just wasn't.
Okay.
So final thing I want to bring.
Like Iran now.
Like Iran now.
Same exact playbook.
Same thing.
Same thing.
That's why as things were ramping up prior to us,
going to war with Iran. One of the conversations or debates that's like seared in my mind, I think about
it often, was one that I had with Jillian Michaels on a show I used to host on a different. Her take,
exactly. I'm sorry. I could have, anyway, that's over luckily. But I loved it, but go ahead.
She's, you know, she's older than me. No shade about that. But like she went through the whole
aftermath of 9-11, how the American people were lied to about Iraq.
And I was just, I was trying to get her to understand like this is literally the same playbook, the same playbook. And she's like, yeah, but what if this time it's different? And I'm like, oh my God, there's no hope. There's no hope. Anyway, but final thing I want to bring up about the Charlie Kirk case. So I had Candace Owens on for like a full hour. And I was less interested in going through what the possible theories are about who killed Charlie Kirk because there's actual.
evidence that counters the federal government's narrative in this case. Of course, they're saying it was
Tyler Robinson. He's the one who definitely shot and killed Charlie Kirk. But again, on her show,
I noticed she was bringing up some counter evidence that people were dismissing because they want to
make her out to be crazy or they were focusing on her theories that had been disproven and she'd moved on
from that. So we go through methodically, not even all of
it, but like some of the more important things she's brought up on her show. And a lot of people
on the left were angry at me, including Emma Viglin, because you should not at all associate
yourself or have a conversation with someone like Candace Owens. I disagree. I don't think that people
are irredeemable. I think sometimes, you know, people you disagree with politically might have
some valuable information or perspectives to share. But guys, like for those who might land
on the side of Emma Viglin on this or other people on the left on this,
You got to keep in mind, like the federal government is working really hard to use this case to take your rights away.
So we have to get to the bottom of the truth.
It might be true that Tyler Robinson is guilty of carrying out this crime.
It might be true that he was motivated by a left-wing political ideology.
That hasn't been proven in court.
And in fact, there's a lot that makes me think that this case against Tyler Robinson is sketchy to say the least.
I just think that we have to be open to the possibility that, I don't know, our government hates us, and they sometimes lie to us on very big issues, including possibly the suspect who killed Charlie Kirk.
And I don't know. I just, I feel like I've matured a little more than just seeing everything through the lens of us versus them. I want to know what the truth is. And I'm sorry to say it, but the truth isn't always on your political side. Final thoughts on this.
Yeah, I really resent this idea that you're not allowed to talk to people or go on people's programs or have them on yours unless like they already agree with you on pretty much everything or pretty much whatever like people think is important.
I mean, it's so I think above all, it just demonstrates like a lack of authentic concern with the causes you supposedly believe in.
Because if you actually believe in a cause, why would you purposely avoid getting to talk to huge audiences that may never have heard your perspective before or perhaps convincing the person who hosts that person.
program that you're right and gradually bring them to your side or be open to the fact that
maybe you would like who would ever say no, you should avoid talking to millions of people
about your beliefs because they're sullied and they're dirty and you.
I mean, it's like the mindset of a very petty, vindictive partisan that the only conversations
worth having are with the Democratic Party and with liberals and people who are on our side.
Beyond that, you know, I also really resent this bullying that like people just demand that
you accept the government's version of events right from the beginning. If we had like a government
that has proven very trustworthy and very reliable and deserves that kind of faith and trust
over decades, I would say, okay, that seems reasonable. They've proven themselves a reliable
institution. But we know the exact opposite is true. They lied about every major event. They lied the
country into the Vietnam more by lying about the Gulf of Tonkin. They lied about the Vietnam
more for years. As Daniel Ellsberg in the Pentagon paper show, they lied about Iraq and the reasons
we had to go there. So do they lied about COVID? They lied about so many things, like big, huge
things that they all in concert with the media told you was true and it turned out it wasn't.
So if there's a major event where there's huge political stakes at play, like the assassination
of JFK or the 9-11 attacks or the assassination of Charlie Kirk, all of which have been exploited
for all sorts of very polarizing political lens, why would you not be skeptical? Why would you
want to suppress anybody from doubting it or expressing cynicism about it or even,
in skepticism and telling them that they're crazy and insane because it's so obvious the government
is telling the truth. That is actually like sinister to try and prevent people or stigmatize
people who don't instantly swallow the government media line about every major complex event.
When we know for certain they lied to us repeatedly over many decades, it's so irrational as
well.
Well said. Unfortunately, we're out of time, Glenn.
And I want to give you an opportunity to plug your work, let our audience know where to
