What's up? It's the girl Letty from the Challenge 42.
I'm out here on the Zach Nichols pod of the cast talking shit.
Yeah, boy.
Welcome back to Zach Nichols podcast.
We are back in the Midwest in Detroit.
Great trip to San Diego.
However, we got bigger things happening today.
We have the one, the only letty.
Oh, yeah, that's me.
I'm the couch for the first time.
Very few people can do one name.
Madonna, Pele, Prince.
And letty.
Meta World Peace.
Look where you're at that.
Period.
Another round of applause for the one name
Vixen in the house.
No elimination rounds yet on her rookie season.
That's impressive.
I don't know if that's ever been.
Oh, it's been done.
Undefeated and winless at the same time.
No eliminations.
How does it feel to be clean?
Not sandy.
So I honestly thought I was going to go in like every time.
When I've, you know, because when you watch a show,
you're like, oh, this is like the, the,
The wookie wow.
The wookie wow.
The wookie wow.
So I was like, I'm just going to prepare myself.
And then the format of the show doesn't really call for that, especially since I was on a team with majority of rookies.
I was like, oh, I think I'm actually going to scave by somehow.
Because also people are like, well, we do low-key want you for the final.
So we don't necessarily want you in the sand.
Knowing anything about your endurance, too.
Right.
That is a huge nod.
I've ran two marathons.
So they know a little something about her.
Oh yeah, I guess you say that.
Marathon runner?
I wouldn't say I'm a marathon runner.
I just did it.
I have completed two men.
No, no, no, no.
If you've done two, that's multiple marathons run.
You're a marathon runner.
Not marathon ran once.
Marathon ran twice.
What?
Which marathons?
The first one, I actually did with one of the people on the first show I did.
It was in not Nashville.
Oh, my gosh.
Austin, Texas.
There we go.
Austin, Texas.
And then the next one was in Knoxville, Tennessee.
And the second one was, honestly, a brand deal.
And it was, like, a month later.
And I had not trained for it at all.
Just raw-dogged it.
Terrible.
Don't recommend.
What was your time on the second one?
Oh, my God.
Over five hours.
Under six?
Yeah.
Still really good.
I don't mean, what is...
And that's really good, Michael?
Yeah, it's still really good.
What's like a...
What's like the world?
It's like, you would have faith if I could run a final.
You'd be like, okay.
You could go to this day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, you got a lot of accolades.
And we're just going to name just a few of the very, very many.
Not only are you a challenger.
You are also a WWE superstar.
You're also a pageant, queen.
You are also a loving daughter.
Give a round of applause for Alexis letting.
All the important stuff.
Follower of Jesus Christ, Christ, well, God.
Amen.
That's right.
Yeah, that's true.
So these are all great denominations.
I'm Christian, but I would say non-denominational Christian.
Me too.
I don't fuck with the Catholics.
Bro, come on.
He doesn't mean that, guys.
I'm Vincent's Godfather.
No shade, but like,
you're all services are kind of boring for me.
Yo, you're tripping,
but we have the best music.
I don't know if you've been to my church.
Bro, my church is like a rock concert.
Okay.
Yo, all my Catholics,
we know what it is, all right?
The Lamb of God,
if you know, you know.
I still don't know.
Whenever we take the priest of there,
I'm like, peace.
Yeah, that is roll.
You're missing out, bro.
That bread is tasty.
Not in real life.
Yeah, but an eternal life.
But I didn't do, if you don't do confession, you can't take Eucharist, and I never do confession, so I follow the rules.
Most Catholics don't.
I appreciate that.
I actually got baptized in the Catholic Church because the church, the church, we, my, what married my wife at is Catholic.
She's Catholic.
So I went through, I went through all of the things for it, whatever.
And so I was baptized in the Catholic Church, but I don't like necessarily agree with.
All right.
But I do follow the rules.
Okay.
So they're like, hey, are you going to take, are you going to take you, Chris?
I'm like, no, I haven't been to confessional.
Yeah.
He doesn't want to hear what I've been thinking of.
No, he doesn't want to know it all.
He wants to, you'll get there.
But we appreciate, we appreciate you making the trip.
You got a lot of things going on in your life.
Kentucky, New York, a lot of things, and you made time for us.
Thank you so much for being here.
Thanks for having me.
And it means a world.
And it's pretty important for you to be here.
You're one of the biggest stars of season 42 on the challenge.
Am I?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, period.
Yeah.
No, literally period.
We're going to talk about all that, including your casting story, but we're going to start
with this episode and then we'll circle back to you.
Before, let me ask, what events do you do in track?
And track?
Yeah, you ran track, right?
Yeah, I did relays.
So you were a sprinter?
Yeah.
Yes.
Like 200, 400?
Yep.
200, 400.
I hated those, though.
I liked the really sprint, like the 100.
So, like, 4 by 100 would be my favorite.
That was your favorite.
But I did do the medley one.
and I was the 200 leg of that as well.
And then I did high jump.
Would you high jump?
Not good.
I just have a really bendy back.
So I was just like,
I high jumps as well.
I've six.
That's good.
Is that good?
It's not great.
I don't think it's great.
It's good, but it's not great.
I don't think it's great.
Okay.
No, she's not in my league in high jump.
Yeah, no.
You had a state record for high jump?
I had a school record.
A school record.
Okay, yeah, I was not ball.
In high school.
I'm a legend at high school.
Well, Josh was captain of some high school.
school team or something. And that made him
worthy to be captain. I should have
fought harder for the captain position, but I think
everybody was scared of me. So I kind of just was like, you know
what? We'll take the L. Weren't you
the deciding vote in that whole thing?
So actually Nelson was. Let's talk about this.
That's T. No, so Nelson is actually the one who
ultimately voted for Josh to be captain.
Whoa. Give us the Lattee. This is
hysterical.
So, I know. This is the Thirsty Nichols podcast,
by the way. Nelson, just when you can't
get any dumber.
You go and totally
redeem yourself. Well, okay, so we're deciding. And when we all sat down, you kind of see them show
like Josh pitch himself and Nelson pitch himself. And when I say like, I don't know, it wasn't,
I didn't know who to vote for. It was like, I don't know. I also might want to be captain. And
people are like, oh, okay, well, let's sleep on us think about it. And Carr's like, listen, I'll
vote for you, Lett. And we're in the Orange Boys room and I'm like, hey, what do you guys think?
I'm talking to CT and Johnny. And C.T. is like, you don't know what the captain holds. So
maybe it's better if somebody else is a guinea pig. And I was like, okay. And so I was like,
you know, maybe it is okay if Josh is the captain for this one.
So I'm going to up to Nelson and I'm like, hey, like, you know, you know, I'm deciding to be
captain or not.
I think, and he's like, before you say anything, I think I've made my decision.
You know, I am going to give it to Josh.
And I was like, okay.
I don't even need to make a decision.
So it's Annalie, Josh and Nelson voted for Josh.
And then he was so mad.
He was begging for that.
Oh, that makes it so much better.
Yeah, so you twisted.
I actually didn't put that in there.
Oh, that makes it so much richer.
Because I'm like, you guys are missing a lot of lore here.
Like that is the Lord.
Because everyone's like,
Letty, why are you not sticking up for Nelson?
I'm like, listen, Nelson put himself in this position.
Oh my gosh.
And then had the audacity to say that he wanted to be the captain now.
Oh, man.
How was it being on a team with Nelson?
What was your first experience with Nelson?
Because I, you know.
So I didn't know Nelson at all.
I hadn't gotten through rider dives very much.
I think I only had a few episodes before I had to go to the challenge.
So I didn't know him very much.
But I didn't realize that he recently,
got his leg removed.
Like I didn't know that that was a recent thing.
And people were talking about how he had this really big comeback
and how he's overcome so much.
And I'm like, wait, what happened?
And I actually never knew what happened until he left.
Then that's when I found out that he was in a car accident.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
So leading into the show, I like had no clue.
I thought maybe it always been there.
I had no clue.
Yeah.
So dealing essentially, essentially politicking with him objectively without knowledge of anything.
Yeah.
This is just how you felt in that situation.
What do you mean how I felt?
Just in terms of that he signed his own
commercial slip for Josh to be the...
Yeah, I mean, yeah.
Essentially, he was just like, you know what?
I think he had the same mindset as me, though.
I think he was like, listen, let's have somebody else be the guinea pig.
And as soon as he found out what it was, he was like,
okay, I made the wrong decision.
So...
He was so mad.
Yeah, I think he was honestly kicking himself about it.
And by being so upset, he's like,
I got to do something to save this.
I do think he should have waited to ask to be captain,
because he hadn't even gone to an elimination yet,
and he was asking me captain already.
And we're like, well, technically neither of y'all
have gone into elimination.
So let's like slow it down.
I guess, you know, build some repertoire,
but also it's really hard to mutinize in these situations.
It's impossible.
Because, I mean, Josh came to me and he's like,
Letty, you're going to be to end the end with me.
Like, I have you for then.
So then why would I mutinize?
You wouldn't.
And I wouldn't.
I wouldn't.
Because if you were his number one person,
number one girl, you would never go in.
So essentially, you would have been in cat.
You're in a captain role.
was a captain without right yes yeah yeah that's why i wish like we said multiple times if he wanted i wish
they made the rule instead of having everyone agree it should have been like i want to be captain i'm
challenging you and then the captain got to pick from three different games so that as a viewer i could
have seen more one-on-one competition and like high-stakes drama because like nelson would have jumped
on that in a second oh yeah and that would have been incredible like they had so much beef like even
watching that i mean i would have been on the edge of my seat yeah yeah they had they didn't even show
all the battles they went through.
I mean, even after the...
Every day.
After the perfect match one,
oh, man, there was like an explosion.
And the thing is, I could see both sides.
I will say Josh could have done a better job
of, like, just being up front.
He kind of, for some reason,
tried to beat her on the bush of like,
oh, no, you guys aren't going in every time.
And we're just like, Josh,
literally Nelson is going in every time.
Just be like, Josh, you're going in every time.
You're probably going to go in every time.
Instead, he's like, I'm just going to make the best decision
for my team.
And I was like, okay,
some of these people get a lot of egos.
when they're like put in a captain position.
And true captains, there has to be actually no ego.
You actually have to be the most vulnerable person.
You have to be the most communicative.
And if you have issues with people,
you actually are not supposed to bring them up in front of other people.
You're supposed to bring them up behind the scenes.
So the stuff that Josh was doing and the way he was going about it,
he could have been more honest and let everybody understand their role on the team
with him as captain.
And that my problem is though as a captain,
you have a normal team.
Like real sports team.
Like we're not, like if we lose,
we lose as a team.
Yeah.
That's like a real captain.
In a game like this, a cutthroat savage competition for this much money where the captain
eventually can steal it, like I would have been like, hey, you're good, you're never going
in and we're not splitting anything with anyone else.
No one would have mutinized against me because I would have that one person.
So this isn't like what Tori's doing is such a disservice for people who think playing a fair
and honest game is good because while she's doing that, she didn't do that for Izzy.
She didn't do that for Deb, but she did it for Michelle.
She had reasons.
But my issue with it all is, is by doing that, it's almost like, people are taking this captain.
We're like, Adrian thinks like, no, I'm like, you're not a leader.
I know.
I think people are misunderstanding what it means to be captain.
And then also putting themselves in a position of you have to listen to me.
I'm the boss.
And it's, you know, we're not in a position where we're little kids anymore.
And we need an adult supervision and agreeance to do something.
Especially with this episode.
I mean, we're going to get into it.
But essentially, I was told what was going to happen.
And I decided that's not what's going to happen.
Mm-hmm.
That's a little tease for those of you in the business.
No, for sure.
And I had another point.
I had another, I had another.
Did you lose it?
Did I make you lose it?
Yeah, you did because I was like, well, I actually can't get the panda roll you did on last night's episode.
Yo, shout out to everybody who watched 99 to beat.
I appreciate the love.
It's not about me.
It's about Letty.
So this episode.
Can I get an autograph after?
Babe.
There you go.
You were talking about captainships, blah, blah, blah.
I really fucked you up, didn't I?
Sorry, Charlie.
Let's get into this episode.
Keep it holstered next time, all right?
Don't pull it out until you're ready to shoot.
I just need a good night's sleep.
Okay.
This episode starts off right at the daily, which is cool.
But they give Adrian and Tori a little bit of props for winning their tickets to the final through this UFC sponsored extremely physical elimination.
Two of them, balls in and Paul Russell.
That would have been awesome.
You've been compared.
to one of the most physically imposing and intimidating women of all time in this show,
and that's Laurel.
I don't know if you've ever met her.
Let's start with that.
I've never heard someone compare me to her.
Oh, really?
No, all the time.
Okay.
I was to say, right.
For those you're wondering, Lettie is every bit of 6-1 or 2.
60, for sure.
100%.
If you say I'm 6-2, that means you're a short king.
I'm 5.11 and 3 quarters, but okay.
Who's counting?
Who's counting?
I am counting.
I am.
And I'm taking all 3 quarters of that.
With my shoes on, I am 6-4.
Okay.
And yeah, I'm just one.
So you, she definitely passes the intimidation test.
Yeah, Laurel's shorter than you for sure.
Um, my question is, uh, this last week, there was a lot of physical contact.
So we always like to ask our competitors, like, how do they feel about physical contact when it comes to a competition?
Do you love it? Don't mind it or do you avoid it and not really like it.
I love it.
I mean, I was, I was in the W.E. And I do, I did jujitsu.
Like, he also roundhouse kicked Leo to the temples.
Okay, he said I kicked him.
I did not kick him.
I didn't take down.
And when I was taking him down, I flipped him over.
He's like, you kicked me.
And I'm like, nah.
You threw him into the side of the mud pit.
And you're asking her if she likes kind of.
She beat the shit out of Leo.
So I think she.
I mean he's a piece of shit afterwards.
Because, and the rules, the men were not allowed to tackle the women.
And he tackled me.
Well, no, he stiff-armed you.
He stiff-armed you down.
Well, something I've heard from multiple,
like a tackle to me.
Multiple dudes was that, like, you guys were not to play in easy.
with them either.
You know, not that it's...
Okay.
And they said that man cannot talk of the woman.
They didn't say the women can't talk a woman.
Equal rights.
All right.
My question is, all right, I ask that.
Having competed, you know, up to this point, with the likes of Tori, with the likes of
Adrian, how do you think you do if it's you instead of the mercenaries?
How do you think you do against Tori and that balls in?
How do you think you do against Adrian with the Paul Russell?
I think it'd be interesting.
Yeah?
I don't think it'd be an interesting journey, to say the least.
Because I'm not going to lie.
