What's up everybody?
It's Kyland Young from Era 4, the Best Era in the Challenge, Season 40 Battle of the Eras.
Make sure you tune in and check out what we got to talk about.
What's going on, guys?
What's up, bro?
We're here.
We are.
Happy holidays.
Happy holidays.
Christmas.
Kyland, welcome back.
Thank you.
Oh, shit.
A finalist on our couch.
So what?
Are you just going to win every challenge all season?
Oh my gosh.
Just gonna beat Jordan in mini-finals.
That was the plan.
You laughed them.
That felt good.
I'll bet it to.
Until the end, yes.
Isn't it crazy how like you do good on like a puzzle one time and everyone thinks you're a puzzle genius?
And so then like you're expected to to roll up to every puzzle and be like, done.
That's not how it works.
I expected that too.
And that was my fault.
I mean, what is it hubris?
Like truly.
I, once I had that lap, I was like, this is a puzzle.
I'm going to throw this together.
It'll be easy.
And I was like, okay, cool.
We've done, I don't know, seven, eight puzzles.
All of them, we just make the number 40.
So I'm up there.
And I'm like, all right, let me just make this 40 real quick and be done.
Another W.
And I start making a 40 because I had just enough lines to like almost make one.
And then I was like, wait, this isn't turning into 40.
All right, maybe I have it upside down.
So I take it out.
I'm trying again.
And then, yeah, I mean,
literally just was in autopilot mode.
And then I was like, why isn't this working?
And then Jordan finishes.
And I'm like annoyed.
And I can't see anybody's too because I'm the second to the first one.
And then finally I'm like, wait, what if it's not 40?
And then I was like, what if I just take this approach like a toddler and line up the lines properly?
Yeah.
They lined up pretty well.
And then I was like, oh my gosh.
So it just was literally oversight.
And I was just glad it happened in that challenge, though, because I was like,
all right, if I'm going to the final, I'd much rather.
make this mistake here and then remember like hey just don't make that mistake there by me it's
my you assumed yeah but i think i was right when i said basically essentially that puzzle was was
way too ghetto for you i stole that from cam because i liked how it sounded oh cams hilarious guys
yeah but no for real like i said that i was like kylans used to like the cbs
challenge you brand new piece brand new pieces like stay-to-the-art shit and then he got some
throwing some hoopty-ass location change challenge shit we're like someone was there a week ago like
spray painting four by fours.
Yeah.
That was way to,
welcome,
welcome to the challenge.
Yeah,
that's why Jordan
and Johnny threw
together so fast.
Class, class,
class.
Class.
No, experience and people,
and I feel like,
I don't know,
that's the one they annoys me
about people on the challenge
sometimes is they'll just like,
yeah, like,
if I had only done this,
you know,
if I learned this,
I'm like, no,
like, I messed up,
my bad,
but like,
because whenever somebody's like,
yeah,
if only this,
I'm like,
well, yeah,
if only this team scored more points
than that team
in the last NFL game,
they would have won.
Like, that's, you lost.
What do you mean?
What are you talking about?
Who's someone that does that a lot?
Ooh.
I feel like everyone does it.
I'm like trying to think of who doesn't a lot.
I'm trying to rack my brain if I ever did it.
I'm like,
who does a lot?
Well,
there's a difference between explaining what happened versus this is why I didn't know.
Making excuses.
Yes.
It was interesting that we're bringing this up because we personally haven't had a chance
to comment on the controversy that's happening on X with the women's side of this
daily.
What is your opinion?
You know what I'm talking about, of course.
And what is your opinion on it?
The Jenny versus Cara versus who won versus the three minute versus Rachel.
Everything was correct except for the bread.
The top was on the bottom.
Bottom was on the top.
And they didn't actually line up.
And I'm wondering if that was just someone because T.J.
doesn't care.
TJ probably doesn't know how to solve them himself.
So he's probably just like he has someone in his ear and there's also producers around that are actually checking it.
Yeah.
And they're just not in the shot, right?
And I'm wondering was it just human error or were they?
like, yeah, no, we want Jenny to win this.
It's, I want your opinion.
Well, okay, so when I watched the,
because I didn't notice it until people were talking about,
and I like went back and I looked.
Because I'm not a weirdo that sits there and freezes the screen
to make sure the puzzle solved correctly.
Like I'm going to, even me, like, as a viewer,
I'm not thinking like, let me pause it and make sure that this puzzle solves.
I'm just like, whatever.
But then there's people, I guess they are weirdos that do that do that to like basically,
and I'm glad they do.
Don't get me on.
Yeah, the accountability people.
I'm glad they do that because it's,
like, oh, production who always tries to fall out.
Like, the live feeders.
Yeah.
The live feeders.
It's nice.
So I wonder was that someone like Emer or like who was in his year telling me it was
correct because they clearly made a mistake themselves.
Was it just an honest mistake or did they really want a certain outcome?
I guess I wonder if it was more.
I would lean towards a human error only because I don't know if it was that close.
And you're still under contract.
No, no.
No, he would keep it real.
No, I'm just, that was a dig.
No, I'm just, I don't know if it didn't look close.
Like the girl, I feel like Jenny finished pretty far ahead.
So it's one of those things were like she probably could have fixed it if it was just switching those.
I mean, yeah, we've had to lift it all out, which takes a minute.
I don't know if it took as long though.
Because like the, you know, they show a little bit of tightness like, like Derek wasn't, you know,
that the gap between me and Johnny and Jordan was not huge and the gap between Jenny and
second place like was I felt like so you're saying hey you Johnny Jordan you're all within this
little time frame and then Derek and then for the women it was Jenny long time frame then
Rachel Carr that type that's what you're saying blah blah blah here's the thing if you told
Jenny it's wrong how long would it take her to actually be able to look at it and figure out how yeah she would
have and she would have to take everything out and put everything back in that wouldn't
even be the hard part. The hard part would be,
they don't tell you like, hey, these two
pieces are wrong. Well, also, was
it because I didn't study
the, I didn't study the free stream. I just saw
it like, oh, I didn't even care if it was. I was like,
I'm running with this one. I'm saying it was
because I do remember one thing that's interesting about
the puzzle is that when it was solved
for a lot of them, the boards weren't
like straight. Like, so could she, did she just need
to move over that? Plank here, yeah.
Like, move it over and then it lined up. I can't say
for sure. I don't know. And that's a great
point to make as being there,
knowing, hey, all the planks are together like this.
It looked like the top and the bottom pieces.
It was.
It was for sure.
No, location.
The actual definition.
Location changes.
Usually the equipment is much more like the G word.
Yeah.
And they don't have it.
I don't think prepared as far in advance.
Like, for example, on Battle of the Seasons when we did that Luge one, they were like,
yeah, San Diego, you have to go last.
Even though we picked the teams and we're like, why do we have to go last?
And I didn't find out I had to go last until we got to the very end.
And they're like, yeah, this Luge can't support.
someone who weighs more than 215 pounds.
So there's a shot it might splinter while you're going down.
And I was like, ghetto.
For sure, though.
And then I got shot out like 200 feet, but 150 straight up, landing on my face.
But yeah, no, it's ghetto when you get to those changes.
I don't know if that's going to offend anyone, but Cam said it.
So I feel like now it's fair.
No, we have, we have the past the ghetto mess now.
Yeah, we're talking about something.
Yeah, we're not assigning anything incorrectly, it feels like.
Um, so in this most recent episode, uh, you got those, those four words.
You're in the final.
So, um, how did that feel?
Especially there's a lot of people that have done more seasons than you, um, who
obviously haven't made a final.
So talk about, you know, how does that feel, man?
And when did you see it happen?
Make sure to add in there whether or not Johnny's horror stories were scaring you or just
pissing you off.
