Welcome back to the Zach Nichols podcast on a Halloween Halloween Tuesday here with my co-host, Mr. Zach Nichols. Tuesday is a real shitty day for Halloween. Yeah. It's rainy, middle of the week. I don't even care about the rain. Just like Halloween on any day, but Friday, Saturday. That's basically it. Yeah.

Well, I make the most of it. As you can see, what do you think of my costume? Oh, I didn't even know if you were wearing. Oh, he didn't? No. This is how I normally look. Well, it looks warm. Yeah, it is very warm.

It's like, I know the beast technically isn't a lion, but I'm going to, I'm going to call him a lion because lions went six and two with that home Monday night football wins. Oh, that's right. Yeah, I forgot. You're on payroll for the lions now. Making it on the big screen again. I'm working on some collaboration. How do you do that?

How do you get on the, is it just the energy you think you bring? It's the energy. It's also, um. You say you're like, I think the perfect word to describe your fan style would be synonymous. me. I am a wave of excitement. You are a wave of lions. Yeah. Honolulu blue hype. I'm also probably about 200 pounds away from being missable. So because I'm unmissable, I think they find me. You get the big screen every game you go to. Were you front row again? You know what I mean, you know, it's just go media stuff. I don't know. We don't got to say what row or what. I mean, it's tough to get it on the,

when, uh, when Gibbs, or Gibson jumped up into the crowd after his touchdown, I was looking for you. I thought You for sure get your making way over there. I gave him a little hug, but now we didn't make it. But yeah, man, season 39, we finished a whole season covering the challenge. That was just the, that was the, this is our first flagship. This is our first flagship. So this is like, strap in. Because it's going to be 12 weeks, 13 weeks.

So before we get into it last week, we had Michaela and Josh. Nice little, nice little duo for us. A couple of champs. Yeah, a couple of champ, not quite. Josh is a big brother champ. He is a big brother champ. He is a big brother champ. He is a big brother champ.

Neither challenge champ. Who's the first to get one, Josh or Michaela? Well, I think Michaela is, has a better shot of going there and winning one, but I think Josh is going to do them more frequently. So I'd say Josh. Yeah, the numbers are in Josh. She doesn't have any, she doesn't care if she goes back or not, which is cool. Right.

Yeah, no, she's, she's definitely a character in that she doesn't care to be one. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, no, absolutely. Yeah, I love it. Like when I asked her, like, when she was going back and she just was like, I don't know, whenever, I don't know. Yeah. That's cool. Was it like looking in the mirror?

No. No, because when I was, if I, when I was that, it was that good, I was going back. Well, the one thing, I'll say this about Josh is like he, and you said it to him is he has the eye of the tiger right now. Oh, he's, no, he's got it. He's fired up. Yeah, so we're excited to see them. He is driven. Yeah, hopefully we both see them both on 40.

We'll see, who knows. All right, it isn't getting hot. I'm going to take this thing off. Anyways, let's get into this episode. Yeah, oh, I'm going to leave the rest of the stuff on. All right. So, we are back. All right.

back in Croatia they get liquored up they kind of get no direction and they have to sleep there overnight have you ever had a challenge start this way for you? I've so I have gone right into a challenge

in Spain and Gibraltar we stayed up all night we didn't get any booze and we had to run up the mountain the next day I never slept in the elimination round though so that would have been a first for me I just this cast is I'm struggling with it, of course.

I don't think anyone, everyone probably predicted I would. Yeah, our fans for sure. It's like, I get it. New champion, but like, there's a lot of people that have experience that could be considered new champions. Like, you know, Nani, if she won't be a new champion. Correct. We've already said all this, but I think there's plenty of people

that are more deserving to be there than a handful of people that are there. Right. And they just went new everything new. I mean, the only, the only person remotely recognizable within the past three, four years is Michelle. Other than that, Michelle, Bruno, Big Turner, Corey, they did one season, but one season. Right, no, Big T's done four. Michelle and Jay have done, I think, two or three, or three each.

Yeah. So then after that, you really don't have anyone that's done more than one. Oh, Melissa. Yeah, well, they also kind of made a point to, like, make sure it was like people with limited success, you know? Well, actually, wait, Zara, I think she might have had one. She got second. Second.

The Challenge UK. Oh, the Challenge UK. Okay. So, you know, they want to have a new face here. These are super fresh.

Yeah. And they want us to fall in love with them. And I have, you know, we'll see. Well, I didn't. And neither did the,

the amount of viewers, the numbers. Talk about that number, a little scary on the viewership side. The viewership side was low. I don't like to see that. Bad place to start. Yeah.

Bad place to start. One of the fan questions asked, and I'll just kind of jump to it, Do you think the time had anything to do with it? I mean, they had it right at 8. I think the same time as Survivor, I guess they said in the question. Do you think the time or anything has anything to do with it or is it all the cast? I think it was a lot, the cast.

Time does have something to do with it, but not that much. Yeah. I mean, you don't want to compete with Survivor, just like you wouldn't want to compete with like a Monday or Thursday night of football or, you know, something like that. But I just think that a lot of people are tuning out until the big names get there. Like, I don't think people really care what happens until, you know, our dog's coming. Yeah, mercenary needs get there. Yeah. Well, we'll definitely get to that.

I'm in front of you. We do have our roster, so we'll just go through everyone real quick and just talk about it. And then I was thinking, you know, we could do a little fantasy, but let's just let it simmer a little bit. You know, let's just similar a little bit. We don't even know these people. How are we going to pick you know? I don't know. I'll tell you what.

I know a lot. I've watched all their, at least most of their original challenges shows, yeah. You know more than me. Okay, so real quick, we got Berno from Germany by way of Turkey. We have Big T, UK. We have Colleen from Germany. We have Huie, is it Hughie, Huey? I don't know.

I just say, I don't know. Juju. Hoy hoi. We'll call her Ju-Jew-Schoo-Schuster. So she's from, she's from, she, you know, put her name here. She's from Argentina. She's from Argentina. Oh, she's Argentina, okay.

Melissa from the UK, Michelle from here, Mariah from the U.S., Norese from U.S., Norice from U.S., Olivia from the U.S., Raven from the U.S., Zara from Monaco. I think she's in the UK now. Um, Jessica Woolsey, I don't care. I'm just kidding. No, I'm just kidding. She's from, she's from Australia. All the mercenaries besides one are from United States. We saw that all but, uh, all but Cass. Oh yeah. So yep, you know what I'm saying? The legends, you know where they from? They're from right here. We got Callum, uh, Chauncey, uh, you got Kieran from Australia, Corey, Ed, Emmanuel, Horacio. Emmanuel's from Romania.

He had done one. He did what, Spies Lies? Who? Emmanuel? Yeah, he did well. He made it almost to the final. And then Devin eliminated him on a series of puzzles. Really?

Yeah. Boy, Devin. Yeah. Huey, James, Jay, and Kylan. So there's a good mix of U.S. versus European, but not a ton of fresh faces. I'm sorry, not a ton of legends, all fresh faces. Not a ton.

zero not even a not even a little bit zero not one OG zero legends sir so anything else to say about that before we get into the episode I mean no no not at all not even a little bit no comment no comment it seems like MTV is putting a big emphasis on the singles and like the hookup culture uh there's some some beautiful people on the season are there weaknesses or advantages uh to being either single or taken that we as a viewer might not anticipate. We're like, hey, you're in the house, you know that there's this specific thing other than like the basic numbers thing. Like, I don't know.

Maybe living situation or making people kind of irritated. I remember who was it? Josh, how he was talking about how Pauly and Kara would just like together ignore him and it was just. Oh, yeah. I mean, it always depends. Like, if you're in a relationship with someone on the show, like it, and they have a lot of connections, you have a lot of connections.

But that helps. But then you're also a target because people are like, well, we're going to. going to split them up because they're never going to vote for each other. Going in single, I think, as far as like this cast, going in single is probably the move. For this cast, it's probably going to work out a lot better. Yeah. Because it's a mostly single cast and, you know, it's all about who can charm who and who can charm who and someone over.

Yeah. X, Y, and Z. So this cast, I don't know if there's a lot of people in relationships on it, really. Yeah. Which is fine. Yeah, just the only ones that is the only one that, the only one that, that makes it obvious as Chauncey, obviously, with Amber. Oh, yeah.

Yeah, other than that, yeah. Oh, man, Chauncy. Yeah, Big Chauncy. Well, Horacio is in a relationship now. Yeah, I think, I think that happens on the show. Yeah. Gross. Just kidding.

No order to talk here. Well, we'll talk about getting messy as it happens. What is weird? There was a girl on this couch a couple weeks ago that got a little messy in this episode. We'll be talking about her. Yeah. I got hysterical. I feel like,

don't you kind of feel like, I'm a father, but I'm a daughter. I'm going to have another daughter. But I just hope that my daughters understand that they should not go for the guy with a face tattoos. And this would be the second guy

with a face tattoo that Michelle is gone for. And it was funny because when when she's on the couch, she's like, yeah, I have no standards. Now I know what she was talking about. Yeah, dude, I was just going to say,

I was like, you're trying to make her feel better about it. Like, no, no, you do. She's like, no. Two types of people.

have face tattoos. Like certain, I guess like drummers, I guess more than one. Drummers. Drummer's, Travis Barker type. Yeah, reality TV stars and prisoners. Yeah. Those are the three types of people that you're going to find with face tattoos. So go Michelle.

Go Michelle. Great pick, by the way. On night one. That's a winner. Yeah. And he has a girlfriend, which I feel like is kind of status quo for a guy with a face tattoo. Yeah. It's like she's at the drive-thru.

Let me get a. I'll take the face tattoo with a side of girlfriend. Yeah. Also, he's going to, I need him to lie about the girlfriend because that's huge. Ad liar. Oh, wait. Above, above or equal? Let me get an under average contender.

No, we don't know that yet, but. He made to the final on the UK challenge. Oh, really? Yeah. Okay. I bite my tongue. He didn't win. He didn't win.

Okay. Well, I'll bite my tongue. I give him credit. If he made to the final, that means he's got some wherewithal. So, well. I wouldn't put very much money on him winning this thing, though. Okay, well, he's going to be a little sloppy for this game. Is there a reason or just saying it?

I just don't think he has what it takes to win even in this lackluster cast. Okay, well, we'll see. Well, since you got it, let's talk early favorites. Early favorites for guys to win? Yeah, guys.
