Is the internet now our third space?
Is that just the only place where you are going to meet like-minded people in your lifetime?
As someone who's in Gen Z, I maybe speak for all of us.
Most of us don't have a place to go after we are done with college.
Most of us don't have a place to go after we're done with classes in college.
Most of us don't have any sort of place where we feel we can meet people and we feel a part of something.
Community is definitely one thing that in our day and age has become kind of a puzzle.
Nobody really knows how to address it, and of course there are online communities.
There are people who exchange information and ideas on a platform such as this one.
But there is something to be said about being physically in the same place as another person
who is as curious, as well-rounded, and as talented as you.
makes me ask the question, where will we meet?
I'm in a city right now by the name of Krakuf, Poland.
And it is a city that has been around for
gillillions of years, not really.
It's been around a long time.
And one thing that always strikes me about this city
is the fact that there is a town square.
A town square in the past was where you had exchanges of different merchants, right?
They were selling their goods that they got from overseas, no Ken Carson,
and they were exchanging a byproduct of that information, books, different lessons that they
learned all over the world, not to mention there were squares at universities where people
would intermingle and exchange with one another.
Now, it's not like we don't have third places.
Theoretically, there are a lot of third places, right?
Like, we have coffee shops.
We have college campuses.
But the incentive of staying at these places is gone.
That is the uncomfortable truth.
The incentive of striking up a conversation with somebody and staying in a place is gone.
And I think there are a couple reasons around this.
It doesn't feel productive.
That's one.
It doesn't feel productive.
It feels like, well, what if I'm wasting my time?
What's the point of trying to talk to a random person I just met?
They're not my friend.
Why would I engage in this?
Right?
We just can't be asked.
And I don't blame anyone for that.
It's also a result of, you know, this hustle grind culture that we've created for ourselves
and the standard of needing to be perfect, which it seems to be a generational problem.
But also it's, um, it's just,
it takes longer than the immediate satisfaction that you get from,
I don't know, going home and opening up something to watch while you eat, right?
I mean, when was the last time you ate something without watching some kind of media,
scrolling or whatever?
I can't tell you the last time I did that.
Well, I can.
It was today because I consciously made that effort.
But it's just not as easy.
I do, though, think that there's a remedy.
for this. I think that the place that we will meet the most are going to be events thrown by people
from the internet. That is where I think the most people will interact with each other. And if we
play our cards, right, we might actually build some really good communities. I just don't see that
happening right now, though. And maybe it's an internal dialogue I've had with myself, but I don't
know, man. I feel like after college, like a lot of the run clubs and like the athletic places
that you can go to and all go join like a very expensive gym. Like these things immediately after
college are out of reach for a lot of us. And most of the time, we just want to like meet
other people who don't do the same things as us, but just think like us. That's really what it's
about. Like, I don't care that my entire group of friends are all into riding bicycles. I care that
like my entire group of friends is interesting and they're good people and they're funny and they're
fun to hang around with. Third spaces are a serious issue. I don't think we talk about them enough.
In the states, I think that they're hard to come by because by design, everything is created for
an automobile. And even the spaces that are supposed to be.
to be kind of like lived in.
They're just not.
They're just not.
Okay, flights on air Canada.
Where'd you want to go?
The Azores? For its hot springs and volcanoes?
Hmm, speaking of volcanoes, what about Japan?
Hmm, you know I love sushi.
Not as much as I love tapas.
Maybe, myorka.
We could hit the beach, then go hiking.
Hiking?
Or how about a seaside stroll in Sicily?
Ooh, I do love canolies.
Wait, what do you think of?
with a world of destinations to choose from.
Good luck picking just one.
Air Canada.
Nice travels.

Listen, I'm not saying that it's like something I have the answer to.
I definitely want to take my own stab at like solving this problem because I think that we need to socialize as young people.
Like we need to talk to each other.
We need to offend each other making jokes.
We need to say things and be corrected by somebody who has more experience.
Like we need these things and we just don't have these things.
And instead what has been given to us is a screen.
I'm not complaining.
the screen is great. The screen has changed my life and it has brought me to places I would have never
imagined visiting, but the truth is I still yearn. I still yearn for somebody to be in front of me and talk
to me like a human being. And I still yearn to be in an awkward conversation where I have a
visceral reaction because somebody is completely different than me and they have a completely
different opinion, but I want to listen.
Where will we meet?
Where will we meet?
Is it campuses and universities?
Because I think that that's not the case.
I went to college.
I know plenty of people that went to college and university.
And you know what they do?
They go to class.
I did this.
They go to class.
And then when they're done with class, they go home.
Because the class is usually a prerequisite.
where it's usually something that just doesn't really matter,
and you're just trying to get your marketing degree,
so it's whatever, and you go home.
And you have to go out of your way to make a connection with somebody.
You have to go out of your way to talk to people.
You have to go out of your way to be social,
because if you're not, like, the default is that nobody is.
When I look at, like, my grandparents' generation,
they had no choice but to be social.
you had to be social
there was no way that you were going to
go inside of a shop
all right in communist Poland
and order on a tablet that didn't exist
so you had to know what you wanted to order
and if you had you know anxiety ordering something
or talking to somebody new it was what it was
but that also created this
culture of talking to one another
of exchanging information
this openness towards just yapping and yapping a lot.
And the good thing about that was you had a lot of really brilliant minds meet in the same place.
Call it fate.
Call it just coincidence.
Call it design, right?
You had to communicate to be human.
And now I think that there is this push to do less of that.
It's weird to go up to somebody in public.
weird to look at somebody on the public transit. And hey, I get it. There are creeps out there.
There are weird people out there. But I mean in a way to express yourself and just observe the world.
Where will we meet? This is a huge problem too with how we meet our future partner.
Let's be so for real. That is a huge thing. I didn't meet my future
partner in college? No way. No way. I didn't meet them in high school. Okay. And I can only
imagine for some of you, like, it's really hard to just meet people out and about. Maybe one
solution I can think of is the idea that we as a generation need to post up more. We need to
go to spaces and just claim them. I mean that with parks, I mean that. I mean that,
with, I don't know, streets.
Like, we just need to hang out more.
We have replaced the time that we would spend with people with the screen.
I think we can have harmony with both.
I think you can still consume the same kind of content you want to consume while having a good
social life.
But in the same way that you show up for the screen every day, what if you showed up to a place
every day?
and for the sole benefit of just like talking to somebody or just hanging out.
We as a generation, I think, have mitigated truly hanging out and popping out and going somewhere.
Now, I'm going to eat my own words because I took a break from that.
I used to be somebody who loved going to the same place all the time, going to the same coffee shop.
I had my spots.
But at a certain point, you know, I had to lock in on my work.
I had to lock in on my grind.
Okay, you know, it happens.
but now I'm in a position where I have realized how important that is to my life.

How others, other people, other experiences, they, listening to them, have a huge
impact on my mind and the way it grows and what I learned about who I am.
Where will we meet? I think we need more events. I think we need more things to do for free.
That's also the base, dude. Hanging out in this park is free. Sure, you got to take the bus.
You can walk, though. It's free. And it also needs to be just easy. It needs to be easy for people
to do. It needs to be something that's seamless. And an event brings friction.
because it's like, oh, I got to go to that party.
I got to go to that thing.
I could stay, you know?
But usually the hard thing to do is the right thing to do.
Ah, man.
I just want to live in a world that is social.
Because we need each other.
You might not think that you need, you know, your homie that drives you nuts, but you need each other.
You might think you don't need the small talk at the cash register, but you need that.
You have no idea how small of an interaction, how big of an impact that can have on somebody's day, on somebody's mental.
It could change somebody's entire day.
You just taking a few seconds to chat them up at the kebab shop and just be like, what's up?
Where are you from?
How do you like Poland?
You know, simple things get overlooked the most.
And I think I speak for a lot of us by saying that we want these things.
It's not like we're not interested.
If we're finding community online and we're finding like-minded people online, it's great.
It's a step.
It's a tool, right?
It's like a club.
It's bringing people together.
But now I think we need to prioritize being in person.
with each other. We really do. We really do. I really want to bring the show on the road. I really
want to meet a lot of the people that watch this show. I think you guys are bright-minded. I think a
lot of you have incredible things going on in your lives that you probably don't even think
are that incredible. But if I heard about them, I'd be like, dude, that is awesome. That is so cool.
Already, because of the Zirke Show, I've met so many people in passing. I've met so many people
who are just driven, are passionate, are loving, are open.
It's a good group of people, and I'm really happy that all of y'all listen to me, you know,
and I can bring a voice to some of these thoughts.
We got to bring some inspiration from the past, and I think that a big inspiration,
our festivals, are public events.
I think that Gen Z can do this.
I mean, famously, we had the Area 51 meet up, like, years ago.
That was a troll thing, but I think that a lot of people have the same humor.
I think we as a generation have the same humor.
Finding ways to, like, integrate that into doing things.
Because the truth is, like, nobody is going to do this for us.
I don't think that we can wait anymore on people to bring back socialization.
Like, that's done.
I think that there is more.
power and keeping sadly people apart.
So I think we as a generation need to hold each other accountable to doing this.
That's the only way that we're going to be able to be more social.
What does that mean?
That means if you are able to bring your friends together, throw an event, go on a trip
somewhere, find a way to hang out in your local town, wherever in your local coffee shop.
Don't even buy the coffee, okay?
Just go, just go.
Show out, pop out, be outside.

Amazon Presents Jeff versus Taco Truck Salsa.
Whether it's Verde, Roja, or the orange one.
For Jeff, trying any salsa is like playing Russian roulette with a flamethrower.
Luckily, Jeff saved with Amazon and stocked up on antacids, ginger tea, and milk.
Habiniero?
More like habanier, yes.
Save the everyday with Amazon.
What I mean by that is like, talk to them.
You see someone that's cool that's got like,
Swaggy jeans, bro, and they got, you know, a lobooboo.
Talk to them.
This needs to be a change that we just have to adopt because, unfortunately, no one's
going to, no one's got the best interests for us.
I really don't, I really don't think that's the case.
If I'm, if I'm being honest, from me to you, I don't think that people are taking our generation
seriously because it doesn't, it doesn't impact them anymore.
It doesn't matter, right?
they're on their way out anyways
that's fine you know we can be upset at that we can be angry at that
but it's still the question is still there where will we meet
like where will the modern day you know
tarantino or the modern day jordan peel like where are they going to find
their other group of filmmakers or their other group of artists that they're going to
build with where will the the next urban designer right that finds ways to
build incredible buildings that are interfused with, I don't know, green spaces, sure.
Where are they going to find the architect that's going to help them bring their visions to life?
We need to be the ones to do it.
It's unfortunate.
I wish it was another way.
I wish there was already a system in place to keep track of people.
We need to build those things.
If you're outside of college right now, I really urge you, like, think of your interests and think of your hobbies
and think of the things that matter to you as a kingdom.
You've got to build your kingdom and you've got to find people who are going to live in your kingdom and you can build with.
And I just feel so strongly about this because I don't think I had this.
I didn't have this.
And I wish there was a easier way to find the people I was looking for.
I had to go online to meet them.
I had to go out of my way to find them.
And then the funny thing is, like, all of them, when I met them, they all said, dude, we wish we could do this in person.
Like, we wish we had something that could bring us all together.
I think it has to do also with education.
I don't know how many of you feel like you're getting an education that's worthwhile and that's actually stimulating you.
are you even studying stuff that you're interested in?
I would argue you're not because that's not the way education is set up now.
Education is a business, right?
College is a business.
Like these places, they are giving you a product, which is the degree,
and that degree is to help you get a job.
So most of the time, like, you're not going to spend the time and the money to study something
that isn't going to give you a return on investment.
I don't blame you. That's that's a that's a smart thing to do
But because of that people are not
Interested in studying the things that they have like a natural talent for because it doesn't call them and because they've been told it's not going to make the money
And yeah, maybe your interest in I don't know
Specific microbes or a really avant-garde type of calligraphy isn't going to make you the same amount of money as a you know Wall Street investment bank or a
of money as a, you know, Wall Street investment banker, but maybe that's like what we need
as like humanity. What if we would greatly benefit from your talent and the things that you give us?
Sounds good in theory, right? But in practice, it's hard because you want to live, I want to live.
And when Chili's is $60, you don't think twice about what degree you're going to get.
You already know it needs to be something that's going to pay the bills.
Where will we meet?
Where will we as a generation feel as if we are within our own tribe and feel as if we have a place?
How will we reclaim these cities?
How will we function within them and build a space for the next generation,
Gen Alpha, for whoever, like, how are we going to care about all of this?
well Zirke what if
what if that's not our job
who says that's our job
you're saying that it's important to do all these things
I don't care about any of that
it's not in my interest because what I care about
is what pertains to me
and everything and the world has failed
me and us
I mean you're right
I can't even
I can't even give you a counter argument
for how that's not true
of course.
There's more to life than finding the perfect car.

But if we don't care about these things, then we know where we're headed.
and we know that the way in which the world is now,
it's just going to exponentially get worse.
It's just going to become more isolated.
You won't have an option to talk to somebody.
It will always be AI.
It will always be a robot.
But if we do give just a little bit of care,
and if everyone just kind of thinks about it,
and maybe holds themselves a little bit accountable,
and maybe it inspires them to go out, do something,
throw an event, throw a party,
maybe it'll have like a positive domino effect on the rest of us
and we can all benefit from it.
Sure.
It's not your job.
I'm not here to tell you what to do,
but at the end of the day, like we are a part of society,
whether we like it or not.
We are a part of Gen Z, whether we like it or not.
It's kind of just how it is.
And yes, boo-hmm.
And yes, Gen X, right? Yeah, Gen X. They did a lot of questionable things. And the way in which they have lived life, we can't mimic it. But we can learn. And we can take the things that they had that were good and try to find our own version of that. We can take it as inspiration. I want to live in a world where I can interact with anybody I want.
to and I don't feel guilty. I want to live in a world where I feel like I'm in a society that
matters. And no matter what is happening in a government, in a position of power, I can just
enjoy being alive. Because I think we're always going to have turmoil. We're always going to have
problems. We're always going to have disagreements. But man, I just want to feel like it's cool to be human
and it's cool to be around.
But maybe a kingdom needs to fall before it can rise, right?
Maybe we need to hit the rock bottom.
We all need to have AI girlfriends and boyfriends
for us to realize that we have it all wrong.
I don't know.
What's good, bro?
No way, bro.
I'm recording a video right now.
What's good, bro?
What's your name?
Alex.
Alex, Shema.
Hi, everyone.
What's up, dude?
Are you from Poland?
Yeah, I'm from here.
I'm from Polish?
Yeah, okay.
Oh, I'm from here.
Yeah, I've seen a one of TikTok,
that's something that with Polish.
But I'm not saying,
you know, call it fate.
Met Alex over here.
He's a fan of the show.
What are the odds?
Where will we meet?
Where will we meet?
The saying right time, right place
is one that I think will define
what I'm getting at here.
The right time is now.
It is.
because you don't really know when the right time will be until after the fact.
That's the truth.
Time is subjective.
Like, it could be good.
It could be bad.
It's all dependent on how you're going to perceive that time.
The second part, place.
That's where you need to put in the intention.
Where are you spending your time?
What environment are you building for yourself to attract.
other people into it. Are you somebody who brings people together by hosting events, hosting parties,
hosting pickup football games, right? And wearing a Bellingham jersey. I don't know, right?
What is your specialty? What is the thing that you are really good at? And can you bring people
together? Build a place, whether that is your basement, whether that is your backyard, whether that is
an alleyway in an eastern European city. I don't care where it is, where you can bring people
together and create that right time, Zerky Show. Maybe for you, it's going to more events,
showing face at more things, making it a priority to go out and explore and try and fail.
But see, nevertheless, right? See.
Where will we meet is a question that only time is going to answer.
Because I don't know necessarily where I might meet you.
But the truth is, if we're meant to meet, we will.
And if we're meant to have these places, we will have them.
But also, we need to be the ones to say that we need them
and to solve that problem by creating them.
Today's episode of the Zerki Show was filmed in Krakuf, Poland.
Look at this.
I mean, we are right here by the Viswa River.
It is gorgeous. It's sunset, and I'm by the Vavelle, which is probably my favorite castle in the entire world.
