One of the reasons I think people burn out is they don't know when to admit they've done a good job.
When to recognize, you know what?
I'm chilling.
That was a good job on my end.
And I deserve to take a break.
And I deserve to get myself that $9 latte that I cannot justify the price of.
Why?
Because I need to celebrate myself.
You need to celebrate yourself in your life.
Do you know why?
because nobody, I promise you, nobody is going to do it for you.
I have learned that with my birthday.
I have made the conscious decision for the past two years to not celebrate my birthday.
Just no.
Why?
Because it's like, well, that's what I tell myself, but it's actually because I think people
will celebrate it for me and I will have a nice surprise party and that would be awesome.
But guess what?
celebrating yourself is more important than that surprise party.
It is more important than, you know, waiting.
You have probably worked very hard recently.
I don't know what it's been that you've done,
but maybe you were studying for an exam and you did a great job
and instead of acknowledging that you did a great job on that exam
or that you had a great job.
great date. You went on a date. You were anxious. The date went well. You had a great day where you
were productive. Instead of celebrating yourself, you punish yourself for it. You tell yourself,
no, no, no, no, no, no, that should be the standard. That's how every day should be. Because you're
comparing yourself to people that do that. That's their daily routine with the Saratoga water
and rubbing a banana peel all over their face. And you think that's,
That's what I should be doing.
And you're confused as to why you don't make progress
and why you're not able to continue the momentum of changing your life,
your routines, your habits, your day-to-day.
I don't know.
Maybe it's the fact that you are not giving any kind of positive reaffirmation
or positive feedback to you doing something good for yourself.
Instead, you are actually giving yourself more work.
And I get it, you know, the reward for hard work is more hard work.
And there's a lot to be said about that, right?
But if you do not take just a minute to acknowledge, yo, that was sick that I did that.
That was great that I got this opportunity and I aced it.
Why would you work to get that opportunity again?
Why?
You wouldn't.
And you won't.
Celebrate yourself.
you've wanted to go on a trip to visit your friend that moved across the country.
Okay, make that something that you're going to work towards.
Make that something that will be the celebration to a very hard thing in your life.
Maybe that's getting your taxes done and go.
And go.
You told yourself that you were going to buy some air maxes that your mom could never afford to buy you in middle school.
Once you get that promotion at your job,
job or once you graduate college by them why do we suppress it why do we tell ourselves you know what
no no no i don't deserve this like uh it's like whatever it's life you worked so hard for that you
should be able to celebrate yourself and it works in the other way too because if we do those things
too often then it does not hit and if we do not let ourselves struggle a little bit in our own lives
to obtain, to get to a certain position where we can enjoy these things, they lose all meeting.
If you eat ice cream every single day, it won't hit the same as if you eat ice cream once a month,
once a week even.
Because you know, once, you know, you get that scoop in the waffle cone.
And it's drizzled and chocolate sauce and it's got some, you know, some sprinkles on it.
Hmm.
You know, once you get it in your hands,
that you're celebrating yourself.
Yeah, boy.
Oh, yeah.
But I think it's a really dangerous thing, man.
I think that a lot of people do not recognize
when they do a good job and when they have done well.
It's the same thing as when people compliment you.
I sometimes am like, really?
You think I'm doing good?
Like, I'm just doing me.
I don't know.
And if it's good, that's great.
But it's kind of an odd thing.
Need a vehicle that isn't afraid to make a splash?
That's the Volkswagen Touse.
Capable and confident,
the Volkswagen Touse is fit for everyday life.
Nimble in traffic, agile and tight spots,
and still spacious enough for weekend getaways.
While available 4-motion all-wheel drive gives confidence in rain,
and snow, the capable taos, you deserve more confidence. Visit vw.ca to learn more.
SUVW, German engineered for all.
But I think it's important that you recognize it and also, geez, that you celebrate other
people around you and you tell them, you tell them that they're doing, that they're doing a good
job when they're doing a good job, because we don't do that. We don't do that enough and we
just let people think like they're just, yeah, that's the standard. Like,
next time someone makes a good burger for you or gives you a good matcha say that it was good
tell them tell him what's up you know tell him what's up because maybe that person needs that
in order to be like yo i can i can celebrate myself and i can i can be like i'm doing good but instead
we just close ourselves off and we create this really negative feedback loop and it's like we never
give ourselves a break we tell ourselves that we cannot go on that vacation
even though we can afford to go on it and it's like really like a couple hundred bucks but we think it's going to be like 20 grand we don't work within the confines of what we have instead we stress because we don't have the best thing it's like celebrate yourself with what you've got and if that is like if that is eating something other than chicken and rice while you're on your gym bro diet so be it that's beautiful make one of those incredible protein heavy recipes
that you see people make on, you know, on here.
Do it.
You've got to celebrate yourself.
You've been consistent at the gym for a month.
That's a beautiful thing.
Celebrate it.
Remind yourself that hard work is worth it.
Because if you don't, you will not work hard.
What is there to work hard for?
We work off of feedback.
We work off of knowing that something is doing well.
And, you know, when we start out with something new,
sometimes there's no feedback.
Sometimes there's not even any information if we're doing something good or not.
It's kind of like, oh, I guess.
I don't know.
Sure.
So set some kind of benchmarks for yourself, you know.
Make it fun to exist as you.
Make it fun.
Because if you don't, you have nothing to look forward to.
Because it's like life is life, you know.
You kind of have to.
It's kind of a free roam.
You got to make your own objectives.
It's kind of like it's Minecraft, man.
It's chicken jockey all over again.
It's literally you have to decide, what do I want to do?
I want to go to the nether.
All right.
So you got to work.
And then when you go to the nether, you can eat a golden apple as your celebration.
You know, celebrate yourself.
Because there's no, there's no moment where I think you will be like,
Oh, yay!
No.
If anything, you're going to get to a certain point.
You're going to buy those lubitons.
You're going to be like, what?
But maybe those lubitons mean a lot to you, and you want them,
and they represent something to you.
That's great.
That's great.
Celebrate yourself.
Get them.
But if it's just, well, when I do this,
I'm going to get the lubitons because my friend did that,
and it seems cool.
Yeah.
not going to hit, obviously. It's not personalized. Like, you have to personalize it to you.
Life is, life isn't, it's individual. As much as we are in a tribe and we are together and we are
working to not make Chili's a $60 experience and we want to, you know, get it closer to the
50-40s mark. We are all different. We are. We all have things that we like. We all have things
that we dislike. And so you need to, you need to understand what will
you motivated and what will keep you going because times will be tough and times will get so tough
very quickly and you just the only thing maybe that will keep you going is the idea that you can
celebrate yourself and you can just take a break there's more to life than finding the perfect car
but finding the perfect car can help you get the most out of life like the SUV that handles
everything from drop off to off road and the car that hulls groceries and hockey teams or the van
that's gone from just practical to practically family.

You're going to be swimming underwater, breaststroke,
and then all of a sudden you're going to gasp for air.
And that moment is when you celebrate yourself and you're like,
I'm doing a good job.
And then you go right back into the water and keep trudging.
But again, if you do not build that for yourself, it won't exist.
Nobody is going to celebrate it for you.
You can be celebrated, but if you do not celebrate yourself,
if you don't have a good relationship with that,
then you're going to wait for it.
And that will not come because you will not be able to be happy with your own progress.
You won't be able to celebrate yourself
and tell yourself that you've done a good job when you have done a good job.
It has been a battle for me to be able to feel content,
feel at peace
it's still a battle with me sometimes
but I feel now
like I am able to celebrate myself more
I get a
every day feels like a celebration
sometimes because I get to do
what I love
and I celebrate that every day
I wouldn't take it for granted
and there's moments
there's been moments recently where I have noticed
that I have
and I've been like
I can't be, you know, I can complain.
Sometimes complaining is valid, but I cannot look the other way on this.
Like, this is something very special.
And the people in my life right now are very special.
And you, the Zirky Show fam, you are very special.
Don't you ever forget that?
So it makes me really, really happy.
And it makes me want to continue to celebrate my stuff.
And for me, it's simple.
I like simple, simple things.
Like having a nice meal, trying something new.
There's an Afghan restaurant in Austin.
I'm going back to Austin today.
I cannot wait to try it, bro.
It's been, I've marked it on my little Google Maps calendar, and I'm like, I'm going there.
That's my little celebration.
I'm like, I'm munching on some, you know, some food.
I love doing that. I love doing that.
I love getting a nice cup of coffee.
I love going for a nice walk.
I love traveling somewhere new.
It's always been that. It's always been that.
You know, it's nice to experience the nicer things in life.
It is.
But the simple things, the simple things to me are a celebration.
And that's how I celebrate myself.
When I've had a long day and I take myself out for a walk and I feel good and I look at the different leaves and trees.
and I'm like, all right, this is, this is dope that this exists in the same universe as Chop Chin,
in the same universe as Friggin Packett, in the same universe, as Stephen Universe, we have all
of this and we can go and enjoy it most of the time because some of it be private.
And I don't understand why they do that.
Parks should be free.
Beaches should be free.
Why do we pay money to go there?
It's like, dude, this spawned here.
Let's keep it that way.

When you do something nice for yourself.

Beautiful.
It's a great idea.
Maybe you also love vintage football kits.
Okay, get yourself that vintage Wayne Rooney shirt from 2006, 2007.
Do it.
You know, get yourself that Ronaldino jersey that you've wanted to have, the Barcelona one, when you reach your goal.
But also just find the ways to celebrate yourself in the moment.
To be like, yo, that was a great day.
And say it out loud, say it out loud, and put it into your brain that, like, you can have a good day.
It doesn't have to be all about the externals and everything that you're messing up.
You can have a good day if you got 50% of what you want to done, done.
That's great.
Change the threshold.
You got to work with yourself, not against yourself.
Life is too short.
To constantly be battling with yourself.
It's just too short for that.
And for some of us, it's easier than others, and I get that.
But all I'm asking is for you to try your best and celebrate yourself, Zirky Show.
