Starting point is 00:00:00 Why do I feel so guilty for doing something that has no meaning? I just want to, I don't know, go to the store and look around. I don't even want to buy anything. I just want to go and sneak on to a soccer field and take some shots on goal. Not that I'm going to play soccer ever in my life. For a while, everything I did in my life, there was a point for it. Because I had sold myself on this idea that my time is so valuable that if I, waste a second of it doing anything other than what I need to do, I am missing the point.
Starting point is 00:00:39 But that made me ask the question. What's the whole point? Why are we here? Does anyone have an answer? Yeah, a lot of people have an answer. History has an answer, right? I mean, there are scientific explanations for why we are here. Some people who are religious will not agree with you and they'll give you a different reason for why you are here. Regardless of any of that, the point still stands that you are alive right now and you are living your experience. And there is a good chance that you feel like this experience, this life that you have, needs to fit into some kind of brick in a larger building of society, in a larger scope.
Starting point is 00:01:31 But the thing is nobody tells you what that is supposed to look like. A lot of people give you ideas from when we're young. We are told how the world works only to go into the world and realize that all of that is wrong. All of that. All of it. I am very frustrated at the fact that I had a lot of people tell me and put limiting beliefs on me when I was young. And there's a good chance that's happening to you too. The whole point of your existence, in my opinion, is to find something that you think defines you and the way that you want to live your life.
Starting point is 00:02:23 And the way in which you look at things and the way in which what excites you, what makes you feel loved, what makes you look at the world and actually feel a sense of pride, content, is will not be the same as anybody else. That is just the truth. There are certain things in which you will align. There are certain ways that you will feel, you know, close to people because they also have the same point as you in this existence. But honestly, the whole point is for each of us to figure out, for our own selves. It's foolish to just grab onto an idea of, well, my point is to, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:08 exist and have a family. I think that's great if you want to have a family. I think you can make that happen. But you've got to ask yourself like that, is that a genuine desire? Or are you doing that because you think that's just the whole point of everything? It's tough.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Oh, thank you, bro. What's up? My whole point, I think, is to keep learning. I love to learn. I'm somebody who likes to think that I learn the best through experience, through perspectives, and through channeling,
Starting point is 00:03:55 channeling honestly a lot of my fear into action and doing something about the way I feel and expressing the way that I feel so that other people know that they can do the same and they can feel the same way. But I've met a lot of people who are convinced that their whole point was to be somebody successful or their whole point was to have some kind of great career or do some kind of crazy undertaking, and they failed. They didn't even give themselves the chance to try something else. Dude, I pivoted so much in my life.
Starting point is 00:04:30 I did so many changes. This right now what you're seeing is not going to be the way in which I end my, you know, career doing what I'm doing. The rigidness that has been put onto so many of us from a young age, starting from like having to decide your entire future at the age of 18 which I think is honestly just the biggest slap in the face for young people bro how how are you supposed to tell me that I am supposed to have everything figured out like I'm supposed to have you know my 10 year plan at 18 at 18 I didn't even know what I was doing the next day I had no clue and you're supposed to
Starting point is 00:05:11 see the future first As a teenager, don't worry. That's not your whole point. Okay? That's going to college, getting a job. That's not the only thing that you were put here to do. If that makes you happy, though, and that's what you want to do, and you just want to keep it simple, keep it chill, keep it nonchalant,
Starting point is 00:05:37 that's cool, dude. That's your whole point. Enjoy. But I have a feeling that not a lot of you want to do that. I have a feeling that a lot of you maybe have a call. No John Pork. You feel like someone is calling you, you want to answer, but you are afraid. And the reason that you are afraid is because it's unlike anything you have been taught in school.
Starting point is 00:06:02 It's unlike anything that you have been given a roadmap to. You know the meta for getting a good grade at school. You know the meta for doing a good job at work, right? People train you, people show you the way. But what you don't know the metaphor is living a good life. Because it's so subjective. I used to think that my whole point was to please other people. That my whole point was to live life in a way that was going to make other people happy.
Starting point is 00:06:36 And that my needs didn't need to be met. A lot of that came from the way that I grew up. I wasn't in a position where I was able to outwardly say how I was. felt. There was always more at stake and I was playing a politics game within my family. I had to keep the peace. And these limiting beliefs of not being worthy enough to have my own opinion, to have my own desires, it essentially has seeped its way into all of the relationships in my life and most importantly the relationship with myself. I am struggling right now in real time.
Starting point is 00:07:29 I am getting into arguments that are a result of me sabotaging myself. It's not that somebody else is doing me wrong. It's that I don't deserve to be done right. I have that belief. And part I think of my whole point is to ensure that this line of thinking, this kind of sabotage does not seep in to my future to the relationships that I have moving forward. There's a point right now that I am at and I want it to be done. Now realistically, will it be done? No. No, it won't. It will be something I have to
Starting point is 00:08:19 deal with every single day and be cognizive of and actually try to work towards. but struggling and working through issues, working through problems, I think that that is, that just builds so much meaning into the person that you are, into the character, the human being that you want to be. How do you expect to do things that make you proud if you don't, if you're not willing to suffer a little bit? If you're not willing to, you know, make something bad, make a misconduct. mistake, not do super well. If the whole point was to be perfect, if that's really what you think, if you think that's what the world is about, I'm sorry, you're in for a rude awakening, this world does not operate on perfect.
Starting point is 00:09:22 It's a stretch to say that it operates on good enough. Most of the time, it doesn't even do that, dude. This world operates on action. It operates on people doing things. not saying things, doing things. And maybe you have thought that the whole point of your existence is to wait on something good to happen to you and that does not happen
Starting point is 00:09:54 unless you make it for yourself. It won't fix itself. Your mindset, your environment, the place that you're in, it won't just magically change. You have to do something about it. and the beauty of doing something about it and actually treating it like it matters and like, you know, the point of your existence of being here, of learning matters, is that you get to set sail onto a journey and you get to look at the world as more of a school than anything else. The world is the best teacher. and it teaches the best when you show that you have some kind of initiative and you have this desire to do something.
Starting point is 00:10:54 If you don't, you kind of stay idle. It's like a video game. If you don't go out and do the quests, you know, introduce yourself to somebody who you find attractive, make the first move into actually starting that side hustle or planning that trip you can't just expect for it to come into your lap. Perfection is the enemy, in my opinion. I think that the whole point of a lot of the dreams that we are being sold and the idea of the world is to sell you perfectionism. It's to sell you the idea that you will be perfect if you have something more.
Starting point is 00:11:42 You will be perfect if you fit in. You won't be able to. to make a mistake if you have all of the material items and you have all of the things, the looks, the thought patterns that fall in line with everybody else. Maybe that's a reach. Maybe it is. But I've seen so many of my friends just kind of stop.
Starting point is 00:12:18 They had a point. They had something they were going after. They had a way of living their life that I admired because it was different from everybody else. A lot of it came from a childlike wonder, a desire for more. They just stopped. They had an obstacle, which was that their friend group didn't accept the way that they were interested in something. They didn't accept the way that they dressed.
Starting point is 00:12:49 They didn't accept something because it was, it was threatening order. It was threatening the... the status quo. Starting point is 00:14:09 And when you don't have that, you have to actually look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are wearing a liboo-boo-boo because you want it because you think it's cool. Or are you doing it because you want to be performative and you want to show people that you're with the culture or that you are cool? And so when they get this opportunity to be themselves
Starting point is 00:14:37 and they're shot down, they realize, okay, the whole point for me is to fit in. It's the same thing with like for a lot of us in relationships, right? You think that the whole point of being in a relationship is so that the other person doesn't leave you. That's not the whole point. You think that the whole point of being in a relationship is love bombing somebody or giving your all to somebody with minimal reciprocation because that's how you think you'll win them over. That's not the whole point. Sometimes we just have to learn.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Sometimes we honestly just need to get slapped in the face by life and be dealt kind of a bad hand, a bad moment, so we can lift ourselves up from it. But what a lot of people do is they're tired. They're tired. At some point, when you're trying to be good to the world, and you are convinced that you're, you are being good to the world and you have good intentions and you are doing nothing but wrong
Starting point is 00:15:54 and you keep making mistakes at some point you will give up and you will turn bitter and you will think that indeed there is no point there is no point in being nice there is no point in the way in which you're approaching things i've been in a lot of situations in my life and a lot of moments where I thought something was wrong with me or I thought that something was wrong with the world and that I was the exception and that maybe I was doomed cursed, whatever you call it,
Starting point is 00:16:45 it wasn't cut out for me. Whether that was a career, a friendship, a person, some kind of interest, a hobby, whatever, I was just like, not for me. I urge you to really look at the way in which you interact with the world around you. Really look at the way in which you are in your relationships, acting, being. Are you genuinely trying to be yourself? Or are you putting all of the interests and the thought and the love and the appreciation
Starting point is 00:17:32 into the other person and just walling yourself off because you don't want to get hurt. You don't want somebody to come and maybe poke holes in your vulnerability and actually find that like you're anxious. I've had to break through that facade so many times. I didn't know really what anxiety was until someone pointed it out. And they're like, you're just an anxious little guy.
Starting point is 00:18:01 Yeah, I am. I am anxious. I am anxious about the people that I I care about and I, you know, I love them. And I care about the way in which they see me. And sometimes I get anxious about the fact that I cannot control how they're going to look at me. And I try to be like, I try not to be human. I try to be perfect.
Starting point is 00:18:33 And that always backfires. Like, you can't. Need a vehicle that isn't afraid to make a splash? That's the Volkswagen Taos. Capable and confident, the Volkswagen Taos is fit for everyday life, nimble in traffic, agile and tight spots, and still spacious enough for weekend getaways. While available 4-motion all-wheel drive gives confidence in rain and snow. The capable Taos, you deserve more confidence.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Visit vw.ca to learn more. SUVW, German engineered for all. This episode is brought to you by FedEx. These days, the power move isn't having a big metallic credit card to drop on the check at a corporate launch. The real power move is leveling up your business with FedEx intelligence and accessing one of the biggest data networks powered by one of the biggest delivery networks. Level up your business with FedEx, the new power move. You can suppress your emotions for so long. You can try to be a robot for so long. but it's like
Starting point is 00:19:44 it will always surface it will always seep out of you it will always be something that the people that are closest to you pick up on it's like that one friend that you know that always acts like they're not mad when they're mad bro I know you're mad you're big mad okay you know I I'd smoke to you in FIFA
Starting point is 00:20:08 like it is what it is bro but own up to it you know the whole point was for you not to pick Arsenal okay they're just they're not good in the game I don't know No diss to Arsenal fans, all right? You guys are winning the league, right? All right.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Wait on, I got to do the Giochereche. Yeah. Arsenal's new number nine. Oh, my goodness. I love it. I love it. Wait, is he a number nine or is he a striker? Somebody who knows ball, let me know.
Starting point is 00:20:38 The whole point of this conversation, this monologue, this yap, is to basically make you know. that you're on a journey. I don't know if you know it, but you're on a journey. And that journey is one figuring yourself out. That's the journey that all of us are on, that we all share. And the way in which you approach this journey, I want you to approach it with intention.
Starting point is 00:21:14 I want you to think about it. And I want you to, I want you to ask yourself like, why suffer? What is your why? If you're going to put hours into something, if you're going to put, you know, your time, your effort, your love into another person, into some kind of idea, into becoming an architect, being a boat engineer, whatever it is.
Starting point is 00:21:50 What is the whole point behind you doing that? Because baseline, there really isn't a point. if you strip away everything, like if we just look at the experience for what it is, it's an empty canvas. We're the ones that put these standards on. We're the ones when we hear you will be appreciated and you will be successful if you have a consulting job out of college and you have an internship sophomore year. And if you don't do that, sorry, you cooked it. You messed it up. You were goofing off.
Starting point is 00:22:30 You were actually living life in a way that was. meaningful to you, but that's not in line with how the world works. That's something that's been put on to you. It's not actually how you might view it. Because when I broke away from feeling like a failure, because I didn't have an internship, when I broke away from feeling like I never had anything put together, I didn't know what I was going to do, I didn't know what city I was going to move to after college, when I just made my whole point. doing things that I knew I loved, I knew I was good at, and I knew would help people.

Starting point is 00:24:54 And in a day and age where there are so many reasons to not get out of bed, because the world is backwards. It's frustrating. It's shocking. And it's humiliating. This perspective on life has given me a reason to get out of bed. And maybe that's the whole point is to find your reason. You don't have to have a concrete explanation for why it is what it is.
Starting point is 00:25:31 But Zerky Show, at the end of the day, it is your life. And you've got to find the things that work for you. Not for anybody else. Today's episode of the Zerky Show was filmed in Como, Italy. What a beautiful place. Italy. What a beautiful country.
Starting point is 00:25:48 I've been eating so good. I've gained probably 20 pounds. I'm bulking. I'm eternally bulking. We're going to figure it out. If you are ever in a position where you can travel, go somewhere new, go to Italy. Seriously, it is a beautiful place. The people are incredible.
Starting point is 00:26:05 The food is unreal. I've eaten pizza every single day. I've been here. I've been here for a week. It's beautiful. Did you know that the Zerky Show is everywhere you go? That is correct. You can watch it.
Starting point is 00:26:15 You can scroll. You can stream it. The choice is yours. If you want to tap in, these are the best ways to tap in. Do the things that bring you joy. And I want to address something really quickly. A lot of you comment on my videos saying how much the Zerky Show has helped you. For some of you, it has taken you from a really dark place and given you a new perspective on things.
Starting point is 00:26:37 I appreciate every single one of those comments. But I want you to know something. I am immensely proud of you. because there are a lot of people that hear things are told things but the way that things go sometimes you're not in a moment in time to be able to accept a new perspective
Starting point is 00:26:58 because you are still figuring yourself out and you're still just dealing with a lot of things that are going on in your life the fact that you took something that I said and you found a way to apply it in your own way is not an easy thing and for that I just hope that you sell yourself today in some kind of way. I'm giving you full permission. Whatever that is,
Starting point is 00:27:19 except for a $60 Chili's Day. Do not celebrate in that way. Well, maybe. Whatever. If it's a triple dipper, I'll let it slide. I am proud of you. I am proud of this community. I'm a, I'm, I'm proud of the fact that so many of you see eye to eye with the struggles that we just face. This life thing ain't easy. It's simple, but it's, it's not easy. And a lot of the things that we even think are simple are very complicated. So take it easy on yourself And accept the fact that you're doing something really incredible and you're doing Something good for your mind and good for yourself when you put action into your life
Starting point is 00:28:00 Other than that, Cirque show If you're trying something new just know that I believe in you and as always I am sending you lots of love and Peace
