Starting point is 00:00:00 Maybe you have had the same experience where you just feel like something is off about somebody. And it is. It always is. Why is that? Why is that? This is an uncomfortable topic to make a video about because I know some people do not believe in this. They think that this is a whole lot of BS. Bologna sandwich.
Starting point is 00:00:22 Famously, bologna sandwich. There's just a lot of content out there about spiritual. about following your instinct, following your heart. And I used to think it was all trash. I used to think that there's nothing, there's no merit to that. There's nothing to see there. What life is is what life is. There's no, there's nothing to follow when it comes to making decisions.
Starting point is 00:00:58 But that's just not true. at least my experience has just not been that. I urge you. If there is one thing that you do in life, it's to follow your intuition. I urge you. I wish I knew to do this sooner. I wish.
Starting point is 00:01:19 And I do it a lot. I do it every day. It's become something that is indispensable to the way that I make things happen. Now, sure, scientifically, that might mean that I'm just going off of instinct or I'm just the first decision in my brain is the one I make, but I don't know. And maybe somebody can validate me.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Maybe you have had the same experience where you just feel like something is off about somebody. And it is. It always is. Why is that? Why is that? Anytime I have gone off of intuition, even in the moment when something does not make sense, when things are not working out, but I'm following the intuition, I get to where I need to be.
Starting point is 00:02:09 And maybe that is just survivor bias, right? Or it's the bias of something going right. And so you feel like your intuition is goaded. And it's like, you know, messy World's Cup 2020 guitar level. But I don't know. I live my life off intuition now. I just have learned to trust it and like trust myself. And I've had too many examples where I have like gone against it because I'm like, no, no.
Starting point is 00:02:50 I, I, this, it makes sense on paper. And everything crumbles. Everything crumbles. I'm not here to debate what it is because I don't think that that's, I don't know what it is. I don't know why I will feel certain things and I'll be like, this is wrong. Something is off about this. But I think that everyone has this. I think everyone deep down knows that they have an intuition.
Starting point is 00:03:13 You can probably look back at a certain. instance in your life where you know you felt like something was wrong something was weird and you could not put your finger on it that's usually how it is but you kind of just went with it anyways even though like i don't know maybe somebody was telling you oh you should go to this party but you like knew that you really shouldn't have gone to this party like something's off about it or someone is you know deemming you being like hey what's up you know hey i think you're cute and you're like this is a bot this is a hundred percent of bot but you're in Intuition is telling you, hey, no, like, they're low-key valid.
Starting point is 00:03:49 I don't know. I just, intuition is so strong. It is. But it's only strong if you allow it to really be strong. And if you actually follow it and you don't judge the journey in which you go down. And that's, I think, the big thing that I've learned to do now. I go off of my intuition. I go off of what feels right.
Starting point is 00:04:11 And it is represented. in the way I make the show, the Zerky show. It's all off of intuition. All of my titles are off of intuition. It's not like I'm GPTing, you know, some kind of make me an awesome title and a topic. No, I just, I try to pull, I try to pull out, I try to pull out of myself things that are important that I want to talk about. And that's why intuition is so, so integral to that. It's so integral to that. It's so integral to just how I live life. I have done so many things that don't make sense that if you told my mom and dad, they would say,
Starting point is 00:05:00 What, are you crazy? Yes, I am. Yes, Mama, I am crazy. Sorry. No, but I don't know. I don't know. What do you think about intuition? Do you think it's a valid thing?
Starting point is 00:05:20 Or do you think it's us psyching ourselves out? Because maybe it's the latter. Maybe it is really that, you know, we think we know what's good and what's bad. And so we're making a decision based off that. But I don't know because there's been also instances where I've been like, ah, like this is a great, this is a great opportunity, but I do not, something is not compelling me. And I can feel it like on the right side of my body that is like, no, do not do it.
Starting point is 00:05:46 but I also know like on the left side when it's like oh yeah like you should run it you should do it you should try it and even when I've like failed or it's gone wrong something has always come out of it that was important to me or good for me and I use intuition for steering the way in which I I execute things and I do things because oftentimes my intuition is a not actually the perfectionism that's fighting against me. And that's interesting because those are two different things, right? Like intuitively, I will know if I want to make something or if I want to create something. Let's say I want to make a sculpture, right? Intuitively, I will know that the best way to make that sculpture is to just make it, to buy the clay, sit down, start kind of carving,
Starting point is 00:06:43 start having like a rough idea. And even if it sucks, intuitively, I know that is how I want to make the thing. That is the easiest way to make it, and that is where it is going to take me the quickest to the end goal. But the perfectionism will sometimes hijack our mind to think, wait a minute, no, no, no, the intuition is wrong. The intuition is trying to make you to do something that it's just like dumb, it's silly. You actually, what you need to do is you need to first study, because I studied, bro, you got to study what kind of art you want to make or what kind of sculpture you want to make, and then you can think about the type of clay you want to do. It's just adding all of these steps when there should be none of that.
Starting point is 00:07:30 At least in my creative process, there's none of that. It's the same thing as like when I started to really trust my intuition of like I know what my talent is. I know that I'm good at speaking. I need to speak as much as possible. That's when I got the most opportunities. But when I would shut that down and when I would kind of suppress that in myself, I was unhappy and I wasn't, oh man, I can feel it right now just thinking about it. It was bad. It was bad. I just
Starting point is 00:07:58 didn't like what I was doing. I wasn't happy. I wasn't fulfilled with myself. But this is, this is a weird gray area because how do we pinpoint what our intuition is? How do we learn to listen to it? Because what if our intuition is telling us to dump our situation ship that we met off hinge, but they're fun to hang out with, you should dump your situation ship on Hinge, because that's not what you want. It's your intuition is what you already know is true. It's probably true. It's what you feel is off, gives you kind of that irk in your, in your gut. It makes you feel like, oh, something is wrong. That's, you need to follow that. And acknowledging that it exists is the first place because maybe for some of us we have learned to again just like not give those
Starting point is 00:08:58 feelings or emotions any kind of uh you know importance because ah that's just yeah you're doubting yourself oh no that's oh what are you scared are you scared but what if it's not it's not you being scared it's like your your soul is trying to tell you something of like yo no i don't think that this person has the best interest for you no i don't think you actually want to study medicine. I think that's what you think your parents want you to do when you actually really want to do law or something. There are a lot of decisions that we make that are completely based and predicated on other people. Our intuition, on the other hand, knows what's best for us. It always does. There's always like this hunch. And I've even used it in real-life situations. Like there's certain
Starting point is 00:09:55 streets that I would get like a, you know, I'm walking alone at night. And I'm like, something in my gut is telling me to not go down this street. And I don't know why, but I don't want to test it. I don't know. I just don't want to test it. And also intuitively, I've had moments where I was like, okay, I need to do this. This scares me, but I know, like, intuitively, I'm like, this needs to be done. I have to do this. I have to tell, you know, the person. that I don't like, that I don't feel the same way that they feel about me, even though, yeah, I mean, it would be cool to go on a couple dates and get boba or whatever and then never see him again. But that's just not respectable.
Starting point is 00:10:38 And it wouldn't sit good on my conscience. Follow your intuition. Follow your intuition. There are certain things that you cannot understand yet. There are certain things that you cannot see. And I am telling you this because it doesn't make. make sense. It doesn't. It doesn't make sense. It does not make sense. None of it. But rarely do things in life really make sense. Yeah, there's certain things we know that it's like, you know,
Starting point is 00:11:10 baseline. But there have been so many just moments in my life where something was telling me to just not pull the trigger on a certain purchase or something was telling me to not be so concerned about a certain situation, it would work itself out. There were other times where everything seemed peaceful, everything seemed good, but something was wrong. Something was very wrong, and I just could feel it. I was like, something is wrong. You know, intuitively right now, I'm even experiencing like, I am stressing myself, and
Starting point is 00:11:50 intuitively, I'm like, there's nothing to stress about. Why am I stressing? It's because I'm out of balance. It's because I'm out of balance. That's really what it is. And I'm finally getting down to the root of that of like, oh, dang. Like the fact that I haven't been keeping up with my hobbies, my sleep, my, you know, I've been traveling like crazy like Anthony Bourdain, which is dope. But like, geez, this is a lot, you know.
Starting point is 00:12:19 It's making me realize I got to get back to balance. And that's really what's causing this like seesaw of emotions. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to follow my intuition. It's also a crushing feeling when you want something to be true and then intuitively you know it's not. Oh, let's get into it. When somebody tells you, you know, I love you. And you're like, no, you don't. No, you don't.
Starting point is 00:12:49 You don't love me. I've played these games before. I know. I miss you. No, you don't. You don't miss me. You do not miss me. You want something from me.
Starting point is 00:13:06 And that's okay. That's cool. Hey. HE, triple Y. It's like, come on. Nobody's calling you out of the blue to just, you know, tell you that they miss you. I mean, maybe some people are, but they want something. Intuitively, you feel that they want something.
Starting point is 00:13:27 They want to get back together. They want to see you again. I don't know if I'm a see you again. If you rewind it, it's like, no. No, I don't want to see you again. I'm good. I'm good off that. I'm following my intuition.
Starting point is 00:13:47 Something's weird. Something's odd. If it's too good to be true, it is. It is. It often is. Just the reality of things. And maybe if it seems too good to be true, but intuitively you feel like it is.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Maybe it is good. Maybe it's not too good. Maybe it's just good. And you have to just try it. Okay, Zirki, how do we tap into our intuition? Like, how do we build a conversation with it? How do we actually talk to it? Uh-huh, uh, old reference.
Starting point is 00:14:28 Great question. That's a really good question. Here's what I would tell you. Okay? This is what I do. The first step is noticing it. That's the first step. And it's understanding what, what, is it a physical?
Starting point is 00:14:47 Is it a mental? is it a this is so woo-woo but is it a spiritual thing do you when something is on like something is like that's good how do you feel it is it a pressure is it a relief is it a tension is it some kind
Starting point is 00:15:03 there's some kind of maybe bodily response that you have from it where it's like that is a clear yes and then is there some kind of visceral response to a clear no of like and sometimes your intuition just I mean we'll kind of the decision up to you. Maybe there is no right answer and both are fine. You have to kind of be okay
Starting point is 00:15:22 with that. That's the first thing. You've got to just notice, you know, admitting that this is a thing is the first step. Now, how do you follow it? You have to make a conscious decision and you have to also let yourself sit with a problem. Oftentimes we'll have maybe a gut reaction of like, if someone's like, yo, you're trying to go to Waterberger tonight with the Broski. and you're like, no. Instantly, like, you can feel it like, no, I don't want to go. I actually want to watch the GTA 6 trailer again and dissect all the scenes in it. Okay, cool, right?
Starting point is 00:15:57 You have an instant, like, no. Or you know you have to study for an exam, and intuitively you're like, no, I can't do this. I have to lock in where I'm going to fail this class for the second time. Jeez. Roof! Okay. The next step is following that. It's when you feel it, it's like a predicament.
Starting point is 00:16:19 addiction. Okay. Now I know. If I do go to Waterburger with the bros, something will be off. I will know that something is off. And my intuition is telling me that that is not a good idea. I, even though it's, like, imagine that it's like one of your best friends you haven't seen in years. Oh my goodness. It's like the prime opportunity. But something is off about it. Then you, like, listening to that, that's what you need to do. That's how you follow the intuition. Now, here's the hard part. FOMO. FOMO.
Starting point is 00:16:58 This is where trust comes in. This is something I've had to, this is, I have learned this and I'm still learning how to do this, but time and time again without fail, it has been a saving grace in my life. You follow your intuition. You make the decision. And no matter what happens, no matter if, you know, that hangout was the best hangout ever, it's awesome. You have to stick by your decision.
Starting point is 00:17:25 That's how this works. That's how you build a relationship with your intuition. Because you can't be going and cheating on it. You know, this isn't Love Island. Like, you know, you have to commit to the intuition. If you want to listen to it. If you want the powers of it, you know, quote on quote. But if you just want it to guide you,
Starting point is 00:17:46 you cannot allow yourself to be swayed super easily by the opinions of others, right? Real alphas are not. concerned about employment. They're concerned about alphaism. No, but okay. What I mean is you have to be okay with the fact that you might make a decision that your gut is telling you as the right one. But in the actual moment, it seems like why did I even make that decision?
Starting point is 00:18:12 I was overreacting or this didn't feel right. Trust. Bro, trust. You have to trust. Sometimes the reason you made that decision. won't become evident right away. It might take months. It might take years. There are certain opportunities that I decided against, like working with certain people that now I'm very thankful I didn't work with because my goodness, something was off about it. They seemed a little too
Starting point is 00:18:44 eager, too friendly. They didn't seem like they were going to respect my personal space. And I was like, no, thank you. And then something comes out that they were actually a really terrible person. I don't know. It's happened. My belief in maybe this is my own is that we've always had intuition. We've always had it. It's just that some of us maybe are more willing to access it than others. Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong. Honestly, like, I don't care if I get flack for this video. People are like, oh my gosh, he's trying to be spiritual. But you know what? My intuition is telling me I have to make this. Because I think there is somebody out there who maybe is wrestling with this idea that, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:34 oh, like, I've been making all of these decisions all of my life that I knew were wrong. Like, deep down, I knew they were wrong. But they seemed logical. Like, it seemed logical to go to this college because that's the best college, even though I really liked this other college. Or, like, it's logical to date this person because they are way more attractive than this person. And, like, that is, you know, when my friends look at it, that is the logical thing to do. But there are a lot of things in life that defy logic.
Starting point is 00:20:06 And I'm not here to sit and harp on them, but I think we have this intuition for a reason. That's my point. What that reason is, I don't know. I don't know. It could be random. It could be, you know, like gambling. I don't know. I really don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:29 But what I do know is that, dang it, every time I follow it, good things happen. Why is that? Why is that? I guess we'll never know. No, maybe we do. Maybe it's an instinctual thing. Maybe, you know, when we were out in the, out in the caves trying to find caribou and, you know, and tigers to hunt. Maybe that's how we were doing it is based off intuition. Oh, maybe I shouldn't go in that cave. Oh, anyways. I'm going to do it anyways. You know, that's what happened. But I don't know, man. Intuition is powerful.
Starting point is 00:21:23 It is. I'll stand by it. It's one decision. It's one decision that leads to the next. And if you feel like you haven't been following your intuition, wow. You are on the precipice of having an insane journey. If you allow it. If you tell yourself, you know what?
Starting point is 00:21:46 All right, I'm going to just, I'm going to follow. my intuition, I'm going to see where it leads me. Because if you're going off logic all the time, you know, logic is important. Don't get me wrong. Not rapper logic. Incredible True Story. One of my favorite albums
Starting point is 00:22:01 of all time. But imagine a scenario where you decide today, okay, I'm going to follow my intuition. And I'm actually going to try that hobby of stained glass making. Let's see what happens.
Starting point is 00:22:18 You go to a class, you spent the money from your job to go to this class and learn this skill. And then you meet a guy who has an art studio who does stain glass for a living. And he's like, yo, I really like you. You seem really interested in this stuff. Do you need a job? Do you want to work for me? And you're like, well, what does my intuition say? Yeah, I do want to work for you. Okay. You go and you enter into a studio and soon later you realize how much you love this thing. And you're like, dang wait like I want to be in the stained glass business that's I'm following my intuition let's go into it and imagine that you go down this this hole of going and and you know and following your
Starting point is 00:23:02 intuition and it actually leads you to a new place completely that you could have never imagined but it's so much better than anything you could have ever wanted now you're making stained glass murals for churches and you feel like you have an importance in your work and all of the hard labor and manual skills and blood sweat and tears it's poured into something that feels good it feels real all of that happened because of one decision to follow your intuition all of that happened because of this and it's snowballed the compound interest of following your intuition zirki show, it is like nothing else you'll ever see in your life.
