Getting laughed at for something that you love, you feel passion for.
You would literally spend hours of your own life pursuing or learning about is one of the worst feelings in the world.
You have something that you feel makes you unique.
You have an interest, whether that's an airplane, whether that's a certain car, whether that's a certain kind of animation.
It doesn't matter.
sadly people who don't have passions
who don't understand the same passion that you have
will call you cringe
if it doesn't fit the mold of what they think you should like
it's cringe
oh you like to you like to draw horses
mad cringe
oh you still play Minecraft at 23
mad cringe
be more cringe man
here's why
everyone
that's cringe when they're younger, learns who they actually are.
Why?
Because when you stick by what you love and your passions, a couple things happen.
First, you feel secure in who you are.
Because you know, and this is kind of a truth of life, not everyone's going to like you.
You'll be, you know, you'll be doing your own thing and someone will look at you and just decide they don't.
like you and guess what it's out of your control if someone doesn't like you they
won't like you unless they decide to change right but also by being yourself and
being cringe you're gonna meet other people who are cringe and who see you for who
you are not for an archetype that you're trying to play this is another problem
I'm seeing across the board and maybe some of you have kind of witnessed this
there are like internet subgroups the gym bro the pick me girl whatever people are buying into archetypes
to fit in it's not anything new i mean this has been happening for centuries because it gives you an
identity right like if you can just be the gym bro that's tatted and listens to deaf tones while he
deadlifts then why would you need to like do i don't know a speech class why would you need to go out
and try to do ceramics.
You don't because you already have the identity.
Because I guess being a gym bro is not cringe.
And it takes all the fun away from being who you truly are.
Be more cringe.
Be more cringe.
Do that thing that you're afraid of trying.
For me, I've always wanted to do a glass work.
class. You know those like glass windows that are beautifully created, stained glass.
But I knew it was kind of, it's kind of not, it's kind of weird.
In communities across Canada, hourly Amazon employees earn an average of over $24.50 an hour.
Employees also have the opportunity to grow their skills and their paycheck by enrolling in

learn more at about amazon dot ca i was like screw i'm going to do it anyways i don't care and i went and did it
and it was awesome and i met so many cool people by doing it because i was like screw it i don't care i don't care
what someone's going to say about me i can't control that so let me just go out and do it maybe there's
like a manga you want to read i don't know and you're like oh that's kind of weird
Who cares, bro? Who cares? Like, who cares?
Is the question you got to ask. And if it's you, that's enough. That's all you need.
Now, I know I'm going to have some people who are going to combat this and be like, bro, like, there's definitely cringiness.
And I get it. There's definitely cringiness in terms of action in terms of how you can interact with people.
Missing social cues. Absolutely. But I don't think you learn really how.
to be yourself or like be around other people if you don't be cringe like if you don't get called
out for it if people don't challenge you which is i think another problem like i'm very grateful
that when i was younger and i was obnoxious and i was like theater kidding that i had people be like
you're cringe because it made me have to defend myself i'd be like no i'm not why you think i'm cringe
because because dude you're die like you should be you should be playing football like you
you're acting it's just weird it's like cringe
okay well what if i like to act more than playing football
i mean no whatever bro like it's not it's not that deep
it's literally all it is man be more cringe
find interests there are a lot of people in our generation
who like just won't try things because they're afraid of what other people will say
and that's been the course of history a lot of people have just felt closed in
and they're afraid to try something new.
But here's the thing, right?
Like, you cannot control what somebody else is going to think of you.
You can't.
That is out of your control.
So if you let that go,
what you can control is doing the things that you like,
trying new things,
trying to find a skill that speaks to you.
And it doesn't happen overnight.
You got to just try a bunch of things.
different things. And some of those things you won't like, some of those things you will love.
And when you love those things, you double down. You go full in. Like you learn about that thing.
You geek about it. There's an interview where Tyler the creator mentions that the geeks, the people
who stay passionate, stay around. But you know what those geeks were once called? This, they were
called cringe. They were called cringe. Look at every.
one of your favorite artists at one time, people were like, this is cringe, until it works. It's
cringe until people see the vision. It's cringe until there is an acceptance around it because
you stood up and you said, no, I'm going to do, I'm going to do my own thing. No, I'm going to do my own
thing. I really think of my younger self when it comes to cringiness, when it comes to conforming,
because I had to give up things that I was passionate about
because I wanted to fit in.
I stopped acting.
I loved theater.
I was in a play in seventh grade,
the sound of music.
I was Rolf,
which Rolf is a German soldier Nazi,
and I'm Polish.
So that was interesting.
I wonder if they knew what they were doing there.
But what I learned very quickly was that a lot of the people I had crushes on
in middle school just thought that acting was cringe.
and the popular group of kids,
they didn't really like theater.
So I was like, okay, I want to be accepted.
I want a social climb.
I got to get to the top.
So I'm going to give up.
I'm going to give it up.

Luckily, Jeff saved with Amazon

Another thing I loved to sing.
I was in choir.
And in my freshman year of high school,
I quit choir.
I didn't even do it because I was like,
this is going to be cringe.
It's going to be weird for me to be an athlete who sings.
When in retrospect,
that would have been the coolest.
thing ever. Someone will always think what you do and what you're interested in is cringe. So you have
a decision. You either listen and you let all of your interests and passions become things that
aren't even what you're interested in and just the interests of others or you double down and you let
people call you cringe because in five, 10 years, they're going to be like, yo, how do I like,
how do I find like a thing I like? Bro.
Welcome.
I'll tell you how.
Be more cringe.
One of the biggest cringe things was actually wanting to do YouTube.
Like I've wanted to make videos for a long time.
And I was, man, I've gone through like probably 10 different channels with different themes, with different ideas.
I made videos.
Some people liked them.
Some people thought they were so trash.
But it was, you know, it was kind of cringe until it wasn't.
That's kind of how everything goes.
But there are a lot of things.
So I explained all of that to you.
How do you actually find things that you're passionate about?
This is something that's come up a couple times in the comments of my videos.
Man, it's hard.
It is not easy.
But it really comes from exposing yourself to a lot of different things.
It comes from just putting yourself in situations and seeing if you like being in those situations.
I don't know.
going to a pickup soccer game, seeing if you like soccer,
going to a class and seeing if you like a certain thing.
I, in college, thought that I was really passionate about producing music
until I did a music production class, and I was like,
hell no, uh-uh, that shit is not for me.
Because that is like, that's a different level.
There's levels, and that is a different level.
So it takes a lot of trial and error.
and some people find their passions really early on in life like they know they just know what they want to do
some people it takes being cringe and figuring out different things and maneuvering here and there and being
like okay do i like this okay i don't like badminton do i like swimming maybe i like swimming do i like to
draw yeah i do like to draw what do i like to draw i like portraits okay i'm going to start tapping into more
portraits so it's it's not like a if-then statement you just you have to
start trying things, which is easier said than done because it takes intentionality.
And that is hard.
So it's writing down a list.
This is what I would do.
If I was really trying to find my passions again, I would get a piece of paper and a pencil
or a pen.
And I would just start writing down things I think are interesting.
But if you don't have things that you're interested in and you're kind of on a clean
slate, you are in the best position anyone could ever be in.
Because you can explore literally anything and everything.
Find a bunch of just different things to do.

And she'll tap you in to a podcast.
And you might listen to a podcast that's about serial killers.
Serial.
Great podcast.
and then you'll be like, man, I really, I really like these detectives.
They seem pretty chill.
And then you might want to dive deeper into true crime or being a detective.
And who knows?
Maybe in 10, 15 years, you might actually be working on a detective case in the middle of
Colorado.
Who knows?
But it doesn't happen if you don't even try it.
If you just decide, no, I'm not really interested.
