Starting point is 00:00:00 Should sex offenders be able to serve in church? Does Jordan Peterson believe that Jesus is God and his birth control the same as abortion? I'm Preston Sprinkle and you Patreon-only Theology in Raw podcast. Thank you so much to my growing number of supporters for supporting the show. so much to my growing number of supporters for supporting the show. And I hope you enjoy the following podcast where I'm going to address several of your questions that you sent in. If you are a Patreon supporter, then just so you know, you can message me with your questions and I will do my best to address those questions on the next Patreon only podcast. Yeah. So Jordan Peterson basically was asked, you know, is Jesus not just
Starting point is 00:01:06 divine, but divine. Well, he was asking if Jesus is divine and he kind of slipped out of it. He says, well, we all are, have the spark of divinity and started talking about, you know, the gifts that different people possess. And, and just really, according to the other lady who was on there, I think he really slithered out of, that's what she said. She says, Jordan, you kind of slithered out of the question. I think she's dead on. I think he did slither out of it. I think he started talking kind of mumbo jumbo about the eternal logos manifesting itself in each one of us.
Starting point is 00:01:37 And that's why we are valuable and all this stuff. And I was like, you just smokescreen everything here. Like it just, you did, you slithered out of it. But she called him on it. She says, Jordan, you slithered out of it. I want to ask you again, was Jesus divine in a way that you and I are not divine? And his answer was terrible. It was convoluted.
Starting point is 00:01:58 It made no sense. And I don't know if he thinks it made sense, but it clearly didn't make sense at all. His response was render unto Caesar what is Caesar's God, unto God what is God's. That's a miracle. That's a separation of church and state. It's like, what the heck does that have anything to do with the divinity of Jesus? I mean, she did mention the passing, like was Jesus divine in a way that we are not? And then she kind of mentioned in passing, like, you know, did he do miracles?
Starting point is 00:02:23 Did he do this? Did that? kind of mentioned in passing, like, you know, did he do miracles? Did he do this? And it's kind of a side note, whether or not Jesus did miracles, it has little to do with his divinity. Many humans in the Bible do miracles. Moses performed miracles. Elisha performed miracles. The apostles did miracles. Just because you do a miracle doesn't mean you are divine. It means you are, you know, empowered by the divine. And plus, uh, Luke, the gospel of Luke and the book of Acts is really clear. Um, that the reason why Jesus was able to do miracles is not because he was divine, but because he was empowered by the Holy spirit, the same spirit that empowers
Starting point is 00:03:02 us. That's made, uh made very clear several times. And I believe it's Luke chapter five, another passage in Luke, I think, I think in Acts, oh gosh, Acts seven or eight, I forget. Anyway, it's there, Google it. And so yeah, the fact that Jesus did miracles is not a, does not mean he's divine. Yes. Jesus is divine. Yes. He did miracles, but it's because he's empowered by God's spirit, the father spirit, um,
Starting point is 00:03:30 that, uh, that he was able to do miracles. He, he relied upon this, um, power of spirit to do miracles. Thank you.
