Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, friends. The following is a teaser of a recent Patreon-only podcast where I talk about various things like what is going on with all the controversy surrounding the upcoming Revoice Conference. Here's my main point is when, well, a couple of things. When my friends use the term gay Christian, they are not, they are not using the term gay to speak to their primary fundamental identity.
Starting point is 00:00:42 They are simply using the term gay as a synonym for same-sex attraction. They are not saying, I am gay and that's my primary identity above all others. They are not saying, I am gay and that is the essence of my humanity. They're simply saying, look, the term gay is widely accepted. It's a familiar term. It basically just means same-sex attraction. I mean, it may conjure up images of gay sex or gay marriage in other people's minds. But when I use the term gay, it simply means I'm attracted to the same sex, not the opposite sex. It's not my primary identity. It's simply a description of an aspect of my life. So when I hear them, my friends, people who actually are okay with the
Starting point is 00:01:25 term gay Christian, when they explain what they mean by it, I'm like, oh, okay, that's fine. I can live with that. I still maybe have some pushbacks or concerns or things to think through, but I'm okay. You're not completely out to lunch. You're not off the island or whatever. You know what I mean? It's a secondary conversation that we can have over the table with bread and wine. You're a brother and sister. Let's have this discussion as a fellow brother and sister who is committed to the more important things, like what is the definition of marriage and what is sexual immorality and so on and so forth.
