Starting point is 00:00:01 You guys want you switch halfway. I didn't need it. You don't have a bad side. Ashton. Just please, I can't hear about it this the whole time. Please switch with her. Please. This is my therapist.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Yeah. Like, I'm going to be talking to you like this the whole time. But like if I'm talking like this. You look beautiful from this side. We got to get going. Cheers. Cheers. Eyes. Cheers to Earl Meets World out on Netflix September 4th.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Eyes. Is our all camera set? Is everyone good? Is everyone happy? No. Why don't we take a big sip? Okay. One, two, three. That's good. Delicious. So how are you guys feeling?
Starting point is 00:01:02 Chugging that. About Earl Meets World out soon. I watched the whole thing. Are you feeling better than you felt before watching it? I felt better once you watched it. And you were like, oh, I like it. I loved it. Oh, thanks.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Is there anything like that you guys wish you spoke about more? Oh, so we're just getting right into it. Like, I didn't even get an introduction. Like what happens? He's just like so small everything. Alex Earle, Ashton, Earl. You guys don't need an introduction. Do you want one?
Starting point is 00:01:32 Yeah. Okay. Alex and Ashton are two of the biggest influencer soon to be reality stars in the world. with their new show, Earl Meets World, out on Netflix, September 4th. It is eight episodes, and it follows around your family and your friends. I'm so excited.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Are you, okay, so what made you feel better about it? I think once I finally got to, like, see the whole thing, and I was like, okay, it's coming out, it's happening. I don't know. I think, like, I was so nervous about, it's just a different side. Like, you would agree, right? It's, like, a different side than you would see of me online.
Starting point is 00:02:10 It's very different, but it should be. If it was the same side, of you online, then we'd have a problem. I know, but, like, I'm scared for people to be like, oh my God, she's a bitch. I actually did not think you came off as a bitch at all. Did you think she came off as a bitch? I didn't watch it.
Starting point is 00:02:24 In the moment where you, like, she's a bitch. Well, I always think Alex is a bitch. She's my sister. Yeah. But the thing is, like, you know what's crazy is you? I think I had, like, I just didn't know what filming a reality show was like before we actually started.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Like, I had such a different idea in my head. I thought it was just like, I don't know, like cameras rolling all the time, 24-7. Like, we were kind of fitting it into our schedule, which I think I would do differently next time. Like, I think I would, like, clear off three months and just only film. And be, like, cameras up 24-7.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Because we were like, oh, okay, we'll film this weekend. We'll film this weekend. So it was, like, pretty jumpy. And in the beginning, I was so nervous. Like, I think the first, like, few episodes, I don't think I smile or speak. I remember you, you were kind of awkward. And I was really surprised. I'm telling you, I'm the worst on the show.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Like, everyone in my family shines. And I'm like... I don't think that's true at all. I was just so nervous in the beginning. Like, it was scary. And the first thing we filmed was, like, the breakup and moving out of Braxton's. And that was, like, a really, really hard moment for me. And I was like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:03:27 And there's, like, 10 camera people here staring at me, like, sobbing and snotting. So that was like, it just took a second to get used to, I guess. Yeah. But by the end, you were, like, free crying. You were not scared to cry. I cried the whole season. Yeah, but, like, it felt, it felt to me, different than your content, a lot different.
Starting point is 00:03:45 I know, that's what I'm scared about. Wait, why? It should be the, in my mind, it should be the opposite. If it's the same, if it's the same thing as your content, then it all it takes is for one person to turn it on and be like, well, I guess I could just watch it on TikTok. Right, but like, I'm just afraid of people hearing me like complain and like, that's like, whatever, I don't care. It's funny.
Starting point is 00:04:03 It makes you relatable. Everyone complains. How was Europe? That was the best two weeks in my life, I think. Oh, I know. I know, I know. I know. I really needed that as a reset.
Starting point is 00:04:12 think we need to move there. Alex kept saying, you were not dinner the other night. Alex kept saying like, okay, like we could do Italy. I'm like, Alex, you're not buying property in Italy. What if we did? I mean, Alex, the way you would call me at 7 a.m. and you'd be at a party and you're like, you have to come. Everyone's asking for you every day. And I like couldn't come. It's just better there. Everyone's better. The guys are better. The guys are better, aren't they? Like, they just don't make them like that here. What do you mean? Like they're just more forward. Yeah, I feel like they're more like outgoing. They are more forward. Like they don't care.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Like they are just, I just like how they, like, guys here won't like just go up to you and be like, you're beautiful. They like want you to go into. Right. It's like. They like, they like, they like, very beautiful girl. Yeah. Sexy. Fuck me.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Yeah. And you're like, all right. I wish that the cameras were up. I wish the cameras were up in Europe. Oh my God. I don't. Oh my gosh. It was so great though.
Starting point is 00:05:11 I mean, I like had a really good time. I told you. I know. Yeah. You've had a good summer. You've had a great summer. And you had a, you had an unenjoyable summer last summer. Wait.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Did I do last summer? No, no, no. Was it us that had a bad summer last summer? I didn't leave my bedroom last summer. I was very depressed. I remember I called Ashton every day being like I hate my life. And I was like, you guys are so, like, all you do is complain. I would literally lay in bed every day, not move.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Oh, Ashton was depressed last summer. Yeah. It's because we were having, like, um, a couple of, um, a couple of, come down from Brat Summer. Yeah. So then it was like, oof, like this summer's just never going to be that good. Yeah. And then I completely outdid Brat Summer this summer.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I know. You did. I honestly had a great summer too. You did. Do you feel like you had a summer? Yes, you did. I felt like my summer kind of started and ended like at, well, okay, it was that our Monaco weekend into the next week.
Starting point is 00:06:05 I forgot about that. Best week in my life. I forgot that started our summer. That started our summer, which makes me feel a part of the summer. summer in some way because that did start it and I was there for that you would have had. I know. I miss out on a lot of trips this year. Ashton, what do you have to tell us about your summer?
Starting point is 00:06:20 I've had a great summer. Oh yeah. What do you have to tell us about your summer? I feel like I've made a lot of new friends and like anyone in particular? No. Okay. Every time I go to drink, I laugh. It's just hard because it's like, you know what I will say is I felt like.
Starting point is 00:06:45 I made a lot of new friends this summer. A lot of new friends. I made a lot of friends. This was the summer of making new friends. I think I ventured out of my comfort zone. I feel like I got more social. You got way more social. I was,
Starting point is 00:06:58 you've done a complete 180 this year. And I think because everyone was like, oh my God, every time I meet you, I think you are such a bitch because I don't speak because I am afraid. Like I think when I meet people, like they don't want to meet me.
Starting point is 00:07:10 So I just like don't. Wait, what do you mean by that? Like I think when I'm meeting people in my head, I'm like, they don't want to be talking to me. So then I get awkward and don't say anything. But now I'm better. You're a shy person. I will say when we first met you, we weren't shy.
Starting point is 00:07:25 You weren't shy. I went right up to your room and we had the best night ever. Because you were having a panic attack. So I had to be like, oh. Totally. What was your favorite city you visited in Europe? Honestly, Sardinia was really pretty. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:38 It was beautiful there. Especially after we got out of Ibiza, which felt like at the end of it, like a black hole. I mean, how long were you in a Biza? Oh my God. I think that was not good. Did you go out every night? Yes. One night I took off and it was like, I went on like a little dinner date, but that was like not partying, but then we did go do a party, but only for like 30 minutes. Okay. Is there anything on the show that you're like, I wish I did, I said this. I wish I didn't say this. Well, I think like looking back now, even in some of my, because how we did our interviews, which is like the confessional. we did it like throughout the season and one I just wish I like put on some like makeup and blew out my hair for them they were like we wanted to be like really chill like you're like sitting on the couch natural and then I'm like looking at it on the big screen and I'm like oh my gosh maybe not
Starting point is 00:08:30 but we would film them throughout so I think like I could have been maybe like a little bit more comfortable I was more comfortable towards the end I would say but you forget and like in the moment it feels so scary because you film a conversation. for like an hour. Right. So you think that everything is going to be in there and like you get out every single point and it's like there's like a minute or maybe two minutes of the conversation that actually makes it into the show.
Starting point is 00:08:55 So I think that was also stressing me out too of like I cannot even possibly get all my points across if I wanted to because it's like all going to get cut out. And even things that we filmed like there was, Roxston and I filmed this, which I told you about this before, but we filmed this like Valentine's Day campaign for. Margs. I remember this. What happened to that? It just we he ended up not wanting to do it anymore after we did it. So we filmed the whole thing and we also like filmed it for the show. Like I was talking about it. It wasn't like done for the show but was he mic'd up like was he on the show? No. Okay. But we were doing this Valentine's Day campaign which when Brax and I broke up, we were like very
Starting point is 00:09:40 amicable, very good, and we came up with this idea, and I was like, this would be so fun, and we're both investors and sit margs, and, like, it'll be great. But basically, the idea was, like, break up with bad margs, and it looks like we're breaking up with each other, but we end up breaking up with the margs, whatever. It was like... So it's like a split screen, and it's Alex and Braxton talking, and they're like, I just don't think this is working. I don't think this is done-da-da, I don't think blah-da, and then you zoom out, and... It's like, it looks like we were talking to each other, breaking up with each other, but when you zoom out, we're, like, not in the same booth.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Like, I'm talking to, like, a bad margarita, and so is he. And it was just, it was all my idea, and it was so phenomenal. And then it ended up not going through last minute, but that was something we filmed for the show of, like, talking about, like, behind the scenes after of, like, oh, my gosh, this isn't going live. And what are we going to do? And now, like, the Simargs doesn't have anything to be for the spring. That didn't make it in the show.
Starting point is 00:10:37 You guys fought a bunch on the show. Did we? Should I watch it? I'm like scared. Have you not? I like, I'm too scared to watch it. You got in a fight about a few things.
Starting point is 00:10:46 I'm about to fight her because she told me she was going to bring me one of those shirts. Well, I made these shirts. She had another one that said no comment legally and I was going to wear it. How good is that? Wait, it's cute. Your sisters. I wanted to have my own moment.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Sorry. So we fought a lot on the show. A little. Like you, like you fought about her staying with you. Then you fought about. when she leaked You thought when she leaked the real actives
Starting point is 00:11:13 Which in the moment I don't even want to talk about it Okay Like we can talk about it But like don't ask who's right or who's wrong Because I'm gonna freak out You think you're right still No comment
Starting point is 00:11:26 She thinks it's not that big of a deal It was the full bottle It wasn't it was like half a second of me like With the full bottle Did anyone in the comments catch it? No it was up for like two minutes And she lost her bosongas on me.
Starting point is 00:11:39 She screamed. You could have handled it more nicely. I couldn't have screamed I was texting you. You were texting in all caps. I was about to say, when you pretend to look for another manager on the show with your dad, did he fully buy into that? Or did he like, because I could read it on his face that, like, he thought this was real. He was purple.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I've never seen my dad that worried in his life. Are you nervous for the show to come out? I'm terrified. I was really nervous. and now I've decided to just like let go and let God. It's happening. It's out. Like it's already happening.
Starting point is 00:12:14 What am I going to do? Nothing. This is a good time for us to move to Europe. That's what I said. We could go in September and go away for a little. No, what I think you should do is cameras up immediately. Cameras up for reactions. Like cameras up immediately now.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Because like the reaction to it is going to be interesting. You talk about a lot that you do not speak about online. Yeah, I guess. You don't publicly say. anything about like you're like you'll be like you'll say things like I'm upset I'm going through it I broke up but you don't you really get into it on the show I know that's why it's scary but we tried to just like trust the process a little bit I mean I don't know if I should say this either but like when we were filming and I was like hanging out with someone and they would like always like want me to
Starting point is 00:13:02 like talk about it I do think like I can expose myself but there's like a point when comes to, like, other people that, like, I don't want to expose their privacy. Are you nervous about that? No. Okay. I feel like you were nervous about it. But now I'm, like, I should have just, like, spoke. In the moment, you were nervous.
Starting point is 00:13:21 I do remember that. You were really nervous. But can I be honest? That's not really a big plot point of the show. Yeah. A big plot point of the show is Raxton. Your breakup with him, moving on from him. You figuring out what you want to do.
Starting point is 00:13:35 I still don't know. You want a model. I loved that storyline. Really? Yeah. Was it like weird and crazy? No, it's what you wanted to do. It's what you want to do.
Starting point is 00:13:44 I think it's so sweet. Like, you're so sweet in the show and I'm like, oh, Ashden. Weird and annoying and gross. Why do you think that? I don't know. Every single one of you is so concerned about how you come off in the show and it's really insane to me. Like Sally was freaking the fuck out.
Starting point is 00:14:00 I don't know why Sally's freaking out. What's Sally like in the show? Great. She's just your best friend. Quiet. on the creek. Shh. Isn't that supposed to be a secret for the show?
Starting point is 00:14:14 I think that's a secret. Okay, that's a secret for the show. Sorry, bleep it, but keep the, because that was funny. I think going back and, like, looking back at the beginning of filming, and it felt like I was always, like, in defense mode because, like, I'm so used to having full control over, like, my content and what I put out. And that's just, like, how I've always done things. I don't even have anyone that helps me with, like, my socials.
Starting point is 00:14:37 like I just like to do it all myself. And so I think like stepping into something else where I'm like, oh my gosh, like they have full control over all this stuff. And I'm like putting so much trust and intimate moments of my life like in the hands of other people felt so scary. So I felt like I was always like on defense in the beginning. And then I feel like you just have to kind of like trust the process and let go. And like that was something that happened with the Alex Cooper stuff is like in the beginning. They were like, we want to talk about this like whatever. And I was like, I told production, I was like, I'm not talking about this.
Starting point is 00:15:07 at all. First of all, it's irrelevant. That was like a year or two ago at this point. And I was just like, I'm not talking about it. I don't want to. Like, there's no point in bringing this up. And then after Coachella, when everything like unfolded, it just like happened to be a part of the moment of when we were filming. So I was like, I'm just going to like go for it and lean into it. And I did. But I think like, I don't know. That's like also something that stresses me out a lot that I'm like, I don't even want to deal with it. And like, I don't even care. I think it's just like that is a tough moment. I'm happy like we captured and we're able to like get the behind the scenes of all the feelings and stuff, but it's like... It's over. Jake, you're in the show, right? I'm in the show.
Starting point is 00:15:46 I'm in the show with the Russian, Russian Center. Russian Center. That was crazy. Yeah, it just like got complicated. Was complicated, got more complicated. It wasn't like, just wasn't a good working relationship. I could put out new episodes, but they were still under unwell, so they were still, like, getting the monetization from that. And she couldn't, like, own her own episodes. And I couldn't own it myself, and they were in no rush really to hand it back to me because they wanted me to, like, sign a, like, release agreement with,
Starting point is 00:16:23 had an NDA, so we were working that out. And it was just, like, a little complicated of how we parted. So that's why I said, I was like, I'm not going to say anything. I'm not going to say that they'd, drop me. I'm just going to like keep my mouth quiet and I just said I'm going to start vlogging. Like for right now, it was basically like a strike for my podcast. I was like until we figure out how to do this and like I don't want to keep putting out episodes for you guys even though the public thinks I'm not with you, which was like so confusing at the time. I was like, I'll just
Starting point is 00:16:53 basically go on strike and like do vlogs. So I made a post and was like, I'm going to put my podcast on pause. I'm going to do vlogs and all the comments went crazy of like Alex must have not giving you something back, like yada, yada, yada. Matt texted me and was like, said something rude. And then, and then Alex went on TikTok and was like, this is a lie. Alex Earl owns all her whatever. I know. It was a story.
Starting point is 00:17:18 All the rights to her thing. And then the next morning, they miraculously, like, handed everything back to me. And he had emailed me being like, we were trying to give this to you for weeks. And it was like, okay. So. But honestly, your vlogs are so much better. Yeah, I honestly hated the podcast. Remember when I had to do it with you?
Starting point is 00:17:39 That was so bad. But it was like, I don't think it just like I got into it from like just not the right. Like I, you don't feel this way from your podcast. I felt drained. After like six months, I was like, oh my God, like, I feel like I'm exploiting every part of my life and like a way I don't want to. And like even. Just to try to get like a good story.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Other people and other things just to have like a good story. And like I was like, I don't know like another like part. of my life I can share that like I felt like empty like is the only way I can explain I was like I feel like I'm just like exposing myself to like get some views on this and that was not like what I wanted and then I also didn't really want to interview people and I like suck at that so I was like that's not an option and then I was like Ashton you're gonna podcast with me and I did like talking and connecting with people and like when I did get to share like the vulnerable moments in my life I loved it but it just like started from such like I just had the wrong mindset with it like even going into it um Alex was like, don't get a boyfriend, Brixen. She was like, don't date him because, like, it's going to be more entertaining to be single. And, like, podcast. So you could talk about your dating life and your sex life. And I was like, I don't want to talk about that online.
Starting point is 00:18:49 So, like, dating, sure, but sex, no. And I just think I, like, was taught maybe, like, not the best habits for it. And, like, it just was, like, wasn't a well-oiled machine in the beginning. There was just like a lot of a lot of things. Well, I just remember you came to do my show for the first time. And you saw Nolan and you said, who is that? And I said, well, Alex, that's my podcast producer. I said, I don't have one of those.
Starting point is 00:19:18 I said, what do you mean you don't have one of those? You said, what do you mean? Like when I did Alex's podcast, she was like, we're like literally like on the ground, like screwing things there. Her suitcase with her cameras and microphones. She literally would like carry three microphones or cameras in the suitcase. I don't know. I was giving them 50% to just hand me the cameras and do it.
Starting point is 00:19:41 So I thought what I was doing. Even the setup I had in my room, I had to like set up all the cameras in my college bedroom. Yeah. I remember I went to Europe and I was there with like, I think it was like Josh Richards and Gabby. And I was like showing them like how I was lugging around this suitcase for my cameras. And they were like, what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:19:58 I was like, really? Like, you don't do this? I'm so confused. Because does bar stool? give Josh, like, do they like... They have a studio. They have a studio. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:08 I'm tired of beating the goddamn dead horse. Like, I would like to move on. Let's move on. Let's move on. To be cheers to moving on. Yeah. Cheers to moving on. Cheers to moving on.
Starting point is 00:20:24 You have a crush. I'm having a little crush. And I really like it. I like it too. I've never met them. I like it too. And it makes me sick to my stomach. Really?
Starting point is 00:20:33 What does it feel like to have a crush? Like, I'm having anxiety because I feel like I'm having a real crush. And I don't. Why does that give you anxiety? Because that's scary. Because of... I like to be alone. Really?
Starting point is 00:20:48 Mm-hmm. It's just easier that way. Why do you find that to be easier? Because, like, then you can't get your feelings hurt. Like, I get, like, anxious. So it's a defense thing? Yeah, of course. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:58 I understand that. You know, you get anxious. Like, what if... I don't know. something happens and then I'm upset. Can I say how I view that? Like, I'm like, oh, great, I can relate to more sad music. True.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Do you know? I, because you know, I was never like, you were never a big, Swiftie. Okay, no. Or just sad music in general. Like, I was like, turn it the fuck off. Like, I don't want to feel this way. Oh, it's what yell at me every single day.
Starting point is 00:21:22 All this sudden now, it's like, if you go to my recently played, it's just like all the most depressing music you could find. And, like, it was like Sianna Spiro. I'm like, oh. It was like Sienna Spiro. Pure. I love putting in my headphones, looking out the window, pretending like I'm in a movie. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:21:38 Isn't it the best? Yes. And I'm like, I feel sick to my stomach. Like sad music makes me feel, have you heard the new, well, girl, we got to get you there. Have you heard the new Phoebe Bridgers album? No. I've heard clips of it. Of the one song.
Starting point is 00:21:52 My God. She's not ready for that. I don't know if she's ready for that. She might be. Cheers to that. There was a point this year where I was on all too well 10 minute version. Oh. That was a dark time for you.
Starting point is 00:22:04 That was really bad. You had a dark time. Oh, and you know what's another thing about this show? That may have been like, I don't want to say like the darkest period of my life. Because that's a little dramatic. But like that was the most like not like myself that I felt. And to the point where when we filmed and then we took like a month break or so
Starting point is 00:22:24 and then I came back and I filmed more like confessional stuff, the producers were like, huh? They were like, I've never seen you like this. Like I've never seen you like. so funny and giggly and whatever like I'm telling you like I was like a sad mean angry little witch while we were filming like I was I was so stressed out I didn't want to go out I didn't want to go out I didn't like anything like I just wasn't happy and so yeah great that we had cameras up we also like started filming in January and I remember the producers called me before we started filming
Starting point is 00:22:56 and they were like so like tell me about what's going on in your personal life and I was like I haven't like left the house in weeks like I don't Well, don't like people, like, not want to watch. It's okay. No, the show is amazing. First of all, and my favorite episode, besides the one that I'm in, because that one's a great one,
Starting point is 00:23:15 is episode eight. Yeah, episode eight is, I think I like episode seven. The final scene of episode eight, the entire room, when we were watching it, got up and screamed. Oh, I'm so excited. It was just cinema.
Starting point is 00:23:30 I can't even watch. It was just cinema. It's also like, You know what's crazy about it is like, I'm watching it. And I'm like, holy fuck, like I'm so stressed out for her. Like that was like, like, there were so many moments during the show that I was like, I literally like don't want to be doing this in front of the cameras right now. But like I'm just going to like pull the trigger and do it.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Like that was so fucking scary. Like that was that was literally like you can see me like looking at the ceiling while I'm talking. Like I was so nervous. Oh my God. And the scene in episode seven too. Like there was sometimes where I'm just like. What's your name? episode seven um between me
Starting point is 00:24:05 my mom and my sister like oh god just like there was some times where it was like I was like we just got to rip the band-aid off and go here but like there was times where production was like we'll step out of the house and we'll just give you guys some yeah after that they were like okay we're gonna give you guys a minute I was like yeah well that was intense I mean I know you to be hysterical but I thought this show
Starting point is 00:24:26 showed you to be really funny what Alex you know I think you're hysterical I don't think I smiled once the whole show Yeah, but like that's... Tell me throughout the season when you saw a smile on my face. No, yeah, you can't name one moment. I smiled during the show.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Wait, you do smile a few times. What about like when we were... You smile when you're with your sisters and your younger brother. But like, I just don't think I was really myself, so I would like a second chance. Well, I actually think it was interesting the way you shift throughout the season
Starting point is 00:24:55 because you started filming in January and you finished filming in what, May or June? Yeah, like May. That was a crazy period. of growth in your career in general. So, like, you can see that, and it's fascinating to watch. No, I'm happy we have it captured. I would just, like, well, now I don't care.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Like, I also feel like I was so stressed out about the concept of a show in the beginning. And, like, I said, like, letting go of that control. And now I think I've, like, seen it. I've seen how it comes together. I understand it. Like, I just understand how it works a little more. You know, like, there were times where it's, like, okay, like, you know, like, you guys really have to talk about this.
Starting point is 00:25:35 And I'm like, I don't want to fucking talk about it. Like, we usually just sweep things under the rug in this household. Like, I don't want to talk about it. So in the moment, it felt really hard. But now I see, like, the beautiful thing and how it has all come together. So I like it a lot more now. Like, I like the process more now. I just was confused in the beginning.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Like, you've got the basis out of the way. Like, that was, like, difficult at times. There's a Ryan Beattie lyric. Do you listen to Ryan Beatty? No. You would love him. and it says, what about me?
Starting point is 00:26:03 What? You would like that. You would like him. It's very sad. That's the saddest it gets. Oh, okay. He says, letting go of what you hold holds you just the same.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Okay, so let me break it down for you. This is the second time I've done this. So I'm holding on to this, let's say I'm holding on to this like version of myself that I'm protecting and these things that I'm holding back. once I let go of that and trust fall it'll hold you the same way that you are holding what you were grasping on so strongly to begin with
Starting point is 00:26:41 why though? Because it's about not needing something to hold on to like letting go of what you hold holds you just the same because at the end of the day like you're still going to be alive and breathing in your body no matter the situation like the circumstances might change so like no matter what changes around you like you can still control the way like you take care of yourself. I don't know. That's how I hear it. I feel like it's kind of like trusting the process. Alex is like, no. It's about trusting the process. Yes. And I feel like holding onto your past like just holds you back in a way. That. That's it.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Like letting go of what you, letting go of what you hold told you just the same. Like don't be worried that letting go of something that you think has kept you safe, you'll no longer be safe. This thing that you're letting go of that you think is keeping you safe, you'll still be safe. Yes. I love it. I love it. Have you ever been like, I want a soda that's sour, but also sweet? Yeah, I bet you have.
Starting point is 00:27:49 And you know who heard that request? Poppy. With only five grams of sugar, Poppy's sour apple is quite simply one of the best sodas I've ever had in my entire life. If you know me, you know I love sour more than anything in the entire world. And sour can only last so long. You do need a kick of sweet in order to fully round out the experience. And Poppy's sour apple does just that.
Starting point is 00:28:12 It's refreshing. It's sour. It's sweet. And it's perfect for any season. I really do commend Poppy with how they've completely rebranded the soda industry. It's insane. It's insane what they've done. I always talk about this, but like literally a few years ago, like I would go.
Starting point is 00:28:28 going to bodegas in New York and I literally couldn't find poppies anywhere. Like I couldn't find them on Uber Eats. I couldn't find them on Postmates. I couldn't find them anywhere. And now Poppy is everywhere because it is that good. They continue to raise the bar every time and sour apple is no different. It is actually one of the best things I've ever had in my entire life. Like a sour soda, my dream.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Soda's back, but so much better. Poppy, sour apple. Get it in your local store or on Amazon today. But are you happy overall with the show and how it came out? Yeah, yeah. I think, like, I'm also happy all the episodes are dropping out once. Yeah. So you can get the, like, more well-rounded version than just, like, one episode at a time, I think, which stressed me out a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:29:14 So I'm excited. Yeah, I like that. It's all coming out. I watch the end of day. Also, I'm really excited. Like, I truly am for people to see, like, our family dynamic is definitely not normal. And I think, like, we're very comfortable with each other. but there's also still like a lot of problems that we have and stuff we need to work through.
Starting point is 00:29:29 And I think like if I was younger going through this divorce again with my parents, like, I would have loved to see something like this and be like, wow, like there is either hope of where we can get to or you can find like just something to relate to and like, okay, wow, like they still like fight like this. And like, I don't know. Like I just, I think it would have been comforting to me. So I think that makes me feel really like secure and putting it out, even though I know it's going to be like, whatever people are going to say, but I know that, like, I would have liked it if I was younger. I think that's what kind of made the Kardashian so big was that, like, people saw, like, people were like, oh, I guess it's, like, normal to scream and fight with your family like this.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Because, like, I remember, I remember when I was growing up, like, my mom and daughter could kill me, but, like, we would scream, scream, scream, scream, and fight at each other all the time. And I lived in, like, this very suburban neighborhood where all these families were, like, having dinner together every single night. We didn't do that. Like, we don't have, we didn't have dinners together every single night. Like, it wasn't just, like, the normal family experience. So I think being able to watch something from someone that people look up to or want to be like
Starting point is 00:30:38 and have it not be a normal family experience is, like, reassuring. I think it's a beautiful way to look at it. And my mom is, like, dating and Todd and, like, I don't know. It's just, I love it. And I think, like, the little kids really do just bring such, like, levity to it all. Like, I love that, like, Penelope. Thank God.
Starting point is 00:30:57 They are seriously stars. They're stars. Wait, who's your favorite character in the show? Alyssa. Honestly, yeah. I texted you. I texted you. I texted you and I said,
Starting point is 00:31:08 Alyssa, that's my girl. Yeah. She's my girl. She's just like, I don't know. She carries, she goes through life. She carries herself with such grace.
Starting point is 00:31:17 She carries herself well. She's like funny, but like she doesn't try to be. She just is. You can always tell when a person has a lot of love. And they're not putting it on for the camera and that's just kind of who they are. And that's your mom to me. And I also just like personally love your mom a lot.
Starting point is 00:31:31 Oh, she's the best. She'll be so happy to hear that. I love you. Alyssa, I love you. She likes all my Instagram stories. Oh, she does that with everyone. Okay, well, she likes mine a lot. Yeah, she makes me feel special.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Even like people that I'm like, mom, you can't. Like she's like liked comments before even like about like. Oh my God, I remember that. She likes everything. She liked comments that were mean about Ashley. And she was liking them. I'm like, mom, you can't do this. like this is public that people can see you're liking this.
Starting point is 00:31:56 And she was like, I didn't know. And I'm like, stop. Like she gets crazy with the double tab. She still likes all of Braxton's posts. Does she really? She still texts my ex-boyfriend from high school. She's like, she has too much love to give. Can I say that that?
Starting point is 00:32:12 She's filled with love. And we love that about her. Are you nervous for Braxton to see the show? No. You just don't care. We had conversations like about everything that, like he knows everything that's in it. because I told him, he knows everything that's in it. So, whatever.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Nothing was malicious. It was your life. No. I said to him, I said, this is basically a brochure to date you. I said, you're a fucking welcome. I was like, okay. I mean, you do miss him a lot in the show. Right.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Anyway, how's your love life? Mine? Fine. Like, you know it's not good. It's not, not good. I've actually been focusing more on my friends. Good. I've been focusing more on my friends.
Starting point is 00:32:54 friends. I'm like whatever. Like lovers will come. Lovers will go. Do you have a lover right now, Jake? No, like no one. What are you talking? What are you laughing about? She asked me. No, she didn't. Okay. How's your love life, Alex? No, I've been talking to my life. No, no, no, how was your love life? No, how's your love life? Please, how's your love life? How's your love life? How's your love life? How's your love life? Good. I just like, I don't like have a love. I'm just like, I'm not like talking to anyone, but I'm like,
Starting point is 00:33:39 talking to at least people. She's talking to multiple people. Like, there was a second there where I was like, this is getting scary. Right. But now at least there's like, I've been like, whoa, okay, there's humans out there. Right. But like, it's kind of fun to not be like, I don't know, I'm so. so picky and not like needing to have a boyfriend.
Starting point is 00:34:03 So it's just like I actually think by like going out and like going on dates, it's so easy to write people off is what I think. Like I don't know. I'm so picky with stuff that like I can go out to dinner with a guy and be like he did like three things I don't like. Yeah. I don't need to talk to him anymore. I mean, but in your defense that one date you went on was the worst thing I've ever heard in my entire life. Well, that was like, that was out of the show. What did he do again?
Starting point is 00:34:26 He brought you to Starbucks? No, and he didn't have a plan for seven hours, so I got car sick, and then we drove around in circles, and then he asked me after seven hours of talking if I did Onlyfans. And I was like, okay, I guess you're not listening. Which also is Alex's worst nightmare, just like driving aimlessly, like listening to music down the beach. Her worst nightmare. Because for five hours, first of all, is not like, I would like it with someone I liked, but he kept saying to me, I don't know what else to ask you. I was like, okay. Also, like, we're the type of person where it's like, we're very similar in the sense that like, like, the other day, even at dinner where it's like, everyone was like, why are you paying the check now?
Starting point is 00:35:06 And you're like, no, I like that this happens. We just like, like, you like, you like, also, that's my main attraction and a guy is a doer. Like, someone who can like just do it. Like, just get things done. I know. And so he was not, he was an undoer. He was not doing anything. What was every?
Starting point is 00:35:27 Everyone's favorite weekend of the summer. I mean, it has to be when we were in Monaco. Yeah, it was the best time of my life. Like, that was the best trip ever. I saw you open up in a way that I hadn't seen since the breakup. What do you mean? Like, you were solemn for a few months. You were sad.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Oh, yeah. And we, you talked about it with Stoss, but we went on that trip. We didn't bring a single plus one. It was you, me, Stoss, and Stella. And it wasn't even about, like, guys like there weren't like that wasn't the focus of it the focus of it was like i like we're like conquering we're having fun like we're doing whatever and i think with that then the guys followed i think honestly no offense to you no that's fine but i think like sauce really you guys becoming friends was
Starting point is 00:36:18 really really good for you i completely a thousand hundred percent agree changed like you guys are such a dynamic duo and it makes me so happy seeing you guys together And I feel like she really, like, helped you out of your, like, weird phase year and for so long. Well, because she doesn't let you. She's so sweet. I love her. She doesn't let you be in that weird face. Like, I remember when I got to Monica, I was in my brace.
Starting point is 00:36:41 And I was so upset about it. And she said, bitch, I went to the white party in a boot. And I said, okay, I guess. Yeah. And then I was like, and she goes. You're a fucking brace. Yeah. Like, she was like, she just doesn't.
Starting point is 00:36:54 She's like. She's also like your type A boyfriend. because she handles everything and like always has a plan and always figures everything out. She's like a good mother. She's a good mother. She really brought it out of you in a really, really, really awesome way. And then when I left you guys, then, uh, I was like, they're about to embark on the most beautiful summer of their lives. And they did. Yeah, we had so much fun. That was my favorite couple. I think like meeting new friends this summer was a really big thing for me. Me too. Yeah. I meant a lot of new people. I was in like Paris, alone for two weeks.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Yeah, how was that? It was really fun. It was scary. I didn't, like, have friends. I met, like, Max. I met my new friend, Emily. But we, this was the summer of, like, making new friends. And I think sometimes it's, you and I, I think, specifically, relied on our friends from
Starting point is 00:37:48 college and then each other. Well, I always felt so, because I'd like to keep my circle close and small. And like, once I have my friends, I'm like, I don't need to, like, go make new friends. But I think, like, I got too trapped in the mindset of feeling so comfortable that, like, I wasn't branching out. And I became, like, a little antisocial, which you wouldn't think that I'm antisocial. But, like, you know what it is, too is we're still so young. And I don't know why I got in a mindset of, like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Like, we are settled in our ways or we're so, like, adults now and, like, everything. And I'm like, oh, my gosh, we're so much life yet to live. And, like, we can still make new friends. friends and meet new people and go out with new groups and like nothing has to be set in its ways and I think that's beautiful. I think one part of the show that honestly really struck a chord with me was when you were talking to your dad about like you were like I'm 25 and I feel all like you've done all these incredible things but you I'm pretty sure you said you're like you're like I don't feel it you know what I mean like you're I think tell me if I'm wrong but you were feeling like the
Starting point is 00:38:53 typical post grad is like you live in a city and you still stay there and you make all these friends and you meet all these people and like you're traveling all the time and it was hard but I think this summer you embrace that being a part of your life and once you embrace that being a part of your life and being like you're with me or like you can follow me and you can come with me and whoever comes into my life and come into my life once you embrace that if that am I making sense no I feel like you really like lived for yourself this summer and I feel like your whole career you've kind of lived for what you're doing and like you're being a little selfish and not caring about.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Yeah, but I'm still like all my friends. Oh, no, of course. No, I'm not saying about your friends. No, like, I'm not saying about your friends. I'm saying about like, you're a phenomenal friend. You're both amazing friends. You're a great friend too. You are the best.
Starting point is 00:39:41 I always say that about you. I'm like, you are such like a loyal friend and it's so hard to find. And I can't believe I found you so early on. It was fate. I mean, it was really fake because I'll never ever forget it. we were in Alex's bathroom in L.A., and she looked at me a year and a half ago and goes, bitch, you need to grow thicker skin. She goes, if you actually want to do this, like, I can't hear about this anymore.
Starting point is 00:40:06 And it wasn't in like a, like, in an angry way. You need someone that can, like, tell you about like that. She was like, you need to grow thicker skin. Right. I mean, at some point, you need to just, like, let go of what everyone is going to have an opinion on something. And that's, like, what we're here for. Right.
Starting point is 00:40:21 You can't make everyone happy. but also if no one has an opinion on you are you doing your job, right? Right, I guess not. Exactly. Yeah. And it's like even like, people have an opinion on everything.
Starting point is 00:40:35 You made a new friend and the, I mean, the discourse online about you making a new friend was insane. I know. And as someone who was there to witness the new friendship be made, it was just, it couldn't have been further from the truth. Like, yeah, I know. That's stoss is humor. That's what makes Stoss Stoss.
Starting point is 00:40:51 It's like her witty little, like that's what. I also just don't get the thing when people are like, you guys are mean to each other or like with any friend though. I'm like, do you like, don't trust her? No, it's very strange. Like, I feel like you're not friends with someone if you can't like fuck around with them. When I talk to Peyton, she's like screaming at me. And I'm like laughing and it's like that's my best friend.
Starting point is 00:41:12 Because that's what friendship is. Is that not what friendship is? No, it is. That's why me and Alex are like the closest. I think you're just like explaining it like a little aggressively. Oh, the horoscopes! Let's read our horoscopes. Like, Kostar?
Starting point is 00:41:29 Yeah. Yes. Well, you don't have Koster. I have this app called... Do you guys know yesterday it told me, like, it's okay to love multiple people at once? And I was like... Hell fucking yeah. I'll go first.
Starting point is 00:41:39 And I honestly, I've been using this app that I think that you guys might like more than Kostar. Because sometimes I feel like Koster. No, come on, guys. It's called Chani, but it's really, really good. How do you spell that? C-H-A-N-S-E. I. Okay, ready? You guys, this is why I'm telling you this app's the best.
Starting point is 00:41:59 You seem to have a take on every topic. And your words carry extra weight today. So by all means, use them. Just don't forget to follow through. Translate all that talk into practical action. The smaller and more sustainable, the better. Your big ideas hit even harder when you act on them. And I'm like, you know, I've been talking about stuff that I've been working on.
Starting point is 00:42:21 And they, like, seem small. But they become big once you're you. you take action on them. Take that action. I love it. I will. What's yours? Or who wants to go next?
Starting point is 00:42:28 I'll go. Okay. Desire creates the future. Stop waiting for conditions to be perfect before you make your move. The thing you've been putting off can actually be started today with whatever resources you have right now. Motion creates momentum. Do eye on the prize, full stops, see it through. Don't.
Starting point is 00:42:46 Cold War. Fisty cuffs and downplaying. Is that telling me my bracelets are ugly? No. That's telling you as someone who's now watched the show that I think you should really pursue modeling. I think so too.
Starting point is 00:43:03 And there was something today happened and she was like nervous about it and I was like I think you should do it. I mean like you're telling you like you're waiting for the condition the perfect show or the perfect this or the perfect that if you just fucking do it. That's all that matters.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Right, I'm going to do it. Do it. Okay. You can be the warm light that pours over everyone. you love. Your natural warmth that draws people close, but not everyone who basks in your glow will return favor when you need it. Stop performing happiness
Starting point is 00:43:31 for those who disappear when you're having a rough day. Do big tips, soft focus, hydration, don't overstaying opportunism, name drop. Well, damn. Fuck. No, I don't... Okay, so cut the whole episode.
Starting point is 00:43:52 We didn't... didn't name drop. No. We definitely did. We talked shit. I don't think that's name dropping. We definitely You could have named dropped a lot more than you have. Okay. So I've been good. You've been great. Oh, I really like that for you. Yeah, that was beautiful. There's always going to be people like that that like bask in your, the glow that you create. And they will leave you on a moment's notice. And that's why for a while we were like, no new friends, no new friends. So we always said, we always say no new friends. But now we're like making new friends, but like with a caution. Yeah. I think it's all about learning how to make new, I think, okay, I think, you know what? You.
Starting point is 00:44:29 No. You. I was going to say you can, I think something I struggled with and I've learned from my mistakes is when I meet people, I tell them every single detail of my life and I tell them everything and I like open up a million percent. Like I've realized now you can like meet people without like, exploiting every single thing in your life. Like I've got to stop doing that. No, but you can have so. I just loved, like, when I meet someone, I'm like, I want to tell you everything. But also, like, I think we're accustomed to the college way of making friends, because we all went to college.
Starting point is 00:45:01 And we, making friends in college is very much like, we went out this weekend, we've spent the whole week together, we have class together, we're best friends. That's not how it works in the real world. You have to, like, hang out with, like, purpose. Like, you have to, like, be, you have to, like, purposefully make plans with people. and the people that kind of just like are suddenly there all the time maybe aren't the best people. Like you both have, is what I'm saying making sense.
Starting point is 00:45:32 Oh, you know what I'm really realizing right now? How lucky I am to have you guys. I'm so lucky to have you guys. I really am. Like, I really feel that way. Like, I don't know what I would do without you guys.
Starting point is 00:45:43 I really don't. I don't know what I would do without you. I mean, you too, but like, I can't get rid of you. that I'm like, I don't know who's in the world is going to relate to this besides you. No, seriously. I'm like, there's no one else I can speak to right now. No.
Starting point is 00:45:58 We have had like a very similar career upcoming trajectory and like I think like it's so nice to have you by my side and just but beyond that as like a friend in general. Like you just, I don't know. Honestly, you make me feel better because you're always stressed out about something. I know. I know. But I'm, but like when when I. like go through something. You're right.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Like we came up kind of at a similar times and we're doing different things but our the audience we're presenting to are very similar. So there's no one else in this world that I can call and be like, how do you deal with this? Because the only person that knows how to deal
Starting point is 00:46:37 with this is her. Jake. It's true. It's how I feel. I'm like I need to call Alex. She's the only person who will understand. I love you. I love you more and I love you.
Starting point is 00:46:48 I love you. hit you. Bitch. Sorry. Well, what do you guys therapist about today? I'm there pissed about Alex taking that seat
Starting point is 00:46:58 because she wanted her good side on camera and now my bad side is facing the camera. Okay, but like every time we do something, you always... Is it every time? Every time we take a picture,
Starting point is 00:47:06 every time we do anything, she needs the goods. You're the same good side. No, you're beautiful on both. No. And that's what pisses me off. I think you're more beautiful, which is why I offer you the other side.
Starting point is 00:47:15 Alex. I'm not kidding. That is truth. I don't think. she has a bad side like I have a bad side. You don't have a bad side. My bad side is like, no, no, no. I look like a gremlin. No. I, I truly see so much beauty and you, which is why I allow you to have both sides. I'm therapist. I swear, I swear, okay, well, what are you therapists about? I was therapist about the shirt, but I don't want to like also. I like your shirt. Yeah, you look
Starting point is 00:47:45 really cute. What is that shirt? Really, I feel like I look like I'm from that 70 show. Oh, I'm there are pissed that you both are like being weird about coming out tonight. Wait, when did I ever say I wasn't going out tonight? Today. I said, are you coming out tonight? You said, I don't know. When? Right when you walked in? I probably wasn't listening. Do you want to come out tonight? Yes. Let's go out. I have to go to Germany tomorrow. Like, please, my flight's at 3 p.m. I can black out until the world. Okay, well, I have a birthday party with Sally, but maybe we'll meet you after. What about Alex? Right, the both of them are invited and not me. I think if she knew you were in, you. York you would be invited. I think she only texted me and Sally because she knows we live here.
Starting point is 00:48:23 I'm therapist about that. Okay. This is a theme with you. What? That you're never invited to the stuff that you're never around. But it's the thought that counts. Right. So here's something that you also don't live in the show that you don't know. I cannot talk about this. I cannot talk about it. Me, I'm in New York staying at her apartment. She doesn't think to be like, oh me and Sally are going to this thing tonight come. She's just like, we're going. You're never here. So like they didn't think to invite you. Yeah, but like, you know I'm here. So I'm here. So I'm. invite me. It's not my birthday. I'm friends with her. Should I say
Starting point is 00:48:53 Alex is here? Can she come? I don't want to go. This is what I mean. I knew you wouldn't want to go either. What am I there pissed about? Maddie, do you know? God, I love Maddie. When Maddie entered, when Maddie entered your life, things shifted in a very, very good way. Yes, Maddie, you are an un-y, Maddie, you are an unsung hero.
Starting point is 00:49:16 Like, if I need to, if I need to, if I need to, help with something like I go I go to Maddie. Wait and do you know what's the best about Maddie is like she always is like it's just like fun because we're like you know like the same age and girls but like she always is like whenever I tell her anything about a guy she's like go do it like she like encourages
Starting point is 00:49:33 like the worst behavior in the best way but like it's so fun. How was the white party this year? So much fun. Like honestly I had the best night ever and that was the night I was again being like often very social and like making new friends with people and it was it's just such a long party you know it starts at five and then it goes
Starting point is 00:49:55 until five in the morning so like it's there's like a lot of room for error um and it's it's so fun though that was like what started my summer i think i was like really in a dark place you were i always am but then Alex and Stas called me and they're like get i told her i'm gonna get you out of your depression and then I saw the person that she wanted to talk to and I flung my no even before that though I remember I got ready let me tell you how I got ready for that party and I was like wait I've never looked better and I felt amazing no let me tell you Ashton I was like there's that guy go talk to him and she's like no and I said okay I will make myself look like a lunatic because I don't need this guy to like me I need him to like you so I'm going to look like a lunatic and then what's going to happen here is you're
Starting point is 00:50:38 going to swoop in and be like the cool put together like sexy mature and you're going to talk to him. So I'm like, let's go. Like, let's go drink. Whatever, like getting this guy and I'm like talking his ear off. And then the second that there was like someone was like, Alex, can I talk to you? I like tapped her and I was like, get in there. Like go like now.
Starting point is 00:50:55 So like I lured him to the bar with the three of us, but she wouldn't speak for the first like 30 minutes. So I was just rambling about God knows what. And then the second I got an out, I like tapped her and I was like perfect. I'm leaving the bar to go talk to someone. You get in there. And now them separated in two months. You're welcome. You really haven't.
Starting point is 00:51:13 Like, we haven't. I've never, like, met someone and, like, just hung out with them every single day. I, for as long as I've known you, I haven't seen it. I don't like anyone. The cutest thing ever. But can you admit that it? Every time I have a crush on someone, you make it happen because I can't do it myself. I'm a really good wing woman for her.
Starting point is 00:51:31 Or is anyone in general. I'm, like, really good at, like, hating men and not liking them. But if it's, like, I actually potentially have a crush on someone, I, like, can't speak. You know what it is about you? when I've always said this about you. Yeah, okay, go first. What? I'm gonna say where did we go the one night in L.A.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Where she really wanted to see this person. So we made our, I didn't want to go out this night. It made us go to this party. It made us get dressed up. I made us get into the party. Then I found the person that was talking to the person she wanted to talk to. So then she could talk and she blew it.
Starting point is 00:52:02 Like, just completely blew it. She was a freak. Oh, I remember this. I remember this. I hadn't spoken to a boy at like. Like, it was. Oh, my God. And I was so, I was supposed to come with you guys that night.
Starting point is 00:52:14 Yeah. Oh my God. Yeah. And I was so bad. And I don't mean to call my sister a freak, but like she's seriously like, I can be a freak sometimes. I've never seen like a situation go down more poorly than this in my entire life. Like, she really just like, she made this guy get up and like actually be like, I'm going to go take a lap. What did you say to him again? I started like rambling, but I was like stuttering.
Starting point is 00:52:34 Oh my God. It was like out of a movie. No. And then I was like. She told it one, unfunny story. Two, unnecessary long. Three. Like it made no sense.
Starting point is 00:52:44 There was no plot to the story. But you also, I love going out with you guys so much. It's because I feel so confident because you guys enter the room with such confidence. It's like wherever we go, it's like, yeah, you like, you lead the room. You enter the night with such, like, I will do whatever the fuck I want. I don't care. What the fuck anyone in this room says about me? And it, what's the word?
Starting point is 00:53:12 Creates like an aura Yeah, creates an aura Except I don't really think I feel that way I feel like you do sometimes When you have like a drink or two And you're like going out Well yeah
Starting point is 00:53:21 If I had a drink like there's like Alex's like shoulders back Tits up It's the best thing on planet Earth I literally feel like a superstar Yeah Walking behind her like this And she like is walking with like
Starting point is 00:53:30 Her back arched And just like scanning the room She's like in diva mode It's great There's some nights that like I can turn it on It's the best thing Please turn it on tonight Again
Starting point is 00:53:39 I know where I think we should out tonight? Ladive? Ladive and then? Shea. I'm trying to get, tell me what's wrong. You know.
Starting point is 00:53:55 Why did I not know they came in like a printout letter? I think it's changed. Not much therapist? I do. No, she doesn't. This year, I've decided to take a gap year before going to
Starting point is 00:54:09 university because I don't know what I want to do with my life. None of my other friends are doing this and I'm sort of alone. Is this a good idea? And also, what would be some good things to do during this time? I don't want to waste it and I want to use it to learn something new maybe. I think it's a great idea. It's a great idea. You know who took a gap year and had a wonderful time doing so and still had a great college experience, Estella?
Starting point is 00:54:30 Really? Yeah. Her and Elliot graduated one year apart from each other, but they're the same age because Stella took a gap year. And she was like, it was great. I had a great time. I mean, yeah, what I would say is, like, I feel like that point of your life, life is like about maturing and finding yourself and like you go to college and I think you really come out on the other side like everyone kind of goes down like I feel like you go in everyone kind of seems
Starting point is 00:54:51 like similar same like you like the same things and you leave and everyone kind of like blossoms and goes on their own path and like if you want to take the time to like find out who you are during this stage like I don't think there's anything wrong with that no I think it's great also I think you could learn a new language you could learn a new like craft skill try some new hobbies I mean just try not to stay still, I think, is, like, the key to it, like, be doing shit. The only thing I would say is, like, I feel like when people do something or put it off, then they never go do it. Like, are you going to take a gap year and go?
Starting point is 00:55:24 You could also, like, maybe she's, like, maybe they're figuring out, like, where they want to go to school or, like, what they want to do. I think it's a great time. You can also, like, visit your friends and see, like, how they're doing. You could travel. You don't need to know what you want to do going into college. Like a lot of like getting into college for me was like very like I picked the major.
Starting point is 00:55:46 I applied with the major I thought would get me into the school. I went and undecided and then I found what I liked. Yeah, it's not necessarily what I wanted to do. Well, I was there. I was just like, okay, which one is going to get me into the school? I'm going to pick that one. Like you don't need to go into college knowing what you want to do. I had no idea what the fuck I wanted to do.
Starting point is 00:56:01 I thought I had no idea what I wanted to do. And then at the end of my sophomore year, I was like, okay, I think I want to, I got this job in music and I was like, I'm going to work in music. and then that became my entire personality trait, and then this happened. Just like light happens. And I think take the time to travel. You're never going to have a,
Starting point is 00:56:19 you are never going to have this year off ever again in your entire life. Ever. I remember when we were going to college, Sally couldn't get into Charleston unless she did like a semester abroad. And she was like in the moment, it felt like the biggest decision ever. And she was like, I can't do this, whatever. And I was like, just do it.
Starting point is 00:56:37 Like go. You're going to make so many amazing memories. You're going to meet so. many amazing people like just go do it and then go to like what is six months going to do you know like it seems like such a big deal in the moment but like it's going to go by so fast and she did it and she was like I can't imagine if I didn't do that yeah I think if you're able to going abroad is a really great experience oh I never got to do it well I didn't do it I loved it did you do it I love where'd you go again she loved it oh yeah I remember and even if you're you know taking a gap year you could
Starting point is 00:57:05 take a class and like even like a painting class or something or like learn the language of that country. Obviously, you know, if you're able to. But I loved it. And it was just so fun and it really got me out of my shell. I think it was really important for me as a person, especially because I was like more shy and awkward. I just went with like one friend and we kind of conquered.
Starting point is 00:57:25 It was great. You want to know my favorite college story of Alex's of all time when you visited her in Miami and you left your phone in her dorm so she could take you club in? Oh my God. So much trouble that one. What happened again? Because Alex was a freshman in college. So I was a junior in high school.
Starting point is 00:57:41 I was like 16, I think. And she was like, we're going to the bars. And dad was like, you guys are not going out. You know, like, whatever. So my dad had our location. So we were also going out at like 2 a.m. We weren't just like going out at like 10 p.m. We were leaving.
Starting point is 00:57:57 We left the dorm at 2 a.m. to go to the club. Yeah. And so I left my phone in Alex's dorm room. And I squeezed myself into like her sparkly high heels because my feet are two sizes bigger than her. and put on one of her mini dresses. And I was like, we're going to the club. We went to live. We were in the DJ booth.
Starting point is 00:58:17 That was literally like my residency. Anywho, I think dad found out that we went to the club. I don't know. The text I got from my dad, like at this point, which I was already in hot water because when I went home for the break, I took this guy back to my dad's house and he saw on the cameras. And like, it was already like really bad. and he sent a text that read me to filth.
Starting point is 00:58:43 Like, it was so mean because I promised my parents I wouldn't take her out and I did. But what else were you supposed to do? You're visiting her at college. We were going to sitting on a class? No. And. Like, at that point, like, what are you doing if you're visiting college? No, and that's why Alex is the best big sister ever.
Starting point is 00:58:58 And also, it was like we were safe. Like, we were in the most secured spot we could have been in the club. We were literally in the DJ. Like, we were like, yeah. The most secure, safe spot. At our own bar, like, we were fine. If I don't go out tonight, like, I will. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:15 Like, we're going to go out. Yeah. Every time I mentioned to my best friend how I think a guy is cute or start crushing. Soon after, I always see her texting or talking to him. These are the worst type of people. Sorry. This has been happening a lot when I confront her. She always tells me it's just text.
Starting point is 00:59:30 Oh, my God, I would literally freak the fuck out. I would literally freak the fuck out. That's not your friend. And he's the one texting slash talking to her. I don't want to make a huge thing about it, but I'm also like, what the fuck? your friend is very insecure. You could never trust your friend ever.
Starting point is 00:59:41 That's not a friend. I don't think that's your friend. No. That's not a friend. These, I'm sorry, might be like the worst type of human ever. Well, it's all, from what I've learned that's big. And the girls always have such an elaborate excuse too.
Starting point is 00:59:53 Like, we're like, we're just friends. I know. It's like, why are, and then they gaslight you. They're like, why are you feeling weird about it? Like, you're insecure. Like, you're weird. That's just my brother. That's just my.
Starting point is 01:00:02 Or the girls that are like, every time there's a guy and they have to make it known that like that guy wants to get with them. and you're like, oh, I've gotten with them. I think that's a narcissist. I think that's a narcissist. I think it's a mix of like insecurity and like narcissism. Yeah. Is narcissism based in insecurity?
Starting point is 01:00:20 Definitely. Or is it a disease? Narcissism is like a disease. Yeah, I think it's a disease too. I don't think it's based in insecurity. Because I used to think I was a narcissist. I think like you can get diagnosed a narcissist. You can?
Starting point is 01:00:33 Yes, you absolutely can. No empathy. It's like, like you, I met a real narcissists. the other week, like a real and true one, they live in like a genuine reality. Like it is like, it is, it's like we all live in the world. Like they live in a complete and separate world. Like they in their minds, like they don't think they are hurting you or hurting anyone. Like they don't think you're doing anything wrong.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Like they live in a separate world. It's a legitimate disease. No, but I think you can have narcissistic qualities. Right. Of course. But that's what people grow around the word and like use the word. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:10 But that, yeah, that's an insecure person. And that's not a real friend. Sorry. No, let's continue on. My best friend of five years has been in a long distance relationship the entire time I've known her. Coincidentally, I've never met her boyfriend. That's super weird.
Starting point is 01:01:25 We've worked together, graduated college together, gone on trips together, and I've never met him. When he's in town, they are always, quote, busy or, quote, not interested in what I invite them to. I've kind of gotten over it at this point, but every once in a while, it comes back up But my curiosity gets the best of me. I mean, at this point, I'd be like, is he real? Yeah, but also, like, yeah, that's a little crazy.
Starting point is 01:01:45 The biggest thing about dating a guy for me is I want all my friends to be best friends with me. Me too. Like, that is very important. Do you feel that way? I literally meet a guy, and I'm like, you need to meet my family right away. Yeah. Friends, like, there's times, like, this summer I'm literally out. I meet someone, and I'm like, FaceTiming my dad.
Starting point is 01:02:03 And I'm like, Dad, this is so-and-so. I mean, when you were with Brockson, he was friends with every single. a one of us. Yeah, that's how it should be. I would have felt comfortable calling him on my own. Like, imagine bringing a guy around your friends and he, like, doesn't want to hang out with your friends. I would be like, no.
Starting point is 01:02:17 But so what's this girl's problem? She's just like, I'm very weirded out. My best friend of five years. No, that's very weird. It's very weird. So what do we do about that? I feel like, do you say to her? Like, yeah, you have to just say, what's going on?
Starting point is 01:02:32 I think it's really weird that I haven't met your boyfriend. Oh, I don't think that's weird. And then, you know what I would do? I'd be like, is he real? I'd be like at this point Maybe like, have you seen a picture of him? Like with the AI of it all Like I don't believe that he is real
Starting point is 01:02:43 But like why lie? I'm serious Like that's where I would go With the AI of it all I'm serious I'd be like is this man real? Like you've been best times for five years We graduated college
Starting point is 01:02:56 He comes and visits in the same city Does he hate? Do you speak negatively about me? Do you hate me? Or is he not real? Yeah, we gotta get to the bottom of this. My sister is dating a total loser. He got a DUI spent the night in jail and legit has no money. She pays for all the rent. I'm
Starting point is 01:03:16 sorry, I can't call me old fashion. I can't do it. And he legit uses her as a sugar mama. She has this thing where she needs to take care of everyone. But how do I show her this guy as a leech? You can't. It's really hard. Okay, Alex, take the wheels. I just feel like you've got to let it have to course. They have to see it themselves. I've been in the position before where like I tried to fight with her about her boyfriend and all it did was like cause us to talk for a year and a half and like I would rather a year and a half you guys didn't speak for a year and a half like we spoke but like we weren't friends I didn't call her and like update her on my life like we didn't visit each other really and like I would so much rather like let her know that I'm there for her
Starting point is 01:03:56 if anything were to have gone wrong then like I don't know yeah you like want to like not have that hatred between your sisters so like we had a conversation one time and And I knew she could hear me because she was crying. But I was still like, fuck you. She, like, was saying, like, fuck you. But she was crying. So I knew that, like, I was getting through to her. But, like, I would say that approach more so than, like, don't fight with her.
Starting point is 01:04:18 You can kind of, like, I think there's a way to nicely tell someone, like, what you see without, like, being like, like, you need to break up with this person. Like, la, la, la, like, being aggressive. Like, I was aggressive. I think that's what we learned. You have to be nice about it and be like, I'm here for you. Because also, like, I've had friends where their boyfriends are, like, treating them like dog shit. And I'm like, you have to break up with him. You can't, like, force someone.
Starting point is 01:04:38 Like, make anyone to see it for themselves. Yeah, they have to, like, just finally come to terms with it. And, like, if you're too aggressive, then they won't feel safe to, like, confide in you. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like, if you're too, like, harsh about it, they're not going to want to be like, if I do actually feel away, they're not going to want to tell you. They're going to want to tell someone who's going to be like, it's okay.
Starting point is 01:04:56 They're going to, like, shut you out because it, like, they get defensive themselves. So then they're not going to tell you what's actually going on. So basically. You have to be nice and supportive. Yeah, and just... Maybe, like, drop some comments in a nice way, but, like... Try to give good sister advice. You just got to let it run this course.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Yeah. It's kind of just like... You can't force someone to break up with someone. It's that, like, super unfortunate feeling of, like, you, the only person in this life that you can control is yourself. Exactly. You literally cannot control anybody else. You can't control your mom.
Starting point is 01:05:27 You can't control your sister. You can control any of your best friend. You literally, you sometimes unfortunate situations happen that you can control anybody. cannot control and you have to come to terms with that. Yeah. And it's also like, I don't know, they're happy doing that. Also, that's not, I don't get it, but like, yeah. She's happy.
Starting point is 01:05:49 Well, girls, what did we learn today? Did I learn? I definitely did. I don't know if we learned anything today. I think we, I think we definitely, I think we talked a lot of shit. We talked. We talked. We talked.
