Your older brother went to Michigan State.
Yep.
You played at Michigan State a handful of times in your college career.
Yeah.
Can you confirm or deny?
Is it always overcast in Rainy in East Lansing Michigan?
Every single time I went to one of his games, I shit you not.
Not bad for a fat guy.
What up, Clubhouse is Benny Politsy and Joey Molinar on this week's TG.
Did they have their first guest on?
And was it Micah Hyde?
Maybe.
Did they talk about Tom Brady's midlife crisis?
No, they would never do that.
And did they talk about how Cam Scataboo probably got in a fight after every Friday night football game?
No, they don't talk about stuff like that.
Let's start the show.
T, T, TG, 1.95.
195 and feeling alive.
Okay.
Ah, ah, ah, right?
Got down at that.
You had a little boogie action on wedding over the week.
to a little love. Staying alive. Staying alive. Okay. Right. Yeah. 195. What's up, Clubhouse? Big show. Big show this
week, right? Whoa. Hey. Right. Right. Daddy's home. Daddy's on there. News is out. We've been talking for a long time. We've thrown in the
Discord, throwing it on Instagram. Should we? Shouldn't we? Shouldn't we? Should we? Should we? And we did it. We went. We got our first interview, first guest
for the show.
Micah Hyde.
Micah Hyde.
Formerly of the Green Bay Packers,
the Buffalo Bills,
12-year NFL vet.
He hops on,
and we had a lot of fun with them.
We did some AFC,
some NFC,
talking about his days of Iowa,
his days playing with Josh Allen,
favorite Jersey,
very club-housy interview.
And of course,
we got his beverage here,
hides Hail Mary,
that we talked about
in the interview that I've been drinking
the last couple weeks.
Dad juice, baby.
Hey, Micah,
We appreciate the time we do
And looking forward to you,
the listener here in that interview as well.
Yeah, good shit.
Hey, remember to grab your tickies for NYC
September 1st.
We're throwing down grammar C theater.
Wear your jerseys live show 200th episode.
We'll see you there.
Get your tickies below.
Bring your girlfriend who doesn't really like the podcast
but really likes you.
Hi, Pity.
You want to take a trip to New York City, Petty?
So take it, baby.
Get them below.
Let's pack it out.
We're going to the city.
Petty.
That's good.
That's our marketing for the rest of the time.
Petty, City.
See you there, babes.
Get your merch, get everything.
All the links below.
Where are your merch to the show.
We'll take pictures.
We'll do it all.
Hell yeah.
Dude, I got to, I got to start off.
I got to know your thoughts on this.
I've been waiting.
I've been dying to know your thoughts
on fanatics,
NFL soccer kits that they came out with.
Could go through the entirety,
just straight up, dripping or tripping.
Or you can pick out,
I don't know, you can look them up.
I got them up on my screen right now,
but I wanted to hear your thoughts.
I put it in the Discord.
pretty resounding dislike in the discord.
They weren't really feeling it.
I think there's some gyms in here,
but I want to hear your thoughts.
I hate like when NFL tries to bleed into other things.
Like I like NFL just be in NFL.
I don't know why,
but for some reason,
NFL vibe doesn't cross over for me into like,
like an NFL basketball jersey,
baseball jersey.
I'm just like guys just.
Just don't.
I don't really like it when sports do that, especially the NFL, just because I think it's such a big thing.
Like, I can't even, I don't know.
I blow my head off before I wore like an NFL branded soccer jersey.
I think that's crazy.
But like this kind of down.
But I don't know.
I can't.
I don't really like it for some reason.
Looks weird.
Pull out the cowherd cap here.
You know, NFL, you're McDonald's.
Don't have to stoop to Wendy's level.
Okay.
That's basically what you're saying is, yeah.
I get it though.
I mean, they're trying to like the World Cup's going on.
You want to be involved?
Like, I know what they're doing.
Sure.
Yeah, somebody came into their marketing room and their merchandise.
It was like, all right, how do we capitalize?
How do we make this a positive for us people think?
What do we do?
Football and football.
How do we do it?
And they spit this out.
And there's one for every team.
And again, you know, we got.
really solid combo with Micah coming up.
So I don't want to go through every single one of them.
Throw some ones you like.
If you see him at the graph,
you know,
if you see the graphic that came out with it that had every single one of them on,
there are a few that pop out.
There are a few that I like.
Obviously,
I think the Steelers one's pretty solid.
It's white.
It's got black and gold trim on the sleeves and the collar.
And then it has three stripes,
three thick stripes.
Not just stripes,
I'd say.
They're like panels.
Boom.
Boom.
boom, boom, right on the front, kind of like an Argentina vibe with those stripes.
And I think it kind of is like paying homage to the hypercycloids that, yep, you know,
it's the three right there.
So I think it's pretty solid.
The Buccaneers one gets a little wild.
Dude, I can see your dad rocking this on Labor Day.
Oh, for sure.
Not bad.
Yeah, for sure.
Buccaneers one is wild.
They got heavy on the pewter.
And then they just go on one side where they get a little bit of the,
the cream sickle and a little bit of the Buccaneers red that they have and it's all coming down
the side panel like on the shoulder all the way down uh I I dig that one yeah you got to wear this
at like a 76 just your offensive lineman friend or your order at culvers uh this is like something
you wear just for one time like I'd wear this to an amusement park or something once maybe
it's kind of hard for that
Dude, actually, like, I was kind of like, the idea in my head was disgusting, but they kind of did, like, took their time on these.
Yeah.
Like, there's some details in here.
The Buccaneers one, that's, uh, that goes in the category of like, you know, it's early May and your buddy is having a day party in his backyard and there's going to be a bunch of drinking games.
And you're like, I don't if I got a little wild here with the Bucks pewter soccer kick.
This is like one of these things you see on the internet,
but you never see anybody have in real life.
You know what I mean?
You're like, who bought that?
Who's buying this, honestly?
And then you see somebody three years later and they have it on.
You're like, oh!
Like it's the most hype moment.
You're like, hold, dude, you actually bought that?
There's, there's, what's the Vikings one look like?
Let me pull, let me see here.
Ravens go heavy on purple.
pretty solid Vikings one.
The Vikings
not bad.
No, it's not good.
See, this is what I thought
it would all look like,
nah.
Is that me?
Oh,
no,
that's not the one
I'm looking at.
You're looking at the wrong thing.
No,
it's fanatics.
Oh,
okay,
this is a different fanatics one.
Okay,
yeah.
Vikings is white
and it's got,
yeah.
The numbers too,
yeah,
61.
What's up sinners?
It's when there is
like,
the franchise
was established, but they're all the ugliest numbers.
Dude, that's why I'm an idiot.
That's why I don't want to like turn.
I don't want to like be in my 60s because I'm like,
God, the numbers are so ugly.
I'm 59 right now, by the way.
Everybody looks at.
Chargers is pretty solid.
Basically a rip off of Argentina.
But you know, with their colors and everything,
it's going to work out all right.
The worst one though.
Hands down.
Oh shit.
The worst one.
I think I'm out of having.
Didn't even try.
Didn't even try.
Didn't even try, think that they forgot to do it and was just, hey, let's throw the logo on something and run with it.
Yeah.
Not a local pod, but it's the Indianapolis Colts.
It's God awful.
That is on the rack.
That is on the rack at Kmart.
Hold on.
I can't want to see this.
Why do the Colts always suck at this stuff?
It's so bad.
So bad.
I have a feeling there's, what are some other lame?
Oh, my God.
I get a cold, bro.
Just cry.
I literally search for it in Google,
just like I did for the other ones,
and nothing comes up.
Like,
they're like,
I don't want to talk about it.
I mean,
straight,
like,
this is the jersey that the kid on,
like,
blue Fridays when the Colts were in the playoffs,
way back in the day,
the Peyton days,
this is the jersey that the kid
who, like,
wasn't really Colts fan,
but wanted to be included.
His mom went and got this at Kmart.
Nope,
it's not that.
It's not this one?
It's not that one.
It's even worse.
God damn.
Go to fanatics.com
slash NFL
Football X Football.
Dude,
this is like with a weird quarterback wear.
This is like what Brad Johnson
or something would wear
on NFL Street.
It's like,
no, bro.
This is not like the template.
You guys are like trying to make them sleek
with the curves.
They're trying to work black in under the armpits.
I'm like, Colts, you don't have black as a color.
Hey, they have Anvil Gray, okay.
It's not black.
Oh, my God.
Knock it off.
Please.
Yeah, that's a bad one.
The Jaguars, they went with the teal.
So it looks like a European soccer team.
Pretty solid, I think.
I don't know.
The Discord didn't like it.
like Washington is horrible.
Seattle, it's basically the same thing as the Colts.
They just totally forgot.
It's the same design.
They just like simulated it and was like, yeah, I don't know.
We don't have time to work on this project.
So just go with the basic one NFL, the basic concept and just shove it out there.
And that's what they came up with.
So there's some that are really, really bad.
But there's still some, I think.
And they're like the Patriots one's pretty wild, having the Patriot head fly.
It's almost like Drew Breed.
days fly all the way down on both sides from the shoulder down your sides.
I'm trying to look up the Panthers one because this isn't a Panthers podcast,
but why can't I find it?
Well, it's already sold out and it had,
hey,
I think you'd like it.
It's got a collar.
Dude,
I'm trying to Google it.
I just typed in Fanatics Panthers podcast.
I swear to God.
A picture of us comes up.
Face is painted.
Chad,
T graphic.
I'm wearing a Luke Keeckley jersey for some reason.
I don't even know it.
You're wearing a Ricky parole.
Now I'm just explaining my dream.
My fantasy.
Jake Toulom's in between us.
Jake Toulogne's in between us.
Not that we think about it.
I literally can't find it.
It's not.
It's off the face of the internet.
Anyways, I just had to throw that out there.
It just dropped earlier this week.
And I was like,
when I need to hear old Johnson's thoughts
because you're a big kid guy
I'm a big kid guy
that's actually that's better than what I thought
I thought that was gonna be a disaster
but there's some decent teams in there
would I wear them nah
but
maybe if I was like going
to a haunted house or something
it's like one of those one off like yeah
I'll wear this I'll wear this one
I'm shoveling snow with like a hoodie
underneath it
I'll wear this on December 17th
hopefully I see my crush
at like a coals or something like that.
Yeah.
I'll wear this in Joe King's basement.
Fake Jordans and a Panthers kit.
What's up?
Clubhouse uniform.
Dude, yes.
Fake,
fake Jordans.
Keep it in business.
Sweets, though, with the elastic
and you pull them up to just under your knee
with the Panthers kit on.
It's up.
Yeah, I shoveled snow earlier.
What's up?
Oh, man.
I, uh, dude, did you, did you see Cam Scataboo just being ridiculous?
Maybe.
What did you do?
I saw Jackson Dart walk in with like Offense of Lionman or something.
And also, this is like back-to-back weeks.
We're the only people not at Fanatics Fest, I guess.
I didn't know there was a fest.
I'm pissed.
I'm pissed about this one.
The Taylor Swift wedding, like, of course, that's funny.
imagine if we would have been there.
But like,
there's a fest for fanatics?
What's Tom Brady doing?
I have no idea what phase of life
Tom Brady's at.
Dude,
Tom Brady midlife crisis,
question mark?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Tom Brady,
you're supposed to be
mysterious QB.
That's the greatest of all.
Like,
you're supposed to,
you know how Michael Jordan goat
never see him, bro?
Yeah.
And you're kind of like,
is he dead?
And when you see Michael Jordan, you're like, oh shit, like he's on the internet.
When I see a video of Michael Jordan on the internet, I'm like, yo, he looks like that.
Like he, like he still walks like that.
He's like huge.
He's kind of like, he's kind of like Bruce Wayne in a way.
Like he only, you only see him when he wants you to see him.
And he doesn't care, bro.
Like he does not care about any of that.
He's like, I'll sit at home all day.
I did.
I did what I need to do.
He's like, he's not.
He only exists like in our minds.
Michael Jordan isn't real.
And when he pops out, he's always wearing something crazy.
And you're like, oh shit, he's still got it.
But he still, what I love about Michael Jordan is that his, among other things,
is that his, yeah, his style, his fashion has been stuck in 2007 forever.
Bro, especially like early Michael Jordan when he was like on the USA teams and he was
wearing like all that different stuff.
That was so sick.
And he's still doing that.
But when I think of Michael Jordan, I think of like super long baggy jean shorts.
Oh, you mean like his, yeah.
His own pair, his own pair obviously of like low concords.
Mm-hmm.
That aren't released.
And you're like, no show socks.
Yeah, Michael Jordan, you're seeing an all leg, bro.
With another super baggy Air Jordan T-shirt white.
Dude, everybody can picture Michael Jordan's like ankles right now for some reason.
Like you can just picture his whole calf and like
More than anybody else in the world
I think I've seen Michael Jordan's legs more than my own
Just flying through the air
And that's it
Yeah
Earring still
Balls still
Michael Jordan's style
Love that
Like if my if you're like
If Michael Jordan had to wear a suit
It'd be like one of those 2002 NBA draft suits
You know I mean
They're like a car
They're like big like he's not wearing some like European slim fit
like no never did doesn't want it doesn't cross his doesn't know it exists hey you only see like this
much of his dress shoe because his pants so wide mm-hmm bro it's so long so much material
so much material in that suit whoever's sewn that suit together it's just like a big curtain
they're like jesus michael jr yeah that's how you're supposed to be when you're like the
greatest of all time. Tom Brady's like
what's up Logan Paul?
Dude, you can't like, you can't like
hate on him, obviously. I would
probably be doing the same thing or something, but like
dude, I don't know.
But I don't know if it's, yeah, I don't know
if it's like,
because he's got
teenage kids and he's trying
to like really put on for them to be
like relatable like, oh dad's like
in the now.
Dad gets it.
Or maybe you just haven't yet like a midlife crisis of like realizing like, oh shit,
I'm not going to be like 35 year old Tom Brady, you know, most famous dude on the planet guy forever.
I don't know what's going on.
But it's so insane to think about like those battles we would watch in like 06,
not a local pot of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
And now, you know, Peyton is like the face of Jay Crew like in the mall, like how the
photos of him, like, sitting there with his business casual and he's doing, like, prank shows
with Eli and Tom Brady is doing WWE bits with Logan Paul. And you're like, what the
fuck is going on? It's crazy. I kind of like it. Where am I? They're just the, they're just the
boys, bro. They just always just wanted to be clowning. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning just always
wanted to be like just idiots on the internet. I love it. Gay. Falls back to
clubhouse rule.
Guys just like cool stuff.
Guys like doing cool, fun, stupid stuff.
Did you ever think Tom Brady would drop a photo dump when he had white contacts in?
No.
Did I like it immediately?
Yeah.
I'm like, QB1.
Goat.
Dude, now that we got Micah, I'm just like, now I'm like, fuck it, we can get Tom Brady on here.
Todd, stop by.
TB 12, what's good.
You're by fake Jordan.
from China.
Dude, that was, yeah, wow.
We'll get into all that
more. It's the first time doing this. So,
we're remembering that
you're going to be hearing this before
hearing the conversation that we had
with Micah. Yeah, but Cam Scataboo,
dude, he's like,
he just, I've never
seen a guy
that just
totally encompasses and
is
that
a walking concussion
a walking concussion about like that scary friend of yours
that you didn't really want to go over to his house
because you knew that you'd probably end up
getting thrown through a wall by him
and his two brothers
Cam Scadaboo's got four older brothers
I could have all played in the NFL or something
you know and they're just like I'm good
yeah they probably just like have their own
like truck detail shop now you know
and they still beat the hell out of Cam
Oh, they're way better than him at football
Still, but no, just like physically like bully him still
Yeah
Those brothers
He's definitely in that family
Like
He's not
He's like this is like a
A different variation of weed kid
You know, it's like I'm trying to put put a title on what Cam Scataboo is
But besides the kid that you didn't want to go over to his house
Because you're afraid you're going to get beat up
kid that gave his dad a concussion
when he was like three years old or something
accidentally kicked his dad in the head
gave him a concussion.
You're like, okay.
Yeah, just like the low pain kid.
Like the kid that'd be doing crazy shit
like putting his hand on a hot stove
for like eight seconds.
You're like,
what are you?
You know,
like there's sizzling coming from your hand
and he's just like laughing about it.
The kid at the party who branded a cross on his shoulder
with like a hot.
hot hanger.
Do the other one.
That's Cam Scataboo.
The kid that jumped through the bonfire.
Right.
Camcadabu is the kid that closed his hand in your car door.
Anything.
Cam Scadaboo,
the kid that put out a lit cigarette on him.
Anything with fire,
Camp Scataboo,
that kid just running to it.
Trying to get as close to death.
as possible.
Cam Scadaboo, the dude that did a cannonball
on your ping pong table in your garage.
It's just snapped it right in half.
Cam Scadaboo, the dude who fought your quarterback
two days before the first game on your trampoline.
Cam Scadaboo, the guy that would just like find a baseball
in the backyard and then want to light that on fire.
And throw it.
Yeah, you're like, why are we doing this?
Cam Scadaboo, the dude that threw a box of tennis balls off the overpass.
Kim Scadaboo?
Kim Skadaboo, the dude that had fights at his house after the Friday night football games.
There it is.
There it is.
There it is.
God dang, man.
Just Royal Rumble in the basement.
Camp scatibu.
Talking about it during the game on Friday night.
Yeah.
Do I think we're going to be Andrews?
Putting matchups.
Oh my God.
matchups together.
There's a whole bracket.
Like if they found the bracket,
they'd be suspended forever.
But it's just a piece of paper
in Scataboo's locker.
But he's like he's literally
putting together like a UFC card.
He's got like,
he's like talking about he's like got like kind of like
the lightweights.
And out of the working up to like the main,
the main event.
Yeah, the heavy weights.
He's like pitting the hardcore linebacker.
Pitting the hardcore linebacker up against like the center.
He's like, oh yeah.
this'll be a brawl
dude yeah
I can't wait
can't wait for the
the title fight dude
Massengale against Norris
it's gonna be so sick
not local podcast
wait
you're talking about
OLG again
Kim Skadamoo though
nicest mom ever
yeah
and the dad
that like loves you
you're like
finally I got a dad to like me
like the Skadaboo's dad
yeah
yeah
but like you
You just can't, every time you're over there,
you cannot fathom how he came from this literal saint of a lady.
Nice as mom.
Do you want anything?
I made dumplings.
You're like, dumplings.
Okay.
Biscuits and gravy in the morning?
Mm-hmm.
Curly hair.
Mm-hmm.
Miscadivu.
Right.
Yeah, and she's in,
of course she has all boys.
And so you're just like, man.
how did you survive this, you know?
How are you still?
Yeah, how are you still alive?
There's no way.
Like, what kind of, like, how's your house not?
And she's not even like tripping on anything they're doing.
I'm like, this house could burn down at any second.
Like the cops are always coming to their house and shit.
Camp Scataboo's dad always wore a really heavy jacket to the games.
Like blue jeans and like a really heavy car heart.
Camp Scatterby's dad.
Working man.
Yeah.
Kim Skatoo's dad.
Three fingers on his right hand?
Kim Skowdby's dad.
Working the fights outside on Friday night at the house?
Like Kim Skowdoo's dad.
Never mind.
You kind of double take.
You like look around the circle.
They look around the circle and you're like,
his dad's just out here?
He's about it too.
He's like encouraging this.
Yeah.
Never seen your dad's arms before.
He finally doesn't have his jacket on.
You're kind of like, please God,
Mr. Scadawood, do not call me out.
Because you know he's looking to try to find someone that he can throw in there.
Yep.
Hey, come on.
Yeah, molding here.
I know you got a little something in there.
Jump in there.
Don't be scared.
Pussy.
Cam Skadaboo's dad gets hit by a tractor at work one day.
Oh, God.
And that's a new segment called Cam Scataboo.
Hell, yeah.
We're going to do it every week for the rest of our lives.
Hey, comment under, comment under, please.
Yeah.
Cam Scadaboo.
What's he doing?
Or Cam Scadaboo's dad.
What's he doing?
Cam Scadaboo.
And then the violent activity.
Wrecked your mom's Corvette?
Camcadabu.
Rip the top off your mom's convertible?
Cam Scadaboo.
Got really dangerously close to drowning your little brother.
Cam Scadabu.
Like thought you're going to maybe have to dial 911.
for a second. Mom was a little freaked out.
Don't take Scotty in the deep end,
Cam Skadaboo.
He's five.
Hey,
Camp Scadaboo playing pool basketball.
Name something. Name something.
You don't want to be involved in more than that.
Hell no.
No.
Even the big linemen are like,
No, if Scataboo's in, I'm out.
Can never get a game.
So much acne on his back, dude, backing you down, dunking in your face.
Chipped your tooth in the pool?
Cam Scadabu.
Destroyed a phone by spiking it into the concrete because he's mad at a girl that he liked.
Cam Scadaboo.
Shot a BB through your kitchen window?
Camp Scataboo.
Pissed in your hot tub.
Camp Scatabu.
Pissed in your living room couch
Cam Scadabu.
I was going to say.
Dude,
Cam Scataboo is the guy
that pisses everywhere
when he's drunk.
You're like,
bro,
just soaking couches.
Scataboo sleeps on the floor.
But always in your parents' bed
for some reason.
You're like,
Jesus,
you wake up and you go downstairs,
Scataboo just ass out,
face down.
Like, what the fuck happened?
Puddle a piss on the carpet.
I know there's got to be a pulmonary.
God.
You like didn't like the whole night.
You're like he can come, but he's not staying.
Your buddy's closer with him.
He was like, dude, he'll be fine.
He told me that he's like, dude.
But you're like, do you realize what's happening?
We're unleashing him in this house.
It's going to be a disaster.
No, dude.
He told me.
Flat bill.
He told me he's going to be on his best behavior, dude.
He knows.
Like he told me.
All right.

Yeah, the living room and a bucket.
A living room and a bucket of paint hate to see him coming, man.
How many times have you, how many times have you been like going to grab subway lunch and there's just a crew of scatabooze?
I hate that moment.
Because I'm like, man, I should have like been one of you guys, but you guys think about pussy for sure.
I swear I could like roll with your crew.
Give me a day.
Yeah
Cam Scadaboo
Um
And it would definitely
Would definitely beat the shit out of both of us so it's all good and fun
Cam you know
It's all just it's all just good fun
We're not laughing at you
We're laughing with you
Okay
Um
Yeah dude
Should we get to Micah?
Yeah
Little
Uh
Little uh
Little Midwestern
Uh huh
Little Midwestern, a little Iowa.
Yeah, let's get first guest.
Uh-oh.
Oh, daddy's talking to people.
Daddy's got guests.
Right, right.
Uh-oh.
Let's get him on.
It's get him on.
Here he is, my God.
Clubhouse, our first guest ever on these guys.
He's the first team all Big Ten in 2012.
He was the 2012 Big Ten defensive back of the year.
drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL draft,
a pro bowler and 2017, two-time all-pro in the NFL, all-pro.
He's a husband, he's a father of three, and he's the founder of Hyde's Hail Mary,
the official hemp beverage of football.
It's Micah Hyde.
Micah.
Yes, sir.
Thanks for being here, man.
Welcome to the clubhouse, baby.
Oh, no, we can't hear him.
I'm me.
There we go. There we go. The suspense is crazy.
My bad, my bad. First guest on these guys. First guest. You guys are bringing me on for the first guest?
I know. Yeah. So it's an honor to having. We're like almost 200 episodes into this thing.
Damn. And yeah, so it's an honor to have you here. It's pretty sick. I appreciate you guys. Let me tap into the show, man. I'm hearing up with great things. And, you know, I've seen you guys over some,
some skits and some social media over the over the year so it's good to uh to hop on the show and say
what's up yeah we we had to get a we had to get a midwesterner on here bro so i'm talking about
how to get a homie from the midwest where you where you guys from indy indiana land baby
indiana land okay so just right i'm i'm northwest ohio so i'm not too far from indiana
yeah yeah yeah he's he's based in l a right now but we both grew up and uh the south side of indy
So that's basically the whole genesis of the show.
We just like make fun of people we went to high school with and college with and everything like that.
Let me join this.
Let me join this then for sure.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Now, I got to ask, you, your older brother went to Michigan State.
Yep.
You played at Michigan State a handful of times in your college career.
Yeah.
Can you confirm or deny?
Is it always overcast in Rainy in East Lansing Michigan?
Every single time I went to one in his games, I shit you not.
I do remember one year, one year I didn't go, but I watched it on TV and they were playing Ohio State.
That's the only time I ever saw it sunny.
Other than that, other than that, it's overcast and rainy every single time.
Like, yeah, sun doesn't come out in East Lansing.
For sure.
We've been running with that and like we'll have different people who listen to this show and they'll send in our Discord chat.
Just like they'll be outside Spartan Stadium and it'll be like a random Tuesday in June.
Still overcast and climbing up there.
Yeah, yeah, that's for sure.
That's crazy you said that because I didn't really notice that until you said that.
Yeah, I've never been up there.
I've never been up there where it was sunny.
It was always overcast.
It was always raining.
It was always cold.
Even when we played there.
When I was at Iowa,
it was the same thing.
So I've probably been to about 20,
20 games up there for sure,
you know,
while my brother was playing over the four years.
And then when I went there,
yeah,
it's definitely been overcast.
Cloudy every time.
Even on the game.
I can play the video game.
I'm like, damn.
Automatic rain.
Yeah, you can't control.
You can't get to add the show.
the sun, that's crazy. There's nothing better, though. That's like our ideal football game is just
like Iowa, Michigan State, noon kickoff. Yeah, 11 in Iowa. Oh, yeah, that's true.
We used to get up at 6 a.m. You know, didn't go sleep until like 1 a.m. Get up at 6 a.m.
and try to eat some, you know, scar some breakfast down and hop on the bus and roll to the stadium.
And it was, you know, it was early. Why is kickoff in Iowa always at like 10 a.m?
Because it's central time. So they do 11 a.m.
So it's noon kickoff on the East Coast, right?
So what's that show?
The noon kickoff or big, I don't know.
Big noon kickoff, yeah, yeah.
So they have that.
And then on the central time is 11 o'clock.
So yeah, those early games used to be brutal, bro.
Pre-game, Neil 6-A.
You're taping ankles at 7 a.m.
Seriously.
Seriously, you're not even awake yet, man.
Like, you're not even awake until halftime.
And by the end, you're getting cussed out because the whole first half was terrible.
Yeah, it was a fun, it was a fun experience.
but I'm not going back to no 11 a.m. games.
The good thing is, though, the game would be over with by, you know,
three o'clock.
We'd be back at the house with, you know, people coming over by 4 o'clock,
and you got the whole rest of the day to hang out.
Well, and it goes super quick, too, because, you know,
the final score would be like 10 to 3 or 9 to 6.
So not a lot of points.
Yeah, just the running clock.
You'd have kickoff at 11 at 1230.
It's the fourth quarter.
I mean, you guys are not rolling out there.
100%.
That's a lot of points.
That's a win for the defense, though.
I mean, you're giving up 10 points a game.
I mean, that's a win.
So we used to have to get on the offense a little bit about scoring some points,
but then boys did their job every now and then.
You said that you were out.
Go ahead, Ben, good.
I was going to say, what was life like at Iowa?
What did you guys do for a fun?
Amazing, bro.
Amazing.
I mean, that's something I like to hear.
It's a, it's a, it's a, you know, I don't want to say a party town, right?
And I don't want them to get too mad about that, but it was, it was a party, man.
we had a good four years.
I met some amazing people.
You know, I was a year in a,
year in a program with Coach Farnance that he knows nothing but the NFL,
how to prepare you for the NFL.
And so, you know, you do your football activities and, you know,
get ready for games and the offseason programs and stuff like that.
But then when it was time to hang out, man, we would hang out.
And so, um, go ahead.
No, sorry, you said that you were, you said you guys would be up until 1 a.m.
night before a game at 11.
Is that just like you couldn't sleep in the whole?
hotel or were you out there
yeah we'd get to the hotel man
and no we yeah we'd be at the hotel and just like
you know watching TV and watching
the Friday night games that would be on
and stuff like that and it's uh
you know they would get done pretty late so by then you turn
it off and you try to go to sleep can't really go to sleep
so you know it's safe to say I probably
paid a few games on five six hours of sleep but
definitely got some sleep after the football games for sure y'all
were pre-gaming at the Chili's I know you weren't in the hotel
come on no we had a we were in a tight
shit, man. Like, we ran a tight ship.
Like, that Iowa was no joke, man.
It was a, uh, it was definitely bedtime check or bed checks and all that type of stuff.
So there was no guys leaving now. Obviously, you get to the NFL and you got guys making
a lot more money. You got a little bit different, you know, guys sneaking out and stuff like
that. But at Iowa, nah, you weren't, you weren't sneaking out the hotel room.
That was going to be bad.
Dude, so obviously with hides hail Mary here, um, which we, we got them, um, awesome.
I've been drinking them every night.
My wife's like, damn, you're like getting high now or something?
I'm like, I'm not getting high.
Okay.
Just faded in the basement.
Look, man, you got to give her one then, you know?
Yeah, yeah, I know.
I know.
But it's all like, to your point, I heard you talking.
I got two kids that are young.
I know you've got three kids that are young.
And it really is, dude, it's like, I can't be.
My new thing is that like the kids don't, they don't mind.
They don't sleep for a hangover.
Like, they, their clock isn't operating on a hangover.
So at six.
30 a.m. You know, if you're 1.30, even midnight, having some wine, having some drinks, man,
you're getting smacked in the face at 630, whether you like it or not.
100%. And so that's where I've been turning to these since we've been in contact and does everything
that you're hoping that it would do. I'm telling you, man. It just feels good. You get a nice
little buzz. You can be around the kids. Like, you're not, you know, you're not belligerent. You're not,
you're not drunk off your ass. You're not doing stupid stuff. Like, you're just calm. And really,
if I'm being honest, I want to be around the kids even more because I'm,
I'm more, you know, I can, the screaming and stuff like that.
It's like, man, I, I want to, I want to be around them.
So, yeah, it was something that we dove into probably about a little over a year ago.
And, you know, I've been, I've been doing a little bit of edibles and stuff like that over the last five, six years.
Really helped me out football wise to be able to turn my brain off.
And so I was like, you know what?
Let me just start this thing after retirement.
I did.
And here we are, man, just having a blast with it.
Learning a lot about the whole beverage space.
It is a shit show.
It is insane.
every corner of it, like just meeting people and conversations and stuff like that.
I've learned so much over the last year.
So I hope you guys enjoy them for sure.
Definitely.
But we have, and I have been, but we have this thing on our show where I had to ask you,
did you ever run into a situation in high school where the weed kid at your school
came out for the football team?
There was probably like 30 of them.
What was one of their names?
Just give me one of their names.
Can I just say a first name?
Oh, man.
He won't see this.
Chase.
Hey.
Plenty of Chase is out there in Northwest Ohio.
It was Chase, man.
Yeah, he, that guy, but, but one of the best players I've ever played with, right?
Like, couldn't, couldn't be stopped.
And so it was probably about a good 30 of those guys from our football team.
But, you know, back then I wasn't really heavy into it.
So now they're probably looking at me like this guy.
He's a late bloomer.
Look at him.
He's 20 years later.
Now he's tapping into what we were trying to do.
They were doing that freshman year, bro.
Straight up.
Straight up.
So, yeah, there's like different varying levels of weed kid.
It's like you have the really, really great athletes that, yeah, they, you know, they're
hitting a little bit of weed.
But then you also have like the kid that only drank like monsters and ate kickats.
And then that weed kid, that's kind of who we were talking about.
You're kind of like, weed kids coming out?
This is a little bit wild.
Yeah, yeah.
We definitely had a few of those.
But some were the ones that were right in the bench,
but we also had some of them that were our key players that we had to count on.
There's always a linebacker, you know.
Weave linebacker.
Yeah, yeah.
I don't know if we had a linebacker.
Those guys were pretty, those guys were pretty straight and narrow.
It was more of the skill positions that would let loose.
There you go.
What's a, what collection you got behind you there?
It's pretty sick.
Is that just like some fine liquor or what?
Yeah, that's the, we redid that a couple years ago.
That was before, you know, I got tapped into Hill Mary.
I think you can see the cans right there a little bit.
Those are the Hillberry cans.
Yeah, I had to put those up there.
But, you know, the liquor, I, I drank a little bit back of my day.
But, you know, once you talk about the hangovers and stuff like that, I can't do it no.
I refuse to wake up with a hangover now.
I will not do it.
I quit.
It's three days, bro.
Yeah, it's three days of, you.
getting back on your feet, I can't do it.
I'm glad we're the same on that.
Even you?
Like, it feels good to know that.
Yeah, straight up.
Straight up. Yeah, I can't do it, bro.
What's a, let's flashback.
Let's go on the time machine here.
Let's say it's a house party in 2009.
Micah Hyde has the ox.
What song you throw on?
Oh, some Wiz Khalifa, man.
That was freshman year of college.
For sure, some whiz.
I think that's when
actually sophomore year
was when black and yellow came out
but it was like
this plane
you know
Whizcleave of this plane
Oh my God
It was it was always
A little bit of
A little bit of Kid Ink
I don't know if you guys
Listen to Kid Ink back in the day
Kid Ink was on it
I mean it was
It was a
Roscoe Dash
Oh man
Listen to the tracks
Beach
Yeah
Yeah
It was a little bit of that
Back in the day
You know that was 2009
So that would have been
yeah that was my freshman year of college
I was in the dorm so I wasn't doing any house parties
but you know that's what we were listening to
yeah okay dorm life
yeah for sure did you have a roommate in the dorm
I did I did he's another
northwest Ohio guy shout out to Brad Rogers
he played at Toledo Central Catholic
and so we went to Iowa
and every single day we would talk to each other like
man we gotta get the fuck out of here this is
too hard we can't do this man let's go let's get out of
freshman year it was it was tough man because you're just
you know you don't know you don't know anything
You're just trying to make it.
There's a lot going on.
Yeah, a lot of transition.
Yeah, school.
And you see your friends back home.
I'm eight hours away.
And they're up at Michigan.
One of my best friends went to Michigan and BG and all that type of stuff.
And they're partying.
And I'm, you know, FOMO.
I just wanted to go back home.
So, you know, it was a tough time for me.
But, you know, made me a man for sure.
Do you think you would have transferred?
If it was the current rules with NIL and transfer portal, would you have been out of there?
I don't, I don't think so.
Maybe if it came down to like money, someone throwing some money at me, but I wasn't good enough back then for them to be like, hey, you know, come to come to, come to whatever school, Northwest Ohio. Let's say BG. BG's not handing out no checks like that.
Sure.
Yeah, I don't think I would have.
And the best thing for me was sticking out, sticking out Iowa because, you know, it made me a better football player and prepare me for the NFL.
So I would like to say no, but who knows, man.
Money talks back then when you're broke-ass college kid and you're just.
trying to make it.
God. Yeah, you couldn't even get a free PS4 back then when you were in college.
It was tough.
It was tough, man.
Yeah, that was back in the, I think 2009 was right before that 2008 was the like the Hall State tattoo stuff.
Remember that?
We're all getting free tattoos.
And think about that now, it's 2006.
And they're getting paid millions of dollars.
And back then they couldn't even get free tattoos and meals and stuff like that.
Like, this is crazy, man.
It's crazy.
How much you think you would have brought in?
NIL like what what what what
over my four years yeah everybody goes back
and they're like you know Reggie Bush would have made
five million a year what's Micah Hyde bringing in
yeah I wouldn't I wasn't nowhere close to that
yeah and I wasn't
I mean I don't think I was one of the top
spenders now anyways in the big 10 so
do they even have an aisle
yeah they they do they do
but I mean I let's just say
maybe maybe a hundred thousand over my four years
right like that's that's my
and I was making
And, you know, my big income was my Pell Grant, right?
You know, single parent, my mom, I was pissed when she got married my sophomore year because that went down.
You know, I was like, Mom.
Stay single, yeah, hold out for like three years.
You can't wait another two years to get married so I can get this Pell Grant.
That was like another 2000 a year or 2000 semester, I think it was.
Like, yeah, I was pissed.
But, you know, you got to celebrate the marriage from.
from my mom for sure.
Did you stepbrothers
did you, Will Ferrell
get up at your own mom's wedding?
Sweeting's horseshit.
No, I didn't do that.
I didn't do that, man.
I love my stepdad,
Clayton, shout out to Clayton.
So I was nothing but happy for him.
But I mean, you know,
they weren't throwing me $2,000 a semester.
So that was a little tough for sure.
Don't love them that much.
Yeah.
2K, man.
You what?
It's okay.
That back then was a lot of money, man.
That was a, what?
15 pairs of Jordans I could have got.
Sure.
You were in the Jordan.
You were in the Jays in college?
I was on the Jays and college.
I only had a few, though.
You know what's your,
what's your favorite Jordan all time?
Like you had,
you got one Jordan to wear for the rest of your life.
What do you pick it?
And the color way.
Come on.
And the color way.
I can't.
Damn,
damn.
I was Nike too,
so they're like cousins.
You know,
it's not like it's an Adidas school.
Yeah.
It makes sense.
Man,
I think you can never go wrong with a one.
You can never go wrong with the ones.
my high school colors were red, black, and white.
So obviously those were full colors.
Yeah, you can't.
Any color of red, black and white.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, I actually had some J's.
And I think I had the funny story.
Opening game at Finley, Ohio, my senior year,
I got some Js off some Chinese website.
But me too.
Me too.
I had the Jorons.
I swear there wasn't a D in the Jordan.
Listen, by half time, by half time, my left shoe was, was,
was flopping sort of God.
I put that on everything.
My left shoe, it was the,
I think it was the twos of the threes.
And my left shoe was flopping.
And then by the end of the game,
both shoes were ruined.
I had to throw them away after the game.
But I didn't have any shoes to change into
at halftime.
So I had to just go out there and know that we got our ass wool.
And I blame it on the shoes
because I wanted to go cheap
and try to get some cool Js for opening night.
I was on the same thing, bro.
Yeah.
I got the fours.
They were so busted.
I was like, I'll wear him once.
I'll wear him once.
Yeah.
I did the same.
thing. I was at a house party with this dude and he looks at me and he goes,
can I check those out real quick? And I go, what, you want me to like take him off?
He's like, yeah. So I take it off and hand it to him. He's three years older than me. So
I was a little intimidated. Take it off, handed to him. He like kind of bends him a little bit
and just goes, yeah, fake, man. Fakes. I think you could tell about like the Jordan logo too. I think
it was a little bit, a little bit different. He was a little, like the legs weren't spread as much
or something. Like it was something great. Yeah. Yeah. It's much.
Jordan had a butt crack you could like see it. I'm like bro. Don't look to the
close man. It was crazy. Hey, but you know, started the game. I was looking fly. You know,
I looked good. You had to pick by half time. Yeah, by half time. It was it was tough. It was tough
love. But yeah, we're good. Dude, I got to um, so you're you obviously with your NFL career,
you know, you were a captain for for the bills. You're, you know, one of the, you know,
leading defenders in the league, you know. And so you, I'm sure you had to, you had to, you know,
to do a lot of like production meetings with the broadcast teams right yep who is one crew that
you loved doing and who is one crew if you're willing to say that you're kind of like I just want
to get this over with and get out yeah um I mean I enjoyed most of them because when I went in there
was basically just talking ball you know they wanted to see what you know I I guess what a safety
looks at and stuff like that kind of getting ready for the opponent that next couple of days or
whatever. At that time, later in my career was Tony Romo. Like just, just being in the room with him
and being able, you know, he's a quarterback, right? Former quarterback being a safety. So he's looking
at what I'm doing to try to get keys on me. And I'm looking at what, you know, whatever the quarterback
is doing. So towards the end of my career, you know, hearing, even, even now on TV, hearing,
you know, Tom, Brady and Tony Romo, the quarterback's talk ball. It's refreshing to hear. And so I'm not
going to go the other route and throw anybody.
under the bus.
Sure.
I didn't enjoy, you know, being with, but it's definitely different when you hear the
quarterbacks on TV talking ball versus anybody else.
It is always kind of weird when like, yeah, linebacker is like the color commentator,
like the, you know, the analyst.
I don't know.
There's some, no, I think there's some linebackers that, I mean, there's a lot of guys
that know ball, right?
Like there's a lot of guys like linebackers.
There's, you know, Luke Kikley.
That's one of the name that comes up right now that one of the smartest dudes I've ever met
when it comes to knowing football,
and he had the same head coaches,
well, Sean McDermott was his defensive coordinator
when he was in Carolina,
but Sean McDermott was my head coach.
He'd come to practice all the time.
We talk ball.
Dude is just out of this world.
Like he just knew plays were coming before they were coming
because of the film study and stuff like that.
So guys like him calling games, hell yeah, man.
I'm all for it.
I want to listen.
But you can really tell who knows ball
and who doesn't know ball
when it comes to, you know,
a Sunday afternoon and the bullets are flying
and they're trying to draw stuff up on the, on the, you know, whiteboard and stuff like that.
So it's a little bit different.
No, I know what you mean.
Yeah, it's because you go Roma or Brady, it's like, damn, this is probably like Cowboys Eagles.
But you got Jonathan Vilma, you're probably like, this is probably like Cardinals.
You know, they got the, they got the A team, they got the B team, they got the C team, you know.
And, you know, I thought about doing some of that stuff.
And I know how hard, you know, it probably is and possibly can be to talk to talk about like that.
Yeah, I mean, I think that's why Tom Brady makes what he makes,
and I think that's why Tony Romo makes what he makes because they're so good at calling a game.
Did Romo ever, like, go full Ramon be like, I don't know, Jim?
Like, would he ever do that in a meeting?
You know, Tony Romo has his sayings for sure.
But, you know, for us, it was always, it was always good to talk about.
So, but yeah, he's a character.
And I know, you know, I know you when it comes to impersonating guys.
I'm sure you have that one down for sure.
He's probably got you down by now.
He probably does.
No.
Wait too,
way too cool.
Yeah,
three minutes for sure.
He probably had the end of the show.
He's going to be doing it.
I got one more than I don't know,
Ben,
you have AFC or NFCs or anything.
I'll explain that.
But I had to because,
as you see right here,
I'm a Steelers guy.
So,
and A.
Raj,
my quarterback.
Yeah.
And you played with him.
Yeah.
And you also played with Josh Allen.
Mm-hmm.
Two pretty great ones to play with.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I got to ask, Josh Allen now against Aaron Rogers, 2014, 2015.
That's when I was with him, too.
Who you got?
Who are you taking?
Not a sports podcast, but who you take it?
Listen, I can't.
I got to ask that a couple months ago.
I can't answer that question.
Like, I'm sorry.
I can't.
Come on.
Because it's, Aaron is, the way I said it is like, Aaron is poetic.
Like, just the way he just dropped back.
And just it doesn't even look like his feet are on the ground when he's throwing the football.
You know, it's just, it's poetic.
It's just smooth.
And Josh Allen is like, yeah, yeah, it's just, it's beautiful, right?
Like the guitar.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
I just do that in my apartment.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You put it in slow motion.
You put it in slow motion.
It's just poetic, right?
Like Josh Allen is, I'll stiff arm a, I'll stiff arm a damn defense of lineman, right?
I'll run over a linebacker.
I'll just, you know, and I feel like that stuff.
that Aaron wasn't doing back in his heyday.
He was going out of the pocket.
Don't get me wrong.
He was, you know, running for some yards.
But Josh is just a, Josh is a different beast when it comes to that.
He's just bigger, stronger, maybe even a little bit faster.
So, you know, two Hall of Fame quarterbacks I got to play with.
Can't say one's better than the other because they won me a lot of games.
And, you know, hopefully Josh is able to get over that home soon to say he has a Super Bowl MVP and a Super Bowl trophy as well.
Yeah.
Bill's Packer Super Bowl this year.
who you got?
Come on, baby.
Split Jersey?
No, I ain't just a jersey.
I got to go bills, man.
I got to go bills.
And I say this because I love Green Bay.
I love every, the four years I was in Green Bay was amazing.
It taught me so much.
That's what they all say.
Yeah, but at the same time, though, I became a household name in Buffalo.
You know, Buffalo showed me love.
You know what I'm saying?
Bill's Mafia stepped up real big for me when I got there in 2017,
not just from my family, but for my nonprofit and everything.
So, like, I got to go.
I got to go.
I'm a retired bill.
So I got to say bills.
I watched that onside kick 360 like 14 times of that.
Yeah.
At the gym, dude.
Somebody was waiting on the machine.
I was like, hold up.
Yeah, bro.
Got Mike at the night.
Yeah.
That was nuts.
That was nuts.
Ben, you got anything?
In the red on red jerseys, too.
What's your favorite jersey you've ever worn throughout your whole career,
high school, college, NFL, or just like one that you like from another team?
It's big jersey podcast.
There's something about the Raiders.
I don't know why.
It's just the black and the silver man.
It's just like it's so clean.
It's classic.
The best one I think we ever did was probably the all reds,
the all reds are all blues in Buffalo.
That was my,
that was probably my favorite.
You know, Iowa was basically Pittsburgh.
If, you know, I know you're a Pittsburgh fan.
I wasn't too, too sold on those jerseys.
I feel like those colors, though,
are amazing.
Those, you know,
that yellow pops
once you pair it up
with that black.
But my high school colors,
red, black and white,
you can never go wrong with that.
But I think the,
the all blues in Buffalo were,
were nice.
Very nice.
Micah,
I know you got to get out of here.
Appreciate the time.
But I want to really quickly,
we also do this thing on the show
where we throw out different,
random items,
anything,
and we decide if they're AFC or NFC,
like the conferences and the NFL,
Okay.
Okay.
So just based off vibes.
So like, for example, you know, we always say that Gatorade is AFC, power rate is NFC.
Just by the vibe, you know what I mean?
The vibe.
It's all vibes.
Exactly.
Okay.
So I got a couple.
Maybe Ben has a couple here.
I want to see what you, what you think.
All right.
Okay.
AFC or NFC, drum wings.
Drum wings got to be, got to be AFC.
Why?
Drum wings got to be NFC.
there we go
that drum wings got to
drum wings got to be NFC
and flats got to be ASC
I don't have a reason
to say that
he knows ball he knows
other than when I'm in Buffalo
I would get the
you know at Barb out
I would get the all flats
so you know
aFC team
you know
aFC conference I'm just going to say
that's that's why
guy gets the show
all right how about
how about Iowa
NFC
yeah
there we go
there we go
there we go
When I think of Iowa, I think of, you know, the NFC North, Green Bay, Chicago, Minnesota, you know, Detroit.
It's, it's, it's, you earn your yards, you know, you play heavy defense.
It's cold as shit.
Yeah, Iowa's NFC.
You waking up at 11 a.m.
playing at 11 a.
Yeah, 6 a.m.
I play 11 a.m. game, yeah.
Getting drunk in a cornfield the night before.
Straight up.
So, yeah.
Hey, the, the steam's coming off the guy.
The guy.
Hell yeah.
Smoking a cigarette.
I'm a sideline.
That's it right there, man.
You got one, Ben?
Let's go.
Walgreens or CVS?
AFC.
Damn.
Damn.
Man, that's a tough one.
I don't even know where to go with this one.
I'm going to go.
That's crazy.
CBS is AFC and Walgreens is NFC.
I don't I don't know why you guys helped me out with this one what do you guys think you said you said
I said Walgreens is a FCNFC NFC oh CBS is a had it flipped in my head I don't know why I don't know what
I did too but maybe Walgreens is kind of like one of those like to me I think that like the saints could
go either way like I can see the Saints being an AFC team and then I could also see the NFC team a little bit
of flavor there that's weird but I see that that's weird but I see it but really like CBS and
Walgreens is the same thing to me.
So, I mean, I don't know.
Okay.
Maybe I'm crazy.
For sure.
All right, Micah, I know you got to run.
Appreciate it again.
Hides, Hail Mary, right here.
I've been sipping on them over the last week and a half or so.
I go to bed feeling great.
I wake up the next morning feeling great.
The shandy style, THC beverages from NFL veteran, Micahide,
made for connection celebration and everything in between.
You get yours at hideshalemary.
dot com. Micah, a lot of fun, man. You get the show. Thanks for being here.
I appreciate you guys. You guys take care. We'll talk to him. Thanks,
home. Later, man. Peace. Peace.
Micah Hyde. My God.
We were talking a bit before
we hopped on with them and we were like, dude,
should it just be R&B singer?
Hey, for our first guest, should we just have the hottest guy on that we know ever?
Hey, first guess, this is what we're doing to get girls to listen to our show.
Just have on the hottest DBs.
Hot D.Bs.
When you guys pick your guests, what do you like think of?
Just guys that are tan with beards.
That's just what we search for.
And great eyes.
Good shoulders.
What the hell?
Would you say?
Good voice.
Good center field turns.
Yeah.
Good hits.
Solid voice too.
Yeah.
Fluid.
Mm-hmm.
All right,
anyways,
yeah,
hope you enjoyed it.
First one,
hopefully,
yeah,
you know,
I mean,
I really had fun talking to them.
Um,
and would love to keep getting some more people on.
I think it would be fun.
So we could have him on rotation.
Station.
Yeah.
You got the show.
He got the shot.
He really did.
He's just a,
he's just a bro.
He's so clubhouse.
Mike and Clubhouse
Welcome to Clubhouse
Perfect
All right
Let's get to the emails
Team these guys
Atgum.com
Dot com.com
How about this one?
I've been staring at
This one
Really a handful of them
That have been flying in here
But let's go to
David
Who says drunk Indy 500 cringe
God
It took me everything
Not to read that
When it popped on my phone
You guys were getting good
With the subjects
I'm like
I want to read that right now
I'm like on the leg
extension machine
I'm like, Jesus Christ.
All right, go ahead.
Sorry.
What's up, boys?
How did it's on my chest
because it still keeps me up at night.
After the 500 this year,
my boys and I were walking out
right in front of legendary indie meteorologist,
not a local pod,
an absolute stud,
Chuck Lofton.
He was walking with his family,
smiling, enjoying his twilight years.
Without a second thought,
my drunk-ass turns and ask him,
hey, are you Dave Calabro?
B-tier,
indie sports anchor
and less handsome version of Chuckie Loft.
Smile immediately disappears.
He can probably smell,
the Kirkland vodka oozing out of my sweat glands.
I think someone in his family covered a little girl's eyes.
He shakes my hand reluctantly and says,
no, sorry.
Doesn't even bother to name drop himself and correct me.
If you're out there, Chuck Lofton, to you and your beautiful family,
I'm forever sorry for ruining the 500.
Keep doing God's work, fellas.
Dave, don't call me Calabro.
C.
I shouldn't know about Chuck Loftus.
Station, no, Chuck Lofton sounds like an outfielder in the MLB.
Chuck Lofton, but also.
like a, a, a 1982 lead man for a band that's like just called Chuck Lofton.
Like he has a band.
Oh, Chuck Lofton.
He has a band, but it's just him as the lead singer and plays guitar.
But they don't get any credit.
It's just Chuck Lofton.
Chuck Lofton band playing at every state fair that you've ever heard of.
I'm going to see Chuck Lofton.
Your mom's like dressed up.
You're like, wait a minute.
What?
Has a crazy following.
Yeah.
Didn't expect the following for old Chuck.
You know he played in the MLB for a few years?
What, he did?
Now you go to the state fair too, just because of that.
Lofton, Jersey?
Actually, dude, I have a Kenny Lofton, Cubs, Kenny Lofton, Jersey to be so sick.
Weird, yeah, not a local pod, but, like, weirdly, like, fond relationship with Chuck
Lofton.
Because when Frankie was born, you know, it was my first.
kid and I didn't know what to do or how, like, what was going on. So like when he would just wake up at like
3.30 or 4 in the morning, like most times I would just like, I would just get up with them and take
him downstairs. And, you know, I'd just like kind of sit and rock with like a newborn on me. And he'd go
back to sleep, but I'd just be up. But I'd turn on channel 13 at like 405 a.m. And Chuck Lofton,
my man would be there doing the weather live. And it's a weird thing because when you're,
at that moment during the week,
you feel like no one else in the world.
You're just like,
I just need somebody up with me.
I need somebody up with me.
I need to have that relationship.
Because right now it's just me and my baby boy who's asleep.
And so I'm like, I'm kind of in the twilight.
This is weird.
But yeah, Chuck Lofden, man.
Fall and winter of 2022 and 2023.
My little boy was a baby.
Just me and Chuckie Loft.
You and C Lof.
Boys. Boys for life.
He doesn't even know.
Austin, gang.
Thanks, dude.
Yeah, I've been rocking without the hat lately.
It means a lot.
Some good, good, good flow there.
Let's go to another one I couldn't wait to get to.
Let's go to Jack.
Weed Kid roommate.
Just going on, guys.
Love the continual stories of people you grew up with.
Weed Kid, Rich Kid.
Because we all think of exactly who that was from our hometown.
I was college roommates with Weed Kid at Michigan State.
Oh!
God, I'd do anything to be in that dorm room.
Hey, hey, cloudy, in more ways than one.
All right.
Don't get me wrong.
I would partake every so often.
But man, if you wanted to find the darkest and probably weirdest dorm room ever, it was that room.
Everyone in my family went to Michigan State.
My sister told me when I was like 10, that East Lansing was the darkest city in Michigan.
And absolutely believed it for years.
Looked it up.
And it's just not true.
But I don't think those scientists have watched a noon MSU versus Michigan kick in October.
Keep up the awesome stuff
Jack
Michigan State
Here we come
Please live show
East Lansing
Next
Dude next
I think so
My God
Hey Sparty comes
Just fucking wrecks us
Oh my God
He takes off his
His head
It's T.J. Duckett
Place he rups
Dude
Now he takes off his head
Drew Stanton
Oh
Oh
Hey, it's Tom Izzo.
God, I would do anything to go to Michigan State.
I was thinking about this, dude.
This happened in the espresso live stream.
If you could just be a student at any college
and just study whatever for your major marketing
or whatever you want and just be a student,
what college would you pick?
Like, just like to go to.
Like, yo, I'm just going to like, you know,
and you, like, you graduate and you just,
love your alma mater.
Like you know those guys? Like I always like,
I always like I'm jealous of those guys
that just like love like Iowa
State. I'm just like God, you're such an Iowa
State die hard.
Yeah, like them and they're
they're like 14 group of frat brothers
like go to a game every year together.
Still growing homecoming. Yeah, dude.
Like they were throwing down
when it was Iowa, Iowa State, you know?
Yeah. Yeah.
Like they're just about the cyclones.
Like we're called.
a totally turn into a totally different person.
Like you see the rest of your life.
You see,
but like,
no,
but like you see that,
like that,
that dude that is working in that office job,
Monday to Friday.
Everybody's just like,
oh yeah,
Tommy,
yeah,
it's a good guy.
I like that guy.
You know,
he just kind of was like reserve,
just kind of like laid back.
He's got that Iowa State banner up there,
you know,
that bobblehead.
So like,
I think he,
I think he went there.
The dude,
like you,
you,
like you,
like you,
you,
like you find him at a tailgate.
or you run into him,
like you end up going to the Iowa,
Iowa State game,
and you see Tommy.
Totally different person.
Losing his mind.
Bro,
actually fully decked out and cyclones.
Passed out on a fence.
He's like screaming,
leading chance and cheers.
With an Iowa State polo on his leg.
You're like,
you're like,
hey,
he's like,
oh, whoa,
yeah,
you know,
this is,
yeah,
this is kind of my safe space here.
You know,
this is where I let loose.
I love those guys that are about it like that.
For sure.
Hell yeah, dude.
Absolutely.
What would be your pick?
I actually said Iowa State.
Just because I don't know.
It's like a low-key school.
It's never like an Alabama or anything like that just because it's too much.
Let's see.
I kind of like you stay.
I kind of lucked out because like with all my stuff with Purdue,
like I obviously I didn't go there.
I don't have a degree from there.
But I am so involved with the school and the university and the programs and the different people up there.
I have a whole bunch of my best friends who are Purdue guys.
So like I do feel that drawl of like, you know, that that's my school type of thing.
Yeah.
But just pretend you're not.
a minute. Just you got no allegiance.
You know? No, I know. I just had to get that
out there because, you know, I just
inevitably would get a DM from somebody.
Just like, yeah, you say, you call
yourself an honorary boiler, shut up, bitch.
You know, like, I'm just trying to get that out there.
Okay, this is removing
ourselves, okay? Comedy podcast,
guys. Come on.
We're just kidding. We're always kidding.
But I'm not kidding about that.
Dude, I think it'd be Notre Dame.
Let's go. Yeah, why do I go?
Why do I like that?
Dude, just because, like, talk about people that that is their life.
That is their life.
Notre Dame, solid.
And look, Notre Dame always plays in sick road environments for the Shamrock series
or for whoever that they scheduled like a home and home with, you know, for two years
or overseas or something.
So, like, you'd have great road trips to be able to play in with your buddies.
We're going to Ireland this year.
Right, man.
Yeah.
Like, what?
And then a good chance that like all of your buddies that you graduated with that you're still friends with that you lived with on that room on on your dorm floor for those four years.
Probably super wealthy or probably from like a super wealthy family or probably just doing super well for themselves.
So like you're you're not skimping out on like Notre Dame road trips or like Notre Dame get together.
It's going to be a pool houses in that friend group.
Pool houses.
Burglars.
Bonus rooms.
Uh-huh.
Back houses.
Hey, if you need a place to crash in between your moves, I got a back house.
Nobody's lived in there for 13 years.
But then even it's like, you know, oh, the Irish got a home and home with Miami.
So they play down at the U.
And then one of your buddies has a vacation house on South Beach.
So he's like, yeah, we're all just going to go down there.
Stay at that house.
you know it's that kind of a situation
and they travel so well that they have like a big kickass
tailgate scene that they like properly put on
and like welcome party like with like alums and like
yeah oh legit bro they bring recruits there
yeah like you're yeah you're the you're the guys that recruits
oh hey how you do yeah we run this yeah yeah exactly
so pretty pretty easy pick
I think for me there.
The South Side Catholic Indiana boy really,
it's still in there, you know.
Hey, the school I wouldn't want to be a part of in any way,
for some reason,
Mississippi State?
Dude, what's happening?
I just crossed my mind like at 2 a.m.
I was like, I don't like Mississippi.
Are there any Mississippi State?
Like, what are they doing?
Like, I kind of can't even name their mascot.
I'm like, you guys have no, like, identity.
I don't know.
I need to do some research.
Okay, DAC Prescott.
Okay.
And then what?
Dude,
you know what mine would be?
The one that you don't want to be involved with at all?
Yeah.
I can name like a billion.
Yeah, go though.
I can't wait to hear this.
Illinois.
Oh, why?
I kind of like Illinois a little bit.
No, I don't know.
I mean, obviously, you know, I pay homage to.
There's something I don't like to, yeah.
I pay homage to Juice Williams and Rishartner.
at Mendenhall
in the 2007
there
but I
it's just like
they're just kind of like
in the I don't know
it's just like
they're not
they're not in Chicago
or near Chicago
you know
so they're in
champagne
they don't really have a rival
ew
bro not even cool enough
to have a rival
who is it like
kind of Iowa
yeah
it's like
I guess they have
something with Purdue
a little bit
like maybe
Michigan too
like
Penn State, I don't know, like, they just don't really have one.
And I never liked the wood look of their basketball arena.
And I don't know.
I'm just like, they just, they do nothing for me.
Are you Syracuse or not?
Dude, if Iowa, if Illinois, Syracuse, Wisconsin, and Nebraska played on the same day,
I would explode.
Just who's, just two spring games.
Sounds like a pretty damn good day
Actually
Hey Illinois playing
Like their campus is in champagne
Though tough name for a city
That is crazy
That's called champagne
Yo
Damn
I don't know
How did I just
Nothing
Nothing for me
That's funny
Um
Let's go up to
Yeah
Go ahead
Good
Yeah
We should have so much.
Just drop everything in the comments.
I want to know all your thoughts in the comments.
Please.
Or the Discord.
What's Camis Gadabu doing?
What team do you want to do what team do you secretly want to be a fan of and what college you just, I don't know what's happening there?
No, not even a fan of like you want to be a part of it.
You want to have a degree and you want to be in the alumni base and all that.
Like that, that's different.
For me, it's just every school Lane Kiffin's coached up.
But like that work is then.
We got to start the lane
saying Lane Kiven every podcast
again. Like we fell off for like seven episodes.
It's pretty insane. Yeah.
The police's big lane train people.
Even my dad likes Lane Kiffin.
Because Lane Kiffin's dad.
Oh yeah, Monty Kiffin.
Yeah. I was talking to my dad about Lane.
I'm like, because this is obviously the only thing
I'd ever say to my dad. Did you watch Elaine Kiffin documentary?
Or whatever.
He goes, yeah.
I used to know Manny.
And he goes, he goes like this.
He goes, Tampa, too.
I was like, all right.
Hey, that lane, that was a pretty good documentary.
It was fire, bro.
Oh my God.
I was doing so.
I think I was packing for a trip while that was on.
It stopped packing for like 30 minutes.
I was like, oh, my God.
And my eyes off.
Because he, like, you know, was a big, like, kind of
PR thing for him to kind of like get some likeability in there. And he's talking about like all
things he wants to do at old miss. And then just like five seconds later just takes the LLC job.
I love it, bro. No, no allegiance. Just all go anywhere. I mean, it's kind of how it should be.
Oh, man. Who hated him so much like USC people or something? Like,
every every place, every place that he's been at.
No, but someone to kill him. Tennessee.
Tennessee was like, dude, Tennessee was like printing all.
off his face and putting it on dummies
and like hanging them from the streets and like
lighting him on fire and shit.
Like they wanted to kill him.
So funny. They still want to kill him.
Just.
And that's the school
he like played for too a little bit or something.
Yeah? No, no.
Where do you have?
Something like,
I don't know.
Hey, you know what's crazy?
Lane Kiffin was coaching
like liner and Reggie Bush on those teams.
Oh, I remember seeing him on the sideline.
I was wearing like the coolest USC jacket.
I was like, oh.
Hey, goate.
Goate LK.
Crazy.
Fresno State Lane Kiffin Jersey?
Go T.L.K.
Hey, second guest.
What?
Oh.
Hey, I still have plenty of contacts.
I still got plenty of contacts down there, Baton Rouge.
We all have goatees for the episode.
And, well, that's what's fun about Lane Kiffin, in my opinion, is that, like, he breaks the mold, you know?
He's not like the classic coach of, like, the coach speak, and I'm not going to do anything cool or fun or do anything on the internet.
Like, Lane Kiffin fully buys in probably to, you know, like, to the chagrin of his people and himself, he buys into the internet, probably too much.
But it's great for people like me and you.
I mean, one of the best Twitter accounts of all time
and he's like a full time coach.
Yeah.
And I have a good authority that it's not like a team
that's running out for him.
It's him.
Just, that feels so good to hear that.
Go T.LK behind his phone, just putting out heaters.
Oh.
Yeah, it's not like a, you know,
like presidential accounts or like, you know,
senator where it's like they have like a team of 16 people
that's like forming all this.
I'm like, no.
Yeah, LK is like,
LK is finishing hot yoga
like scrolling on the feed
yeah getting some fire quote tweets
off yeah
bang LK
just busting down on Twitter while he's eating
an asai bowl or something
Mm-hmm
Fizer on
backwards upside down
I was gonna say
he'd think he's feeling
he's getting he's a feel himself a little too much
he turns that shit around
dude is that LK
or is that the bartender at Friday's
on the street.
Oh, shit.
Let's go to Derek.
Is this crazy?
Hey, Benedict Joey.
Actually, I think this is like,
turns out this is actually like a business email.
So we're going to fire back.
We're getting those.
We're going to fire back to that one and discuss offline.
We'll keep you posted clubhouse.
Let's go to our pal Bailey, old, old.
what they took from us.
Fellas, this isn't a south side local bod,
nor all I make a one,
but I was talking with some buddies
about the days of going to great times
or Rascals Fun Zone.
What about the OG standalone
Incredible Pizza Company?
Hold on.
Old Incredible Pizza Co.
What happened to that place?
I didn't even think there was another one
on the planet,
but we had one for a couple years there
and it was the only place I could think about as a kid.
I could still picture the desserts in the buffet.
What room did you guys eat in when you went?
theater room,
basketball gym,
or the dinner themed room.
Peace.
Perry weed kid.
That's so cool.
Incredible pizza company.
I know exactly where it was.
It was like back in the back,
like in the weird place.
It's like a weird part of suburban Indian,
or like,
it's like Greenwood.
It's like a cross from the mall.
Yeah, yeah.
It's like all, every store goes to die in that place.
Yeah.
Party City couldn't even make it RIP to a real one.
We tried to keep it in business.
I was literally doing my best.
I would go to a party city out here and be like,
can my funds go to the one in Greenwood?
Can you transfer my funds for this kiss mask I just bought?
That's the shit that me and Ben are on for a while.
Miss it, miss it.
Yeah, I never made it.
I think I aged out like just at the wrong time to go to incredible pizza company, you know?
Like I think probably my sister went to some birthday, maybe even had like a birthday party there,
went to one or something.
But I think I had just aged out.
They had an old man.
I think they had go carts in there too.
That was the next level.
Not a local podcast, but Eric Rudder worked there.
And I was so jealous.
I like saw, you said he's like, he works there or something.
And I was like, no way, bro.
How fun would it be to work there?
But it's like one of those places that are like
Do you even get paid?
Like it's not a real company, right?
You just work in there for fun.
Like what's your boss look like?
Hey, it's Lane Kiven.
I'm kidding.
I would literally move home if Lane Kiffin worked at an incredible pizza company
in Indianapolis.
I'm available all days of the week.
I mean,
open to close.
It may not have been LK, but probably not too far off.
Probably Goatee.
Probably a little heavier back then.
LK backwards upside down visor.
Please.
If we get him, that's the first thing I'm asking.
You ever turn that thing backwards?
When's a little while?
Coming back.
But if I had to pick their theater room, basketball gym, or the diner-themed room.
Probably the theater room, man.
I mean, if you're eating lunch in there, I'm figuring that you probably throw.
And it's like, it screams to me like when you could have like a pick of something, not a reminiscent
pod, but like you did something well or sold the most cans or something in grade school.
And like one of the prizes was like, you can eat lunch with a friend in the room and turn on
sports center.
Oh, bro.
And it would actually be kind of not as good as lunch normally.
He'd be like, why did we even do that?
Dude, I always felt like that.
Yeah.
But it's one of those, it's one of those unspoken things because you and your buddy are like,
you both know, but you're just trying to like make the boast of it.
You're like, wow.
Oh, dude, sports center?
Still the one they showed at 7 a.m. before you're off school.
You already watched it.
Dude, this number one plays crazy.
You're just like making stuff cool.
The teachers in there too.
You're like, stop listening to us.
You can't really talk about anything.
It's not getting down like the actual lunch table conversations, you know?
You got to PG it up because Mrs.
Cross is having her salad at the desk.
Feels like you're on a date.
I'm like, why does it feel like we're not friends anymore?
I'm sorry.
Did this ruin everything we had?
Meanwhile, your other friends, like your kind of friends,
like your JV friends are just having the time of their life in the cafeteria.
Like something crazy happens.
A dog comes in the cafeteria that day and you miss it.
You're like, there's a dog that came into school.
Hey, Scataboo runs across the entirety of the lunch table.
Kicking lunch trays off.
He jumped over the trash can.
One of his legs got caught in.
and he fell over
all the trash
on the ground
meanwhile you're watching
Sports Center
for the 18th time
Jesus Christ
we miss that
this is cool
this is cool
this is cool right
this is cool
yeah it was tight
just keep telling
all your friends
it was tight
if you go to
if you go
if you got a theater room
yeah you can probably
you could probably
throw on a little
SC you can probably
throw on a little
movie or show or something
I think so I would have to be my pick
I'm going
What was the first one?
Was it like basketball court or something?
Theater room basketball gym
The diner theater room
All day
Eating lunch laying on the ground
Oh
A hard ass wood floor
Unless it's carpet
Oh
Carpet gym
Nothing I like more than just laying on the ground
I used to do it at your house all the time weirdly
Your mom would be like
do you want to sit?
And I'd be like, please, no.
I'm just going to lie in the middle of your living room.
Don't even, don't even offer.
Carpet feels good.
It's so nice.
Dogs like licking my knee.
I'm like, all right.
Find by me.
Grab the pillow.
Ooh.
Underneath.
Two hands under.
Watching a weird cub game.
Cubs game.
Fourth inning.
Your dad's saying something cool.
in the back of my head
I'm like
are we about to get ice cream?
Dude, see this is what you're missing.
Go on back.
I'll move home in four seconds.
Just get Lane Kiffin to run
an incredible pizza company.
I'm there.
Guys always
on the verge of moving home.
Let's go to Caleb.
Caleb says NFL training camp
greater than NFL games.
Wow.
Oh my God.
What a day.
What?
These guys, I'm making an honest effort to make to New York
or the comedy club who was going up on a Tuesday.
Got hunting to club, not being choosy.
Yeah.
Here's a quick story.
I hope to see you out there.
For real.
I know it's Tuesday night and travel and everything,
but we'll make it worth your while.
Actually got Word.
We got a nice little couple.
We got a nice little married couple from Philly
making their way to NYC.
on 9-1.
So there you have it.
All right, here's a quick story
about how Station didn't know me
and the other interns broadcasting games
on an app called Mixler.
It was a good practice for us,
upcoming commentators,
but it was not only against the law,
this telecast is copyrighted
by the NFL for the private use of our audience.
It was a direct competitor
to some of our station's broadcast of games.
Nice.
While we quit those shenanigans,
the ringleader of these said,
illegal broadcast,
continued and chose his network over the station.
Who's listening to this?
Did these guys ever practice calling real games,
like random NBA or NFL games the way we did?
Some of my favorite memories was saying James Hardin's name
100 times when he dropped 50 on a January night
or drinking a beer with my cohort on a call of Wake Forest Duke basketball game.
Rebock NFL jerseys are the best.
Flip me, toss me, curse me, spank me, light me on fire while Cam Newton is
high-fiving, giving high-fives and free bow jangles,
tailgate boxes during the Panthers training camp at South Carolina.
True story.
Sent from my Verizon, Razzle.
Whoa, I got to look that up.
What?
I wish you would have kind of devolved a little bit more
into the NFL training camp,
greater than NFL games take.
But I feel like I probably could generally come up with what you're coming for.
And it kind of goes to,
another clubhouse law, clubhouse rule,
clubhouse adage
that the lead up to everything is better than the event.
It's better than what we're waiting for.
Good point, dude.
I didn't know where you're going on with that.
NFL training camp comes
it's late July, it's early August.
It's got that smell in the air.
People are cock and helmet.
You know, the pads are cracking, the whistles are blowing.
Candles being lit.
Candles being lit.
you're looking ahead.
You're like, wow, it's just now starting.
We got a full season ahead of us.
We got fat again.
We got,
yep,
they got weird inter squad scrimmages where it's like,
oh,
the lions are coming in a town.
All right.
You're watching NFL network and the Falcons are weirdly scrimaging the lions.
I'm like,
whoa,
what?
Right.
Yeah.
I'm like,
why isn't this like being,
why isn't this on Fox?
And there's better access,
you know,
like now it used to be.
Now everybody pretty much,
you know,
besides a handful of teams does their training camp at their own facility.
But like used to,
obviously you would have the teams that would go on the road somewhere.
And, you know,
and the cold still do it.
They do it in Westfield.
They're getting ready to stop doing that.
But they do it in Westfield.
The Steelers are at La Trobe.
They've been at La Trobe forever at St. Vincent,
like literally like 60 years or something.
That's where they have training camp.
And so you have this access to where like you can go as a fan pretty much for free,
I think.
They just scan you a ticket that you download.
you're like right there to buy the players
you get to see it's like a little inside access
type of feel whereas like
when you're going to the game obviously you're not
getting anywhere close it's super super
expensive like
but training camp you're like holy shit I'm
you know 65 feet away from
TJ Y this is crazy
yeah I'm watching Jack Doyle drink out of a
water fountain right now
wearing a full t-shirt under his pads
exactly this is great
okay
so I get where you're coming
from there NFL training camp and NFL games.
Yeah, it's like, yeah, I'd rather be October 4th
than Halloween day. I'd rather it be
December 18th than Christmas Day.
He said something in there too.
What was it? What was it before
he like signed off? What did he say?
Reebok NFL jerseys are the best.
Not before that, before that.
Oh, he asked if we ever practice
calling real games. Oh, yeah, did you do that?
The NFL game is the way we did.
You ever turn a game on mute and
like you and your boy just
go at it like when you're play by play he's color i think man i was kind of wanted to but i was always just
a little shy uh yeah kind of needed somebody to pop it off for you to get going you know and it was
like i don't i don't maybe i did it by myself a couple times when i was like really into play
by play and i was really trying to like get reps but at the end of the day i was like fuck man i didn't
do any prep for this so i don't know who you know what i mean like if the pacers were playing the
November wolves on a Tuesday in January.
It's like, when they get to the seventh guy on the bench for the T-wolves, I'm like, I don't.
Yeah.
I think we were doing it when, and we didn't, obviously, we didn't do any prep, but like,
we just started calling the game.
It might have been me and Joe King.
But I was doing like play by play and like he'd add in stuff.
And like, people in the room were like enjoying it.
That's the only reason we kept doing it because they're like laughing because we were like,
the timing was working for some reason.
I think from that I was like, maybe I could do this.
Oh, yeah.
And also I had a friend's dad who would do that when we played basketball in the backyard,
like on a gorilla.
Oh, nice.
We'd be like, yo, can we get Mr. Aubrey out here?
He'd be like the main event.
Like it'd be two on two.
It would be like me and Chiller against like the homie, Jesse and like one of his friends from like Greenwood High School or something that like we didn't know and we like we're scared of.
And we'd be balling so hard in the backyard.
But his dad would be like, Plitzy in the corner throws up her prayer.
good, like rebound this kid again.
Okay, cool, cool.
It was, like, I don't know, the lights were on.
Like, it was, dude, and he, I don't know, he really set it up, dude.
It was like a special thing, right?
Bro, is your dad going to be there?
We would ask every time, and he would, like, throw it down.
It was so much fun.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think I, I think maybe not a real game.
Do that for Frankie, for sure, and invite me.
Well, he actually, this funny enough, he was doing some golf in the backyard, and he said,
he turned around and he said, Dad, can you talk like the guy, the golf guys on
TV. I was like, you want me to like, like the announcers? And he was like, yes. And so he was, I mean,
you know, it's golf. It's interesting. I was just like Frankie Molanero on the whole one. Yeah.
Oh, yeah. You slayed that. You slayed that little low key voice. Yeah. You get into the golf
broadcast voice. But I, I don't think I did it with a real game. I think like, because 2K room and I was
around 2K so much in college. And to my that too. And two of my best.
Two of my best friends that were always together, you know, they would be sitting there.
They're way better.
So I never really.
And I was like, I'm good.
I don't want to, you know, I liked it.
But I was like, you guys go out of it because you're probably like betting on it and shit.
And so what they would play.
I think maybe a couple times I would do for like a little bit.
Yeah.
Because they, you know, they were.
They had taken part in some festivities.
And so they were really paying attention to 2K room.
and so I would do it
and they wouldn't really be saying anything
just because they were so locked in
their silence anyway
so I was like you mind if I just
you know because they knew I was doing like
play by play stuff at college
and so that's dude that'd be fun
Alan in the corner
yes you got their names on there too
right
but like
at the same time you're like
damn what if they're you don't want to do it too much
because they're like they're probably annoyed
but also what if they're like
god he fucking sucks
you slip up on a call
you're like
God.
You stutter.
I get self-conscious.
Yeah.
Yeah, I get self-conscious.
That's funny, though.
Yeah, it is.
It is like, I do know guys, like,
where I went to Ball State for a year.
There were guys, because that, like, they were hardcore with it.
Like, they would do that in the dorms.
They would just be playing video games like that.
But I think it was mostly so they could get extra reps,
like, calling, like, Madden and 2K and stuff.
That's some real, like, dedication right there.
People don't know.
Ball so hard universities.
big time communication that are like top five top five top five yeah David
Letterman building yep uh let's finish up here with Sam Sam says Justin Blackman
these guys long time listener third time emailer as an okay state alum I always appreciate
the name drops on the pod I can also confirm that boon picking stadium looks and feels like
the surface of the sun basically every home game in August and September
120 degree heat coming off America's brightest term
definitely does not do the drunk chicks
from the stands any favors.
The orangest end zones.
God, dude, the way
the way
those like 19, 20 year olds with the water bottles
sneaking into a football game
are puking in those August and September
games like that.
That hot bodice you guys are drinking
with cowboy hats on.
All that leather.
Let's go pokes.
falling over the wall.
Oh, my God.
My reason for emailing is I saw a tweet today.
It simply said,
Brian Cushing is the Cam Scataboo of Luke Kikley's.
Obviously, no explanation needed.
It's just a clubhouse thing.
Also, Academy, Sports, and Outdoors,
AFC, Dix, NFC.
Slap my ass with the orange paddle so hard
that it leaves behind a pokes imprint from Sam.
Dude, even the cowboy mascot
looks like he is burning up in there.
And why is he like wax?
I never understood that.
It's like a different material than every other mascot.
I like it.
Okay.
Okay, State, might be my school that I'm trying to go to.
Had a, uh, it's kind of like porcelain looking.
Yeah, he is.
Like, why is he a Christmas decoration?
Yeah.
Great, great ornament.
Why is he in the entry of like your hallway when you walk in the front door?
It's like, it's like that cowman.
boy he's like
what are I kind of
confusing for the cowboy
off Looney tunes though
yeah
I like that cowboy
so many cowboys
good a man
cowboy
big ass hat dude
how often do they play that
oh yeah
here's a little okay state
knowledge for you
so
my one of my
baseball coaches
when I was growing out
He played college baseball in the 80s.
And he said that they played at OK State for a series when OK State was like unbelievable.
They had like Robin Ventura and they were just kick ass, right?
And he said he could never listen to the song, You Dropped a Bomb on me by the Gap Band ever again.
Because he said when they played at OK State, they were like,
number one team in the country had all these future big leaguers.
He said every time they hit a home run, the stadium would play,
you dropped the bomb on me.
Baby,
while the guy was round on the bases and the whole stadium all would get up
and clap on beat to you drop the bomb on me.
I love those little traditions you don't know about that colleges.
You're like, damn, that goes so hard.
they like have merch
like yeah for some cheer
chant they do or whatever
but they're so in on it you're like
I kind of want to go there
man and so yeah
so now every time I hear you dropped a bomb on me
which I love that song
it's a classic song throw that on
at uh yeah
you randomly throw that on
at a house party or get together
like when it when you're feeling that the vibe
is like people like oh people are having fun
and then you throw that on watch
Fall by dancing queen
Oh god
It's a party I want to be at
That's a parent party
That's a parent party
From last week
Yeah
Yeah
You dropped a bum on me
Biddy
Yeah
That was on the green wave
Highlight tape in 2005
No
What's a podcast
So
Why was that on there
For like
somebody hitting threes or some shit
was that the three-pointers section?
Like old our coaches made
the highlight tape so they thought that song
was hard and they just put it on there
and I was like it's actually not bad
down
lined it up
with me throwing a full court past the
chiller for a layup
I was like okay coach let's go
watching
watching our highlight tape at
incredible pizza company for our end of the
your party.
Eric Rudder serving
his business.
But he was also on the team.
Yeah,
you always had that kid
that's like,
you're already working.
We're 14.
I know.
You make money?
Your family sucks.
I don't want to go to your house,
dude.
Your family sucks.
You have to work.
He'd be like 17,
though,
and have like $20,000
in the bank.
You're like,
Geez, I'm a piece of shit.
I'm a piece of...
I've literally $72.
Bad kid.
Bad kid.
No responsibilities doesn't know how life works.
Bad kid.
But he's also like weirdly paying a bill for the house and you're like too soon.
Yeah.
Let the kid be a kid, man.
17?
Paying the Wi-Fi bill because he wanted to like talk to girls?
Like, give it up.
You have $72 of your name and 50 of it is that cash that your grandma gave you at Christmas.
Yeah, you're like holding on to that case I get a girlfriend.
Got to take her to Macaroni Grill.
Yeah.
Before winter formal.
Ooh.
Winter formal, just the damn.
I never went to.
I was like,
this is a fake dance.
Got a fake.
Oh,
yeah.
Such a talking face dance,
dude.
Always ended up being the most fun, though.
Yeah,
because nobody's,
nobody's really locked into their relationships.
Then it was just like,
such a,
single time.
Winter form.
Winter break type shit.
Was it after winter break?
Yeah,
it was always in that weird lull of like,
late January, early February.
She's like, who just needs something to, like,
get the spirits up a bit.
So you don't try to light the bathroom on fire
at school?
So you and Scataboo,
then try to wreck the piping.
Dude, should we smoke weed out of the window?
Should we smoke weed out of the window?
By the theater or go to winter formal this weekend.
We should probably go to winter formal.
All right.
Let's not do that.
