Starting point is 00:00:00 Dark Triangles in the Sky. Metal saucers traveling at impossible speeds. For hundreds of years, humans have encountered strange, unidentified objects in the sky. And when they report them, they're all told the exact same thing. Shut the fuck up or will kill your family. But what if there was an organization dedicated to finding the truth? One that didn't threaten the witnesses. Can you trust a man in black with paranormal evidence?
Starting point is 00:00:26 Ladies, can you trust a man at all? Why can't I legally own a tiger? All of these questions you can find the answer to on This Paranormal Life. Hello everybody and welcome back to This Paranormal Life. The comedy paranormal podcast where every week we investigate a brand new paranormal tale and decide once and for all whether or not it really is paranormal. My name is Roy Powers. That is Kit Greer Malvena.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Just to say I did, I threw that last one in just for a joke. I already own a tiger. I already own several tigers. But now, this doesn't count if someone did that. You know when someone adopts a tiger for your birthday when you're a kid? And you get the fluffy toy, but you get to, you know that you've adopted Sonia, the tiger in Thailand. No. His name is Kumba.
Starting point is 00:01:19 And I guess a more accurate opening question would be, where did Kumba go? Uh-oh. Oh, dear. Because I haven't seen him in a fortnight. So just be on the lookout. Your flat isn't that big, are there? Where could he be? I think he's last time I saw him he was in Croydon.
Starting point is 00:01:36 So he made his south of the river heading towards Gatwick Airport. So he might be trying to go home. I'm not entirely sure. But Cumba doesn't have a passport, so he won't get far. Kit, listen, I know that we talk a lot of shit on this podcast about the shady organizations that have tried to shut down paranormal stories over the years. But today, we're here to talk about an organization that's doing the opposite. Really?
Starting point is 00:02:02 Mm-hmm. One that doesn't shut down witnesses, one that gives them a platform. Well, don't do that, because some of them are not jobs. I know what you're saying, though. They're a kind heart, a listening ear. They're here for experiencers. Yes, yeah. They support and promote the world of the paranormal.
Starting point is 00:02:22 To be clear, I'm not talking about us. We don't do that either. No. And before we head into today's episode, why not head over to Thisparnormallife.com to check out our Patreon where you can become a member today and receive some awesome rewards. Starting point is 00:04:32 all cybercrime or identity theft. Conditions apply. Well, our story today begins on a hot summer morning in August of 1967. We're in a quiet, rural region of southern France, in a village named Cusac, a small and sparsely populated
Starting point is 00:04:49 area where drinking wine and milking cows were really the most exciting activity on the to-do list. On this day, two young children, Francois and his sister, Anne Marie, were out watching over the family's cattle in an open field, surrounded by farmland and low hills, when all of a sudden they noticed something strange in the distance. Now, as a paranormal investigator,
Starting point is 00:05:12 your instinct might be to look to the skies, but for now, our story takes place on the ground. On the far side of the field, the children spotted a large, spherical object that looked as if it had appeared out of nowhere. I'm going to save us both a lot of time discussing the shape and properties of this object and tell you straight up right now that what we're dealing with is a giant orb. But orb means often in this paranormal life context that means like a ghostly thing.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Is that what we're dealing with? Not in this context. We're talking about a sphere. Well, I get that. That's what an orb is, but... Well, it's not ghost related. It's an orb. It's orbical. It's orbical. Yeah, but... Don't gas like me here, but an orb in the paranormal often refers to like a ghostly
Starting point is 00:06:03 little bit of light. Okay, well, what about in the context of a rocket ship? What does that mean, mother-fri-hattle then? Well, yeah, it's made a metal. Okay. I haven't got to that point yet, all right? Yeah, but don't just say, yeah, no, this is different. It's an orb.
Starting point is 00:06:19 That's right, that's what I said, though, because orbs are like a big fixture of like paranormal TV shows. It was a giant metal orb. I actually don't even know if it was metal. We don't know what it's made of. It could be made of an element we don't know about. Plantin 6.
Starting point is 00:06:35 It's a pretty good idea for an element. The kids look down at the craft. I think that's enough wine for me this morning. Mexican kids. Shut up! They were on Erasmus. I think that's enough wine for me this morning. There we go.
Starting point is 00:06:57 That's good. Now if you could say, come on, Francois, let's go see what it is. I wouldn't have laughed if I had known I was going to have to be a little French kid. Yeah. Yeah, go on, my. Lime? Come on, Francois. Let's go see what it is.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Come on, Francois. Let's see what it is. Just like the first time I tried butt stuff, the witnesses were scared, but curious. And slowly began to... to approach the object. As they did, the details became clearer. Luckily, I made those details clear for us earlier. Orb.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Perhaps even more terrifying than an orb in the yard is the fact that the children also described seeing four black beings, each roughly the size of a young child standing upright beside the orb. Pondering it perhaps, we don't know yet. The strange figures were not moving in a frantic or chaotic way, but instead they seemed to be engaged in some kind of quiet activity. Two of them were standing by the craft, while the other two were crouched near the ground,
Starting point is 00:08:01 with one of them holding some kind of mirror-like object. Huh. The children described the beings as having dark, almost featureless bodies, with heads that appeared larger than expected in proportion to their size. Francois cried out, Have you come to play with us? us, all of a sudden the creatures froze and turned their featureless heads towards the children. It was hard to tell. Again, featureless. At this point, I would assume my life is over.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Because we don't know what these things are. We don't know if they can look at you and your heart explodes. We don't know if they can travel back in time to when you were in your mother's womb and punch her in the stomach. We don't know what they're capable of, but all you know is you've got their attention. Yeah. Which is a dangerous thing to have. Or what if like, yeah, they do want to play, but their idea of playing is like they use telekinesis to, to like shrink you into the shape of a basketball and start bouncing you around the players. Right. For them, it's like because they're made of goo.
Starting point is 00:09:10 It's like a fun thing. Like stop bouncing yourself. Stop bouncing yourself. Yeah, you're dead on the second one. They pick up one of these kids and crunch you into an orb. Like a car compactor, yeah. Anything could happen. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Luckily, the figures didn't obliterate the children. Instead, they did something even creepier. One of the creatures took off vertically into the air and then plunged head first through the top of the orb. The second followed him, floated up and into the orb. The third, which was crouched on the ground, up and floated into the orb. Quick reminder on the age of our witnesses today. We still have one more.
Starting point is 00:09:52 Sorry. Sorry, because I know we have three that got up and floated into the orb, but we still have a four. Your Honor, objection, overruled. Okay, let's listen. The fourth... Got up. Jumped up into the orb. Floated up towards the orb. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Realized he forgot the mirror, floated back down the rabbit, and then went back up into the orb. That's true. That's actually part of the testimony. Got it. Yeah, super, super terrifying. Because it's one thing if we know that they are operating a craft that can fly. But do you remember in this second Dune movie when those guys just like, don't they activate something? And then just without making a sound, they can like float. And it's like the scariest thing you've ever seen before. Don't talk about the Dune movies. You know those movies, right?
Starting point is 00:10:42 Because you've badmouthed them. and it's left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm starting to think you don't care about my orb. I asked you a question. I still want the answer to it. What age are the children? The little ones? Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:58 I think they were nine. The intergalactic one? 900. Galaxies old. Didn't ask. That's why they forgot the mirror. They're senile. I just want to know where the description is coming from today.
Starting point is 00:11:13 I told you it was coming from front. Anzois and Anne-Marie, two local children who saw kids float into an egg. I'm sorry, was nine the eldest or the youngest? It doesn't matter. It's got classified information. No, you have it. It's written on. No, I'm protecting the witnesses.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Once the figures were inside the orb, it began to move. But as you could have guessed, this thing didn't start rolling across the ground. It rose up vertically into the air, emitting a sound that the children described as a whistling noise. The orb began to... The orb began to accelerate rapidly, and within moments, it had disappeared into the horizon. Jeez. Kit, I know that I just talked you through a whole lot of events that took place.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Yeah. It's kind of hard to picture in your mind what the orb looked like, what the figures looked like, and how they moved. Luckily, I can help you out. Phil, bring up the evidence. Here's the evidence. Here's the evidence. It's actually kind of a beautiful drawing.
Starting point is 00:12:16 It's dope, isn't it? It's like it would be kind of a good, like, tattoo or something. This is why I didn't want to tell you about the orb, okay? Because I don't know if that's metal. It looks like four children floating around the sun that's landed in a field. Yeah. And then the diagram, yes, we see the beings. And then underneath the drawing, which is quite pretty, we have a diagram.
Starting point is 00:12:41 And it shows, which is, I don't know if it's needed, but it shows the kind of specific path their jump took to land in the orb. It's all kind of the same. It's like every person just, oh yeah, but then number four, the path of the jump shows that he flew up, but then turned around midair, came back down and then presumably went back up again. It's very well documented. So they entered the orb from the top. Yes, they all jumped up and floated into the tip of the orb. Wild stuff. The kids were left stunned.
Starting point is 00:13:14 What did they just seen? What were those little things? Were they even from Earth? And without any evidence, would anyone ever believe what they'd witnessed? Luckily, there was an organization that would believe them. And that is the G-E-I-P-A-N, also known as the Unidentified Aerospace Phenomena Study Group in France. Right.
Starting point is 00:13:39 This is a not-so-secret department within the French Space Agency that was created in 1977 to specifically study UFO reports. Hmm. Fun fact, France is the only country in Europe to maintain a full-time state-run UFO Unidentified Flying Object department. Yeah, pretty awesome. Pretty awesome, which is what we love to see is the government itself having a very public investigation into UFOs. This is essentially France's Project Blue Book, a group of individuals that from this
Starting point is 00:14:15 point onward I'm going to refer to as the M-I-N's, Men in Noir. Nice, dude. Thank you. The G-I-N. Gar-San in Noir. Yeah, we can work with that. Now look, we've talked a lot about America's investigations into UFOs over the years. It may surprise you to know that when it comes to UFO sightings and other huge hotspots, one of the biggest in the world is France. I mean, usually when you make a whole department for investigating something, it's because that something won't get out of your f***ing face. And that's what's happening and has been happening in France over the years.
Starting point is 00:15:00 A lot of different UFO sightings. Now we're going to talk a lot about the M-I-Ns this episode, But for now, let's get back into our opening story. After getting the word out about the orb, the MINs arrived on site. They interviewed the children and investigated the area where the craft had allegedly landed. The police noted sulfur odor and dried grass in the place where the orb allegedly took off. But aside from that, there wasn't a ton of leftover evidence. Even when separated and presumably waterboarded, the children's
Starting point is 00:15:37 testimony remained consistent. And no surprise here, when they asked military officials, there were no reports of aircraft activity in the area that matched the description of the orb. Yeah, it's a long shot, but you never know. Safe to assume, but just you'd have egg on your face if you made that call and they were like, nothing today. We, well, no, we weren't. We flew the orb earlier just for a little test flight.
Starting point is 00:16:06 it was going to Dallas. Yeah. Oh, you know what? Yeah, because I know it's mostly like jet planes and helicopters. We are testing the ball of goo at the moment and it's pretty interesting proprietary technology. Yeah. So the pilot, and like, to be fair, he does dive in the goo. To get, there's no door, you have to dive in the goo.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Yeah. So it's possible. It's a little different to their drawing, but it's possible. It's the same thing. But I don't think it could be because you probably, saw just one pilot and a pile of goo, but there's four little pilots for this one goo ball. Yeah. They didn't mention a mirror, did it? Yeah, because the goo doesn't run without the mirror. So if he forgot the mirror, that would make a ton of sense. Yeah. And I really hope
Starting point is 00:16:54 it is in that goo ball, because if you're in the area where it landed, you have 24 hours to live. We're trying to iron that out of the kinks, but yeah, that still is a thing. Unfortunately, because Because of the lack of physical evidence, the M-I-Ns were unable to prove the existence of the strange whistling orb. That was, until 14 years later, when their office got a mysterious call. Hey, remember the Cousa case in 67? Well, it's back. And this time it left something behind. It's a quiet afternoon in January, 1981, and we're in the rural south of France,
Starting point is 00:17:36 in the small village of Transin province, a mere 500 miles from Cusac where the orb scarred a bunch of kids for life. A 55-year-old farmer named Renato Nicolai was out in the fields enjoying a quiet evening working on his farm when all of a sudden he heard a strange noise cutting through the gentle wind,
Starting point is 00:17:59 echoing through the hills around him. Now, Nikolai described it as a thin, sharp, modulated whistle almost robotic in sound modulated whistle is this guy a f***ing synth lord
Starting point is 00:18:13 I don't think so not in 1981 in rural France can I do an impression of what I think it's might have sounded like yeah sure that's weirdly good I heard someone do it as a UFO noise one time I was like that's sick I need to do that
Starting point is 00:18:31 okay it's kind of cool you basically have a UFO call that you can whip out I didn't know that about you pretty awesome Yeah, one time I just got stranded on a night out. My friends left me at a nightclub in the middle of nowhere. I was just drunk in the street going,
Starting point is 00:18:45 please pick me up, guys. Get an intergalactic taxi home. I need somewhere to stay. I don't care what galaxy. I just need somewhere to stay tonight, as long as I can get home tomorrow. That's a pretty good approach because usually I would just drop my trousers and show my butt hole and hope that some craft out there
Starting point is 00:19:04 likes what they see. And by craft you mean a 2006 Toyota Corolla. Yeah, last time I got picked up by a trucker below. By a trucker called Mike. Nikolai, Nikolai turned towards the sound. What's the hell it's going on? He searched the hills for the source of the noise, but the hills were empty. The noise wasn't coming from the ground.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Nikolai craned his head towards the sky and dropped his coffee. Hovering above him was a metallic, saucer-shaped object, roughly the size of a car. It was floating in place right above his garden. Now, like a real Frenchman, Nikolai was too cool to be startled. Instead, he retreated to a small cabin on a nearby field to get a better view of the craft. Nikolai watched in awe as this otherworldly object lowered itself and landed gracefully in a field of wild alfalfa. which is apparently a plant and not just one of the little rascals. As soon as it touched the ground, the strange whistling sound ceased, and the craft came to a stop.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Unfortunately, the craft didn't stick around for long. The whistling sound began firing once again, and the object lifted up off the ground, blasting a wave of dust through the field. Once it reached a decent height, the object swiftly shot off towards the horizon, and just like that, It was gone. Now, Nikolai knew that he'd seen something above his pay grade, so he did the responsible thing and he called the police. Reports of the incident worked its way up the chain of command until eventually it reached exactly where it needed to be.
Starting point is 00:20:49 The M-I-Ns. Don't worry, Mr. President. We'll be there right after brunch. When the Japan arrived on site, they couldn't believe what they were looking at. The craft was gone, but unlike the first case, case, this object had left its mark. At the landing site, the team observed a large circular imprint in the ground, several meters in diameter, where the soil appeared to have been compressed
Starting point is 00:21:17 with such force that it was as if a hydraulic press had crushed it into the earth. However, the surrounding plants didn't just appear to be flattened or disturbed. They seemed altered in a way that suggested something more than mechanical pressure. Now, the cool thing, Kit, about the M-I-Ns is that they work a little differently than their American counterparts. And a lot of other stories when someone says they've seen a UFO, a bunch of guys usually turn up in suits, cordon off the area, and offer the witnesses a lead tic-tac straight to the mouth. It's a very hostile environment where it's almost as if they're so afraid of anything leaking, they'll shut down anything before it even begins. you know it doesn't matter how small it was whether it is a credible source or not you have guys knocking on your door telling you you you didn't see anything and telling you your breath stinks
Starting point is 00:22:15 if you catch my drift yeah well they don't kill everyone no they don't they i'm exaggerating there is like there's a story or two where they in this kind of era maybe a little before they might have turned up and said hey we have reason to believe that um there might be some um minerals that need to be mined from your land here, Mr. Farmer, sir. So we're going to go ahead and lease the land from you mandatorily. You don't really get a say in it. But we'll pay you a little bit of money if you can make yourself scarce for six months. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:48 You know, they kind of be like, look, get out. And we'll kind of compensate you for you to get out for a while. Yeah, that's the kindest thing they can do. And we'll kind of do some investigations. And then if you say no, they say, okay, very well, it is your choice. And we will respect that. Then they walk away a few steps and they go, how's little Jason, by the way? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:09 You're like, what? Little Jason goes to Elwood Elementary, two roads down. He's like, I think that's my neighbor's kid. Oh, fuck. You don't have kids? No, it's just me. Really? Not even a dog or something.
Starting point is 00:23:25 What about, yeah, what about Banjo, the golden retriever? Yeah, that's Steve's dog down the road. Oh, my God. Who wrote this? Who wrote this? Who put this to me? I'm gonna come clean it. We're gonna kill you. We're gonna we're gonna end your life. Just get out of here.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Be a real shame of something happened to Stephanie. I don't have a wife. Oh oh. Do you, chew, chew, chew, choo. Michael, did we kill Stephanie? Yeah. Yeah, your wife is dangling from a helicopter over a volcano. I don't have a wife. Oh, God. Who the hell's dangling from the helicopter? Who is she? The guy's like, also if it was my wife, you shouldn't have killed Stephanie. Now you have no leverage.
Starting point is 00:24:13 You're right. We're understaffed to the FBI at the moment. We're just going to get out of here. Just take your cat so we can leave. I don't have a... Oh, you're kidding. You're fucking kidding me. Whose cat is this?
Starting point is 00:24:32 Of all the luck, We end of Marriott's house. This guy has no possessions, no things, no pets, no chick. It's like, what do you like to do? Sometimes I'll ride my bicycle into town. Be a real shame if one of those tires were to get slashed. All right, I'll just leave. Thank you. You're really, you're doing me a solid here.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Slashes tires. No. My point being that the MINs are much more open and scientific. All of their research and findings are made available to the public, so there's no need to hide anything or shoot anybody in the head. And let me tell you, they found a lot of stuff that probably should be hidden. The MINs collected soil and vegetation samples from the area where the whistling craft had landed, and when they examined it, they were stunned. Michael Boonez, a botanist from the National Institute of Agronomy Research, was sent the vegetation samples.
Starting point is 00:25:31 and it wasn't long before the MINs received an almost panicked call. I've studied the samples that you sent over and I have some questions. Like what? Like what the hell did you do to it? The leaf samples show a 50% reduction in chlorophyll pigment. That can only be caused by significant stress. And that's only half of it. It looks as if there's been some kind of mechanical heating or electromagnetic effects.
Starting point is 00:26:00 What are you saying? I'm saying that something strange happened in that field, and we have proof. The MINs concluded that the effects observed on the plants were likely caused by gamma radiation, possibly created by an electromagnetic field generated by the craft as a means of propulsion, and before you ask, you can't see the plants, I don't know where they went. Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't want us to jump ahead too hard here. But so the grass was a little bit less green than it should have been?
Starting point is 00:26:33 Nope. It had a 50% reduction in chlorophyll pigments. Green stuff. And also, it looks as if there had been some kind of mechanical heating or electromagnetic effect. That's fine. One of the dandelions ate a scientist. They got it back to the lab and it ate a guy. They weren't she more.
Starting point is 00:26:54 I'm feeling awful hungry ever since that orb been visited. You didn't talk before. Yeah, listen, that was maybe a very dramatic way to say the vegetation had been altered slightly in a way that was suspicious. Kit, these two cases are just two of hundreds of unexplained UFO encounters investigated by the G-E-I-P-A-N or the G-P-A-Ns. They've covered some of France's biggest UFO cases, ones that we've investigated on this podcast before, such as, the Valenzul UFO encounter in 1965. And now if you remember, this was a case also said in France that I believe was a double yes on the podcast. Yeah, wait, did that one pretty recent, right?
Starting point is 00:27:40 Very recently. But they've also covered so many other insane cases that I had never even heard of. Honestly, we're going to have to cover some of these in future episodes. They sound wild. There was the Mont Valerian UFO sighting, also known as the 1954 French UFO wave. In 1954, France experienced hundreds of UFO sightings in a matter of weeks. There were reports of landings, weird little guys running around, and there was national media coverage of the crafts. Something that we have not talked about before. They also covered the Amarante UFO case, where in 1959, a college headmaster claims to have seen a large, seamless, metallic object resembling a commercial jetliner appear out of nowhere. And he wasn't the only one.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Hundreds in the region reported seeing the object too. Or is what I always say on this paranormal life. We're always scouring the world, scarring the internet for data downloads, trying to understand the latest and greatest in the world of paranormal research, but sometimes we hit the language barrier. True. The language barrier is the fact that that I don't speak bullshit. So a lot of the cases we don't cover, all right? Yeah, the only languages Roy and I are fluent in are English and Cappanese. We're really good at lying.
Starting point is 00:29:09 But there are a lot of paranormal cases and evidence written in other languages around the world. And if something is predominantly written in French, we're not going to know about it. And yet, before you say, but kid, in the age of AI, isn't all this stuff automatically translated? Kind of no. because some of this stuff is available only, really, on like government platforms, portals where you could download things. And like, it's not that big of a community
Starting point is 00:29:39 that's interested in this area of research. Yeah. So there are almost certainly large areas of documentation that haven't been translated at all. Yeah. There was one I was looking into a while ago. I think it was some like Spanish government documents. And I couldn't make head nor tales of them.
Starting point is 00:29:55 I was like, I was like trying to find out, but all I could really look at were the dope diagrams. Oh, man. No, I don't think anyone had translated it into English. A lot of today's case is brought to you courtesy of the Chrome extension translate to English. Right. Which has been a massive help in today's case. Rory put it through that filter. He was like, hey, Grock, can you translate this into the voice of a pirate?
Starting point is 00:30:21 And it was like, yarr-har. There be stormy seas in the area. Valenzal in 1956. I put all of the pictures of the UFOs through GROC and it turned them into bikinis. Gave them all little UFO bodies. Local news is in decline across Canada, and this is bad news for all of us. With less local news, noise, rumors, and misinformation fill the void. And it gets harder to separate truth from fiction.

Maybe most interesting of all, the MINs investigated the 1976 Tehran UFO incident, where the Iranian Air Force scrambled fighter jets to intercept a UFO. When the first jet approached the object, it suddenly lost all instrumentation and communication systems, forcing the pilot to retreat.
Starting point is 00:32:27 A second jet was sent out, and it immediately tried to get a lock on the object to shoot it down. But as the pilot attempted to fire a missile, his weapon system was shut down. One pilot reported that a smaller object separated from the main craft and moved towards him at high speed. That's called a bullet buddy, get out of the way. Another object descended towards the ground, appearing to land without any explosion. So needless to say, the MINs have been. been involved in some of the most groundbreaking paranormal cases in the last 50 years. Imagine, you know, off the back of the Tehran UFO sightings, imagine if the aliens came down
Starting point is 00:33:09 now in 2026 and we're like, we're on their side. Yeah. We're on the Iranian side. America's like, what? Really? And they're like, yep, we talk to them and we kind of get on and we have a little bit of history. So we've been watching. You're cooked. Perhaps the greatest part about the MINs is that they are quite literally an open book. Their website is a searchable database of every case they've ever investigated. You can search for particular encounters and download full debriefs of their findings that include photos, PDFs, conclusions, and evidence. It's genuinely kind of insane.
Starting point is 00:33:50 I spent a lot of last night going through the website and just like scrolling, picking a case at random, and it's like download. attachments. And it'll be like photos from the site, transcribed interviews with witnesses, all the details, information of what was seen. It's incredible the level of detail that they get and then just offer up for free. It's always interesting investigating stuff that has been pre-investigated by a government agency, such as Ministry of Defense in the UK, such as American intelligence, Air Force, whatever, or in this case, the men in noir. What's always interesting is that so often these guys have already come down on a conclusion of their own before we've done it.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Yeah. And I'm going to go on a limb and say, I'm guessing the French agency to look into UFOs claims that they've never had definitive proof of a UFO. You might be right. Yep. You might be right. And I'm not saying that means anything. No.
Starting point is 00:34:50 But it's because, you know, you know they got to come down with that conclusion. because we know from Project Blue Book in America from who's our hero again J. Allen Hynek? Dr. J. Allen Heinek. The Hynek who spearheaded Project Blue Book in America during the years of UFO fever
Starting point is 00:35:11 he said outright. He was like, they're telling me what to write by the way. He was like, I can't say UFOs are real. He's like, I'm allowed to investigate it, but I always have to say they're not real. Yeah, and he's done diary entries where he's like, last night I was in a hacky sack circle with three nine-foot Nordic grays. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:31 But then the final conclusion will be like, still not enough information to tell if they're real or not. You know, like, he just can't say. And so I'm guessing this is the same. It's like they're allowed to investigate it, but for kind of like, I don't know, for just like to not cause a public panic, they have to say, inconclusive. Dr. Heineck is like, last night I brought Zach Trump. 6 to Burger King where we went into the car park and smoked something called space crystal where I saw the beginning of the universe. Reports are inconclusive, not enough evidence to suggest this was definitively paranormal. And then the newspapers just print that last bit. Hey, Pynex says
Starting point is 00:36:12 that we just don't know. Yep, there you go. Now luckily this is maybe the best part of their website and that is the fact that they have a ranking system for paranormal cases. At the end of every investigation, they give each case a particular classification. So here you go. Here's the Japan official classifications. You can give a paranormal case. Okay? First off, you have HAS or A, which is a perfectly identified phenomenon.
Starting point is 00:36:47 That is 27.7% of their cases. Seems high. Perfectly explained. You've got B. B, which is probably identified phenomenon. Oh, so you're saying perfectly identified means we have the rational scientific explanation. We have it. sorted.
Starting point is 00:37:03 Sorted. B is probably identified phenomenon. That's 38%. So already we're 50% is covered. Yeah. C, you have an unidentified phenomenon, brackets lack of data. D, an unidentified phenomenon in brackets after investigation. Then you have D1, an unidentified phenomenon after investigation that has medium consistency.
Starting point is 00:37:34 And finally, the highest level of believability. D2, an unidentified phenomenon after investigation with consistency being strong. Now, they have investigated hundreds, hundreds of cases over the years. The rate of D1s they have is 0.99%. Got it. The number of D2s they have, 0%. So nothing's been a D2? They have never given a case of D2 before.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Wow. They play even more hardball than this paranormal life. Yeah, that's just their double yes. We've thrown out. Yeah, I don't know what, it would be interesting to see what our percentage is. Yeah. We could figure it out if we looked at the unofficial episode guide,
Starting point is 00:38:20 thanks to Ashley Stevenson. Yeah. But it's got to be, it's pretty generous. It's probably like a 10 or 20% yes rate. I would say our, what we would consider a D1 would be a yes. Yeah, I guess for, to be fair, we do have a couple different things because we have double no. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:41 Then we have a single yes where one of us is convinced been all the other. Yeah. And then we have double yes. Yeah. So yeah, it's probably not that far off. Yeah. And that's our letter-based system. We have a case where I hosted it, I gave it a yes, and you said no.
Starting point is 00:38:57 That's called a F-U. Yeah, I think because a D-1 is an unidentified phenomenon after investigation with medium consistency. That's usually enough to convince us that a case is a double yes. But the cool thing is you can go into all of their listed cases and sort by ranking. So you can go immediately to the D-1s and look at all of these real cases that have been investigated over the years. Up into the current day. Wow. I dived into some of the D-1s guys.
Starting point is 00:39:32 And, you know, a reminder that these guys specifically investigate UFOs. So you're not going to see cryptids and ghosts and things in there. But some of the D-1s were pretty terrifying to read. We've got a case called Taverny, 95. D-1. Summary, observation of the passage of a dark triangular mass in the sky, unexplained phenomenon. You've got, there's Bertre, September 4th. A man saw a luminous square floating above the roof of his house spinning in place.
Starting point is 00:40:07 The contractor who carried out the roof repairs confirmed that the tiles were twisted clockwise over a length of five meters. WTF? I know, and these are just, you can just read all these cases. is online. Jeez. Etrelles, 35. Multiple witnesses spotted a dark mass in the sky, equipped with two small lights, sudden movement at dizzying speed, case considered for a D2 classification, which it obviously never fully reached.
Starting point is 00:40:39 But... Because you're not allowed to conclude D2. Yeah. Heineck said it a long time ago. You can't do it! You know, these organizations are Icarus. We can look at the sun. We can examine the sun.
Starting point is 00:40:54 We can write about the sun. We can say the sun is hot, but you can't fly right up to it. Otherwise, guess what? Your organization is shut down. There's a reason why the MINs have been able to fly under the radar for so long. And it's because they basically say, we saw a UFO. Little guys came down. They went into an orb.
Starting point is 00:41:15 Everybody saw it. There's evidence on the ground. the evidence is inconclusive. They have to conclude with that little tick. And that just gets the person behind you to lower the gun, at least for another day. Yeah. And that's what life is about. If you go out and write the best song ever today, and everyone on earth agrees, it's the best song ever.
Starting point is 00:41:39 And you're just a guy or you're just a girl and you wrote it. And it takes over the world up, fame, fortune, everyone loves you. you ain't getting the Grammy. They're going to give the Grammy to post him alone. Because there's a plan. I don't know. I don't understand the analogy. They have,
Starting point is 00:41:56 there is a vetted list of people who will receive the thing. You can't just break in as an outsider and change the script. It's like, we were talking before the podcast. We were talking about the Oscars happening. And there was a lot of talk of, is Timitay going to get the Oscars Timitay? All the insiders were like, no, he can't.
Starting point is 00:42:16 They won't give it to, a young G. I don't know why that is. That's just a rule they have. They just won't do it. They only give it to people over a certain age. Right. You got to pay your dues. There's just rules to the game that they don't say out loud. Damn. Okay. So you're saying there's no point in me writing any songs because I'm never going to win any awards for it. Well, there's no point in you writing any songs because the last time you try, they just came out all weirdly sexual. So like, those definitely wouldn't win, I feel like. Because I won't lie. Like, there is a section later on in this script where I was.
Starting point is 00:42:50 I had wrote a whole song about the orb. I mean, the listeners will love it. I'm just saying you win a Grammy for it. Okay. It just feels like, I don't know, the wind's kind of out of my sales a little bit because like... You thought you were going to win like best new artists at the Grammys? I spent a lot of time on the song, man.
Starting point is 00:43:04 A lot of money too as well. So... Where'd you record it? The place, uh, what do you call it? The place, uh, where those bugs went to make music. The Beatles? Yeah. Abbey Road.
Starting point is 00:43:17 That's the one. You hired Abbey Road? Yeah. What's the Abbey Road? The world's most famous music studio. Yeah, yeah. I thought it was going to be worth it. It's like that'll convince you.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Listen, I think that there has been no D2 case yet because none of these cases have supporting songs. Do you remember all the best old movies? All had their own songs. Will Smith's, men in black had the song, men in black. Will Smith's Wild Wild West had that song. about the Wild Wild West. Ghostbusters. Yeah, they all have songs.
Starting point is 00:43:54 Space Jam! Thank you, Phil. What's the Space Jam song in? Welcome to the Space Jam. All right, all right. Wave your hands in the air if it feels right. We're gonna send it into overtime. Welcome to the Space Jam. You know this isn't a movie though.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Four little kids went into an orb. I'm sorry, I got too excited there. What was that, I died? Four little kids went... Sorry, I got a little excited there, and I started singing my orb song. I like that flow, though. Four little kids went into an orb. We just in the next line.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll play the song. We'll play the song. The song doesn't exist yet. The song does exist. We're going to play it right here. All right, so, okay. Kit doesn't get to hear it because we're just going to put it, put it live in the studio.
Starting point is 00:44:51 But so bear in mind, when he comes down on his conclusion today, he hasn't heard the song. But this one, this is the little song called Four Little Kids. Oh, we are. And the great thing is, I did get a preview of it there. So we know what the first line is. I might have rewritten. I might have rewritten it by the time it sunk. So inside is promising. I don't want to-
Starting point is 00:45:19 I don't want to commit to that opening. Well you said it's you said you recorded it I be wrote so it exists. Yeah but you can always do re-records. Okay just bear this in mind that kid hasn't heard the song we come down on conclusions but you're gonna hear it right now. So this is a little song before we've concluded yeah we're gonna do it right then there's a little song to support today's case and it's called four little kids, four little kids went to floated in into an orb. So, enjoy right now. 4 little kids thrown it into an orb.
Starting point is 00:45:52 And that sort of thing is hard to ignore. The tiny little buddies throwed it up to the top in front of Emory and her brother Francois. Yo, Francois freaked and he told the cops. He said, I got a story here that'll blow your socks. I saw a strange craft that you won't believe. You gotta call the motherfuck am I B. So the cops called the guys called the Men In noir
Starting point is 00:46:11 who put the pedal to the metal when they got in the cars. They reached Francois and they said, come here. Let me tell you, we do let me whisper in your ear hey little buddy with a men in noir you can try to outrun us but you won't get far we heard a lot of stories but nothing compares to four kids in an orb floating in the air because four little kids loaded into an orb hey little buddy with a men in noir you can try to outrun us but you won't get far four little kids loaded into an orb welcome back to the podcast i hope you enjoyed the song
Starting point is 00:46:46 Now, obviously, right now, you were in a place where you believe wholeheartedly that these events took place, every one of these events that I listed because the song, I think, covered everything. I haven't, I don't remember all the lyrics, but I think it goes through every single, over 300 cases that were investigated. All the D-1s in the logs is genuinely incredible. I think the song's like 17 minutes long. And it's kind of like an Eminem style rap god wild freestyle. Granted, maybe the version I ended up including was like 30 seconds. I don't know, but maybe, you know, there is a 17-minute cut out there in the world. Everyone needs to know that.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Listen, Kit, it's no surprise that France is one of the few European countries taking UFO encounters so seriously. Because France is actually home to one of the oldest UFO testimonies of all time. Back in 815, the Archbishop Abagard of Lyons described in his writing, the people of Magonia, quote, people whose ships come in through the clouds. Now obviously this sounds like it could be a metaphor or just some imaginative poetry, but he went on to say that at one point four of them were captured and brought forward to be stoned to death. Which is Pretty realistic I assume that is how humans would treat aliens
Starting point is 00:48:16 If they were actually discovered on Earth Well it was an age of empires You know you had to be careful It's like when you know Spanish Armada ships washed up In Ireland Yeah And we beat them to death on the shore Not all of them
Starting point is 00:48:30 But some of them Right It's just We're an angry little species You know But I thought this was worth including Because one We always love a bit of ancient
Starting point is 00:48:40 in alien history. We love to see UFO stories through art and literature as early as the 1800s. Sorry, as early as the 800s. But do I have to point something else out? Four little guys were captured? You don't think. Did they come out of an orb? What? Who knows? Maybe four little guys have been visiting France for longer than we think. Maybe it sounds like they've been coming for thousands of years, but for them, that's just every intergalactic summer break. Yeah. We don't know. The passage of time is different on their planet.
Starting point is 00:49:16 It could be. Right, I'm going to hijack this. So do you remember the podcast? We did a podcast. I think it was a bonus episode? Yeah. Into the airship of Clon McNish. Oh, I knew this one was coming.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Well, yeah. I knew as soon as... Because you can't bring up what you just brought up and then take it seriously. And then I can't bring up how much you lambasted me. We're talking about the airship of Clon McNish. No. It happened in quite a similar. time period, probably 300
Starting point is 00:49:42 years later, but it was a long time ago in Ireland. And it was at a church and it's a crazy report and there's like drawings of it and stuff. Yeah. Of the clouds parting and a ship exactly like you mentioned flying through the sky
Starting point is 00:49:58 and then they didn't have the words for us. They were like the men on the ship flew down. Yeah. They dropped anchor and they flew down to earth. And it was like them flying through the air was like breathing, was like them holding their breath underwater. Like swimming down. Swimming down to earth.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Really weird. I want to point out, kids said they dropped the anchor. That isn't a metaphor. In the story, an actual anchor came down and slammed into a church. We're not going to get too hung up on the anchor because you were really annoyed about the anchor in the episode. Well, I just want everyone to know I'm not laughing about the case because I think the case is great. I was laughing because you started referring to them as Sky People, also known as Silfs. Yes.
Starting point is 00:50:43 That's one of the other names for Sky People. Which not Sky People I want to be, but S-Y-L-P-H-S. It is one of my favorite, it was a bonus episode, I think. It is, it was. One of my favorite bonus episodes we've ever done. I'm going to put a clip in right now so you can get a little taste of that bonus episode. And you know some of the gold that's out there if you want to check it out. on This ParanormalLife.com
Starting point is 00:51:08 on our Patreon. You can get awesome bonus episodes like that. Here's the clip. In the 12th century, a story incredibly similar to Clon McNish happened but in London, including a sky anchor and someone who came down to Earth
Starting point is 00:51:23 via the anchor. We're seeing a pattern here. So it is an anchor. That's what they thought. Thought! Take it down. But you can't keep telling me. We don't know if it was an anchor.
Starting point is 00:51:35 And yeah, that was 600 years later. All right. I'm just struggling to deal with because you can't have it both ways. You need to watch some sci-fi or something or try and open up your brain about, look, I know I wanted to be a tractor beam. We all wanted to be a tractor beam. I hosted the case where we looked back at medieval art and I argued that the beams of light from heaven were tractor beams. I've done that. But they're saying they use anchors and maybe they do.
Starting point is 00:52:00 So it is an anchor. Sure. Okay, right. Because before you told me it wasn't an anchor. I'm just saying that's not even. That wouldn't even be that crazy of a possibility. It's more crazy that there's a ship in the sky with dudes on it. We're literally one paragraph away from you saying,
Starting point is 00:52:18 1983, an anchor came down and killed a woman. I mean, it's either aliens or sky pirates. So whichever you want it to be. Oh, the sky rites. Oh, they're real. I believe in the skyrots. In fact, stories about sky people were so common that by the 16th century...
Starting point is 00:52:36 That sentence alone. Should lead us to you deal with this you live with this piece of information You let you these are not my words you take this piece of information and you are you explained to me You explain to me what this is this case you explained to me with this here Explain this by the 16th century Okay, we are 40 minutes in is the first time you've ever said the word sky people in the 16th century? In the 16th century reports for so frequent that the Swiss theologian Paracelsus actually created a new word for the sky people,
Starting point is 00:53:13 calling them sylphs. I just heard the old word. This is the first time I've heard sky people. Silfs. They had to make up, not milfs, sky people I'd love to f-h. No, spell S-Y-L. Silf. S-Y-L-H-S. Luckily, Abagard of Lyons in his writing goes on to say that the four little guys, were kept in chains for several days, but then eventually set free and they weren't stone to death. Whoa. Yeah, pretty crazy stuff.
Starting point is 00:53:46 So you think they just like lived in France and got married and stayed? Maybe they went back up. Maybe they're the same four little dudes who came back in an orb years later. See, I'm worried that they started a genetic lineage here on Earth. Oh my God. Wow. Hopefully not. That would be too much for me to handle.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Listen, we've reached. the end of our investigation today, a case where we're kind of investigating a few different UFO encounters, but more so we're investigating this G-PAN, this organization, the M-I-Ns. And, you know, usually at the end of an episode we come down on a conclusion as to whether or not we think a story is real. You know, I think we could do that. You know what? Hold on. Hold on. Are you regretting throwing your entire script on the floor? Yeah. It's all. Yeah, I have actually. Hold on a second.
Starting point is 00:54:37 It's so disarried. Okay. You know what, Kit? I've decided. We are gonna do that. We are going to be the M-I-Ns today. We are gonna be the G-pans. Okay, let's talk about our first case
Starting point is 00:54:54 where two kids saw an orb with the floating children. If you don't remember exactly how the story went, Four little kids floated into an orb. That's what happened. I'm going to let you give that a G pound rating right now. What are you giving it? Is it a D1? Is it a D2?
Starting point is 00:55:15 Is it a D? I mean, I suppose it is a D1. That's a D1. Because it is an unexplained event with moderate consistency, which is to say there is stories, which on their own wouldn't quite be enough, but is corroborated by at least something in the grass. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:37 and the earth. Yes. And we did say that we're not allowed to use witnesses under six years of age. These ones were nine, I believe. Oh, good. It's substantially older. Kit, our second story
Starting point is 00:55:51 about Nikolai, who saw a craft come down and f*** up the earth. What are you given that? I guess it's similar. I don't like that it's one witness, though. Yeah. Because one witness is almost more
Starting point is 00:56:03 like hoaxable or something. Sure. I don't know how we're getting, it's tough to note, like, would the botanist, did the botanist really say, like, this can only happen from radioactivity? You know what I'm saying? The botanist hung himself that night. No, he didn't. He'd never seen plants like that before. He was so scared. He didn't want to live on this planet anymore. The primary thing was the grass was a bit less green than it should have been. Let's just say that factually. I don't know. You tell me. It's a D2 for me. No, it's absolutely. It's just small. This is why I'm not allowed to work.
Starting point is 00:56:37 The first ever D-2. For the sake. Yeah, for the record, these are all cases that this organization has investigated. So clearly none of them are D-2s. No. What about the Tehran UFO encounter with the military? I just don't know anything about that. That's a D-2.
Starting point is 00:56:53 That's nothing. That's not D-2. That's just. And what about Kit? Our final conclusion of the podcast, we're setting aside our ranking system. We're going back to Rory. kit do we believe in the legitimacy of the G-PAN do we believe that they have ever investigated a real paranormal case bearing in mind the difficult fact that they
Starting point is 00:57:18 themselves have said that they have not investigated one I think that's a fine conclusion that we can say have G-pan have they got legit evidence of a legit paranormal case are they paranormal I think absolutely I think absolutely too. I think it's most likely that like Heinek himself, they have the files. Yeah. And they're just, they can't say certain conclusions. They've been going for long enough.
Starting point is 00:57:51 They've been involved in so many huge UFO investigations. I think it is safe to give their organization itself a D2 and give it a double yes on this podcast. The command their work. Guys, shout out to this organization. They are still going strong today. They're one of the few government-funded organizations in the world covering the paranormal. The website is fantastic. They even have forums on the website where you can submit your own UFO sightings.
Starting point is 00:58:25 And they investigate it and get back to you whether or not they're going to take on your case. But it's quite funny because when, before you hit the like, I want to submit my case, they have a little section that's like, hey, before you tell us that you saw a UFO, did it have this property? Did it look like this? It's like a flow chart. And it's like, if it looked like that, then you probably saw this. Or if it moved like this, it could have been a that. And then basically at the end, it's like, look, did your obviously? object not display any of the characteristics from anything here. And if you tick that box, they're like, all right, come in. Yeah. That I get in here. We want to hear about what it is. It's very cool.
Starting point is 00:59:13 I thought you were going to say that they do that kind of thing where it's like, if you're filling out your taxes. Yeah. Where it's like, hey, take this box to say, I have filled this out to the best of my ability. And if I'm found to be lying, I'm going to shoot you in the back of the head. They did do that. I feel like they need to do something like that to just like not have their time wasted. Right. We'll invoice you for the amount of work we did on your nonsense.
Starting point is 00:59:41 Yeah. No. No, no, no. They do not do that. They're very welcoming, very understanding. They're very, very kind. I would say check it out. Oh, they're French.
Starting point is 00:59:51 They have limits. If you have any interest in checking out their files and their research, go ahead and do it. Their website is easy to find. You just got a search for the G-E-I-I. P-A-N and throw in some other keywords and you'll be able to find it easily. So, because we've been saying G-P-P-P-N, it's really more Gay-Pan. Yeah. But I think it's best we stick to G-P-P-P.
Starting point is 01:00:13 Yep. G-P-P-N-Bs, or sorry, M-I-Ns, whatever you want to call them. They're a double yes and they're doing the Lord's work over there. Let me tell you. If you enjoyed that clip that we played earlier from the episode about Sky People, or what did you say it has a different name? Self's. And the anchor of Claude McNeish?

But just make sure you show them nice and clearly on your uniform. It's going to come in handy. Interesting. During the hunger games that we have planned later. The irony being is there's such little food in the commune.
Starting point is 01:02:19 Every game is a hunger game. It's pretty rough. Anyway, join. Check it out. It's a great time. It's so much fun. And as I said, one of the rewards you can get is a shout out at the end of the podcast. And that's what we're going to do right now. We're going to shout out some of the D2s that have supported us on Patreon.
Starting point is 01:02:36 So a special thank you to Aaron Conway. Aaron, you are most welcome here in the commune because we need specialists, experienced practitioners of the Conway. Because, you know, we've been doing things, we privately think, all wrong, to be honest. We've been doing things pretty by the books most of our lives. And I think we need to get more into conning. And I think Adam Conway, and I think Aaron Conway could teach us some of that. Oh, how to trick people and steal. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:04 Cons, scams, rooses. Yeah, I don't think we should be saying this publicly on the podcast. I think it's a bad idea. I forgot to tell people to stop listening. Sorry, fast forward a couple seconds. Aaron, me, you, Rory, let's have a little powwow, okay, in District 1, all right, this weekend. We have a lot to discuss. Thanks for joining.
Starting point is 01:03:25 Yeah, the three of us are D-1s, if you catch my drift. Thanks also to Gregory Taylor Power. Taylor power is like dad's strength, but it's what Taylor's get from just doing the little like tape measuring their whole lives. They're just like, kachsh, kachz. Yeah. It gets so powerful. So Gregory, then that's not a guy you want to like arm wrestle or something like that. What is Taylor power like you could fit a pair of pants in 45 seconds?
Starting point is 01:03:51 I mean, he's got to be careful. Like if you, he so much just lifts those trousers too fast, he's going to wedge you someone into the next life. Yeah, you got to be careful if you're too strong. a tailor. Unfortunately, most of the uniforms of the commune, as we said, is just a potato sack, repurposed as a uniform. So I guess we need those to be tailored to a certain point. And then we've had some fabric shortages. So now it's not even a full sack. So it's now more like a hospital gown where your butt is exposed the entire time. You've got just the front of the sack. Or you can mix it up. If you want your back to be covered, I mean, you could let the frontal nudity fly.
Starting point is 01:04:26 You can let the front out if you want, yeah. But just a heads up. If you have any spare material, laying around, you might want it for clothes. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks also to David Davies. David Davies, also known as someone who is automatically a D2. Really? If you got two Ds in your name, that counts. That's kind of true. You make it to the top, David Davies. Hmm. Fortunately, David Davies also has rabies. No. Yeah, it's an unfortunate thing. When we saw them in the crowd, like foaming at the mouth, we were like, that is. a strong warrior thirsting for blood. And then we put him in
Starting point is 01:05:05 with the rest of the soldiers and he bid everyone. Yeah. He just went wild. So the whole fleet was knocked out. Yeah. By 1D2. And we don't have any medicine. No, we don't have any medicine. Of course we don't. So, David, I'm sorry. But...
Starting point is 01:05:21 Enjoy being a dog. I think that's what happens to you if you get rabies. I think you turn into it. Long enough? Yeah, I think so. It's like a werewolf thing. That's fine. I wonder what breed you'll be. Thanks lastly, today. to Leo Willis. Leo, let us know where you willis. Because everyone else in the commune is kind of handed over their will.
Starting point is 01:05:40 We kind of ask them, no matter what age they are, to get writing. And put us front and center in the will. But my record show that you haven't done it yet. So let us know where that will is. Because, you know, we can't have anyone hanging out in the commune who hasn't pledged everything to the cause. Yeah. Why are you here if you aren't willing to give everything up?
Starting point is 01:05:59 That's like the symbolism of joining is like I'm ready to give up everything. And I see here you noted you did send us an email saying there's no need. I don't have anything. I already gave you everything when I entered the commune. That's not true. You're wearing shoes, aren't you? One for Rory, one for me. So get writing that will, Willis.
Starting point is 01:06:20 And then you'll be a full-fledged D2 member of the commune. Yeah. And don't worry, everyone. Don't tell us that we don't give back to the community, that we don't support the people. who are in the commune. Of course, as you know, this weekend is the music festival where I will be playing live, four little kids floated into an orb.
Starting point is 01:06:39 I'm going to be doing that on the main stage. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And everyone gets a little token. Everyone's going to be singing along. Four little kids wanted into an orb. Yeah, people are going to be throwing seeds in the audience, you know, having a great time. It's going to be wild.
Starting point is 01:06:55 I hope you enjoy it, guys. Hope you enjoy this week's episode of the podcast. Thank you so much for supporting this. We love you and we couldn't do it without you. We'll of course be back next Tuesday with another paranormal tale. I'm back again with the after party on Friday. We will see you then. Bye bye.
